OUR JEEP RENEGADE'S 6.5AN INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM MAY HAVE CORRUPTED SOFTWARE OR A ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE (JUNE 2 ,2015) THE YELP FEATURE WILL NOT LOAD AND IS NOT AVAILABLE TO UTILIZE AS ADVERTISED. MY U-CONNECT ACCOUNT WAS LISTED AS PENDING INSTEAD OF TRIAL/ACTIVATED. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS AND CALLS TO U-CONNECT WITH MULTIPLE TROUBLE TICKETS AND OPENED STAR CASE THE RADIO WAS REPLACED ON 8/26/2015 BUT IT IS NOW WORSE THAN BEFORE,.APPS DO NOT WORK, GETTING SEVER ERROR AND SUBSCRIPTION ERRORS. I NOW HAVE ANOTHER OPEN TROUBLE TICKET AND U-CONNECT DOESNT SEEM TO HAVE AN ANSWER. I HAVE BEEN PUTTING UP WITH THIS FOR 3 MONTHS NOW AND 5-6 TRIPS TO THE DEALER, A REPLACEMENT RADIO AND A REQUESTED BUYBACK. I HAVE AN OPEN CUSTOMER CARE CASE. THIS WASNT THE ONLY ELECTRICAL PROBLEM HAD 4 ATTEMPTS TO REPLACE A BAD KEY FOB, FINALLY AFTER ORDERING 2 NEW KEY FOB , IS WAS FIXED.
BOUGHT RENEGADE SPORT FWD APRIL 28, 2015. 1. DOOR LOCKS/KEY-FOB STOPPED WORKING BY JUNE 1ST. TOOK TO DEALER, SAID CHRYSLER KNEW OF ISSUE, TRYING TO GET A "PERMANENT" FIX, BUT A TEMP FIX WAS TO RE-SET THE COMPUTER SYSTEM; THEY DID AND IT LASTED LESS THAN 2 HOURS. HAVE TO USE KEY TO UNLOCK DRIVER DOOR, THEN REACH AROUND AND UNLOCK/LOCK THE OTHER 3 DOORS BY HAND ONCE INSIDE THE CAR. "LUCKILY", THE KEY-FOB STILL LOCKS/UNLOCKS THE REAR LIFT GATE. 2. REAR WIPER BLADE TURNS ON RANDOMLY WHEN FRONT WIPERS ARE ON. ONLY WAY TO STOP THE REAR WIPER IS TO TURN OFF THE FRONT WIPERS, WAIT A FEW SECONDS, THEN TURN THEM BACK ON. 3. CAR SAT FOR 3 DAYS (JULY 15-17), AND BATTERY COMPLETELY DRAINED/DEAD. KEY STUCK IN IGNITION. CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE, THEY TRIED TO JUMP IT WITH A JUMP-BOX, JEEP WOULDN'T TURN OVER, SO HAD TO JUMP WITH THE TOW TRUCK'S BATTERY CONNECTED TO JUMPER CABLES AND AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, THE ELECTRICAL GADGETS STARTED TO WORK, AND SEVERAL MINUTES LATER ON THE CHARGE, IT FINALLY TURNED OVER. 4. CAR TRANSMISSION "JERKING" WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY (APPROX. 5 MPH). THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.
Jeep Renegade 2015 . THE CAP LESS FUELSYSTEM. Can't physically put gas nozzle into the tank. I even tried the plastic funnel that comes with the jeep and that won't go in either. There are 3 plastic tabs that must be pushed in by the nozzle before the metal flap will release and allow the pump in. Two smaller ones in the upper left/right and one large one on the bottom. Sometimes these can get gummed(or in my case were kinda defective straight from the factory). In 2019 Renegade redesign the gas tank differently so I'm guessing they know about this issue. There are forum on top of forums about this problem. We really need a recall on this. Eventually, I have to exchange my cap less fuel system since I am dreading every trip to a gas station. I can't drive my car if I can't put gas in it.

MY UCONNECT ACCOUNT LISTED IN MY RADIO SYSTEM SHOWS "PENDING" INSTEAD OF TRIAL OR ACTIVATED. I AM ALSO MISSING SOFT KEY APPLICATIONS SUCH AS WI-FI AND SOMETIMES UCONNECT STORE. I HAVE CONTACTED UCONNECT ACCESS, JEEP, AND MY DEALERSHIP COUNTLESS TIMES OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS OF OWNERSHIP WITH NO REMEDY. I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO PERFORM SOFT AND FACTORY RESETS TIME AND TIME AGAIN WITH NO CHANGE. UCONNECT REPS HAVE RE-SENT DATA AND JAR. FILES WITH NO LUCK AND NO CHANGE TO MY RADIO SYSTEM. DEALERSHIP DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AND SUBMITTED A WORK TIOCKET TO STAR REPS FOR ASSISTANCE. THEY HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT WHAT TO DO AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD CONTACT MANUFACTURERS OF THE RADIO SYSTEM FOR HELP. 2 WEEKS LATER AND NO WORD FROM DEALERSHIP OR STAR REPS. I WISH THEY WOULD TRY TO RELOAD SYSTEM SOFTWARE OR REPLACE MY 6.5AN SYSTEM WITH NEW ONE.
HESITATION SHIFTING BETWEEN MULTIPLE GEARS. LUNGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING AT A COMPLETE STOP. MADE MANUFACTURER AWARE OF ISSUE.
MY 6 WEEK OLD JEEP RENEGADE WON'T START. I INSERTED MY KEY INTO THE IGNITION, I TURNED AND BRIEFLY THE ELECTRICITY WENT ON BUT THE ENGINE DIDN'T TURN. THEN I WENT TO TRY AGAIN AND EVERYTHING LOCKED UP. THE KEY WAS STUCK, THE GEAR SHIFT WAS LOCKED AND WOULDN'T MOVE, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON. FINALLY GOT THE KEY OUT BUT WHEN YOU PUT IT BACK IN, YOU CANNOT TURN THE KEY. NOTHING WORKS, IT IS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE LOCK CYLINDER MAY BE BROKEN. VERY PISSED OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER AND LACK OF ACCELERATION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS COLD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 29,936.
MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH JUST BOUGHT 2015 JEEPS WITH THEIR 9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THESE CARS ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THESE VEHICLES IN SNOW. THE VEHICLE WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN ACCELERATE EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE BRAKING TO COME TO A STOP OR ARE SLOWLY IDLING FORWARD. IT IS VERY SCARY AND PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT. IT IS ALL RELATED TO THE 9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. JEEP KNOWS IT IS AN ISSUE (HAVING RECALLED VEHICLES TO DO NUMEROUS FLASHES), BUT IT IS NOT RESOLVING THE PROBLEM. I DON'T WANT SOMEONE TO DIE AS THEY DID WITH TOYOTA BEFORE THE GOVERNMENT FINALLY STEPS IN. PLEASE TAKE THIS UP WITH JEEP AND FORCE THEM TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. *TR
While I was driving, my sunshade visor fell down as if it were moved to block the sun while I was driving (I did not do it). I immediately pushed it back up because I could not see, it blocked my entire front windshield vision. After pushing it up, it fell back down within minutes. I immediately took it out of the holder and put it to the side. After researching the issue it is a common known issue. Service advisors say "they all do that". My question is, why would such a dangerous issue be widely accepted? Is increased chance of accident and death acceptable when it can be fixed? I have stopped 23 separate people and asked them about their sunvisor and EVERY SINGLE ONE had this same issue (ranging from 2015 to 2020).
JEEP RENEGADE PURCHASED NEW 2015, STRONG ALCOHOL ODOR AFTER USING WINDSHIELD WASHERS. TOOK TO DEALER THEY ALSO SMELLED ALCOHOL AFTER USING WASHERS. THEY STATE THAT IT IS A PROBLEM THAT RENEGADES HAVE AND DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR IT. IT CAN BE VERY STRONG AND IWINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID CAN BE HARMFUL TO RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
