BOUGHT GRAND CHEROKEE BRAND NEW, STARTED LEAKING FROM TWO AREAS IMMEDIATELY. FIRST SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THERE WERE NO LEAKS, AFTER NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FIXED ONE LEAK, STILL REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE SECOND LEAK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ACTIVATED WHEN HE HIT A BUMP. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE TRACTION CONTROL WOULD DEACTIVATE AFTER APPROXIMATELY TWO SECONDS AND THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS FOOT WOULD STICK WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. HE FELT THAT AN ELECTRICAL BOX CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,587 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 600. I PURCHASED A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IN AUGUST OF 2006. 11/11/06 THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE AUTOMATIC SHIFT STICK HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND WOULD NOT GO INTO PARK. THE JEEP HAS E REMOTE STARTING FEATURE WITH A SAFETY THAT WILL LOCK THE SHIFT LEVER IN PLACE UNTIL THE KEY IS INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION. THIS LOCKING MECHANISM IS WHAT KEEPS BREAKING. WE CURRENTLY HAVE 4700 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS FIXED THE SHIFTER BOTH TIMES AT NO CHARGE, BUT I CERTAINLY DON'T PLAN ON HAVING TO REPLACE THIS EVERY 2500 MILES. THEY NEED A DESIGN CHANGE. *JB
POSITION OF IGNITION IS DANGEROUS: I HAVE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF WHEN DRIVING BY BUMPING IT WITH MY KNEE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE FIRST 400 MILES OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE. NM
APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS AFTER PURCHASING MY BRAND NEW 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO MY PASSENGER SIDE EXPERIENCED WATER LEAKS THROUGH THE GRAB BAR. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY AND IT WAS 'REPAIRED'. APPROXIMATELY 9 DAYS AFTER THAT REPAIR THE SAME PROBLEM RESURFACED IN THE SAME AREA. THE VEHICLE WILL BE RETURNED TO THE DEALER IN THE MORNING *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHUTTING OFF WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH AND VARIOUS SPEEDS IN TRAFFIC THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING INCLUDING WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN OR STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE FIVE TIMES. THE DEALER ALSO REPLACED THE FRONT END MODULE SEVERAL TIMES. HE WILL CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER AND REQUEST THAT THE VEHICLE BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
