2007 JEEP PATRIOT. CONSUMER STATES WATER POURED INTO VEHICLE OVER DASHBOARD DURING RAIN *TGW THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE RAIN CAME THROUGH THE LIGHT FIXTURE AND ALSO THE SMALL SEAMS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CEILING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A GLASS REPAIR SHOP, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANY LEAKS IN THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONSUMER STATED DURING ANOTHER RAINSTORM, WATER BEGAN COMING DOWN ON THE HER HEAD. A YEAR LATER, HOT WATER BEGAN POURING ONTO THE CONSUMER'S FEET WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER INFORMED HER, THE CHANNELS WERE CLOGGED. THERE WAS ALSO A PROBLEM WITH A LATCH HOLDING A SPEAKER IN THE HATCH. SOMEHOW, THE LATCH SNAPPED IN HALF AND EVERY TIME, THE CONSUMER OPENED THE HATCH, IT WOULD COME DOWN EXTREMELY FAST. THE LATCH WASN'T ACCESSIBLE UNLESS THE SPEAKER WAS DOWN. ON ONE OCCASION, HER SON WAS BEING HELD BY SOMEONE AND WHEN THE HATCH WAS LIFTED, THE SPEAKER CAME FLYING DOWN INTO THE CHILD'S FACE, WHICH RESULTED IN A BLEEDING GASH ON HIS FOREHEAD. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE REGULATOR FAILED AND THE WINDOW COULD NOT BE CLOSED OR OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE AND OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
GAS SPILLS OUT EVERY TIME IT IS FILLED UP-NOT JUST A DRIBBLE BUT PROBABLY A CUP FULL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS FALLING SLOWLY INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIANS ADVISED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED ON THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON DECEMBER 1 2011 AND ABOUT A MONTH OR A LITTLE MORE LATER (IN JANUARY) THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW STARTED MESSING UP (WHEN YOU ROLLED IT UP IT STARTED GOING UP CROOKED AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR HAND A STRAIGHTENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ROLLING IT UP ALL THE WAY. ALSO, THE SWITCHES THAT ARE IN THE MIDDLE AREA BETWEEN THE SEATS, THE ONE FOR THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER SIDE, QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER. TOWARD THE END OF FEBRUARY OR THE BEGINNING OF MARCH WE WERE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD ( GRANDSON WAS IN THE BACK LUCKILY ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE IN HIS CAR SEAT) AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW STARTED MALFUNCTIONING (WHEN YOU WENT TO ROLL IT UP THE MOTOR THAT ROLLS IT UP STARTED MAKING NOISE) AND THE WINDOW DROPPED AND SOMEHOW JAMMED THE DOOR COMPLETELY SHUT AND WE CANNOT OPEN IT. TODAY WHILE WE WERE OUT WE NOTICED THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW IS STARTING TO ACT UP. THAT'S THREE OUT OF 4 MESSING UP OR MESSED UP AND ONE HAS CAUSED US NOT TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AT ALL. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE ALL THIS FIXED ON OUR OWN AND IT IS NOT THAT OLD OF A VEHICLE AND THE MILEAGE IS NOT REALLY THAT HIGH AND IT IS STILL IN GOOD SHAPE OTHERWISE AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ FROM SOME OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS FILED ON HERE FOR THE 2007 JEEP LIBERTY THIS SEEMS TO BE A REPEATING ISSUE.
WHEN PUMPING GAS, FUEL GUSHES OUT WHEN REFUELING IS DONE. *TR
BEGINNING AT APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, FUEL WOULD SPIT-BACK IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FUEL NOZZLE SHUT OFF. THE AMOUNT OF FUEL SPIT BACK WAS SIGNIFICANT, DRENCHING THE LOWER HALF OF THE PERSON FUELING THE VEHICLE. AT FIRST, WE THOUGHT THIS MIGHT BE AN ISSUE WITH THE FUELING PUMP, BUT FOUND IT REPEATED ITSELF AT EVERY PUMP AND AT EVERY STATION WE UTILIZED. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO DEPEND ON RATE OF FUELING, AS EVEN ATTEMPTING TO FUEL SLOWLY RESULTS IN A DANGEROUS SPIT BACK OF FUEL AND POTENTIAL DRENCHING OF THE INDIVIDUAL. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER AND A DEFECTIVE VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. INTERESTINGLY, AFTER REPORTING THE LABOR CHARGE OF $200 TO INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE, WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY HAVE SEEN A NUMBER OF JEEPS WITH THIS PROBLEM. ONE WOULD THINK COMMON PROBLEMS COULD BE FOUND WITHOUT THIS LEVEL OF LABOR. THE VALVE IN QUESTION CANNOT BE OBTAINED AS AN INDIVIDUAL UNIT AND THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK MUST BE REPLACED AT THE COST OF APPROXIMATELY $900. GIVEN THAT NUMEROUS OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES OF THIS YEAR, INCLUDING WRANGLER, DODGE DURANGO, LIBERTY, AND OTHER MODELS ACROSS THE CHRYSLER, DODGE, AND JEEP BRAND EXHIBIT THIS PROBLEM AND THAT LACKING SIGNIFICANT MOVING PARTS, ONE CANNOT JUSTIFY A FUEL TANK COMPONENT FAILURE AFTER 35,000 MILES, THIS ISSUE IS UNQUESTIONABLE A DESIGN FAILURE. GIVEN THE IMMEDIATE HAZARD OF FIRE, LONG TERM HEALTH RISKS, AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF REPEATED EVENTS OF FUEL SPIT BACK FROM THESE VEHICLES REQUIRES INTERVENTION. *TR
FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS, MY JEEP OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME I FILL UP AT THE GAS STATION. AS SOON AS THE TANK IS FULL, AND THE GAS NOZZLE CLICKS OFF, A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GASOLINE COMES GUSHING OUT OF THE TANK. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH, AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM AMONG MANY CHRYSLER VEHICLE OWNERS. THIS IS NOT ONLY A SAFETY HAZARD, BUT CAUSES DAMAGE TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE, AND ISN'T GOOD ON THE ENVIRONMENT. I AM REALLY SURPRISED THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL OR TSB ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AS IT IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I HAVE TRIED SLOWING DOWN THE FLOW RATE ONCE I FEEL THE TANK IS NEARLY FULL, BUT THIS ONLY PREVENTS THE OVERFLOW A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THE TIME. *TR
ON OUR 2007 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT GASOLINE SPEWS OUT EVERYTIME WE FILL IT IF WE DO NOT SLOW THE FILLING UP WHEN WE THINK THE TANK MAY BECOMING NEAR FULL. SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU DO IT SPEWS OUT GASOLINE ONTO THE CAR AND THE PERSON FILLING IT. WE NEVER PUT IT ON AUTO TURN OFF WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK BECAUSE IT WILL SPEW OUT. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY GAS STATION IN SEVERAL STATES. THIS DANGEROUS TO THE PERSON FILLING THE TANK, TO THOSE AT THE GAS STATION, AND TO THE ENVIRONMENT. A SAFETY RECALL BY CHRYSLER JEEP OUGHT TO BE PUT IN MOTION SINCE MANY OTHERS HAVE POSTED THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING, GASOLINE FUEL SPILLED ONTO THE CONTACT'S CLOTHING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO PERFORMED AN INSPECTION AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL FILLER NECK WAS DEFECTIVE. THE FUEL FILLED NECK WAS REPLACED HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000. THIS IS MY 5TH TIME IN 4 YEARS! HAVING TO BRING INTO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE WINDOW FIXED. MALFUNCTIONS AND BREAK DOWN OF ELECTRIC WINDOW MOTORS OR REGULATORS. *TR
THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED AND THE WINDOW DROPPED. IT IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD IN PLACE WITH ZIP TIES AS THE REPAIR WILL BE ABOUT $300. BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER FRONT WINDOWS ARE SLOW TO GO BACK UP AND COME OFF TRACK. YOU HAVE TO PULL THEM TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE CAR TO GET THEM BACK UP. I EXPECT BOTH TO FAIL SOON. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY WITH ME 4 YR OLD SON IN REAR SAFETY SEAT WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW SLAMMED OPEN. IT COULD HAVE SHATTERED INTO THE VEHICLE WHERE MY SON WAS SITTING. THANK GOD IT DID NOT, THIS ISSUE I SEE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE JEEP LIBERTY'S. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN OF THE PART WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
JEEP: THE FUEL SPITS BACK DURING REFUELING. 2007 LIBERTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DETACHED AND FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR PANEL WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS BEGINNING TO FALL DOWN INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A REGULATOR CABLE BROKE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT A NEW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 45,000.
I BACKED MY JEEP LIBERTY SPORT INTO A TURN AROUND AREA, NEEDED TO PUT IT IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE. I PUT IT IN 4 WHEEL HI, THEN PULLED FORWARD. ONCE I WAS OUT OF THE TURN AROUND AREA I PUT IT BACK IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING VERY SLUGGISH. I STOPPED TO MAKE SURE NOTHING WAS STUCK IN THE TIRES OR IN THE WHEEL WELLS. I CONTINUED DRIVING AND IT DID NOT WANT TO GO ABOVE 40 MILES AN HOUR. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES I HEARD A RATHER LOUD POPPING SOUND, FOLLOWED BY WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A CHAIN BEING DRAGGED UNDER THE VEHICLE. I STOPPED TO LOOK UNDER IT BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING, SO I SLOWLY MADE MY WAY TOWARDS HOME. AFTER ANOTHER FEW MINUTES IT WAS BASICALLY UNDRIVABLE, SO I STOPPED AT A FRIENDS HOUSE AND GOT A RIDE HOME. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE MECHANICS THEY TOLD ME THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT HAD BROKEN IN HALF. I GOT THAT REPAIRED JUST TO BE TOLD THAT THE REAR PINION IS SHOT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN FINE UP TILL THAT POINT, AND I HAD USED 4 WHEEL DRIVE ON OTHER OCCASIONS. NOW FOR SOME REASON AFTER USING IT THIS TIME I HAD A $600 BILL TO REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT AND WHAT I AM BEING TOLD IS AT LEAST ANOTHER $600 TO $900 BILL FOR THE REAR PINION. ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH THIS? *TR

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND THE ENGINE IDLED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MAY POSSIBLY NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000. UPDATED 01/24/12*LJ THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO PASSING GEAR, BUT WOULD GO INTO NEUTRAL WHILE THE ENGINE RACED. THE VEHICLE COASTED UNTIL IT SLOWED DOWN AND TRANSMISSION RE-ENGAGED AT A LOWER SPEED. UPDATED 01/25/12

GAS TANK PROBLEM; EVERY TIME I FILLED THE TANK WHEN NUZZLE STOPS FILLING IT SHUT A LINE OF GASOLINE OUT TO THE POINT THAT IF YOU NOT KNOW WILL WET ALL YOUR CLOTHING. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DROPPED INTO THE DOOR. REPAIRMAN STATES THAT THE REGULATOR ON THE WINDOW HAS WENT BAD. COST OVER $300.00 TO FIX. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE BACK DRIVER SIDE FELL INTO THE DOOR, AND AGAIN THE REPAIRMAN STATES THE SAME PROBLEM. NOW THE TOTAL COST TO HAVE BOTH FIX OVER $600. I HAD THE PASSENGER SIDE FIXED, AND HAD THE BACK DRIVER SIDE BLOCKED UP. DO YOU THINK THAT AFTER SOME MANY COMPLAINTS THAT THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE THESE REGULATORS AND MAYBE HAVE A RECALL ON THEM. IT'S NOW NOV. 2011, AND MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW IS ACTING THE SAME WAY...THINK IT MIGHT BE THE NEXT ONE. *TR
THE WINDOWS IN MY JEEP ARE FALLING DOWN. IN 2011, EACH WINDOW FELL DOWN. I WOULD PARK MY JEEP AND THE NEXT MORNING THE WINDOW WAS DOWN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPAIRED THE FIRST WINDOW. THEN THE NEXT WINDOW FELL DOWN AND AGAIN THEY REPAIRED THAT ONE. THEY MADE ME WAIT FOR THE NEXT TO WINDOWS TO FALL DOWN ONE AT A TIME AND REPAIRED THEM. NOW MY WINDOWS ARE FALLING DOWN AGAIN. ON 9/6/2015 MY WINDOW FELL DOWN DURING THE NIGHT. I JUST HAD IT REPAIRED ON 9/10/2015. I NOTIFIED DAIMLER CHRYSLER CORPORATION. THEY RESPONDED, THAT UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS MY PROBLEM AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. IT WILL COST ME 174.43 FOR EACH WINDOW REGULATOR LIFT PLATE TO BE FIXED. I MUST HAVE MY WINDOWS FIXED. I CAN NOT PARK MY JEEP SOMEWHERE AND HAVE THE WINDOWS FALL DOWN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I FEEL IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
MY GIRLFRIENDS 2007 JEEP LIBERTY CONSISTENTLY OVER FLOWS WHEN REFUELING. I AM AN EXPERIENCED MECHANICAL ENGINEER AND AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I SUSPECT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU LOOK AT THIS RIGHT AWAY. *TR
2007 JEEP LIBERTY. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH TIRES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO HAVE FOUR NEW TIRES, WHEN IN FACT ONLY THREE OF THE TIRES WERE NEW. THE FOURTH TIRE WAS THE ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE MANUFACTURED THREE TO FOUR YEARS EARLIER AND HAD NO TREAD WEAR. *JB

I HAVE A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY AND @ 44,000 MILES I HAD TO HAVE THE COMPRESSOR REPLACED, THE AUTO SHOP STATED THAT THE WIRES BURNED OUT AND THIS STOP THE COMPRESSOR WORKING, I ASKED HOW THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS COULD HAVE NOT BEEN AVOIDED DUE TO THE WAY JEEP HAS THE COMPRESSOR HOUSED. THIS COST ME OVER $1,000.00. *TR

FUEL OVERFLOW ISSUE. WHEN FUELING VEHICLE AS THE TANK GETS FULL AND THE GAS PUMP CLICKS OFF, FUEL SPEWS OUT OF FILLER TUBE ONTO SIDE OF VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. THIS SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE. HAPPENS EVERY TIME FILLING UP THE TANK. DEALER WANTED $813 + TAX TO REPAIR/REPLACE FUEL TANK. *KB

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED A REIMBURSEMENT. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND ATTEMPTING A TURN, THE STEERING WOULD BECOME HARD TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE RACK AND PINION AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE PUMP ALONE. THIS HAS BECOME SO COMMON THAT CHRYSLER HAS ADVISED DEALERSHIPS TO REPLACE THE REGULATOR WITH AN UPDATED MODEL AT CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE, WHICH HAS OCCURRED WITH BOTH OF MY REAR WINDOWS. NOW MY DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW HAS FAILED FOR THE SECOND TIME AND WILL HAVE TO BE REPAIRED THIS UPCOMING WEEK. *TR
WHILE WE WERE ON VACATION, WE WERE RIDING AROUND IN OUR CAR WITH THE WINDOWS PARTIALLY DOWN. WHILE WE WERE RIDING, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FELL COMPLETELY INTO THE DOOR PANEL. WE STOPPED & WERE ABLE TO BORROW TOOLS TO GET THE WINDOW BACK UP. WE STUFFED THE WINDOWS WITH CARDBOARD TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. WHEN WE CAME HOME, MY BOYFRIEND OPENED THE DOOR PANEL AND PLACED A BLOCK OF WOOD IN IT BECAUSE THE WINDOWS KEPT FALLING DOWN! SOME TIME LATER, THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW DID THE SAME THING! IT TOO WOULD NOT STAY UP, SO HE INSTALLED A BLOCK OF WOOD IN THAT DOOR PANEL AS WELL. WE RESEARCHED REPLACEMENT PARTS (USED) AND HAVE BEEN TOLD OVER & OVER THAT THEY SIMPLY ARE NOT AVAILABLE. WHEN WE PRICED NEW PARTS, THEY ARE OUTRAGEOUS. THE CHEAP PLASTIC PIECES THAT HOLD THE WINDOW IN PLACE & LOCKED ARE OVER $100. I FIND THAT RIDICULOUS. WE HAVE FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND JEEP STILL HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. WE SIMPLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND. *TR
