I HAVE A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT8 AND THE FRONT TWO TIRES HAVE BLOWN OUT WITH ONLY 12K MILES ON THEM TWICE. ONCE AT 12K AND AGAIN AT 24K. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED IN 2006 FOR 2006 SRT8 MODELS BUT NOTHING FOR THE 2007 MODEL YEAR. THESE TIRE HAVE BEEN DETERMINED UNSAFE IN 2006, BUT THE SAME TIRES AND PROBLEMS ARE HAPPENING IN 2007. I HAD 2 WHEEL ALIGNMENTS DONE AND BOTH WERE OK. IT IS A TIRE ISSUE THAT KEEPS COSTING ME MONEY AND THE RISK TO ME AND MY FAMILY EVERYTIME I DRIVE THE TRUCK. THE TIRE IS A GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A 255-45-R20 RUNFLAT TIRE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 60 TO 65 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND STARTED DRIVING WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 20MPH AND FELT LIKE STALLING OUT. ON THE DASHBOARD IT SHOW THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN P,R,N,AND D ALL AT THE SAME TIME (CIRCLES AROUND THE LETTERS). I CALL A JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IF THE ENGINE LIGHT DIDN'T COME ON THERE'S ON CODE, SO THEY CAN'T FIX IT. JEEP ALSO TOLD ME THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
HEATER STARTED BLOWING COLD AIR ON DRIVERS SIDE. BLEND DOOR BROKE AND FELL DOWN INSIDE THE DASH. I PAID $130 FOR "HEATERTREATER" FIX AND REPAIRED THE BROKEN DOORS BY CONVERTING THE DUAL CONTROLS TO SINGLE DRIVERS SIDE CONTROL ONLY. *TR
THE AUTO UP/DOWN FEATURE FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER WINDOW DOES NOT WORK. WHEN USING THE BUTTON, THE WINDOW WILL GO UP A BIT THEN BACK DOWN, THEN UP AND DOWN. COULD POTENTIALLY BE A PROBLEM IN THAT THE WINDOW WILL NOT CLOSE. *TR
THE VEHICLE TENDS TO LAG OR STALL DURING NORMAL DRIVING TIMES. IF YOU ACCELERATE THEN LET OFF THE GAS, THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE AGAIN, THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND. IT IS LIKE THERE IS A DEAD PEDAL. IT TAKES ROUGHLY A SECOND FOR THE CAR TO RESPOND, WHICH ISN'T THAT LONG UNTIL YOU CONSIDER AT NORMAL IN-TOWN SPEEDS, YOU CAN GO ALMOST 100 FEET IN A SECOND. JUST ENOUGH TIME TO GET PLOWED IN TO! *TR

POWER WINDOW FAILURE (DESIGN FLAW) MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER WINDOWS HAVE BOTH FAILED. AFTER RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR JEEP AND THEY HAVE NOT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE, STILL SELLING THE DEFECTIVE PART WITH NO MODIFICATIONS TO CORRECT ISSUE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4X4. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY IN 2007. IN 2009, WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. IN ADDITION, ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND WOULD NOT DIM. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS LOW AND NO OTHER FAILURES COULD BE FOUND. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH, THE CONTACT HAS FOUND COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000. UPDATED 3/12/09 *CN UPDATED 03/16/09.*JB
WE HAVE HAD THE WINDOWS IN OUR 2002 JEEP CHEROKEE JUST DROP,WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER THE WHOLE WINDOW REGULATOR HAS TO BE REPLACED, EVEN THOUGH IT IS A SMALL PIECE THAT BREAKS. THE SAME WINDOW TWICE HAS NOW FALLEN. THE DEALER REP SAID THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR THE JEEP LINE AND THEY HAVE HAD TO ORDER LARGE AMMOUNTS OF THE REGULATORS TO KEEP UP WITH THE BREAKAGE. WE HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AT THE TV STATION I WORK AT AND BOTH OF THE REAR WINDOWS DID THE SAME THING,YET NO RECALL BY THE MANFACUTER,WHEN ASKED AT THE DEALER THEY JUST SHRUG THEIR SHOLDER THE COST OF THE UNIT IS AROUND $450 DOLLARS AND THEN THE COS OF LABOR THANK YOU. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 9/27/07 FROM TARBOX JEEP IN N. KINGSTOWN, RI THE DAY I TOOK DELIVERY THE JEEP HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS THE FRONT WINDOWS DID NOT WORK PROPERLY, THE TAIL GATE WAS NOT LIGHTING UP PROPERLY AND I WAS GETTING A VIBRATION THROUGH OUT THE JEEP WHEN DRIVING OVER 45 MPH. I INFORMED THE SALES MAN THE NEXT DAY OF THE DEFECTS IN THE JEEP I BROUGHT THE JEEP IN TO BE SERVICED AND TO HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE ON 11/6/07 THE TAIL GATE WAS FIXED AS BEST AS THEY COULD BUT STILL DEFECTIVE THE FRONT POWER WINDOW'S WERE ALSO CORRECTED HOW EVER THE VIBRATION HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED THEY REPLACED THE DRIVE SHAFT, THEY ALSO REMOVED THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER THAT STILL DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY KNOW BELIEVE IT NEEDS A NEW DOWNLOAG TO THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULAR BUT THAT WILL NOT BE READY FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS AND THEY DO NOT KNOW IF THAT WILL CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND THEY ARE INSISTING I TAKE BACK THE JEEP ON 11/16/07 I FEEL THE JEEP MIGHT BE A SAFETY HAZARD TO DRIVE DUE TO TARBOX NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND I AM IN NEED OF HELP I DRIVE ABOUT 600 MILES EACH WEEK AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE JEEP IN THE CORRECT CONDITION. I HAVE HAD A RENTAL CAR FOR 10 DAYS GOING ON 11 DAYS. I COULD USE SOME HELP ON THIS MATTER. *TR

I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE TO THE MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS SINCE I OWNED IT. THERE IS A TWO SECOND DELAY WHEN YOU PUSH DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. DEALERSHIPS CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I REPLACED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, 4WD MODULE. EVERY LIGHT COMES ON, CHECK ENGINE, CHECK GAS CAP ETC. IT NOW GETS HORRIBLE GAS MILEAGE AND THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING. THIS HAS BEEN A LEMON SINCE DAY ONE AND JEEP REFUSES TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW. *TR
2007/ 30 000 MILES. SHIFTER MALFUNCTIONS INTERMITTENTLY AND CAUSES LOSS OF ACCELERATION BY GOING NEUTRAL OR STICKING IN 1ST GEAR UNEXPECTEDLY. TYPICALLY, ALL THE LETTERS ARE LIFT PRND SIMULTANEOUSLY AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. STOPPING AND RESTARTING (ANNOYING AND DANGEROUS IN HIGHWAY DRIVING) SEEMS TO RESET THE SHIFTER. DEALER SAYS ESM PART NO 52124138AD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE FOR SAFETY REASONS, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS PART BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS KILLED AS A SITTING DUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. *TR

WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH CRD (COMMON RAIL DIESEL) ENGINE WITH ABOUT 4,000 MILES ON ODOMETER UNDER LIGHT LOAD IN LIGHT TRAFFIC WITH ABOUT 3/4 TANK OF FUEL ON A HILLY RURAL HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 50 MPH THE MIL ("CHECK ENGINE LIGHT") TURNED ON AND WITHIN A SECOND OR SO, IF NOT SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE RED ERROR LIGHT INDICATING MALFUNCTION IN THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM ILLUMINATED AND BEGAN FLASHING. DRIVER IMMEDIATELY SLOWED TO 30 TO 35 MPH, ACTIVATED EMERGENCY FLASHERS, AND CHANGED ROUTE TO RETURN VEHICLE HOME, AT THAT POINT ABOUT A 15 MILE TRIP ON A COMBINATION OF HILLY RURAL HIGHWAYS AND SUBURBAN ARTERIAL ROADS. ABOUT 10 MILES LATER WHILE CLIMBING A HILL IN A BLIND CURVE ON A RURAL HIGHWAY WITH NO SHOULDER IN MODERATE TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 35 MPH THE ENGINE STALLED BRINGING VEHICLE TO HALT. IN THE SHOULDERLESS BLIND CURVE THERE WAS NEITHER VISIBILITY NOR ROOM FOR FOLLOWING TRAFFIC TO PASS, THUS CREATING AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE BUT IT THEN SEEMED TO OPERATE IN "LIMP HOME MODE" AND DID NOT SEEM ABLE TO MOVE FASTER THAN ABOUT 20 TO 25 MPH BEFORE STALLING AGAIN. VEHICLE THEN STALLED REPEATEDLY IN THE LAST 5 OR SO MILES BACK TO HOME ON HILLY RURAL HIGHWAY IN MODERATE TRAFFIC, AND RESTARTING ATTEMPTS BECAME PROGRESSIVELY MORE DIFFICULT. BY THE TIME VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO OWNER'S PROPERTY THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START EXCEPT TO RUN FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE SHUTTING OFF, AND VEHICLE HAVING BECOME COMPLETELY UNDRIVEABLE THEN HAD TO BE PUSHED TO A SAFE PLACE TO AWAIT TOW TO SELLING DEALER FOR SERVICE. DRIVER CONTACTED SELLING DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO REPORT PROBLEM, AND SERVICE APPOINTMENT AND TOW TO SELLING DEALER ARE PENDING. *TR

ON 10/2/07 SELLING DEALER TECHNICIAN CHANGED CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR PER MANUFACTURER TSB BUT VEHICLE ENGINE STILL WOULD NOT START. ON 10/4/07 TECHNICIAN CHANGED FUEL FILTER WHICH ENABLED ENGINE TO START AND RUN. TECHNICIAN THEN CONFIRMED CORRECT OPERATION OF ENGINE, CLEARED ERROR CODES FROM POWERTRAIN MANAGEMENT COMPUTER SYSTEM, AND TEST DROVE VEHICLE FOR 10 MILES AND OBSERVED NO PROBLEMS. VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO CONSUMER AND RE-ENTERED SERVICE ON 10/4/07. INVESTIGATION AND LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF FUEL FILTER THAT WAS REMOVED FROM VEHICLE ARE PENDING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION, WHO DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD DEVELOPED A CRACK AT THE EXHAUST CROSSOVER ON THE JUNCTION OF THE TWO PIPES. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING APPROX 25 MPH. APPROACHING INTERSECTION LOW PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO BRAKES WITH THE INTENT TO GRADUALLY INCREASE PRESSURE IN ORDER TO COME TO A SMOOTH STOP. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER APPLYING LIGHT PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKES FAILED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PUSHED COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR BUT HAD NO EFFECT RESULTING IN A COMPLETE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE ENTERED A BUSY INTERSECTION. A DELAYED REACTION APPLICATION OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE GRADUALLY SLOWED THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER (AT PLACE OF PURCHASE) STATED THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JB
THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT THE BRAND NEW 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DIESEL, I UNLOCKED THE DOORS WITH THE KEY FOB, OPENED A COUPLE OF THE DOORS AND LOADED MY LUGGAGE, THEN I DID THE KEY SEQUENCE ON THE KEYFOB (LOCK+PANIC) TO TURN OFF THE BEEP WHEN YOU LOCK THE CAR. AFTER ALL THIS I TRIED TO START IT (CORRECT STARTING PROCEDURE - WAIT FOR GLOW LIGHT TO GO OUT) AND THE STARTER CRANKED THE ENGINE WITH NO FIRING AT ALL. I REPEAT AND WAIT 5 TIMES OVER ABOUT 5 MINUTES, IT FAILED TO START EACH TIME. FINALLY AFTER I HAVE WAITED ABOUT 2 MORE MINUTES, I TRIED AGAIN AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO. I AM CONCERNED THE CAR COULD FAIL TO START AGAIN. UPDATED 01-16-08. *KB
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON AT RANDOM. WHEN IT DOES, PROBLEMS ACCELERATING. CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE PAST 20 OR SOMETIMES CAR "SPUTTERS" JERKING A LOT. SOMETIMES AT RED LIGHTS, RAIL ROAD CROSSINGS, ANYTHING REALLY WHERE THE CAR IS STOPPED, CAR WILL NOT RESUME DRIVING AND CAR SOUNDS LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL AND I AM REVING IT UP. ELECTRONIC DASH PUTS A BRACKET OVER EACH GEAR, P R N D, ALL AT ONCE. WHEN ENGINE LIGHT IS ON IT IS ON FOR A PERIOD OF DAYS. WHEN I TURN THE CAR ON AND PUT IT IN TO DRIVE IT MAKES THE MOST HORRIBLE SOUND AS IF I BACKED INTO A WALL AND JERKS. SOMETIMES ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON IT'S AS IF I SMELL SOMETHING BURNING THROUGH MY AIR VENTS. EVERYTIME I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER OR ANY SHOP JUST FOR A DIAGNOSIS IT'S JUST MY LUCK THAT THE LIGHT TURNS OFF AND THEY TELL ME MY CAR IS FINE. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FROM LOOKING AT THE COMPLAINTS!!! *TT

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL ON JULY 11, 2007 REGARDING THE TIPM. THE DEALER CURRENTLY HAS THE VEHICLE, BUT CANNOT GET IT TO START. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 4,260.
THE FACTORY INSTALLED TOW HITCH HAS TOO MUCH PLAY (CLEARANCE OR SLIP FIT).WHEN YOU INSTALL A STANDARD SIZE RECEIVER(MALE) YOU CAN MOVE IT UP AND DOWN .500 OF AN INCH OR MORE. IT IS WAY TOO SLOPPY OF A FIT. THIS WILL LEAD TO LOCK PIN WEAR AND IN AN EXTREME CASE,PIN SHEAR. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.PLEASE INSPECT THIS FIT.*AK

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER TWICE FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES. THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETECT THE FAILURE AND PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,827 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,377.
I RECENTLY LEASED A NEW 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 3.7 L , 6 CYLINDERS. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND COULD NOT BE DRIVEN AT MORE THAN 20 MPH, AND THE INDICATOR GAUGES SEEM ED STUCK IN PLACE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHEN MAKING A SHARP TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE AT WORK. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN NEW YORK CITY ,AND MY FEAR WAS THAT ANOTHER VEHICLE WOULD REAR END MY VEHICLE. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASING LOCATION AT ADDITIONAL COSTS TO US, AND THEY STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO THE SHIFT CONTROLLER, TRANSMISSION NOT SENDING THE PROPER SIGNAL FOR IT TO SHIFT PROPERLY. THEY TOLD US THEY WOULD REPLACE THE SOLENOID, AND IT SHOULD BE FINE. I OWN A NEW 2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT I HAD FOR TWO WEEKS WITH APPROXIMATELY 500 MILES ON IT. A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER PURCHASE I CALLED THE DEALER TO TELL THEM THAT THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT WAS ON. THEY SAID NO TO BRING VEHICLE TO DEALER AS IT WAS PROBABLY DUE TO A LOOSE GAS CAP, AND WOULD GO AWAY IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. HOWEVER, THIS WEEK WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH THE JEEP STALLED. THE FUEL GAUGE DROPPED TO EMPTY FROM 3/4 FULL, AND THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION ON THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE FAR SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. I TOOK THE KEY OUT AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE, AND THE FULL GUAGE WENT BACK UP TO 3/4 FULL AND I WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM....THEY SAID THE VEHICLE IS FINE. THE RESET THE COMPUTER SO THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. THE NEXT DAY AFTER BRINGING IT HOME FROM THE DEALER, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I AM BRINGING IT BACK IN NEXT WEEK. IN MAY 2007 WE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE A/C AND BLOWER MOTOR ON OUR VEHICLE. I CONDUCTED RESEARCH AND FOUND THROUGH TECH ADVISORY THE BLOWER CONTROL MODULE WERE THE PROBLEM AND WERE BEING REPLACED. I DISCONNECTED THE BLOWER CONTROL MODULE AND COULD SEE THE UNIT HAD MELTED AROUND THE WIRE HARNESS PLUG. I DID EXACTLY AS THE TECH ADVISORY RECOMMENDED AND REPLACED THE BLOWER CONTROL MODULE AND WIRE HARNESS PLUG. LESS THAN 70 DAYS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED AGAIN. I PULLED THE BLOWER CONTROL MODULE OUT AND COULD SEE THE NEW MODULE HAD ONCE AGAIN MELTED AROUND THE REPLACED PLUG. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD WARRANTY THE PART AND I JUST NEEDED TO BRING THE ORIGINAL INVOICE AND BAD MELTED BLOWER CONTROL MODULE IN AND THEY WOULD GIVE ME A NEW ONE. I DID THAT LAST NIGHT AND WHEN I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY LOOKED AT THE MELTED BLOWER CONTROL MODULE AND TOLD ME BECAUSE I DID NOT REPLACE THE ENTIRE WIRE HARNESS THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE MELTED MODULE. I INQUIRED AS TO THE COST TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WIRE HARNESS AS IT REQUIRED PULLING OUT THE ENTIRE DASH TO SIMPLY UNPLUG THE OLD HARNESS AND PLUG THE NEW ONE IN. I WAS TOLD 8 HOURS OF LABOR AND COST OF PARTS FOR THE NEW HARNESS AND BLOWER CONTROL MODULE WHICH WAS ESTIMATED AT $700.00. THE PARTS THEMSELVES ARE LESS THAN $200.00. WHEN I REPLACED THE ORIGINAL PART I DID IT EXACTLY AS THE TECH ADVISORY TOLD ME SO WHICH WAS DATED SOMETIME IN MAY 2007. IN ADDITION TO THE PART MELTING IT HAS SANK THE TOP EDGE OF THE CARPET IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. I VIEW THIS AS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD ACTUALLY CASE A FIRE IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED NO WARRANTY RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS ISSUE EITHER. I THINK CHRYSLER SHOULD RE-EXAMINE HOW MANY OF THESE BLOWER CONTROL MODULES THEY HAVE REPLACED AND THE RISK THEY ARE PUTTING THE PUBLIC AT BY NOT RECALLING THEM. EACH TIME IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER FOR "REPAIR" , THEY EITHER COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM, OR REPLACED : SHIFTER MODULE (TWICE), TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS (THREE TIMES) AND SUGGESTED A NEW BATTERY (WE REPLACED THAT ALSO), AND TRANSMISSION PLUG AND SEAL. THERE WERE ALSO NUMEROUS "SOFTWARE AND ANTI-THEFT UPDATES. IN ADDITION TO THESE, I REPLACED THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR TWICE. NOW, THEY WANT TO REPLACE THE "TRANSMISSION TEMP CIRC." AND ESM MODULE - FOR ANOTHER $1,500.00 . ALL THIS IN 52,536 MILES AND 6 YEARS !!! I FIRMLY BELIEVE THERE ARE SERIOUS MANUFACTURER DEFECTS WITH THIS VEHICLE. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THE SAFETY OF THIS JEEP IS UNPREDICTABLE.
