The contact’s daughter owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, she was notified that the front passenger’s side seat belt was not securely buckled. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer, and it was confirmed that the seat belt buckle strap was inoperable. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available and the cost of the repair. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V680000 (Seat Belts). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
The passenger safety belt latch comes undone for no reason. This happens frequently. We always check to make sure it is properly fastened with the clicking sound. While driving, the buckle comes unlatched causing a safety issue. I have taken my Jeep to the Jeep Dealer and they stated there are no recalls on this particular ID and that both safety belt systems will have to be replaced for $700. This is a safety hazard due to a defective safety belt system.

We were in a HEAD ON COLLISION and our airbags never deployed, if they had my daughter and I would have Significantly less bodily injuries and trauma!! -No warning lamps or messages appeared before or after impact -yes vehicle has been inspected by police, insurance reps, auto service center rep, lawyer I was driving our newly purchased (owned less then 30 days with 17882 miles) 2017 Jeep Renegade with my teenage daughter at 4:38pm rain was present traveling straight through an green light intersection I had the right a way when another car traveling towards us attempting to turn left failed to yield for us and hit us head on bouncing off and hitting us again at a high rate of speed. Airbags NEVER deployed
I was in a t-bone accident involving my 2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. The accident was severe enough to yield the vehicle undrivable and insurance has tentatively declared it a total loss (claim not yet finalized). I had a passenger in the front seat at the time of the accident and we were both surprised that no airbags were deployed in the accident. We were wearing seatbelts and fortunately the only injuries sustained were bruising, but without seatbelts injuries would have been far worse. The Jeep was purchased with approximately 25K miles on the odometer, had only one previous owner, and had no record of accidents, damage, deployed airbags, or recalls. At time of the accident, the odometer had around 54K miles, there were no warning lamps or messages, had still not been in any prior accidents, had been regularly maintained, and exhibited no symptoms or problems. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH, SHE HAD BLACKED OUT AND HIT A TREE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. AS THE PARAMEDICS ARRIVED AT THE SCENE, THE CONTACT AND HER TWO CHILDREN WERE TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL. HER ELEVEN YEAR SON WAS TREATED FOR A BROKEN C2 BONE IN HIS NECK, HER EIGHT YEAR OLD SON WAS TREATED FOR A SEVERE SEAT BELT RASH ON HIS NECK AND HIP, AND THE CONTACT HAD BEEN TREATED FOR VAGINAL BLEEDING AND OTHER BRUISES TO VARIOUS BODY PARTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT TOW YARD. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
HAVE HAD VEHICLE SINCE 2018. FOR 2 YEARS, I HAVE HAD 3 CYLINDER MISFIRES (WITH THE LAST ONE ABOUT TO HAPPEN AT ANY MOMENT) AND MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING (ONCE ON THE FREEWAY) ABOUT 8 TIMES. I HAD TO PULL OVER EACH TIME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE STATING "VEHICLE CANNOT CHANGE GEARS UNTIL STOPPED." ONCE I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, IT TAKES ABOUT FIVE MINUTES TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THE CYLINDER MISFIRES ALWAYS BEGIN WITH AGGRESSIVE JERKING WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. LASTING A FEW MONTHS, LEADING TO AGGRESSIVE SHAKING ONCE MISFIRED. ON OCCASION, WHILE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, SEAT BELT WILL ALSO NOT BUCKLE AND IN THE LAST TWO YEARS SEAT BELT HAS ALSO COME UNBUCKLED TWICE WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
ANOTHER DRIVER RAN THE RED LIGHT AND THE HIT THE OTHER DRIVERS CAR BUT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *DT*JB
MY CAR KEEPS RINGING SEAT BELT ALERT EVEN WHEN SEATBELTS ARE ON. THE PANEL LIGHTS UP AND SAYS SERVICE EMERGENCY BREAK AND AIR BAGS. ALSO AT TIMES I GET ALERT SAYING FOB KEY IS NOT IN VEHICLE AT SAME TIME I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE TO DRIVE TO NY FROM FL AND BACK AGAIN AND AM AFRAID TO DRIVE.
AIRBAG SERVICE IS ON AND DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT. THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. THE ENGINE IS USING UP A LOT OF OIL IN A VERY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. 2000 MILES AFTER MY OIL CHANGE I DISCOVERED THAT MY ENGINE HAS NO OIL LEFT IN IT AND MY GAS IS BEING DEPLETED AT A VERY FAST RATE

AURORA, CO 80012; PHONE NUMBER 720-262-2215) WHO STATED THE LOWER TRANSMISSION MOUNT WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE SEATBELTS WERE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND OPENED A CASE REGARDING AN ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11.
SEATBELT RECEIVER IS DEFECTIVE. PROBLEM HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AT DEALERSHIP. REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN ORDERED MULTIPLE TIMES. DEALERSHIP WAS SENT WRONG PART IN THE CORRECT BOX; REPLACEMENT PART ORDERED. DEALERSHIP WAS SENT DEFECTIVE PART; REPLACEMENT PART ORDERED. PROBLEM STILL HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED. THE SEATBELT CANNOT BE PUT INTO THE BUCKLE AS SOMETHING IN THE RECEIVER IS BLOCKING ACCESS.
MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS FRONT END CRASH AND NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE DOWN A CITY STREET, WITH PARKED CARS ON EITHER SIDE (AT APPROXIMATELY 18 MILES PER HOUR) AND IN A NEARLY STRAIGHT LINE, ALL OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED CAUSING SEVERE INJURY TO THE DRIVER WHICH REQUIRED MULTIPLE SURGERIES. BLACK BOX DATA SHOWS A ROLL OVER INCIDENT FROM ONE OF THE SENSORS. THE VEHICLE DID NOT ROLL OVER, NOR DID IT HIT A CURB, THE VEHICLE IS IN PRISTINE CONDITION EXCEPT FOR THE DEPLOYED AIRBAGS WHICH DEPLOYED SPONTANEOUSLY. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THIS OCCURRED DUE TO EITHER PROGRAMMING ERROR (AS HAS HAPPENED IN THE RECALLED JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES) OR A DEFECTIVE SENSOR FROM THE FACTORY. THE VEHICLE TURNED 360 DEGREES THREE TIMES, CRASHED INTO A CEMENT DIVIDER, AND STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE LANE FACING INCOMING TRAFFIC. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A PRIVATE IMPOUND LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND CASE NUMBER: [XXX] WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO SENT A THIRD PARTY COMPANY TO INVESTIGATE THE CRASH. THE THIRD PARTY COMPANY STATED THAT ANY RATE OF DECELERATION WOULD HINDER THE AIR BAGS FROM DEPLOYING. CAR WILL NOT START. PUSH BUTTON KEY START. LIGHTS ON STEERING COLUMN LIGHT UP, RADIO GOES ON CAR DOESN'T START. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS OF SHUTTING CAR OFF AND ON THE CAR DELAYS AND THEN KICKS OVER. NOTHING WE'D UP WHEN IT HAPPENED WHEN ON THE E AT DEALER.DEALER REPLACE A COMPONENT IN THE PUSH BUTTON KEY START. HAD CAR BACK FOR 5 DAYS. HAPPENED AGAIN X 2. DEALER TOOK CAR AND AGAIN COULD NOT GET TO SIMULATE.
