The contact attempted to close the sunroof; however, he could hear that the motor was making a whirring sound, but the sunroof failed to close. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the sunroof was not on track and that the parts to perform the repair were unavailable. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A SNAP SOUND AND NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF POPPED OFF THE TRACK. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT EXITED THE HIGHWAY IMMEDIATELY TO CHECK THE CRACK IN THE SUN ROOF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PALMEN MOTORS (5431 75TH ST, KENOSHA, WI 53142, (262) 671-1935) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE RESULTS WERE NOT DISCLOSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE PART WAS NO LONGER MANUFACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. DUE TO THE FAULTY PIECE, THE SKY SLIDER FAILED TO OPEN OR CLOSE. THE CLAMPS HAVE BROKEN ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW TRACT. THIS IS PREVENTING THE WINDOW TO RAISE OR LOWER. I HAVE TO EITHER RAISE OR LOWER THE WINDOW BY PLACING MY HANDS ON THE GLASS.I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IN MY 2010 JEEP LIBERTY. I WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED AFTER TRYING TO ROLL MY WINDOW DOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED A YEAR LATER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER AND WAS INIFORMED THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL BACK. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (REDLANDS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 500 W REDLANDS BLVD, REDLANDS, CA 92373) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-992-1997 AND WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER THE WARRANTY AND THE CONTACT HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE WIPERS START WORKING BY THEMSELVES WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT IS VERY SCARY AND I AM WORRIED WHAT ELSE WILL GO WRONG!!! :(

THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO THE POINT THAT THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY CLOSE THE SKY VIEW RETRACTABLE SUN ROOF WITH FORCE. TAPE WAS LATER APPLIED DUE TO AIR NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE INDEPENDENT SUPPLIER OF THE PART WAS NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *BF *TR
THE HOSES THAT WERE ATTACHED TO THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID ARE NO LONGER CONNECTED. THERE ARE NO CLAMPS HOLDING THE HOSES IN PLACE SO I AM ASSUMING JEEP USED SOME SORT OF ADHESIVE. THE ADHESIVE CAME UNDONE ON BOTH PIECES AND I CAN NO LONGER CLEAN MY WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING BECAUSE NOW I CAN NOT CLEAN MY WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NEW 3-WEEKS AGO AND NOTICED THAT THE DEFROSTERS WERE NOT CLEARING THE WINDSHIELD PROPERLY. ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS I ATTEMPTED TO CLEAR MY WINDSHIELD USING THE DEFROSTERS AND WAS LEFT WITH 8" ON EACH SIDE THAT WAS NOT CLEARED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS OBSTRUCTION TO VISIBILITY. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND LEFT THE VEHICLE OVERNIGHT, THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND REPORTED THAT IT WAS OPERATING AS PER DESIGN. I BELIEVE THIS REPRESENTS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND WILL LIKELY CAUSE ACCIDENTS. *TR

WINDSHIELD CRACKED OUT OF THE BLUE. LOOKS LIKE A STRESS FRACTURE BUT DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER CLAIM ITS ENVIRONMENTAL AND WON'T REPLACE WINDSHIELD. IT'S HAZARDOUS. ADDITIONALLY, THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS ALL RUSTED AND BLACK SOOT IN EXHAUST. *TR
