REAR WINDOW FELLL DOWN. WAS TOLD THE REGULATOR IS BAD. I NOW SEE THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE JEEP LIBERTYS. I HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY.
THERE ARE NO EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR. SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING THE WINDOW WILL DROP INSIDE THE DOOR AND IT CANNOT BE OPENED WITH THE WINDOW CONTROLS. THE WINDOW REGULATOR MUST BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. *TR
MY TEEN DAUGHTER, AFTER SAVING FOR YEARS, JUST BOUGHT A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE WINDOW TOTALLY DROPPED. AFTER SEARCHING, THIS SEEMS TO BE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. NOT ONLY IS THIS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, IT IS APPARENT THAT CHRYSLER CORP DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. IT IS A SHAM THAT CONSUMER RELATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES IS DECLINING. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE NEXT DAY, THE ABS AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHILE THE TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER DID NOT FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED WHENEVER THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,500. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000. I HAVE A JEEP LIBERTY 2006, LAST YEAR THE PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE AND THEN ALMOST EXACTLY A YEAR LATER THE DRIVER WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WINDOW AND REGULATOR (BECAUSE OF AN "UPGRADE" IN THE REGULATOR PART YOU HAVE TO BUY A WINDOW AS WELL). FROM LAST MARCH TO THIS MARCH THEY HAVE DOUBLED THE PRICE OF THE REGULATOR MAKING THE REPAIR EVEN MORE COSTLY TO CONSUMERS.
I ROLLED DOWN THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. WHEN TRYING TO GET THE WINDOW UP THE WINDOW FELL INSIDE THE DOOR. WHILE THIS CAUSED NO IMMEDIATE DANGER BECAUSE WE WERE NOT MOVING. THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR MY CHILDREN WHO ARE USUALLY RIDING IN THE REAR SEAT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON 295 IN BALTIMORE, MD DURING RUSH HOUR WHEN MY DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW STARTED TO FALL. THIS IS THE 6TH TIME I HAVE HAD A REGULATOR PROBLEM, SECOND TIME FOR THIS WINDOW. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF MY BECAUSE IT CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SURE ENOUGH ITS THE REGULATOR EXCEPT THIS TIME THEY AREN'T JUST REPLACING THE REGULATOR BUT THE GLASS TOO. I REALLY WANTED ANOTHER JEEP BUT SINCE I KEEP HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. JEEP NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL, EVERYONE IN THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. IF THEY KNOW IT IS A PROBLEM; THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMEONE DIES FROM IT. IT IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING. IT ALSO REDUCES YOUR VISIBILITY WHEN YOU HAVE TO DUCT TAPE YOUR WINDOW SHUT. *TR
FOR THE 4TH TIME IN ALMOST AS MANY YEARS I HAVE HAD THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAIL LEAVING THE WINDOW(S) IN THE STUCK DOWN POSITION. THESE COMPONENTS FAIL VERY OFTEN ACROSS THE JEEP LIBERTY MODELS. MINE IS A 2006 BUT I KNOW OF PEOPLE FROM 2002 TO CURRENT THAT HAVE HAD THIS EXACT ISSUE OVER AND OVER. *TR
POWER WINDOWS OF JEEP LIBERTY 2006 4X4 FAILED A SECOND TIME. AFTER DRIVING ON HIGHWAY I REALIZED THAT REAR WINDOW ON PASSENGER SIDE SLID DOWN INTO DOOR AND COULD NOT BE PUSHED UP AGAIN. THIS HAD HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME IN JULY 2008 AND WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS REPLACED. THE FAILING OF THE POWER WINDOWS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CAR CAN NOT SAFELY LEFT ALONE CLOSED BECAUSE THE WINDOW ALWAYS WILL SLIDE DOWN WITHOUT WARNING-> RAIN DAMAGE, THEFT. LOAD CAN GET DAMAGED OR FALL OUT OF THE CAR, KIDS OR PETS CAN GET HURT. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THE WHOLE WINDOW ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE EXCHANGED ($750) ALTHOUGH THE WINDOW IS NOT DAMAGED. THIS FAILURE OF THE WINDOW REGULATORS IS COMMON ON 2006 AND OLDER MODELS. JEEP HAS TO DO A RECALL AND PROVIDE RELIABLE AND SAFE POWER WINDOWS ON LIBERTY 2006 AND OLDER MODELS. *TR
MY POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW WENT OUT ON ME THIS MORNING. THE WINDOW MOTOR IS FINE, BUT THE LINKAGE THAT CONNECTS TO THE WINDOW IS BROKEN. THIS CANNOT BE FIXED BY SIMPLE SMALL PART, THE MOPAR IS RIPPING OFF THE PUBLIC BY REQUIRING THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY. THE ENTIRE DESIGN NEEDS TO BE OVERHAULED, BECAUSE IT IS A SIMPLE FIX THAT SHOULD NOT REQUIRE THE ENTIRE REPLACEMENT OF THE SYSTEM. *TR
THE WINDOW REGULATOR'S IN MY 2006 JEEP LIBERTY CONTINUOUSLY BREAK AND THE WINDOW FALLS DOWN INTO THE DOOR. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE WHEN A CHILD IS TRAVELING IN THE CAR FOR THE WINDOW TO JUST FALL INTO THE DOOR. AND CHRYSLER WILL ONLY REPLACE WITH ANOTHER PART THAT WILL DO THE SAME THING IN 6 MONTHS.
THE WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL ON RECURRING BASIS. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED TWICE AND THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED RECENTLY. TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS RECOGNIZED THIS AS A COMMON FAILURE ITEM BUT CHARGES APPROX $600 PER REPAIR BECAUSE MY JEEP IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALERS STATED THE REGULATOR PIECE FAILING ON RECURRING BASIS IS MADE OF PLASTIC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE WINDOWS ON THE VEHICLE HAD FALLEN INTO THE DOOR PANELS AND COULD NOT BE CLOSED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WINDOW MOTOR HAD TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EACH WINDOW HAD FAILED ON MORE THEN ONE OCCASION. THE MANUFACTURER HAD PROVIDED THE DEALERS WITH A KIT TO REPAIR THE SPECIFIC FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TR
POWER WINDOW PARTS FAILURES ON 2006 (AND OTHER) JEEP LIBERTY. WINDOWS WILL "FALL" INTO THE DOOR WITH LITTLE NO WARNING. HAVE HAD TWO FAIL IN LAST 8 MONTHS. LESS THAN 30,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. ONE FAILED WHILE VEHICLE IS SITTING STILL, NOT RUNNING. HAVE SEEN OVER 150 EXACT COMPLAINTS ON EDMUNDS.COM AND CARCOMPLAINTS.COM. FAILURE APPARENTLY DUE TO PLASTIC PARTS FATIGUE, REPAIR COSTS APPROXIMATELY 400 PER OCCURRENCE. *TR
LEFT TAIL LIGHT BURNED OUT AND MELTED THE TAIL LIGHT. IT CONTINUES TO GO OUT AND IS A SAFETY PROBLEM.
2006 JEEP LIBERTY-WHILE DRIVING BACK WINDOW MAKES A POPPING SOUND THAN FALLS DOWN. ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW MAKES A POPPING SOUND AND FALLS DOWN--THE UNEXPECTED NOISE AND RUSH OF COLD WINTER AIR CAUSED ME TO SWERVE INTO A DITCH. THIS A SAFETY ISSUE AND AN EXPENSE!! *TR
MY FATHER'S JEEP LIBERTY TURBO DIESEL AUTOMATICALLY & RANDOMLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN ABOUT 2-3 DAYS ON HIS WAY TO WORK (SIMILAR TO THE TOYOTA SITUATION). THE JEEP ON-BOARD COMPUTER THREW UP AN ENGINE FAULT CODE. WHEN HE TOOK THE CAR TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID HIS ACCELERATOR PEDAL MODULE WAS BAD AND MADE MY DAD PAY OVER $300 TO GET IT REPLACE. THE JEEP HAD UNDER 50K MILES ON IT AND IT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW TO MAKE CUSTOMER PAY TO REPAIR A CAR THAT SPEEDS UP ON ITS OWN. ARE WE THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH A JEEP (CHRYSLER) PRODUCT? WE HAVE RECEIPTS FOR THE REPAIRS AND IT SHOULD HAVE DOCUMENTED THE ENGINE FAULT CODE THAT JEEP DISCOVERED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE WINDOW FELL THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE MECHANISM INSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DOOR PANEL REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. ONE MONTH LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT REPLACE THE ENTIRE MECHANISM INSIDE THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
JEEP LIBERTY, REAR WINDOW MOUNTING TAG CAUSED REGULATOR TO FAIL. WINDOW DROPPED AND WOULD NO LONGER WORK, LEAVING CHILD SAFETY WINDOW LOCK INOPERABLE. JEEP HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS HOWEVER HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL, CAN COST UP TO 500.00 TO FIX. COULD HAVE CAUSED A ACCIDENT IF DROPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND BECAME DISTRACTED. *TR
LEFT BACK WINDOW REGULAR BROKE AND WINDOW HAS FALLEN. UNABLE TO ROLL UP WINDOW DURING A SAND STORM RESULTING IN CHILD BREATHING IN SAND UNTIL WE COULD SEEK SHELTER AND INTERIOR OF VEHICLE BEING COVERED IN SAND. THIS IS THE FOURTH WINDOW REGULAR THAT I AM HAVING TO REPLACE IN THIS VEHICLE. FILING A COMPLAINT AT DEALERSHIP REQUEST. THEY STATED THE WINDOWS WERE POORLY DESIGNED AND THE LATE 2006 MODELS THE WINDOWS ARE REPLACED WITH A REDESIGNED WINDOW AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. *TR
BEGINNING ON FEBRUARY 22, THE FIRST OF THREE (3) WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED IN THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST WAS THE DRIVER SIDE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW, SECOND WAS THE DRIVER'S DOOR WINDOW (6 DAYS LATER) AND THE THIRD WAS THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW WHICH FAILED YESTERDAY (3/4/10). THE REAR WINDOWS HAVE SELDOM BEEN OPEN SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW IN 2006. TWO OF THE WINDOWS SLID/DROPPED OPEN COMPLETELY WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERWAY WHILE THE THIRD DROPPED OPEN UPON CLOSING THE RIGHT REAR DOOR. *TR
IN THE LAST FOUR YEARS OF OWNERSHIP OF A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOWS HAVE SUDDENLY JUST FALLEN DOWN INTO THE DOOR PANEL A TOTAL OF FIVE TIMES. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE WHILE DRIVING AND THREE TIMES BETWEEN USES OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING THERE IS A POPPING NOISE AND A THUMP WHEN THE WINDOW GOES DOWN. WHEN DRIVING THIS CAUSES AN IMMEDIATE DISTRACTION TO DRIVER AND PASSENGERS WHICH HAS NOT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT YET BUT IS ALWAYS A CONCERN FOR FUTURE OCCURRENCE. JEEP LIBERTY 2006. BOUGHT NEW. TO DATE 6 POWER WINDOWS HAVE FAILED. 2 OF THEM OBVIOUSLY FOR A SECOND TIME AFTER REPAIR BY CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA WERE THERE IS NO CHANCE OF THE WINDOWS BECOMING STUCK WITH ICE BUILDUP BETWEEN THE WEATHER STRIPING & THE GLASS. THIS IS A DESIGN FAULT THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF. INCREDIBLE THAT A LARGE CORPORATION IS UNABLE TO DESIGN A POWERED WINDOW SYSTEM THAT'S BEEN AROUND FOR 50 YEARS. DURING SEVERE WEATHER, RAIN STORMS, BLOWING SNOW OR SEVERE COLD, THIS CAN BECOME A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS FAILURE IS PROLIFIC ON ALL JEEP LIBERTY'S BUILT FROM I BELIEVE 2003 TO 2007. MY JEEP HAS HAD FAILURES THAT AT THE RETAIL LEVEL WOULD COST OVER $2000.00 APPROX $300 - $400 PER WINDOW. ITS ONLY JUST OVER 3 YEARS OLD. I AM NOW AFRAID TO OPEN & CLOSE THE WINDOWS. I HAVE SECURED THE LAST FAILURE IN THE UP POSITION USING A CABLE TIE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. *TR
JUST BOUGHT THE JEEP AND ON THE WAY HOME THE BACK GLASS FELL DOWN. DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS ALMOST RUN OFF THE ROAD TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I TOOK IT BACK THE NEXT MORNING AND THEY KNEW RIGHT AWAY IT WAS A WINDOW REGULATOR. HAD TO WAIT TILL MONDAY MORNING TO TAKE IT BACK IN AND WAS 3 DAYS IN GETTING IT BACK. FOUND OUT MINE WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH FAULTY WINDOWS BY TALKING TO THE CUSTOMERS IN THERE FOR THE SAME REASON. NEEDLESS TO SAY I NOW RIDE AROUND WITH DUCK TAPE AND PLASTIC AND AM WAITING FOR THE NEXT ONE TO GO. LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THESE REGULATORS AND THEY NEED TO BE FIXED NOW BEFORE SOMEONE WRECKS AND KILLS THEMSELVES WITH THESE THINGS FALLING DOWN. I TRADED IN MY TOYOTA IN FEAR OF A STICKING GAS PEDDLE AND NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE IN FEAR OF MY WINDOWS FALLING DOWN. I AM ONLY ASKING FOR A SIMPLE RECALL TO A SIMPLE FIX FOR ALL OF THE JEEP OWNERS WHO DRIVE AROUND WITH DUCK TAPE UP TO THE WINDOWS. IT IS GIVING JEEP A BAD REPUTATION AND HAVE HEARD PEOPLE SAY THEY WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER JEEP BECAUSE OF THIS. CHRYSLER CONTINUES TO IGNORE A SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE JEEP LIBERTY. CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR POWER WINDOW REGULATORS THAT BASICALLY LET THE WINDOW FALL OUT INTO THE STREET OR INSIDE THE CAR ON TOP OF SLEEPING BABIES AND OTHER PASSENGERS, OR DOWN IN THE DOOR, OR GET STUCK UP OR DOWN. I HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AND HAVE HAD TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ON MY CAR 3 TIMES ONCE AT 10,000 MILES, ONCE AT 50,000 MILES AND NOW AT 70,000 MILES. THE LAST TWO TIMES I PAID $350. CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM HAVING SENT REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS TO DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS FOR A TEMPORARY FIX THAT THEY ARE USING AS A FRAUDULENT MONEY MAKING VENTURE, 'A BUILT IN REPAIR PROBLEM.' CHRYSLERS ARROGANCE IS UNPARALLELED, WE NEED YOUR HELP! *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK TO FULL WITH THE PUMP NOZZLE SET TO AUTOMATIC, THE TANK SPITS OUT 1/2 TO 1 GALLON OF GAS BEFORE THE NOZZLE DISENGAGES. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS PUMP. THE SAME PUMP WAS USED ON OTHER CARS WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS ON THIS JEEP LIBERTY REGARDLESS OF WHAT PUMP IS USED. ON OCCASIONS, THIS EXCESS FUEL HAS GOTTEN ONTO MY CLOTHES WHICH POSES A SAFETY HAZARD. I'VE INVESTIGATED THIS ON THE INTERNET AND MANY JEEP OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I NO LONGER USE THE AUTOMATIC NOZZLE SETTING BUT THIS IS UNSATISFACTORY BECAUSE OTHERS FILLING THE TANK ON MY BEHALF MAY NOT BE AWARE OF THIS. SOME AREAS OF THE COUNTRY DON'T ALLOW THE USE OF SELF-SERVICE PUMPS. *TR
2006 JEEP LIBERTY, BOTH REAR WINDOW ACTUATORS REPLACED WITHIN MONTHS OF PURCHASING NEW. NOW BOTH FRONT (DRIVER & PASSENGER) SIDE WINDOW ACTUATORS FAILED. GAS SPEWS DRAMATICALLY OUT OF THE GAS TANK WHEN FILLING. A FRIEND OF MINE HAS THE SAME VEHICLE AND HIS DOES THE SAME THING. WE CANNOT FILL OUR TANKS FULL, REGARDLESS OF THE FILLING STATION. WE ESTIMATE THAT 1-2 CUPS OF GASOLINE SPEW OUT ONTO THE SIDE OF THE JEEP. IT SPEWS FAR ENOUGH TO SATURATE CLOTHING OF THE PERSON FILLING UP THE TANK. THIS IS AN INCIDENT - WHEN FUELING THE GAS TANK WITH THE NOZZLE INSIDE THE GAS TANK OPENING, THE FUEL GUSHES OUT OF THE OPENING AFTER THE TANK IS FULL, SPILLING GAS ON THE VEHICLE AND ON THE GROUND. THIS IS NOT AT ONE GAS PUMP, IT HAPPENS AT ANY GAS STATION I GO TO. THIS RESULTS IN A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AND DAMAGE TO THE PAINT ON THE VEHICLE. EACH GAS PUMP HAS AN AUTOMATIC VACUUM SHUT OFF WHEN THE GAS REACHES THE NOZZLE AND IS SUPPOSED TO SHUT OFF THE SUPPLY OF GAS. FOR SOME REASON, THE JEEP LIBERTY GUSHES OUT GAS ALL OVER THE PLACE EVERY TIME I FUEL IT. THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING EVENT AND THE ONLY REASON WHY I HAVE NOT REPORTED IT IS BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW THAT THIS REPORTING MECHANISM WAS AVAILABLE AND I WAS ONLY PUTTING IN A LIMITED AMOUNT OF GAS TO PREVENT THE GUSHING FROM HAPPENING. I BOUGHT MY LIBERTY BRAND NEW. SINCE I HAVE HAD IT I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE REGULATOR IN ALL OF MY WINDOWS. THE BACK WINDOWS ARE THE WORST. THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW HAS BEEN REPLACED 5-7 TIMES AND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE HAS BEEN REPLACED 4-6 TIMES. THERE IS NO WARNING. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE WINDOW STARTS TO FALL DOWN INTO THE DOOR. THE DEALER CHARGES TO FIX IT AND REPLACES IT WITH THE SAME FAULTY PART. I HAVE PAID OVER $1500 FOR A PROBLEM THAT KEEPS OCCURRING. I LIVE IN ARIZONA AND THOUGHT THAT IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE HEAT BUT THEN ONE OF THE SERVICE ADVISORS TOLD ME THAT IT'S THE PART THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEMS. JEEP SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS PART. TOOK APART MYSELF AND FOUND A BROKEN PLASTIC PIECE THAT CONNECTS TO THE DRIVE CABLE. THOUGHT I COULD FIND THIS SMALL PLASTIC PART AT THE DEALER AND THEY SAID I HAD TO BY THE WHOLE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY FOR $244. EVEN BETTER, WHILE I WAS IN LINE THERE WAS A LADY IN LINE FOR THE SAME REASON. THAT'S WHEN I FOUND ALL KINDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME REASON ON-LINE. I HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AND I HAVE REPLACED ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS/MOTORS. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THEY ARE A PROBLEM WITH THE LIBERATES AND ARE KNOWN TO REPEATEDLY BREAK WITH NORMAL USE. THE FIRST TIME THEY BROKE WAS ONLY ONE YEAR AND 6,000 MILES. THE SECOND TIME WAS SIX MONTHS LATER ON A ROAD TRIP. I HAD TO GET THEM REPAIRED OUT OF STATE. AFTER THREE YEARS AND HAVING THEM ALL REPLACED, THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS STILL HANGING AND WAS REPAIRED AGAIN. NOW AT THE PRESENT TIME 1/27/2010 AND 19,000 MILES THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW COMPONENTS ARE BROKEN AGAIN AND WILL NEED TO BE TAKED IN FOR ANOTHER REPAIR. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED. I HAVE PURCHASED 2 SETS OF TIRES. THE FIRST SET WAS AT ABOUT 65,000 WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE FRONT TIRES WERE BEING WORN ON THE INSIDE. I'VE ROTATED MY TIRES WHEN REQUIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
