2008 JEEP LIBERTY. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING RECENT OVERFLOWING GAS ON FILL UP *TGW
THE FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE TANK WHEN FUELING THE CAR RESULTING IN GAS ON THE VEHICLE AND GROUND OF THE GAS STATION. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID IT NEEDED A FUEL VAPOR FILTER REPLACED. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND NOW THE DEALER STATES I NEED A NEW GAS TANK. SINCE THIS IS A NON-MAINTAINABLE PART I FEEL IT IS A MFR. DEFECT AND A VERY UNSAFE ONE AT THAT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ADDING GASOLINE TO THE FUEL TANK THE FUEL WOULD SPILL OUT. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TALK TO NHTSA REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000. UPDATED 9/13/11 *CN UPDATED 09/30/11.
THE GASTANK OVERFLOWS AND SPITS OUT A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE EVERY TIME YOU GET GAS! IT IS A HAZARD AND A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER JEEP FOR A YEAR NOW AND THEY REFUSE TO ASSIST IN CORRECTING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO GET THE GASTANK REPAIRED AND IT STILL WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. FROM MY RESEARCH THERE ARE MANY OF THESE COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. I CAN'T BELIEVE JEEP HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES. I AM WORRIED EVERYDAY ABOUT THE SAFETY OF ME AND MY FAMILY. I'M NOT WILLING TO TAKE ANY MORE CHANCES WITH GAS ALL OVER THE TRUCK EVERY TIME I DRIVE, AND HOW CAN I GO ABOUT SELLING A CAR TO SOMEONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOT SURE WHERE TO GO NEXT. I PURCHASED MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4 IN NOVEMBER 2010, AND EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE FILLED UP WITH GAS, THE FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE TANK JUST AS THE NOZZLE SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT EVERY GAS STATION AND EVERY TYPE OF PUMP I HAVE USED. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE THE GAS RUNS DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE (NEAR THE EXHAUST), ONTO THE GROUND, AND OFTEN GETS ON ME. I CANNOT IMAGINE THIS IS SAFE. NOT ONLY IS THE SPILL HARMFUL TO THE ENVIRONMENT, IT IS ALSO A FIRE HAZARD. AND, WITH FUEL PRICES CREEPING UP, I BECOME MORE AND MORE FRUSTRATED AT THIS WASTED FUEL THAT I AM PAYING FOR. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT A SIMILAR ISSUE WAS FOUND IN 2007-2008 JEEP WRANGLERS, BUT THERE WAS NO RECALL. PLEASE MAKE CHRYSLER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAULTY VALVE THAT IS SUPPOSEDLY CAUSING THIS ISSUE - FOR THE SAFETY AND PIECE OF MIND OF ALL LOYAL JEEP OWNERS. *TR
I OWN A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. I AM THE SECOND OWNER AND PURCHASED IN LATE NOVEMBER 2010. THE MILEAGE AT PURCHASE WAS ONLY 8,000 MILES. WHEN I FILLED THE TANK FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, IT OVERFLOWED, SPILLING GAS DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP, ON MY FEET, CLOTHES, HANDS, ETC. EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK, IT OVER FLOWS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS HIGHLY UNSAFE AS WELL AS AN INCONVENIENCE. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY SHUT OFF THE PUMP EARLY TO AVOID AN OVERFLOW. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I NEED A NEW GAS TANK AT $730. I AM NOW AT 17,000 MILES, WELL UNDER THE 3YR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT DUE TO THE DATE, THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. THIS IS UNSAFE AND RIDICULOUS. A VEHICLE WITH 8,000 MILES SHOULD NOT HAVE GAS SPILLING OUT OF THE TANK AT EVERY FILL. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL ON WRANGLERS FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT THE LIBERTY. *TR
09/5/2010 AFTER MY PURCHASE OF MY JEEP I TOOK IT TO BRANDON COURTESY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP , I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH MY JEEP SINCE THEN THEY DAMAGED MY JEEP AND REFUSED TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF ALL THEY HAD DONE. I KEEP TELLING MANAGEMENT OF THE ISSUES NO REAL RESPONSE DO TO MY SPINAL CORD INJURY NO OTHER CHOICE IN DEALERSHIP MANTINANCE. 08/2014 LAST YR I WAS ON I75 GOING ABOUT 70 WHEN MY SLIDER ROOF FLOW OPEN TAKING PARTS WITH IT.I PAID THEM OVER 100.$ PLUS THEY CHANGED MY INSURANCE OVER $2000. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK OVER TEN TIMES IT STILL LEAKING. AND STAINED FROM THE LEAKS. THEY NO LONGER REUNION MY CALLS. PLUS THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE SLIDDER ROOF AS CHARGED BUT REPAIRED.MY BATTERIES DON'T LAST. SINCE MY FIRST VISIT WITH BRANDON COURTESY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP DEALERSHIP I HAD TOLD THEM OF THE EXSSIVE WIND NOISE. THE LIST GOES ON I HAVE COPIES OF ALL SAID AND DID REPAIRS THAT DON'T MATCH THE REPRINTS I REQUESTED. PLEASE HELP
AT AROUND THE 74,000 MILE MARKER, MY GAS TANK BEGAN SPEWING OUT GASOLINE UPON FILLING UP AT THE GAS STATION. THE TANK HOLDS ROUGHLY 17.5 GALLONS, AND THE NOZZLE (UP TO THIS POINT) WOULD ALWAYS AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF UPON A FULL TANK WHEN AT THE PUMP. NOW, WHEN THE TANK IS NEARING FULL, THE FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE GAS TANK, LEAKING GASOLINE ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, ON MY HANDS, SHOES, CLOTHES AND GROUND. THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND AVOID THIS ISSUE IS TO ESTIMATE A CUT-OFF POINT IN WHICH TO STOP PUMPING FUEL AT AROUND THE 17.0 GALLON MARK, WHICH IS STILL VERY HARD TO DO WITHOUT THE SPILLAGE OCCURRING AND OFTEN LEAVES ME WITH A PARTIAL FILLUP TO AVOID GETTING SOAKED IN GASOLINE. AS OF 4 DAYS AGO, MY GASCAP AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. I'VE FULLY REFUELED 3 TIMES SINCE THEN AND TIGHTENED THE GAS CAP AND THE LIGHTS HAVE NOT DISAPPEARED. I OFTEN SUFFER HEADACHES FROM THE GASOLINE FUMES THAT I CARRY BACK INTO THE VEHICLE ON MY HANDS, CLOTHES AND FEET FROM THE GAS SPILLAGE THAT OCCURS WHEN I FILL UP. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON AMONGST JEEP OWNERS BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF FORUMS I'VE FOUND ONLINE.

CONCERNED ABOUT MOLD MILDEW IN VEHICLE FROM MOISTURE! HEAT SHIELD FAIL OFF 6 YRS AGO WHILE DRIVING DOWN 4LANE! MY 4WHEEL DRIVE HAS GONE OUT....I HAVE SEVERAL LITES ON MY DASH CHECK ENGINE ABS 4WHEEL DRIVE...TRACTION CONTROL....I CAN'T REM. THE OTHERS AND MY TIRE SENSOR WENT OUT RITE AFTER I BOUGHT IT THAT LET'S U KNOW U R AIR IS LOW! MY BIG CONCERN IS THE WATER....I'VE GOTTEN IN MY JEEP AFTER A STORM N THERE B 3IN OF WATER IN MY FLOOR BOARD! I'M CONCERNED MY CABIN IS GOIN TO COLLAPSE!AND THE BLACK MOLD WITH CAUSE ME HARM! I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER ONE! WHEN DRIVING THE WATER WILL SUDDENLY FALL FROM CABIN ON U AND DROWNED U SCARING U SHOCKING U.....THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED ME TO WRECK! CUZ U DON'T EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN! WHEN FILLING UP WITH GAS THE JEEP SPEWS GAS BACK OUT FORCEFULLY AND ABOUT 4 CUPS FLY OUT ALL OVER SOME TIMES THE NOZZLE CLICKS AND SOME TIMES IT DOES NOT. I HAVE HAD THIS JEEP FOR OVER ONE YEAR AND THIS STARTED HAPPENING FOR OVER A MONTH NOW. 2008 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID NO RECALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE GAS COMES OUT FAST AND SPRAYS. I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS AS IT IS A HAZARD AND NOT A MAINTENANCE ISSUE. *TR
EVERY TIME THE GAS TANK IS BEING FILLED THERE IS AN ERUPTION OF FUEL THAT COMES OUT OF THE GAS TANK FILL WHEN THE GAS PUMP HANDLE SHUTS OFF. EVEN WHEN MANUALLY HOLDING THE GAS PUMP HANDLE DISPENSING GAS AT A VERY SLOW RATE, THE GAS TANK FILL STILL POURS OUT GAS WHEN IT REACHES THE FULL POINT AND SHUTS OFF THE PUMP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BLINKED ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE BEGAN APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR AGO. IN ADDITION, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS BLINKED ON AND OFF WHEN SHE ACCELERATED IN ANY DIRECTION AND AT ANY SPEED. SHE WAS ALSO UNABLE TO LOCK THE VEHICLE ONCE SHE EXITED BECAUSE THE LOCKING MECHANISM WAS INOPERABLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT UNATTENDED AND UNLOCKED. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

2008 JEEP LIBERTY,ABOUT 37,000 MI STARTED PROBLEM OF GAS PUMPS NEVER SHUT OFF WHEN TANK NEARS FULL, HAS SPILLED ALL OVER MYSELF, OCCURS EVERY TIME ANY STATION, JUST WAITING FOR A CIGARETTE FROM SOMEBODY ELSE TO CATCH ME ON FIRE. *TR
DURING REGULAR REFILL THE CAR SPILLED FUEL, AROUND 250ML OF IT. IN LAST 2 MONTH IT IS A REGULAR OCCURRENCE AND POSES A SAFETY HAZARD FOR THE CAR OCCUPANTS ALONG WITH THE GAS STATION. *TR
WHEN FILLING GAS TANK WITH FUEL, FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE SPLASHING ON THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, THE PERSON PUMPING THE FUEL, AND ONTO THE GROUND. THERE IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT INTERNAL RELATING TO THE FILLER VALVE OR FUEL TANK. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE EVALUATED AS A SAFETY RECALL. *TR
VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND WOULD NOT STOP. I DID HARD BRAKING AND IT JUST PUSHED IT ANYWAY. PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND THE WHEELS DUG TRENCHES IN THE DIRT. GOT IT STOPPED, CALLED A WRECKER AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE JEEP DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THAT THE THROTTLE LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD AND THEY SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AND THAT THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING TO ANYONE ELSE. THEY RESET THE COMPUTER AND SENT ME HOME. I AM CONCERNED IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. IS THERE ANY EVIDENCE OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHERS ? *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GASTANK AS NORMAL, GASOLINE OVERFLOWS FROM THE GASTANK. IT SPEWS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT (APPROX 1/4 LITER OF GASOLINE). *TR
THE EMERGENCY BRAKES ON MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY DOES NOT HOLD. I COMPLAINED TO 2 JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY JEEP AND THEY COULD REPLACE THE WHOLE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM AT MY EXPENSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, HE ATTEMPTED TO USE THE WINDSHIELD WASHER BUT IT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 115,660.
I HAVE A WARNING DING THAT KEEPS RECURRING IN MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY LIMITED. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS AT COMPLETELY RANDOM TIMES, AND CAUSES THE DRIVER TO LOOK DOWN IN SEARCH OF WHAT THE WARNING IS IN REGARD TO, BUT THERE IS NOT A CORRESPONDING LIGHT. THE RANDOM WARNING DING HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS, ANYWHERE FROM AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 3 DAYS UP TO 3 TIMES IN ONE DAY. THERE ARE OTHER MINOR ISSUES HAPPENING WITH THE ELECTRICAL, AND THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR HAS BEEN AFFECTED AS WELL, BUT SEEMS TO BE OK RIGHT NOW. HOWEVER, I FEEL AS IF THIS ISSUE IS A WARNING SIGN FOR A BIGGER ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT HAS YET TO BE RESOLVED. I DO NOT WISH TO BE THE CASE FOR WHICH EVERYONE ELSE BASIS THEIR EXAMPLES ON. I CANNOT SEEM TO GET CHRYSLER/JEEP TO FEEL THE URGENCY TO LOOK INTO THIS DEFECT, HOWEVER BASED ON THE RANDOM BEHAVIOR AND NO SUCCESS IN FINDING THE CAUSE, IT SEEMS THAT THIS SHOULD BE ONE OF THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE IT'S BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW ON MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY FELL DOWN A FEW DAYS AGO. WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN TO GET FIXED, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND, BECAUSE OF THAT, THE PART HAD BEEN REDESIGNED AND I WOULD NOW NEED A NEW WINDOW AS WELL, TOTALING OVER $800. MY WARRANTY JUST ELAPSED LESS THAN 6,000 MILES AGO. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THIS WOULD LIKELY BE RECALLED EVENTUALLY BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP ME WHILE MY WINDOW IS BEING HELD UP WITH DUCT TAPE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE AN EXTRA $800 TO FIX IT AT THE MOMENT. *TR
WHEN I AM REFUELING MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY 1 OUT OF 4 TIMES THE FUEL DOES NOT STOP WHEN FILLED AND SPILLS OUT EVERYWHERE. GAS SPLASHES ON ME, THE GROUND AND MY CAR. THIS HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND PUMPS AND SEEMS VERY UNHEALTHY AND DANGEROUS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH; THE HORN SOUNDED, FRONT AND REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS ENGAGED, AND THE REAR WINDOW WASHER PUMP ACTIVATED DISPENSING WASHER FLUID. THE UNEXPECTED FAILURES OCCURRED VOLUNTARILY. WHEN THE SPEED RATE WAS REDUCED THE FAILURES NO LONGER PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TRAVELING AND FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED, FOLLOWED BY NO ENGINE POWER. SUDDENLY, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING LIGHT INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION THE FAILURES RESET INDEPENDENTLY. IN ADDITION, ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE FAILURES INVOLVING THE HORN, WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND WIPER WASHER FLUID ACTIVATION OCCURRED WHEN ACCESSING THE VEHICLE WITH THE REMOTE KEY ENTRY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000.
EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK THE NOZZLE DOES NOT TRIGGER TO RELEASE THE SHUT OFF ON THE GAS COMING BACK OUT OF THE INPUT WHICH RESULTS IN A LOT OF GAS OVERFLOWING BACK ONTO MY VEHICLE, THE GROUND AND MY CLOTHES. THIS HAPPENS EVEN IF I WATCH THE AMOUNT OF GALLONS BEING PUT INTO THE TANK AND TRY AND SHUT IT OFF AHEAD OF TIME. I HAVE DISCUSSED THIS WITH OTHER JEEP LIBERTY OWNERS AND HAVE GONE ON LINE AND HAVE SEEN THIS TO BE A COMPLAINT OF MANY. I ALSO CALLED JEEP AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THEM DIRECTLY. THEY SAY THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF THING HAPPENING. THIS CAN'T BE VERY SAFE HAVING A QUARTER OF A GALLON OF GAS SHOOTING OUT EVERY TIME YOU FILL UP THE TANK. PLEASE HELP. *TR
PURCHASED USED JEEP LIBERTY FOR MY DAUGHTER. 2008 MODEL WITH 25,000 MILES. HAD JEEP 1 YEAR AND 2ND WINDOW MOTOR JUST WENT OUT WHILE ON VACATION. STOPPED AT MECH. SHOP ON VACATION TO GET WINDOW UP UNTIL I COULD GET HOME AND HE SAID HIS SON HAD 3 GO OUT. TALKED TO 2 PEOPLE AT HOTEL WHO HAD THEIR WINDOW TAPPED UP FOR SAME THING. LOOKING ON INTERNET I AM AMAZED ON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS. HOW MANY HAVE TO BREAK BEFORE JEEP MAKES THIS GOOD? *TR
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK WITH GAS, AT THE FULL POINT THE TANK SHOOT BACK ABOUT A QUARTER GALLON OF GAS ONTO THE GROUND AND ON THE SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS IS WITHOUT TOPPING THE TANK OFF, AS IT HAPPENS AT THE POINT THAT THE GAS PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF. THERE IS AN EXTREME DANGER OF THIS WITH GASOLINE BEING ALL OVER.
MY BRAKE LIGHT IS NOT FUNCTIONING. I WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM REPLACE BULB, BUT THE DEALERSHIP CHECKED BULBS AND BULBS WERE GOOD. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOTIFIED ME THAT THERE IS A WIRING ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. IF MY BRAKE LIGHTS FAIL DURING THE DAY OR NIGHT THIS COULD BE A HUGE LIABILITY TO CHRYSLER. I HAVE TO GO BACK TO DEALER WHEN I HAVE MORE TIME. THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE TIME TO FIX IT TODAY. WHEN PUTTING FUEL IN THE TANK, IT WILL BURP OUT THE FILL LINE JUST AS THE PUMP IS CLICKING OFF. CANNOT FILL THE TANK WITHOUT THIS HAPPENING AND IT OCCURS EVERY TIME WE FUEL UP. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM SUCCESSFULLY MANEUVERING. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO STATED THAT THEY HAD SPOKEN WITH THE DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THEY OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,135.
EVERY TIME I FUEL UP, IF I LEAVE IT FILLING UP AUTOMATICALLY, GAS SPEWS OUT WHEN IT GETS TO FULL AND GOES EVERYWHERE. I WAS PARKING MY JEEP LIBERTY AT THE JEEP DEALER. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE ENGINE CHECKED BECAUSE OF A MALFUNCTION LIGHT THAT WOULD NOT GO OUT AFTER STARTING THE CAR. I HAD PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AND THEN BACKED UP TO STRAIGHTEN THE VEHICLE OUT IN THE SPACE. WHEN I STARTED TO PULL INTO THE PARKING SPACE AGAIN THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD STRIKING THE DEALERSHIP BUILDING DAMAGING THE CONCRETE BLOCK STRUCTURE, DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER LIGHTS, AND FRONT FENDERS. I JUST RETURNED FROM ALEXANDER CHRYSLER JEEP IN FRANKLIN, TN 615-794-5000. THEY TRIED TO BLAME A VACUUM HOSE FOR LETTING GASOLINE FUMES IN THE CABIN OF THE 2008 JEEP LIBERTY TO AVOID A WARRANTY FIX. THIS IS WHERE THE MY HEALTH AND SAFETY COMPLAINT COMES IN. MY WIFE HAS BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT BEING SICK WITH HEADACHES AND STOMACH PAIN FOR MONTHS. ORIGINALLY WE TOOK THE JEEP IN FOR "GAS CAP" WARNING ON THE ODOMETER AND ENGINE LIGHT. NOTHING WAS FOUND. TODAY I TOOK THE JEEP IN AN ALEXANDER FOUND A CLEARLY ABRADED OR DETERIORATED VACUUM HOSE THAT THEY SAID COULD ALLOW THE GAS FUMES INTO THE CABIN. MY WIFE HAS BEEN BREATHING THIS FOR MONTHS AND IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THIS EXPOSES OCCUPANTS TO TOXIC FUMES AND RISKS AN EXPLOSION HAZARD IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
