The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that on multiple occasions the vehicle stalled due to a low oil level. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle was consuming oil at an abnormal rate. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where an oil consumption test was performed; however, no faults were found with the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
THE 2015 JEEP RENEGADE HAS TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED DUE THE LURKING ISSUES. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT AN COMPLETE STOP AND YOU HIT THE GAS TO GO THROUGH AN INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE LURKS AND HESITATES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION WILL ENGAGE. THIS ISSUES HAD CREATED OTHER DRIVES SLAMMING ON THEIR BREAKS TO AVOID HITTING MY JEEP . THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN OCCURRING EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED 03/19.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 3PM WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON THE AIR AND THE TEMPERATURE NEVER ADJUSTED. MY COOLANT INDICATOR TURNED FULLY RED. MY CAR STARTED SMOKING AND I PULLED OVER AND POPPED THE HOOD TO SEE MY ANTIFREEZE BOILING OUT OF THE RESERVOIR. I KEPT THE HOOD UP AND WAITED FOR IT TO COOL DOWN. THE NEXT MORNING, I DROVE TO MY SITTER'S WHERE I COMPLETED MY TRIP AND THE CAR STARTED SMOKING AGAIN. NOW IT'S AT THE SHOP.
CAR WILL NOT START. BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. UNRELIABLE. ELECTRICITY GOES ON AND OFF RANDOMLY, SUN ROOF WONT OPEN, LOCK BUTTON STICK, POWER SEAT NOT WORKING. *TR
BEARINGS ON FRONT RIGHT AND LEFT TIRES WORE DOWN EXTREMELY QUICKLY WITH NORMAL DRIVING (NO OFF ROAD DRIVING). BOTH HAD TO BE REPLACED ON 4TH YEAR OF OWNING VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT FOR OVER 2 YRS. THEY CHARGE ME FOR THINGS THAT THEY SAY ITS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I PAY BUT CAR CONTINUES THE SAME AS I BROUGHT IT IN. I HAD TO CALL "CORPORATE" SO THEY CAN GET INVOLVED AND HELP ME, THEY DID AND IN A WAY I WAS PUNISHED BY KEEPING THE CAR FOR A MONTH AND WHEN I ASKED TO GET IT BACK THEY KEPT TELLING ME THEY ARE WAITING ON PARTS.AT ONE POINT MY GRANDDAUGHTER GOT SICK (LIVES WITH ME) AND I CALLED THEM I NEED MY CAR SOON MY KID IS SICK AND I WAS TOLD "GET AN UBER". FINALLY AFTER A MONTH I GET MY CAR AND NOW IS WORSE THAN EVER. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AND CAR SMELLED LIKE SMOKE, ALL THE LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD STARTED GOING CRAZY, THE AIR CONDITIONER WENT DEAD AND VEHICLE STOPPED. I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING AND NOW IM WITHOUT A CAR AGAIN. I NEED HELP PLEASE. I LOST MY JOB AND NOW I HAD TO SELL MY HOME DUE TO THIS PANDEMIC. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO EMPIRE LAKEWOOD NISSAN (14707 W COLFAX AVE, LAKEWOOD, CO 80401, (303) 232-8881) WHERE THE DEALER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO CHRISTOPHER'S DODGE RAM (16655 W COLFAX AVE, GOLDEN, CO 80401, (303) 238-7311) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BE DIAGNOSED 6 TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE THERMOSTAT, FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SWITCH, AND MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,976.*DT On 2/22 vehicle had faulty transmission. It was the 7th time vehicle had stalling issues.
THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM A JEEP DEALER. AFTER A FEW MONTHS IT DROVE JUST FINE UNTIL WE NOTICED AN ODD BEHAVIOR THAT BEGAN TO GET FREQUENT AS MORE MILES ADDED ON. WE HAD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE SAME DEALER VERIFY ISSUES RELATED TO POWERTRAIN PERFORMANCE: ROUGHT & HARSH SHIFTING, SHUTTERING WHEN IN 3-4 OR 4-5 GEAR, SLOW OR HEAVY SLUGGISH ACCELERATION FROM STOP, HIGH ENGINE REVING UP TO 3,4 THOUSAND RPM WITH DELAYED SHIFTING TO NEXT GEAR WHEN TRAVELING UPHILL OR HIGH ALTITUDE EXPRESSWAY, SLAMMING INTO GEARS WHEN UP OR DOWN SHIFTING, JERKY & HARSH THUMP WHEN STOPPING FROM GEARS 1-2 & WHEN ACCELERATING FROM GEARS 1-2, 3-4-5, AND ROUGHT IDLE WHEN DRIVE IS ENGAGED. ALL COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT DURING THE PAST 60 MONTHS WITH ONLY 'COMPUTER UPDATES' FOR TRANSMISSION OFFERED AS A SOLUTION AND NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE OFFERED TO PERMANTLY REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THESE ARE 'NORMAL CHARATERISTICS' OF MY CAR. WE STAND FIRM THAT THE CAR DIDN'T PRESENT THESE ISSUES WHEN NEW OR WE WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THE PURCHASE. RECENTLY, AS OF JUNE OUR VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH A COMPLAINT OF A RUMBLE, WHINNING, AND VIBRATIONS COMING FROM THE DRIVE TRAIN WHEN DRIVING FROM 30-40 MILES AND RESTARTS AT APROX. 60 MPH.WE HAVE BEEN TOLD AGAIN THAT AN UPDATE TO THE POWERTRAIN WOULD BE PERFORMED AND SOME BEARRINGS WOULD BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE MANAGER DON'T RETURN MY CALLS OR ANSWER THE 3 MESSAGES LEFT WITH HIS ASSOCIATES TO MY TAG NUMBER AND ISSUES. THE ONLY RESPONCE WE GET IS THAT THEY ARE WAITING FOR PARTS. I ASKED IF WE WOULD GET A WARRANTY EXTENSION? THE RESPONCE WAS 'NON THAT WE KNOW OF' BY THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. MY FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRES TODAY AND MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP UNREPAIRED WITH NO POWERTRAIN SOLUTION. CONCERNED THAT WARRANTY EXPIRE AND POWERTRAIN ISSUES CONTINUE WITH NO AVAIL.
CAR SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING DUE TO OIL BEING LOW, HOWEVER THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT OIL NEEDS TO BE CHANGED AND WITHIN MILEAGE LIMIT. *TR
I HAVE A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE I PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT IS 5 YEARS OLD WITH 78123 MILES AND THE REAR SEATBELT LATCHES HAVE STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP HAS SAID THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS DEFECT FOR FREE (THEY SAID IT WILL COST $167 JUST TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT) EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED DEFECT IN A PART OF THE CAR THAT HAS BARELY BEEN USED; I ALMOST NEVER HAVE PASSENGERS SIT IN THE BACK SEAT AND THE LATCHES ARE CLEAN (NO FOOD PARTICLES OR DIRT OR ANYTHING IN THEM). WE ARE ABOUT TO HAVE OUR FIRST CHILD AND KNOW THAT IF THE REAR SEAT BELT LATCHES ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY, WE CAN'T OFFICIALLY COMPLY WITH THE VA SEATBELT LAWS AND CAN'T SAFELY STRAP OUR CHILD CAR SEAT INTO THE VEHICLE. WE ALSO CANNOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS SIT SAFELY BELTED (OR BELTED AT ALL) IN THE BACK SEAT. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT HOW PRICEY THE SEATBELT LATCH REPAIRS ARE GOING TO BE, WHEN IT SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY DEFECT THAT THE MANUFACTURER/ DEALERSHIP SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR. I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT I'M THE ONLY PERSON WITH A JEEP RENEGADE THAT HAS HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR SEAT BELT LATCHES NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I'VE ALREADY CHECKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURER AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING IN ANY WARRANTY THAT COVERS THE SEATBELTS. THERE WAS NO MAJOR EVENT THAT AFFECTED THE SEATBELTS, I JUST HAD TO SIT IN THE BACKSEAT ONE DAY AS A PASSENGER AND REALIZED THE LATCHES WEREN'T WORKING. I'VE FOUND INFORMATION: " NHTSA HAS THE AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE MANUFACTURERS TO REPLACE SEAT BELTS UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES. IF A VEHICLE OR ITEM OF EQUIPMENT IS NOT MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND IS DETERMINED TO HAVE A SAFETY RELATED DEFECT OR FAILS TO MEET AN APPLICABLE FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD, NHTSA CAN COMPEL THE MANUFACTURER TO REMEDY THE DEFECT OR NONCOMPLIANCE WITHOUT CHARGE TO THE VEHICLE OWNER." IT WOULD SEEM THAT THIS MIGHT APPLY IN MY SITUATION? *TR
WHEN STARTING OUT FROM A STOP, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES WHEN SHIFTING GEARS ALMOST CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO BE REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIMES. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM.
VEHICLE LOSES PERMANENT POWER TO COMPUTER THAT POWERS TRANSMISSION AND KNOCKED OUT COMPUTER AND THE TRANSMISSION FROM SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND PARK TO DRIVE RENDERING THE CAR TOTALLY DISABLED WITHOUT DEALERSHIP INTERVENTION DO TO BAD CONNECTION ON THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. THIS LEFT THE CAR UNMOVABLE FROM TRAVEL LANE TO SIDE OF THE ROAD IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WITHOUT A TOW TRUCK BEING SUMMONED. AT TIME OF INCIDENT VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT TO NEUTRAL FOR REMOVAL FROM HIGHWAY TO SAFETY AND PLACED EVERYONE IN DANGER OF HIGH SPEED COLLISION FOR THE WHOLE ENTIRE TIME THAT VEHICLE REMAINED LOCKED DOWN IN HIGH CAPACITY, HIGH SPEED LANE OF TRAVEL. *TR
MY CAR SHIFTS VERY BADLY WHEN I'M TRYING TO DRIVE FROM A STOPLIGHT OR A COMPLETE STOP. I START TO GO WHEN THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN IT SUDDENLY STOPS AND THEN PICKS RIGHT BACK UP. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP LAST WEEK AND WAS TOLD THAT IT IS FINE...I ALSO TRY TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC COMING FROM A PARKING LOT AND HAD ALMOST BEEN HIT BECAUSE OF THIS SHIFTING ISSUE TWICE SO FAR BECAUSE I KNOW IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND NORMALLY WAIT TO MAKE SURE NO CARS ARE ANYWHERE CLOSE TO ME AS I TRY AND ENTER TRAFFIC. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND RECALLED FOR THE TRANSMISSIONS FOR ALL THE 2015 MODELS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO MOVE FROM THE PARK POSITION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER EFIRD CHRYSLER LOCATED AT 1711 WEST LUCAS ST, FLORENCE, SC 29501, WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
VEHICLE VIN: [XXX], JEEP RENEGADE, 57000 MILES I PURCHASED A JEEP RENEGADE FOR MY WIFE AT [XXX] IN KILLEEN. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, THE DEALERSHIP RAN INTO A VIN ERROR THAT WE WERE TOLD WAS FIXED, BUT IT NEVER WAS BECAUSE WE REMAIN HAVING ISSUES WITH INSURANCE. I WORK IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND LOOKED UP NHTSA DOCUMENTATION THAT SAYS THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER UPON FINDING A DISCREPANCY AND APPARENTLY THIS WAS NEVER DONE. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO TOLD US THE JEEP WAS IN A MINOR ACCIDENT AND WE FOUND OUT THE CRASH WAS WORSE THAN MINOR, THE VEHICLE HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND ONLY ONE KEY FOB. WE WERE PROMISED ANOTHER KEY FOB MADE, BUT HAVE JUST GOT THE RUNAROUND SINCE PURCHASE. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT LOCK SOMETIMES AND WE ARE WORRIED IT WILL NOT UNLOCK DURING AN EMERGENCY. THE VEHICLE CONTINUALLY TELLS US THE KEY FOB IS NOT IN THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE STATIONARY. THE JEEP ALSO HAS TRANSMISSION ISSUES WE WERE NEVER TOLD ABOUT. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT RESPOND TO THESE ISSUES AND I NEED TO FIND SOMEONE TO HELP. I HAVE GONE UP THERE AND SPOKE TO THE MANAGER AT SALES AND AT PARTS/SERVICE. MY FOG LAMPS HOUSING MELTED. THE ENTIRE INSIDE OF BOTH HOUSING ARE MELTED DUE TO HEAT FROM THE BULBS. MY LENSES ARE BLACK. IT COST ME 225.00 FOR NEW PARTS AND THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE LABOR. HOW LONG BEFORE THESE NEW ONES MELT AGAIN? HOPEFULLY IT DOES NOT CAUSE MORE DAMAGE AND SHORT MY CAR OUT OR CATCH ON FIRE. *TR
THE ELECTRONIC EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT DISENGAGE USING THE BUTTON, BY DRIVING FORWARD OR REVERSE OR BY THE OVER ROSE SUGGESTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH AN EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGES. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. WAS TOLD IT WAS THE 4TH RENEGADE HE'D PICKED UP FOR THE SAME ISSUE IN TWO WEEKS. TOW TRUCK DRIVER EVEN CALLED DODGE TO SEE IF I WAS BY ANY CHANCE UNDER A RECALL YET. SEEMS LIKE THIS PART IS FAILING A LOT. MY RENEGADE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 30,000 MILES YET. THANKFULLY THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY AT THE TIME IT OCCURRED.
THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 1.4 TURBO ENGINE IN MY 2015 JEEP RENEGADE LATITUDE BURNING ENGINE OIL UNTIL THERE IS NOTHING ON THE DIPSTICK. I USUALLY GET AN INDICATION ON MY DASH THAT I HAVE LOW OIL PRESSURE, THEN I GO TO THE STORE AND BUY THE EURO SYNTHETIC OIL TO TOP OFF THE OUL UNTIL I CAN GET TO A SERVICE STATION OR THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THE OIL CHANGE NEEDS TO BE DONE EVEY 3,000 MILES OR SO, OR I WILL BE OUT OF OIL. THE DEALER HAS RUN SOME TESTS AND ISN'T ABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. IT JUST BURNS OIL AND IT IS, OF COURSE, NO LONGER UNDER A WARRANTY. BESIDES THIS PROBLEM, I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS OTHER WEIRD PROBLEMS THAT HAPPEN AND CAN NOT BE IDENTIFIED. I THINK THIS 2015 JEEP RENEGADE IS A LEMON. I BOUGHT IT USED AND IT WAS RE-CERTIFIED. YEAH, BY IDIOTS? OCASSIONALLY THE VEHICLE JUST STOPS RUNNING, CHECK THE OIL, AND THERE ISN'T ANY ON THE STICK. THIS HAS RECURRED 5 TIMES. THE LATEST BEING 3//5/20.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS ABLE TO BE MOVED HOWEVER THE GEAR WOULD NOT SHIFT TO MATCH THE INTENDED GEAR THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED TO. THE VEHICLE WOULD DISPLAY THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE IN PARK IN ORDER TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, HOWEVER, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO SHIFT TO THE PARK POSITION. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BREAK PEDAL FOR AN EXTENDED TIME TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PROCEED WITH DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
VEHICLE LOSES ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AND STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST FOUR YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. NOT RELATED TO EXTREME TEMPERATURES, BUMPS/VIBRATIONS OR RAIN/MOISTURE. BATTERY WAS TESTED AND EVEN REPLACED. IT WAS SERVICED BY DEALER THE PREVIOUS EPISODE AND WAS TOLD THE SOFTWARE NEEDED UPDATING. YET HERE WE ARE AGAIN. I HAVE SEEN OTHER JEEP RENEGADES WITH SIMILAR ISSUES HAVE A RECALL FOR WIRING HARNESS. ACCORDING TO MOPAR THIS YEAR ISN'T COVERED.
MY AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT TOOK IT TO A COUPLE DIFFERENT GARAGES AND THEY SAID IT'S A SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER MIRROR CALLED AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. NOW IT WON'T REGISTER THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE SO IT WON'T LET MY AIR CONDITIONING RUN. THIS JEEP WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS HAPPENING IT'S ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. I HAVE CHILDREN AND CAN'T EVEN USE AIR CONDITIONING IN A NEWER CAR.
IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS MY JEEP HAS STALLED THREE TIMES. EACH TIME I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR EASILY AND THEN START DRIVING ONCE I SLOWED DOWN TO STOP SIGN OR TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. IN ONE INSTANCE I WAS ABLE TO GET MY CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PUSH OFF TO THE SIDE OF THOSE QUICKLY TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY. BUT IN ANOTHER I WAS IMPEATING TRAFFIC AND IT WAS VERY UNSAFE. I'VE HAD DIFFICULTY IN JUMPSTARTING THE ENGINE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE.I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR AND CHECKING THE REST OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH SEEMS FINE BUT THIS ISSUE KEEPS COMING UP AND THE CAR KEEPS STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.
BOTH SEATBELTS IN THE BACK SEAT ARE STUCK AND WON'T RETRACT. THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED WORKING IN JUNE 2019 AND THE DRIVERS PASSENGER SISE STOPPED WORKING FEBRUARY 2020.
I NOTICED ONE FOG LIGHT SMOKING WHEN MY WIFE ARRIVED HOME. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION BOTH ARE CHARRED. FACTORY INSTALLED BULBS ARE STILL IN THE VEHICLE.
I SENT 1 SERVICE RECORD. I HAVE 3 MORE IF NEEDED. JEEP STILL IS UNSAFE I WAS ON A BUSY STREET AT 5PM AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I PUT FOOT ON GAS THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE THEN IT STARTED OUT INCHING AWAY AND FINALLY GOT MOVING.IT TOOK AT LEAST 8 OR 10 SECONDS TO GET PASSED THE GREEN LIGHT AND THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS WAY TO CLOSE AND COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT 4 OR 5 TIMES AND ALL THATS BEEN DONE IS UPDATES AND REPLACED A VALVE BODY PART. I HAVE AN ATTORNEY AND FILED SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER. THIS JEEP IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY DONT CARE. THEY ARE GOING TO WAIT TIL SOMEONE DIES THEN THEY WILL GET ON THIS ISSUE. I DONT KNOW WHY MY JEEP WAS NOT IN THE LAST RECALL FOR TRANSMISSION BUT IT SHOULD BE, AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO RESELL THIS JEEP OR THE 2015 RENEGADES PERIOD. THEY ARE NOT SAFE.THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS TRANSMISSION AND STILL NO RECALL. ITS BEEN 4 YRS WITH THIS JEEP RUNNING LIKE ITS 30 YRS OLD AND I AM PAYING 41000 FOR IT. DO MISSOURI A FAVOR,GET THESE 9SPEED TRANSMISSIONS OFF THE ROAD, THEY ARE CAUSING MAJOR STRESS AND HARDSHIPS TO THE OWNERS. THE SPEED IN THIS JEEP IS UNPREDICTABLE. I WAS ON A CITY STREET DRIVING AT 35 MPH AND AS SOON AS I WAS GOING DOWN A BIG HILL THE CAR SPED UP WAY MORE THAN THE USUAL DOWN HILL SPEED. THEY ALL GO A LITTLE FASTER BUT THIS WAS LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO GO ABOVE 55 AND WAS PRAYING IT WOULD STOP AND IT DID. BUT WHEN WILL THE DAY COME THAT IT WONT ... I WILL NOT LIVE TO TELL IF IT EVER HAPPENS. SAD. AND ALL I WANTED WAS A WAY TO GET TO WORK,. AND ALL CHRYSLER CARES ABOUT IS GETTING PAID .

THE BATTERY WAS CHARGED AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE RESIDENCE. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HOWEVER, THE DIAGNOSIS WAS STILL PENDING. JIM CLICK JEEP LOCATED AT 701 W AUTO MALL DR, TUCSON, AZ 85705, WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
THE CAP LESS FUEL FILLER BROKE. I WAS FILLING WITH FUEL AT THE GAS STATION. WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL I WENT TO REMOVE THE NOZZLE FROM THE CAP LESS FILLER NECK AND THE CAP LESS PORTION BROKE AWAY FROM THE FILLER NECK AND STAYED ATTACHED TO THE NOZZLE. NOW EVERY ONCE AND AWHILE YOU CAN SEE GAS MUST SPILL OUT OF THE NECK WHEN THE TANK IS FULL SINCE THERE IS NOTHING TO PREVENT FUEL FROM COMING OUT.
MY JEEP RENEGADE STALLS WHEN I MAKE A SLOW SPEED TURN. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN TO GET ON THE ON RAMP TO A LAH, THE CAR DIES. I ALMOST GOT HIT FROM BEHIND BY PEOPLE TRYING TO GO UP THE ON -RAMP BEHIND ME. THE CAR DIES WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN CROSSING TRAFFIC & I ALMOST GOT KILLED. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BLINKS. THESE INCIDENTS TAKE PLACE ON DRY PAVEMENT. I NOW SEE OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES ARE POSTING COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ON A JEEP FORUM. WHY HAS JEEP / FCA NOT ADDRESSED THIS ? THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE CAR DIES FOR NO REASON AND YOU CAN NOT MOVE THE CAR. THERE SHOULD BE A RE-CALL ON THIS. THERE ARE DOCUMENTED PROBLEMS WITH THIS & NOTHING IS BEING DONE! THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RIEDMAN MOTORS CO INC, LOCATED AT 610 N GRAND AVE, CONNERSVILLE, IN 47331, FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE THERMOSTAT NEEDED TO BE RESET HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ISSUE CAUSED THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE THERMOSTAT LIGHT CONTINUED TO RISE UNTIL MY CAR SHUT DOWN. AFTER LETTING IT SIT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES IT STARTED AGAIN. THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON AND IF I IDLE AT ALL THE THERMOSTAT CLIMBS. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS LISTED AS A RECALL AS THE ENGINE OVERHEATS AND FAULTY COOLING SYSTEM. I HAVEN'T SEEN A RECALL BUT HAVE SEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS.
I HAVE A HARD TIME PUTTING GAS IN THE CAR THOUGH IT WAS THE PUMP BUT IT'S EVERYWHERE I GO AND IT EATS UP A LOT OF GAS. THE ELECTRICAL MESSED UP SOMETIMES IT WON'T START I GOT A NEW BATTERY AND EVERYTHING BUT THE SERVICE PEOPLE SAID IT HAS TO BE ELECTRICAL MY KEYS NEVER WORK I HAVE TO MANUALLY USE KEY AND LOCK THE DOOR FROM INSIDE MY GEARS THE ENGINE IDEALS HIGH AND CAR JERKS SOMETIMES WHEN I'M TAKING OFF
THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ON TOO LONG WHILE THE ENGINE WAS OFF CAUSING A DEAD BATTERY. NO BIG DEAL I THOUGHT... I JUMPSTART THE CAR PER OWNERS MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS (IT HAS A COMPLEX BATTERY SO EVEN THOUGH I'VE JUMP STARTED MANY DIFFERENT VEHICLES I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THERE WEREN'T SPECIAL PROCEDURES, IT ENDED UP BEING PRETTY STANDARD). WHEN IT DIED IT WAS IN A GARAGE SO I HAD TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE GEAR SELECTOR TO PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT INTO POSITION FOR A JUMP CONNECTION. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND LET THE BATTERY CHARGE UP A WHILE. ONCE THE CAR CHARGED UP ENOUGH, IT STARTED RIGHT UP. AT THIS POINT I THOUGHT I WAS IN THE CLEAR, THAT'S WHEN THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. THE ENGINE IS RUNNING FINE, TRANSMISSION WAS FINE BEFORE THE BATTERY DIED. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT I COULD NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE. IT WAS LOCKED INTO PARK. I WAS BLOCKING THE ROAD IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHILE I WAS MANUALLY UNLOCKING THE GEAR SELECTOR, I FINALLY GET THE CAR TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE. ONLY THE ENGINE WOULD REV, NO MOVEMENT. TRY TO REVERSE, SAME THING. AT THIS POINT I COULDN'T GET THE CAR BACK INTO PARK. I PUSH THE CAR BACK INTO THE GARAGE TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY AND GO TO TURN IT OFF. THE RENEGADE (PUSH BUTTON START) WILL NOT LET YOU TURN THE CAR OFF IN ANY GEAR BUT PARK. IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. AFTER STRUGGLING MORE TO FORCE IT BACK INTO PARK, I FINALLY GET IT AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF. I'M LUCKY IT DIDN'T GET STUCK IN D OR R IF IT STARTED WORKING! I'VE NEVER HAD SUCH AN EXPERIENCE JUMPSTARTING A CAR AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. LUCKILY I WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO PUSH THE CAR BACK OUT OF THE WAY, OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE STUCK THERE INDEFINITELY UNTIL A TOW CAME. I'VE READ NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS IN ONLINE FORUMS. EACH ONE SAID A DEALERSHIP HAD TO RESET THE CARS COMPUTER TO MAKE IT WORK AGAIN.
MY 2015 JEEP RENEGADE HAS A DEFECT . THE KEY HAS GOTTEN STUCK IN THE IGNITION NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE I FIRST BOUGHT IT NEW. IT IS AN ONGOING SAFETY ISSUE. I CAN'T JUST WALK AWAY FROM MY VEHICLE WHENEVER THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE IT CAN GET STOLEN. I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THOUGH I TRY EVERYTHING, EVEN STARTING THE CAR AGAIN AND DRIVING IT AROUND FOR A LITTLE LONGER. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK / UNLOCK WITH KEY FAB. LIGHTS FLASH AS IF LOCKING BUT DONT LOCK. JEEP REMAINS OPEN AND VULNERABLE TO THEFT WITHOUT YOU KNOWING.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT HESITATES TO RECEIVE GAS AND IT SHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD BETWEEN GEARS. IT STALLS AND MOVES FORWARD AGGRESSIVELY WHEN PRESSING THE GAS. IT VIBRATES HARD WHILE IDLING (AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS) IT HAS BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT FEELS AS THOUGH IT IS READY TO STOP AT ANY MOMENT
THE VEHICLE IS DESIGNED WITH A SENSOR TO NOTIFY US WHEN AN OIL CHANGE IS DUE. THERE IS NO RECOMMENDED OIL CHANGE SCHEDULE. SEVERAL TIMES MY CAR HAS BEGUN TO RUN LOW ON OIL BUT THE OIL CHANGE SENSOR HAS NOT REGISTERED THIS OR ADVISED ME TO CHANGE MY OIL EVEN WHEN TH E CAR WAS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY AND HAD TO BE TOWED.

THE RECALLS THAT GENERATE FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY ALLSTATE ARE INDEED RECALLS MY VEHICLE NEEDS BASED ON PERFORMANCE ISSUES. HE INFORMED ME THAT THEY'RE NOT RECALLS, AND WHEN I SAID ALLSTATE MADE THEM UP, HE SAID 'YEAH'! THE INFORMATION FOR THE 4 RECALLS ARE FROM DATA.GOV. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT BAXTER SAYS THEY ARE ONLY GOING TO REPAIR THE RECALL (FOR ENGINE COOLING FAN) THAT CHRYSLER WEBSITE SHOWS! PLEASE ADVISE &/OR ASSIST TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE! HARD CLUNK SHIFTING IN FIRST 3 GEARS. IT SHOULD BE A SMOOTH TRANSITION BUT IT THUMPS HARD AND LURCHES FORWARD WHEN GOING FROM 1ST TO 2ND ESPECIALLY. IT'S A SCARY ISSUE THAT UPON READING I SEE IT IS A PROBLEM WITH MY MAKE AND MODEL JEEP.
I HAD THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COME ON IN MY VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO GET IT LOOKED AT AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTICS TEST ON IT. THE THERMOSTAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOT EVEN 9 MONTHS LATER, THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING AGAIN. THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON, IT WAS CHECKED, AND NOW MY THERMOSTAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS. I WAS DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
WHILE DRIVING MY RADIO AND HEADLIGHTS WILL START TO SURGE THEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL JERK OUT OF MY HANDS PREVENTING ME FROM TURNING THE WHEEL IN ANY DIRECTION (LOCKS UP). IF I DON'T IMMEDIATELY PARK THE CAR, THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF ON THEN A BUNCH OF WARNINGS WILL POP UP ON THE DASHBOARD THEN DYNAMIC POWER STEERING WARNING WITH FLASH. I HAVE TO WAIT 10 MINUTES AT LEAST BEFORE BEING ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AT RED LIGHTS, TURNING INTO TRAFFIC, ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 75MPH AND/OR 30MPH.
THE CAR STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE HAD TO COMPLETELY STOP TURN MY CAR OFF PUMP THE GAS AND THEN RESTART. THE FIRST THREE MONTH OF THE PURCHASE I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE CAR STOPPED COMPLETELY AND WOULDN'T NOT START AGAIN NO MATTER HOW LONG IT WAS BEING JUMPED OFF . I CALLED THE TOW TRUCK WHO USED SPECIAL JUMP BOX AND HE STILL COULDN'T GET IT TO CRANK. NOW HERE IT IS A LESS THAN A YEAR LATER AND THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN.

THIS HAS BEEN AN ON AND OFF GOING ISSUE. WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN THE CAR WOULD STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR STREETS. A WARNING APPEARS ON MY DASHBOARD SAYING TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK IN ORDER TO SWITCH GEARS. SOMETIMES IT PUTS ME IN NEUTRAL WHEN I'M AT A STREET LIGHT. I'D HAVE TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND RESTART IT IN ORDER TO DRIVE AGAIN BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING. SEVERAL TIMES I TRY TO TAKE MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD TURN OFF AND IT WOULD CONTINUE TO WORK LIKE NORMAL UNTIL THE NEXT EPISODE. IT'S BEEN GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND WORSE NOW.
THE FRONT LEFT DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT BULB TITS WERE MELTED DOWN THE DEALER SAID I HAD TO REPLACE ENTIRE RELATED WIRE SYSTEM. (DAYLIGHT RUNNING AND TURN SIGNAL) THIS MELTING ON THE BULB IS ABNORMAL. POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD.
MY FRONT RIGHT WHEEL COMPLETELY SNAPPED & MY TIRE WAS PERPENDICULAR TO ITS NORMAL STATE. THEY HAD TO REPLACE A HOST OF PARTS INCLUDING THE FR AXLE, STRUT, STRUT MOUNT, MOST OF THE SUSPENSION. ROUGHLY 6MO AFTER THE REPAIRS MY JEEP STARTED HAVING A TROUBLING SOUND & FEELING WHILE DRIVING. UPON GOING OVER ANY KIND OF BUMP TURN REGARDLESS OF BREAKING SPEED, I COULD FEEL & HEAR A PART KNOCKING AROUND LIKE A JOINT WAS HITTING THE WALLS OF ITS BRACKET & IT AFFECTED EVERYTHING ABOUT HOW THE CAR HANDLED ANY CHANGE IN DRIVING CONDITIONS. I WENT TO THE TIRES PLUS I HAVE BEEN USING FOR A DECADE TO DIAGNOSE & THEY RECOMMENDED I GET THE STRUT MOUNT REPLACED BUT CAUTIONED THAT THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS A GUESS AS THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE APART THE SUSPENSION TO SEE IF THE MOUNT WAS INDEED THE CULPRIT. I RECOGNIZED THAT THAT PART WAS REPLACED AFTER THE INCIDENT & IMMEDIATELY SAID WAIT, LET ME CHECK W/MY INSURANCE. I RETURNED TO THE FACILITY THAT DID THE REPAIRS & WAS TOLD THAT MY STRUT WAS 'BRAND NEW' & 'PERFECTLY FINE' BUT THAT MY SHOCKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I SOUGHT A 3RD OPINION - WHO DEDUCED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NEITHER PARTS BUT WAS ACTUALLY THAT MY ALL OF MY SUB MOUNT BOLTS WERE LOOSE & IT WAS CAUSING MY ENTIRE ENGINE TO MOVE AROUND... I WAS LIKE OK, AND WENT HOME, HOWEVER THE ISSUE SLOWLY RETURNED OVER THE COURSE OF 6-8 WEEKS & THEN 1 MO AFTER THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE ORIGINAL REPAIRS I HEARD A LOUD POP/CRACK. MY FRONT RIGHT STRUT COMPLETELY SNAPPED! I CANNOT SHAKE THE FEELING THAT ITS MORE. ALMOST 6 MO SINCE FINAL REPAIRS (NOV-DEC2020) I AM HEARING & FEELING WOBBLING/BANGING IN THE FR & THE SAME HANDLING ISSUES ON BUMPS AND TURNS. **EVENTS ABOVE SUMMARIZED FULL ACCOUNT OF COMPLAINT ATTACHED WITH IMAGES/DOCS**
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AT RANDOM TIMES. IT FINALLY DOES START AGAIN AND THEN THROWS COMPUTER ERRORS. IT HAS ALSO SHUT DOWN NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SOME OF THESE INSTANCES WERE WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND OTHERS WERE AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT SHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD BETWEEN GEARS. IT WILL STALL THEN LURCH FORWARDS WHEN HITTING THE GAS PEDAL. IT VIBRATES VERY HARD WHILE IDLING (LIKE AT A STOP LIGHT) ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME. IT HAS BEEN SERVICED AT MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP WHERE THE PUSHED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THIS HELPED, BUT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUES FOR A FEW WEEKS (AT MOST). IT IS NOW SCHEDULED TO BE DROPPED OFF AGAIN.
STARTING FROM A STATIONARY POSITION, THE TRANSMISSION OFTEN HAS TROUBLE GETTING INTO GEAR. IT HAPPENS GETTING INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE. WHEN I SWITCH FROM THE BREAK PEDDLE TO THE GAS PEDDLE AND GENTLY PRESS ON IT, THE TRANSMISSION OFTEN HAS TROUBLE FINDING THE GEAR. THE HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ALSO. STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, I GENTLY PRESS THE GAS, ONLY TO FIND THAT MY CAR WILL NOT GO. IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, WHILE AT HIGHER SPEEDS, IT TRIES TO SHIFT TO A HIGHER GEAR AND IT HAS TROUBLE GETTING THERE. IT HAS HAPPENED 60-70 TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR, BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. I HAD TROUBLE WITH THIS THE FIRST YEAR I GOT THE CAR, BUT THEY SAID IT WAS FINE. I FEEL LIKE IT'S A SAFETY RISK.
