I AM TRYING TO FILE A COMPLAINT TO GET THE RECALL REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE COMPLETED. I RECEIVED THE RECALL (13V252) ON DECEMBER 11, 2013. I HAVE CALLED THE NEAREST JEEP DEALER TO ME WHICH IS 30 MILES AWAY. THE DEALER IS FLOWER MOTORS IN MONTROSE, COLORADO AND I HAVE CALLED THEM MORE THAN ONCE DURING THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF AND THEY HAVE STILL FAILED TO CALL ME BACK TO SCHEDULE THIS REPAIR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, JUMPING A CURB AND CRASHING INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK, BACK AND CHEST INJURIES. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED WRIST. I WAS SITTING IN LINE AT THE PHARMACY MY 12 YEAR OLD SON WAS SITTING IN THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE SEAT WITH SEAT BELT ON THE SEAT BELT BEGAN TIGHTENING AS HE CHANGED POSITION AND EACH TIME HE BREATHED IT TIGHTENED AROUND HIS CHEST HE COULDN'T BREATHE AND RUSHED HIM TO THE FIRE STATION 1 BLOCK AWAY WHERE THEY CUT THE SEAT BELT, OTHER THAN BEING ABLE NOT TO BREATHE THERE WAS NO OTHER INJURY THANKS TO MY QUICK ACTION. WE TRIED TO RELEASE THE SEAT BELT AND IT WOULD NOT RELEASE. THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT STICKS AND SOMETIMES YOU GET STUCK AND HAVE TO RELEASE IT WITH A SMALL STICK LIKE OBJECT. *TR
THE METAL STRAPS HOLDING THE GAS TANK TO THE FRAME OF THE CAR BROKE. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE. IN ALL THE YEARS I'VE DRIVEN CARS (~50) I'VE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN. THERE IS A 2013 RECALL ALREADY ON THIS GAS TANK ISSUE, BUT MY CAR WAS NOT LISTED AS ONE TO BE LOOKED AT. *TR
DURING THIS MORNING OCTOBER 30, 2013 (7:00 AM) I ATTENDED THE MEETING WITH[XXX], ADVISOR OF RIO PIEDRAS AUTO GROUP IN RELATION TO SAFETY RECALL M35/NHTSA 12V-527 OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE FILTER CIRCUIT. I COULD NOT RESOLVE MY SITUATION BECAUSE [XXX] TOLD ME THAT THE CAR WOULD BE READY IN TWO DAYS. SHE SAID THAT THERE ARE OTHER CARS TO DIAGNOSIS. UNFORTUNATELY, I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE. SHE SAID THAT THEY HAVE A SERVICE TO TAKE ME TO MY HOUSE AT 8:00 AM. I DID NOT ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL BECAUSE I HAD A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT TODAY, TOMORROW WITH MY MOTHER WHO IS A CANCER PATIENT, AND OTHER APPOINTMENTS ON FRIDAY. SHE SAID ME THAT I NEED TO CALL AFTER 9:00 AM FOR ANOTHER APPOINTMENT, AND THAT THEY WERE FROM NOVEMBER 6. ON YOUR DOCUMENT YOU WROTE "THE WORK WILL TAKE ABOUT ONE HOUR TO COMPLETE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE UPPER BOLT JOINT FRACTURED DUE TO CORROSION. AS A RESULT, THE UPPER CONTROL ARMS AND BOLT JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V119000 (SUSPENSION ). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000. UPDATED 01/31/2014*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED CHRYSLER DID NOT HONOR THE RECALL. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT OUTSIDE OF THE DATES OF THE RECALL. WINDOW REGULATOR, WHICH IS MANUFACTURED OF CHEAP PLASTIC, HAS BROKEN AND CAUSED WINDOW TO FALL. CAR EXPOSED TO ELEMENTS OVERNIGHT. *TR
ON OCTOBER 17, 2013 THE LEFT REAR WINDOW DECIDED TO DROP DOWN.I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT THE WINDOW DID NOT FALL COMPLETELY INTO THE DOOR SPACE.I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE WINDOW UP AND FOR SAFETY MEASURES, I TAPED THE WINDOW UP. THE MOTOR STILL RUNS WHEN TRYING TO RAISE THE WINDOW BUT NOTHING HAPPENS IN RAISING THE WINDOW.I FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE WINDOW REGULATORS. IN 2007 CHRYSLER DID AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 7 YEARS AND UNLIMITED MILES BUT I AM TOLD THERE IS NO HELP WITH THE 2003 MODELS ALTHOUGH THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM.. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM THAT HAS PLAGUED THE JEEP LIBERTY FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY CHRYSLER WOULD NOT TAKE CARE OF IT. I DO NOT HAVE THE $335.00 TO REPAIR THIS AND WINTERTIME IS ALREADY HERE. THE DEALER ORDERED THE PART NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE RECALL SERVICE HOWEVER, WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVED FOR THE SERVICE HE WAS ADVISED THAT THE BALL JOINT WAS USED ON ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER WAS ALSO UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN EXPECTED TIME FOR THE PART TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THERE IS GROWING RUST ON THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE, ON THE ROOF PANEL, JUST ABOVE THE TAILGATE WINDOW, ON THE DRIVER SIDE. IT STARTED UNDER THE GLASS, INSIDE A WELD POINT. EVERY BODY SHOP EXPERT I HAVE EVERY TAKEN IT TO SAYS THE SAME THING: THIS WAS A BAD WELD AND WATER WAS ALLOWED TO GET IN THERE AND UNDER THE PAINT. IT STARTED WITH A TINY BUMP YEARS AGO AND IS NOW THE SIZE OF MY HAND AND GROWING. MY CONCERN IS I HAVE SEEN THIS ON AT LEAST FOUR OTHER LIBERTY JEEPS. I PURCHASED MY JEEP LIBERTY IN 2003. ABOUT 2 YEARS AFTER PURCHASE, THE FIRST WINDOW REGULATOR WENT OUT. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE WERE ONLY WARRANTY'S TO COVER THE REPAIR FOR 2006-2007 MODELS, REQUIRING ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE REGULATOR WENT OUT 2 MORE TIMES OVER THE NEXT 3 YEARS - WITH OUT OF POCKET COSTS EACH TIME TO REPAIR. THE 4TH TIME THE REGULATOR WENT OUT, I CONTACTED JEEP, EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND THEY WERE HAPPY TO OBLIGE. JEEP HAD TO PAY FOR REGULATOR ONE MORE TIME, AS ANOTHER WENT OUT JUST A FEW MONTHS LATER. THIS TOTALS 5 INCIDENTS (3 OUT OF POCKET; 2 PAID BY JEEP). I AM NOW ON THE 6TH TIME THE REGULATOR HAS GONE OUT. I CONTACTED JEEP, BUT THEY HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AND SAYS IT IS NOT THEIR ISSUE. I HIGHLY DISAGREE, AS THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED YEARS AGO. NOT ONLY DOES THIS CREATE A SAFETY ISSUE WITH A WINDOW THAT DOES NOT STAY UP, BUT WE ARE NOW APPROACHING COLD, WINTER WEATHER. IT IS MY REQUEST THAT ALL JEEP WINDOW REGULATORS GET THE SAME TREATMENT AND FIXED REGARDLESS OF AGE OF VEHICLE, MAKE, MODEL AND/OR MILEAGE. *TR

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL FOR M35/NHTSA 12V-527 (AIRBAG SYSTEM RECALL) THE WEEK OF SEPT 23,2013. I CONTACTED FIRKINS CHRYSLER/JEEP MOTORS, BRADENTON, FLORIDA TO ASK FOR A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART AND I WAS TOLD TO WAIT UNTIL I RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER FROM CHRYSLER GROUP LLC LATER ON. THEY DID NOT OFFER TO ORDER THE PARTS NOR DID THEY GIVE ME ANY SATISFACTION. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED SUNSET DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP MOTORS IN SARASOTA, FLORIDA FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THIS AIRBAG MATTER. I WAS GREETING PLEASANTLY AND ASKED WHEN I WANTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I BOUGHT A USED 2003 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT AND AFTER 1 MONTH I HAD IT AT THE SHOP WHERE MY MECHANIC DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM AS A SAFETY RECALL FROM THE FACTORY, I WAS THEN REFERRED TO THE LOCAL DODGE /JEEP DEALERSHIP WHERE MY CAR WAS STATED AS "UNSAFE" TO DRIVE. I DROPPED THE CAR OFF THINKING I WOULD HAVE IT BACK WITHIN 2 DAYS MAXIMUM, AFTER ALMOST 1 WEEK I CALLED AND REQUESTED A RENTAL OR LOANER VEHICLE AND WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS THAT THEY DO NOT OFFER SUCH SERVICE, AS WELL AS THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL GET THE PARTS TO FIX MY VEHICLE SO THEY HAVE MY CAR AND I HAVE NOTHING TO DRIVE. I THEN CONTACTED CHRYSLER LLC MYSELF AND REQUESTED THEY PROVIDE A RENTAL SINCE MINE WAS IN FOR SAFETY RECALLS. I WENT UP TO ENTERPRISE TO WAIT FOR A CAR AND WHILE I WAS THERE WAITING I GET INFORMED THAT CHRYSLER HAS CHANGED THEIR MIND AND THIS TIME DUE TO THE VEHICLE NOT BEING UNDER WARRANTY, AGAIN SOMETHING THAT SHOULDN'T MATTER AS IT IS A SAFETY RECALL.
