TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WINDOWS FAILED TO OPEN AND CLOSE. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (BERWICK DODGE LOCATED AT 1127 PINE ST BERWICK, PA 18603) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOWS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ADVISED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE POWER LIFT UNIT DUE TO A BROKEN PLASTIC CLIP THAT HELD THE WINDOW UP. THIS CAUSES THE WINDOW TO SLIP DOWN INTO THE INSIDE THE DOOR FRAME. REAR PASSENGER WINDOW HAS FALLEN INTO THE DOOR. THIS IS A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT AMONG THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR. AND IT APPEARS THAT ALL FOUR WINDOWS ARE AT RISK OF THE SAME DEFECT. NOT SURE WHEN THIS HAPPENED, PROBABLY WHILE STATIONARY AT NIGHT.
REAR PASSENGER WINDOW IS OFF TRACK AND KEEPS FALLING INTO THE DOOR. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN IT FIRST OCCURED, BUT NOW IT CONTINUES TO FALL INTO THE DOOR EVEN IF I'M STATIONARY. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IN REGARDS TO THE BLOWER MOTOR. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE BLOWER MOTOR ON MY JEEP BECAUSE THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. THE FIRST TIME WAS TAKEN CARE OF BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AFTER MY PURCHASE IN 2014. BUT IT HAS GONE OUT AGAIN. THIS TIME THE BLOWER MOTOR HAD GOTTEN SO HOT THAT IT MELTED THE WIRE CASING OF THE WIRES. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. THE COMPANY SAID THAT SINCE IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY IT'S NOT THERE PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT SOMEONE SHOULD LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM WITH THE BLOWER MOTORS. I HAD ALSO CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON TRAILER HITCH. WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM I ASKED ABOUT THE BLOWER MOTOR. THEY SAID THAT THERE WASN'T A RECALL ON IT. BUT THE PERSON I SPOKE TO HAD SAID HE HAS THE SAME VEHICLE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO HIM AND THAT HE HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL BLOWER MOTOR AND CHRYSLER SHOULD TAKE IT SERIOUSLY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED BECAUSE IT STARTS A FIRE. I WAS JUST LUCKY ENOUGH THAT MINE DIDN'T CATCH FIRE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL FOUR WINDOWS DROPPED DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR PANELS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WINDOW WAS REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE REAR AND FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR WINDOWS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
I AM WRITING ABOUT THE WINDOW REGULATORS IN A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. SEVERAL YEARS BACK, THERE WAS A RECALL, AND WITHIN THE TIME FRAME OF THAT RECALL, WE HAD 3 WINDOW REGULATORS GO BAD AND GET FIXED. WE JUST HAD THE 4TH WINDOW SLIDE DOWN AND NOW JEEP IS SAYING THE WARRANTY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT AND THEY WILL NOT FIX IT. IT SHOULDN'T MATTER WHEN THE PROBLEM HAPPENED, A PROBLEM IS A PROBLEM AND IT SHOULDN'T HAVE TO HAPPEN WITHIN A CERTAIN TIME FRAME TO GET IT FIXED. *TR
PASSENGER WINDOW FELL INTO DOOR WHEN PASSENGER EXITED VEHICLE AND CLOSED DOOR. CAR WAS NOT TURNED ON AT THE TIME. CAR IS AT JEEP DEALERSHIP IN BATAVIA, OH FOR REPAIR. THIS IS THE 7TH TIME I HAVE HAD A WINDOW REGULATOR/ LIFT PLATE FAIL. SEVENTH!! CHRYSLER ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IN 2010 FOR SELECT MODELS OF JEEP LIBERTY VEHICLES THAT EXPIRED IN MARCH 2014. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER. MY WINDOW ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED! I AM EXHAUSTED FROM NOT ONLY FIGHTING WITH CHRYSLER ABOUT THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS, BUT ALSO FROM THE INCONVENIENCE OF HAVING THESE WINDOWS FAIL. I HAVE DRIVEN FOR HOURS IN THE RAIN WITH A WINDOW OPEN AND I HAVE DRIVEN FOR HOURS AT SUBZERO TEMPS ON AN EXPRESSWAY IN A BLIZZARD WITH A WINDOW OPEN. AND I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE AROUND WITH PLASTIC TAPED TO MY WINDOW (LOOKS HORRENDOUS) AND RISK HAVING PERSONAL AFFECTS STOLEN DUE TO MY INABILITY TO SECURE MY VEHICLE. I EXPECT TIRES AND BRAKES TO WEAR AND HOSE AND BELTS TO FAIL OVER TIME. I DO NOT EXPECT TO PAY TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR A VEHICLE THAT HAS FAULTY WINDOWS!! ON THIS DATE I WAS DRIVING DOWN HWY 97 AT 60MPH. THE RIGHT SIDE REAR WINDOW FELL DOWN. THIS IS THE 3RD WINDOW OUT OF 4 THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. THE DEALER, DAMSKOV AUTO IN OMAK, WA. FIXED THE LEFT REAR FOR FREE. WHEN THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FELL, THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. NOW MY 3RD ONE WAS JUST INSPECTED AND AN ESTIMATE GIVEN ($391) TO REPAIR IT ALSO. WITH 2 CAR SEATS IN THE REAR, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT JEEP REFUSES TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR. IVE NOTIFIED JEEP 3 TIMES AND THEY STILL REFUSE TO REPAIR THIS.THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS JEEP FOR THE WINDOWS, HOWEVER THEY SAY NOT THIS EXACT PART THAT KEEPS BREAKING. PLEASE HELP ME. WHEN I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I HAD TAKEN IT BACK FOR A PROBLEM W/THAT WINDOW, BUT THEY SAID THEY FOUND NO PROBLEM. I ENDED UP HAVING TO GO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR AN ENTIRE NEW WINDOW SYSTEM, SO I COULD GET THE WINDOW TO ROLL UP. 2007 JEEP LIBERTY - POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE: JUNE 3 - 2014 - THE RIGHT FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED AND BECAME INOPERABLE. ON JULY 10, 2014, THE RIGHT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED, AND THE WINDOW ROLLED DOWN ON ITS OWN WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THE WINDOW BECAME INOPERABLE AND COULD NOT BE ROLLED BACK UP. IN THE SERVICE TECH'S REPORT, THE WINDOW REGULATOR "CAME APART." CHRYSLER-JEEP HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THIS PART TO SEVEN YEARS FROM SERVICE DATE THROUGH MARCH 7, 2014 OR ONE MILLION MILES, WHICHEVER CAME FIRST. THEREFORE THEY REFUSE TO COVER THE REPAIR COST UNDER WARRANTY. I AM SENDING THIS REPORT BECAUSE I BELIEVE THESE TWO INCIDENTS HAVE IDENTIFIED AN IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE. BECAUSE THE FAILURE CAUSES THE WINDOW TO ROLL DOWN ON ITS OWN AND BECOME INOPERABLE, IF IT DOES SO AT HIGHWAY SPEED OR IN INCLEMENT CONDITIONS THIS COULD PRESENT A SAFETY HAZARD. ALSO THE FACT THAT TWO DIFFERENT WINDOW REGULATORS ON THE SAME VEHICLE FAILED IN CONSECUTIVE MONTHS ROUGHLY ONE MONTH APART INDICATES TO ME THAT THERE MAY BE A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THIS PART, AND ALL SUCH PARTS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. *JS

SAME GAS PROBLEM IT OVERFLOWS TANK WHEN FILLING IT. ABS LIGHT, ESP BAS, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND BRAKES GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AT TIMES. WINDOW REGULATORS KEEP GOING OUT MAKING MY VEHICLE UNSAFE FOR ME TO PUT MY CHILD IN. WINDOW REGULATORS REPLACED ON THREE SEPARATE WINDOWS STARTING IN 2010, AND ONE IN 2013 AND NOW 2014. DEALERSHIP SAID ONLY LIFT PLATE HAS EXTENDED WARRANTY, NOT THE REGULATOR. YET MY DEALERSHIP (TWO SINCE 2010) TOLD ME IT'S THE REGULATOR. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE 4TH ONE GOES OUT. I'M SICK OF PAYING FOR THIS WHEN TWO OF THE WINDOWS THAT BROKE I HAVE NEVER ROLLED DOWN EXCEPT TO CLEAN. AND ONE REGULATOR BROKE WHILE THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLEANING IT.
