I PURCHASED A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED FOR $46,000 FROM DOTHAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 17TH, 2013. WE DROVE OFF THE AT 8:30 P.M. THAT EVENING. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 19TH, AT APPROXIMATELY 4:00 P.M. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AFTER HAVING JUST LEFT MY JOB AT THE WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF' OFFICE, WHERE I AM THE PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER, MY VEHICLE'S SCREEN FLASHED A WARNING THAT READ: VEHICLE GEAR SHIFT MALFUNCTION. THE SCREEN WENT COMPLETELY BLACK FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE. WHEN IT CAME BACK ON THE SCREEN READ: PLEASE SERVICE TRANSMISSION FOLLOWED BY TURN OFF IGNITION TO ENGAGE PARK. I TRIED TO TURN OFF IGNITION, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND THE WARNING THEN READ: VEHICLE MUST BE IN PARK TO TURN OFF IGNITION. THIS ENDLESS CIRCLE CONTINUED AS I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR AT A GAS STATION PARKING LOT. I SAT IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE GAS STATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 5-7 MINUTES WHERE I DOCUMENTED (VIA CELLPHONE CAMERA) THE REPEATED MESSAGES AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN MY ENGINE OFF AND SIMULTANEOUSLY ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THE GEARS WOULD NOT DISPLAY. THERE WAS NO WAY TO SEE IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, OR WHAT GEAR IT WAS IN AT ALL. AFTER STRUGGLING WITH THE VEHICLE FOR CLOSE TO 7 MINUTES, I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO TURN THE IGNITION OFF. WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE LIGHT WAS ON. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP (AS NOTED ABOVE) IMMEDIATELY. I WAS ASSURED BY THE SALESMAN THAT THIS "HAPPENS ALL THE TIME TO JEEPS". THIS WAS MY FIRST MAJOR CONCERN WITH NOT ONLY THE VEHICLE, BUT ALSO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE A FULL TEAM OF CERTIFIED MECHANICS THAT WORK FOR OUR OFFICE. I MET WITH EACH OF THEM AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT A COMMON THING FOR ANY VEHICLE. MY CRUISE CONTROL IS NOW COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V643000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS). HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I STARTED MY CAR AND THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD NOT DISPLAY ON THE SCREEN. I COULD PUT THE CAR IN GEAR AND DRIVE IT, BUT THERE WAS NO SPEEDOMETER ETC. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, WHEN THE DISPLAY SUDDENLY BEGAN TO WORK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO DRIVE INDEPENDENTLY AND THERE WAS A SUDDEN ACCELERATION; AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A BARN. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THE CRASH STOPPED THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING; HOWEVER, THE WHEELS CONTINUED TO SPIN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2014 GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED, AND HAVE HAD VIBRATION ISSUES SINCE I PURCHASED. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES, AND NOW HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH CHRYSLER TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE STEERING WHEEL AND SEATS SHAKE AT SPEEDS FROM 70-80. *TR
AFTER TAKING MY NEW JEEP INTO DEALER BECAUSE THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WERE 16 STORED CODES BUT THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEM AND THE COMPUTER WAS RESET. TWO DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AGAIN CAME ON. I TOOK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD "THERE IS A LEAK IN THE FUEL TUBE" WE HAVE TO REPLACE IT BUT WE WILL HAVE TO ORDER THE PART; WE DON'T HAVE IT IN STOCK. I WAS TOLD "IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE"...A LEAK IN THE FUEL TUBE-WHAT THE HECK IS LEAKING-IS SAFE. OK, BUT TWO TRIPS TO THE DEALER WITH LESS THAN 2,500 MILES IS A BIT MUCH. I HAVE A 2006 JEEP, SAME MAKE/MODEL THAT HAD 1ST MAJOR REPAIR (WATER PUMP) AT 145,000 MILES....SO MUCH FOR IMPROVED MODELS. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A HARBINGER OF FUTURE ISSUES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ONCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A MALFUNCTION WITH THE OIL PRESSURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

OCCURRENCE: 5 TIMES TO DATE FREQUENCY: RANDOMLY SPEED: LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 50 MPH EACH TIME ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL: ALWAYS OFF, NEVER ON VEHICLE MILEAGE: ~ 3,200 THE CAR RANDOMLY APPLIES THE BRAKES EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NO OBJECTS IN THE ROAD (FRONT, REAR OR SIDES) AND NO PENDING ACCIDENT. OUT OF THE FIVE TIMES, TWO OF THOSE TIMES SO HARD THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. TO DATE NO ACCIDENTS, BECAUSE NO CARS HAVE BEEN AROUND WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE A FAMILY AND AM AFRAID TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE OR LET THEM DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER ONCE FOR THIS ISSUE AND WILL NOW GO IN A SECOND TIME BECAUSE THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED. ON 8-1-2013 OUR 2 WEEK OLD NEW 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WHEN STARTED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD NOT COME ON AND STAYED BLACK. I RESTARTED THE JEEP AND THE CLUSTER CAME ON. THEN ON 8-8-2013 THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WENT BLACK AND STAYED OFF FOR OVER FIFTEEN MINUTES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM CONCERNED FOR MY WIFE AND DAUGHTERS SAFETY. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER YESTERDAY AND AM CALLING THE DEALERSHIP TODAY TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE. WHEN USING THE REMOTE START... THE CAR DOES TURN ON. HOWEVER, IT DOESN'T REMEMBER SETTINGS OR ADJUST INSIDE OPTIONS (HEATED SEATS, STEERING WHEEL, DEFROSTERS) IN THE SUMMER THE A/C DOESN'T TRN ON. WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR THAT'S WHEN THE SETTINGS TURN ON. SYSTEM IS NOT RUNNING AS DESIGNED. *TR
VEHICLE HAS AN OSCILLATING VIBRATION AT ANYTIME WITH NO REASON. IT HAPPENS AT ALL DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND ROAD CONDITIONS. *TT
WHEN VEHICLE REACHES OF 38 MPH AND ABOVE,MOST OF THE TIME A VIBRATION OCCURS. THE VIBRATION CAN BE FELT IN THE SEAT , THE FLOORBOARD AND STEERING WHEEL . ONCE AT 70 MPH THE VIBRATION CAN BE SEEN IN THE STEERING WHEEL.THIS 2014 GRAND CHEROKEE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THE ISSUE NEVER RESOLVED. THEY SAID IT COULD A TRANSMISSION , BUT NOTHING WAS EVER DONE. WHEEL ALIGNMENT HAS ALSO BEEN A PROBLEM. *TR
S10 APPROPRIATE HANDLING- LETTER TO THE SECRETARY FROM CONSTITUENT RE COPY OF A LETTER TO FIAT CHRYSLER CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER SERGIO MARCHIONNE REGARDING A JEEP CHEROKEE SAFETY RECALL. *SMD FOR MONTHS THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR RECALL #14V643000. IN NOVEMBER 2014, THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO GET ONE OF THE RECALLS RECTIFIED ONLY BECAUSE SOMEONE DID NOT SHOW UP FOR THE APPOINTMENT. ALSO, THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. *JB UPDATED 08/03/15. *JB
Since purchasing the 2014 Jeep GC Overland with a v6 engine new in 2013 I have had an occasional problem where it shifts unexpectedly from auto to manual (paddles not touched) on acceleration from a slow/stopped position. Problem has happened every year of ownership including April 2023! Local dealer and manufacture have tried to find and fix the problem with limited success over the years. Most of my complaints are in the car's file with dealer/manufacture. The transfer case was recalled on the 2014 year Jeep GC Overland V6 but they said mine was not included however the symptoms are the same. This exclusion was based on my vin which indicated that it had a different trans case but I am not sure that they both should have been recalled if different. Again this safety problem was experienced in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
FIRST INSTANCE: AT VEHICLE STARTUP, ELECTRONIC GAUGE CLUSTER IMMEDIATELY POSTED "SERVICE IMMEDIATELY" WARNINGS FOR ABS, AIR BAGS, 4X4 SUSPENSION, PARKSENSE, AMONG OTHERS. SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT OPERATIONAL. UNSURE IF BLIND SPOT MONITORING WAS OPERATIONAL. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. TURNING OFF IGNITION, OPENING DOORS, AND WAITING SEVERAL MINUTES DID NOT CLEAR THE ISSUE. AFTER WAITING OVERNIGHT, EVERYTHING WAS OPERABLE. AT FIRST SERVICE VISIT, DEALER RECONFIGURED PCM PER CHRYSLER AND RETURNED VEHICLE. SECOND INSTANCE: APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS LATER, THE ABOVE ISSUE RECURRED. WE COULD NOT MAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE ISSUE RECURRED ONCE MORE. THIS TIME, WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO DEALER. WHILE SERVICE WAS CLOSED, WE ASKED SOMEONE TO VERIFY THE CONDITION AND DOWNLOAD CODES. WE CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS ASSIGNED A CASE MANAGER. AT SERVICE VISIT, THE DEALER STATED THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THIS EVER HAPPENING, AND I TOLD THEM I HAD SEEN SEVERAL CASES ON JEEP INTERNET FORUMS OF AN ABS MODULE BEING REPLACED. AFTER SPEAKING WITH JEEP, DEALER INSTALLED NEW ABS MODULE. ALSO, WE WERE GIVEN A RENTAL CHRYSLER 300C FOR ONE DAY DURING THIS VISIT, AND IT FAILED TO START THE MORNING WE HAD IT DUE TO AN APPARENT ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND HAD TO BE TOWED FROM OUR GARAGE. JUST TWO WEEKS AFTER THE JEEP HAD THE ABS MODULE REPLACED, WE HAVE YET TO SEE RECURRENCE. HOWEVER, WHEN I ASKED CHRYSLER CASE MANAGER IF ALL SYSTEMS DISPLAYED AS NEEDING SERVICE DURING THIS ISSUE WERE TRULY MECHANICALLY WORKING OR NOT, SHE SAID THEY "PROBABLY" WERE. WHEN I QUESTIONED THAT RESPONSE, SHE STATED THE BEST THING TO DO WOULD BE TO PULL OVER AND HAVE VEHICLE TOWED IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SHE WOULD NOT CONFIRM THAT OTHER VEHICLES HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE OR IF THE ABS MODULE FIX WAS SUCCESSFUL IN THOSE CASES. *TR
A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER GETTING MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HOME AFTER PATIENTLY WAITING 8 WEEKS FROM THE TIME I ORDERED IT TO PICK IT UP, I NOTICED THAT THE RADIO CHANNELS ALL HAD A SLIGHT STATIC IN THE BACK GROUND AND EVERY STATION WAS MAKING A POPPING NOISE EVERY FEW MINUTES. THE RADIO DOES NOT SOUND GOOD. AFTER TAKING IT IN FOR THE FOURTH TIME TO TRY AND REPAIR THIS PROBLEM, I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT HAVE A REPAIR FOR THIS AT THIS TIME. ALONG WITH THE POOR SOUND OF THE RADIO, A COUPLE OF TIMES I HAVE GONE TO START THE VEHICLE AND ALL OF MY PRE SET SIRIUS STATIONS WERE GONE. THIS IS VERY UNACCEPTABLE TO ME TO PAY THIS MUCH FOR A VEHICLE THAT HAS A MAJOR FAULT AND CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT MAKE ME PAY FOR RENTAL CARS WHILE THEY COULDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM OR GIVE ME ANY HOPE OF FIXING IT IN THE FUTURE. I WAS TOLD BY THE LAST DEALERSHIP THAT I TOOK IT TO THAT THE RADIO IS AS GOOD AS IT IS GOING TO GET. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS ALLEGEDLY BEEN REPAIRED BY THE DEALERSHIP ON FRIDAY FOR THE SAME ISSUE I HAD TODAY. VEHICLE KEEPS JUMPING OUT OF DRIVE AND GOES INTO NEUTRAL. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. WHILE I WAS TRYING TO TURN LEFT THE VEHICLE JUMPED INTO NEUTRAL LEAVING ME TO FACE TRAFFIC COMING TOWARDS ME. I HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THEN PUT THE VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVE TO PULL AWAY. THANK GOD I WAS ONLY TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED AND THE OTHER VEHICLES HAD TIME TO SLOW DOWN BEFORE HITTING ME. EITHER JEEP /CHRYSLER OR MY DEALERSHIP IS LYING WHEN THEY SAY THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN FIXED! *TR
HUGE ISSUE ? FIVE TIMES NOW, AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE DASHBOARD HAS LIT UP "BRAKE" IN RED AND THE VEHICLE WILL START BRAKING FOR NO REASON. I WILL NOT HAVE THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND TWO OF THE FOUR TIMES, THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND ME. THIS WOULD SEEM TO BE A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD FOR MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. THIS VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 3500 MILES ON IT WHEN THE FIRST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED. *TR
DOUBLE PARKED MY VEHICLE IN A BUSY URBAN RETAIL COMMERCIAL AREA IN HOBOKEN, NJ AND LEFT IT RUNNING WHILE I WENT INTO A STORE TO PICK SOMETHING UP QUICKLY. WHEN I RETURNED THE CAR WAS GONE. IT HAD BACKED ITSELF UP HALFWAY DOWN THE BLOCK AND TURNED INTO TRAFFIC, CROSSED 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND SMASHED INTO A CAR PARKED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE REAR QUARTERPANEL. COULD HAVE RUN SOMEONE OVER, COULD HAVE MOWED DOWN A BUNCH OF KIDS, WHO KNOWS!?! THE ELECTRONIC SHIFTER IN THE JEEP SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN PARK BUT WAS ACTUALLY IN NEUTRAL. IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL WITH NO TACTILE FEEDBACK, ALL THE GEARS FEEL THE SAME TO THE TOUCH.

TO SUM UP THE ISSUE, I HAVE THE AUTOBRAKING FUNCTIONALITY TURNED OFF AND THE VEHICLE WILL SPORADICALLY BRAKE ON ITS OWN WHEN APPROACHING ANOTHER CAR/OBJECT AS PART OF THE ANTI-COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM. CHRYSLER GIVE THE OPTION OF TURNING THE BRAKING OFF OR ON, AND I HAVE IT SET TO "OFF" BUT THERE IS NO SOLUTION AS THEY CANNOT NOW DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM (IT'S SPORADIC). I USED TO BE ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH OTHER TECHNOLOGY ERRORS I WAS RECEIVING AND THEY FIXED THE ISSUE INITIALLY, BUT IT'S NOW SPORADIC. WITH VEHICLE IN PARK, WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE, PUSHING BUTTON TO EITHER TURN THE VEHICLE ON OR OFF CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD. INTERMITTENT OCCURENCES, UNABLE TO REPRODUCE FOR THE MECHANIC. HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS VEHICLE 6 TIMES OVER AN 8 WEEK PERIOD.
WHEN GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE I LOCK THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE , WHEN WALKING AWAY THE CAR WILL UNLOCK. *TR
I NOT ONLY DID I HAVE PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT BELT. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY DASH BOARD THE IS A RECALL AND THAT HAS BEEN SINCE 02/2020 AND IT STILL HASN'T BEEN REPLACE. NOT ONLY THAT I HAD TO REPLACE BRAKES ROTOR CALIPER ON ALL FOUR TIRES WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IT HAD 23,599 MILES AND WHEN I REPLACE THEM THE MILES 31,00 MILES. I WAS WORKING THEM BUT SOCIAL SECURITY TOLD ME I COULDN'T WORK AND GET BENIFITS. SO I HAD TO QUIT THE JOB. HOW I AM I SUPPOSE TO PAY $728.11 CAR PAYMENT AND INSURANCE. AND PAY FOR REPAIRS TO. I GOT THE CAR 08/31/2018

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT GEARS AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. I'VE OWNED MY '14 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED FOR FOUR MONTHS. IT HAS NOW BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I TURN ON THE JEEP AND ALL OF THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS GO ON, INCLUDING THE ABS, EMERGENCY BRAKE, TRACTION CONTROL, AIRBAG ETC. THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK AND STILL ALLOWS ME TO DRIVE. THE INITIAL CYCLE TELLS ME TO SERVICE THE ABS AND AIRBAGS. THE REAR PARKING SENSOR ALSO DOES NOT FUNCTION. I WAS TOLD THE ABS MODULE WAS FAULTY THE FIRST TIME AND THEY REPLACED IT WITH A NEW ONE. AGAIN, I AM BEING TOLD THAT THE ABS MODULE IS FAULTY. I HAVE A FEELING JEEP HAS NO CLUE WHAT THE REAL ISSUE IS. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN. THERE WERE 3 FLASH UPDATES FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND NONE OF THE ADDRESSED HE PROBLEM. THE ROUGH SHIFTING, JERKING OF THE VEHICLE AND EXTREMELY HIGH RUNNING RPM'S MUST BE DOING FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE POWER TRAIN. THERE IS NO SMOOTH SHIFTING FROM 1-2-3 NOR IS THERE FROM 3-2-1. GETTING ON AND OFF THE HIGHWAY IS ALWAYS INTERESTING. TRYING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE FEELS BOGGED DOWN AND TAKES SOME TIME TO SHIFT TO THE NEXT GEAR. YOU ARE GIVING IT GAS AND IT JUST IS STUCK IN 3-4 OR 5TH GEAR AND YOU ARE PUTTING ON THE HIGHWAY TRYING TO GET ON AND THEN OUT OF NO WHERE THE TRANSMISSION UNLEASHES AND THE CAR JUST TAKES OFF. GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY ON AN EXIT RAMP ANY TIME OF SLOW DOWN (FAST OR GRADUALLY) THE CAR JUST WHINES AND THE RPM'S ARE WAY IN THE RED, SINCE THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT DOWNSHIFT PROPERLY. AGAIN BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER THAT SOLD IT TO ME FOR ALL THE FLASH UPDATES AND ANOTHER VISIT TO SAY IT IS STILL NOT OPERATING PROPERLY AND THEY TOLD ME TO RUN IT IN SPORT MODE OR TURN OFF THE ECO BUTTON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT NEEDED A NEW INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND IT WOULD BE 3 TO 5 DAYS TO GET THE PART. THE DEALER TRIED TO GET ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE AND BRING IT BACK WHEN THE PART CAME IN SINCE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAME BACK ON. I TOLD THEM I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DOING THAT. THE VEHICLE STALLED FOR NO REASON. IT TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS (APPROX 10 TIMES) TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT WOULD START AND I COULD DRIVE 40-50 YARDS AND WOULD STALL AGAIN. MULTIPLE LIGHTS CAME ON SUCH AS VEHICLE IN GEAR (IT WASN'T), ETC. ONCE IT DID RESTART AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. THE VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS TWICE NOW WITHOUT CAUSE (I HAVE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 4 WEEKS). THE JEEP DEALERSHIP KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR A COUPLE DAYS. THEY WERE FINALLY ABLE TO RESET THE CODES AND DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE. I FOUND OUT A CRANK SENSOR HAD BEEN REPLACED BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE.THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT GUARANTY IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN AND TO CHECK BACK IN THE NEAR FUTURE AS ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE UPDATES MAY BECOME AVAILABLE. *TR

RECENT REPAIRS WERE THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH HAVE BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITHIN MONTH OF PURCHASE. THE JEEP WOULD NOT GO HIGHER THE 2ND GEAR. DEALER HAD TO REMOVE CERTAIN CODES, REPLACE WITH NEW CODES AND REPROGRAM THE TCM CONTROL MODULE. THIS HAS BEEN DONE MANY TIMES. JUST LAST MONTH, THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS JUST BEGAN TO FALL APART. DEALER HAD TO SEND JEEP TO A BODY SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THE JEEP IS IN MINT CONDITION AND AWAYS HAS. IT'S SERVICE RECORD IS PROOF OF PROPER MAINTEANCE ON SCHEDULE. ON ONE OCCASION AFTER THE DEALER ATTEMPTEDTO FINX THE LIGHTS FROM GOING OUT AND HAD THE JEEP FOR SEVRAL WEEKS, THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY GO THE LIGHTS TO AT LEAST NOT GO OUT BUT IT STILL HAS A SLIGHT FLICKER. WHEN I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP THAT'S NOT FIXED RIGHT, THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY CONSIDERED THE REPAIRS COMMERCIALLY ACCEPTABLE. IT'S BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE I HIRED AN ATTORNEY TO ADDRESS THIS UNDER THE LEMON LAW BUT CHRYSLER CONTINUES TO DRAG THIS ISSUE OUT WITHOUT ADDRESSING THE SAFETY ISSUES MY FAMILY CONTINUES TO ENDURE ON A DAILY BASIS . ASKING THE ATTORNEY TO BECOME MORE INVOLVED, I WAS TOLD THEY HAVE TO DO WHAT THE LAW ALLOWS
CONTINUOUSLY EXHIBITING PERSISTENT PROGRESSIVELY WORSENING LIFE-THREATENING TRANSMISSION AND ELECTRICAL FAILURES. TRANSMISSION STICKS IN LOW GEAR AND WILL NOT UPSHIFT, TRANSMISSION STALLS, PUSH GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENS, ALMOST HIT NUMEROUS TIMES, GEARS JERK, RPMS REV UP AND SPEED INCREASES WHEN APPLYING BRAKES, WILL NOT SLOW DOWN THEN BOUNCES TO A STOP, INTERIOR LIGHTS SHORT OUT, DOORS DO NOT LOCK, ELECTRONIC CHIRPING SOUND FROM ENGINE EVEN WHEN OFF, TOUCHSCREEN/RADIO/CLIMATE CONTROLS DO NOT WORK, TOTAL OF 45 DIFFERENT DEFECTS, CONTINUOUS SINCE DAY PURCHASED, SENT 2 WRITTEN NOTICES TO CHRYSLER, HAS BEEN 8 MONTHS AND NO ONE WILL HELP, INCREASINGLY FEARFUL FOR SAFETY. TOTAL OF 43 DAYS IN SHOP AND 14 ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR SAME SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECTS AND CONDITIONS. *TR
