GAS OVERFLOWS AND SPILLS OUT OF GAS TANK EVERYTIME I FUEL UP. SAW NO RECALL BUT JUST STARTED READING OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS A TSB ON IT I READ BUT ONLY FOR ONES BUILT BETWEEN MARCH 2007 AND MARCH 2008 BUT MINE WAS ON APRIL 2008. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS. IT IS NOT SAFE. THANK YOU *TR
WHEN FILLING UP AT THE GAS STATION, THE GAS WILL BACK SPLASH OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE WHEN IT FILLS UP. THE GAS TANK DOES NOT ALLOW FOR THE AIR TO DISPERSE WHEN FILLING IT UP. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ! IF YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING YOU WILL GET GASOLINE ON YOU IF YOU ARE NEAR THE FUEL NOZZLE.
GAS SHOOTS BACK OUT OF THE FILLER NECK ONTO ME, THE JEEP, & THE GROUND BEFORE THE PUMP CUTS OFF EVERY TIME I FILL IT UP. THIS JUST STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO. I BOUGHT THE JEEP FROM A FRIEND WHO PURCHASED IT NEW, & SHE SAID THAT IT HAD JUST STARTED DOING IT A FEW WEEKS BEFORE I GOT IT FROM THEM. IT NEVER HAPPENED UNTIL THE JEEP GOT ABOUT 40,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
WHEN TRYING TO START VEHICLE THE JEEP WILL NOT START. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL TO GET IT TO START, SOMETIMES I HAVE TO REMOVE THE KEY OR PUSH THE SHIFTER (AUTOMATIC) INTO PARK. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH MY JEEP, AND I COULD NOT REPLICATE IT AT THE DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE STARTER AND BATTERY WHICH I TOLD THEM WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. *TR
FUEL SPILLS FROM THE FUEL FILLER DURING FUELING. WHEN THE NOZZLE CLICKS OFF, FUEL OVERFLOWS AND SPLASHES AND SPILLS OUT THE FILLER AND ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. *TR
WHEN FUELING MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (JK), AND ALLOWING THE FUEL PUMP TO AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF WHEN THE GAS TANK REACHES THE FULL LEVEL, FUEL WILL OFTEN OVERFLOW OUT OF THE FILL PORT. MY ASSUMPTION IS THAT THE PUMP IS NOT TURNED OFF SOON ENOUGH, LEADING TO AN OVERFLOW SITUATION. *TR

WHEN FILLING WITH FUEL, IT GUSHES OUT EVEN WHEN FILLING VERY SLOWLY.
I HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER, I GET GAS SPILLAGE EACH TIME I FILL UP THE TANK. CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR CERTAIN 2007 & 2008 WRANGLERS BUT MINE IS NOT INCLUDED. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO MAKE GOOD ON ALL VEHICLES THAT ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND NOT JUST PICK A FEW TO FIX. PLEASE HEAR MY PLEA AS I AM RETIRED AND LIVING ON A FIXED INCOME AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO MAKE REPAIRS ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS A FAR REACHING PROBLEM. *TR
WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL, AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. DEALER IDENTIFIED PROBLEM AS A CLOCKSPRING ISSUE. *TR
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER THAT HAS HAD 5 SEPARATE "DEATH WOBBLE" EVENTS IN THE LAST 5 YEARS. NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY JEEP WANTS ME TO PAY FOR REPAIRS THAT THEY HAVE TO THIS POINT PROVEN THEY DO NOT HAVE A PROPER UNDERSTANDING OF AND SOLUTION FOR THE JEEP DEATH WOBBLE. POPS OUT OF FIRST GEAR. WHEN YOU START OUT IN 1ST GEAR IT WILL POP OUT, CAUSING THE JEEP TO STALL IN TRAFFIC. VERY DANGERS!!! *TR
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK AND THE GAS NOZZLE AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF, GASOLINE SHOOTS OUT OF THE TANK AFTER ABOUT A 2 SECOND DELAY. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT MULTIPLE GAS STATIONS. THIS HAS OCCURRED WITH THE JEEP WRANGLER ON LOCAL GAS PUMPS THAT I USE FREQUENTLY TO FILL MY HONDA CIVIC WITHOUT INCIDENT.

I HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER JK THAT SPILLS ABOUT 1/2 GALLON OF GAS ON ME, THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND WHEN IT IS FILLED WITH GAS. THE DEALER TELLS ME IT IS A DEFECTIVE ROLL OVER VALVE IN THE GAS TANK AND THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK. I HAVE BEEN TOLD YOU HAVE STARTED AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS #PE10032. FUEL SPILL BACK DURING REFUELING. GASOLINE SPLASHES OUT AFTER TANK IS FULL, SOAKING VEHICLE AND ANYONE STANDING NEAR. TSB#14-001-011 COVERS PROBLEM BUT MY VEHICLE'S BUILT DATE IS ONE DAY OFF. PROBLEM STILL EXIST FOR MY VEHICLE. *TR
THE AIR BAG CLOCKSPRING IN MY 2008 RHD JEEP WRANGLER HAS FAILED AND BEEN REPLACED TWICE AT MY EXPENSE. THE FIRST WAS 09/13/10 @ 39693 MILES AND AGAIN 12/15/11 @ 69120 MILES. I FOUND ON YOUR SITE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL IN PROGRESS, L37 FOR 2008 - 2012 RHD JEEP WRANGLERS. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. MY CONCERN IS: HOW MANY OTHER RHD JEEP WRANGLERS ARE THERE OUT THERE THAT HAVE OR MAY EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL? IT APPEARS OBVIOUS THAT THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR THESE REPAIRS IF NEEDED AND FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME FOR MORE INFO. *TR
WHEN REFUELING, MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER DOES NOT STOP THE GAS FLOW BEFORE THE TANK IS FULL. ABOUT 20-30 OUNCES OF GASOLINE USUALLY BUBBLES OUT OF THE GAS INLET AFTER THE PUMP STOPS, LEAVING A PUDDLE OF GAS ON THE GROUND EVERY TIME. CURRENTLY THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *TR

CORROSION TO CLOCK SPRING IN STEERING COLUMN RESULTING IN HORN FAILURE TO SOUND HARD TOP ROOF LEAKS LIKE A SIEVE IN RAIN RESULTING NECESSITATING MY REMOVING THE CARPET AND LEAVING DRAIN PLUGS OPEN-NOW THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS RUSTY FROM DAMP INTERIOR WON'T START IN PARK-ONLY STARTS IF SHIFTER SHOVED INTO NEUTRAL OR SHOVED FORWARD WHILE TURNING KEY DOOR HINGE PINS RUSTY FLAT TIRE LIGHT STAYS ON AIR BAG LIGHT PERIODICALLY ON, WHICH MEANS AIR BAG IS NOT FUNCTIONAL AT THOSE TIMES. *TR
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY UNMODIFIED 2008 JEEP WRANGLER X HAS GIVEN ME AN AUDIBLE "DING" WARNING AND THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON WHILE STUCK IN VERY SLOW MOVING HIGHWAY TRAFFIC (APPROXIMATELY 0-10 MPH). BOTH TIMES IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 85-90 DEGREES F OUTSIDE AND THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS OFF. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED THE "HOT OIL" WARNING RECALL FIX HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE THAT WARNING NOR DID THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE RISE MORE THAN HALF THE WIDTH OF THE NEEDLE. ON THE SECOND OCCASION THE "DING" AND AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON REPEATEDLY OVER A PERIOD OF A HALF AN HOUR EACH TIME TRAFFIC SLOWED DOWN. *TR
AT FIRST THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD INTERMITTENTLY TURN ON, THEN THE HORN WOULD NOT WORK AND THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD ONLY TURN OFF WITH THE KEY IN THE OFF POSITION. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE CLOCKSPRING WHICH IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY......ODOM READING APPROX 32,000. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50-70 MPH OVER A POTHOLE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY UNTIL SHE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND A STEERING DAMPER WAS INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED NO PROBLEMS SINCE THE LATEST REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO TOOK A COMPLAINT AND STATED THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL HER BACK. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,730. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000.
I HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. EACH TIME I REFUEL THE GAS TANK IT SPEWS GASOLINE ON ME AS WELL AS THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. THIS IS A FAIRLY LARGE AMOUNT AND MUST BE A FIRE SAFETY AS WELL AS A HEALTH HAZARD FROM DIRECT SKIN CONTACT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM THE DEALERSHIP USED AND UNDER WARRANTY APPROXIMATELY 8 MONTHS AGO. THIS PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 2 1/2 MONTHS AGO AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. I AM TAKING VEHICLE BACK TO DEALERSHIP ALONG WITH A PRINTOUT OF THE COMPLAINTS ALREADY VOICED OF THE SAME NATURE SINCE THIS APPEARS TO BE A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. *TR
PURCHASED IN 2010 WITH <20K. HORN INTERMITTENTLY WORKED AND NOW DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. HORNS WORK WITH ALARM & PANIC BUTTON, BUT NOT WHEN PRESSING THE HORN BUTTON.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER 2-DR 4X4. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH UP AN EXTREMELY STEEP GRAVEL ROAD INCLINE, THE OIL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE RPMS CONTINUED TO INCREASE BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES AND THE OIL LIGHT SHUT OFF. HE WAS THEN ABLE TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE AS NORMAL. THE WEATHER WAS DESCRIBED AS VERY HOT DURING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID POTENTIALLY BECAME EXTREMELY HOT, CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO INSTALL A COOLER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,900.
OCCASIONALLY MY TRANSMISSION VIOLENTLY "POPS" OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHEN I AM MOVING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE NOW MADE A HABIT OF HOLDING THE SHIFT LEVEL INTO 1ST GEAR AND SOMETIMES IT FORCES MY HAND AND THE SHIFT LEVER OUT OF GEAR NO MATTER HOW HARD I AM PUSHING THE SHIFT LEVER. *TR
HAD CLOCKSPRING REPLACED AT ABOUT 40,000 MILES BECAUSE THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS COMING ON. JEEP NOW HAS ABOUT 69,000 MILES ON IT AND THE CLOCKSPRING WENT BAD AGAIN. HAD IT REPLACED AGAIN TO FIX THE AIRBAG LIGHT PROBLEM. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON OCCURANCE ON THIS VEHICLE AND COULD EASILY CAUSE DEATH IN A COLLISION IF THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPOY DUE TO A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. NHTSA AND/OR JEEP SHOULD HAVE A RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED FROM FIRST GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE SHIFTER BOOT WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED YET THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE DEALER THEN REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION WITH A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP THE TRANSMISSION VIOLENTLY SLAMS OUT OF 1ST GEAR INTO NEUTRAL LEAVING THE CAR STALLED IN TRAFFIC. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION. WHEN ASKING THE JEEP DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE PROBLEM THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE, BUT SAID THERE PROBABLY WILL NOT BE A RECALL UNTIL SOMEONE IS INJURED. *TT
WHILE FILLING UP THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, AFTER THE GAS PUMP HANDLE SHUTS OFF, A PORTION OF GAS WILL FLOW OUT OF THE FILL TUBE. DIFFERENT POSITIONS OF THE GAS PUMP INSERTED INTO FILL TUBE STILL RESULTS IN GAS POURING OUT THE FILL TUBE. GAS WILL STILL POUR OUT OF THE FILL TUBE EVEN AT A VERY SLOW FILL RATE. DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS WERE USED WITH THE SAME RESULT. THERE IS GREAT CONCERN ABOUT THE SPILLED FUEL CATCHING FIRE ON THE VEHICLE OR A PERSON WHO THIS HAPPENS TO UNEXPECTED.
VEHICLE NOW SINCE DATE OF INITIAL OCCURRENCE SPEWS FUEL BACK OUT OF FILLER NECK WHEN FUELING. SPILT FUEL LAUNCHES OUT FROM TRAPPED PRESSURE IN TANK AND COVERS THE GROUND AND SIDE OF VEHICLE. IT ALSO SPLASHES ON OPERATOR BUT I USUALLY STAY BACK IF I CAN HELP IT. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS BUT FIND THE STATION IS NOT A FACTOR IN THIS ISSUE. IT ALSO DOESN'T MATTER IF I STOP THE PUMP MANUALLY OR ALLOW THE MECHANICAL FEATURE OF THE PUMP STOP THE FUELING PROCESS. THE JEEP DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WHEN NEW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT REFERRED TO THE SHAKING AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO SLIGHTLY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO SLOW DOWN AND PULL OVER IN ORDER TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. PREVIOUSLY, THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A STEERING STABILIZER REPLACED FOR THE "DEATH WOBBLE" BUT THAT DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE CURRENT FAILURE DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED SINCE THE FAILURE COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
WHILE FILLING UP THE JEEP, AT ABOUT 3/4 OF A TANK OF GAS THE GAS COMES BLOWING BACK OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE. GAS SPLATTERS ALL OVER YOU, DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND ON THE GROUND. THIS JUST STARTED AT ABOUT 35000 MILES. IT'S HARD TO PUT GAS IN, ALWAYS WORRYING IF YOUR GOING TO SPRAYED WITH GAS.
2008 JEEP WRANGLER 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION THAT POPS OUT OF FIRST GEAR. STARTED POPPING OUT IN SEPTEMBER OF 10' WHEN I WAS STARTING TO DRIVE AFTER STOPPING FOR A RED LIGHT AND WENT TO TURN LEFT AND IT POPPED OUT OF FIRST WITH A LOUD BANG, ITS HAPPENED ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY CAR MULTIPLE TIMES TO THE POINT WHERE I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT. I HAD IT LOOKED AT MULTIPLE TIMES AT MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM, FINALLY IN JANUARY OF 2011 WHEN I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE 1000 OR OTHER COMPLAINTS I HAD READ THE RE-LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE AND THEY PUT IN A NEW SHIFTER BOOT, THE DAY I PICKED THE CAR UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP IT STARTED JUMPING OUT OF GEAR AGAIN, MY CAR HAS NO BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 3 WEEKS. THEY ARE PUTTING IN A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. *TR
GAS WILL SPILL OUT (SPLASH) FROM THE FILLER TUBE BECAUSE THE AUTOMATIC FUEL SHUTOFF FEATURE ON GAS PUMPS WILL NOT DETECT FUEL FILL LEVEL UNTIL TOO LATE. GAS WILL USUALLY HEMORRHAGE ENOUGH TO SPLASH OUT OF THE TUBE AND RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND COLLECT ON THE BUMPER. IF YOU STAND TOO CLOSE IN SOME CASES YOU MIGHT GET GAS ON YOUR CLOTHING. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH LATE MODEL JEEP JK MODELS
HAVING PROBLEM WITH "DEATH WOBBLE". WHILE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, OVER 40MPH. A VIOLENT SHAKING HAS OCCURRED A MULTIPLE NUMBER OF TIMES. FEELS AS THOUGH THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF VEHICLE IS READY TO FLY OFF. CONTROL OF VEHICLE IS COMPROMISED. ESPECIALLY AT SUCH A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, WHICH USUALLY OCCURS ON THE FREEWAY WITH OTHER VEHICLES AROUND. DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THE STEERING STABILIZER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET SAYS THAT THIS JUST MASKS THE PROBLEM. PERSONALLY LOOKING AT THE STEERING COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE. I CANNOT SEE HOW A WORN OUT STEERING STABILIZER CAN CAUSE SO MUCH CHAOS. *TR
THE FUEL TANK IN MY 2008, 2 DOOR, JEEP WRANGLER JETTISONS FUEL AT EACH FILL-UP. I'M TOLD THE ROLL-OVER VALVE HAS FAILED AND THAT THIS IS COMMON FOR JEEP WRANGLER JKS. I PURCHASED A NEW 2008 JEEP WRANGLER ON OCTOBER 31, 2008 FROM WEST-HERR CHYSLER JEEP. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE MORNING OF 6/16/2010, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) LIGHT CAME ON JUST MOMENTS BEFORE I WAS TO ENTER HIGHWAY 219. (I WAS PASSING THROUGH THE TOWN OF ORCHARD PARK ON HIGHWAY 20A. I THOUGHT IT STRANGE BUT KNEW IT WAS VERY SENSITIVE TO EVEN A SLIGHT CHANGE IN PRESSURE.) I PROCEEDED TO ENTER THE 219, INCREASING SPEED TO 60 MPH, WHEN I SUDDENLY REALIZED I HAD LOST ALL PRESSURE IN MY RIGHT REAR TIRE. I MANAGED TO SAFELY EXIT THE HIGHWAY AND TO CALL MY HUSBAND TO CHANGE THE TIRE. WHILE DOING SO, HE NOTICED THE ENTIRE VALVE STEM WAS MISSING. THERE WAS JUST A HOLE WHERE IT HAD BEEN. HE ASSUMED THAT THE NUT THAT HOLDS THE TPMS HAD WORKED ITS WAY LOOSE AND THAT IT WAS INSIDE THE TIRE. HE TOOK THE TIRE TO WEST-HERR CHRYSLER JEEP AND THEY REINSERTED THE TPMS AND REPLACED THE MOUNTING NUT. ABOUT A YEAR LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN - INSTANT DEFLATION - WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON I-190 (ABOUT 50 MILES/HOUR), ONLY THIS TIME IT WAS MY LEFT REAR TIRE. AGAIN, I MANAGED TO EXIT SAFELY AND TO AGAIN CALL MY HUSBAND. THIS TIME HE COULDN'T GET THE TIRE OFF THE HUB SO WE CALLED AAA. WHILE WAITING FOR THEM, A FELLOW JEEP OWNER STOPPED TO RENDER ASSISTANCE AND HE POINTED OUT THAT THE NUT HOLD THE TPMS ON THE LEFT FRONT TIRE WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALSO. (MY HUSBAND WHO HAS A PH.D. IN CHEMISTRY FROM INDIANA U. NOTICED THAT MOST OF THE VALVE STEM IS ALUMINUM AND IT IS IN CONTACT WITH THE STEEL WHEEL. HE POSTULATED THAT THE TWO UNLIKE METALS ACTED AS A CELL AND WITH THE SALT THAT IS USED ON THE ROADS HERE THAT LED TO VERY RAPID CORROSION.) THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN MONDAY, 7/9/12, WITH MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE WHILE I WAS GOING 40 MPH. HOW CAN A VEHICLE BE MARKETED WITH SUCH AN OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW?

JEEP EXPERIENCED VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE FRONT WHEELS WHEN DRIVEN OVER ROUGH SURFACE/TERRAIN AT SPEEDS ABOVE 30 MPH. OWNER HAD DIFFICULTY DUPLICATING THIS ANOMALY FOR JEEP REPAIR SERVICE, BUT WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE IT VIA A TEST DRIVE WITH JEEP SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE; JEEP SERVICE DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING STABILIZER HAD FAILED, WHICH WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY; AFTER ~16 MONTHS, THIS SAME ANOMALY RETURNED & NOW THE STEERING STABILIZER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN; AFTER ANOTHER JEEP OWNER TOLD ME HE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, IT SEEMS THAT CERTAIN JEEPS HAVE FAULTY STEERING STABILIZERS; THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH/WRECK & LOSS OF LIFE. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE INNER FENDER LINER WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE BRAKE LINE AND CAUSED AN GROOVE TO THE BRAKE LINE. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V236000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY STATED THAT THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERN OF THE POTENTIAL SAFETY RISK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000.
WHEN DRIVING OVER 50MPH IN MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER IF I HIT CERTAIN POTHOLES OR EXPANSION JOINTS ON THE HIGHWAY, THE WHOLE JEEP STARTS SHAKING VIOLENTLY TO THE POINT WHERE I LOSE CONTROL AND DRIVERS AROUND ME PULL OFF THE ROAD WHEN THEY SEE WHAT MY JEEP IS DOING. I HAVE TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP SHAKING AND IT ONLY DOES SO ONCE I AM ABLE TO BRING IT TO A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE IT SEEMS MANY JEEP WRANGLERS DO IT. IT IS CALLED "DEATH WOBBLE" AND JEEP/CHRYSLER WILL NOT FIX IT. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE MY FAMILY IN. *TR
CLOCK SPRING FAILURE AT 35,000 REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, FAILED AGAIN AT 45,000. THE DEALER WANTS $370 TO REPLACE IT AGAIN. THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT WORK NOW. I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX IT EVERY 10,000 MILES. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK AND ON AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF AT THE PUMP,THE PUMP WILL SHUT OFF AND THEN GAS WILL ALMOST SHOOT OUT OF THE FILLING TUBE. THIS HAPPENS ON AT ANY GAS STATION AND LEAVES GAS ALL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND ON THE GROUND. I NOW ONLY GET GAS WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON AND I CAN GUESS ON HOW MUCH GAS I NEED. AT FILL UP, I PUT THE PUMP TO AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF UNTIL I ESTIMATE I AM 2 GALLONS SHORT. I THEN FINISH OFF MANUALLY AT THE LOWEST FLOW RATE. THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE TO WORK.
