TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER 2-DR 4X4. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH OVER A ROAD BUMP, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY VIBRATE. THE CONTACT DECELERATED TO 10 MPH WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE TO STOP. THE MALFUNCTION RECURRED WHENEVER DRIVING OVER UNEVEN ROAD SURFACES OR BUMPS AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 45-60 MPH. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
SYNCHRO PROBLEM 'JUMPS VIOLENTLY OUT OF 1ST GEAR [JOG] SINCE 35K MILES
FILLING UP AT THE GAS STATION THE GASOLINE OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE TANK, IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. *TR
WHEN FUELING, THE AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF HAS STARTED SHUTTING OFF TOO LATE, RESULTING IN A FUEL SPILL EVERY TIME = FIRE HAZARD PLUS PAINT DAMAGE. MULTIPLE GAS STATIONS, MULTIPLE PUMPS, DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES. THE INCIDENT DATE REFLECTS THE MOST RECENT FILL-UP, WHERE I STARTED SEARCHING FOR A SOLUTION. SEARCHED ON-LINE, AND HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT IS COMMON WITH THIS MAKE, MODEL AND MODEL YEAR. (UNFORTUNATELY, I AM JUST PAST THE 3-YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD). *TR
FUEL OVERFLOW WHEN FILLING UP WITH GAS. THE PUMP DOESN'T SHUT OFF UNTIL AFTER IT HAS SPILLED ALL OVER THE GROUND AND SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS. *LN
GAS TANK OVERFLOWED VIOLENTLY WHEN THE GAS STATION AUTOMATIC PUMP SHUT OFF.
SINCE 2010 I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH GAS OVER FLOW WHEN FILLING THE TANK. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS THE GAS ATTENDANT AND BEING CARELESS. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE MOSTLY IN THE COOLER WEATHER AND WINTER MONTHS. IT IS BEEN BECOMING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS WHERE AFTER RESEARCHING AND SPEAKING WITH OTHER JEEP OWNERS HAVE FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN A HAZARD AND RECALL IN A LOT OF WRANGLERS. I HAVE ALSO LEARNED THAT MY JEEP IS NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL AND HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS COSTLY REPAIR MYSELF. I FIND THIS UNFAIR OF CHRYSLER TO DO THIS TO FAITHFUL JEEP OWNERS. I ALSO FOUND THAT I AM NOT ALONE IN THESE COSTLY REPAIRS AS I MIGHT ALSO HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE GAS TANK. I DO NOT WISH TO TURN THIS INTO A BATTLE. STARTING AT 35K MILES ON MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER...EACH FILL UP AT THE GAS STATION, GAS WOULD SPEW OUT AFTER THE GAS PUMP WOULD CLICK OFF. THIS IS A VERY HAZARDOUS CONDITION. THE ONLY WAY NOT TO HAVE THE GAS SPILL OUT IS TO NOT FILL THE TANK UP. A DEFINITE FLAW IN DESIGN AS I'VE BEEN READING ITS HAPPENING TO LOTS OF JEEP OWNERS FROM 2007-2010. *TR
I WOULD EXPLAIN THIS AS A TERM THAT IS USED IN THE "JEEP COMMUNITY" AS A "DEATH WOBBLE". BASICALLY WHAT HAPPENED IS I WAS EXITING AN INTERSTATE OFF RAMP FOR ANOTHER INTERSTATE. I SLOWED TO ABOUT 40-45 MPH. WHEN I STARTED TO FOLLOW THE BEND TO THE RIGHT I CROSSED OVER A "SEAM" IN THE ROAD CONNECTING SECTIONS OF THE PAVEMENT. IT WAS AT THIS MOMENT THAT MY JEEP JK BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE SHAKING WAS LOCATED AT THE FRONT OF THE JEEP. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 10 MPH (LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME) AND THE SHAKING WENT AWAY. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT IT WAS SUCH A VIOLENT SHAKING THAT I THOUGHT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS GOING TO COME OUT OF MY HANDS AND I THOUGHT THE FRONT END OF MY JEEP WAS GOING TO "EXPLODE". IF THE NTSB WOULD SEARCH THE WEB FOR "DEATH WOBBLE" YOU WOULD LOCATE VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE THAT SHOW EXACTLY WHAT OCCURRED TO ME.
WHEN FUELING MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER FAST, THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF WILL CLICK OFF WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. THEN THE TANK SPITS GASOLINE BACK OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AND DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP. A COUPLE TIMES I TRIED FILLING THE TANK AT THE SLOWEST AUTOMATIC RATE AND THE VALVE DIDN'T SHUT OFF WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL. THIS STARTED IN EARLY 2010, BUT IT WASN'T ON EVERY TANK FILL. NOW, IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I TRY TO COMPLETELY FILL THE TANK. AS OF TODAY I HAVE UNDER 29,000 MILES ON THE JEEP. *TR
FUEL OVERFLOW FROM FILLER TUBE AND SPRAYS ONTO PERSON PUMPING FUEL, VEHICLE AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT. THIS HAPPEN EVERY TIME WE FUEL JEEP. WE HAVE HAD THE JEEP SINCE 2008 AND PROBLEM STARTED IN DECEMBER 2010. THIS JEEP LOOKS BRAND NEW AND GARAGE KEPT AND NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK ON MY '08 JEEP WRANGLER, THE TANK OVERFLOWS AND SPILLS GAS ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I LOCK THE TAB ON THE FUEL NOZZLE TO AUTO FILL THE TANK, AND EVERYTHING WORKS AS NORMAL UNTIL THE PUMP SHUTS OFF. WHEN THE PUMP SHUTS ITSELF OFF, IT IS QUICKLY FOLLOWED BY GAS GUSHING BACK OUT OF THE FILLER PORT. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, IT SPRAYED GAS ALL OVER MY PANTS, SHOES, GLOVES, ALL OVER THE BACK CORNER OF MY JEEP, AND LEFT A 3FT DIAMETER PUDDLE OF FUEL ON THE GROUND. I HAVE HAD THE JEEP SINCE NEW (BOUGHT IN FEB '09) AND IT JUST TURNED 40K MILES. THE FIRST INSTANCE HAPPENED ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, AND IT HAS HAPPENED THREE MORE TIMES SINCE THEN. *TR
2008 JEEP WRANGLER JK (2 DOOR). GAS LEAKS OUT OF TOP OF THE FILLER NECK WHEN FILLING THE JEEP UP WITH GAS. THE AUTO SHUTOFF ON THE GAS PUMP CLICKS AND THEN THERE IS PROB 1/4 TO 1/2 GALLON OF GAS SPILLING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE CAR. INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND ITS NOT BECAUSE IM TOPPING THE TANK OFF. THERE SEEMS LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR BECAUSE IT HAPPENS AT ALL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS WITH OR WITHOUT THE RUBBER COVER ON THE GASOLINE PUMP FILLER NECK. *TR
WHEN I FILL UP MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. GAS SHOOTS BACK OUT OF THE VEHICLE. ENOUGH TO RUN DOWN THE BUMPER TO THE GROUND. IF YOU ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION THE GAS CAN GET ON YOU. *TR
THE LAST THREE OR SO TIMES I'VE FILLED THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, THE AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF ON THE PUMP DOES NOT ENGAGE UNTIL FUEL HAS OVERFLOWED THE TANK AND SPILLED ONTO THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. THIS HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF WHICH FUEL STATION I GO TO. EACH INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED AT A FUEL STATION WHERE I USED TO BE ABLE TO FILL MY TANK WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THAT AN INVESTIGATION IS ALREADY OPEN REGARDING THIS ISSUE. I WOULD THINK A RECALL IS IN ORDER CONSIDERING THE PROXIMITY OF THE FUEL SPILL TO HOT BRAKE PADS AND OTHER POTENTIAL SOURCES OF IGNITION.
EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. GAS SHOOTS BACK OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ON YOUR HAND AND ARM. *TR
GAS TANK OVERFLOWS - AT 13,500 MY FUEL TANK BEGAN OVERFLOWING BADLY AT EVERY FILLUP. I KNOW THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM ON 2007+ JEEP WRANGLER JKS. MANY TIMES THE FUEL ENDS UP ON THE PANTS AND SHOES OF THE PERSON FILLING UP THE TANK. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO MAKE THIS AN OFFICIAL RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. *TR

WHEN FILLING MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (2 DOOR) WITH GAS AND THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF ABOUT 0.5 GAL OF GAS WILL SPILL OUT OF THE FILL TUBE ON ME, MY CAR, AND THE GROUND. GOT A NICE GAS BURN ON MY FOOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED. THE SECOND TIME I STOOD AWAY FROM THE CAR NOT KNOWING IF THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE GAS PUMP OR MY CAR. AFTER HAVING GAS SPILL FROM MY CAR TWICE I DON'T FILL THE TANK ANY MORE AND EVERY TIME I DO PUT GAS IN I AM AFRAID I WILL HAVE ANOTHER SPILL AS I AM NOT SURE HOW FULL I CAN GET IT BEFORE I HAVE PROBLEMS AGAIN. *TR
THE LAST 5 OR 6 TIMES I FILLED UP ON GAS, THE GAS OVERFLOWED AND SPILLED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE WRANGLER AND ONTO THE GROUND. HAVE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM TO LOOK AT IT AND TRY TO DETERMINE WHAT THE PROBLEM AND SOLUTION IS. *TR

GAS TANK OVERFLOWS WHEN BEING FILLED. THIS IS A SCARY SITUATION WHEN OTHERS AT THE STATION MIGHT BE SMOKING, USING A CELL PHONE, ETC. THIS HAPPENS MOST EVERY TIME YOU FILL THE TANK. I NOW TRY TO GUESS AND KEEP THE TANK AT 3/4'S. *TR
WELL I HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER X. WHEN I GET TO 50 MPH I EXPERIENCE EXTREME "DEATH WOBBLE" AS ITS OFTEN CALLED. MY VEHICLE WILL SHAKE TO THE POINT THAT IT FEEL LIKE EITHER THE AXEL IS GOING TO SNAP OR THE WHEELS WILL SHOOT OFF IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. IT IS VERY SCARY. ITS DOES IT ROUGHLY 8 OUT OF 10 TIMES AT 50MPH. IT STARTED AFTER HAVING THE JEEP FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS AND MY DEALERSHIP TRIED ONCE TO FIX THE PROBLEM AFTER THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS THE FRONT STABILIZER. IT CONTINUED AFTER THEY REPLACED THAT AND FROM THAT STANDPOINT TOLD ME IT WAS THE TIRES AND THEY WOULDN'T COVER NEW TIRES AFTER ONCE TELLING ME THEY HAD FIXED THE ISSUE. I NOW HAVE TO AVOID THE HIGHWAY IN FEAR OF DEATH. IT IS HONESTLY RESEMBLES OF A 8 OR 9 ON THE RICHTER SCALE. *TR
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. FINALLY IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF. *TR

GAS SPILL ON FILL-UP. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME NOW WITH GAS RUNNING DOWN SIDE OF VEHICLE AND ON TO GROUND WHILE FILLING UP.
2008 JEEP WRANGLER RHD POSTAL VEHICLES USED BY RURAL CARRIERS FOR USPS. THOSE OF US WHO PURCHASED THE VEHICLES ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH AIRBAG MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT AND NO HORN USE OR INTERMITTENT USAGE. ONE ITEM OF INTEREST POSSIBLE CAUSE IS THE SPRINGCLOCK IN THE STEERING COLUMN AS COMPONENT THAT OPERATES BOTH HORN AND AIR BAG CIRCUITS. THIS ITEM HAS BEEN A PROBLEM IN YEARS PAST WITH JEEP. CONCERNED WITH A DEPLOYMENT OF FAULTY AIR BAG ISSUE MOSTLY, TRYING TO GET MY VEHICLE IN FOR A COMPLETE INVESTIGATION. TECHNICIANS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY WHEN THEY ARE IN. FORUMS AT RURALINFO.NET CONFIRM OTHERS ARE HAVING THESE SAME ISSUES. MY VEHICLE HAS 50K MILES WHEN PROBLEM OCCURRED. *TR

STARTING IN NOVEMBER 2010 WITH LESS THAN 34,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE WHEN FILLING UP WITH FUEL THE JEEP WILL OVER FLOW ONCE FULL. NOW EVERY TIME THE FUEL NOZZLE IS CLICKED TO HOLD IN THE ON POSITION, FOR SOME REASON IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF IN TIME, NO MATTER WHAT GAS STATION I USE. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR MYSELF AS WELL BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. I WOULD THINK THAT JEEP WOULD ISSUE A FULL RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP WHICH I PURCHASED THE JEEP DID REPLACE THE FUEL TANK, AND OTHER COMPONENTS TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER 2-DR 4X4RHD. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING WAS REPLACED. NINE MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE DEALER WHO ORDERED THE PART AND UPON AVAILABILITY THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THERE WAS NO RELATED RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. UPDATED 09/28/11*LJ UPDATED 2/28/12 *CN
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FURTHER BUT THE VEHICLE HESITATED BEFORE LUNGING FORWARD. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND TURNED OFF. UPON EXAMINATION HE NOTICED THAT TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE TRANSFER CASE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT IT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REBUILT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 47,063.
WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE AND SETTING THE GAS PUMP TO AUTO SHUT-OFF, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACTIVATE THE AUTO SHUT-OFF RESULTING IN GASOLINE BLOWING OUT OF THE FUEL OPENING. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES SO FAR AND RESULTED IN GASOLINE SPILLING ONTO MY PANTS, SHOES, SIDE OF VEHICLE, BUMPER AND GROUND. THIS PROBLEM IS DANGEROUS TO PERSONS, DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND IS AN ENVIRNOMENTAL ISSUE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN FUEL WAS ADDED TO THE VEHICLE, ABOUT ONE TO TWO GALLONS FLOWED BACK OUT OF THE VEHICLE . THE FAILURE OCCURRED A FEW SECONDS AFTER THE PUMP STOPPED. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN THE FUEL WOULD RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND INTO THE EXHAUST. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000.

I OWN A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER JK AND FOR ABOUT A MONTH WHEN I FILLUP AT THE GAS STATION IT OVERFLOWS ABOUT A HALF OF QUART OF GAS ONTO THE GROUND. I HAVE BROUGHT THE JEEP TO STORM'S MOTORS IN SOUTHAMPTON NY WHERE I PURCHASED SAME AND AGREED TO REPLACE TANK. I HAVE TO PAY THE $100 DEDUCTIBLE. I HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER, 2 DOOR. AT AROUND 30,000 MILES, I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE GAS OVERFLOW WHEN FILLING UP. WHEN THE PUMP IS LEFT TO AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF, IT WILL AND THEN GAS WILL FLOW OUT OF THE FILL UP TUBE. IT HAS BEEN ANYWHERE FROM SHOOTING OUT TO JUST RUNNING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP. I WOULD GUESS AT LEAST A CUP OF GAS. THIS HAPPENS AT VARIOUS FUEL PUMPS AND DIFFERENT STATIONS. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING AND MAYBE IT WAS THE PUMP. I TOLD THEM IT HAD HAPPENED AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT PUMPS, BUT THEY WOULD DO NOTHING. I NOW HAVE TO GUESS WHEN THE TANK IS ABOUT FILLED AND GO THE LOWEST FLOW SETTING ON THE PUMP HANDLE. IF I GET THIS RIGHT, I DON'T GET GAS ON ME OR ALL OVER THE SIDE OF MY JEEP. NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WHEN IT WAS NEW AND I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT SHOULD BE FIXED. *TR
THE FIRST OF MANY TIMES HAPPENED ONE MORNING AS I WAS GETTING INTO VEHICLE. THE HORN, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, LIGHTS AND INSTRUMENT INDICATOR LIGHTS ALL ACTIVATED. THE WIPERS SPRAYED ALL THE FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR. I COULD NOT TURN THESE OFF. AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT CRANK FOR SOME TIME AND THE HORN NO LONGER WORKED. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY HORN AND REPLACED THE CLOCKSPRING, HORN AND A FUSE. A FEW WEEKS LATER, WHILE DRIVING, THE HORN, WIPERS AND LIGHTS ALL CAME ON AND I COULD NOT TURN THESE OFF! EVEN AFTER REMOVING THE KEY, THE ENGINE AND ALL THE ABOVE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF! ONCE AGAIN, I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY IN ORDER TO SHUT THESE COMPONENTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE! NOW THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON PERIODICALLY! THE DEALERSHIP IS NOW SAYING THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE TIPM. THERE SEEMS TO BE A BACKORDER OF MORE THAN 400+ OF THESE COMPONENTS. EVERY WEEK THAT GOES BY, THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THE ETA HAS BEEN MOVED BACK A WEEK AND THEY WILL CALL ME WHEN IT GETS IN. TO THE DEALER'S CREDIT (AFTER I WENT A LITTLE CRAZY IN THE MANAGER'S OFFICE), THEY HAVE AGREED TO PAY FOR THE EST. COST OF $600. BUT, IN THE MEANTIME, IS THIS VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE? SHOULDN'T THERE BE A RECALL SINCE THERE ARE 400+ OF THESE PARTS ON BACKORDER? TODAY, I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD DOCUMENT THIS. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! AFTER INSISTING THAT SOMETHING ELSE BE DONE, I WAS TOLD THAT A SERVICE MANAGER WOULD BE CONTACTING ME TOMORROW. WE WILL SEE. IN THE MEANTIME.......I AM SOMEWHAT FEARFUL OF DRIVING MY JEEP FOR THE SIMPLE REASON OF THE UNKNOWN. NOT TO MENTION THE EMBARRASSMENT THAT THIS BRINGS WHEN STOPPED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION AND MY HORN AND WIPERS START BLARING UNCONTROLLABLY. WHEN I FILL THE GAS TANK IT WILL OVER FLOW AT THE FILLER NECK. WHEN THE FUEL PUMP CUTS OFF THERE IS AIR PRESSURE THAT WILL FORCE THE GAS OUT WHEN THE TANK IS FILLED. I HAVE USED DIFFERENT STATIONS WITH THE SAME RESULTS. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD.
I OWN A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER WHERE FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE FILLER PORT DURING THE REFUELING PROCESS. THIS CONDITION OCCURS WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS FILLED TO THE FULL OR NEARLY FULL LEVEL AND THE GAS PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OR CLICKS OFF. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME I FILL UP WITH GAS, AND EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS, A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GASOLINE IS SPLASHED ALL OVER THE DRIVER SIDE REAR CORNER OF THE VEHICLE, THE GROUND, AND SOMETIMES THE PERSON FILLING THE TANK. IT FIRST HAPPENED ROUGHLY 600 MILES AFTER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY EXPIRED, SO THE DEALERSHIP CURRENTLY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. *TR
I PUT IN A NEW BATTERY IN MY CAR AT THE DEALER AND IT CORRODED AGAIN. THEY TOLD ME THEY FORGOT TO SPRAY IT. I HAVE HAD CARS FOR 6 YEARS AND THE BATTERY NEVER CORRODED.I FEEL THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG SOMEPLACE AND THE DEALER IS NOT BEING HONEST WITH ME. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER X AND DURING REFUELING, OFTEN TIMES IT BEGINS TO OVERFLOW BEFORE THE PUMP WILL SHUT OFF. I HAD TO STOP TRYING TO ACTUALLY FILL UP, IT WOULD DO THIS WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO TOP OFF THE TANK. IT WOULD NOT CLICK OFF LIKE IT HAD WITH OTHER CARS I HAVE OWNED. *TR
THE CLOCK SPRING IN MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER WENT OUT IN OCTOBER, 2010. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT GETTING THE PART REPLACED. I THOUGHT THAT SINCE THE CLOCK SPRING IS THE PART RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THE AIRBAG DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT, IT WAS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE SERVICED FREE OF CHARGE, SINCE MY AIRBAGS WERE NOW RENDERED USELESS. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE WAS NO SUCH POLICY, SO I WAS FORCED TO PURCHASE A NEW CLOCK SPRING OUT OF POCKET. THE CLOCK SPRING WAS APPROXIMATELY $250 IN COST. I INSTALLED THE CLOCK SPRING MYSELF, AND I DISCARDED THE OLD ONE, THINKING I HAD NO USE FOR IT ANYMORE. *TR
PURCHASED THIS JEEP IN 2010. EVERY SINCE I PURCHASED IT, THE GAS SPILLS OUT FROM THE TANK WHEN I FILL IT UP, UNLESS I SQUEEZE THE GAS NOZZLE VERY SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY. WHEN THE GAS SPILLS OUT, IT GOES ON MY CLOTHING, THE JEEP, AND ONTO THE GROUND. THIS IS A HEALTH PROBLEM, A SAFETY ISSUE, AND AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE. JEEP SHOULD FIX THIS FOR FREE!!!
FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE FILLER PORT DURING THE REFUELING PROCESS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY WHEN THE JEEP IS RUNNING ON EMPTY AND I FILL IT UP COMPLETELY. I HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER JK 2DR SPORT 4X4. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH. THE SHAKING WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL THE CONTACT DECELERATED TO 30 MPH OR LOWER. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKES WOULD BECOME HESITANT AND THE FRONT WHEELS WOULD WOBBLE ABNORMALLY DURING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING USED AS A POSTAL DELIVERY VEHICLE AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AND AN ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED FOUR TIMES IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE FAILURE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME IT IS FILLED UP. THE AUTOMATIC SHUT DOES NOT WORK. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY SINGLE TIME NO MATTER WHICH GAS STATION OR WHAT TYPE OF GAS. HOLDING THE NOZZLE AT DIFFERENT ANGLES DOES NOT HELP. THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID THIS IS TO PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE NUMBER OF GALLONS OF GAS BEING PUT IN THE TANK. THIS IS A HAZARD AS GAS GETS EVERYWHERE, ESPECIALLY THE PERSON PUMPING THE GAS AND WILL LIKELY RUIN THE PAINT JOB; ALSO LEADS TO WASTED GASOLINE/MONEY.
