VEHICLE FIRE - WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ECODIESEL, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER ON A CITY STREET AND SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE QUICKLY FILLED THE CABIN WITH CHEMICALS AND SMOKE. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS AND LUCKILY, DUE TO THE COLD TEMPERATURES, THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT BEFORE MYSELF AND THE OTHER OCCUPANT WERE BURNT UP IN THE CAR. AFTER TWO WEEKS OF INVESTIGATIONS BY THE DEALERSHIP AND FIAT CHRYSLER, THERE IS STILL NO DETERMINATION OF THE CAUSE. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW AND LESS THAN THREE YEARS OLD AND THE TIME OF OCCURRENCE. *DT*JB *DT *DT *TR *DT *TR*JB
I HAVE REPORTED A PROBLEM ON JANUARY 7, 2019 ABOUT THE VEHICLE LCD DISPLAY FAILED TO LIGHT UP WHEN I STARTING MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IN SOME OCCASION. AND LATER HAVE IDENTIFIED SOME MORE PROBLEMS. THE GPS NO LONGER WORKS, IT IS TURNING AROUND AT AN IRRELEVANT POSITION WHEN I AM DRIVING ON THE ROAD, AND THE DISPLAY FREQUENTLY PUPS UP A WARNING OF 'VEHICLE PHONE REQUIRES SERVICE, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR DEALER.' AS THE ATTACHED PHOTO. WITH AN APPOINTMENT, I BRING BACK MY CAR TO THE DEALER THIS MORNING (1/28/2019), IT DOESN'T BEEN FIXED AT THE END OF THE DAY, NOR DOES IT BEEN ABLE TO RETURN TO THE STATE BEFORE CALLBACK SERVICE, NOT EVENT BEEN ABLE TO ROLLBACK TO THE STATE AS I HAND OVER IT IN THE MORNING. THE UCONNECT SYSTEM NO LONGER EXIST ON MY VEHICLE , AND COULD NOT REINSTALLED WITHOUT RADIO SYSTEM HARDWARE BEING REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE, FOR WHICH I NEED TO PAY $890.37 AS I BEEN INFORMED OFFICIALLY DURING THE SERVICE. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED, AS MY CAR WAS VERY LIGHTLY USED (ONLY 33KMILES) AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS BEFORE THE RECALL SERVICE, AND GOT THREE UCONNECT ISSUES JUST AFTER THE RECALL SERVICE, AND THEN IN THE ATTEMPT TO FIXING THESE TREE ISSUES IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALER, THE CONTROL DEVICE WAS PHYSICALLY DESTROYED EVEN THE UCONNECT SYSTEM NO LONGER BEEN ABLE TO REINSTALLED . I AM NOT THE PERSON THAT IRRATIONALLY DENYING THE WEAR AND TEAR OF VEHICLE HARDWARE, BUT WHAT THE HELL OF THE PURPOSE OF THE RECALL SERVICE? AND WHY SHOULD I RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE CONSEQUENCE OF THE RECALL SERVICE THAT NEVER EXIST BEFORE?
CAPLESS GAS CAP CRACKED AND IT COMES RIGHT OFF HOUSING. I SCREW IT BACK IN AND DRIVE ON, PROBABLY SAFETY ISSUE. JEEP DEALER CAN ONLY ORDER ENTIRE CAPLESS FILLER ASSEMBLY. $450 PART W/INSTALL. THEY REDESIGNED FUEL FILLER ASSEMBLY ON NEWER JEEPS, BUT THIS CURRENT FAULTY DESIGN SHOULD BE RECALLED AT NO CODT TO OWNER! ALSO THE FILLER NECK BROKE RIGHT AT 36000 MILES AND COULDNT FILL WITH GAS AS IT WOULD ACT LIKE IT WAS FULL. ENTIRE JOB $600
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ECO DIESEL STARTED TO MAKE A RUMBLING NOISE, THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON WITHIN A MINUTE THE ENGINE SHUT OFF STILL AT HIGHWAY SPEED. WHEN I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER THE CAR WAS STUCK IN GEAR, WOULD NOT RESTART AND HAD A SMALL OIL LEAK. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THE CAR HAD ENGINE DAMAGE AND THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CAR HAS LESS THAN 33,000 MILES AND STILL HAS ORIGINAL TIRES, AND BRAKES. ALL OIL CHANGE SERVICES WERE PERFORMED AS SUGGESTED. CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER AUGUST 4TH, 2015.
REAR LIGHTS STOP LIGHTS AND DIRECTIONALS GOING OFF AND ON
WITH MY CAR PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND NO ONE IN IT THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED.
I HAVE PUT MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FOR A RECALL SERVICE (MFGR CAMPAIGN#: CDJR S27, CDJR U65) RECENTLY, IN WHICH I BEEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE PERSON THAT ONLY SOFTWARE WARE BEEN UPDATED FOR THIS RECALL SERVICE. SINCE THEN, THE LCD DISPLAY SCREEN WILL NOT START TO LIGHT UP IN SOME OCCASION WHEN I TURN ON MY CAR, THE SCREEN DOES NOT RESPONSE FOR ANY TOUCH AT THIS MOVEMENT, AND IT EVENTUALLY LIGHT UP AFTER 3-5MINUTES AND TURNS UP THE DISPLAY TO THE NORMAL. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS EVERY OTHER DAYS, AND MAKES ME VERY HESITATE TO BACKUP MY CAR WHENEVER IT HAPPENS, AS I GET USED OF THE BACKUP CAMERA ON THE CAR. THE PROBLEM NEVER EXIST BEFORE THE RECENT RECALL SERVICE. IN THE NORMAL WAY, THE SCREEN SHOWS THE BOOTING UP DISPLAY WHENEVER I STARTS UP MY CAR, BUT NOW, FOR SOME OCCASION, THE SCREEN KEEPS IN DEAD FOR 3-5 MINUTES AFTER THE ENGINE HAS BEEN START UP.
MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS AN EXPANSION VALVE LEAK, WHICH IS LEAKING INTO THE VEHICLE (SINCE FCA DECIDED TO INSTALL THE EXPANSION VALVE IN THE CAR BEHIND THE DASHBOARD). THE LEAK IS A SERIOUS HEALTH RISK AND ENVIRONMENTAL RISK. THE SYSTEM ALSO MAKES A CONSTANT HUMMING NOISE SINCE ITS LOW ON FREON. I HAD IT FULLY RECHARGED AND IN A MATTER OF MONTHS ALL OF THE FREON LEAKED INTO MY CAR! THIS IS POISONOUS GAS LEAKING INTO PEOPLES VEHICLES!! I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY QUOTED ME UPWARDS OF $1,700 TO FIX THE ISSUE, WHICH BASED ON OTHER ONLINE POSTINGS BY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OWNERS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE CAR. I HAVE ALSO RECENTLY UPDATED THE CAR'S UCONNECT SOFTWARE TO THE MOST RECENT VERSION RELEASED, AND NOW MY 911 PHONE OPTION AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM NO LONGER WORKS. MY UNDERSTAND IS THAT UCONNECT SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED TO USE 4G TECHNOLOGY, BUT MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS 2015 3G TECHNOLOGY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY FCA WOULD PUNISH THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS BY PUSHING THIS TYPE OF UPGRADE, IN THE PROCESS COMPLETELY MAKING THEIR CUSTOMERS NAVIGATION SYSTEMS USELESS. APPARENTLY THE PARTS ALONE ARE IN THE $1,000 + RANGE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE NAVIGATION UNIT. THE 911 PHONE OPTION SHOULD AT A MINIMUM BE A SAFETY REQUIREMENT, AND FCA PUSHING THEIR SOFTWARE UPGRADE COMPLETELY DISABLED THIS. I CALLED UCONNECT BUT THEY ARE OF NO HELP. I HAVE BEEN A LONG TIME JEEP OWNER, PURCHASING DIFFERENT MODELS OVER THE YEAR, BUT I DON'T THINK I WILL BE ABLE TO BUY ANOTHER JEEP IF FCA CAN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.

THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS INJURED AND HOSPITALIZED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. *DT*JB
OUR DRIVEWAY HAS A SLOPE. WE PARK FACING UP THE HILL AND THREE TIMES THE VEHICLE HAS ROLLED BACKWARDS WHILE IN PARK AND NOT RUNNING. ONE TIME, VEHICLE OFF, MY HUSBAND AND I WERE STILL SITTING IN IT. BRAKING APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED EASILY. TWICE THERE WAS A LIGHT COATING OF SNOW (NOT ICY) SO I COULD CLEARLY TELL THAT THE FRONT TIRES ROLLED AND DID NOT SLIDE. I DIDN'T THINK TO CHECK ALL FOUR TREAD MARKS. THIS COULD BE HUGELY DANGEROUS IF I HAPPENED TO BE BEHIND THE VEHICLE WHEN IT HAPPENS. THE VEHICLE IS NEW TO ME...PURCHASED AS USED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY DRIVERS HEAD REST COLLAPSED FORWARD.
WHEN MAKING A TURN ON A CITY PAVED ROAD MY PASSENGER SEAT HEAD REST EXPLODED!
FRONT SEAT PASSENGER HEADREST BURST WHILE DRIVING!JUST PICKED MY MOM UP FROM THE AIRPORT SHE IS COMPLAINING OF HEADACHE! IT WAS SO LOUD IT SCARED ME I WASN'T SURE WHAT HAD HAPPENEF THEN MY MOM SAID IT FELT LIKE SOMETHING HIT HER IN THE HEAD! I THOUGHT SOMEONE SHOT AT MY CAR!!! I PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THE HEADREST WAS COMPLETELY DISLODGED.I AM VERY CONCERNED IF IT HAPPENS TO ME IBEOULD LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR !! THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND I HOPE MY MOM IS OKAY!!!
ON DECEMBER 13, 2018 WE ATTEMPTED TO MOVE OUR JEEP FROM ONE PARKING SPACE TO ANOTHER. TURNING INTO THE NEW SPACE, THE POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER AT ALL. THE JEEP WAS TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO TOLD US THE POWER STEERING PUMP WOULD NEED REPLACED. THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND IT WOULD TAKE UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS TO GET IN. WE WERE FORCED TO DRIVE THE JEEP WITH THE POWER STEERING NOT WORKING. IN WINTER, IN NE OHIO. WHEN CHRISTMAS TIME CAME AND WENT, THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED US THAT THE PART WAS STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL JANUARY 30, 2019 - 7 WEEKS SINCE THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. HERE WE ARE, JANUARY 31, 2019 AND NOW THE DEALERSHIP TELLS US THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND IT WILL BE AT LEAST MARCH, 2019 UNTIL THEY CAN GET ANY REPLACEMENT. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY, 2018. AND THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED 10 MONTHS LATER. JEEP SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HAVING REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE ON THEIR VEHICLES, ESPECIALLY SOMETHING AS IMPORTANT AS POWER STEERING IN THE DEAD OF WINTER IN OHIO. VERY UNSAFE, AND VERY DISSATISFIED!
CAR SAYS SERVICE SHIFTER ON THE DASH, SHIFTER WON'T LIGHT UP AND I DO NOT HAVE TO PRESS THE BUTTON IN THE KNOB TO PUT CAR INTO GEAR, USUALLY YOU WOULD HAVE TO PRESS THE BUTTON.
NAV SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION. DISPLAYS MAP SHOWING THE CAR IN THE WRONG LOCATION. GIVES INCORRECT DIRECTIONS FOR THE (INCORRECT) LOCATION AND GIVES INCORRECT LOCAL SPEED LIMIT INFORMATION (BECAUSE IT'S GIVING THE SPEED LIMIT FOR THE WRONG LOCATION). ATTACHED IMAGE IS OF PICTURE TAKEN WHILE WE WERE ON I66, AND PICTURE SHOWS THAT THE LOCATION WAS CLEARLY NOT ON THE HIGHWAY.
I HAVE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER FOR THIS PROBLEM MORE THAN ONCE AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY ANY ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE MY EXPERIENCE. IN SHORT ON A FEW OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO CHANGE GEAR AND ACCELERATE. I WOULD BEST DESCRIBE IT AS A SURGE. THIS PAST SATURDAY (12/08/18), WHILE COMING TO A STOP A THREE WAY INTERSECTION MY JEEP ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. I ALREADY HAD BEEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE WHEN THE SURGE HAPPENED AND SINCE I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. I WAS LUCKY I DID NOT ACCELERATE INTO TWO WAY TRAFFIC. I WAS NOT SO LUCKY IN DECEMBER OF 2017. I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT (MY WIFE AND ADULT SON WERE IN THE CAR TO WITNESS THIS). WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED, I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND MY CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD. I JAMMED DOWN HARD ON THE BRAKE BUT MY CAR MADE CONTACT WITH THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME RESULTING IN A FENDER BENDER. IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE. I EXPERIENCED THIS PHENOMENON ONE OTHER TIME WHILE DRIVING ALONG AND STOPPING AT A LIGHT. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES NEARBY. AS YOU MIGHT IMAGINE, THIS HAS DESTROYED MY CONFIDENCE IN THIS VEHICLE. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND MAY CAUSE A MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENT!

TAKATA RECALL -PASSANGER HEADREST RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WHILE CAR WAS IN PARK NOT MOVING WITHOUT ANY SORT OF IMPACT. HEADREST HIT PASSENGERS HEAD AND DISTORTED PASSENGERS HEAD-CAUSE DISTORTION AND MINOR NECK PAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SEAT HEADREST EXPLODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A FRAGMENT OF THE HEADREST STRUCK THE DRIVER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADREST WAS DESIGNED AS A PREVENTATIVE SAFETY MEASURE AGAINST THE WHIPLASH EFFECT DURING A REAR END COLLISION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADREST ACTUATOR FRACTURED INTO PIECES, WHICH CAUSED THE HEADREST TO STRIKE THE CONTACT IN THE HEAD. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED PAIN IN THE BASE OF THE HEAD, BUT DID NOT RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. GENGRAS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (460 CONNECTICUT BLVD, EAST HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT 06108, (860) 289-0246) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.
SERVICE SHIFTER WARNING
NAVIGATION SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING. INCORRECT LOCATION OF CAR WAS SHOWN ON MAP. DIRECTIONS WERE NON-SENSICAL BECAUSE THE NAV SYSTEM GAVE DIRECTIONS AND SPEED ADVICE BASED ON AN INCORRECT LOCATION. THE CAR'S INDICATED LOCATION ON THE MAP SOMETIMES MOVED WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING, BUT STILL DID NOT REPRESENT THE CORRECT LOCATION. SOMETIMES THE LOCATION WOULD KEEP CHANGING BACK ONE PARTICULAR INCORRECT LOCATION. ATTACHED IMAGE SHOWS THAT WHILE IN WASHINGTON, DC, THE NAV SYSTEM WAS SHOWING THAT THE LOCATION OF THE CAR WAS ABOUT 10 MILES AWAY IN FT. BELVOIR, VA. THIS FAILURE OF THE NAV SYSTEM WAS EVIDENT IN ALL SITUATIONS: STATIONARY, MOVING, CITY, HIGHWAY, ETC.
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. IT HAS A PUSH BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH START. IT LOCKED UP AND IT COULD NOT BE TOWED BECAUSE THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER COULD NOT GET IT IN NATURAL TO MOVE IT. I WAS STRANDED FOR 12 HOURS WITH NOTHING TO EAT OR DRINK BEFORE I GOT HELP. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SHUT DOWN AND I WAS ALONE IN A VERY BAD AREA AT THE TIME. UNLESS THE VEHICLE STARTED IT WOULD DO NOTHING AND COULD NOT BE TOWED. JEEP NEEDS A RECALL ON THIS VERY UNSAFE SYSTEM. THEY SHOULD BE MADE PUT IN AN OVERRIDE SWITCH OR BE ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE WITH A KEY. I AM 76 YEARS OLD AND I WAS GOING TO START ON A 500 MILE TRIP THAT DAY. VERY GOOD THING IT HAPPEN WHEN IT DID. THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD ALONG THE ROAD WITH NO HELP. ALL PUSH BUTTON STARTS NEED A BACKUP TO GET OUT OF THIS SAFETY HAZARD. I UNLOCKED THE DOOR GET IN AND PUSHED THE START BUTTON AND NOTHING. ALL KIND OF LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND DISPLAYED A LOT OF THINGS THAT WOULD NOT WORK. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO IN OR OUT OF GEAR.
AFTER 3.5 YEARS OF NO PROBLEMS, OUR JEEP HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER SERVICE EVERY MONTH SINCE AUGUST 2018.CURRENTLY AT SERVICE SINCE 1/14/19, 15 BUSINESS DAYS. IN AUGUST: PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THE WIPERS STARTED, COULD NOT TURN THEM OFF DIFFERENT MESSAGES FLASHED 'NO BUS', AND VARIOUS OTHER MSGS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. TOOK IN TO DEALER THE NEXT DAY. RECALLS WERE PERFORMED. WE FELT, OUR PROBLEMS HAD BEEN SOLVED. THEY WERE NOT. SEPTEMBER: ARRIVED AT MY SON'S SCHOOL 7:15 A.M. WIPERS STARTED, CHIMING STARTED, MESSAGES FLASHED, TIRE PRESSURE FLASHED. TURNED ENGINE OFF, RESTARTED PROBLEM SOLVED. OCTOBER: ON BALTIMORE BELTWAY WITH MY SON'S CARPOOL IN THE CAR, WE WERE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC CRAWLING ALONG... WIPERS START, CHIMING, MESSAGES FLASHING 'SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL' AND OTHERS... THEN CAR STARTED LURCHING AND LUNGING SOMEHOW GOT IT LIMPING INTO THE DEALER... PODDED IT AND IT THREW OVER 480 CODES. IN SERVICE FOR 10 DAYS. ALTERNATOR REPLACED, DID NOT HELP. NOVEMBER: ARRIVED HOME AFTER AN 1.5 HOUR TRIP, CHIMING STARTED, MESSAGES FLASHED. BUT THIS TIME AS I REVERSED INTO DRIVEWAY, CAR THREW ITSELF INTO PARK. DECEMBER: AGAIN DRIVING CAR POOL OF YOUNG TEENAGERS, EXITED BALTIMORE BELTWAY, WIPERS START, CHIMING, MESSAGES, 'SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE', 'AUTO PARK DISABLED', SERVICE SHIFTER, ETC. ENGINE REVVING BUT WE'RE BARELY MOVING. THERE WAS NOWHERE TO SAFELY PULLOVER AND I HAVE NO IDEA IF ANY OF THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS ARE WORKING. I HAD TO MAKE A LADY TURN TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. WE BARELY MADE IT. THIS LAST EPISODE WAS THE LAST STRAW. OUR DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT HELPFUL. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANY RHYME OR REASON TO IT. LOOKS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL GLITCH. I TOOK MY CAR FOR SERVICING THIS LAST WEEKEND AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY ERROR CODES ON THE DIAGNOSTICS. I TOOK A VIDEO OF THE MALFUNCTION AND SHOWED IT TO THE SERVICE STAFF AT THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP STATES THEY WOULD HAVE TO INSTALL A SCANNER AND TEST DRIVE IT HOWEVER THE GLITCH ISN'T REPRODUCIBLE BUT RATHER SPONTANEOUS AND INTERMITTENT. VEHICLE HAS 1000,000MILES ON IT.

VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE. THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE ACCELERATION WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL AND, UPON TRYING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN , THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE VERY HARD. THE CAR ACCELERATED BRIEFLY BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. I WAS THANKFULLY ABLE TO VEER OFF OF THE INTERSTATE ON TO THE SHOULDER. AFTER REPEATED TRIES, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. ALL ELECTRONICS APPEARED TO WORK EXCEPT THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. CAR WAS TOWED TO CLOSEST JEEP DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THAT CODE P0300 WAS FOUND AND THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS NO LONGER WORKING.
WE PURCHASED 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IN 2016 APPROXIMATELY 2.5 YEARS LATER WE ATTEMPTED TO GET NEW TIRES PUT ON. WE WENT TO TIRE STORE & THEY STATED THAT THE LUG NUTS WERE DEFECTIVE.. THEY STATED THAT THE LUG NUTS WERE SWOLLEN AND IF THEY WERE TO FORCE THE LUG NUTS OFF IT WOULD RENDER THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE. AS WE HAD A LENGTHY ROAD TRIP PLANNED, WE WERE FORCED TO GO TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP. BOTH THE INITIAL SERVICE WRITER, ANDREW, AND LATER THE SERVICE MANAGER, JOHN WILSON, AGREED THE LUG NUTS WERE DEFECTIVE. BUT THEY STATED IT WAS 'FCA''S FAULT AND GAVE ME A PHONE NUMBER OF 1-877-224-5356 I CALLED FCA SAID THEY WOULD DO NOTHING ABOUT THIS SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL. I FEEL THAT WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IF WE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN A FLAT TIRE IN THE WRONG NEIGHBORHOOD AS WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PUT THE SPARE TIRE ON AND THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE BEEN INOPERABLE. WE WERE CHARGED US $311.19 AND REFUSES TO GIVE US ANY RELIEF. THE SERVICE MANAGER OFFERED AN OIL CHANGE BUT THEY ARE 45 MINUTES AWAY FROM OUR HOME AND IT IS NOT PRACTICAL FOR US TO DO THIS. I AM HAPPY THAT WE DECIDED TO GET TIRES BEFORE WE LEFT SINCE THE STORY MAY HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFERENT HAD WE HAD ANY ISSUES ON THIS TRIP AS OUR SAFETY MAY HAVE BEEN JEOPARDIZED. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE US AS WE ARE AFRAID THAT THEY LIKELY PUT DEFECTIVE REPLACEMENT LUG NUTS BACK ON. AFTER PICKING UP MY 2 YEAR OLD SON FROM DAYCARE ON DAN VALLEY ROAD (CITY STREET) IN MADISON, NC, I BEGAN TO TURN OUT OF THE PARKING LOT. WE WERE NOT IN ANY COLLISION OR HARD BRAKING OF ANY SORTS. I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY INTO THE LOWE'S IMPROVEMENT PARKING LOT TO ASSESS THE ISSUE. UPON MY OBSERVATION IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE COVERING OF THE METAL BAR (THAT WAS STILL LODGED WITHIN ITS PLACED FOR WHEN THE HEADREST IS ATTACHED) HAD BROKEN.
I HAD THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING MODULE GO OUT & ALSO HAD TO REPLACE RADIATOR AFTER DOING RESEARCH I HAVE SEEN 1,000 OF OTHER CUSTOMERS COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES AND THEY NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY DUE TO BASIC WARRANTY EXPIRED.
