TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT AND WAS FRACTURED. THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WAS ALSO FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIAMI LAKES AUTOMALL (16600 NW 57TH AVE, MIAMI LAKES, FL 33014 (305) 455-3540) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELTS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO METROPLEX CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (2800 W. MOCKINGBIRD LN, DALLAS, TX 75285) WHERE HE WAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

HEADREST MALFUNCTIONED WHILE DRIVING. I WAS HIT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD AND HEARD A LOUD "POPPING" NOISE. ALMOST WRECKED MY CAR WHILE DRIVING, AND THERE WERE CHILDREN ON BOARD. THE HEADREST DEPLOYED AS IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT, BUT THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR TODAY AND WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE OUT WHEN I NOTICE THAT THE DRIVER SEAT HEADREST HAS DEPLOYED, THERE WAS NO IMPACT ON THE CAR. I LOOKED AT THE BACK OF THE HEADREST AND NOTICE THE PLASTIC HOLD THE RESTRAINING PIN IS BROKEN. *TR
DRIVER'S HEADREST DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. DEPLOYMENT HIT DRIVER PAINFULLY, BUT NO SERIOUS INJURIES. NO APPARENT REASON FOR THE DEPLOYMENT.*DT*JB
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, THE PASSENGER ACTIVE HEADREST STRUCK OUR PASSENGER IN THE HEAD. NOT ONLY DID THIS CAUSE PHYSICAL PAIN, IT IS ALSO ALARMING THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL REGARDING THIS. A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH ELICITS HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS, YET FCA AND JEEP HAVE NOT BEEN REQUIRED TO FIX THIS. IT'S CLEAR THAT OUR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SUFFERS FROM THE VERY COMMON PROBLEM OF BROKEN PLASTIC WHICH RELEASES THE ACTIVE HEADREST. UTTERLY APPALLED THAT NHTSA AND FCA ARE AWARE OF THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND YET CHOOSE TO DO NOTHING. INITIAL RESEARCH IS SHOWING THIS WILL COST ME OVER $600 TO FIX. *TR
DRIVER SIDE FRONT HEADREST EXPLODED BEHIND MY HEAD WHILE DRIVING ON SMOOTH STRAIGHT CITY STREET AT ABOUT 20 MPH. SCARED MY WIFE AND MYSELF HALF TO DEATH NOT KNOWING WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED.
2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ACTIVE HEADREST ON PASSENGER SIDE DEPLOYED RANDOMLY WITHOUT ACCIDENT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN AND HAD NOT HIT ANY BUMPS. PASSENGER SEAT HEADREST POPPED WITHOUT WARNING OR CAUSE WHILE CRUISING ON A ROAD AT 45 MILES PER HOUR. *TR
THIS MODEL CAN COME WITH THE 3.6 LITER V/6 ENGINE. THE OIL COOLER HAS A NECK ATTACHED AND THIS IS WHERE THE OIL FILTER IS LOCATED. WHERE THE NECK IS CONNECTED TO THE OIL COOLER THERE IS A O-RING TO SEAL THIS CONNECTION AND THIS LEAKS ON ALMOST ALL MODELS. THERE HAS BEEN SOME INCIDENTS WHERE THE OIL HAS LEAKED ON A HOT MOTOR AND CAUSE A FIRE. THIS IS PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE OIL COOLER DESIGN AND SHOULD BE PROBABLY LISTED AS A RECALL. THANK YOU *TR
WE WERE DRIVING HOME AFTER A LONG SHIFT AT THE HOSPITAL, AND SUDDENLY WHILE WE'RE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 70, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST JUST POPS, CAUSED US TO SWERVE OUT OF SURPRISE. WE TOOK IT INTO A DEALERSHIP, AND AFTER WORKING ON IT FOR A FEW MINUTES THEY SAID THAT A PART HAD BROKEN OUT OF IT WHICH CAUSED IT TO ACTIVATE. THEN THEY WANTED TO CHARGE US FOR THE PART AND LABOR WHEN IT'S OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IF THE PART JUST BROKE OUT OF NOWHERE. I CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THEY SAID SINCE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FIRST AND THEY POSSIBLY BROKE IT, THERE'S NOTHING THEY COULD DO. SO PRETTY MUCH THEY WANT US TO PAY FOR A SAFETY DEFECT IN THEIR PRODUCTS. *TR
WHILE THE CAR WAS UNOCCUPIED/STATIONARY, DRIVER'S HEADREST (ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (AHR) SYSTEM) UNEXPECTEDLY DEPLOYED. CAR WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, PRESENTING A SERIOUS RISK OF DRIVER DISTRACTION AND POTENTIAL HEAD AND NECK INJURIES HAD SOMEONE BEEN IN THE CAR DRIVING. *TR

THE CONTACT REGAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. THE HEADREST FAILED TO RECONNECT. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO LASHER AUTO GROUP (8585 LAGUNA GROVE DR, ELK GROVE, CA 95757, (916) 392-1400). THE CONTACT REACHED OUT LASHER AUTO GROUP AND WAS INFORMED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKEN IN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,750.*DT*JB

I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 10 MILES PER HOUR ON DIRT ROAD WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY ACTIVE HEADREST SOCCER PUNCHED ME IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON JUST OUT OF THE BLUE. I THOUGHT THE CHAIRS FLEW FROM MY BACKSEAT TO THE FRONT SEAT BUT I PULLED OVER AND MY HEAD REST EXPLODED THE CHEAP PLASTIC PIECES BROKE. I WATCHED A YOUTUBE VIDEO ON HOW TO TRY AND WELD THE PLASTIC BACK TOGETHER TO TEMPORARILY FIX IT BECAUSE I AM NOT PAYING $700.00+ TO THE DEALERSHIP TO NOT FIX IT BUT REPLACE IT WHEN THE CHEAP PLASTIC PIECES WILL BREAK AGAIN. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT JEEP USED CHEAP PLASTIC ON THESE ACTIVE HEADRESTS THERE NOT CHEAP TO REPLACE. I'VE HAD MY JEEP 3 YEARS AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES MY HONDA LASTED 15 YRS+ WITH VERY MINIMAL ISSUES. EVEN WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED IN 2018 MY HEADREST DIDN'T EXPLODE IT DID NOTHING. IF THIS ACTIVE HEAD REST IS CONSIDERED A SAFETY AIR BAG IT SURE DOESN'T DO ITS JOB. *TR
THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT IS NOT RETRACTING AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD. RESEARCH OF THE NHTSA'S DATABASE OF COMPLAINTS SHOW THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON AND IS UNDER CURRENT INVESTIGATION.*DT*JB
RIVER'S SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. DESIGNED TO RELEASE UPON COLLISION. UNABLE TO RESET THE HEADREST AS THE PLASTIC CLIPS ARE BROKEN, DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THIS WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. CLIPS HOLDING HEADREST IN PLACE ARE PLASTIC AND DEGRADE OVER TIME DUE TO THE HEAT. WHEN THEY FAIL THE HEADREST DEPLOYS.
HEADREST DEPLOYED DUE TO FAILURE OF THE PLASTIC RETAINER. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THIS IS THE SECOND HEADREST TO DEPLOY, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED A FEW MONTHS AGO, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED A CRASH OR ANY CONTACT. I SAVED THE SMALL PIECES OF PLASTIC THAT CRUMBLED .
I JUST BOUGHT THIS JEEP CHEROKEE IN APRIL 2020 AND NOW IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE JUNE 15, 2020 AND I HAVEN'T HAD MY VEHICLE IN OVER TWO MONTHS BECAUSE OF A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THIS TRUCK WAS SUPPOSED TO BE CERTIFIED WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT AND I FEEL LIKE I WAS SOLD A LEMON.
WE HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE SHIFTER. QUITE OFTEN WHEN WE PUSH IT INTO PARK IT DOESN'T GO TO PARK. IT EITHER STAYS IN DRIVE OR GOES TO NEUTRAL. SO WHEN WE THINK THE CAR IS IN PARK IT CONTINUES TO MOVE. IT IS HARD TO GET IT IN THE DESIRED GEAR LIKE IF THE COMPUTER IS T READING G IT. WE OFTEN HAVE TO TRY MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE IT GOES IN THE DESIRED GEAR. WE HAVE NOTICED THIS PRIMARILY WHEN PARKING, THE OTHER DAY WE HAD TO ACT QUICKLY BECAUSE THE CAR WENT FORWARD AND HIT A LOW WALL, AS WE WERE PARKING AT HOME.
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED (FORTUNATELY) THE PASSENGER SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT HEADREST) RELEASED BREAKING THE PLASTIC PINS HOLDING IT TOGETHER.
THE DEALER IDENTIFIED A STEERING LEAK. TO FIX THE STEERING LEAK, THEY PLAN TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE RACK AND PINION STEERING ASSEMBLY. THE FAILING SYSTEM WAS CAUGHT BEFORE IT AFFECTED STEERING THE JEEP. *TR

THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO DOUGLAS JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (2382 S TAMIAMI TRAIL, VENICE, FL 34293) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A COST TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE COULD SEE SMOKE EMITTING FROM THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE WHEN AT A COMPLETE STOP. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OIL LEAK WAS CAUSED BY A CRACKED OIL FILTER HOUSING. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000
THE DRIVER'S HEADREST SAFETY FEATURE DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON AS THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE CAR.
I HAVE A 2014 ECODISEAL SINCE I BOUGHT IT HAS HAD PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM. I THOUGHT OF I SETTLED AND HAD THE EMISSION UPDATE THEN IT WOULD GET BETTER BUT I WAS WRONG MY JEEP HAS HAD ISSUES AFTER ISSUE. LAG TO NO POWER. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AFTER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP NUMEROUS TIMES. JEEP IS NO HELP AT ALL. I'VE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET EACH TIME TO HAVE IT FIXED. A DIFFERENT PROBLEM EACH TIME BUT THE SAME ISSUE THAT BROUGHT ME IN THE FIRST TIME. MY JEEP WILL NOT GO OVER 35 MPH AT TIMES. SOMETIMES THE POWER IS SO BAD THAT IT WILL NOT GO UP A HILL.
SEATBELT RETRACTORS IN BOTH FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS FAILED. THIS IS KNOWN TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE GRAND CHEROKEE. DEALER WANTS CUSTOMER TO PAY $800.00 PLUS DOLLARS TO REPAIR EACH. RIDICULOUS WHEN IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE.

THE CONTACT USED THE PARKING BRAKES TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ALL AMERICAN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF ODESSA LOCATED AT 2510 E 8 TH ST, ODESSA, TX 79761, (432) 614-0801. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER IDENTIFIED THE FAILURE OF THE ALTERNATOR AS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED PRIOR TO A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BEING PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,800.
WHEN YOU START THE JEEP UP, EVERY FEW TIMES IT DISPLAYS A **SERVICE SHIFTER** MESSAGE, AS WELL AS AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING OR EVEN CRUISING AT ROAD SPEEDS. DOING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH I SEE THIS IS A REALLY COMMON PROBLEM ON THE 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES. SOME TALKS ARE THE ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE THE SHIFTER CABLES ETC. SEEING AS THIS IS SOOO COMMON OF A COMPLAINT AND PROBLEM, I CANT NOT SEE WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL TO FIX THIS.
I DON'T GET THIS I JUST GOT THIS PART REPLACEMENT AND IS ALREADY PEELING OFF AND I CALL MY DEALER AND THEY SAY THE RECALL ALREADY EXPIRED
THE DRIVERS SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST POPPED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 40MPH
AFTER HAVING THE V08 EMISSIONS RECALL DONE THE VEHICLE HAS A MAJOR LOSS IN POWER. THERE IS A DANGEROUS AMOUNT OF LAG WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. IT IS NOT SAFE TO PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC DUE TO THE LAG. THE FUEL MILEAGE HAS DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY ALSO. THE INFORMATION SENT OUT BY FCA SPECIALLY STATED THAT THIS RECALL WOULD NOT EFFECT DRIVEABILITY OR FUEL CONSUMPTION. IT HAS EFFECFED BOTH SIGNIFICANTLY. I HAVE
I OWN A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH ROUGHLY 50,000 MILES. THIS MORNING, I ENTERED MY CAR (WHICH HAD BEEN PARKED FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND HAD NOT BEEN USED), AND MY FRONT PASSENGER HEAD REST DEPLOYED. UPON INSPECTING THE HEAD REST, IT LOOKS AS IF THE MOLDED PLASTIC PIECE THAT HOLDS A SECURING/FASTENING PIN IN PLACE BROKE. I AM UNABLE TO RESET THE HEADREST DUE TO THE BROKEN/DEFECTIVE PIECE. I VISITED SEVERAL JEEP OWNER FORUMS, AND IT SEEMS AS IF THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAPPENS TIME AND AGAIN. IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED. I WAS LUCKY NO ONE WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT WHEN THE HEAD REST DEPLOYED. I HOPE THE SAME THING DOES NOT HAPPEN TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEAD REST (PARTICULARLY, WHILE I'M DRIVING).
P0032 CODE CAME UP WENT FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. WENT TO GET IT LOOKED AT. TECH THEN TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A MISS DRILL OF THE HEADS CAUSING THE MISFIRE TO HAPPEN. THE TECH THEN ALSO STATED IT WAS A KNOWN MOPAR ISSUE IN JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LINE.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST SPONTANEOUSLY POPPED OPEN. *TR
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING CRACKED. CAUSE OIL LEAK CLOSE TO EXHAUST. IT IS MADE OF PLASTIC. LEAKING OIL. COST US $900 TO REPAIR. SHOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE IN A 6 YR OLD CAR. MANY COMPLAINTS OUT THERE.
UCONNECT SYSTEM NOT WORKING PROPERLY. IT ALWAYS SAYS THAT I NEED TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN UPGRADE BUT WHEN I CHECK THE UCONNECT SIGHT, IT STATES THAT THERE IS NO UPDATE AVAILABLE. I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO RESET MY STEREO SYSTEM. THE SCREEN IS BLACK ALMOST EVERYTIME I GET INTO MY VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE GLENDALE CHRYSLER JEEP LOCATED AT (10070 MANCHESTER RD, SAINT LOUIS, MO 63122) FOR AN INSPECTION AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK WAS LEAKING FLUID AND EVENTUALLY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. NO WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,108.
VEHICLE PUTS UP A SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE THEN PUTS UP A SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE. ALL POWER IN THE CAR IS DISABLED AND THE CAR INVOLUNTARILY SLAMS INTO A RANDOM GEAR, SOMETIMES 1ST, SOMETIMES 7TH, OTHER TIMES NEUTRAL. AFTER MANY FAILED ATTEMPTS FOR A FIX AT LOCAL DEALERSHIPS, I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE ON FRIDAY, MARCH 6TH 2020. IM DRIVING GOING AROUND 45 MPH. THE POWER SUDDENLY CUTS OFF AND MY JEEP IS LOCKED IN NEUTRAL WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. NO HEADLIGHTS OR HAZARDS WOULD WORK. I PUSH THE POWER BUTTON TURNING THE ENGINE OFF TRYING TO RESTART. NO POWER OTHER THAN INTERIOR LIGHTING. MIND YOU, I'M STRANDED ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN AND SNOW IN THE DARK WITH NO HAZARDS. I HAD TO CALL 911 AND HAVE THEM BLOCK THE STREET SO I COULD PUSH THE CAR OFF THE ROAD INTO THE GRASS. ONCE AGAIN AT THE DEALER AND AFTER 6 DAYS THEY HAVEN'T ANY CLUE WHAT IS WRONG. THEY NEED A RECALL FOR WHATEVER IS GOING ON HERE. MY LIFE WAS IN SERIOUS DANGER BECAUSE OF A FAULTY PRODUCT.
