There are 1 owner-reported powertrain & transmission complaints for the 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneerin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
While stopped in traffic with the brake pedal depressed and Auto Hold enabled, my 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L has repeatedly jerked and shifted itself into Park without driver input. This typically occurs after being stopped approximately 20+ seconds, often while a turn signal is activated for a left or right turn. When the failure occurs, the vehicle disables driver-assist systems, the turn signals behave like emergency flashers, false rear tail light error messages appear, and the check engine light turns on and remains illuminated. The vehicle will not move until the brake pedal is applied and the transmission is manually shifted back into Drive. The issue has occurred multiple times at different locations and dates. A recent repair replaced the vehicle’s primary electronics control module(s), but the same behavior occurred again afterward. Due to the unintended shift into Park and unpredictable system behavior, the vehicle is now parked and not being driven because I do not trust it to operate safely in traffic.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
