WHILE FILLING THE VEHICLE THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF AND THEN FUEL COMES POURING OUT OF THE FUEL FILL ON THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH JEEP AND THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE DUE TO THE FUEL SPILLING ON THE GROUND AND POSSIBLY EXPLODING. *TR
WHEN FILLING UP, EVEN ON THE LOWEST SETTING, THE AUTO SHUT-OFF DOESN'T OCCUR AND GASOLINE SPRAYS OUT. *JS
I HAD MY FUEL TANK REPLACED BY JEEP A LITTLE OVER 2 YEARS AGO FOR THE "ROLL OVER VALVE" PROBLEM - FAULTY FUEL TANK DESIGN THAT JEEP REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ITS A COMMON PROBLEM. AS WELL AS A SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD -- EVERY TIME THE GAS PUMP CLICKS OFF, FUEL VIOLENTLY SHOOTS ALL OVER THE PAINT, GROUND, AND MY PERSON. THE REPLACEMENT TANK HAS STARTED DOING THIS AGAIN AFTER MAYBE 20,000 MILES! JEEP REPLACED A FAULTY, HAZARDOUS PART WITH ANOTHER. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE THAT EVERY TIME I GO TO THE GAS STATION I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FUEL SHOOTING ALL OVER THE PLACE, ITS EMBARRASSING AS WELL. I MADE AN NHTSA COMPLAINT THE FIRST TIME BUT I AM MAKING ANOTHER SINCE THE REPLACEMENT PART IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING! *TR
THIS IS SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED; IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT LEAST 4 TIMES SINCE 11/30/2013. I WAS ACCELERATING, AND WHEN I HIT ABOUT 50MPH, MY LEFT TIRE HIT A SMALL POT HOLE. MY FRONT END BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY; MY STEERING WHEEL WAS LITERALLY BOUNCING IN MY HANDS AND I COULD NOT ACTIVELY CONTROL THE JEEP. THE SHAKING WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL I SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 5 MILES PER HOUR ON A BUSY ROADWAY. I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THIS JEEP HAS A SHIMMY/WOBBLE THAT OCCURS ON SOME BUMPS. SOME LEAD TO THE "DEATH WOBBLE," AND OTHERS DO NOT. THE SHAKING IS SO INTENSE THAT THE FRONT END FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO COME APART. I HAVE NEW TIRES, AND THE VEHICLE WAS JUST PURCHASED USED FROM THE DEALERSHIP, AFTER HAVING RECEIVED A FULL SERVICE. I TOOK IT INTO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP THAT CONFIRMED THAT EVERYTHING LOOKED OK, AND THE BUSHINGS WERE FINE. *TR
I TRACED A LOUD SCREECHING NOISE TO THE OIL PUMP DRIVE ASSEMBLY. AS THE ENGINE WARMED UP THE NOISE SUBSIDED BUT CONTINUES TO OCCUR.ON LINE RESEARCH SHOWS THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 05-06 WRANGLERS DUE TO A DESIGN CHANGE FROM 04 TO 05 MODEL YEARS WHERE A BUSHING AT THE TOP OF THE CAM POSITION SENSOR/OIL PUMP DRIVE THAT SEIZES DUE TO LACK OF LUBRICATION AND CAUSES THE DRIVE GEAR ON THE OIL PUMP SHAFT TO SELF DESTRUCT TAKING WITH IT THE CAMSHAFT DRIVE GEAR WHICH CAUSES LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE.DODGE ISSUED THE E05 MAR 2005 CAMPAIGN-ENGINE OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR/CAM REPLACEMENT. LETTERS WERE SENT TO DEALERS TO REPLACE THE DRIVE GEARS AND CAMS DAMAGED BY THIS PROBLEM. THE NOTIFICATION APPLIES TO THE 4.0 L ENGINE BUILT FROM OCT 20, 2004 TO FEB 1, 2005. MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT MY JEEP HAS AN OCT 9, 2004 BUILD DATE AND IS THEREFORE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH THE PICTURES I SHOWED HIM OF THE DAMAGE TO THE GEARS IN MY ENGINE. THE DEALER SUGGESTED I TRY CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY REFERRED ME TO NHTSA TO SEEK A RESOLUTION. SO AFTER INVESTING OVER $12,000 DOLLARS A MONTH AGO TO PURCHASE WHAT I EXPECTED WOULD BE A RELIABLE WINTER VEHICLE I INSTEAD HAVE A VEHICLE THAT SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY BECAUSE WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. IT CAN'T BE TRUSTED ON THE ROAD AND I CAN'T RISK USING IT AND FACING A $4,000.00 ENGINE REBUILD IF IT SEIZES. I NEED SOME HELP. *TR
FUEL FILLER SHUT OF FLAP DOES NOT SHUT OFF FUEL FILLER RESULTING IN GAS SPILLING OUT OF VEHICAL ON TO THE GROUND. *TR
EVERY TIME SINCE PURCHASING MY JEEP ON NOV 26TH 2013 WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK AS IT CLICKS OFF FUEL SPITS OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AND ON TO THE BODY AND ON THE GROUND. EVEN WHEN MANUALLY FILLING IT SPITS FUEL OUT BEFORE YOU CAN RELEASE THE NOZZLE. IF YOU ARE STANDING IN THE WRONG POSITION IT LANDS ON YOUR CLOTHES AND SHOES. THIS CREATES A SAFETY RISK OF FIRE AS WELL AS THE ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE. *TR

HAD BEEN NOTICING A PLASTIC BURNING SMELL FOR A COUPLE MONTHS, NEVER FOUND A CAUSE OR ANYTHING NOT WORKING PROPERLY. DRIVING HOME EARLY ONE MORNING I NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING, THE BRIGHTS WORKED AND SO DID THE FOG LIGHTS, BUT NO LOW BEAMS. AFTER LOOKING ON JEEP FORUMS AND NOTICING A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I DECIDED TO TAKE THE COVER OFF MY COLUMN AND TAKE A LOOK. THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTED TO MY MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH WAS BURNT, PROOF OF AT LEAST ONE SMALL ELECTRICAL FIRE, IF NOT MULTIPLE SMALL FIRES. I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, MULTIPLE POSTERS ON JEEP FORUMS HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR EVENTS. *TR
FILLING UP MY GAS TANK THE TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME. TRIED SEVERAL GAS STATIONS AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED EVERY TIME. TALKED TO OTHER JEEP WRANGLER OWNERS AND SEVERAL OF THEM HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
I'VE ENCOUNTERED THE TERM OF THE DEATH WOBBLE IN THE JEEP I PURCHASED. I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS SOME KIND OF RECALL ON THESE TYPES OF VEHICLES. I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE JEEP AND HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT MUCH. TRYING TO FIX PROBLEMS BUT IT WILL BE EXPENSIVE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER GS-A TIRES, SIZE 30X9.50 R 15. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 75 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ROLL OVER. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CRUSHED HAND AND BACK INJURIES. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A HAND INJURY. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 41,000. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.

HI, APPARENTLY MY SITUATION ISN'T UNIQUE, I HAVE A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED WITH LESS THAN 70K MILES. AT ABOUT 50MPH IT STARTS SHAKING VIOLENTLY, THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT LEAST 5 TIMES SINCE I'VE OWNED THIS JEEP, ABOUT 2 1/2 MONTHS. I TOOK IT TO THE TIRE SHOP AND THEY INSPECTED THE TIE-ROD ENDS AND FOUND NO PROBLEM. IT WAS SHAKING SO BAD I THOUGHT THAT SURELY MY FRONT END WAS COMING APART SO, I GOOGLED MY PROBLEM AND WAS LED TO A PLETHORA OF INFORMATION AND FOUND THE TERM "DEATH WOBBLE", I THOUGHT IT FELT LIKE DRIVING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS, BUT DEATH WOBBLE SEEMS TO ALSO BE AN APPROPRIATE TERM AS WELL, BECAUSE THE FRONT END SEEMS TO BE SHAKING TO DEATH. I, LIKE SO MANY OTHERS, WENT TO KEVIN'S OFF ROAD, KOR, WEBSITE AND READ ABOUT THE POTENTIAL CAUSES AND CURES. IN MY PARTICULAR CASE THERE HASN'T BEEN ANY AFTERMARKET MODIFICATIONS, IT'S AS STOCK AS THEY COME. ANYWAY, KEVIN'S RECOMMENDED SOLUTION TO MY "WOBBLE" IS TO REPLACE THE TRACK BAR, THE STEERING DAMPER, CONTROL ARMS AND BUSHINGS. THE COST FOR THIS IS AROUND $366 FOR THE PARTS AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE LABOR COSTS WILL BE. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT MAYBE SOMEONE AT CHRYSLER SHOULD ACTUALLY GO DRIVE ONE BEFORE THEY SAY "IT'S NOT OUR FAULT". THEY SHOULD BE PART OF THE SOLUTION SINCE THEY CREATED THE PROBLEM. MY 1989 JEEP DOESN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM, LEAF SPRINGS VS. INDEPENDENT COIL SPRINGS, PERHAPS,... A SMOOTHER RIDE BUT AT WHAT COST? $366 PLUS LABOR FOR ME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS ADVISED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH OVER A ROAD BUMP, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED AND NOTICED THAT WHEN FILLING THE TANK IT ACTUALLY SPLASHES FUEL OUT OF THE FILL TUBE EVERY TIME THE GAS STATION NOZZLE CLICKS OFF WHEN FULL. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS JEEP FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO MICHIGAN AND USED SEVERAL DIFFERENT STYLES OF NOZZLES FROM GAS STATIONS IN MANY STATES. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO SLOW THE FUEL DELIVERY, ANGLE THE NOZZLE DIFFERENTLY, STOP EARLY AND RESUME FILLING. THE RESULT IS ALWAYS THE SAME. ENOUGH FUEL TO RUN DOWN A SQUARE FOOT AREA ON MY CAR AND LEAVE A PUDDLE ON THE GROUND WILL ALWAYS SHOOT OUT UNDER PRESSURE. I END UP WITH GAS ON MY CAR, ON ME AND ON THE GROUND. THIS CAN NOT BE CONSIDERED SAFE FOR MY WELL BEING OR THE ENVIRONMENT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE MY GAS TANK, A $1200 REPAIR, TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INSIDE LANE AT OR ABOUT 43MPH ON A STATE HWY WHEN IT HIT A VERY SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY CAUSING ME TO LOSE MY GRIP ON THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE I COULD REGAIN CONTROL, NEARLY STRIKING ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING ON THE OUTSIDE LANE. THE SHAKING WAS SO VIOLENT I THOUGHT MY JEEP WAS LITERALLY GOING TO FALL APART AND/OR FLIP OVER. I WORK OUT OF TOWN AND WAS FORCED TO RETURN HOME AND TAKE MY WIFE'S TRUCK. *TR
WHEN REFUELING MY JEEP, FUEL WAS EXPELLED FROM THE FILER NECK AT THE SAME TIME THE FUEL PUMP CUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY. I WAS COVERED IN GASOLINE THIS TIME AFTER THE FUEL WAS EXPELLED FROM THE TANK. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON EVERY REFILL STARTING ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO BUT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN DOUSED WITH FUEL. THE JEEP DEALER INDICATED THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN INITIATED ON HUNDREDS OF WRANGLERS BUT NOT THE 2005 JEEP WRANGLERS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND THE CONSUMER NEEDS YOUR HELP!! MANY ONLINE ARTICLES FROM ORGANIZATIONS LIKE EDMUNDS AND CONSUMER REPORTS HAS INDICATED THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND THE PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE IDENTIFIED BY YOUR ORGANIZATION AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THE VEHICLES. *TR
REGARDING MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS OR MORE. FUEL SYSTEM/TANK OVERFLOWS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO FILL THE TANK. INSTEAD OF STOPPING, GAS SPEWS FROM THE FILL VALVE ONTO THE VEHICLE, GROUND, AND PERSON FILLING THE TANK. THIS IS NOT ONLY UNSAFE AND UNECONOMICAL, BUT BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND ONES HEALTH.

WHENEVER JEEP REACHES SPEEDS OF 50 MPH AND HITS A BUMP FRONT WHEELS AND STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY. YOU MUST SLOW AT ONCE TO GET IT TO STOP. AFTER ASKING OTHER JEEP OWNERS I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. WENT TO THE JEEP DEALER AND WAS ONLY GIVEN A SERVICE BULLETIN AND NO ANSWERS. *TR
EVERY TIME I GO TO FILL UP MY GAS TANK- ONCE THE FUEL PUMP REACHES THE FULL AMOUNT THE FUEL STARTS COMING OUT OF THE TANK SPILLING ALL OVER THE SIDE OF MY WRANGLER AND SOMETIMES ON MY SHOES. EVEN WHEN I SLOW PUMP THE GAS INTO THE TANK, ONCE IT REACHES A CERTAIN POINT (WHICH I CAN NEVER TELL BECAUSE MOST VEHICLES MAKE THE GAS PUMP CLICK OFF ONCE FULL) IT ALMOST ALWAYS AUTOMATICALLY PURGES ITSELF. *TR
FUEL SPILLS OUT OF FILLER HOSE ALMOST EVERY TIME I FILL UP FUEL. THE GAS SPILLS OUT ALL OVER THE GROUND AT THE GAS STATION. I COMPLAINED TO CHRYSLLER HQ AND THEY SAID, ITS BEEN NOTED AND MY VEHICLE DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALLS THAT THEY HAVE ON THE LATER MODEL JEEP WRANGLERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO THE GAS TANK STARTED OVER FLOWING WHEN I PUT GAS IN. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS A PUMP PROBLEM BUT IT GOT WORSE OVER TIME. WHEN I FILL THE TANK IT OVER FLOWS ABOUT A CUP OF GAS. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER THEY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND SAID IT HAPPENS ON SOME JEEPS. THE PROBLEM IS THE ROLL OVER VALVE STICKS OPEN. THE ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE GAS TANK - $1,250.00. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR CHRYSLER WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH CHRYSLER ACKNOWLEDGED IT WAS A DESIGN DEFECT NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. IF THERE ARE 1 MILLION JEEPS ON THE ROAD WITH THIS PROBLEM, THEIR DRIVERS FILL UP ONCE A WEEK, AND SPILL A CUP EACH THAT AMOUNTS TO 60 THOUSAND GALLONS OF GAS DUMPED INTO THE ENVIRONMENT A WEEK. SEEMS LIKE CHRYSLER SHOULD BE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND EITHER YOU OR THE EPA SHOULD ENCOURAGE THEM TO TAKE OWNERSHIP. *TR

WHEN THE GAS TANK IS FILLED ON MY 05 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED, THE PUMP DOES NOT STOP PROPERLY, SPILLING GAS OVER THE VEHICLE, THE GROUND, AND THE INDIVIDUAL PUMPING THE GAS. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME, REGARDLESS OF GAS STATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK FILLER NECK AND WHEN REFUELING, THE FUEL WOULD SPILL TO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE FUEL TANK FILLER NECK WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE FUEL CONTINUED TO SPILL TO THE GROUND AS THE FUEL TANK WAS BEING FILLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,344 AND THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000. UPDATED 04/30/13*LJ THE DEALER ORDERED A NEW FUEL TANK.
I JUST BOUGHT THIS JEEP 2 WEEKS AGO, EVERY TIME I GO TO FILL UP WITH GAS, NO MATTER WHICH GAS STATION I AM AT THE GAS ALWAYS COMES SPEWING OUT. I HAVE TRIED MANY THINGS, EVEN POSITIONING THE GAS HANDLE AT DIFFERENT ANGLES ECT. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH AND IT SEEMS THIS IS A FAULTY FUEL TANK/EVAP. THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO FIX THIS. I HAVE TALKED TO DEALER SHIPS SAYING THAT THE TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IN MY OPINION THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. MY JEEP ONLY HAS 37000 MILES ON IT, AND I ALREADY HAVE TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK!? I THINK JEEP/CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FOOT THE BILL ON THIS ONE... *TR
FUEL SPILL OCCURS DURING FILL UPS. FUEL WILL SPILL ONTO THE GROUND AS WELL AS SPEW OUTWARD FROM THE VEHICLE. FUEL HAS GOTTEN ONTO MY CLOTHING AND SKIN ON TWO OCCASIONS. *TR
GAS TANK VALVE SEEMS TO BE STUCK OPEN, EVERY TIME I FILL UP GAS SPILLS OUT. IF IT SPILLS OUT WHEN PUMPING, WHAT KEEPS IT FROM SPILLING OUT IN A ROLLOVER OR CRASH? *JS
WHEN I FILL UP MY TANK AT THE GAS STATION, THE AUTO FILL WON'T CLICK OFF UNTIL THE GAS TANK IS OVERFILLED, AND SPRAYS OUT, THEN RUNS DOWN THE SIDE OF MY JEEP. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I USE THEIR AUTO FILL NOTCHES AND WALK AWAY OR HOLD IT BY HAND, THE GAS WONT CLICK OFF UNTIL THE TANK HAS OVERFLOWED. IT SPILLS BETWEEN A LITER AND A PINT EACH TIME. *TR
TANK OVERFLOWS AND SENDS GAS FLYING THROUGH THE AIR, ALL OVER THE PERSON PUMPING, AND THE GROUND, AT EVERY FILL UP. *TR
IN TRYING TO START MY VEHICLE, A PART INSIDE OF THE IGNITION BROKE. I AM TOLD I CANNOT GET THE PART THAT BROKE AND I MUST PURCHASE AN ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN TO REPLACE THIS PART IN BETWEEN THE KEY AND THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT THAT STARTS MY VEHICLE. IT IS A SMALL PART, AND I CANNOT SEE HAVING THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN TO REPLACE THIS SMALL PART. I AM TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT THE COST TO REPAIR THIS IS ABOUT $800.00. I THINK THIS IS ENTIRELY UNREASONABLE AND IRRESPONSIBLE ON THE PART OF THE MANUFACTURER. THIS PART IS USED DAILY AND SHOULD NOT FAIL AFTER 60,000 MILES OF WEAR. MY SEVEN YEAR / 70,000 MI WARRANTY HAS JUST EXPIRED AND I AM APPALLED THAT SUCH A LARGE COMPANY CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX OR EVEN STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT TO HAVE FAILED SO PREMATURELY. IT IS USED EVERY TIME YOU START THIS VEHICLE, AND UPON CLOSER EXAMINATION OF THIS PART, IT SEEMS THAT IT IS MADE OF SUB-STANDARD MATERIAL TO BE A PART THAT MUST ENDURE DAILY USE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD AT ABOUT 47 MPH WHEN I MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. IT SERIOUSLY FELT AS IF MY WRANGLER WAS GOING TO SHAKE THE STEERING WHEEL AND TIRES RIGHT OFF. THE ONLY WAY I ABLE TO STOP THE SHAKING WAS TO PULL OVER AND SLOW DOWN, THEN AS SOON AS I HIT 47 MPH THIS HAPPENED ALL OVER AGAIN. DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS AND THEY CALL IT A "DEATH WOBBLE," AND THIS HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH JEEP WRANGLERS FOR SOME TIME NOW. BUT FOR SOME REASON CHRYSLER DOESN'T WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE SEVERITY AND DANGEROUS NATURE OF THIS MALFUNCTION. THIS KIND OF DEFECT COULD KILL SOMEONE! *TR

WHEN FILLING UP THE 2005 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON WITH GASOLINE, THE TANK OVERFLOWS AT THE FILLING POINT EVERY TIME, BEFORE THE PUMP SHUTS OFF. IT HAPPENS AT EVERY STATION, EVERY TIME. IT IS NOT OPERATOR ERROR. *JS
MY CONTACT WITH YOU TODAY INVOLVES A FUEL SPIT BACK PROBLEM DURING REFUELING ON MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER (TJ). I AM AWARE OF MANY BULLETINS AND RECALLS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, MY VEHICLE IS INCLUDED IN ONE SUCH BULLETIN HOWEVER FALLS OUTSIDE OF ANY COVERAGE FOR REPAIR OF THIS PROBLEM BY THE MANUFACTURER. MY QUESTION IS; HOW CAN THE MANUFACTURER COVER REPAIRS AND PROVIDE AN EXTENDED OR IN SOME CASES A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THIS FLAW FOR 2007 AND 2008 VEHICLES AND IGNORE ALL OF THE OTHER MODEL YEARS THAT HAVE THE SAME FLAW? THIS REPAIR WILL COST ME NEARLY ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS WHEREAS SOME PEOPLE GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED AT NO COST TO THEM. PLEASE HELP. *TR

FUEL SYSTEM DOES NOT RESPOND TO A SHUT-OFF MECHANISM. EVERY TIME WE FILL UP THE GAS ON OUR 2005 WRANGLER UNLIMITED, GAS WILL COME BACK OUT AND SPILL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND SOMETIMES SPRAY SURROUNDING AREA. SO IF YOU ARE STANDING ANYWHERE NEAR IT, MOST LIKELY YOU WILL HAVE GAS ALL OVER YOURSELF. WE ARE THE SECOND OWNERS OF THE 2005 WRANGLER THAT ONLY HAD 5500 MILES ON IT WHEN WE BOUGHT THE JEEP AND NOW HAVE ABOUT 7500 MILES AND HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE EVERY TIME WE FILL THE GAS TANK. DEALERSHIP WANTS $1400.00 TO REPLACE PLUS LABOR. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED....IT WOULD NOT START ONE MORNING AND I HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. A TINY PIN IN THE STEERING COLUMN BROKE. THIS 1/2" PIN IS NOT SOLD SEPARATELY AND I HAD TO HAVE THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED AT A COST OVER $600! *TR
