THE POWER STEERING RACK HAS A SLIGHT LEAK, WHICH WAS DISCOVERED SHORTLY AFTER THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED.
ON SUNDAY, JUNE 3, 2018, I ENTERED THE LEFT FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT OF MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (WHICH IS ALWAYS PARKED INSIDE MY ENCLOSED GARAGE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) AND IMMEDIATELY DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER'S HEADREST WAS IN A PROTRUDING POSITION. DURING A CLOSER EXAMINATION, I DISCOVERED THAT PART OF THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM USED TO KEEP OF "TELESCOPING" HEADREST (DESIGNED TO DEPLOY DURING A TRAFFIC COLLISION) HAD BROKEN LOOSE, WHICH CAUSED THE HEADREST TO DEPLOY. *PHOTOS ARE ATTACHED. SUBSEQUENTLY, I CONDUCTED A SEARCH ON SEVERAL JEEP (CHRYSLER) WEBSITES AND QUICK DISCOVERED THAT OTHER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OWNERS HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME INCIDENT. FURTHERMORE, WHEN I EXAMINED SOME OF THEIR PHOTOS WITH MY PHOTOS, I COULD CLEARLY SEE THAT THE FAILURE INVOLVES TWO SMALL PLASTIC LATCHES THAT HOLD A SMALL METAL ROD IN PLACE; WHICH IN TURN HOLDS THE HEADREST IN AN "UN-DEPLOYED" POSITION UNTIL NEEDED. IN ADDITION, I DISCOVERED THAT NUMEROUS JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OWNERS HAD CONTACTED JEEP CHRYSLER, AND THE JEEP CHRYSLER CORP. HAD TOLD MANY OF THE OWNERS EFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM, THAT IF THEIR VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE THE 3YEAR/36MONTH WARRANTY, AND JEEP CHRYSLER WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR. SINCE DISCOVERING THE INCIDENT, I FIND THIS DESIGN TO BE CRITICAL TO THE SAFE OPERATION OF MY VEHICLE AND IF IN FACT THE HEADREST HAD DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, I FEEL IT WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY CAUSED A SERIOUS INJURY TO ME (OR MY PASSENGER BASED ON THE SAME DESIGN), OR IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A MAJOR TRAFFIC COLLISION WHICH MIGHT HAVE LED TO UNINTENTIONAL FATALITY. SEAT BELTS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES HAVE FRAYED
IT'S BEEN SINCE MAY 2018 WITH IN/OUT VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A CONSTANT PROBLEM. MY STEERING WHEEL WOBBLES OVER 70MPH ON MY 2015 GRAND CHEROKEE WK2 HIGH ALTITUDE, ALL STANDARD FEATURES. THIS STARTED AFTER 26K MILES AND NOW I HAVE 39K MILES. I'VE RESEARCHED DOZENS OF FORUMS AND READ THROUGH TSBS WITH NO SOLUTION. I HAD THE DEALER REPLACE THE TIRES, TWICE, WITH MICHELIN PREMIER LTX 20INCH TIRES, SEVERAL ROAD FORCE TESTS, HIGH SPEED BALANCES, SEVERAL ALIGNMENTS, RACK AND PINION REPLACED, FRONT WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLIES REPLACED, ALL NEW SHOCKS AND AFTER ALLLLLLLLLLL OF THAT, SHE STILL WOBBLES!!!!!!! THE DEALER HAS THROWN THEIR HANDS UP AND WILL NOT HELP ME ANY FURTHER. THE STEERING WHEEL ONLY WOBBLES BETWEEN 70-80MPH. ANOTHER CUSTOMER'S WHEELS WERE PLACED ON MY CAR AND TESTED WITH SAME ISSUE. PRIVATELY OWNED ALIGNMENT CENTERS ALSO CONFIRMED A SPOT ON ALIGNMENT AND WHEEL BALANCE. ALL BUSHINGS APPEAR TO BE INTACT. THE JEEP IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY.
I'VE NOTICED THAT MORE THAN 90% OF MY VISIBLY IS OBSTRUCTED BY THE WINDSHIELD FRAME, DOOR FRAME AND MIRROR. THERE IS A MAJOR BLIND SPOT, MAKING THIS VERY DANGEROUS TO VIEW ONCOMING TRAFFIC, OR A PEDESTRIAN.
THE TRANSMISSION FREQUENTLY SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL OR PARK, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT. THE TRANSMISSION FREQUENTLY WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE, WITHOUT MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS THE TRANSMISSION FREQUENTLY WILL NOT GO INTO PARK WITHOUT MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING FREQUENTLY ACTIVATES FOR NO REASON AND STOPS THE CAR THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIRS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, YET STILL EXHIBITS SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUES. *TT *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON A 2-LANE ROAD, OUR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ECODIESEL BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BEGAN GOING OFF SEEMINGLY RANDOMLY, AND THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE QUICKLY PULLED OVER AND PUT IN A SAFE CONDITION ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS THE ENGINE STALLED. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART. AFTER 2 MONTHS OF TROUBLESHOOTING WITH CHRYSLER ENGINEERING, OUR SHOP BELIEVES THEY HAVE FOUND THE ISSUE, WHICH IS A FAULTY TONE WHEEL IN THE DRIVETRAIN, AT WHERE THE ENGINE COUPLES TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE TONE WHEEL LOST ABOUT 1/4" OF ENCODED MAGNETIC MATERIAL, AND THIS MADE THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE, EVEN WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS FAILURE THREW NO CODES TO THE COMPUTER FOR THE TECHNICIAN TO INTERPRET, AND THE ONLY SYMPTOM IS THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT FIRE, EVEN THOUGH, AS A DIESEL, THERE IS NO SPARK IGNITION SYSTEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ROLLED AWAY AND CRASHED INTO A PARKING SIGN AND A BUILDING. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 337-98083. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
I HAD MY JEEP FOR LESS THAN A YEAR AND ONE DAY, FOR NO REASON, IT JUST SHUT OFF. I TOOK IT TO JEEP AND THEY SAID THE WRONG OIL WAS USED IN THE PREVIOUS OIL CHANGE. SO THEY PUT OIL IN THE TRUCK. A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER AND IT'S DOING THE SAME THING. IT'S A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. I CAN'T TAKE A CHANCE ON DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION EACH TIME.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 60MPH, SUNROOF EXPLODES WITHOUT WARNING. NO DEBRIS OR ACCIDENT OCCURRED TO CAUSE THE EXPLOSION. TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS NEITHER COLD NOR HOT. THE SUNROOF SIMPLY EXPLODED ON ITS OWN.
DURING A ROUTINE CHECK OF VEHICLE FLUIDS, I DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY. THE DEALER SAID "POWER STEERING RESERVOIR IS LOW FROM FACTORY AND IS TOPPED OFF DURING SERVICE". I REPORTED THIS TO JEEP CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE, BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. I HAVEN'T NOTICED ANY STEERING PROBLEMS, BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE.
I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I ACCELERATED, MY VEHICLE WENT IN REVERSE. I QUICKLY SWITCHED THE GEAR BACK TO "DRIVE," BUT OVERCOMPENSATED AND REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. THE GEAR ON MY JEEP IS OVERLY SENSITIVE AND FLIPS FROM "DRIVE" TO "REVERSE" TO "NEUTRAL" WITHOUT MY NOTICE (I.E., IF MY ELBOW HITS IT). THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE, AS IT HAS RESULTED IN ACCIDENTS. *TT *CN
Passenger side headrest clips spontaneously broke roughly after 2-3 years of ownership, they did not break during a wreck or collision and the driver side seat is fine. I believe the headrest is supposed to detach like this during an accident but again there was nothing to prompt this happening it just seems like the clips themselves failed.
"LOW POWER STEERING FLUID". 2ND TIME TAKEN SUV TO THE DEALERSHIP, FOR POWER STEERING FLUID BEEN BELOW THE MIN MARK. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY INSPECTED VEHICLE FOR LEAKS, NO FOUND. DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IN THIS TYPE VEHICLES IS NORMAL THAT FLUID EVAPORATE AND THAT JUST NEED TO BE REFILL EVERYTIME GOES BELOW MIN. IN MY OPINION THIS IS LIKE BRAKE SYSTEM WERE FLUID DON'T EVAPORATE BUT WILL GO LOW IN THE EXISTENCE OF A LEAK. DEALERSHIP NEED TO DO AN INPECTION WITH THE VEHICLE OPERATING TO LOOK FOR LEAK SINCE IT COULD BE LEAKING STRAIGHT TO THE GROUND WHEN VEHICLE IS ON THE MOVE.
THE CAR HAS EXTENDED CRANKING AND HESITATING WHILE DRIVING DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY LIKE OTHER JEEP AND DURANGO'S WITH PUSH BUTTON STARTS. THEIR HAS BEEN RECALLS ON OTHER YEARS. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE SINCE WE BOUGHT THIS VECHOCLE NEW.
THE AIR BAG COME ON(SERVICE AIR BAG)
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL MADE AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STICKING WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT OBSERVED A PUDDLE OF FLUID UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (EAST CHESTER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 4007 BOSTON RD, BRONX, NY 10466) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER, CASKET COVER GASKET, CHAIN CASE, AND THE SEALANT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 33407052. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE GEAR SHIFTER INDEPENDENTLY MOVED OUT OF GEAR AND ROLLED FORWARD. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED TO DETERMINE IF A SOLUTION COULD BE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT *TR
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, AND SUDDENLY THE DRIVER'S FRONT SEAT HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON WITH INCREDIBLE FORCE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH NO INSULT TO VEHICLE OR REASON FOR THIS TO OCCUR. I REPORTED TO LOCAL DEALER AND THE HEADREST RESTRAINT CANNOT BE RESET. IT REQUIRES A TOTAL REPLACEMENT OF THE HEADREST THAT ISN'T COVERED UNDER STANDARD OR EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE COST OF THE PART TO REPLACE IS $846.30 PLUS LABOR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT AS THE RESTRAINT DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. THE DEALER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE WITH THIS ISSUE.
ON 12/11/17 MY VEHICLE WAS VANDALIZED. THE TIRES AND RIMS WERE STOLEN AND THE BACK WINDOW WAS BUSTED. HOWEVER ONCE HAVING MY JEEP FIXED AT THE COLLISION CENTER THE HEATED SEATS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS HEATED LEATHER SEATS, HOWEVER LATELY WHEN TURNED ON THEY BARELY GET WARM. IT ALSO HAS THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL WHICH IS FINE.
NHTSA: I HAVE BEEN IN AND AROUND THE TIRE BUSINESS MOST OF MY LIFE IN 2015 I PURCHASED A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH 20' WHEELS AND TIRES. IN DECEMBER OF 2017 I LITERALLY GOT BLOWN OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH SEVERELY DAMAGING MY VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A CERTAIN PRESSURE PER SQUARE INCH FACTOR ON WIDE TIRES AS MINE OBVIOUSLY DID NOT KEEP ME ON THE ROAD AND THEY WERE HEAVILY SIPED WINTER RATED TIRES. I RECENTLY REPLACED THEM WITH AN OVERSIZE TIRE WITH A HIGH VOID TO RUBBER RATIO THAT PUTS MORE PRESSURE PER SQUARE INCH ON THE TREAD. I ALSO EXPERIENCED HYDROPLANING IN SLUSH DURING THE WINTER. SIMPLY TO ADVOCATE FOR KEEPING QUALITY TIRES TO STAY SAFE IS NOT ENOUGH. ONE OF THE BIGGEST HOAXES UPON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IS AL ALL SEASON TIRE. THERE IS NO WAY THEY WILL MATCH THE HARD PACKED SNOW AND ICE SAFETY OF A DEDICATED ICE AND SNOW TIRE. THANKS FOR LISTENING. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION UPDATE THE SHIFTER STILL DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY
CONTINUAL ENGINE PROBLEM LIGHT DUE TO EGR SENSOR FOULED. HAVE HAD IT SERVICED NUMEROUS TIMES. CAUSES ACCELERATION ISSUES AND SHIFTING ISSUES. VEHICLE ACCELERATION CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE IN TRAFFIC WHILE MOVING AND WHEN TRYING TO ENTER TRAFFIC FROM A STOP. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THERE WAS A RECALL COMING IN FEBRUARY, BUT NOW THEY SAY THEY NEVER HEARD OF A RECALL. I AM HESITANT TO TRAVEL AND HAVE THE VEHICLE BREAK DOWN. I AM ATTACHING 5 OF THE REPAIRS THAT I CAN FIND, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN MORE FOR THE SAME REASON, AND 1 ADDITIONAL SINCE I HAVE AN APPT ON 2/18/2020 TO FIX IT IN PREPARATION FOR A TRIP FROM NY TO FL.
I'VE REACHED OUT SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS WITH MY TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH MY JEEP. I WAS TOLD FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE 2 YEARS THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO FIX IT OR THAT IT WAS JUST THE WAY THE CAR DRIVES. AFTER GETTING CHRYSLER/JEEP INVOLVED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVING A CASE MANAGER WHO WAS ABSOLUTELY USELESS, SOMEHOW AFTER 2 YEARS THEY MAGICALLY REALIZED THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY HAD THE CAR FOR OVER A WEEK AND WHEN I GOT IT BACK, IT WAS ABOUT 50% BETTER. I ASSUMED THAT WAS AS GOOD AS IT GETS SINCE JEEP DOESN'T REALLY FIX ANYTHING. AS OF THE LAST WEEK OR SO THE CAR IS NOW WORSE THAN WHEN I TOOK IT IN. IT HARD SHIFTS FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR THEN IT HARD SHIFTS DOWN FROM 3RD TO 2ND WHEN STOPPED AND THEN STUTTERS FORWARD. THE SHIFTING IS ERRATIC AND WHEN STOPPING AND THEN NEEDING TO ACCELERATE THE CAR JUST HESITATES LIKE IT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. WHICH HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST GET HIT BY ANOTHER CAR SEVERAL TIMES. IT IS A LIABILITY NOT ONLY TO MYSELF BUT TO OTHER PEOPLE. IT HESITATES ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN ACCELERATING AND LEFT ME IN A SITUATION WHERE I WAS STUCK BETWEEN TWO SEMI TRUCKS AND THE CAR BASICALLY STALLED OUT. IT SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN OR ON THE ROAD. IM GOING TO BE KILLED IN THE CAR. I DO NOT TRUST THAT JEEP KNOWS HOW TO FIX THE CAR OR EVEN HAS A FIX FOR THE ISSUE AT THIS POINT. IVE DONE RESEARCH AND IT SEEMS THAT ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2015 TRANSMISSIONS. I HAVE GIVEN JEEP SEVERAL CHANCES TO MAKE THE SITUATION RIGHT AND NOW I;M DONE DEALING WITH IT. NOW ITS A MATTER OF HOW MUCH VALUE JEEP PUTS ON A HUMAN LIFE. HOW MANY MORE LAWSUITS WILL JEEP HAVE BECAUSE OF THIS VEHICLE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WILDE CHRYSLER JEEP (1710 HWY 164 S, WAUKESHA, WI 53186) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIPM WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFTER INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED OUT OF PARK AND RESULTED IN A REAR END COLLISION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO FOLSOM LAKE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (12545 FOLSOM BLVD, FOLSOM, CA) TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN). SINCE THE REPAIR, THE CONTACT HAD NOT SEEN A DIFFERENCE IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE SHIFTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED, BUT WAS NOT DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE STATIONARY AND DRIVING VARIOUS LOW SPEEDS, THE POWER STEERING MADE A HIGH PITCHED WHISTLING NOISE WHEN TURNED LEFT OR RIGHT. ED VOYLES CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM IN MARIETTA, GEORGIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT IT WAS NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
NAVIGATION SYSTEM STOPPED SHOWING THE ACTUAL LOCATION OF THE CAR ON THE MAP. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE I COULD NOT NAVIGATE TO WHERE I NEEDED TO GO. IN ADDITION, IT DISPLAYS THE SPEED LIMIT OF THE (INCORRECT) PLACE WHERE IT PLACES THE CAR ON THE MAP. THIS COULD LEAD THE DRIVER TO GO TOO FAST OR TOO SLOW FOR THE SITUATION. THIS INCORRECT LOCATION IS DISPLAYED WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN MOTION, ON A CITY STREET OR ON A HIGHWAY, TURNING OR GOING STRAIGHT.
GEAR SHIFT SLIPS INTO REVERSE FROM THE PARK POSITION ON THE SELECTOR PANEL.
ABOUT 10 MILES INTO MY TRIP, ON INTERSTATE 81 ON STRAIGHT ROADWAY, DRY PAVEMENT; SPEED 63 MILES PER HOUR; MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOOSE POWER AND MY SPEED WAS DECREASING. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND MY VEHICLE WENT BLACK. I NOTICED SMOKE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF CAR COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WITHIN MINUTES THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. VEHICLE HAD APPROX. 16,700 MILES ON IT. UNKNOWN CAUSE.
WHILE I WAS PUMPING GAS, FUEL STARTED POOLING UNDER MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOO SCARED TO START IT DRIVE IT, SO, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. A WEEK AND A HALF LATER, I'M STILL WITHOUT A CAR AS THE DEALER IS AWAITING A NEW GAS TANK TO BE DELIVERED. THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE GAS TANK!!!! WHAT IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY!!!! I AM SO DISAPPOINTED AND SCARED NOW TO EVEN DRIVE IT WHEN IT GETS FIXED. NOT A COMFORTING FEELING THAT I COULD'VE EXPLODED.
I HAVE A 2015 GRAND CHEROKEE THAT HAS BEEN IN FOR THE ROLLAWAY RECALL. TONIGHT I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT, GOT OUT OF THE CAR QUICKLY TO SEE HOW FAR I PULLED IN, AND THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. I THOUGHT THE CAR WAS IN PARK BUT IN TURN IT WAS NOT. THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE. PREVIOUS TO TONIGHT I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN AND AS SOON AS YOU LET GO OF THE BRAKE, IF THE DOOR IS OPEN, THE "AUTO PARK" KICKS IN AND THE VEHICLE GOES INTO PARK. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. I WAS ABLE TO CATCH THE CAR BEFORE IT WENT TO FAR AND GET IT IN PARK. AFTER THAT INCIDENT I TOOK VIDEOS ON THE BEHAVIOR. REPEATEDLY GOING FROM PARK, TO REVERSE, OR DRIVE WITH THE DOOR OPEN, TAKING MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE AND EVERY TIME IT ROLLED AND AUTO PARK DID NOT APPLY. TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON A FEW TIMES AND STILL, NO AUTO PARK. ON 10/21/19 MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED MOUNT FUNCTIONED. WHILE TRYING TO SLOWLY BACK UP MY CAR IN A GARAGE THE VEHICLE SEIZED ALL DASHBOARD LIGHTS WENT OUT INCLUDING BACK UP CAMERA SCREEN. ONLY ONE LIGHT APPEARED BEFORE IMPACT WITH A POLE WHICH WAS THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT. MY FOOT WAS OFF THE GAS WHEN IT JOLTED BACKWARDS INTO A LARGE POLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE THE CAR WOULD SEIZE OR ACCELERATE INTO FIRST GEAR. IT HAS DONE THIS WHEN MY FOOT WASN'T ON THE GAS PEDDLE ASWELL. I CONTACTED SAFFORD JEEP IN SPRINGFIELD VA THREE TIMES ABOUT MY CONCERN. NOTHING WAS CORRECTED NOW I HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT WITH VERY BAD VEHICLE BODY DAMAGE. CHRYSLER HAS DONE NOTHING AND WILL NOT GIVE ME ANY ANSWERS ON THE SATUS OF THEIR INVESTAGATION. THIS HAS NOW COST ME OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE THEY WANT TO DRAW THIS OUT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,169.

I WAS TOLD BY THE JEEP SERVICE TECH THAT IT IS THE ALTERNATOR THAT HAS GIVEN OUT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT ONLY HAS 45K MILES
THE PASSENGER SEAT HEAD RESTRAINT SYSTEM ACTIVATED FOR NO KNOWN REASON WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN ANY ACCIDENT OR NO FACTORS CAUSED THIS. THE HEAD REST VIOLENTLY SHOT FORWARD APPROX 6" IF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE DRIVERS SEAT IT WOULD ALMOST CERTAINLY CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE JEEP

THE GEAR SHIFTER IS MALFUNCTIONING. THE LIGHTS ON IT ARE NOT LIGHTING UP TO SHOW WHAT GEAR I AM IN AND THE DASH SHOWS "SERVICE SHIFTER" SOMETIMES THE DASH WILL STATE N BUT I WILL BE REVERSING. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE CURRENT RECALL ON THE SHIFTER. THIS ISSUE IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT. THEY TOLD ME THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THE SAME DAY IT WAS DOING IT AGAIN.

I PUT MY CAR IN PARK IN THE GARAGE, GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND IT STARTED TO BACK UP ON ME, BENDING THE DOOR BACK AND LOOSENING THE HINGE BUT GETTING CAUGHT ON THE WALL. I THEN RECEIVED A RECALL ON THAT PARTICULAR PART AND SENT IN ALL MY INFORMATION BUT WAS DENIED COVERAGE. I AM VERY ANGRY ABOUT THIS AND REQUEST A SUPERVISOR TO CALL ME. I HAD THE SHIFT FIXED AT A LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP SINCE THEN.
AFTER WE PURCHASED THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IT WAS TAKEN IN FOR A RECALL FOR THE TCM, TO BE SERVICED AND HAVE THE POWER STEERING FLUID CHECKED FOR LEAKS DUE TO THE WELL BEING EMPTY. WE WERE THEN TOLD WHEN WE PICKED UP THE VEHICLE AND THE POWER STEERING WELL WAS DRY THAT ALL JEEPS ARE LIKE THAT. AFTER QUESTIONING THAT STATEMENT THE TECH WENT TO VEHICLE AND FILLED THE WELL. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE PART, THE VEHICLE WILL HOLD FOR 2 TO 3 SECONDS THEN BEGIN TO ROLL BACK FOR 10 TO 30 FEET DEPENDING ON THE GRADE OF THE INCLINE WHEN IN DRIVE. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC WITH THE HILL START ASSIST WHICH DOES HOLD THE BRAKES FOR THE ALLOTTED TIME. THE RECALL WAS FOR THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO PARK IF THE DRIVER TAKES OFF HIS SEATBELT AND EXITS THE CAR IN GEAR. THAT DOES WORK. THE JEEP WILL CONTINUE TO ROLL UNTIL IT JERKS ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL THEN STALLS THE MOTOR, IT WILL CONTINUE TO ROLL IF THE BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED. CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP CONTINUE TO SAY THAT ALL VEHICLES (AUTOMATICS) WILL ROLL BACK ON AN INCLINE IN DRIVE AND NOT STOP UNTIL YOU APPLY THE BRAKE NO MATTER THE DISTANCE. WE HAVE DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE CHRYSLER CERTIFIED MECHANICS AND THEY HAVE STATED THAT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE NO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHOULD ROLL BACK MORE THAN A FOOT. THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT ALL VEHICLES ROLL BACK NO MATTER THE DISTANCE. I STATED MY KIA SOUL DOES NOT EVEN MOVE AN INCH BACKWARDS IN DRIVE ON AN INCLINE, HE RESPONDED WITH"YES IT DOES". HE THEN STATED THAT "DUE TO THE LEMON LAW WE CAN NOT GUESS WHAT IS WRONG, IF WE ARE FIX IT THREE TIMES YOU CAN RETURN THE VEHICLE AND THE TIME WE HAVE PUT INTO YOUR JEEP WE ARE NOT GETTING PAID FOR ". HE ALSO STATED THAT OUR JEEP DOES NOT IDLE HIGH ENOUGH AND CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED AND CHRYSLER SAYS WE ARE RESPONSIBLE TO HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. WE DON'T WANT TO RETURN THE JEEP WE WANT IT SAFE.

MOST RECENTLY, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE DIESEL POWER WAS REDUCING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 20 MPH. THE CONTACT DROVE TO FRANKLIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 1124 MURFREESBORO RD, FRANKLIN, TN 37064, 615-266-0145) IN LIMP MODE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE DIESEL EXHAUST SYSTEM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED; HOWEVER, THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 59702313. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
OUR 2015 GRAND CHEROKEE WAS PARKED IN A STORE PARKING LOT, IN PARK BUT RUNNING. THE SHIFT INDICATOR SHOWED IT IN PARK WHEN MY FIANC EXITED THE JEEP SHE WENT INTO THE STORE,SOMEONE CAME IN AND INDICATED THAT THE JEEP WAS GOING CRAZY. THE JEEP HAD SHIFTED ITSELF INTO REVERSE, DROVE AROUND THE PARKING LOT TWICE AND FINALLY CRASHED INTO A TREE. CALLS TO FIAT/CHRYSLER HAVE BEEN LESS THAN HELPFUL BUT THEY HAVE TOLD US THAT AN INSPECTOR WILL BE COMING TO LOOK AT THE JEEP AND NOT TO DRIVE IT IN THE MEAN TIME. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT FIAT/CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF SINCE THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY WON'T PAY FOR A RENTAL OR PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE WE WAIT FOR AN INVESTIGATOR TO LOOK OVER THE JEEP.
I HAVE THE EXODIESEL SUMMIT 4X4. ON JULY 17 WAS DRIVING AT 55 MILES AN HOUR, IN THE FAST LANE, ON THE 10 FWY (4-LAN HIGHWAY) AT 5:00PM RUSH HOUR IN LOS ANGELES, CA. WITH NO WARNING OF ANY KIND, NO LIMP MODE, THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. FELT LIKE IT RAN OUT OF GAS BUT THERE WAS SHY OF 1/4 TANK LEFT OR 88 MILES TO EMPTY. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER FOUNT FAULTY FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. I MANAGED TO CROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT INCIDENT BUT THIS WAS PURE LUCK. PLEASE ADDRESS.

A TOW TRUCK WAS CALLED AND CAR TOWED TO NEAREST JEEP FACILITY THAT COULD REPAIR IT. RESULT OF PROBLEM WAS BAD ALTERNATOR. THIS IS RIDICULOUS ON A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN 2.5 YEARS OF AGE AND DRIVEN LESS THAN 3,6000 MILES.I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING OF PROBLEM UNTIL I WAS TRAVELING 150 MILES AWAY FROM HOME IN A MOUNTAINOUS AND SPARSELY TRAVELED ROAD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,000.
