ALMOST 8 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE THE SUNROOF AND BACK WINDSHIELD STARTED LEAKING WATER WHEN EVER IT RAINED.I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND PAID TO HAVE IT REPAIRED HOWEVER IT LEAKED AGAIN PLUS NOW THE WATER HAS STAINED THE MATERIAL. PLUS THE ELECTRIC HAS SHORTED OUT AND THIS WAS REPAIRED. A THIRD TIME OF THE WATER LEAKING AND REPLACING THE SEALS HAS NOT HELPED. WHEN THE WEATHER IS BAD WE CAN NOT DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO WATER LEAKING ON TO PASSENGERS PLUS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR FEAR OF BREAKING DOWN WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THIS IS THE THIRD JEEP THAT WE HAVE OWNED .

JEEP LIBERTY 08, ENGINE HESITATE AND RUNS ROUGH WHEN DRIVING AT A STEADY 42-MPH AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE. TEST WAS PERFORMED BY TECH AND CONCERN WAS VERIFIED. TECH CONTACTED ENGINEERS AND WAS ADVISED TO REPLACED TORQUE CONVERTER. TORQUE CON. WAS REPLACED BUT STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. NOTHING CHANGED. THIS IS THE SECOND ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. FIRST ON JANUARY AND NOW IN APRIL 14, 2009. VEHICLE BOUGHT ON NOVEMBER 28, 2008. *TR
SIGNAL LIGHT FAILS TO TURN OFF IMMEDIATELY WHEN RETURNED TO THE NEUTRAL OFF) POSITION. DURING THE WINTER, THE TURN SIGNAL ON AN 18 DEG. F. MORNING WOULD NOT TURN OFF TILL I HAD DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES. I CARRIED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP (ABOUT 25 MILES AWAY) BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RECREATE THE FAILURE. HOWEVER, NOW THE SIGNAL DOES THE SAME ON WARMER DAYS BUT DOES NOT ALWAYS HAPPEN AND IS NOT PREDICTABLE. *TR
WHEN DRIVING THE JEEP UP HILL THE JEEP WILL DROP ITS SPEED TREMENDOUSLY FROM 65 OR 70 TO 40 OR EVEN 30 MPH. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT UP A HILL. IN HEAVY HIGHWAY IT IS DANGEROUS. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT'S HOW THEY ALL OPERATE AND AFTER CHECKING THE VEHICLE NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP TO JUST PUSH THE ACCELERATOR DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND THIS MAY HELP. THIS PROCESS IS ALSO VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE WHEN YOU GET PAST THE HILL THE CAR IS THEN MOVING AT A HIGH SPEED WHICH IS ALSO DANGEROUS. SINCE THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THE DEALERSHIP STATES CANNOT BE CORRECTED. CONSUMERS SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF THIS MALFUNCTION OF THIS VEHICLE. ROAD TRIPS ARE NOT SAFE IF YOU DRIVE UPHILL. NOTHING WILL BE DONE UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS. UNFORTUNATELY CHRYSLER WILL CONTINUE TO SWEEP THIS UNDER THE RUG UNTIL THEN. I ALSO CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR CHRYSLER WHICH WAS A WASTE OF TIME DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WAS HUNG UP ON AND REFUSED A MANAGER AS WELL AS ANY ONE OF AUTHORITY. I WOULD LIKE A RESOLUTION TO THIS TYPE OF DEFECT WHICH IS NOT A NORMAL OPERATION OF ANY VEHICLE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT MANY CUSTOMERS COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS AND OBVIOUSLY NOTHING IS GOING TO BE DONE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE CAR IS SAFE AND A REPRESENTATIVE FROM CHRYSLER VERIFIED THAT KNOWING THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM WITH HILLS. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THE BODY IS TOO HEAVY FOR A 4 CYLINDER ENGINE. UNFORTUNATELY CHRYSLER DOES NOT MAKE THE CONSUMERS AWARE OF THIS BEFORE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS A CONCERN OF MINE AS WELL. I AM SURE THAT EVENTUALLY EVERY CUSTOMER THAT HAS PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IS AWARE OF IT AFTER THE FACT. *TR
SLIDER TOP ENDS CAME UNGLUED.TOOK TO MALL OF GEORGIA JEEP FOR REPAIR.AFTER REPAIR THE TOP WHILE GOING DOWN HIGHWAY SLIGHTLY OPENED UP. TOOK BACK TO DEALER HE SAID OUT OF WARRANTY. I TOLD THEM THAT YOU TOOK MY TOP OFF FOR REPAIR AND YOU DID NOT GET THE TENSION CABLE CORRECTLY TIGHTENED.WELL SEVERAL MONTHS WENT BY THEN THE CABLE THAT TIGHTENS THE TOP UP BROKE.I HAVE SEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE TOP THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE. *TR

WITHIN THE INTERIOR OF THE JEEP THERE ARE STRESS POINTS WHERE THE PLASTIC WAS MOLDED, AND DUE TO THE CHEAP NATURE OF THE PLASTIC WHERE THE STRESS POINTS (PLASTIC CLIP AREAS) ARE LOCATED THERE ARE DISCOLORATION SPOTS FORMING IN THE PLASTIC INTERIOR IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS WITHIN THE INTERIOR OF THE JEEP. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND A COMPLETE FAILURE OF QUALITY CONTROL. *TR
2008 JEEP LIBERTY CHATTERS WHEN BACKING UP SLIGHT INCLINE. PROBLEM SINCE NEW. STILL UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER INSTALLED TORQUE CONVERTER AND NEW REAR DRIVE SHAFT ON TWO DIFFERENT VISITS. NEITHER SOLVED ISSUE. DEALER AND CHRYSLER TOLD ME THAT THIS IS "...THE NATURE OF THE BEAST." LOCAL SERVICE REP. TOLD ME THAT HE'S DRIVEN SEVERAL WITH SAME PROBLEM. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO GO ANY FURTHER WITH SOLVING THE ISSUE, BASICALLY, TELLING ME TO "...LIVE WITH IT." IF, INDEED, IT IS "...THE NATURE OF THE BEAST...," SHOULDN'T THERE BE A RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS? AT THIS POINT, I'M LOOKING INTO LITIGATION FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT, AS THEIR WARRANTY ASSURES ME A FLAWLESS PRODUCT. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDER OR JERK WHILE BACKING UP ON AN INCLINE. THE CONSUMER WAS ADVISED BY A CHRSYLER REP TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP TO GET A DIAGNOSIS ONLY. THE REPAIR SHOP BELIEVED THE PROBLEM WAS THE FRONT U-JOINT ON THE REAR DRIVELINE WHICH WAS VERY STIFF IN ONE DIRECTION, THE SLIP YOKE WAS A LITTLE STIFF AND THE HILL BRAKE DID NOT RELEASE QUICK ENOUGH. THE DRIVELINE WAS INSTALLED. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. UPDATED 01/12/11. *JB *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING THROUGH THE MOON ROOF AND IT WAS HARD TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STRUCTURE OF THE ROOF WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,000. UPDATED 3/5/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE SKY SLIDER ROOF WAS REPAIRED IN 2009. SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR. THE ROOF CONTINUED TO PARTIALLY OPEN. UPDATED 03/21/14
I WAS IN TRAFFIC & ANOTHER CAR CAME DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO HITTING ME. I WAS USING MY HORN AND MID-WAY THROUGH IT STOPPED WORKING. THE HORN WAS INOPERABLE FOR 3-5 MINUTES. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. *TR
I HAVE 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE PROBLEM 1) THE DEFROSTERS ARE TO CENTRALLY LOCATED AND DO NOT CLEAR ICE AND SNOW OFF THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD. 2) THE FRONT TURNING SIGNALS GET COVERED WITH SNOW AND NEED TO BE CLEANED OFF EVERYTIME THERE IS ANY SNOW. THE SNOW LAYS ON THE FRONT BUMPER AND COVERS THE TURNING SIGNALS. BOTH OF THESE ARE HAZARDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, WATER BEGAN LEAKING THROUGH THE RETRACTABLE SKY SLIDER, ALLOWING AIR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STRUCTURE OF THE ROOF WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT RECURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,701.
HORN, LIGHTS, WIPERS AND WINDSHIELD WASHER SPRAYING ALL HAPPEN ON THERE OWN WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM CAUSED BY THE TIPM UNIT. *TR
2008 JEEP LIBERTY - DRIVING LIGHTS VERY POOR ILLUMINATION. HIGH OR LOW BEAM. ONE MUST DRIVE WITH THE FOG LAMPS AND LOW BEAM FOR ACCEPTABLE ILLUMINATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 30 MPH AS TRANSMISSION FLUID BEGAN ABNORMALLY LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE TRANSMISSION SEAL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION SEAL AND HOUSING EXTENSION BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT GEARS, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD EXHIBIT AN UNUSUAL KNOCKING. ON ONE OCCASION WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE ACCELERATION BY ABRUPTLY APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,850 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING, THE FUEL OVERFLOWED AND SPEWED ONTO THE CONTACT'S HANDS, ARMS AND CLOTHING. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE CONTACT REFUELED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THERE WAS NO DEFECT FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,500.
MY JEEP LIBERTY DOES NOT DEFOG PROPERLY. AT OUTDOOR TEMPS BELOW -13 C. IT BEGINS TO ICE UP AND WILL GET TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CANNOT SEE OUT OF THE SIDE WINDOWS. IT HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALER SIX TIMES. THE LAST TIME THEY SAID THEY HAD REPLACED THE ENTIRE HEATING SYSTEM. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE ENGINEERS AT CHRYSLER CANADA TOLD ME THE SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY SENSITIVE TO MOISTURE; SO IF THERE ARE WET BOOTS OR A HOCKEY BAG IN THE VEHICLE THE SYSTEM WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. CONSIDERING I LIVE IN NORTHERN ONTARIO THIS SOUNDS A LITTLE STRANGE TO ME. I DID KEEP THE RECORDED MESSAGE FROM CHRYSLER COSTUMER SERVICE. *TR

THIS IS JUST PLAIN WRONG,...GOT COLD... PUT IN ANOTHER NEW BATTERY.STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS DAY ONE.....THIS MAKES ME MAD. PROBLEM STILL EXIST AND NOW IT IS OUT OF EXTENDED WARRANTY. WHEN IT IS VERY COLD OUTSIDE (10F OR SO) THE DEFROST ON FOR THE FRONT WINDOW OF MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY DOES NOT DEFROST THE WINDOW ALL THE WAY AND ICE FORMS ON THE INSIDE. YOU CANNOT SEE OUT THE WINDOW, AND WITH MORE THEN ONE PERSON IN THE JEEP, IT DOES NOT CLEAR UP ALL THE WAY, NO MATTER HOW LONG OF A TRIP YOU TAKE IN THE CAR. THE WINDOW FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE A PILLER, DOES NOT CLEAR UP AND YOU ARE FORCED TO WIPE OFF THE FROST BY HAND ALL THE TIME. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE AND IS UNSAFE. *TR
DURING COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS, THERE IS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF FOG AND OR ICE THAT BUILDS UP ALONG BOTH OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE A PILLAR. DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE DASH DEFROST VENTS, AIR FLOW ACROSS THIS SECTION OF THE WINDSHIELD IS INSUFFICIENT MAKING UP TO 25 PERCENT OF THE WINDSHIELD AREA NON VISIBLE. *TR
WITH THE PARKING BRAKE FULLY ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE IS FULLY DRIVE ABLE ONCE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGED. WARNING LIGHT, ON DASH, AND ALARM SOUNDS BUT THE PARKING BRAKE DOES NOT KEEP, OR EVEN IMPEDE, THE CAR FROM MOVING. HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED THREE TIMES, AT TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, AND PARKING BRAKES DO NOT WORK. *TR
INTERIOR FRONT AND REAR DOOR HANDLES PLASTICS SCRATCH VERY EASILY DUE TO LACK OF OIL USED FOR PLASTIC PRODUCTION. THE PLASTIC NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE USE OF ONLY CHEAP PAINT BEING PAINTED OVER THE HANDLE AREAS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, AND STEERING LOCKED UP, BUT THE VEHICLE MAINTAINED ITS SPEED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STALL. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO PARK AND SKID OFF THE ROAD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT LEAST THREE TIMES ON NOVEMBER 19, 2008. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY FAILURES. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,500.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER 2008. DURING THE WINTER MONTHS THE DEFROST OPERATES AT 10% AND FAILED TO COMPLETELY DEFROST THE WINDSHIELDS. TWO DEALERS STATED THAT DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE THEY ARE UNABLE TO MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. ONLY 2 TO 3 INCHES OF THE WINDOW WAS CLEARED FROM THE DASH BOARD. THE CONTACT WAS WILLING TO PAY THE REPAIR COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37000.
SKY SLIDER ROOF DOES NOT STAY TIGHT TO FRAME AND ALSO HAS SERIOUS WIND NOISE. *TR
THE FIRST TIRE INFLATION VALVE STEM AND SENDING UNIT ASSEMBLY FAILED RESULTING IN DASHBOARD ALERT AND INABILITY TO INFLATE OR CHECK TIRE PRESSURE AS THE UNIT WAS BROKEN. AT FIRST THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY BUT SUBSEQUENTLY DID REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY AT A LATER DATE. THE PROBLEM ONCE AGAIN HAPPENED ON A SECOND TIRE THIS TIME OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO THE VALVE ASSEMBLY BEING CONSTRUCTED OF DISSIMILAR METALS CAUSING PREMATURE CORROSION AND STEM FAILURE. SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY THE DEALER OFFERED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ONCE AND FOR ALL BY REPLACING THE VALVE STEM ON ALL FOUR TIRES WITH COMMON RUBBER STEMS WITHOUT THE SENDING UNITS. THE OFFERED FIX WOULD OBVIOUSLY DISABLE THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM BUT WOULD "FIX" THE BROKEN STEM ASSEMBLY PROBLEM. THE DEALER INDICATED THIS WOULD BE DONE AS THIS WAS A COMMON, FRUSTRATING, EXPENSIVE KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE SKY SLIDER FRACTURED AND DID NOT SEAL PROPERLY. THE FAILURE CAUSED AIR TO SEEP IN AND WATER TO LEAK WHEN IT RAINED. IN ADDITION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO DEACTIVATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD THE SKY SLIDER REPAIRED SIX TIMES UNDER WARRANTY AT DUTCHESS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (2285 SOUTH RD, POUGHKEEPSIE, NY 12601, (845)-243-5687) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SKY SLIDER MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE INTERMITTENTLY RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PART FOR THE REPAIR WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.

A PART FOR THE POWER WINDOWS FAILS DUE TO PRESSURE ON IT(ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER) ALLOWING THE WINDOW TO DROP. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON THREE OF THE FOUR WINDOWS NOW (THE THIRD HAPPENED TODAY) I COME OUT OF WORK AND THE WINDOW IS DOWN. FORTUNATELY THE WEATHER WAS GOOD DURING THESE OCCURRENCES. AND NO ONE APPARENTLY NOTICED AS THE WALKED BY IT. I HAVE ASKED THEM TO REPLACE THE FOURTH ONE WHILE THEY ARE DOING THE THIRD BUT THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIX IT UNTIL IT BREAKS. I TOLD THEM THAT I AM TIRED OF TAKING OFF WORK TO GET THIS FIXED. THIS CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD. THEY TOLD ME IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. I CAN'T TAKE A CHANCE THAT SOMEONE WON'T SEE IT DOWN AND GET IN. *TR

THE SKYSLIDER ROOF ON TRUCK MAKE LOUD WIND NOISE WHEN DRIVING ABOVE 60 MPH SO LOUD YOU CAN'T HEAR CAR HORNS. I HAVE BEEN TO DEALER 5 TIMES AND IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED YET. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT LEASES A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. ON APRIL 7, 2008, WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND IT BECAME STUCK. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR THROTTLE FAILED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON JUNE 6, 2008 AND THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT, AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,200.
2008 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4 SKYSLIDER ROOF DOES NOT SEAL BACK DOWN WHEN CLOSED AND CAUSES SEVERE WIND NOISE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. I'VE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER TWICE. THE FIRST TIME THEY JUST ADJUSTED IT, THE SECOND THEY ORDERED IN A NEW MODULATOR. BOTH TIMES IT SOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN BACK TO THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS SUN ROOF. THEY HAVE NOT SOLD ALOT OF JEEPS WITH THE SKYSLIDER, SO THE COMPLAINTS MAY BE FEW, BUT I HAVE TALKED TO A COUPLE OWNERS AND THEY HAVE ALL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
WATER MARK DISCOLORATION ON THE CLOTH SEATS OF THE 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. ANY FORM OF CONDENSATION, SWEAT OR EVEN RAIN WATER WILL CAUSE THESE SEATS TO STAIN. STAINS REMAIN EVEN AFTER THE SEATS HAVE DRIED. *TR
I AM ON MY SECOND FRONT WINDSHIELD FOR MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WITHIN 2000 MILES OF DRIVING MY NEW JEEP, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DEVELOPED A MYRIAD OF TINY "POCK MARKS". THE MARKS BECAME SO NUMEROUS THAT VISIBILITY BEGAN TO DIMINISH, ESPECIALLY WITH A STRONG SUN GLARE. THE WINDSHIELD SUBSEQUENTLY CRACKED AT THE 13000 MILE POINT AND WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP WITH A FACTORY WINDOW. THE NEW FRONT WINDOW HAS APPROX 1000 MILES ON IT AND IT DEVELOPING THE SAME MARKS. I DO NOT WORK IN AN INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT AND THE JEEP IS ALWAYS GARAGED AT HOME. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. HE STATED THAT HE HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO TOW THE VEHICLE BEHIND A MOBILE HOME, PER MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. AS A RESULT, THERE IS NO POWER AND THE AUXILIARY BRAKING SYSTEM WAS INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AUXILIARY BRAKING SYSTEM HAS TO BE OPERABLE PER STATE LAW. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HE MUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS REGARDLESS OF THE LAW. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 500 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE 10. UPDATED 03/06/08. *LJ
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN OCTOBER OF 2007, THE GEARS FAILED TO SHIFT ONCE PLACED INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SPIKE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY, LEAVE IT OFF FOR FIVE MINUTES, AND THE GEARS WOULD SHIFT PROPERLY. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED FOUR TIMES SINCE TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,194 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. BOUGHT BRAND NEW CAR LAST YEAR JEEP LIBERTY WITH GOOD YEAR TIRES. WITHIN 15,000 THE TIRE IS DEFECTED. GOOD YEAR COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE TIRE AND NEITHER COULD FIRESTONE FOR ANOTHER OPINION SAID THAT IT WAS NOT ABLE TO BE FIXED AND HAD TO SPEND $180 TO GET A NEW TIRE. GOODYEAR WOULD NOT REPLACE THE TIRE OR DO ANYTHING BECAUSE OF THEIR WARRANTY POLICY. 15,000 MILES ON A TIRE IS NOT WARRANTED ENOUGH. *TR
WHEN AT A STOP, ON A VERY LITTLE OR SLIGHT INCLINE, LESS THAN 7% BY PLACING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE THE FOLLOWING OCCURS. VEHICLE WILL SURGE ABOUT 6 INCHES AND STOP THEN SURGE ABOUT 6 INCHES AND STOP, BY APPLYING MORE THROTTLE, ENGINE RPM APPROX 2500 TO 3000 THE VEHICLE WILL MOVE. TURNED OFF THE HILL START ASSIST (HSA) PROBLEM SOLVED. NO ADVISE FROM DEALER AS TO CAUSE OF ORIGINAL STATED PROBLEM OR REPAIR. *TR
