THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V046000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,278.
FOR THREE MONTHS I HAVE BEEN ON A WAIT LIST TO HAVE RECALL N46 / NHTSA 13V-252 PERFORMED ON MY 2003 JEEP LIBERTY. LOCAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS WAIT LIST OF OVER 100 CLIENTS NEEDING THE RECALL UNITS, YET IS ONLY RECEIVING 6 OR LESS PER MONTH. WENT ON LINE TO PURCHASE AN ALTERNATIVE UNIT TO HAVE INSTALLED AND SUBMIT CLAIM. TO MY SURPRISE A SEARCH OF CBXTN461AA IDENTIFIED SEVERAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS THAT WERE "SELLING" THE RECALL PARTS ON EBAY WHILE OTHERS DID NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT UNITS FOR THEIR CLIENTS. THIS IS AN UNCONSCIONABLE ACT OF GREED. THESE DEALERSHIPS SHOULD FACE SEVERE FINES FOR THERE DISREGARD TO THE SAFETY OF VEHICLE OWNERS NEEDING THESE RECALL PARTS. NHTSA NEEDS TO PUT FINANCIAL PUNISHMENT CLAUSES INTO RECALL AGREEMENTS TO ADDRESS THIS TYPE OF ACTION. EACH OF THE EBAY LISTINGS INDICATE THEY HAVE GREATER THAN 10 UNITS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. CONTACT THESE AND ANY OTHERS AND HAVE THEM CEASE IMMEDIATELY AND REALLOCATE THEIR "FOR SALE" UNITS TO OTHER DEALERSHIPS WHO'S CLIENTS ARE WAITING ON SERVICE. A RECENT RECALL WAS DONE TO THE 2003 JEEP LIBERTY IN MARCH 2014 AND IT ALL WENT FINE. A FEW DAYS LATER THE AIR BAG LIGHT RANDOMLY TURNS ON AND OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE AIRBAG MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND IT WILL RUN ABOUT 570.00. NOW AFTER READING THE FORUMS ALL CHRYSLER DID WAS ADD A HARNESS TO PREVENT THE AIRBAGS FROM DEPLOYING INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE MODULE. I AM ALSO TOLD THAT IN THE DALLAS AREA THERE IS NO MODULE AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE LIGHT BEING ON WOULD NOT AFFECT THE ACTIVATION OF THE AIRBAG IN A ACCIDENT. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS BEFORE THE M35 RECALL WAS DONE. *TR

I WAS DRIVING AT 40 MPH WHEN A VEHICLE RAN A RED LIGHT AND I T-BONED THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE NEVER DEPLOYED. THIS WAS A HARD HITTING FRONT END COLLISION THAT CAUSED BY VEHICLE TO SPIN TWO TIMES AROUND AND LEAVE MY VEHICLE FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AFTER SPINNING AROUND TWICE. THE POLICE OFFICER ON THE SCENE SAID HE WAS AMAZED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ~ 8:15 AM AND THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG EXPLODED. I WAS STILL DRIVING WHEN THE DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG EXPLODED AND I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND JUMPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR AS I HAD LEFT THE CAR RUNNING AND THE DOORS WERE LOCKED. I KEEP A HIDE-A-KEY ON THE CAR AND THE KEY WOULD NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS. I WENT TO THE REAR GATE OF THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT OPEN, HOWEVER, THE GLASS POPPED OPEN AND I WAS ABLE TO CRAWL IN THE CAR AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF. I THEN CALLED FOR A TOW AND TOOK MY CAR TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD NOT TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE VEHICLE, THEY WOULD BE CONTACTING JEEP CORPORATE. ABOUT 1 WEEK LATER, I RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL FROM THEIR RECALL TECHNICIAN WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYING WERE A RESULT OF THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED FOR JEEP LIBERTY. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE WITH REGARDS TO THE ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAGS UNTIL TWO (2) WEEKS AFTER....AUGUST 3 OR AUGUST 4, 2014. *TR
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH LANES, IT FELT AS IF THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SWERVE BETWEEN LANES. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE STEERING, THEREFORE THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SWERVE AND EVENTUALLY SLID OFF ROAD INTO A MEDIAN FULL OF TREES. ONCE IN THE MEDIAN, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL OVER. THE VEHICLE ROLLED 3 OR 4 TIMES, EVENTUALLY COMING TO A STOP PASSENGER-SIDE DOWN. THERE WAS DAMAGE ALL OVER THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE, INCLUDING THE FRONT AND SIDES. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN LESS THAN A YEAR AGO TO GET FIXED DUE TO A RECALL ON THE AIR BAG SYSTEM, BUT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING CRASH. I WAS TAKEN VIA AMBULANCE TO A LOCAL TRAUMA UNIT. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *TR

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE'S FRAME WAS CORRODED AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.

IT APPEARS MY VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE RECALLS. FORD HAS NOT CONTACTED ME FOR REPAIRS.
THE SWING GATE WILL NO LONGER OPEN. IVE SEEN NUMEROUS ONLINE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SWING GATE LOCK MALFUNCTIONING. WHEN PULLING ON THE SWING GATE HANDLE, ONLY THE WINDOW UNLOCKS AND OPENS. EITHER BEGINNING OF THE THIS YEAR OR LAST MONTH OF LAST YEAR, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER ABOUT A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE AIR BAG, SO BEFORE I TURN IN THE MY TRUCK FOR SERVICE THE AIR BAG LIGHT DON'T COME ON AT ALL, BUT AFTER THEY FIXED THE RECALL ISSUES, FEW MONTHS LATER MY AIR BAG LIGHT KEEP COMING ON AND STAY ON, SO I CALL THE CHRYSLER DEALER WHO FIXED MY TRUCK AND THERE REPLY IS THAT IS NOT OUR PROBLEM THAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON WHEN YOU DRIVE. SO HERE MY QUESTION IF THE RECALL WAS CALL FOR THE AIRBAGS IN MY TRUCK WHY MY AIRBAG LIGHT NOW IS COMING ON WHEN I DRIVE MY TRUCK, ARE THEY SUPPOSE TO FIXED THE AIRBAG OR WHAT, DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG BUT MY LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAG IS ON.. RECEIVED JEEP RECALL N46/NHTSA 13V-252 FOR FUEL TANK ISSUES ON THIS VEHICLE ON 7 MAY14. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER, I WAS TOLD CHRYSLER HAD NOT RELEASED THE PARTS TO MAKE THE REPAIR. I THINK A MONTH IS OUTSIDE THE REASONABLE TIME LIMIT TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: ()13V252000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE , STRUCTURE) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE NOTICE MONTHS AGO AND HAD ATTEMPTED TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED BEFORE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND PROVIDED AN UNREASONABLE DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 177,000.

THIS IS THE SECOND JEEP LIBERTY I HAVE OWNED AND IN THE PAST 2 YEARS I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE EVERY WINDOW REGULATOR IN BOTH OF THEM. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ONLINE, THIS IS AN ON-GOING SITUATION. ONE WINDOW REGULATOR I HAD FIXED A YEAR AGO JUST BROKE AGAIN YESTERDAY. I WORK AT A PRISON AND MY VEHICLE MUST REMAIN LOCKED AND SECURE AT ALL TIMES OR I CANNOT DRIVE IT TO WORK, AND IT IS A HEADACHE WONDERING IF THE TEMPORARILY TAPED UP WINDOW (UNTIL THE PART COMES IN) WILL FALL DOWN INTO THE DOOR AND I CANNOT DRIVE IT UNTIL IT IS FIXED.
