MY BOYFRIENDS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVER AND MY DAUGHTER (BOTH MINORS) HEAD BUSTED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDSHIELD. REGARDING RECALL N46/NHTSA 13V-252: I RESPONDED TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP (ST. CLAIR, MI) TO HAVE THE RECALL RELATED REPAIR MADE. I WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP STAFF THE REPAIR COULD NOT BE COMPLETED AS THE VEHICLE'S FRAME WAS "TOO CORRODED." THOUGH MY VEHICLE WAS COVERED IN THE RECALL, THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT COMPLETE THE REPAIR. INSTEAD, THEY ASKED I SIGN A FORM ACKNOWLEDGING THE FRAME WAS TOO CORRODED. I REFUSED TO SIGN THAT FORM. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, WHO ADVISED THEY FOUND NO SUCH CORROSION. *TR

WE HAVE JEEP LIBERTY WITH THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON AT ALL TIMES. WE TOOK IT SEVERAL TIMES TO THE DEALER, AND THEY TELL US THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE ORC, AND THAT THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT UNTIL THEY DO THE RECALL, BUT THAT THERE ARE NOT PARTS AVAILABLE. IN THE MEANTIME WE ARE DRIVING WITHOUT KNOWING IF THAT AIRBAG IS GOING TO DEPLOY IT IN THE WRONG TIME OR IS GOING TO DEPLOY AT ALL IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. IS THERE ANY ADVICE OF HOW TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED?
TAKATA RECALL. ATTEMPTED TO GET THE AIRBAG SYSTEM OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD IN 2015 THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART. WAS THEN TOLD IN 2016 THAT THEY NEVER RECEIVED THE PART. HAVE PLACED NUMEROUS CALLS CHECKING TO SEE IF THE PART CAME IT. CALLS WERE NOT RETURNED. NOW HOW DO I GET THIS DONE? ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO MY AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED COMING ON AND OFF. HOW DO I GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF, IF, AS CLAIMED, THE DEALERSHIP NEVER RECEIVED THE PART TO DO THE WORK?

THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND THERE WAS NO TIME FRAME AVAILABLE FOR WHEN TO PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V119000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY EQUIPPED WITH CAPITOL TIRES, TIRE LINE: PRECISION TRAC II, AND TIRE SIZE: 235/70R16. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH FRONT TIRES WERE LOW ON AIR. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT BOTH TIRES WERE EXPERIENCING TREAD SEPARATION. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14T013000 (TIRES). DID NOT START IN THE MORNING, WAS COMPLETELY DEAD, CHECK THE BATTERY AND IT WAS 12.42 VOLTS,CHECK THE FUSES AND THE RELAYS (SWITCH SOME OF THEM TO SEE FOR ANY CHANGES ) AND THEY WERE OK TOO. TO KEEP THE STORY SHORT, IT WAS THE STARTER, BUT WHEN I WAS TRYING TO START THE CAR NOTICED THAT WHEN LEAVING THE KEY ON IN THE LAST CLICK PRIOR TO START POSITION, LIKE 10 SECONDS LATER THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON MAKING A SOUND AND STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. WHEN I TOOK THE KEY OUT NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE MOVED TO THE FULL POSITION, PUT THE KEY AGAIN AND WENT FROM FULL TO EMPTY AND THEN START MOVING TO THE ACTUAL FUEL QUANTITY. I NOTICED THAT IF I TOOK THE KEY BEFORE THE SOUND AND LIGHT OF THE AIBAG, THE GAUGE WORKS FINE, SO WHEN I AM DRIVING AND HAVE TO STOP I TURN OFF THE CAR AND THE GAUGE MOVE TO FULL AGAIN SO I HAVE TO PUT THE KEY ON AND TOOK IT OUT BEFORE THE SOUND AND LIGHT OF THE AIRBAG CAME OUT AGAIN TO "RESET THE GAUGE TO NORMAL POSITION ". ONE OTHER THING MY POWER LOCKS DID NOT WORK WITH THE BEEPER OR WITH THE BUTTONS WHEN THE CAR IS TURN OF OFF. ONLY WORKS WHEN THE KEY IS IN THE CYLINDER AND IN THE POSITION PRIOR TO START THE ENGINE, WORKS ON BOTH THE BEEPER AND THE BUTTONS, ALL OF THIS HAPPENS IN THE SAME DAY. *TR

I HAVE REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND HOSE MULTIPLE TIMES AND ALL THOSE TIMES THE PUMP WENT BAD RIGHT AWAY, I BELIEVE THERE MIGHT BE MORE TO THE PROBLEM THAN JUST THE PUMP. WHEN THE PUMP FIRST GOES OUT I LOOSE CONTROL OF STEERING. IS THERE ANY RECALL ON THIS? *TR

2 WEEKS AFTER HAVING RECALL WORK PERFORMED AT THE DEALER, I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT AND ALL OF THE CAR LIGHTS TURNED OFF, THE CAR SEEMED LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL BUT IT DID NOT. THIS SAME OCCURRENCE HAS NOW HAPPEN 3 MORE TIMES. *JS

WHEN THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL MAGUIRE CHRYSLER OF 502 N FRANKLIN ST.WATKINS GLEN NY 14891 DEALER , @ THAT TIME WE HAD RESEARCHED AND HEARD THAT OUR MAKE AND MODEL JEEP LIBERTY HAD A RECALL ON FRT BALL JOINTS, BUT WE WERE ASSURED BY OUR DEALER THAT OUR MAKE AND MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED. HOWEVER ON 10/21/2014 MY SON DRIVING HOME FROM COLLEGE HAD EXPERIENCED THE TIRE JUST BREAKING OFF. AFTER BEING TOWED TO THE DEALER IT WAS STATED THAT BOTH FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARMS AND BOTH LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED REPLACING.AS WELL AS REPLACING FRONT BRAKE HOSES THAT WERE DAMAGED FROM THE INCIDENT.ON NOVEMBER 13,2014 I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM DAIMLER CHRYSLER STATING SAFETY RECALL F23-LOWER BALL JOINTS.THIS WAS AFTER WE HAVE HAD PROBLEM FIXED AND PAID FOR.MY MAIN COMPLAINT IS BRINGING THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION, AND THEM SWEEPING IT UNDER THE CARPET , THEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENS ENDANGERING OUR CHILD, THANKFULLY ON THE FLAT NOT WHILE COMING DOWN THE STEEP HILL ON HIS ROUTINE TRIP.I FIND IT EXTREMELY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE DEALER DID NOT KNOW OF THE RECALL BEFORE THE CUSTOMER. I T-BONED A TAXI THAT TRIED CLEARING 3 LANES OF ROADWAY LAST MINUTE TO MAKE HIS EXIT. I WAS GOING 30MPH. UPON IMPACT, THE PRIUSES AIRBAGS WENT OFF, AND I NOTICED MY AIRBAGS IN THE JEEP DID NOT GO OFF. FOR AN IMPACT AT THAT SPEED, AND HITTING THE CAR FULL FRONTAL, IT SHOULD HAVE DEFINITELY GONE OFF. *TR

I JUST WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT INREGARD TO TRAILER HITCH THAT WAS NOT INSTALLED ON MY JEEP LIBERTY. THE DEALER SAID EVEN BEFORE THE PART FINALLY CAME THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHECK THE JEEP FOR CORROSION. I DO NOT FEEL MY JEEP HAS ANY MORE CORROSION ON THE FRAME THEN ANY 2003 JEEP WOULD HAVE. I'M SURE IF I WANTED TO PAY FOR A TRAILER HITCH ,ONE WOULD OR COULD BE INSTALLED. I THINK SINCE I TALKED TO NUMEROUS JEEP LIBERTY OWNERS, WHO WERE ALSO TURNED DOWN, THAT THIS IS CHRYSLER WAY OF GETTING AROUND THE COST OF INSTALLING THE TRAILER HITCH. I BELIEVE THIS IS A STALL TACTIC & AWAY CHRYSLER CAN GET AROUND THE RECALL. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO DAIMLER CHRYSLER IN REGARDS TO THE BALL JOINTS I FEEL THE RECALL PARTS WERE NEVER FIXED AND COULD NOT GET AN ANSWER AS TO WHETHER THEY WERE EVER REPLACED THIS VEHICLE AT ONE TIME WAS IN AN ACCIDENT NOT KNOWN WHEN I PURCHASED THIS JEEP TO BE SAFE AND IT IS THE WORSE VEHICLE EVER I HAVE A FOUR YEAR OLD AND LIKE I SAID TO DAIMLER CHRYSLER IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY WHILE RISING IN THIS VEHICLE THERE WILL BE A LAWSUIT. *TR

THE CAR FILLED WITH SMOKE AND I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE, WHICH STATED IF THE HITCH HAD ALREADY BEEN INSTALLED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, TO HAVE IT INSPECTED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE HITCH, AND INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE PREVIOUS HITCH DID NOT MEET CHRYSLER'S REQUIREMENTS. THE CONSUMER IS SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE PREVIOUS HITCH. *JB
