HORN/WIPERS/LIGHTS ALL COME ON AT ONCE. THIS HAS HAPPENED BOTH WITH THE CAR RUNNING AND WITH IT UNOCCUPIED AND NOT RUNNING
WHILE DRIVING MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER THE CLOCKSRPING MALFUNCTIONED AND BROKE WHILE GOING AROUND A TURN ON MY NEIGHBORHOOD STREET. MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND A SMALL RIBBON CAME OUT OF THE STEERING COLUMN. THIS ALSO DISABLED MY HORN. WHEN I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC HE ASKED ABOUT A RECALL ON THIS PART BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A COMMON ISSUE. I LOOKED AND SAW THAT THERE IN FACT WAS A RECALL ON THE RIGHT HANDED VEHICLES FOR 2008 BUT NOT LEFT HANDED DRIVE VEHICLES AS WELL AS 2007 JEEPS HAD THE RECALL. I AM HOPEFUL THAT THIS CAN ALSO BE RECALLED IN 2008 LEFT HAND DRIVE VEHICLES AS IT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT SHOULD GO BAD UNLESS YOUR VEHICLE IS LEFT IN THE RAIN DUST OR DIRTY ENVIRONMENTS, WHICH IS NOT HOW MY JEEP IS EVER STORED. I AM HAPPY THAT I WAS ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND THAT THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY!
ON THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH WAS A SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (WHITTEN BROTHERS JEEP IN RICHMOND VIRGINIA, 804-378-0707) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE SAME DEALER THREE TIMES FOR AN UNKNOWN AIR BAG RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 197,000.
MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN TURNING ON AND OFF WHEN I AM DRIVING THE JEEP. IT CHIMES EVERY TIME IT LIGHTS UP, THEN GOES OUT, THEN CHIMES AND LIGHTS UP AGAIN FAIRLY OFTEN.
WENT TO GO FILL UP THE JEEP, IT FILLED UP THE PUMP CLICKED THAT IT WAS DONE AND THEN IT VIOLENTLY OVERFLOWED COVERING ME AND MY PRECIOUS JEEP IN GASOLINE.
I PURCHASED A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER 2DR 4X4 FROM FREDERICO DODGE CHRYSLER IN WOODRIVER ILLINOIS ON 04/04/2016. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE WIN MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER. RED LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COMES ON AS WELL. I TOOK IT BACK AND GOT ISSUES WITH THEM AND WAS TOLD IT WAS REPLACED. THE RED LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS STILL COMING ON WHILE I AM DRIVING. (ELECTRICAL ISSUE). I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT I HAVE A REAR MAIN SEAL (ENGINE) THAT IS LEAKING AND TRANSMISSION COOLANT LINES LEAKING ( TRANSMISSION). I TOOK BACK TO THEM AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LEAK/SEEPAGE AND THAT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER MY 3000 MILE/3 MONTH (ENGINE/TRANSMISSION) WARRANTY. I HAVE ONLY OWNED NEW DODGE VEHICLES AND WAS TREATED WITH PROFESSIONALISM. I BOUGHT A USED VEHICLE WITH THE WARRANTY GIVEN AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS INSPECTED AND WAS TREATED LIKE MY PROBLEMS WERE NOT THERE PROBLEM. THIS COMPLAINT REFERS TO THE EXISTING AIR BAG CLOCKSPRING WIRING FAILURE BEING INVESTIGATED UNDER EA 15-007 AND PREVIOUSLY PE 15-025. IT IS ALSO CLOSELY RELATED TO SAFETY RECALL 11V258 WHICH INVOLVES THE SAME PART FAILURE. LIKE OTHER OWNERS OF MY 2007-2012 JEEP WRANGLERS THE CLOCKSPRING UNIT IN MY VEHICLE HAS INDICATED IT HAS FAILED WITH THE ABS ERROR CODE B1B02 - "DRIVER AIRBAG SQUIB 1 CIRCUIT OPEN". THE ISSUE HAPPENED SUDDENLY AND HAS PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 55,000 MILES AND DURING MY OWNERSHIP IT HAS NOT BEEN SUBMITTED TO EXTRANEOUS ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS. JEEP CUSTOMER CARE WAS NOTIFIED OF MY ISSUE (CASE # 29226734) BUT DID NOT PROVIDE OR OFFER REMEDY.
WE HAVE RECEIVED RECALLS FOR S-43, AND S-33 REFRENCING THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. WE RECEIVED THEM IN APRIL AND STILL HAVE NOT BEEN CALLED IN TO HAVE THE REPAIRS MADE. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REACH CHRYSLER VIA E-MAIL HAVE ONLY RESULTED IN GETTING MANY ADDS TO BUY CARS. I WANT THIS SAFETY PROBLEM RESOLVED IMMEDIATLY.
AIR BAG LIGHT AND AUDIBLE ALARM COMING ON, EVERY TIME I DROVE THE VEHICLE. I WAS WORRIED THE AIR BAG WOULD DEPLOY ACCIDENTALLY OR THAT IT WOULD NOT DEPLOY IF I HAD AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK TO DEALER IN THOMSON, GA.PAID $594 TO HAVE AIRBAG CLOCK SPING REPLACED.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING OFF ROAD ON SAND AND WHILE TURNING. DEALER INDICATED THE FIX WAS GOING TO COST OVER $500 DOLLARS. THEY INDICATED SOME FAULTY WIRING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT COASTED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND RESUMED DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING DAMPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
IN THREE SEPARATE INSTANCES WHEEL STUDS HAVE BUSTED OFF THE BACK TIRES. 1ST TIME ALL 5 BROKE. 2ND TIME - 2 BROKE AND THIS 3RD TIME - 1 BROKE. JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OF NO HELP WITH THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE TO PUT ON NEW STUDS AND LUGS EVERY TIME AND IF THE TIRE COMES FULLY OFF, THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. TWICE THE JEEP WAS IN MOTION WHEN IT HAPPENED AND ONCE WHILE DURING A TIRE ROTATION, TAKING OFF A LUG BY HAND THE WHEEL STUD SNAPPED IN HALF.
HEADLIGHTS CONTINUE TO GO OUT. DAUGHTER HAS TO DRIVE HOME WITH FOG LIGHTS. ENGINE FAN COMES ON AND OFF. TOOK TO JEEP THEY SAID IT WAS A SHORT AND IT WORKED FOR A MONTH, SAME THING. AFTER RESEARCH IT APPEARS THE TIPM IS BAD, LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ETC. ONLINE REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THE LIGHTS HAVE GONE OFF WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, AND CITY STREET AND ALSO AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED AT WORK ALL DAY. IT IS RANDOM. I HAVE TAPPED ON THE TIPM MODULE AND THEN TURNED ON THE LIGHTS AND THEY WORK AGAIN FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN GO OUT AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE DECEMBER 2015, THE LAST TIME WAS MARCH 5, 2016.
TURNED LEFT AND THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF. AND NOW CONTINUES TO GO OFF AND DING EVERY COUPLE OF MINUTES AS I AM DRIVING. SEEMS TO HAPPEN MOST OF THE TIME WHEN TURNING LEFT BUT TENDS TO HAPPEN WHEN TURNING RIGHT AS WELL.

CLOCK SPRING SELF-DESTRUCTED AT JUST OVER 45000 MILES. AIRBAG LIGHT IS NOW ON AND THE RIBBON CABLE IS UNWINDING OUT OF THE STEERING COLUMN. SAME ISSUE THAT WAS BEING REPORTED BY OWNERS AND HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR 2007 MODEL YEAR.
THE DEATH WOBBLE IS A NIGHTMARE. IT'S TERRIFYING, NOT OTHER WAY TO DESCRIBE IT. THE ENTIRE CAR SHAKES SO VIOLENTLY YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO STOP. IT HAPPENED ON BUSY HIGHWAY (NJ TURNPIKE) AND I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I HAD TO STOP THE JEEP WITH PEOPLE TRAVELLING AT SPEEDS OF 65MPH AND GREATER. I'VE CALLED DEALERSHIPS, THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. IT SOUNDS LIKE A WASTE OF MONEY FOR ME TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO FIX IT. WHY HAS THE JEEP WRANGLER NOT BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS REASON? IT'S OUTRAGEOUS FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THESE CARS COST.
SWAY BAR LIGHT WAS FLASHING, BROUGHT TO DEALER NEEDED NEW ELECTRONIC SWAY BAR DUE TO CORROSION. THIS IS ENCLOSED AND SHOULD HAVE NO CORROSION I WAS CONCERNED THAT MY JEEP MAY GO INTO A DEATH WOBBLE IF I DROVE OVER 18 MILES PER HOUR. MY JEEP HAS ONLY 40,000 MILES.I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFECT DUE TO COMPLAINTS I VIEWED ONLINE I NOT THE ONLY ONE SO ACTUATOR, STABILIZER BAR, WIRING CHASSIS, SCREW & RET PUSH CODE U1159 WAS SHOWING. POWER WIRE WAS CORRODED AND WEAK CLEANED & BENT PIN NEW WIRING HARNESS WAS NEEDED. AFTER 2260.00 I GOT MY JEEP BACK2

WHEN FUELING THE GAS PUMP ISN'T TRIGGERED TO SHUT OFF UNTIL GAS HAS ALREADY CAME OUT THE TOP OF THE FUELING NECK. THIS CAUSES GAS TO SPILL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND HAVE A GAS SPILL AT THE FUELING STATION. THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY STATION I FILL UP AT.

WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH VIOLENT SHAKING OF ENTIRE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. IT IS BRAKE OR STABILITY CONTROL RELATED. HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND START AGAIN FOR SHAKING TO STOP. ALSO HAVE HAD TO CHANGE BOTH FRONT CALIPERS DUE TO OVERHEAT DAMAGE. THE OVERHEAT IS A RESULT OF BRAKES APPLIED BY STABILITY CONTROL OR TRACTION CONTROL WHEN THERE IS NO NEED FOR EITHER.
TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES ARE LEAKING FLUID AT THE HOSE TO TUBE CRIMP JOINTS.CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID FOR MY VIN NUMBER THERE IS NO RECALL. ITS MY UNDERSTANDING THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2008-2009 JK AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LINES LEAK AT HOSE CRIMP JONTS FORFOR CERTAIN MANUFACTURING MONTHS IN THOSE YEARS BUT NOT IN MINE IT WASBUILT IN JANUARY2008.CHRYSLER WINN NOT ASSIST IN COST OR REPACEMENT.ITS OUT OF WARRANTY AND ONLY HAS 40,503 MILES ON IT.
TO DATE THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IN A YEAR I HAVE PARKED MY JEEP GOT OUT KEY IN HAND AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON MY HORN AND WIPERS HAVE GONE CRAZY HAD TO PULL BATTERY TERMINALS TO GET IT TO STOP AND NOW WILL NOT START BACK
THE AIRBAG LIGHT OF MY 2008 JEEP WRANGER INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON DURING DRIVING AND THE HORN DOESN'T WORK. LIKELY A BAD CLOCKSPRING.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE CLOCK SPRING IS WHAT IS CAUSING IT. THIS SAME PART HAS BEEN RECALLED ON THE RHD VEHICLE BUT NOT THE LHD. IVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS COULD CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. I ALSO SEE THIS IS BECOMING A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS YEAR MODEL
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V290000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that MOPAR was contacted regarding parts availability and the contact was informed that approval had not been granted to distribute the parts for the repair through the parts hub. The failure mileage was 111,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR STARTED DISPLAYING ISSUES WITH THE AIR BAG. THE DASH IS INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAYING A AIRBAG LIGHT. THIS CONTINUALLY TURNS ON AND OFF. I HAVE RESEARCHED SOLUTIONS FOR THIS AND LEARNED THAT JEEP WRANGLER 2007 HAS RECALLED THIS SPECIFIC PART BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE REGARDING SUBSEQUENT YEARS. I FEAR THAT THIS MAY POSE A SAFETY CONCERN AS IT IS A DIRECT ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG.
TAKATA RECALL: JEEP BUILT JAN. 24, 2008, AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR - HORN HAS ALWAYS BEEN SPOTTY BUT ALWAYS LUCKY AT INSPECTION UNTIL RECENTLY. SO, AIRBAG LIGHT DINGING/ON AND NOW HORN NOT WORKING DUE TO CLOCKSPRING. RECALL RESEARCH SHOWED TO BE ELIGIBLE ITEM BUT DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER RECALL 800 # FOLKS SAID THIS JEEP DIDN'T QUALIFY. DAMAGE WILL BE GETTING CLOCKSPRING REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP FOR MORE THAN $500.
CLOCKSPRING WIRING IN THE LHD SIDE AIR BAG CIRCUIT FAILED CAUSING AIRBAG INDICATOR TO TURN ON. PAID AROUND $700 TAX TO HAVE THIS DEFECTIVE PART REPLACED (((
MY KIDS AND I WAS DRIVING IN MY 2008 JEEP RUBBICON 4 WHEEL DRIVE OFF ROAD VEHICLE ON MY LAND WHEN MY JEEP CAUGHT FIRE CAUSING A TOTAL LOSS AND CAUSING OTHER DAMAGES LIKE BURNING MY FIELD UP AND FOUR WHEELER ..I CALLED 911 TO COME ARRIVED 8 MIN LATER AND PUT THE JEEP OUT ALONG WITH THE FIELD AND ATV ..THEY MADE REPORT ON THE DAMAGES JEEP STILL REMAINS IN FIELD AT THIS TIME.
I HAVE NO SAFETY HORN, NO AIRBAGS, NO CRUISE CONTROL AND TIRE PRESURE MONITORE GIVES FAULTY READING. ALL BECAUSE OF AND DUE TO A BAD CLOCK SPRING UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL.
VEHICLE WHEN PARKED AND / OR WHILE DRIVING WILL START BLARING THE HORN, SPRAYING WIPER FLUID, WIPERS ENGAGE, LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF / THEN OFF AND THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT STOP IS TO BATTERY OR GIVE THE TIPM AN EASY TAP ON THE TOP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALER AND THEY WANT TO START REPLACING ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS STARTING WITH THE CHEAP ONE AT 350.00. THIS STARTED HAPPENING AT AROUND 40K MILES AND AT THE TIME THERE WERE NOT ANY MODIFICATIONS ON THE JEEP. WHILE DRIVING HOME LAST NIGHT DURING A SNOW STORM AT APPROX. 50 MPH THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE LIGHTS STARTED GOING ON AND OFF. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER AND STOP. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE ENGINE BUT IT WOULD NOT (THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO FLICKER ON AND OFF SPORADICALLY, THEY FINALLY STOPPED AFTER I TURNED THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON. I TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND IT STARTED BUT THE LIGHTS STARTED THEIR ON AND OFF DANCE AGAIN SO I WENT THROUGH THE PROCESS OF SHUTTING IT OFF AND MANAGED TO GET THE LIGHT TO STOP BY TURNING THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS OFF THEN ON AGAIN. AFTER APPROX. 15 TO 20 MINUTE I TRIED A RESTART AND IT STARTED WITH NO SYMPTOM'S SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V176000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,039.
RANDOMLY WON'T START. TURN THE KEY AND NOTHING HAPPENS. TRY 2ND OR THIRD TRY, THEN IT'S STARTS. HAVE REPLACE BATTERY, STARTER, TESTED ALTERNATOR , IGNITION, RPM MODULE BOX AND THE FUSE BOX MODULE.CAR DEALER CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN PLAGUING MANY JEEP OWNERS. IN 2009 MY TIPM FAILED AND I EXPERIENCED THE 'POSSESSED JEEP' CONDITION WHERE EVERYTHING TURNED ON (LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, HORN, RADIO BLASTING WITH NO DISPLAY). I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE (UNDER 5 YEAR WARRANTY). IN 2012 MY REAR BRAKE CALIPERS SEIZED ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE, THEY WERE GLOWING CHERRY-RED AFTER A 1 HOUR COMMUTE INTO WORK, PERFECT TO START A FIRE IF I HAD PULLED INTO A GAS STATION WITH SOME GAS SPILLED ON THE GROUND OR SOMETHING. I GOT AFTER-MARKET CALIPERS BECAUSE THE GUY AT AUTO ZONE SAID THAT HE HAD SEVERAL CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE THAT REPLACED IT WITH FACTORY CALIPERS AND THEY FAILED WITHIN 40000 MILES, THEY WENT WITH AFTER-MARKET CALIPERS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM, I HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM SINCE MYSELF. WELL NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN MY HORN, FRONT PASSENGER PARKING LAMP/TURN SIGNAL STOPPED WORKING. THERE ARE NO BLOWN FUSES OR UNHOOKED WIRES, EVERYTHING IS STOCK (I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW). AT THIS SAME TIME, MY PASSENGER SEAT KEEPS COMING UNLATCHED AND FLYING FORWARD AND BACK (AS IF SOMEONE WERE TRYING TO ENTER THE BACK SEAT). I CAN PUSH THE SEAT BACK INTO POSITION, BUT IT WILL FLY FORWARD ALL BY ITSELF AT RANDOM. THIS STARTED IMMEDIATELY WITH THE HORN AND PASSENGER PARKING LAMP ISSUE. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND PRESENTS A CHOKING HAZARD, ESPECIALLY IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT WITH THE SEAT BELT FASTENED. SINCE THE HORN HAS STOPPED WORKING, I AM CONCERNED THAT MY AIR-BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY (CLOCK-SPRING ISSUE) OR IF IT IS THAT TIPM AGAIN. I DON'T THINK I SHOULD NEED TO PAY FOR YET ANOTHER TIPM THIS SHOULD BE COVERED FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE SINCE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
DEATH WOBBLE, 50+ MPH, MINOR BUMP VIOLENT FRONT END SHAKING, UNABLE TO STEER OR BRAKE. COAST UNTIL NEAR STOP AND THEN CONTINUE AS IF NOTHING HAPPEN. TO BE ON SAFE SIDE REPLACED ENTIRE FRONT END WITH QUALITY PARTS AS NO PART TESTED BAD BUT REPLACEMENT PARTS USA MADE WERE BETTER QUALITY THAN ORIGINAL. STOCK 45K VEHICLE. COMBINATION OF POOR DESIGN WITH SLIGHT WEAR. ANY COMBINATION SOONER OR LATER IS GOING TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. RESEARCH SHOWS THIS HAPPENS OFTEN WITH NO ACTUAL RECOURSE, IT WAS EXPENSIVE BUT SAFEST RECOURSE. NOT SURE WHY THIS HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESS BY MANUFACTURE AS ONLINE VIDEO'S ARE ACCURATE. REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS SEIZED UP AND FRONT PASSENGER IS STARTING. CAR VIOLENTLY WOBBLES AS 55MPH!
AN UNSAFE CONDITION IS CREATED UPON COMPLETION OF REFUELING. AFTER PUMP CUT-OFF FUEL SPILLAGE OCCURS ON EVERY REFUELING OPERATION. THIS CONDITION IS UNAFFECTED BY CHANGING SPEED AT WHICH REFUELING IS PERFORMED. THIS IS NOT DUE TO "TOPPING OFF," REGARDLESS OF PUMP SPEED, ON FIRST PUMP CUT-OFF SPILLAGE OCCURS. THIS CONSTITUTES WASTED MONEY AND CREATES A PERSONAL SAFETY HAZARD AS WELL AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON EVERY FILL-UP FOR THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS, MOST RECENTLY TODAY, 29 NOVEMBER 2015.
CAR PARKED AND STATIONARY AT HOME. OPENED THE REAR DOOR (WITH KEYS IN HAND, NOT IN IGNITION) AND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED GOING AND THE RUNNING LIGHTS CAME ON. AFTER 1-2 MINUTES THE HORN STARTED BLOWING AND THE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR CAME ON. PUTTING THE KEY IN IGNITION OR NOT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. PULLED THE POSITIVE TERMINAL OFF OF THE BATTERY AND EVERYTHING STOPPED. RECONNECTED THE POSITIVE TERMINAL AND NOTHING UNUSUAL HAPPENED. TRIED STARTING THE CAR TO TEST AND THE KEY ACTIVATED THE DASH BUT WOULD NOT START THE ENGINE BUT NORMAL DASH LIGHTS CAME ON. WHILE TRYING DIFFERENT THINGS (SHIFT TO NEUTRAL, PARK, ON, OFF, ETC) THE WIPERS (FRONT AND REAR), BLOWER, RUNNING LIGHTS AND HORN ALL CAME BACK ON AND THE ENGINE STARTED WITHOUT TURNING THE KEY FROM RUN TO START. WIPERS AND BLOWER SPEED CHANGED WITHOUT TOUCHING ANY CONTROLS. BLOWER SPEED COULD BE CHANGED THROUGH SWITCH, BUT WHEN BLOWER SWITCH TURNED TO OFF, BLOWER WENT TO HIGH SPEED. PULLED POSITIVE TERMINAL AND NEGATIVE TERMINALS FROM BATTERY WITH NO CHANGE ' EVERYTHING STILL RUNNING. HAD TO PULL WIRES OFF THE ALTERNATOR TO STOP EVERYTHING. THE HEATER BLOWER HAD STOPPED ON THIS VEHICLE A YEAR OR SO AGO AND AFTER TESTING AND REPLACING ALL BLOWER PARTS WITH NEW PARTS IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIPM WAS AT FAULT. TIPM HAS NOT YET BEEN REPLACED (BUT WILL BE). IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN MOTION, IT WOULD HAVE (AT THE VERY LEAST) PANICKED THE DRIVER. I AM GOING TO RECONNECT THE BATTERY AND ATTEMPT TO VIDEO THE RESULTS.

THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2007-2012 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THE FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE A SAFELY CONCERN DUE TO A POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2009 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT.
