MY HUSBAND MADE A LEFT TURN OUT OF OUR COMPLEX AND LESS THAN A .5 MILES; DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THANK GOODNESS THERE WERE NO FATALITIES. MY SPOUSE BECAME REALLY SICK, HAD A REALLY BAD ASTHMA ATTACK, BURNS TO HIS RIGHT ARM, AND PROBLEMS HEARING. *JS
WE HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRED WITH UNION CITY, GEORGIA AT (770) 969-7229. WE SPOKE WITH DON JACKSON. EACH TIME, WE WERE TOLD THE PARTS WERE NOT IN AND WE WOULD RECEIVE A CALL AS SOON AS THE PARTS COME IN. WE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. WE CALLED AGAIN AND AGAIN. EACH TIME, WE ARE TOLD THE PART IS NOT IN AND WE ARE PROMISED A CALL BACK. WOULD YOU KINDLY HELP. *TR

THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP UNTIL HE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. I WAS DRIVING 60 MPH DOWN SH 75 WHEN THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. A FEW SECONDS LATER THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. IT HIT ME IN THE CHEST AND STARTLED ME. I HAD BURNS ON MY ARMS AND IT RIPPED A FINGERNAIL BACK. I THOUGHT I BROKE MY THUMB, THE IMPACT WAS SO HARD. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO KEEP MY JEEP ON THE ROAD. THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG IS THE ONLY ONE THAT DEPLOYED AND NOW THE SEAT BELT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY EITHER. *TR
MY FATHER IN-LAW WAS DRIVING HOME FROM NY TO OHIO WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED TO LOSE POWER THEN OVER HEATED I TOOK OFF THE VALVE COVER FOUND THAT THE #2 CYL VALVE CAME OFF AND CRACKED THE HEAD WENT ON LINE READ THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM I HAVE PICS. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS AND THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE CORRECTED. I WAS TOLD THE JEEP DEALERSHIPS DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT. ALSO, THE PCM COMPONENT OF MY VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP HAS DISCONTINUED THE PART, AN AFTERMARKET PART CAN NOT BE FOUND AND NONE ARE ON BACK ORDER. MY VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT IS SENDING THE PCM TO HAVE THE PART REFURBISHED BUT WILL NOT GUARANTEE THE PART. MY CONCERN IS THE CARS SAFETY IS NOT GUARANTEED DUE TO THE RECALL ON AIRBAGS AND THE PCM IS THE MAIN COMPUTER PART FOR THE CAR, IF IT CAN NOT BE GUARANTEED TO BE SAFE AND RUNNING WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS? *TT
THE AIR BAG SENSOR WENT OFF AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. THE LIGHT STAYS ON UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF. WHEN I START THE CAR AGAIN, WITHIN 5 MINUTES OR LESS THE ALARM GOES OFF AND THE LIGHT COMES ON. I AM AFRAID IT WILL DEPLOY. *TR

THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO FILED A COMPLAINT AND SENT A SPECIALIST TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE CAUSED THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER AND REAR CENTER DIFFERENTIAL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FUEL TANK ON YOUR VEHICLE HAS A SMALL CHANCE OF EXPERIENCING A FUEL LEAK DURING CERTAIN TYPES OF REAR END COLLISIONS. FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN AN UNDERBODY FIRE. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR THAT I HAVE RECEIVE A SAFETY RECALL. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME I HAVE TO WAIT FOR CHRYSLER TO SEND ANOTHER NOTICE. RE: IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL: N46/ NHTSA 13V-252 THE FUEL TANK ON MY VEHICLE HAS A CHANCE OF EXPERIENCING A FUEL LEAK DURING REAR END COLLISIONS. FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN CAUSE AN UNDERBODY FIRE & DEATH!! {CHRYSLERS WORDS} THIS RECALL WAS INITIATED JULY 2013, HERE IT IS NOV 2014 & THE RECALL WAS JUST COMPLETED, BECAUSE WHEN THEY ISSUED THE RECALL, IT TOOK THEM A 18 MONTHS TO FINALLY GET THE PARTS, & THEY STILL DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS, WE HAD TO GO BACK A 2ND TIME, BECAUSE WHEN THEY RAN OUT OF PARTS, THEY FORGOT TO LET US KNOW, YET THEY [MOTORWORLD OF WILKES BARRE], SENT US AN EMAIL TO BRING OUR JEEP IN. A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. THEY DID GIVE US 6 GAL OF GAS FOR A WASTED TRIP, COST OF CANCELLING MY GOLF OUTING, PRICELESS$$$. THE EXISTENCE OF A MINIMUM STANDARD DOES NOT REQUIRE N.H.T.S.A. TO IGNORE DEADLY PROBLEMS,' THE AGENCY SAID. IN ITS LETTER TO CHRYSLER, THE AGENCY CITED 32 REAR-IMPACT COLLISIONS THAT CAUSED FATAL FIRES RESULTING IN 44 DEATHS IN JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES, AND FIVE ACCIDENTS THAT RESULTED IN SEVEN DEATHS IN THE JEEP LIBERTY. CHRYSLER'S IDEA FOR THE LIMITED RECALL 'FIX' IS TO INSTALL TRAILER HITCHES ON CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 1992'98 GRAND CHEROKEES AND 2002'07 LIBERTY VEHICLES. ONE BIG PROBLEM: RESEARCH SHOWS THE TRAILER HITCH IS ESSENTIALLY USELESS IN HIGH-SPEED REAR-IMPACT CRASHES. AS FAR AS LOW-SPEED CRASHES ARE CONCERNED, EVEN CHRYSLER ADMITS THE HITCH WILL ONLY PROVIDE 'INCREMENTAL IMPROVEMENT IN THE CRASH ENERGY MANAGEMENT.' TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, SOME OF THE JEEP VEHICLES THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN INVOLVED IN REAR-IMPACT FIRES ALREADY HAD A TRAILER HITCH INSTALLED. SOME GOOD IT DID THOSE OWNERS. THIS IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT READY TO HAPPEN

WE WERE ABOUT 1.5 MILES FROM HOME HEADING WEST ON OK STATE HWY 51 (APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES EAST OF WAGONER, OK) AS I GOT TO APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH THE DASHBOARD AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHED AND DINGED TWICE THEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I MAINTAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND ONLY SUFFERED AN ABRASION AND BRUISE ON THE UNDERSIDE OF MY RIGHT FOREARM FROM THE BAG DEPLOYMENT. I IMMEDIATELY CAME HOME AND CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER RECALL HOTLINE NUMBER AND HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER AND I WAS NOTIFIED TODAY (7/1/2013) THAT AN INVESTIGATOR WILL BE IN CONTACT WITH ME WITHIN 24 HRS. *TR

I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE PASSENGER SIDE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2006 AS A SECOND OWNER AND IN THE 7 YEARS I HAVE OWNED MY JEEP I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY BALL JOINTS NOW 3 TIMES. FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER CONTROL ARM/BALL JOINT SEPARATED CAUSING WHEEL DISLOCATION ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED LEAVING A PARKING LOT AT ABOUT 5 MILES PER HOUR. THE SAME MAKE/MODEL YEAR JEEP LIBERTY HAS RECALL J17 FOR THE FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER CONTROL ARM/BALL JOINT, BUT MY VEHICLE VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. LOWER BALL JOINT, COVERED UNDER RECALL F23, WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE FAILURE. WHY CAN A COMPANY CONTINUE TO IGNORE REGULATIONS THAT REQUIRE IT TO NOTIFY AND THEN ADDRESS MANUFACTURING ISSUES? THE PUBLIC PUTS THEIR TRUST AND MONEY INTO THE HANDS OF THESE INDUSTRY GIANTS. WE TRUST THAT THEY WILL PROVIDE US WITH SAFE AND RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES SO THAT WE MIGHT EXERCISE OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO FREE TRAVEL. RECALLS ARE DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER. THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO STOP, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED REV. THE CONTACT PLACED THE GEAR IN PARK AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE A RECALL WAS ISSUED DUE TO THE FUEL TANK HAVING A CHANCE OF EXPERIENCING A FUEL LEAK DURING A REAR END COLLISION. CHRYSLER SENT A RECALL LETTER STATING THAT A TRAILER HITCH WOULD BE INSTALLED TO BETTER MANAGE CRASH FORCES IN IMPACTS. THEY SAID THE PARTS REQUIRED WERE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. I HAVE HAD NO FURTHER INFORMATION FROM THEM. TODAY I CALL A LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND REQUESTED THE COST OF A TRAILER HITCH AND WAS GIVEN A PRICE. WHEN I TOLD THEM MY JEEP WAS PART OF THE RECALL AND THERE SHOULD BE NO COST I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL TRAILER HITCH IS DIFFERENT AND CHRYSLER HAS NOT RELEASED THEM. I THINK THEY ARE JUST STALLING - A TRAILER HITCH IS A TRAILER HITCH, I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND BELIEVE THAT THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO MAKE THE FIX NOW. *TR
CHRYSLER RECALL N46/NHTSA 13V-252 NO PARTS YET TO FIX RECALL, CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. NOW OVER 9 MONTHS SINCE RECALL HOW CAN THIS BE RESOLVED, THE COMPANY SAYS NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. *JS

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR 15 SECONDS, THEN WENT OFF FOR 15 SECONDS, THEN FLASHED BACK ON AND OFF FOLLOWING THAT TIMING SEQUENCE FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. AFTER 10 MINUTES, THE LIGHT STAYED OFF. I CALLED CHRYSLER BECAUSE I HAD RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JANUARY 2013 ABOUT FAULTY AIR BAGS IN THIS MODEL, WHICH COULD INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT THE PART NEEDED IS A HARNESS, HOWEVER, THE PART IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. SHE TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE PART IS CREATED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NO INCIDENTS OF AIRBAGS DEPLOYING INADVERTENTLY, BUT THERE IS A RISK IT CAN HAPPEN, THEREFORE THE RECALL. HOWEVER THIS IS EXTRAORDINARILY DANGEROUS AND THE FACT THAT CHRYSLER HAS NO DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE IS UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
