THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.

THE "AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHT WILL RANDOMLY STAY ON AFTER A KEY ON AND START. IT DOES NOT TURN OFF FOR THAT DURATION OF THE VEHICLE BEING TURNED ON. THE SUSPENSION BALL JOINTS IN FRONT ARE FAILING AGAIN SINCE THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED ONLY 20K MILES AGO. WITH ONLY STREET DRIVING INVOLVED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON INSPECTING THE UNDER BODY AND FRAME OF THE VEHICLE CONCERNING THE SUSPENSION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR CONTROL ARM BRACKET FRACTURED FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE FRAME. THERE HAD BEEN EXTENSIVE RUST AND CORROSION ON THE FRAME, THE LOWER CONTROL ARM AND THE ROCKERS PERTAINING TO THE REAR AXLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING ON A BACK ROAD, THE VEHICLE FLIPPED AND CRASHED AFTER THE CONTACT OVER CORRECTED THE STEERING. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED THREE TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE AND BECAME TRAPPED UNDERNEATH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AND HAD TO BE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WITH INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, EYES, FACE, AND SKULL. THE CONTACT WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR TWO MONTHS AND IN A COMA FOR THREE WEEKS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CRASH OCCURRED DUE TO AN UNKNOWN RECALL PERTAINING TO THE AXLE BEING MANUFACTURED TOO SHORT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE IN ANY DIRECTION EXCEPT REVERSE. WE DROVE TO A STORE AND WHEN REVERSING OUT OF PARKING SPOT, THE VEHICLE SEIZED IN REVERSE AND WOULDN'T SHIFT TO DRIVE INITIALLY. WE MANAGED TO DRIVE HOME AND PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY. WHEN WE WENT INTO REVERSE TO ADJUST VEHICLE POSITION, IT WOULDN'T MOVE WHEN WE SHIFTED TO DRIVE. WE HAD TO DRIVE CAR IN REVERSE AROUND OUR LOOP IN ORDER TO PARK CAR. WE JUST HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP AND ARE NOW WAITING TO FIND OUT COST TO REPAIR. I AM READING ABOUT NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OVER THE COURSE OF YEARS WITH NO RECALLS ESTABLISHED OR OFFERS OF REPAIR. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A COMPANY TO BE AWARE OF AN ONGOING ISSUE AND NOT EXTEND REPAIR SOLUTIONS.
A RECALL WAS MADE FOR JEEP LIBERTY FOR THE CONTROL ARMS UPPER AND LOWER AND THE BALL JOINTS. I WAS TOLD MY VIN DID NOT HAVE THE RECALL. HOWEVER, OTHERS HAD THE RECALL AND JEEP PAID FOR THE REPAIRS. AFTER THE REPAIRS THE WHEEL HUB WENT BAD, AND A RECALL WAS MADE FOR THAT BUT NOT MY BASIC MODEL. AFTER REPLACING THE WHEEL HUB THE DRIVESHAFT WAS DAMAGED BY ALL THE ISSUES. A RECALL FOR THE SAME VEHICLE WAS MADE FOR A DRIVESHAFT AND AGAIN THE BASS MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THIS TIME JEEP SAID THEY WOULD FIX THE DRIVESHAFT AND WHEN IT CAME TIME THEY DENIED IT.
ON 8-15-2018, I (DRIVER/OWNER OF A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT) WAS LEAVING MY PARKING SPOT AT A CONVENIENCE STORE. WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, IT IMMEDIATELY STARTED SPEEDING BACKWARDS. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES WITH ALL THE FORCE I COULD MUSTER, IT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE TIRES WERE SQUEALING & BLACK TIRE MARKS WERE LEFT ON THE PAVEMENT. MY VEHICLE STOPPED WHEN I SLAMMED INTO THE FRONT END OF A PARKED CAR WHICH WAS NEXT TO A GAS PUMP WITH THE DRIVER INSIDE. FORTUNATELY NOBODY WAS HURT. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED BUT MY INSURANCE COMPANY WAS CALLED IMMEDIATELY TO REPORT IT. "TAKATA RECALL" I WENT TO THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP (BLUEBONNET JEEP IN NEW BRAUNFELS,TX.) WITH THE RECALL NOTICE IN HAND. THE EMPLOYEE IN THE DRIVE-UP SERVICE LANE CALLED THE OFFICE TO VERIFY IF PART WAS IN STOCK. IT WAS NOT. SHE MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 2 WEEKS FROM THAT DATE. I RETURNED WITH MY VEHICLE ON MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT DATE & WAS NOTIFIED BY A DIFFERENT EMPLOYEE THAT PART(S) WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE & WAS TOLD THAT AN INDIVIDUAL NEEDED TO INSPECT MY VEHICLE FIRST BUT HE DIDN'T KNOW WHEN THE INSPECTOR WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO DO IT. I TOLD THAT EMPLOYEE THAT THEY WEREN'T SERIOUS ABOUT REPLACING THE PART(S) NEEDED. SO I GOT BACK IN MY CAR & DROVE HOME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEMONTROND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (888 I-45, CONROE, TX 77304) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVESHAFT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000. *TT VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, THE LOWER BALL JOINT FAILED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE DEALER (PHILLIPS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 3440 S PINE AVE, OCALA, FL 34471, (352) 732-7577) STATED THAT AN UNKNOWN RECALL REPAIR FOR THE LOWER BALL JOINT HAD ALREADY BEEN COMPLETED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THE CONTACT WAS ORIGINALLY INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL CENTER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS PENDING A REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER, THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, AND HER STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
LOUD TING TING NOISE AND SEVERE POPPING NOISE FROM FRONT LEFT SIDE. DRIVING - TING TING AND UPON ACCELERATION LOUD POPPING THAT JERKS BAD - IT CAN BE FELT
ON MAY 28TH, 2018, I WAS DRIVING MY 2003 JEEP LIBERTY TO SEE A FRIEND. I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED SPONTANEOUSLY. FORTUNATELY I WAS ONLY GOING 10 MPH AND DID NOT SUFFER MAJOR INJURIES, BUT I WAS CUT UP AND CONCUSSED FROM THE FORCE OF THE AIRBAG. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO ATLANTIC JEEP CHRYSLER IN EGG HARBOR TWP NJ. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD BE GIVEN A RENTAL CAR AND AN INVESTIGATION WOULD NEED TO BE DONE. I WAITED 6 WEEKS TO GET MY CAR BACK, AS THEY KEPT PUSHING ME WHEN THE INVESTIGATION WOULD FINISH. DURING THIS TIME I WAS UBERING TO MY TWO JOBS, AS THEY NEED PROVIDED A RENTAL CAR. THEY SAID CHRYSLER WOULD COVER THE RENTAL ONCE I GOT MY CAR BACK AND TO PROVIDE RECEIPTS. SEEING HOW THIS COMPANY OPERATES, I KNEW THIS WOULD NOT BE THE CASE. THEY EVENTUALLY DECIDED TO DO NOTHING ABOUT MY CAR. IT WAS A TINY CHIP THAT MADE THE AIRBAG DEPLOY (THEY ADMITTED IT WAS AN ISSUE) BUT THAT THEY WOULD ONLY REPLACE THE CHIP. I WAS LEFT WITH 2.4K IN REPAIRS TO MY CAR. THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR ANYTHING, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR CHIP FAILURE THAT MADE THE AIRBAG GO OFF IN THE FIRST PLACE.
TOOK MY LIBERTY TO MY MECHANIC BECAUSE IT STARTED MAKING A HORRIBLE SOUND UP FRONT WHEN EVER I MADE A TURN. UPON INSPECTION MY LOWER BALL JOINTS HAD DISINTEGRATED, CRUMBLED INTO THEIR HANDS. THEY COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW LUCKY I WAS THAT IT DID NOT BREAK WHILE DRIVEN. NOTHING WAS HOLDING IT IN OR TOGETHER. COME TO FIND OUT THERE ARE RECALLS ON BOTH THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. I HAVE HAD THE LOWERS FIXED AND PAID FOR WITH LIFETIME WARRANTED PARTS. I NEED REIMBURSED FOR THE LOWER $488.27. THE UPPER BALL JOINTS ALSO MUST BE FIXED ON A SEPARATE RECALL THAT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF. DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE ANY IDEA HOW BLOODY AND DEVASTATED AN ACCIDENT WOULD BE WHEN YOUR WHEEL SHEARS OFF AND THERE IS NO STEERING? IT'S CALLED FLIPPING THE FRINGING JEEP OVER!!! NOT ONLY IS IT UNACCEPTABLE THAT I WASN'T NOTIFIED BUT I COULD HAVE KILLED MY FATHER AND OTHERS IN AN ACCIDENT. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME STRAIGHT UP IF I HAD GONE OVER A BUMP OR TURNED I WOULD HAVE WREAKED! I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD ACCIDENTS WITH MORE DAMAGE OR A FULL TOTAL OF THEIRS AND OTHERS ARE NOT BEING REIMBURSED FOR THE ENTIRE DAMAGES. THI FIXED WRONG THE FIRST TIME BY THE DEALER, BEFORE THEIR WREAK. HOW IS THAT NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY? THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ANY OF THOSE JEEPS OR MINE NOT BEING FIXED. THESE ARE STRAIGHT UP RECALLS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS, REALLY WRONG.
CAR WAS RECALLED FOR AIR BAG COMPUTER. I TOOK THE CAR IN THEY REPLACED THE PART THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON. WHEN I WENT BACK IN THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ONLY REPLACE THE PART AND DON'T TEST IT WHEN DONE BECAUSE CHRYSLER DOES NOT PAY FOR IT. I VERIFIED THIS WITH CRYSLER THIS IS TRUE. MY SAFTY CONCERN IS THAT THEY PUT CARS BACK ON THE ROAD WHERE THEY MAY NOT BE SAFE. DON'T KNOW IF THE AIR BAGS COULD GO OFF ACCIDENTALLY OR IF THEY WORK AT ALL.
GOOD MORNING, I AM TRYING TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT AN ACCIDENT MY SON HAD IN HIS 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING AROUND A CURVE AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED THE CONTROL ARM ON THE FRONT PASSENGER BROKE CAUSING MY SON TO LOSE CONTROL OF HIS VEHICLE AND SMASH INTO A TREE.RESULTING IN MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. AND NO BEING WITHOUT A CAR FOR WORK. PLEASE ADVISE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO RESPOND RIGHT AWAY, BUT LATER SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO NOTIFY HER OF WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE INSPECTED. THREE WEEKS LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V046000 (AIR BAGS) AND 13V252000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, STRUCTURE). THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AGAIN AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIRS WOULD BE FREE OF CHARGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (CLEAR LAKE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (15711 GULF FWY, WEBSTER, TX 77598, 281-481-1000) FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS PER THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO COURTESY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1890 DOGWOOD DR SE, CONYERS, GA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REPAIR FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V288000 (SUSPENSION) WAS NOT PERFORMED PROPERLY AND NEEDED TO BE REDONE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT ADDITIONAL DAMAGES FROM THE WHEEL HUBS FAILING WOULD BE AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INITIALLY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED IN 2010; THEREFORE, NO FURTHER ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN. LATER, THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD COVER THE RECALL REPAIR COST, BUT ADDITIONAL DAMAGES WOULD NOT BE COVERED. CASE NUMBER: 33684169 WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 20 2017, MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING EAST ON HWY 10 DURING SNOWY CONDITIONS, WHEN WE HIT BLACK ICE AT 50 MPH. THE VEHICLE SPUN 360 AND HIT A GUARD RAIL AT 40-45 MPH. THE AIRBAGS IN THE VEHICLE DID NOT DEPLOY RESULTING MAJOR INJURIES TO MY WIFE (PASSENGER) BROKEN STERNUM AND RIGHT BROKEN TIBIA, WHICH WAS CORRECTED WITH MAJOR SURGERY AND REHABILITATION. THE ROADS WERE SNOWY, TRAFFIC WAS AT 45-50MPH IN A 60 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON HWY10 E AND FERRY ST IN ANOKA MINNESOTA. THE JEEP LIBERTY IS TOTALED AND MY WIFE IS SUFFERING FROM INJURIES WOULD HAVE BEEN SEVERE, WOULD THE SAFETY AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED AND KEPT MY WIFE FROM MOVING FORWARD INTO THE DASH. *BF *TR
I HAVE FILLED A REPORT ON MY VEHICLE NOT DEPLOYING AIR BAGS THREE WEEKS AGO. I WAS TO RECIEVE AN EMAIL ASKING FOR PICTURES FROM AN AGENT. HAVE NOT RECIEVED AN EMAIL FROM ANY OF YOUR AGENTS. I HAVE CHECKED ALL MY FOLDRES ON MY COMPUTER FOR AN EMAIL FROM YOU, WITHOUT ANY FINDINGS. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH THE CASE NUMBER AND AGENT EMAIL, SO I CAN SEND THE PICTURES OF MY VEHICAL. WHAT HE CAME ACROSS WAS ARTICLES BY CONSUMER REPORTS AND AUTO TRADER ABOUT RECALLS WITH JEEP LIBERTYS FROM 2003 TO 2005 THAT WILL HAVE REAR SUSPENSION, SPECIFICALLY REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS PROBLEMS, RESULTING IN THE TIRES LOOSENING OR EVEN BREAK AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. I AM NOT A MECHANIC, BUT WHAT I HAVE READ FITS THE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT MY JEEP IS DOING, AND THE AREA OF CONCERN EXPRESSED BY MY MECHANIC. EVEN WHEN THE JEEP HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS, "OFFICIALLY" I WOULD LIKE IT LOOKED INTO AS THE PROBLEM FITS THE RECALL DESCRIPTION AND MODEL YEARS. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TAKE IT IN FOR THE RECALL FIX, THE COMPANY WANTED AN AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WE COULDN'T AFFORD. RECENTLY MY MOM WAS IN A CAR WRECK, DESTROYING THE VEHICLES ENTIRE FRONT AND MAKING IT UNUSABLE. ON NOVEMBER 14,2016 I HAD THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL LAUNCHED ON NOVEMBER 25,2015. IN THE RECALL IT ALSO STATED THAT THE SENSORS WERE TO BE REPLACED. SINCE THE "FIX" MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS GONE ON AND OFF, NOW FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. WAS TOLD BY AUTO NATION JEEP DEALER ON MARCH THIRD 2017 THAT IT WOULD COST ME APPROXIMATELY $787 AND CHANGE TO FIX. WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE SENSORS FOR MY VEHICLE WERE NOT PART OF THE RECALL.
