NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2015 Jeep Renegade. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
Vehicle was parked for a couple of hours on neighborhood street. Owner entered vehicle, shut driver door and then back windshield spontaneously shattered.
The drivers side fog light reflector was melted and charred like it was nearly on fire. There was no silver coating on the plastic reflector and it looks like the plastic was absorbing all the heat of the bulb.
While driving highway speed (55mph) I received a “transmission check” notification followed by “check engine” light engaging. Nothing felt different at this time. A few minutes later, I came to a full stop at a light. Upon turning green, I pressed the gas pedal to drive and the car revved, but would not move forward, as if stuck in neutral for about 10 seconds. If finally lurched forward and began to drive normally.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that the parking light was illuminated. The contact stated that the radio randomly turned on and off. The service powertrain and 4WD messages were displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed her that the failure was due to a software module update. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. The VIN was not available.
At 58k miles my check engine light came on and it was determined that it was throwing the code 0456 for a small EVAP leak. I took my Renegade to the dealership for a smoke test and had told them there is sometimes a strong fuel smell when driving. The first smoke test they claimed they couldn't find a leak but noticed a strong fuel smell coming from the rear of the vehicle. They performed one more smoke test and still couldn't find leak. Scheduled another appointment, software update was performed and code was cleared. 2 days later check engine light came back on and when fueling vehicle found gas leaking from the rear wheel well. Took Renegade back to dealership, where it was determined the leak was coming from the fuel filler neck. Paid $500 to have new fuel filler neck installed code was cleared only to come back on the next morning. It was determined it was throwing the same code 0456 for a small EVAP leak. Was advised I would have to have another smoke test done. Idle is really rough when sitting still. It is no longer leaking fuel, but still runs like garbage. Haven't been able to have a forth smoke test done yet because I can't afford it. I have already forked out almost 1k since this started almost 2 months ago. Was advised I should reach out to Chrysler as I have had the vehicle since new and have kept up with all maintenance. Warranty had been expired 4 months prior to this issue.
The vehicle engine has been shaking moderately since we purchased it. The dealer told us that is just the way the vehicle sounds and feels. Recently it has begun to shake more while stopped in traffic or at a light. The dealer told us the engine mount was broken. The vehicle has only 33,354 miles. This is a safety issue as the engine could become dislodged and cause an accident as well as the fluids would be a hazardous materials exposure endangering potential wildlife. Jeep originally told me it was covered under warranty and then later changed their mind. Either way it is a defective part of the power train and dangerous.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 MPH and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with a software failure. The vehicle was not repaired; however, two rotors, wheel bearings, and motor mounts were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
excess moisture causing condensation freezing in the muffler assembly and not allowing engine to start. Was stranded for 2 days. Had Jeep towed to dealership after a few hours dealership was able to contact a certified jeep dealer and diagnose the problem. No warning lights on the dash came on at all not even the check engine light. In doing research and talking with dealership this is a very well known issue as well as there are service bulletins on this issue. as well as speaking with lots of people online they have had this issue as well. why is there no campagin or recall on this issue.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH after having a power train software update performed, the vehicle lost motive power and decelerated without warning. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway. The contact restarted the vehicle several times while attempting to shift the vehicle into gear before the vehicle started operating as needed. The contact stated that the "Check Engine and Check Transmission" warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was then driven to the residence. The dealer sent out a representative to pick up the vehicle to be diagnosed. The vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact informed the dealer that the vehicle failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V529000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The dealer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,699.
The Evaporative Emissions System (EVAP system), including components such as the charcoal canister, purge valve, and/or fuel tank venting system, appears to be malfunctioning. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. After refueling the vehicle completely, it will stall or shut off unexpectedly while driving, which could cause a collision, particularly in traffic or at highway speeds. This sudden loss of power places myself, my passengers, and other drivers at significant risk. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent mechanic, but not by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. No warning lights, error messages, or advance symptoms were present prior to the vehicle stalling. The issue first occurred around 2022.
In freezing weather the front doors of my vehicle will not always open and when they do the latch will not allow them to close. The mechanism is working but the door latch will not latch. I have video but can’t upload it.
It mostly happens in the morning. While I’m driving to work which is less than 5 minutes away from where I live. The car would just shut down while I’m driving, lights would flicker and the car will stop. I would have to wait a few minutes or more to restart the vehicle and the drives normal. I bought the car from Carmax in May or June 2021. They told me there were no recalls. I look up the problem I’m having and found a previous recall about the same issue, on the same year, make and model. Need help
Outside Temperature Sensor fail in temperature under 31 degrees which causes check engine light to come on and disables four wheel drive to engage while driving in snowy conditions. Took Jeep to dealership repair cost $600 for a vehicle I’ve only owned for 25 days with 51,000 miles, they informed me that later down the road I will have to repeat this process again because this is a very common expensive problem in Jeep forum.
I recently had the exact problem that was reported under NHTSA ID 11309398. I wanted to report this since if it is happening to me and others, perhaps Jeep will consider a recall to fix this issue. I had to pay over $700 for parts and labor (my warranty expired 2 months before this happened!). It's a pretty annoying manufacturing/quality issue. I've never in 50 years of driving had this happen on any car. Issue described below. The cap leess fuel filler broke. I was filling up the fuel tank and when I went to remove the fuel nozzle from the tank, the cap less filler neck came out with the nozzle. Basically fell out. And there was no obvious way to repair it. I had to replace the entire mechanism since I don't want fuel sloshing out of my tank.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact indicated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who indicated that the vehicle shut off due to low engine oil. An oil consumption test was performed, and no failure was found. The contact indicated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who determined that the engine consumed an excessive amount of engine oil, causing the vehicle to shut off. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
The 2015 Jeep Renegade has had a vibrating sensation since I purchased it used in 2021 from an auto dealership. The vibrations got stronger as time went on. The issue was finally determined what caused the vibrations in May, 2025 and confirmed by an independent mechanic. The vehicle was inspected by a Jeep dealer previously. The vehicle was not inspected by the police or insurance representatives. The auto needed a new Engine Motor Mount. A new one was installed on the front right side, engine mount. The auto is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk because a failed mount leads to excessive engine movement, which can damage other components, affect handling, and lead to accidents.
I had the factory clutch replaced on my vehicle with genuine dealer parts. After 3,000 miles the clutch failed while I was driving. That clutch was replaced with a new clutch under warranty and it also failed while I was driving after less than 300 miles. Both times the clutch failed without warning. When the clutch fails, the vehicle will not start and cannot go into gear. The first time I was turning onto a extremely busy highway and could not get my vehicle out of traffic. I am concerned that there is a design flaw in the replacement clutch parts that puts the safety of vehicle owners at risk.
Vehicle overheating due to non functioning radiator fan. There was a recall on same model, but none listed for my specific vin. unknown as to when symptoms first appeared. vehicle overheats more when car is stopped/in idle.
While I was in the vehicle putting a 5 month old child in the car seat I had the door open. My wife was putting stuff in the passenger side door. Not thinking she got the remote start to cool the car off. Obviously the car wouldn’t start because the doors open. She tossed the keys in the center console like she normally does and shut the passenger door. I shut the drivers side rear door after placing the child in the car seat. All doors are locked and the keys are in the car. Unable to gain entry since we are not at home. 911 was called and police and fire showed up promptly and gain entry. The child is fine but we feel this should be addressed. I have been able to recreate the situation multiple times.
My car turns off at random times while driving. This has happened while going down the highway at high speeds and while turning left into a business and everything in between. I am usually able to start the car after waiting five minutes or so and it may or may not turn off again before I reach my destination. I have taken it to the dealership 3 times for this issue with no resolve. The first time I took my car to the dealership was July 14th, 2021 and they determined it was the battery, that did not solve the issue. On December 29, 2022 I took the vehicle to the dealership and on January 09, 2023 I picked it up. They told me my battery cable was loose, that was not the issue. On January 24 I took it back and on February 7, 2023 I picked it up. The dealership replaced the wiring harness, but the issue still remains. Driving down the road at any speed and having the car shut off is a safety risk to everyone around. When my daughter was turning left into a business she was terrified and blocking traffic going both directions and had to be pushed out of the road. While driving down the road I constantly am looking for a plan of action, a place that I can coast off the road if my car dies. The dealership has not been able to recreate this problem. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealership. 60% of the time all of the warning lamps are on, and the other part of the time just the check engine light and battery lamp are on, but this is not an indication of if the car will safely get me to my destination without turning off. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not. I am not the only one who has suffered this issue. Numerous similar incidents can be found from other people on various websites.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while her mother was driving 35 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly shifted to neutral(N) without warning. The contact’s mother was able to shift back into drive(D). The vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing the failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V529000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
While putting my car in park to exit my vehicle, my emergency parking break activated and would not shut off. I tried resetting the car multiple times. Nothing released the emergency parking break. The car needed to be towed to the dealership where they informed me a "glitch" had happened in the parking system...
6/24/21 I backed out of my carport & my car jerked me very hard like something shifted. All error codes & lights came on, air bag (which did not deploy) E Brake light was on, check engine & tire pressure the PRND light up simultaneously & flashed. I turned it off & back on, seemed fine I put in drive & drove in my circle driveway & suddenly it stopped accelerating even with me giving it gas then it took off & the E Brake came on. Thank GOD I was In My driveway & not pulling into traffic when this occurred. My husband tried again when he got home & it did the same to him would go then just stop accelerating mid drive & E brake come along with ALL the flashing error codes & I mean every code it can throw it did. It was like it was going in & out of limp mode & the E brake would come on when it wanted to mid drive. It has been in service since 6/26/2021 when it was taken by tow to the dealer, as it was unsafe to try to drive. I do have an extended mopar warranty & im told they have contacted Jeep engineering team but have NO answers. It’s been in their possession close to 40 days now. I will not feel safe at all IF they fix this car due to that incident. I would either be dead or badly injured.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving and accelerating onto the highway at 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and decelerated to approximately 40 MPH. The contact stated that the cabin of the vehicle smelled of gasoline. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not towed, the contact drove the vehicle to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed, but no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
Shifter won't work (won't move out of park) after battery dies. My vehicle's battery died at the end of April, we assumed it was just an old battery and had it replaced by AAA. Last week, the battery died again (this also co-occurred with the key fobs not working...if that's helpful). After AAA charged it, we turned it on but it wouldn't shift out of park. We followed the manual instructions to manually shift it into Neutral but then we couldn't turn the vehicle off. Eventually it was towed to the dealership while it was still running...and they said that it needs a new shifter (+$1300)?! The vehicle was purchased new and this series of events (battery dying / shifter dying) seems to be a recurring event....in some cases owners have had it happen in really inopportune and even dangerous places. https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/transmission-wont-shift-into-gear.98673/ https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/stuck-in-park.103031/ https://www.reddit.com/r/JeepRenegade/comments/gkt6ov/will_not_shift_from_park/ https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/service-engine-and-service-transmission.73290/ https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/battery-died-and-it-all-went-bad.46762/ https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/replaced-battery-now-having-issues.98907/ https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/battery-died-transmission-won%E2%80%99t-go-into-gear.101187/ My concern is that as the 2015 (the first year) Renegades get older, many more vehicle's will need batteries replaced and this will happen to all affected vehicles. Thank you for your time.
MY CAR WILL NOT STAY IN DRIVE. I WAS LEAVING A PARKING SPACE IN A PARKING LOT AND WHEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE IT MOVED FORWARD AND THEN SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN. I SHIFTED BACK TO DRIVE AND IT WENT BACK TO NEUTRAL. IF I HAD BEEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, SOMEONE COULD HAVE EASILY CRASHED INTO ME BECAUSE WHEN IT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL MY CAR NO LONGER HAD ANY POWER AND IT CAUSES AN UNEXPECTED SLOW DOWN.. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A MECHANIC'S SHOP WAITING TO BE REPAIRED. IN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM WITH MY CAR, I HAVE FOUND OTHER JEEP RENEGADES AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SAFETY CONCERNS. IF MY CAR IS DOING THE SAME THING, WHY IS IT NOT A SAFETY CONCERN? MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE MECHANIC SHOP IT WAS TOWED TO, WAITING TO BE REPAIRED. AT THIS TIME, I HAVE NO PAPERWORK ON REPAIRS.
I PARKED MY CAR IN THE GARAGE ON A MONDAY GOT READY TO GO THE VERY NEXT DAY CAR STARTED BUT WOULDN'T GO IN GEAR AND THE DASH BOARD WAS SAYING SERVICE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION THERE WAS NO WARNING ANY TIME BEFORE
The transmission bucks when it shifts most of the time when the transmission gets warmed up. it is worrysome and I am worried for my safety.
SINCE I BOUGHT THE JEEP, IT WOULD SOMETIMES SHIFT REALLY HARD FROM 1ST GEAR & THAT WAS AT 47K MILES. NOW I AM AT 55K & IT IS DOING IT FROM 1ST, 2ND, & SOMETIMES 3RD. OF COURSE, JEEP HAS MADE IT SO THAT I CANNOT EVEN CHECK MY TRANSMISSION FLUID, MUCH LESS ADD ANY BECAUSE THEY MADE IT A CLOSED UNIT. I'M SHOCKED THAT WITH ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN ABOUT THE "JERKY" "HARD SHIFTING" "SLIPPING" THAT A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN DONE ON THIS, CLEARLY, FLAWED TRANSMISSION SYSTEM.
MY CAR'S RADIATOR FAN STARTED RATTLING AND AFTER LOOKING FURTHER INTO THE ISSUE, I FOUND ENDLESS SOURCES OF OWNERS OF THE SAME CAR AS ME THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. IF NOT DILIGENTLY ACKNOWLEDGED AND FIXED, THE RADIATOR FAN MOTOR WILL EVENTUALLY GO OUT. THIS HAS CAUSED SMOKING AND FLAMES AND CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE. THE SOUND HAPPENS WHEN MY CAR IS IDLING AND STOPPED IN FIRST GEAR. TO AVOID THESE COSTLY AND DANGEROUS EFFECTS OF WHEN THE RADIATOR FAN MOTOR DOES FAIL, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT CASE 2:19-CV-10417-NGE-EAS HAS BEEN FILED, BUT NO FURTHER UPDATES HAVE BEEN RELEASED.
INFAMOUS 9-SPEED TRANSMISSION HAS NOT WORKED CORRECTLY SINCE THE 1ST DAY I BOUGHT IT NEW! TOOK IT IN TO JEEP SERVICE 9 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE! JEEP SERVICE MANAGER SAYS, "IT'S WORKING AS IT SHOULD." OH, IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK SCREWED UP?! HARD SHIFTING, LURCHING, POWER LOSS, INCONSISTENT SHIFTING PATTERNS, ETC. PROBLEMS EXIST UPON TAKE-OFF, SPEEDING UP, SLOWING DOWN & COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT IS NOT RIGHT!
WHEN I AM DRIVING ON THE ROAD THE VEHICLE TURNS OFF AND DOES NOT TURN ON AND SEND AN ELECTRIC POWER STERING ALERT THIS HAPPENS SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED AT A JEEP CERTIFIED DEALER IN FLORIDA AND I HAVE DRIVEN IT SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY TELL ME THAT IT HAS NO PROBLEMS
I WILL START THIS OFF BY SAYING I'VE HAD A FEW PROBLEMS WITH MY 2015 JEEP RENEGADE INCLUDING A/C PROBLEMS, POWER OUTLETS(BACK SEAT 110V OUTLET, CARGO OUTLETS & BUILT IN FLASHLIGHT) SHUTTING OFF AFTER ONLY A FEW MINUTES OF USAGE. THE BLIND SPOT ASSISTANCE WILL RANDOMLY POP UP WHEN DRIVING SAYING 'BLIND SPOT ASSIST IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE' THE BIGGEST ONE BEING WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW WHICH IS WHAT I'LL EXPLAIN BELOW BUT TO INFORM YOU MORE I'LL INCLUDE THAT IT HAD 96K WHEN I GOT THE TRUCK AND HAD ALWAYS KIND OF HAD A JERKY FEEL WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS WHICH I READ WAS KIND OF NORMAL, SO I DIDN'T PUT MUCH THOUGHT INTO IT UNTIL NOW. MY TRUCK WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR 2 DAYS WITHOUT BEING MOVED AND WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. I HADN'T LEFT ANYTHING ON, LIGHTS, RADIO, ECT. IT HAD HAPPENED A FEW TIMES BEFORE BUT I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT TILL NOW. SO AFTER I CHARGE THE BATTERY LONG ENOUGH TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED IT FINALLY FIRES UP BUT ALL THESE MESSAGES COME ACROSS THE SCREEN: CHECK ENGINE, SERVICE TRANSMISSION, BLIND SPOT TEMPORARILY OUT OF SERVICE, PASSAGEWAY ENTRY UNAVAILABLE, ALONG WITH A FEW MORE. I GIVE IT A MINUTE HAVING THE TRUCK RUNNING TO RESET THESE THINGS THEIR SELVES AND MOST DO EXCEPT A FEW. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON ALONG WITH THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WHICH IS THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING THAT HAS THE TRUCK STUCK IN GEAR; IT WON'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I TRIED DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY TERMINALS FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES SEEING IF THE SOFTWARE WILL RESET THAT WAY BUT IT DIDN'T HELP STILL HAS THE MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN. I EVENTUALLY HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THEY'VE HAD IT 4 DAYS NOW AND I'M STILL NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSIS IS BUT AM DREADING THIS MAJOR ISSUE.
MY VEHICLE'S PASSENGER TIRE WAS IMPROPERLY MOUNTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. IT HAS LED TO THE ENGINE MOUNTS BECOMING WORN, CAUSING THE CAMSHAFT TO BE WORN AT ONLY 71,213 MILES, AND THE DRIVE SHAFT BECOMING BROKEN. THIS HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY A REPAIR SHOP AND A JEEP DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER SAYS THAT THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE AND ATTRIBUTE IT TO THE TIRE BEING IMPROPERLY MOUNTED BY THE FACTORY. THIS IS ALSO A KNOWN ISSUE DOCUMENTED IN VIDEOS AND ONLINE FORUMS. THIS IS A MATTER OF SAFETY AND COULD CAUSE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED BUT HAVE NOT YET ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS WARRANTS A RECALL, WHICH IT SHOULD.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS, A TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT FOLLOWED BY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED ON THE DASH. I FIGURED IT WAS A MAINTENANCE WARNING. THE FURTHER I DROVE, IT BECAME APPARENT THAT I WAS LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. IN THE MOUNTAIN RANGE THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE AND IT WAS DARK AS WELL AS FEARFUL DRIVERS WOULD COME UP BEHIND ME ON A CURVE WITHOUT MY ABILITY TO GO HWY SPEEDS, LEAVING ME TO FEEL VERY UNSAFE. THE FURTHER I DROVE, THE LESS ABILITY I HAD TO ACCELERATE. BY THE TIME I REACHED THE FREEWAY, MY ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WAS VERY COMPROMISED. WHEN I REACHED THE FREEWAY, IT WAS CONGESTED, PLAYING IN MY FAVOR SINCE I COULD NOT ACCELERATE WELL. WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP, THE ENGINE WAS GETTING UP TO 2000+ RPMS TO GO 15 MPH. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY THE JEEP EXTENDED, BUT SINCE THIS INVOLVES 'THE BRAIN OF THE TRANSMISSION' IT IS NOT A COVERED REPAIR.
MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY 3 TIMES AND THE TRANSMISSION IS VERY JERKY. THE DEALER DID AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND SAID IT IS NORMAL FOR MY CAR TO CONSUME 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 3000-4000 MILES. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT USES THIS MUCH OIL. THE OIL WARNING LIGHT HAS NEVER COME ON INDICATING G THE OIL IS LOW.
TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP AND FAILED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS BOTH ON HIGHWAY AND STREETS WITHIN FIRST YEAR OF CAR PURCHASE FROM DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND WITHIN FIVE YEARS, THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AGAIN WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS BOTH ON HIGHWAY AND STREETS.
THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 14K MILES ON IT. WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE O2 SENSOR. LESS THAN A MONTH LATER, THE WIRING HARNESS HAS MELTED. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS HAS BEEN UPDATED INDICATING THERE WAS A DEFECT THAT WAS CORRECTED. HOWEVER NO RECALL WAS ISSUED. WHY NOT IF THE PART WAS UPDATED TO FIX A DEFECT?
THIS VEHICLE HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY 3 TIMES NOW. IT ALSO CONSUMES MORE OIL IN A MONTH THAN MOST CARS CONSUME IN 20 YEARS. IT IS AN UNSAFE CAR THAT IF NOT FIXED WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE, INJURY OR DEATH. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED ASAP.
I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS TURNED GREEN I PRESSED MY GAS PETAL BUT THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN & WOULDN'T MOVE, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP & SO DID MY BRAKE, AIRBAG & PARK LIGHT. I WAS STUCK IN PARK FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES, AFTER WAITING MY CAR STARTED BACK TO NORMAL, BUT THIS PROBLEM CONTINUES.
THE THROTTLE BODY STOP WORKING. THE VEHICLE DOESN'T ACCELERATE AT ALL AND DOES NOT START. IT HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING ON THE STREET IT JUST TURN OFF
JEEP HAS STARTED TO SLIP INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. THIS STARTED SEVERAL DAYS AGO. TODAY I WAS PULLING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND IT SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL. IT TOOK A MINIMUM OF 30 SECONDS TO CORRECT ITSELF. NOTHING I DO SEEMS TO HELP. IF THERE HAD BEEN OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD, WELL I HATE TO THINK OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. I WILL HAVE HAD THIS JEEP 5 YEARS ON JANUARY 2, 2021. I HAVE ENJOYED THE JEEP UP UNTIL THE LAST WEEK,
THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER VISORS HAVE BOTH LOST THE ABILITY TO STAY FLUSH WITH THE CEILING OF THE VEHICLE. WITH THE MATERIAL OF THE CLOTH ON THE CEILING I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANY TAPE TO SAFELY SECURE THE VISOR. THE VISUAL AREA THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE VEHICLE IS GREATLY IMPAIRED. I WAS QUOTE A $400-$500 REPAIR FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX ONE. WHEN IT ORIGINALLY HAPPENED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE UPLOADED PHOTOS OF THE DRIVERS SIDE HOW IT SITS NOW, PUSHED FORWARD, AND IT HELD FLUSH WITH HOW IT SHOULD STAY. I WAS DRIVING WHEN T ADJUSTED THE VISOR AND IT LOST TENSION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED. SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL WHINING SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN) WHICH SHE LINKED TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000.
HORN DOES NOT WORK. THERE IS A BELL LIKE ON A TRICYCLE STRAPPED TO THE STEERING COLUMN. YOU CAN NOT HEAR IT FROM THE OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE.SOMEONE HAS STRAIGHT WIRED IT
COOLING CIRCUIT FAN STOPPED WORKING AT 51K MILES. ENGINE LIGHT SAID SERVICE ENGINE WITH DASH ENGINE LIGHT NOTIFICATION. CODE P0481 COMES UP
UPON CRANKING UP THE VEHICLE, THE DASHBOARD PRESENTED A 'SERVICE TRANSMISSION' ERROR AND THE GEAR WHAT STUCK IN PARK AND WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY DURING THIS TIME AND IN MY DRIVEWAY.
WHILE DRIVING A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE THE CAR SHUTS OFF AS YOU ARE DRIVING. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING WHILE STOPPED IT HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET/ROAD. IT HAS HAPPENED WITH OUR VEHICLE AT LEAST 3 TIMES, ONCE IN AN INTERSECTION WHILE TURNING AND TWICE AS WE WERE DRIVING. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO PUSH THE VEHICLE OUT OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT BEING HIT OR INJURED. ONE TIME VEHICLE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED, EVENTUALLY THE CAR WAS JUMPED SUCCESSFULLY, AND DRIVEN TO REPAIR SHOP, WHERE NOTHING COULD BE FOUND WRONG. ABOUT 4 MONTHS LATER THE CAR SHUT OFF IN AN INTERSECTION. ABOUT 8 HOURS LATER WE JUMPED THE CAR AND DROVE IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP, WHERE AGAIN NOTHING CAN BE DETECTED. MANY OTHER JEEP RENEGADE OWNERS REPORT THE SAME THING HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN TAKEN IN FOR REPAIRS NO THING CAN BE FOUND. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS TO OUR CAR WE HAVE HAD AN INFANT IN THE CAR.. WE ARE GRATEFUL WE WERE NOT ON THE EXPRESSWAY LIKE SOME OTHER RENEGADE DRIVERS REPORT. WITHOUT FINDING OUT AND FIXING WHAT IS TRULY WRONG THESE INTERMITTENT SHUTOFFS WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN.
I AM REPLACING MY COOLANT FAN FOR THE THIRD TIME! I AM REPLACING MY DAY RUNNING LIGHT FOR THE SEVENTH TIME. THE COOLANT FAN STOP RUNNING AGAIN. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. THE LIGHT HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES .
THE CAR STALLED AND TURNED OFF WHILE PULLING OUT ON A BUSY ROAD. THIS HAPPENED TWICE OVER THE PAST 12 MOS. THERE IS ALSO A NOTABLE 'KICK' IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHILE LOWERING SPEED.
