I have been trying to get this vehicle recall taken care of at my local dealership since it was issued. They have never been able to complete it. I have also taken it in because of stalling when running. Luckily it only stalls occasionally, maybe once every 6 months or so. I am also lucky that it has always been in town and not on the highway. The dealer was unable to reproduce the problem. The Jeep just shuts off with the dash lights still on. Once you get to the side of the road then it will restart when you put it in park and not happen again for quite some time. The fuel level does not seem to affect this condition. It has happened probably 6 time since I purchased the vehicle in 2014.
The recall is V62 but after the recall was preformed the vehicle is doing the exact same thing. While slowing down and braking the vehicle will stall without warning, with the vehicle not running the steering and braking systems are disabled which makes getting out of danger impossible. The vehicle needs to come to a complete stop, be put in park, then be restarted. This will be the third time this happened. I had the recall done then I had to pay the second time to get it fixed and now I need to bring the vehicle back to the dealership for the same issue. Chrysler will take no responsibility for the issue.
Symptoms are identical to recall W47, Where loss of engagement between transmission and the differential inside PTU (Power Transfer Unit)
My 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with 5.7 hemi has had all recalls and the one for fuel pump relay V62/NHTSA 19V-813 completed Aug 2021. It is still shutting off while driving with no warning. This has occurred 3 times since August with the most recent being on Dec 26th 2021 in Leesburg Va. Stalls while driving causing the power steering to not function as well as the brakes. This engine power turns off randomly at around 10-15 mph (when making turns, stopping and/or decelerating) but there are no warning lights that appear on the dash. All electrical power to the car still functions and the engine stall is not noticeable until applying pressure to the brakes or trying to steer the wheels. Once i get the vehicle manually stopped and put the gear shift in Park, hit the start button, the vehicle starts up every time and will run for weeks or months before it happens again. Very dangerous. This recall needs to be reconsidered as this did not solve the issue. Matter of time before it is involved in a crash.. Taking to dealership tomorrow 27th or 28th. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
While driving down a main road, the power steering went out, the brakes locked up, and the accelerator locked up. I had to put the car in park and then turn it off and back on. Yes, it is available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because since my brakes were not working, it means my brake lights also were not, meaning someone would not have seen me stopping and I could have been rear-ended. Others were put at risk because my car could have hit someone else. This has happened 4 other times on different dates and a Jeep dealer has done a fuel pump relay BYPASS twice, but the fuel pump itself was never replaced. There were no warning lamps or messages to warn me about the problem before it failed. I am terrified to drive my own car. This needs to be addressed asap.

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle suddenly shut off. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was notified. The failure mileage was 50,200. Parts distribution disconnect.
Driving and all the sudden all warning lights on and off, wipers came on slowly, radio and air shut off car completely died. Towed to a mechanic and alternator shot. Alternator and battery replaced only to immediately do it again as I barely made it home who’s is 1.1 miles from the shop that fixed it.now completely dead
When purchased vehicle was told to take it to local dealer. Vehicle was taken to local dealer on May 2021. To this day, they claim that they are still waiting for parts. I am 80 years old and disabled and stressing big time because I keep receiving information on mail stating that my vehicle is not safe. I have called your number and all I was told that they are waiting for parts. Please help. Thank you.
2012 JEEP CHEROKEE. CONGRESSMAN JODY HICE WRITES ON BEHALF ON CONSTITUENT REGARDING FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES FAILURE TO REPAIR RECALL IN ON 582, 000 VEHICLES. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER HAS EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIR.
There is an open recall for the fuel pump relay on my Jeep Grand Cherokee, [XXX]. I've called every dealership within 50 miles of where I live and all of them tell me that Chrysler has only allowed them to order parts for 1 vehicle a week and they all over 100+ vehicles backlogged, meaning if circumstances don't change it will be 2 years plus before my vehicle is repaired. Now I'm going to have to pay for temporary repair out of pocket as my vehicle is already intermittently failing to start due to the relay failing. This is ridiculous and Jeep needs to get their act together before someone gets killed when this relay dies at the worst possible time. The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving on or off a ramp, the power steering and brakes failed to respond. The vehicle then stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The failure had occurred approximately 4 times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who completed a fuel pump relay recall however the failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle to another dealer who was unable to find the cause of the failure thereafter was not found. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case regarding the matter. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
In the span of about 2 years, I have had the fuel pump TPIM safety recall performed about 3 times. I’ve had a new fuel pump, battery, new alternator, power board installed, all out of pocket and my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi continues to randomly stall. The dealer always says there are no codes and basically cannot do anything for me at this point. Do I have to wait until I am in a serious accident before Chrysler does anything? Go on any jeep forum and I know I am not the only person experiencing this issue. This is a safety issue that needs to be corrected before someone is seriously injured or killed.
Driving Service air suspension light came on then front end dropped as pulled into driveway and put in park. Turned car off then on and suspension didn’t lift towed to mechanic and air suspension was changed. Air suspension light came on not even two years later saying service suspension towed to shop and they said Transfer Case Control module was not working
I went to the dealership and was informed the fuel pump relay recall is not available. My Jeep Has been misfiring, stalling, vibrating, and I am smelling gas fumes when I drive.
I purchased my vehicle Aug., 16, 2018. While driving the vehicle will shut off and loss of all power occurs. It is extremely frightening and dangerous. I know there has been a recall for this issue and when I look up my vehicle under recalls it is showing that all recalls have been taken care of. The dealership has never solved the issue I have and it continues to happen. What do I do in a situation like this? This has been going on since I purchased the vehicle several times on several different occasions. After looking up the carfax report I've realized this vehicle has had a problem with shutting off while driving since it was new.

The activated headrest on the passenger side deployed while driving. No accident occurred and this problem appears to be an issue on similar vehicles. There was also a class action lawsuit about this so there should be a recall issued due to the plastic piece inside wearing down. This could easily cause a wreck or kill somebody!

Engine stalls without warning causing full loss of power, including power steering and ability to brake properly... ends in engine failure as well. This has resulted in MULTIPLE CLOSE ENCOUNTERS AND LATELY IT CAUSED ME TO HIT THE CURB AND DAMAGED FRONT RIGHT WHEEL.. WILL IT BE ANOTHER CAR AND A CRASH NEXT TIME!???

Lifter & camshaft failed while driving on the highway The engine response failed while driving & just about caused an a car pile up on the highway, all while dumping fuel out of exhaust! The dealer knows about the the flaw with the 100,000+ with the same issue, will not fix it unless owner pays over 4K+ & will not address the extremely hazardous issue. The independent Service place says it’s a flaw from the production & that Jeep knows but won’t resolve it, unless owner pays.
I have repeatedly tried to get the recalls fixed for my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but all of the local dealers tell me Chrysler is only releasing one part per month per dealership and to just "wait!" I do not feel safe driving my vehicle. My vehicle is getting older, and other things keep needing to be repaired on the vehicle. It is just a matter of time before something bad happens to me. If they know there is a problem, how are they getting away with only releasing "one part per week" to each dealership across the country? This is gross negligence on Chrysler's part and a waiting game for something catastrophic to happen to people like me. Can you please offer a solution? I'm not as concerned about the visor. Should I be concerned about about the other recall besides the fuel pump? When I call the dealer, they say when the V62 part "for me" comes in, they will do all the recalls together, but I'm on a list "with a 100 people before me!" That is so unsettling...it could be more than a year!

The contact then stated that the vehicle caught fire and disintegrated into flames. No injuries were sustained. No medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The fire department was notified, and the fire was extinguished. The vehicle was towed to a collision lot and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

My Jeep has shut off / stalled on me twice now since I have purchased it last month. This is an absolute random issue, and happens while driving. The engine will shut off with no warning, and you loose power steering and power brakes. Very scary, and a very serious and deadly condition. Jeep and Chrysler are no help. Was at the dealership for three days, and they said they can’t find the issue, and gave it back to me. Pathetic!
Took my car into dealership for recall (fuel relay) repair on June 7, 2021. They said they could not get the part until July. Car stalled in middle of driving and had it towed to dealership on June 28, 2021. The still could not get the part and gave me no ETA. No idea where to escalate this further but wanted to start here, nothing on the Jeep website to file a complaint. Is there any guidance you can provide to get any attention in the matter? Dealership: Somerset Jeep and Chrysler, Somerset Massachusetts Thank you, Kathleen
Paint above windshield has deteriorated and has rust bubbles. Paint first looked almost burnt then turned white/grey in color. The sun roof stopped working shortly after. Spot has increasingly become bigger and bigger. It has doubled in size in less than 3 months. I have had nothing but issues with this vehicle.

MY JEEP HAS BEEN STALLING MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN TRYING TO START IT. ONE NIGHT WHEN I TRIED TO START IT, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CHANGED THE FUEL RELAY ON IT, HOWEVER I JUST BROUGHT IT BACK 2 DAYS AGO FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED IT AGAIN, HOWEVER WHEN PICKING IT UP IT STALLED AGAIN.
THE V62 RECALL DID NOT WORK FOR MY JEEP. IT WAS FINE FOR ABOUT 3 MOS (DIDN'T STALL WHILE DRIVING) AND THEN IT STALLED EXITING THE HIGHWAY. IN THE PAST YEAR I'VE HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED, MULTIPLE 'FIXES' FOR THIS RECALL AND IT STILL STALLS.
MY CAR BEGAN SHUDDERING, THE DEAL OF DRIVING A BOAT ALMOST, FEELING LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS IN A LOWER GEAR BUT NOT AS ROUGH. THE DEALER PREFORMED RECALL REPAIR FSA 14M02TSB 16-0129 TODAY IN DENTON. I DROVE HOME THE 35 MI. AND, ALTHOUGH IMPROVED STILL FELT THE SAME. MY BOYFRIEND RESEARCHED OTHER BULLETINS AND RECALLS. THEN JACKED THE CAR UP AND SAW A LEAK RELATING TO 14M01TSB. I CALLED BUT WAS TOLD SINCE I HAVE 127798 MI AND IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN 10 HRS, THIS NO LONGER APPLIES. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR CODED RELATED TO THESE ISSUES AND I FEEL THAT THESE 2 ISSUES ARE RELATED TO EACH OTHER AND 1401TSB SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO ACCOMMODATE CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE THIS ISSUE BUT WEREN'T AWARE AS DIAGNOSTICS DO NOT SHOW THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THE LEAK IS NOT SEVERE ENOUGH TO NOTICE DRIVEWAY SPOTS. THE ONLY CODE OF MY CAR IS AN OXYGEN SENSOR CODE THAT SHOWED UP AFTER THE DEALER REPAIR TODAY. I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE WHO HAS THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE THEREFORE IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT JEEP MANUFACTURERS ARE FULLY AWARE OF. I REQUEST THAT THE PREVIOUS 14M01 BE EXTENDED TO COVER ALL PARTS, REPAIRS AND LABOR RELATED TO THIS ISSUES FOR THESE VEHICLE OWNERS. I AM JUST OUTSIDE THE COVERAGE OF THIS BULLETIN AND HAD MY BOYFRIEND NOT JACKED UP THE VEHICLE AND CHECKED HIMSELF AFTER RESEARCHING THE BULLETINS, WE WOULD STILL BE UNAWARE OF THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. I, AND OTHER OWNERS NEED THE PROBLEMS ADDRESS IN BULLETIN 14M01 REMEDIED BY WARRANTY EXTENSION OR OTHER SATISFACTORY MEANS TO COVER A PROBLEM THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS FULLY AWARE OF.

TL* HE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DESPITE RECALL V62 BEING 'FIXED' BY JEEP DEALERSHIP, VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL WHILE IN MOTION. OFTEN TIMES WHILE TURNING EITHER ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAY. AFTER MULTIPLE STALLS I STARTED KEEPING A LOG OF WHEN AND WHERE THEY OCCUR. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HAS CAUSED FOR SOME SCARY SITUATION ON THE HIGHWAY AND APPROACHING INTERSECTIONS. THE RECALL FUEL PUMP RELAY FIX HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM.
ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON BLINKS AND CAR STARTS TO SHAKE HAD DEALER LOOK INTO ENGINE. THEY STATED THE ENGINE BLOCK NEEDS REPLACEMENT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I OWNED THE JEEP. THE CAR CAN STALL AT ANY MINUTE AND JUST SHUTOFF. DRIVING ON CITY STREETS ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS FOR A FEW MINUTES THE GOES SOLID FOR A FEW DAYS THEN GOES OFF ONLY TO RESTART THE PROCESS CAR ALWAYS SHAKES AND MAKES NOISES.
WHEN IN MOTION (HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY) THE ENGINE WILL STALL AND THE ENGINE CUTS OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. NO ERROR CODES OR WARNINGS COME ON, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES NO LONGER FUNCTION EITHER BUT THE RADIO STAYS ON. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY TWICE BUT ITS NOT FIXED. BECAUSE THE COMPUTER DOESN'T RECOGNIZE AN ERROR THE DEALER HAS SAID THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE IT AS AN ISSUE. BUT JEEP FORUMS WIDELY SHOW THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE STILL HAVING THIS ISSUE..
