I JUST PURCHASED A 2002 JEEP LIBERTY WITH 30,200 MILES STILL UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY ON JANUARY 14, 2005. ON JANUARY 22, 2005 I WAS PULLING IN A PARKING LOT AND MY CONTROL ARM BROKE. I FOUND A OPEN CAMPAIGN ON THE VEHICLE ID 03V460000. I BELIEVE THAT BEFORE A DEALERSHIP CAN PUT A VEHICLE ON THEIR LOT TO SELL THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO CHECK FOR OPEN CAMPAIGNS. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE ADVISE ME ON WHAT SHOULD BE DONE. *NM
THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AND HIT A METAL POLE. THE CONSUMER REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT, BUT SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. *JB
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT 75 WHEN I STARTED HEARING A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AND MADE IT HOME . AS SOON AS I TURNED THE LAST CORNER THE STEERING LOCKED TO THE LEFT AND MADE A HUGE GRINDING NOISE THIS TIME. I STOPPED IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE, AND WHEN I GOT OUT THERE WAS STEERING FLUID EVERYWHERE! I PULLED THE BELT OFF, AND THE PULLEY WAS EXTREMELY EASY TO MOVE ALL AROUND. I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY MORE PEOPLE THAN JUST ME HAVE ALSO HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IF IT WERE TO HAVE HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY I COULD HAVE EASILY CRASHED AT 75! I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOLD ME "THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING BECUASE ITS NOT A SAFTEY PROBLEM, AND I AM THE 3RD OWNER OF THE VEHICLE" HOW THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT I DONT KNOW. I HAVE TO SPECIAL ORDER THE PART FROM JEEP BECAUSE NOBODY CARRYS IT. I WILL FIX IT MYSELF ONCE THE PART COMES IN AND REFUSE TO PAY $400 FOR SOMETHING THEY(JEEP) SHOULD REPLACE FOR FREE. THEY WILL NOT RECIEVE AND BUSINESS FROM ME. THEY ARE EXTREMLY LUCKY NO ONE WAS INJURED AND THERE ISNT A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM.*AK
MY 2002 JEEP LIBERTY LIMITED IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS DESCRIBED IN DEFECT INVESTIGATION #EA05022. MY DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE STICKS IN THE "DOWN" POSITION WHEN DEPRESSED FULLY, AND MUST BE PRIED UP USING A SCREWDRIVER OR SIMILAR DEVICE BEFORE BEING ABLE TO LATCH THE BELT AGAIN. 2002 JEEP LIBERTY - FLIP UP GLASS AND/OR REAR HATCH DOOR SOMETIMES DO NOT CLOSE DUE TO LOCK/LATCH PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. UPON GETTING UP TO 25 MILES PER HOUR, THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE PLACED THE VEHICLE IN SECOND GEAR SHE WAS ABLE TO GO A LITTLE FASTER. THE VEHICLE HAS 32000 MILES ON IT. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *JB....*AK
WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AT 5 MPH LOWER DRIVER'S SIDE BALL JOINT BROKE, AND THE VEHICLE WENT DOWN. VEHICLE WAS TOWED, AND SERVICED ON THE RECALLED BALL JOINT AT 5,800 MILES. *AK
DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT LATCH; WOULD NOT 'CLICK.'
DRIVERS SEAT SAFETY BELT DOES NOT LATCH. THE LATCHING MECHANISM IS STUCK IN THE CLOSE MODE. I CANNOT FASTEN MY SEAT BELT ANYMORE. ALSO NOTICE A MONTH AGO, THAT THE BELT WHEN LATCHED WAS SLIGHTLY STICKING. NOW DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.*AK
DEFECT IN DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT LATCH, AND I HAVE A CHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACT AND THEY SAY THAT ITS NOT COVERED, ITS A FACTORY DEFECT. PHONE INTERVIEW UPDATE: THE DRIVER SEAT BELT BUCKLE WILL NOT EASILY UNLATCH. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT.
MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS....DASH WENT DEAD, WIPERS DEAD, POWER DOOR LOCKS DEAD, TAIL GATE LATCH RELEASED, NO HEADLIGHTS, NO SPEEDOMETER, ALL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN AT NIGHT AT 65 MPH.*AK
LEFT UPPER BALL JOINT FAILED. THIS WAS THE SAME SIDE THAT WAS SHOWING DAMAGE DUE TO O3V460000, LOWER BALL JOINT FAILURE.*AK
THE REAR CONTROL ARM COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM WELD SITE WITH THE REAR AXLE. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. THIS IS WHAT SHE WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC. *AK REAR AXLE HOUSING BROKE AWAY FROM CONTROL ARM BRACKET AND FACTORY WELD SITE. CONTROL ARM AND REAR AXLE HOUSING WAS REPLACED. MANUFACTURER DENIED CLAIM. *TT
CONSUMER STATED TRANSMISSION SLIPPED. AS A RESULT, VEHICLE HESITATED IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC. *AK
BRAKES LOCKING UP IN SLIGHTEST WET CONDITION, CAR JERKING BADLY WHEN TURNING AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN (ESPECIALLY WHEN REVERSING) WHEN 4W DRIVE ENGAGED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, DUAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY . NO MAJOR INJURIES REPORTED. AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK
DRIVING 25 MPH, THE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS FAILED CAUSING THE FRONT END TO DROP ONTO THE FRONT WHEELS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. *JB THE PASSENGER'S SIDE LOWER BALL JOINT FAILED CAUSING THE FRONT END TO DROP ONTO THE PASSENENGER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RETRACT. *SC
WHILE DRIVING. THE LOWER BALL JOINT COMPLETELY FAILED. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE BALL JOINT HAS BEEN REPLACED WITHIN 1800 MILES. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS DONE THROUGH A RECALL. THE CONSUMER BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *JB
GOODYEAR TIRE/ P215/ 75R16 DOT#M6Y4EYER1702. OWNER FEELS THAT DRIVING IN THE RAIN IS TOO SCARY. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HYDROPLANE WHEN DRIVING 10 MPH OR GREATER. *JB (RECURRENT PROBLEM) THE TIRES WERE NOT WIDE OR DEEP ENOUGH ACCORDING TO THE TECHNICIAN. THERE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF TRACTION WHEN STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP ON ANY AMOUNT OF WATER AND CANNOT SAFELY TURN ON WATER. *SC
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH FRONT END BEGAN TO PRODUCE A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. DEALER STATED THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BEARING SEPARATED FROM THE AXLE. *AK
FIRST OF ALL, I ONLY HAVE 39,100 MILES ON MY JEEP LIBERTY. HAVING SAID THAT, ON THE DATE LISTED BELOW IT WAS FOUND THAT MY JEEP HAD A FAULTY VALVE SPRING IN THE 2ND CYLINDER. COST ME QUITE A BIT OF MONEY TO REPAIR. HOW IN THE WORLD DOES THIS HAPPEN TO A BRAND NEW CAR WITH ONLY A LITTLE OVER 39,000 MILES ON IT? SOUND LIKE FAULTY PARTS TO ME.*AK
LTR RE RECALLS ON HER DAIMLER CHRYSLER PURCHASED BACK IN AUGUST 13, 2001. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RECALLED MORE THAN 3 TIMES AND SUPPOSEDLY FIXED OVER 6 TIMES REGARDING THE BALL JOINTS. THE CONSUMER HAD AN ACCIDENT. THE BALL JOINT BROKE WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK. THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING AT THE SEAM. THE RIGHT FRONT HUB BEARING WAS NOISY. THE CD CHANGER WOULD SKIP AFTER A FEW SONGS. THE DEALER FOUND AN INTERNAL FAULT. THERE WAS A HEAVY CRUNCHY NOISE WHEN DRIVING, STOPPING AND MAKING TURNS. THE FRONT STABILIZER/SWAY BAR WAS REPLACED. THE RACK AND PINION WAS LEAKING. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I PULLED ONTO AN EXIT RAMP GOING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ENTERING THE SECOND TURN OF THE EXIT RAMP, THE POWER STEERING FAILED, INHIBITING THE CAR STEERING DRAMATICALLY. WAS LUCKY NOT TO LOOSE TOTAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.*AK
THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER LIFTED UP THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY ACID WAS LEAKING FROM THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK *JB
CUSTOMER IS INQUIRING ON THE POSSIBILITY OF GETTING REIMBURSED FOR EXPENSE OF REPLACING A RECALLED LOWER LEFT BALL JOINT ON A 2002 JEEP LIBERTY**CC THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A FAILURE OF THE LOWER BALL JOINTS AFTER HAVING IT REPLACED UNDER RECALL. *JB
CONSUMER HAS HAD TO REPLACE SHOCKS, DRIVE SHAFT, BRAKES AND ALL FOUR TIRES SINCE PURCHASE. THE TIRES WERE WORN AND THE NOISY WERE STRUTS, A CONSTANT THUMPING SOUND WAS HEARD WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, CREAKING NOISE WERE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS DUE TO THE FRONT SWAY BAR BUSHINGS, THE REGULATOR ON THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS NOISY, THE HANDLE ON THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS LOOSE, GRINDING NOISE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR'S WEATHER STRIP WAS COMING OFF, LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS, EXCESSIVE PLAY IN THE FRONT TIE ENDS, WATER UNDER THE DRIVER'S SIDE CARPET, RATTLING IN THE SPEAKER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, WHEN IN 4TH HIGH AND 4TH LOW, THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL, THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER WAS INOPERATIVE, THE WAS A SQUEAK IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN TURNING, THE ENGINE IDLED LOUD, THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP WHEN SHIFTING INTO GEAR, THERE WAS A DELAY WHEN BRAKING, THE AXLE BOOT WAS LEAKING. *SC
3RD TIME WORK ON A BALL JOINTS RECALL JOB THAT CAUSE DAMAGE TO BRAKES, TIE RODS ,RACK N PINION,ROTORS AND MOST OF THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. *TR
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED CONSUMER NOTICED STRESS MARKS AND THINNER TREADS LOCATED ON THE INNER AND OUTER SIDES OF THE TIRES. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *AK
THE KEY BECAME STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE KEY SOMETIMES HAS TO BE LEFT IN THE VEHICLE. *JB

HARD DOWNSHIFTING OF TRANSMISSION, SHIFTS TO HARD. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR AND VEHICLE VIBRATED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE REAR COIL SPRINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WORN OUT PARTS. *AK THE BRAKES MADE NOISE WHEN APPLIED. THE BLOWER MOTOR FOR THE HEAT FAILED AND THE A/C WAS INOPERATIVE. *NM
MY 2002 JEEP LIBERTY HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL FAILURES. IT JUST DIES... THE SPEEDOMETER GROUND WENT, THE LOCKS PLAYED HAVOC, I HAVE RETURNED THE VEHICLE 6 TIMES TO GET FIXED AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. DAIMLER CHRYSLER EVEN SENT A "TECHNICIAN" TO FIX THE PROBLEM... MY JEEP STILL SITS DEAD IN THE DRIVEWAY AT LEAST ONCE EVERY THREE WEEKS. I THEN FOUND OUT THAT THERE WERE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS BEFORE I PURCHASED THIS VERY SAME VEHICLE, BRAND NEW. CONCLUSION, DAIMLER CHRYSLER CANNOT AND OR WILL NOT HELP ME WITH THIS, EVERYONE IS CONSTANTLY ON VACATION AND CANNOT GIVE ME ANY ANSWERS. THEY DRUG THEIR FEET WITH ME BRINGING IN THE JEEP LEAVING IT FOR DAYS AT A TIME, AND NOW I CAN'T EVEN DO LEMON LAW. SINCE MY TIME EXPIRED 9 NINE DAYS AGO AND DAIMLER CHRYSLER DRUG THEIR FEET, SAYING THAT THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. *LA
I WAS TOWING A 2002 JEEP LIBERTY USING THE BLUE OX TOW SYSTEM. I FOLLOWED THE MANUFACTURERS DIRECTIONS AND PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. THE JEEP ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE AND TOTALED THE CAR. MY INSURANCE COMPANY ADJUSTERS SAID THE JEEP WAS IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO OVERHEAT, LEAK TRANSMISSION FLUID, AND START THE FIRE. FIRST OF ALL, GETTING THE JEEP IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE REQUIRES SOME EFFORT TO ENGAGE, SO I WOULD HAVE NOTICED HAD I DONE THAT. SECONDLY, I WOULDN'T HAVE DONE SOMETHING SO STUPID. I HAVE TOWED THE JEEP THE TWO PREVIOUS YEARS THE SAME WAY WITH NO PROBLEMS.*AK
ON MAY 2004 CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER REGARDING THE LOWER BALL JOINT. DEALERSHIP STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO CONDUCT THE RECALL. DEALERSHIP ASKED TO THE CONSUMER TO CHECK EVERY OTHER WEEK TO SEE IF THEY HAVE THE PARTS. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AFTER HAVING THE BALL JOINTS REPAIRED ON A RECALL. WHILE DRIVING HOME CONSUMER WAS WITHOUT BRAKES, SHE WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITHOUT INCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKED OUT AND THE BRAKE CALIPER JOINT HAD WORKED ITSELF LOOSE. VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *AK *NM
STRUCTURAL FAILURE ON 2002 JEEP LIBERTY. *MR THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE LOWER BALL JOINT HAD COME APART DROPPING TO THE ROADWAY AND DROPPING THE VEHICLES BODY OF THE FRONT WHEEL. THE VEHICLE CAREENED OF CONTROL ACROSS BOTH LANES TWICE BEFORE COMING TO A HALT ON THE BERM. THE CONSUMER HAD PREVIOUSLY COMPLAINED ABOUT STIFF STEERING, THERE WERE ALSO NOISES IN THE FRONT END. THE SERVICE DEALER SUGGESTED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. *SC *JB
AFTER MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE LOWER BALL JOINT RECALL 03V460000 REPAIRS PERFORMED CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE, AND THEY WERE ON BACK ORDER.*AK THE REPAIR DATE HAS NOT BEEN RESCHEDULED. *NM
THE BALL JOINT AXLE BROKE AS THE CONSUMER EXITED THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT THE LEFT FRONT TIRE CAME OFF OF THE TRUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP WHO ADVISED THE CONSUMER THAT THERE WAS A RECALL. *NM THIS OCCURRED WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING STALL. *SC *JB
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD OCCASIONALLY SURGE, EVEN WITH THE CRUISE ON. ON JUNE 19 THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT FROM FIRST TO SECOND PROPERLY, THEN WHEN IT SHIFTED FROM SECOND TO THIRD, IT WOULD ACT LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. DEALER SAYS WITH 69000 MILES ON A 2002, IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRATY. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN TAKEN OFF ROAD (LIKE DESIGNED) AND NOT OVERWORKED.*AK
2002 JEEP LIBERTY: SINCE PURCHASE AT 6K MILES AND 6 MONTHS OLD THE VEHICLE HAS HAD MAJOR ISSUES AND I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING IT BUT CANNOT GET A NEW CAR AT THIS TIME. TOW BILLS TOPPING $1000 SINCE PURCHASE IN 2003. BETWEEN 2003-2004 THE JEEP WAS AT THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO INTERNAL GRINDING, DIFFICULTY STEERING WHICH INCREASED WHEN BRAKING, AND FELT LIKE IT WAS IN 4HIGH ALL THE TIME. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP BUT THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT ISSUE. FIANCE WAS DRIVING & WE HEARD LOUD BANG VEHICLE STARTED JERKING & MAKING A GRINDING NOISE, THEN WE SPUN INTO A MEDIAN AND CAME TO A STOP NOT HITTING ANYTHING LUCKILY. TURNED OFF AND BACK ON AND SEEMED TO WORK FINE. IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN IN LEXINGTON, KY DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ABOUT 2 DAYS AFTER THE DEALER TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE ANTI LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM. WE LOST ALL GEARS AND STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS AT A REDLIGHT ALMOST HITTING A CAR UNTIL I PULLED UP EMERGENCY BRAKE. IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER. TRANSFER CASE HAD CRACKED AND EXPLODED AT LESS THAN 30K MILES. DEALER REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY WITH REFURBISHED PARTS. HAS BROKEN DOWN SEVERAL TIMES WITH SENSOR ISSUES & BATTERY PROBLEMS. HAS BEEN TOWED AT LEAST 3 TIMES WHEN SENSOR PROBLEM WAS NOT PROPERLY FIXED AT DEALER AND OVERLOOKED AS THE PROBLEM. ENTIRE TIME I HAVE OWNED MY JEEP THE STEERING WHEEL HAS HAD A MAJOR SHAKING AND RATTLING ACTION WHICH INCREASES WHEN APPLYING BRAKES DUE TO RECALL ON BALL JOINTS & ISSUES WITH STEERING COLUMN ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP WHEN ASKED WHY IT WILL NOT DRIVE & BRAKE SMOOTHLY. AFTER FIXING RECALL JEEP WORKED FINE FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS THEN GOES BACK TO PREVIOUS ISSUES AGAIN. BALL JOINT ISSUE CAUSES MUCH DIFFICULTY IN STEERING AND BRAKING PROPERLY AND MAKES ME FEEL UNSAFE & UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING IT. I FEEL AS THOUGH THE BALL JOINT ISSUE PRIOR TO & AFTER RECALL REPAIR HAS STILL NOT BEEN FIXED AND SEEMS TO WORSENING. *TR
MY GIRLFRIEND AND I OWN A 2002 JEEP LIBERTY WHICH WE RECENTLY TOOK TO THE DEALER FOR A BALL JOINT RECALL. WHEN WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER IF THE CAR WOULD BE RE-ALIGNED AND HE SAID THAT WILL BE $100 EXTRA. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW CHRYSLER CORP. CAN LET A CUSTOMER WALK INTO A DEALER WITH A PERFECTLY ALIGNED VEHICLE AND LEAVE WITH A CAR THAT IS TOTALLY OUT OF ALIGNMENT. HOW IS THIS FIXING A "SAFETY" PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER CREATED? HOW CAN CHRYSLER PUT SAFETY IN THE WALLETS OF IT'S CUSTOMERS?? WE ENDED UP TAKING THE VEHICLE DOWN THE STREET TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC THAT DID THE ALIGNMENT FOR $50. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER RE-CALL DEPT AND THEY DENIED MY $50 RE-IMBURSEMENT. SHOULD I GET A LAWYER INVOLVED IN THIS MATTER? I AM JUST LOOKING TO MAKE AN SUV SAFE FOR ALL IN THE FUTURE. A TRACTOR TRAILER REAR ENDED THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. UPON IMPACT, THE VEHICLE WAS PUSHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE TWICE. UPON IMPACT, NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK, BACK, SPINE AND HIP INJURIES. TWO YEARS PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT, AIR BAG RECALL 01V373000 REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE RECALL REMEDY FAILED.*AK *NM *JB
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET TO 62MPH AND WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 0 MPH; THEN, JUMPED TO 95 MPH, BUT CONSUMER WAS NOT ABLE TO DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL. TOOK TO DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPEED SENSOR HAD FAILED FOR THE 4TH TIME. *AK
2002 JEEP LIBERTY UPPER BALL JOINTS WERE FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE. *MR THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SPIN AROUND ON THE HIGHWAY BARELY AVOIDING A COLLISION. THE FRONT AND REAR TIRE HAD BOTH DEFLATED AND DETACHED COMPLETELY FROM THE RIMS. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE BALL JOINTS WERE DEFECTIVE. *SC THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE DEFECTIVE LOWER BALL JOINTS.
