JANUARY 8, 2013 GOOD MORNING. IT WAS VERY ANNOYING WHEN MY PASSENGER'S FRONT WINDOW DROPPED INSIDE THE DOOR. IT WAS AND WASN'T OKAY WHEN THE PROBLEM FIRST AROSE. I WAS VERY CONCERNED. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO MY DAD TO SEE WHAT HE KNEW ABOUT IT OR COULD DO. HE WENT TO THE PICK AND PULL JUNKYARD AND GOT A PLASTIC REPLACEMENT WINDOW TO HOLD ME OVER UNTIL I COULD GET IF FIXED, WHICH I DID ABOUT 3 WEEKS AFTER THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED ON JANUARY 8, 2013 AND I GOT IT FIXED ON JANUARY 29TH, ONLY FOR THE OPPOSITE FRONT DRIVERS WINDOW TO DO THE EXACT SAME THING TWO DAYS AFTER I GOT IT OUT THE SHOP. WELL THIS TIME, MY DAD PLACED A 2 BY 4 TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. AND NOW ONLY ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER MARCH 28, 2013 MY BACK PASSENGER WINDOW HAS SUFFERED THE SAME FAITH. BACK ON FEBRUARY 5, 2013 I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE CHRYSLER DEALER BECAUSE THEY CONTACTED ME ABOUT A RECALL, AND AT THIS TIME I EXPLAINED MY INCIDENT TO THEM; THEY STATED THEY HAD MAYBE A FEW CONCERNS ABOUT THE WINDOW REGULATOR, BUT THAT IT WASN'T ENOUGH TO RAISE AN EYEBROW ABOUT. I UNDERSTAND WHY THAT WOULD NOT BE AN EYEBROW RAISER. IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS, I HAVE HAD 3 OF MY CAR WINDOW TO JUST DROP INSIDE THE DOOR OF MY VEHICLE AND THE DEALER DOESN'T THINK THAT THIS IS CALL FOR A RECALL, OR SEND OUT NOTICES TO JEEP DEALER AND WORK ON THE RESPONSES RECEIVED TO THEN DETERMINE IF THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE OR NOT? VERY COSTLY, AND INCONVENIENT ESPECIALLY WHEN THE INCIDENTS OCCUR AT DIFFERENT TIMES. I WOULD LIKE TO GET SOME FEED BACK, ANSWERS, SHARES ON THIS MATTER, ANYBODY? 2004 JEEP LIBERTY 4X2 HAS SPEED WOBBLE, THROWS THE JEEP SIDE TO SIDE AND IS INCREASING IN SWAY MONTHLY IF NOT DAILY. NOW WHEN YOU LIFT OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO SLOW DOWN THE JEEP THROWS ITSELF TO THE RIGHT. WHEN THE JEEP HAS FOUR PEOPLE IN IT AND SOME WEIGHT IN THE REAR TRUNK AREA IT IS NOT NOTICED BUT WHEN IT IS JUST THE DRIVER OR ONE OTHER PASSENGER THE SPEED WOBBLE IS NOTICEABLE. IT IS CAUSES THE STEERING TO BE EXTREMELY LOOSE AND SLOPPY SO MUCH TO THE POINT THAT AN ATTEMPT TO AVOID ROAD DEBRIS MAY THROW THE JEEP INTO A DEATH ROLL BECAUSE IT IS ALREADY CENTER OF GRAVITY CHALLENGED BEING A STOCK JEEP WITH NO MODIFICATIONS, JEEPS ARE MADE THIS WAY BUT THE STEERING IS EVEN MORE DANGEROUS NOW THEN EVER. OUR JEEP WAS PURCHASED IN FLORIDA AND NOW I AM RETIRED MILITARY LIVING IN VIRGINIA ALONG THE COAST LIKE IN FLORIDA I BELIEVE OUR JEEP LIBERTY NEEDS TO MEET THE RECALL STANDARDS AS THE ONES LISTED IN THE "SUSPENSION REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM" RECALL. THIS IS A BAD SITUATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER DETACHED FROM THE WINDOW. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER THE BRAKES WERE REPAIRED ON THE VEHICLE, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE DRIVER SIDE TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WIRE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. UPDATED 7/23/15*CN UPDATED 11/9/15*JS
REAR CONTROL ARM FAILED. CHRYSLER WILL NOT FIX REAR CONTROL ARM BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS REGISTERED IN SOUTH DAKOTA. THE REAR CONTROL ARM ON THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR VEHICLES IN OTHER STATE BECAUSE OF THE SALT ON THE ROADS DURING WINTER DRIVING. SOUTH DAKOTA HAS THE SAME SALT ON ROADS AS MINNESOTA AND IOWA (STATES LISTED ON THE RECALL) AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. *TR
THE FIRST INCIDENT, I GOT INTO MY CAR AND THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW WAS DOWN. I TRIED TO LET IT BACK UP WITHOUT SUCCESS. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND HAD IT REPLACED. A WEEK LATER THAT I WAS DRIVING, AND STARTED TO HEAR AIR AROUND ME, AND NOTICED MY FRONT DRIVERS WINDOW WAS SLOWING DROPPING INTO THE DOOR. I HAD THAT FIXED AND A FEW MONTHS LATER IT DROPPED AGAIN. I HAD IT FIXED BY MEANS OF HAVING A 2 BY 4 PLACED UNDER THE WINDOW BECAUSE I COULD NOT AFFORD A SHOP. NOW, BACK HERE AT THE END OF OCTOBER, MY BACK PASSENGER WINDOW HAS DROPPED IN AND I NOW HAVE IT BOARDED UP. *TR
THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING A CAR CRASH. I WAS INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT 5 DEC 2012. I MANAGED TO AVOID A BIGGER CRASH BY SWERVING BUT MY JEEP LOST CONTROL WHEN THE TIRES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BLEW OUT DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH AND ROLLED INTO A FENCE. MY FRONT AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF. SHOULDN'T THEY HAVE? I'VE SINCE FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT I DID NOT OWN THE CAR AT THE TIME. DO I HAVE A CLAIM? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, SHE HEARD A LOUD THUMPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HUB HAD DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PLACED THE HUB BACK ON THE WHEEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12E047000 (SUSPENSION: FRONT: HUB) THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 159,000....UPDATED 04/25/13 *BF
WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE FAST LANE GOING ABOUT 70 MPH AND WE LOSE ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE HAD TO SWERVE ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE HIGHWAY TO GET ON THE SHOULDER! ITS A MIRACLE WE DIDN'T WRECK! VEHICLE WOULDN'T START HAD NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED, CHECKED THE OIL AND WAS FULL JUST GOT IT CHANGED 3 WEEKS PRIOR AT THE DEALERSHIP. TOWED IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID THE ENGINE WAS DONE! HAD A WARRANTY FOR 6 MONTHS AND 2 WEEKS AFTER THIS EXPIRED IS WHEN THIS OCCURRED! HAVE COMPLAINED EVERYWHERE I CAN AND I GET TOLD THIS HAS NEVER BEEN HEARD OF WELL ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GOOGLE THIS ENGINE AND THE COMPLAINTS ARE ENDLESS! I AM SO UNBELIEVABLY DISAPPOINTED AND NO ONE IS OWNING UP TO THIS PROBLEM! I AM DONE WITH JEEP AND CHRYSLER AND I'LL MAKE SURE EVERYONE I EVER KNOW IS TOO! *TR
WHILE DRIVING, THE HEADLIGHTS CLICK OFF THEN ON, OFF THEN ON. THE ACT IS SPORADIC AND COMES ON WITH NO WARNING. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE DRIVER AHEAD OF YOU THINKS YOU ARE ANGRY AT THEM. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC. HE CAN NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. NOR DOES HIS COMPUTER EQUIPMENT INDICATE ANY MALFUNCTION. I KNOW I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD STARTED MAKING A LOUD, CLICKING NOISE. SEVERAL MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD JUST BEFORE THE CAR BECAME FILLED WITH SMOKE AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED SMOKE INHALATION HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO ADDITIONAL INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED AS DESTROYED. THE FIRE ORIGINATED FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
2004 JEEP LIBERTY. CONSUMER REQUEST REFUND FOR DEFECTIVE TIRE. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE PURCHASED A SET OF FOUR TIRES FOR HIS DAUGHTER'S VEHICLE. APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AFTER THE TIRES WERE INSTALLED, THE RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE HIS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING. A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE TIRE WAS PERFORMED AND IT DID NOT APPEAR THAT HIS DAUGHTER RAN OVER ANY TYPE OF HAZARD. IT SEEMED THAT THE TIRE HAD JUST EXPLODED. NEXEN ROADIAN HT SUV 235/70R16. *JB
REAR PASSENGER WINDOW FELL PARTIALLY DOWN & WON'T GO BACK UP. MOTOR MAKES NOISE BUT WINDOW DOESN'T GO UP. RESEARCH ON INTERNET INDICATES WINDOW REGULATOR/MOTOR SMALL PLASTIC PIECE PROBLEM WELL DOCUMENTED. JEEP NEEDS TO RECALL & FIX ALL WINDOWS. *TR

THE FAILURE HAD RECURRED PREVIOUSLY AND THE LIFT PLATE HAD BEEN REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING 3 TO 4 MPH THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT CONTROL ARM DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
JOINING IN THE LARGE NUMBERS OF JEEP LIBERTY OWNERS, I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE JANUARY 2012 WITH APPROX. 86000 MILES. THE DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER WINDOW WAS ALREADY INOPERABLE DURING NEGOTIATIONS AND DEALER REPAIRED. WITHIN MONTHS, THE DRIVER'S WINDOW FAILED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, WHICH HAS BEEN A THORN IN THE SIDE OF MANY WHO OWN(ED) THIS MODEL - WEAK PLASTIC PART INVOLVED IN THE WINDOW MOTOR, CAUSING THE GLASS TO FALL INTO THE DOOR AND DIFFICULT, COSTLY REPAIRS. CHRYSLER HAS NOT BEEN MADE TO HELP THE CONSUMER IN THE HISTORY OF THIS WIDE-SPREAD ISSUE. PLEASE CONSIDER ACTION? THE COST TO REPAIR EACH WINDOW IS NOT INEXPENSIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD VEER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THE FRONT BALL JOINTS AND CONTROL ARMS BROKE. AS A RESULT, BOTH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED UNDER RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V288000 (SUSPENSION: FRONT: CONTROL ARM: LOWER BALL JOINT). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 111,200.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT DUE TO THE BCM MODULAR BURNING OUT THE SPEED SENSOR, THE SPEED SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. OUR JEEP HAS TAKEN TO FLASHING THE HEADLAMPS AND/OR THE FOG LAMPS OFF AT ANY TIME. WHEN SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR LIKELY CAUSES, WE FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE AND COMPLAINTS TO CHRYSLER DEALERS ARE IGNORED. A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

THE WINDOW REGULATOR HAS FAILED IN THE WINDOW. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM. JUST SITTING AT A LIGHT AND THE WINDOW FALLS DOWN BECAUSE OF A SMALL PLASTIC PIECE THAT HOLDS THE WINDOW UP BREAKS. *TR
THIS IS DANGEROUS... YOU HEAR A CLICKING SOUND, THEN YOUR HEADLIGHTS START FLASHING RANDOMLY HIGH TO LOW< LOW TO HIGH. THIS GOES ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. IT IS DANGEROUS....I HAVE TAKEN THIS JEEP TO SEVERAL PLACES AND NO ONE CAN FIND THE PROBLEM> JEEP HOWEVER WANTS TO CHARGE ME 90 TO TELL ME THEY CANT FIND THE PROBLEM. HEADLIGHTS SWITCH OFF AND ON BY THEMSELVES. YOU CAN HEAR A CLICK AND THE LOWBEAMS JUST GO OUT. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA WITH NO STREET LAMPS. I ALMOST HIT A DEER BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND IS VERY DANGEROUS.
WHEN ON VACATION GETTING READY TO DRIVE BACK HOME FROM NC TO NY TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT THE RIGHT FRONT BALL JOINT SNAPPED. WE HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO HAVE IT REPAIRED ONLY TO FIND OUT WHEN WE ARRIVED HOME AND I LOOKED UP ONLINE THAT THERE HAD BEEN AN PREVIOUS RECALL ON THIS THAT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF. THE REPAIR TECH RIPPED THE "BETTER BRAND" MORE EXPENSIVE MOOG BRAND BOOT WHEN HE PUT IT ON AND DIDN'T TELL US. WE DIDN'T FIND OUT UNTIL ARRIVING HOME & THEN WE HAD TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER SHOP 45 MIN AWAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AGAIN.. IF WE HAD BEEN NOTIFIED PREVIOUSLY WE WOULD HAVE HAD THIS TAKEN CARE OF PRIOR TO AND HAD IT FIXED THE RIGHT WAY. THANKFULLY WE WERE PULLING INTO A GAS STATION PARKING LOT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT AND NOT 20 MIN LATER WHEN WE WERE DRIVING 65 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
VEHICLE INDICATED THAT PASSENGER FRONT DOOR WAS AJAR, THIS AFTER TEN MINUTES OF DRIVING. DOOR WAS IN FACT NOT AJAR. PASSENGER OPENED AND CLOSED DOOR JUST TO CHECK, DOOR THEN WOULD NO LONGER FULLY CLOSE. PULLED MANUAL LOCK TO SEE IF IT WAS STUCK, WHOLE PIECE CAME OUT. SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT OF HOLE AND DOOR METAL WAS VERY HOT TO THE TOUCH. REMOVED DOOR PANEL TO PUT OUT FIRE INSIDE. LOCK ACTUATOR MOTOR MELTED DOWN AND PARTS WERE SMOLDERING. DURING THIS PROCESS THE ELECTRONIC BACK GLASS POPPED OPEN AS WELL AND WILL NO LONGER LATCH EITHER. CHRYSLER RECALLED SOME 2004 LIBERTY'S FOR THESE MOTORS OVERHEATING AND SEIZING, WAS INFORMED THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED AND THAT WE SHOULD HAVE 'MAINTAINED THE WIRING IN THE DOOR'. THIS VEHICLE IS METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED! *TR

ATTORNEY REPRESENTING CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REAR SUSPENSION LOWER CONTROL ARM RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER WAS INJURED, WHEN THE JEEP SHE WAS DRIVING SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND ULTIMATELY HIT A TREE. SHE SUFFERED INJURIES TO HER RIGHT HAND, LEFT LEG, RIBS AND LEFT KNEE. THE ATTORNEY STATED IT APPEARED HIS CLIENTS INJURIES WERE BASED UPON THE SAME DEFECT AS REPORTED IN RECALL # 12V085000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED HAT THE PROTECTIVE BOOTH COVER FOR THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS MISSING AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A CLAIM WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY HEADLIGHTS BEGAN TO TURN ON AND OFF BY THEMSELVES. I HEAR THE CLICK CLICK LIKE THEY ARE BEING TURNED ON OR OFF BUT IT IS HAPPENING ON IT'S OWN. THIS HAS NO HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND CURRENTLY I CAN NOT DRIVE IT AT NIGHT OR DURING BAD WEATHER. IT HAPPENS IN RAPIDLY THE CARS AROUND THINK I AM FLASHING LIGHTS AT THEM. VERY DANGEROUS! *TR

THREE WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE USED, THE CAR BEGAN HICCUPPING OR LURCHING WHILE IDLING, AND HAD DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING FROM SECOND TO FIRST GEAR. MECHANIC CHECKED ERROR MESSAGE INDICATING CYLINDER MISS FIRE AND FOUND THAT ALL SPARK PLUGS AND ONE COIL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PROBLEM CONTINUED AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. SAME MECHANIC CHECKED ERROR MESSAGE INDICATING CYLINDER MISS FIRE, AND FOUND RUBBER GASKET ON COOLANT TANK MANGLED CAUSING COOLANT TO SPLATTERED OVER ENGINE. REPLACED CAP. I TOOK A 1200 HIGHWAY TRIP WITH NO PROBLEM. AFTER I RETURNED AND RESUMED LOW SPEED STOP AND GO DRIVING, THE PROBLEM RESUMED. THIS TIME, THE CHECK ENGINE ALSO INDICATED CYLINDER MISFIRE, BUT A HOSE EXITING COOLANT TANK WAS RUPTURED LEAKING COOLANT DIRECTLY ON TO THE SAME CYLINDER THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. THINKING WE HAD FINALLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM, THE HOSE WAS REPLACED, THE CYLINDER REMOVED AND CLEANED, BUT LEAKAGE UNDER CAR AND SPLATTERED OVER ENGINE CONTINUED. CAR IS LURCHING ESPECIALLY WHEN ACCELERATING UPHILL, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS FLASHING ON AND OFF. THERE IS A HISSING NOISE AFTER I TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THESE PARTS ARE EXPENSIVE IN ADDITION TO THE LABOR COST TO HAVE THE REPAIRS MADE. IN 2006 THE DEALER CLAIMED TO REPLACE THE LOWER BALL JOINTS PER THE SAFTY RECALL. WE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING A LOOSNESS AND RATTLE IN THE SUSPENSION LATELY. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS NOTED THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE VERY LOOSE AND THIS JEEP HAS ONLY 18400 MILES ON IT. I SUSPECT THAT THE DEALER JUST SIGNED OFF ON THIS SAFTY RECALL INSTEAD OF DOING THE REQUIRED WORK. JUNE 13, 2013, THIRD WINDOW REGULATOR TO FAIL WITHIN ONE YEAR ON MY JEEP LIBERTY. FAILED WINDOW REGULATORS ARE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT WINDOWS, AND LEFT REAR WINDOW. VERY FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED WITH CHRYSLER AND HOW THEY ARE HANDLING A KNOWN ISSUE. AFTER SPEAKING WITH SEVERAL EMPLOYEES AND MANAGER AT THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILED WINDOW REGULATORS AT NO COST TO ME. THEREFORE I CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY JEEP LIBERTY WITHOUT ANY WORKING WINDOWS WHICH PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR BUT THE STARTER WOULDN'T TURN OVER. I CHECKED THE FUSES AND RELAYS FOR THE IGNITION SYSTEM, AND EVERYTHING WAS OK. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN HAD TO BE REPLACED, BECAUSE 2 TABS WHICH HELD THE IGNITION SWITCH WERE BROKEN. I'VE SEARCHED ONLINE SITES AND FIND THAT THERE SEEMS TO BE ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING COLUMN AND IGNITIONS SWITCHES ON THE JEEP LIBERTY. COST OF THIS "MINOR" REPAIR $600 PLUS TOWING.
