THE CAR WAS THROWING EMERGENCE BRAKE FAILURE LIGHTS, ESC SYSTEM, SERVICE ELECTRONIC PARING BRAKE, SERVICE ESC SYSTEM, AND CHECK AIR BAGS LIGHTS
I MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN AND MY VEHICLE JUST STOPPED. ENGINE WAS STILL ON BUT JUST QUIT MOVING I PRESSED THE GAS BUT NO RESPONSE. I TURNED THE IGNITION OF AND BACK ON AND IT STARTED BUT THEN AN SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING CAME UP ON THE DASH. I CAN'T BELIEVE AN AIR BAG WARNING WOULD MAKE THE VEHICLE STOP IN TRAFFIC WITH NO WARNING AND NO CONTROL.
WHILE DRIVING CAR DID NOT GIVE ANY SIGNS IT WOULD STOP, STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED AND SO WAS BRAKES AND GAS PEDAL, CAR KEPT SAYING TO PUT IN PARK AND OIL PRESSURE LOW , CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE TURNING IN INTERSECTION IT DID NOT TURN OFF IT JUST WOULDN'T MOVE.
ROUGH IDLING. VEHICLE STALLING AT 60 MPH. WHEN ACCELERATING, GOING UPHILL OR TURNING CAR PERFORMANCE DROPS AND THEN CAR JERKS FORWARD.
WHILE DRIVING ON A SURFACE STREET I GOT A WEIRD MESSAGE THAT SAID CAR MUST BE IN PARK TO SHIFT GEARS. I TURNED INTO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT AND THEN THE CAR JUST STALLED OUT. THE CAR WAS STILL ON BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE NO POWER STEERING OR ANYTHING. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP I PUT THE CAR IN PARK TURNED IT OFF AND THEN TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON AND IT STALLED FOR 10-15 SECONDS THEN FINALLY TURNED OVER. AS MANY TIMES AS THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED WHY ARE THERE NO RECALLS ON THIS? TO HAVE YOUR CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHILE DRIVING IS DEFINITELY NOT IDEAL NOR IS IT SAFE TO SAY THE LEAST.
ON 3 OCCASIONS SINCE NEW MY CAR HAS CONSUMED ALL OF IT'S OIL. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR MESSAGES OCCUR BEFORE THIS IS REALIZED. THE ONLY INDICATOR IS WHEN TURNING A CORNER, A LOW PRESSURE WARNING ILLUMINATES AND POWER IS CUT TO THE ENGINE, WHICH LEAVES ME UNABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR. THEN UPON CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL, NO OIL REGISTERS ON THE DIPSTICK. I'VE GOTTEN REGULAR OIL CHANGES AT 7500 MILE INTERVALS AS REMINDED BY THE ONBOARD SYSTEM. THE OIL IS FULLY GONE BY ABOUT 6000 MILES OR LESS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO WHILE STOPPING IN TRAFFIC. THE CAR JUST STOPS AND I GET A WARNING ABOUT SHIFTING TO PARK AND STARTING, WHICH IS DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC. WHEN TRYING TO RESTART, THE STARTER IS VERY SLOW AND WILL EVENTUALLY START AGAIN. ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND OIL CHANGES HAVE BEEN REGULARLY MADE. THIS IS A VEHICLE SAFETY SSUE THAT NEEDS NVESTIGATING.
THE ENGINE WILL STALL IN TRAFFIC OR GO DOWN THE ROAD. THIS WAS HAPPENED ABOUT FOUR TO FIVE TIME IN THE LAST WEEK. THERE IS RECALLS ON THE 4WD BUT NOT THE 2WD. THIS WILL CREATE A CRASH FOR THESE MODELS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEED TO BE LOOKED INTO.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH, ENGINE JUST STALLED/DIED. I LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKE FELT LIKE A BRICK, I HAD NO CONTROL WHATSOEVER. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. TOOK 3-4 ATTEMPTS TO GET THE ENGINE RESTARTED. BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THIS HAPPENED THERE WERE NO INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASH THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM.
RECENTLY, AS I WAS DRIVING, VEHICLE WOULD STALL WHENEVER I WOULD HIT MY BRAKES AND ASK ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK (P), CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO RESTART MY CAR. ENGINE WOULD TAKE QUITE A FEW SECONDS TO FIRE/RESTART BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. IT WOULD ALSO VIBRATE QUITE BADLY AND BE UNABLE TO GO ANY HIGHER THAN 40MPH OR 1500RPM UNTIL I RESTARTED MY CAR. IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE AT ALL UNTIL I RESTARTED. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT A WEEK.
WHEN I AM DRIVING MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE, WHICH HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, THE CAR WILL OCCASIONALLY STALL WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING. A MESSAGE WILL SHOW ON THE DASH THAT SAYS 'SHIFT VEHICLE TO PARK' OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES. I WILL GO FROM DRIVING NORMALLY, TO HAVING 0 RPMS WHILE I'M STILL MOVING. I TURN THE CAR OFF. I WAIT A MINUTE. I TRY TO START THE CAR AND IT WON'T START, IT JUST KEEPS CRANKING. EVENTUALLY, AND AFTER MANY FAILED ATTEMPTS AND FEAR OF RUINING THE STARTER, I MANAGE TO GET THE CAR STARTED, BUT BARELY. WHEN IT DOES FINALLY START, I WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND AM THEN ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN NORMALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN SEVERAL TIMES NOW IN THE PAST YEAR. IT IS ALSO WORTH NOTING THAT I SCHEDULE MY VEHICLE FOR REGULAR OIL CHANGES AS RECOMMENDED, BUT I OFTEN GET AN OIL PRESSURE LOW WARNING, SOMETIMES RIGHT BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLS. I OFTEN HAVE TO ADD QUARTS OF OIL TO MY VEHICLE, EVEN WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGES. I DRIVE AN AVERAGE OF 12,000 MILES A YEAR AND I DO NOT ABUSE MY VEHICLE. WHEN RESEARCHING MY PROBLEM I CAME ACROSS TWO REMARKABLY SIMILAR ISSUES IN OTHER 2017 JEEP RENEGADES. THESE TWO RECALLS DO NOT SHOW UP WHEN I CHECK MY VEHICLE'S VIN AGAINST ACTIVE RECALLS. IT SEEMS LIKE MORE THAN A COINCIDENCE AND I AM ASKING THAT YOU BROADEN YOUR SCOPE FOR THIS ISSUE IN JEEP RENEGADES, BECAUSE I OR MY FAMILY COULD BE IN DANGER WHILE DRIVING.
DASH LIGHT ON (P)! BOOK SAYS ELECTRICAL PARK BRAKE FAIL. CAR WAS STATIONARY IN DRIVEWAY
MY SON WAS DRIVING HOME - CITY STREET - IT WAS SNOWING AND ICY - THE CAR STALLED OUT AND HE SWERVED TO THE RIGHT JUMPED THE CURB AND RAN INTO A POLE AND TREE.*DT*TP I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FOR THIS VEHICLE IN STALLING OUT AS WELL AS RECALLS. THE ISSUE IS SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED BUT IT COMES BACK DOING THE SAME THING. DUE TO THIS ACCIDENT THIS HAS CAUSED US TO HAVE BODY WORK TO BE DONE AS WELL AS OTHER ISSUES. THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IS MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.*JB *DT*TP
VEHICLE HAS 14000 MILES, HAS STALLED SIX TIMES IN 13 MONTHS. MOST RECENTLY, DRIVING LESS THAN ONE BLOCK AWAY, MADE A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING LOT AND LOST ALL POWER, DASH INSTRUCTIONS STATED THAT VEHICLE MUST BE IN P TO SHIFT GEARS. I WAS NOT SHIFTING GEARS. VEHICLE HAD TO BE SHUT OFF, WOULD NOT RESTART UNTIL ATTEMPTED THREE TIMES. THE RECALL DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VEHICLE BUT ABSOLUTELY SHOULD AS IT IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALLED JEEP RENEGADES. THIS IS EXTRAORDINARILY DANGEROUS TO EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. I HAVE TAKEN MY JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES, THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T FIND THE ISSUE OR THAT IT NEEDS AN OIL CHANGE AGAIN. MY OWNER'S MANUAL STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WILL TELL ME WHEN IT NEEDS AN OIL CHANGE, DEALERSHIP SAYS NOT TO FOLLOW THE MANUAL, TO CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES. THIS IS THE MOST SERIOUS OF THE ISSUES I HAVE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE BUT HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PARTS REPLACED IN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP OF A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. PURCHASED BRAND NEW AT $27000, NOW WORTH $14000 AND I CANNOT EVEN DRIVE IT WITHOUT RISKING STALLING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS PRETTY SIGNIFICANT ISSUE FOR OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE, WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE? HOPEFULLY IT WON'T TAKE FATALITIES TO WIDEN THE SCOPE OF THE RECALL OF THIS VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING MY JEEP RENEGADE AND IT JUST CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF ME DRIVING FOR NO REASON, THE ONLY THING THAT IT SHOWED ON THE DASH WAS YOU MUST PUT YOUR CAR IN PARK TO SHIFT. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. I TOOK IT TO THE JEEP DEALER THEY PLUGGED IT IN SAID THERE ARE NO CODES IT'S FINE. I LEFT WENT ACROSS THE STREET TO WORK. WHEN I LEFT I PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND IT CUTOFF. I GOT IT STARTED AFTER A FEW TRIES AND STARTED ON MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN I WENT TO PULL IN IT CUTOFF AGAIN. SERVICE PLUGS IT IN, NO CODES, HE WANTED ME TO DRIVE IT HOME AND COME BACK IN THE MORNING. I'M LIKE IT CUTOFF TWICE IN TRAFFIC, YOUR KEEPING IT. HE CALLS THIS MORNING SAYS IT NEEDS A NEW MOTOR THERE WASN'T ANY OIL IN IT. THEN HE CALLS BACK LATER SAYS CHRYSLER SAYS I HAVE TO DO AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND THAT THEY ARE DESIGNED TO CUTOFF IF THERE IS NO OIL PRESSURE. WHAT IF I WAS GOING 70 DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND IT CUTOFF. WHAT IF MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT AND IT CUTOFF. IN LOOKING UP PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE IT IS A KNOWN FACT AND HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. HOW CAN THEY SELL A VEHICLE THAT JUST SHUTS OFF WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT WITH NO WARNING OR WARNING LIGHTS.
2017 JEEP RENEGADE TRAILHAWK 4X4 WITH 35000 MILES. STALLED TWICE ON ME IN THE LAST TWO DAYS. BOTH TIMES I WAS GOING LESS THAN 15MPH TURNING ONTO A STREET. ENGINE JUST DIED AND IT TOLD ME TO PUT IN IN PARK. I DID AND THE FIRST TIME IT STARTED AGAIN AFTER SOME SPUTTERING. SECOND TIME IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE CAR WOULD START. ALSO, THE LOW OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR COMES ON RANDOMLY FOR A SPLIT SECOND SOMETIMES WHEN I TURN THE VEHICLE. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THEY DID THAT AND IT SEEMED TO FIX THE ISSUE UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN THIS WEEK. I AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN TOMORROW AND ASKING THEM TO CHECK THE OIL PUMP TO SEE IF IT IS CRACKED EVEN THOUGH MY SPECIFIC JEEP IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST.
THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE I WAS TURNING. I TURNED MY VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AND THE ENGINE WOULDN'T START. I DID THIS AGAIN AND THE ENGINE EVENTUALLY STARTED.
WHILE TURNING OIL LIGHT COMES ON AND CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING IN CITY TRAFFIC. OIL IS CHECKED AND CHANGED REGULARLY BY JEEP RECOMMENDATIONS. 2 WEEKS LATER DASH LIGHT (P)! WHEN CAR WAS STATIONARY. BOOK SAYS ELECTRONIC PARK BRAKE FAIL.
I HAD JUST LEFT FOR WORK TODAY, DRIVING ON THE STREET, WHEN 2017 JEEP RENEGADE DESERT HAWK SUDDENLY STALLED I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. A MESSAGE CAME ON THE DASHBOARD WITH INSTRUCTION TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND PRESS START BUTTON. I DID SO AND THE ENGINE TRIED TO START, BUT DIDN'T. TRIED A SECOND TIME AND ENGINE SPUTTERED AND EVENTUALLY STARTED. LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT HAS ALSO BEEN FLASHING ON WHEN MAKING QUICK TURNS. ONLY STAYS ON A COUPLE OF SECONDS. THIS THEN HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER I HAD JUST LEFT WORK. PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW, I'M THE ONLY DRIVER AND IT HAS 20,500 MILES. ABOUT A YEAR AGO, THE SAME HAPPENED. I TOLD THE DEALER SHOP, WHEN I WAS GETTING AN OIL CHANGE, ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE OCCURS WHEN I FIRST START IT IN THE MORNING AND WHEN IT HAS BEEN SITTING AWHILE AND I START IT (LIKE WHEN I GO HOME FROM WORK).
NO LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT. VEHICLE STALLS OUT WITH 4 BARS LEFT I GAS GAUGE. WHILE IN MOTION.
STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SHIFTING VERY HARD AT RANDOM TIMES AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WHILE DRIVING. DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME WE HAD IT INSPECTED AND COULD NOT REPRODUCE IT AT THE SHOP. WE CONTINUED TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS AND STARTED TO HEAR OUR VALVES KNOCKING SO WE CHECKED TO OIL. THE OIL WAS TWO QUARTS LOW AND BARELY ON THE DIP STICK. WE WERE ONLY MIDWAY THROUGH OIL CHANGE AND WE ONLY SERVICE OUR CAR AT THE DEALER. WE TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT USING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 2000 MILES IS NORMAL. IT MAY BE NORMAL FOR THIS CAR BUT IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR ANY CAR WE HAVE EVER OWNED. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THEY DID NOT INFORM US AT OIL CHANGES THAT WE WERE HAVING TROUBLE MAINTAINING OUR OIL LEVELS. THIS WOULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE OUR CAR ENGINE TO FAIL AND CREATE A SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING AS THE ENGINE COULD TURN OFF FROM LACK OF OIL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR JEEP TO KEEP THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT A SECRET BECAUSE THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE HAS SHOWN THAT THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.
TRANSMISSION KEEPS SKIPPING EVERY 30MPH INCREMENT. NOW MY CAR OUT OF NOWHERE SHUTS OFF. IT'S HAPPENED NOW 3 TIMES IN A MATTER OF A WEEK. I WILL BE DRIVING AND IT DOESN'T LET ME ACCELERATE AND IT ASKS ME TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN IT BACK ON. WHEN I TRY TURNING IT BACK ON IT TAKES 3 TIMES BEFORE I CAN START IT BACK UP.
ENGINE STALLED TWO TIMES ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING. THIS OCCURRED BOTH TIMES WHILE TURNING ON A CITY STREET AT AN INTERSECTION. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP SAME DAY OF SECOND OCCURRENCE. SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUND NO OIL ON DIPSTICK. OIL CONSUMPTION TEST BEING PERFORMED AT THIS TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE VIBRATED WHEN IN USE AND THE ENGINE SEEMED TO HAVE REDUCED POWER. THE CONTACT CALLED ROSEVILLE AUTOMALL (LOCATED AT 100 AUTOMALL DR, ROSEVILLE, CA 95661, 916-782-5999) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE CYLINDER MISFIRED AND CAUSED THE FUEL PRESSURE TO REGULATE INCORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V131000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) WAS ISSUED BASED ON A BILL DATE. THE CONTACT'S BILL DATE NEEDED TO BE CORRECTED AND A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE MANUFACTURER WOULD BE IN CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED A CASE REGARDING THE MATTER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY ENGINE STARTED OVERHEATING. THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN JUST STOPPED WORKING FOR NO REASON. IT ALSO BLEW OUT THE RELAY AMD FUSE. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND A NEW FAN ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED. THE JEEP IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND HAS 39,232 MILES ON IT. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS IS I FIND OUT THAT AT LEAST 66 OTHER 2017 JEEP REMEGADE OWNERS HAVE HAD THEIR RADIATOR FANS GO OUT AT 40,000 MILES. THIS ISN'T AN ISOLATED ISSUE AND THE PART HAS TO BE RECALLED. CHRYSTLER AND JEEP ARE UNHELPFUL AND UNWILLING TO ADMIT TO THE PROBLEM.
ENGINE HAS STALLED TWICE UNDER EXERTION AT LOW SPEED. LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING TURNS AND ENGINE RUNS ROUGHLY.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD JEEP FLASHES ALL LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD AND JUST SHUTS DOWN. DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU ARE OR HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING, JUST POWERS DOWN AND YOU HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO ROLL OFF THE ROAD OUT OF TRAFFIC. HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME THING, KEEP GETTING TOLD THIS IS "NORMAL" AND I SHOULD CHANGE MY SYNTHETIC OIL AT 4,000 MILES AND THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND, AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, IT FINALLY STARTED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE "SERVICE OIL PUMP" MESSAGE DISPLAYED IN THE MESSAGE CENTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO JACKSONS OF ENID CHRYSLER JEEP (4405 W OWEN K GAMONT RD, ENID, OK 73703) WHERE IT REMAINED SINCE DECEMBER 9, 2019. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JACKSONS OF ENID CHRYSLER JEEP (4405 W OWEN K GAMONT RD, ENID, OK 73703) THREE OTHER TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
MY 2017JEEP RENEGADE BURNS OIL AND IT HAS EVER SINCE I GOT IT. WELL BEFORE THE SCHEDULED TIME TO GET AN OIL CHANGE, THE OIL RUNS SO LOW MY CAR WILL START DYING AND STALLING RANDOMLY AND THEN THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WILL COME ON. I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR SERVICE TWICE ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE AND BOTH TIMES THE PROBLEM WAS OVERLOOKED, I WAS GIVEN AN OIL CHANGE AND SENT ON MY WAY BEING TOLD IT'S "NORMAL" FOR MY 2017 VEHICLE TO BURN OIL. IT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN THIS MORNING, SO I WAS FORCED TO ADD TWO QUARTS OF OIL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TO GET TO WORK. I FEEL LIKE TAKING IT FOR SERVICING WILL DO ME NO GOOD, AS I AM NOT BEING HEARD. THIS IS NOT NORMAL, BUT NOBODY WITH JEEP IS LISTENING OR ACKNOWLEDGING THIS ISSUE.

THE JEEPS TIYROD BROKE WHILE DRIVING DOWN HWY COULD NOT STEER THE VEHICLE THIS RESULTING THE JEEP VEERED OFF THE ROAD AN SLAMMING INTO A TELEPHONE POLE WE HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO B SERVICED MONTHS BEFORE AN THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT LOOK AT OR EVEN. HELP US THEY SENT US AWAY LEAVING US CONCERNED ON HOW WE COULD GO ABOUT GETTING THE DEALERSHIP TO HELP AN NOT LONG AFTER THAT THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED
I'VE NOTICED OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS MY JEEP SEEMS HESITANT SHIFTING GEARS, ESPECIALLY GOING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. LAST WEEK, AFTER BACKING PUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND STARTING DOWN THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND READ "PARK VEHICLE TO SHIFT". I HAD TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, AND TURN THE CAR OFF TWICE AND RESTART IT IN ORDER TO GET HER GOING AGAIN. LUCKILY, AS EMBARRASSING AS IT WAS, THE VEHICLES WAITING ON ME WERE VERY POLITE AND PATIENT. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN YESTERDAY EVENING. I BACKED OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT AND TURNED ONTO THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT AND READ "PARK VEHICLE TO SHIFT". I AGAIN TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WENT TO TURN IT ON. SHE SPUTTERED AND SPUTTERED AND THE ECT LIGHT POPPED UP ON THE DASH BEFORE SHE FINALLY TURNED OVER AND THE LIGHT WENT AWAY. I WAS GOING OUT OF TOWN THAT NIGHT AND I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT GETTING STRANDED. I DID MAKE IT BACK HOME, BUT THE NEXT MORNING, SHE DID THE SAME THING. I MADE IT DOWN THE STREET THIS TIME AND SHE STALLED OUT WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN BEFORE TURNING 9NTO A 4 LANE HIGHWAY. GOOD THING SHE STALLED OUT BEFORE I HAD PULLED ONTO THE HIGHWAY. I FOLLOWED SUIT AND HAD TO RESTART HER ONCE OR TWICE AND SHE SPUTTERED AND SPUTTER WHICH JUST BROKE MY HEART. MY FUEL WAS LOW THIS MORNING AND WE LIMPED OVER TO THE GAS STATION, SHE WAS SHIFTING WEIRD THE ENTIRE TIME. I DIDN'T TURN HER OFF BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID SHE MAY NOT HAVE TURNED BACK ON. AFTER GETTING GAS, SHE STARTED TO RUN MORE SMOOTH BUT SHE STILL HESITATES TO SHIFT.
PULLS TO PASSENGER SIDE THE WHEELS WERE COCKEYED THE DEALER REFUSES TO FIX IT CORRECTLY THE DEALER LEFT TWO BRAND NEW ONES ON THE FRONT AND ALMOST WORE OFF TIRES ON THE BACK AND THEY HAD TO PUT BRAND NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS ON THE CAR BECAUSE IT STARTED MAKING REALLY REALLY BAD SOUNDS THEY DON'T WANT TO FIX IT AND I THINK THEY KIRK AND SAFETY RECALLS ON THIS CAR I THINK THEY DID SAID THEY FIX THEM SO THEY CAN GET IT OFF THE CARFAX TO SELL THE CAR JUST KEEP IN MIND THIS CAR ONLY HAS 24,464 ON IT AND I'M A SINGLE DAD I FILLED IT I'M GETTING SCREWED AROUND BUY A MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY FRANK FLETCHER FORD JOPLIN MISSOURI
VEHICLE TURNED OFF AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN AND THEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO BEGIN MOVING AGAIN. HAD TO SHIFT VEHICLE TO PARK AND ATTEMPT TO START SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT STARTED.
THE 2.4 LT ENGINE IS CONSUMING OIL AT AN ACCELERATED RATE. ABOUT 2.5 QTS EVERY 1000 MILES. AT TIMES THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL WHEN ACCELERATING AND TURNING INTO TRAFFIC. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AND BEFORE THE FIRST SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE. THE DEAL IS RECOMMENDING REPLACING THE ENGINE AFTER 3-4 SERVICES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS US BRINGING THE CAR INTO FOR SERVICE TOPPING OFF THE OIL AND HAVING US REPORT BACK EVERY 1000 MILES.*DT
EVER SINCE THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER 2019, MY RENEGADE HAS BEEN STALLING WHEN I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IT STARTED OUT TO BE A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT IT NOW DOES IT EVERY TIME I TURN IT ON AND DRIVE. IT HAS STALLED ON ME WHEN I HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY ROADS AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS. I NOTICE THAT IT WILL STALL IF I AM TURNING A CORNER OR IF I HAVE JUST STARTED IT UP AND DRIVING OFF WITHIN THE FIRST FEW MINUTES. I KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS BY OTHER 2017 RENEGADE OWNERS BUT I HAVE THE DESERTHAWK EDITION AND I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING FOR MY MODEL. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF IT AND IT IS ONLY A COUPLE OF YEARS OLD. THE STALLING PROBLEM THAT I AM HAVING SEEMS TO ONLY BE GETTING WORSE.
ACCORDING TO THE DEALER I MUST CHECK MY OIL EVERY 1K MILES TO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL. THIS IS ABOUT THE 3RD TIME MY CAR HAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. WHEN I CALL THE DEALER ALL THEY SAY IS DID YOU CHECK YOUR OIL. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON SUN, NOV 3, 2019. WHY ARE COMPANIES ALLOWED TO SELL PRODUCTS THEY ARE FULLY AWARE HAVE DEFECTS, TO TURN AROUND AND MAKE IT THE CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY.

AFTER A COUPLE OF ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.

THAT WAS ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19TH. TODAY, OCTOBER 23RD, AFTER I TURNED MY CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN. THE SAME THING HAPPENED MY CAR KEEP TELLING ME TO PUT MY CAR IN GEAR, SO I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PRESSED THE IGNITION BUTTON BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN A MESSAGE CAME UP TO START MY CAR WITH THE KEY FOB. I TOUCHED THE KEY FOB TO THE IGNITION BUTTON AND TRIED TO START IT AGAIN BUT THE ENGINE WOULDN'T TURN OVER. IT TOOK 5 TRIES TO START MY CAR AGAIN.
AUTO TRANS, PERIODICALLY ON SAME TRIP, COASTING DOWN SPEED, CLICKING NOISE @28MPH MOSTLY BUT OTHER SPEEDS DOES IT TOO. HAD TO DEALER YESTERDAY, REPROGRAMMED MODULE TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM) AND DRIVE TRAIN CONTROL MODULE (DTCM) STARTED AROUND 17000 MILES (CURRENT MILEAGE 19,500). TOOK SHORT DRIVE TODAY, AND 1 CLICK AT 25MPH WHILE STOPPING AT STOP SIGN. BACK TO WORK TOMORROW AND I WILL START NOTING THE CLICKS.
CAR LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING . THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES WITHING 48 HOURS. ONE INCIDENT I WAS DRIVING 60 MPH ON HIGHWAY AND THE CAR LOST POWER AND I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A TRUCK. ALSO OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON TWICE FOR A SECOND WHILE TURNING CORNERS AND THEN WENT OFF. I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AND IS NOT OVER MILES. I AM NOT SURE IF THESE TWO ISSUES ARE LINKED,
DRIVING ON 95 DOING ABOUT 60 MILES PER HOUR CAR SLOWED DOWN WITH MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. WHILE DRIVING MY DASH BOARD FLASHES TO PUT MY CAR IN GEAR. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO GET ON THE SHOULDER AND CUT CAR OFF IT WOULD NOT CUT BACK ON. I COULD HAVE DIED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE CURRENTLY WAITING FOR ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. THIS IS VERY VERY SCARY AND JUST TO HAVE MY 60K SERVICES COMPLETED ON SEPTEMBER 21ST AND 28TH 2019 AND JUST HAD BRAKES DONE ON OCTOBER 10TH 2019. NOW I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN CALLING, EMAILING AND SENDING LETTERS IN THE MAIL HARASSING ME ABOUT SELLING MY CAR BACK TO THEM. ALL EVERYONE HAS TO DO IS BE HONEST AND SAY HEY THERE MAY BE AN ISSUE WITH YOUR VEHICLE AND YOU MAY WANT TO GET OUT OF IT NOW
