HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. TIPM. TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. A QUICK SEARCH AND IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET OF BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. $1000 REPAIR.
BREAKS: WHEN THE JEEP IS OFF THE PEDAL WILL PUMP UP WITH PRESSURE BUT WHEN IM DRIVING THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR IF I JUST PRESS IT ONE TIME.
TAKATA RECALL - PLUS OTHER ITEMS.JEEP REFUSED TO FIX MY JEEP WITHOUT STANDING RECALL NOTICES. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND HAD ALL DATA VERIFIED OF THE OUTSTANDING ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED BACK TO CONFIRM MILEAGE. MY APPOINTMENT WAS TODAY 06/25/2018 AT PLAZA JEEP IN INVERNESS, FL - I DROPPED THE VEHICLE OFF AND WHEN I RETURNED TO PICK IT UP; ONLY 1 OF 6 RECALLS WERE ADDRESSED. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEED TO NOW ORDER PARTS THAT THE ONES ASSIGNED TO MY VEHICLE HAD BEEN USED OR GONE. CALL CHRYSLER AND THEY ADVISED THAT I COULD COME BACK BUT PARTS MAY NOT BE THERE. HOW CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND CONFIRM PARTS AND YET THEY REFUSE TO COMPLETE THE WORK. I AM TOLD THAT I MAY MAKE SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS TO GET THESE DONE. I NEED HELP AND CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP TAKING DAYS OFF AND HOPE THEY HAVE NOT USED THE PARTS ASSIGNED TO ME.
WHEN FUELING TO FULL, THE TANK ALMOST ALWAYS OVERFILLS, THE SAFETY SWITCH ON THE GAS PUMP DOES NOT TRIP (NO MATTER WHAT STATION I USE). I MUST MONITOR IT CLOSELY AND GUESS HOW MUCH FUEL I NEED AND STOP THE PUMP EARLY.
MY VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WITH FUEL SPILLING OUT OF THE TANK AND ON TO THE GROUND EACH TIME I FILL UP. I DO NOT TOP OFF THE TANK NOR DO I USE THE FASTEST SETTING ON THE PUMP TO DELIVER THE FUEL. IT IS KNOWN ISSUE BY THE MANUFACTURER AND A WARRANTY BULLETIN HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS. THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALERSHIPS TAKE RESPONSIBLE ACTION ON REPAIRING THE SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE. THEY INSTEAD ASK CONSUMERS TO FRONT THE COSTS AND SAVE RECEIPTS IN THE EVENT A RECALL IS ISSUED IN THE FUTURE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. I AM WRITING THIS HOPES THAT YOUR AGENCY WILL INVESTIGATE AND ISSUE THE RECALL IF NECESSARY SO THIS PROBLEM CAN BE FIXED.
USING FUEL PUMP AUTO SHUT OFF RESULTS IN TANK OVERFILLING
IGNITION SWITCH. I PUT KEY IN IGNITION AND AT TIMES WILL NOT START VEHICLE. ONCE I JIGGLE THE KEYS IT STARTS.
EVERY TIME I FILL MY GAS TANK, I SPILL A LOT OF GAS OUT THE FILL NECK. IT OCCURS NO MATTER HOW SLOW OR FAST I FILL. IT SPIT GAS OUT ALMOST LIKE IT'S BURPING. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM.
THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON MY 2010 WRANGLER DOES NOT HOLD THE VEHICLE ON ANY SORT OF INCLINE. THE VIRGINIA CODE FOR A PARKING/ EMERGENCY BRAKE STATES THAT IT MUST STALL THE VEHICLE IN 2ND GEAR (IT DOES) BUT THE BRAKE WILL NOT MAINTAIN THE POSITION OF THE VEHICLE ON THE SLIGHTEST INCLINE. I'M CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY ROLL AWAY INTO THE ROAD AND CAUSE HARM TO OTHERS. FURTHERMORE, IF I WERE TO BE IN THE VEHICLE THEN I MAY BECOME TRAPPED WITH IT ROLLING IN TO TRAFFIC. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ON THE EARLY 2007-2017 BODY STYLE WRANGLER AND NEEDS ATTENTION BEFORE IT CAUSES SERIOUS HARM.
AIR BAG LIGHT TURNS ON INTERMITTENTLY DURING VEHICLE OPERATION, MEANING THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IF THERE'S A COLLISION. SUSPECTED COMPONENT FAILURE IS THE CLOCKSPRING. THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS ON OTHER YEARS OF JEEP WRANGLERS FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT NOT 2010 TO MY KNOWLEDGE.
HEATER CORE FAILED THREE TIMES FIRST TIME CORE FAILED WINDSHIELD WAS COVERED IN HOT ANTIFREEZE . SECOND HEATER CORE LASTED ONE YEAR LEAKING OUT ONTO RUG AND FILLING HEATER BOX WIN ANTIFREEZE . THIRD TIME CORE FAILED IT SPRAYED SCALDING HOT ANTIFREEZE ON MY 10 TEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS LEG. THIRD HEATER CORE WAS ONLY SEVEN MONTHS OLD.ALL OF THE HEATER CORE WERE OWN SUPPLIED FROM JEEP ,THEY ARE MADE OFF A VERY CHEAP ALUMINUM AND EITHER CRACK OR LEAK INTHE SAME SPOT. THIS VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR AS THE FRONT SEAT ,DASHBOARD. AIR CONDITIONING AND ELECTRICAL HARNESS HAS TO BE REMOVED . JEEP DEALERS CHARGE BETWEEN 1800.00 TO 2300.00 TO DO THIS REPAIR. AT PRESENT TIME I WILL BE PAYING 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS TO HAVE THIS REPAIR DONE . AT ALL TIMES THIS FAILURE OCCURRED THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AND BEING DRIVEN .TWO OFTHE FAILURES OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEED CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WERE VEHICLE HAD TO DRIVEN WITH ANTIFREEZE SPRAYING ON WINDSHIELD. AND PASSAGER SIDE FLOOR UNTIL I COULD GET VEHICLE OFF TO SIDE OF ROAD . IF MY DAUGHTER DID NOT HAVE ON LONG PANT AND HIGH BOOTS SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY BURNED
GASOLINE SPLASHES BACK WHEN TANK GETS REFUELED WHILE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AT THE PUMP. I'VE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE SINCE AT LEAST MARCH OF 2018. MY MECHANIC SUGGESTS THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED AS A DEFECT NECESSITATING A RECALL. GOOGLE SEARCH INFORMS THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON AND ONGOING PROBLEM FOR OTHER WRANGLER OWNERS AS WELL. YOU'LL FIND VIDEO'S POSTED BY OTHERS ON YOUTUBE.
WHEN I FILL MY TANK AND THE NOZZLE SHUTS OFF A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GAS SPEWS OUT OF THE FILL HOLE
SPORATIC UNCONTROLLABLE SHAKING WHILE DRIVING. ONLY STOPS WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN TO AROUND 20MPH. I GOOGLED IT AND IT'S KNOWN AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" AND IS VERY PREVALENT PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT NEEDS NEW STEERING STABILIZER. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS.
WHEN FILLING GAS TANK GAS THE CAR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THAT IT IS FULL IN TIME CAUSING GAS TO OVERFLOW AND SPILL ON THE GROUND. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK IN MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA IT OVERFLOWS POURING GAS BACK OUT OF THE FILLER ONCE THE PUMP HAS STOPPED. DID SOME RESEARCH AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM.
WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF, BLINKERS WILL NOT WORK, DASH BOARD LIGHTS FLASH, VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING DUE TO FUEL RELAY NOT WORKING.
MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY REFUSED TO TURN OFF. YOU MUST REMOVE THE FUSE OR DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR THE WIPERS TO STOP. WAS INFORMED BY DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS A FAULTY TIPM. THE TIPM IS THE ELECTRICAL BRAINS OF THE VEHICLE. CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF THIS FAULTY PART AND HAVE RECALLED CERTAIN VEHICLES BUT DENIED THE PETITION TO RECALL THE PART IN THE 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. IT'S DISAPPOINTING THAT THE COMPANY REFUSES TO STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX WHAT THEY KNOW TO BE FAULTY. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED A $1200.00 PRICE TO FIX THE TIPM.
EVERY TIME ADDING FUEL BLOWBACK OCCURS SPRAYING FUEL OVER THE CAR AND 2-3 FEET PROXIMITY. THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL FOR THIS FOR MODEL YEAR 2007-2008
FUEL FILLER OVERFLOWS FUEL DURING VEHICLE FUELING. THIS OCCURS WHEN FILLING TANK UNTIL PUMP CLICKS OFF FOR THE FIRST TIME.
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SPORT. EVERY TIME I FILL UP THAT GAS TANK IT OVER FLOWS. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE IN ANY OTHER CAR I'VE OWNED. I GO TO THE GAS STATION TO FILL UP MY TANK AND I SIT IN MY CAR WHILE IT FILLS UP AND WHEN IT'S FULL I GET OUT OF MY CAR AND EVERY TIME THERE IS GAS ALL OVER MY JEEP AND ON THE GROUND AS WELL. I ASKED AROUND AND MANY OTHER JEEP OWNERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN AND HOW IT CAN BE FIXED. I WON'T EVEN GET OUT OF MY CAR UNTIL MY TANK IS FULL BECAUSE IT SPRAY EVERYWHERE. PLEASE SOMEONE FIX THIS ISSUE WE ARE HAVING
I HAVE WHAT IS KNOWN AS A 'DEATH WOBBLE' AT ANY TIME MY JEEP GOES INTO A SEVERE WOBBLE OF THE FRONT AXLE AND STEERING. I WAS IN 3RD GEAR GOING 30 MPH SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP SIGN, WHEN THE JEEP WENT INTO THE 'DEATH WOBBLE'. IT IS SO SEVERE IT FEELS LIKE THE FRONT END IS GOING TO BREAK APART. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS IS TO TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS AND PUT THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME NOT TO EVER PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, BECAUSE THAT CAN CAUSE EVEN MORE DAMAGE. MY MECHANIC AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY JEEP DOESN'T WANT TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE OF SAFETY. JEEP JUST TOLD ME THAT YES THEY HAVE HEARD OF THIS COMPLAINT BUT THEY USUALLY KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. BUT IT WILL COST ME A LOT OF MONEY. I FEEL THEY SHOULD BE ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE AS WHAT IT TRULY IS "A SAFETY ISSUE"
GAS TANK TAKES FOREVER TO FILL, CLICKS EVERY .25 GAL OR LESS AND HAVE TO START REFUELING ALL OVER AGAIN TILL FULL, ALSO ALMOST ALWAYS WILL OVERFILL. SPOKE TO MANY JEEP OWNERS AND THIS IS COMMON ISSUE WITH JEEPS. LOOK AT MESSAGE BOARDS JEEP SEEMS AWARE OF ISSUES BUT THEY DON'T FIX ISSUE. ALWAYS FUEL FLAT SURFACE AT GAS STATIONS AND THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY GAS STATION PUMP I'VE TRIED.
FUELING CUT-OFF IS NOT FUNCTIONING. NO MATTER WHAT FUEL STATION I USE THE VEHICLE FUEL SPITS OUT OF THE FUEL TANK OPENING. I HAVE WENT TO PUMPING MANUALLY AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE AND THE OPENING STILL SPITS FUEL OUT ONCE TANK IS FULL. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR THE LAST YEAR. IN THE BEGINNING, I COULD SLOW THE FLOW AND IT WOULD KICK OFF WITHOUT MESS, BUT NOW NO MATTER HOW SLOW IT FLOWS IT SPITS FUEL OUT ONTO THE GROUND. THE DATE BELOW IS THE LATEST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED.
EXHAUST MANIFOLDS CRACKS LETTING FUMES INTO VEHICLE
I HAVE HAD MY JEEP FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS NOW, AND WITHIN THE LAST MONTH, IT BEGAN SPEWING EXCESS GAS FOR A SECOND OR TWO EVEN AFTER IT WAS DONE FUELING. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING DIFFERENT TO MY CAR, NOR HAVE I BEEN FUELING AT JUST ONE GAS STATION. MULTIPLE STATIONS HAVE PRODUCED THE SAME RESULT. I AM VERY AFRAID BECAUSE THE AMOUNT OF GAS COULD POTENTIALLY BE HAZARDOUS.
FUEL SPILLS OUT WHEN REFUELING VEHICLE. NOZZLE AUTO SHUTS OFF THEN FUEL SPURTS OUT. NO IDEA WHY, HAVE NOT CHANGED TYPE OF FUEL BEING USED ALTHOUGH IT IS NOW WINTER IN SPOKANE SO THE FORMULATION MAY HAVE CHANGED, DON'T KNOW. IT IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
1) DOORS ARE SUPPOSED TO LOCK WHEN VEHICLE GETS TO A CERTAIN SPEED BUT THE DRIVER SIDE NO LONGER LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY. 2) WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE AUTOMATIC GEAR SLIPPED INTO DRIVE AND SMASHED INTO A WALL AND TOTALLY SHUT DOWN. THE JEEP HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER AS THE AUTOMATIC GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE AND THE JEEP WOULD NOT START. THE JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP FOR 3 DAYS AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE JEEP.
KEY FOB WORKS INTERMITTENTLY, CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN FOR VEHICLE ACCESS.
SINCE I PURCHASED MY JEEP IT HAS HAD A FUEL OVERFLOW ISSUE WHERE FUEL GUSHES OUT OF THE GAS TANK ONCE FILLED TO CAPACITY. I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO NOT FILL TO CAPACITY TO AVOID THE ISSUE. I AM REPORTING THIS ISSUE NOW BECAUSE I AM HAVING MY JEEP SERVICES FOR OTHER RECALL NOTICES AND WAS SURPRISED THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ALREADY IN PLACE FOR THIS HAZARD.
EVERY TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK, GAS SPLASHES BACK ONTO THE PAVEMENT (OR MY CLOTHING IF I AM STANDING NEAR THE FILL PIPE). THIS IS A WELL KNOWN, AND DANGEROUS, PROBLEM THAT JEEP OWNERS ARE AWARE OF (PER THE ON-LINE FORUMS). I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL OR SERVICE BULLETIN RELATED TO EARLIER MODELS OF JEEP WRANGLERS. TWO DEALERS I WENT TO DENY ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH 2010 WRANGLERS. ON-LINE FORUMS INDICATE THAT THIS IS A CONTINUING PROBLEM ON NEWER WRANGLERS AND THAT DEALERS ARE CHARGING $200 - $600 TO FIX THE PROBLEM WHEN A SIMPLE SOLUTION FOR MANY OWNERS HAS BEEN TO PERSONALLY INSTALL PART CNNNX321AC ($40.00) WHICH IS A REPLACEMENT FUEL FILL TUBE THAT HAS SOME SORT OF MECHANISM IN IT TO PREVENT SPLASH BACK. I INSTALLED THIS PART AND IT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERS I WENT TO SAID THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THIS FIX. I THINK THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD BE PAYING FOR THIS FIX. INSTEAD THEY ARE DENYING THAT THERE CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM ON THE NEWER VEHICLES. I CAN'T EMPHASIZE ENOUGH HOW DANGEROUS THIS PROBLEM IS.
TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES ON 2010 JEEP JK LEAKING FLUID AT HOSE-TO-TUBE CRIMP JOINT. 2008 AND 2009 JEEP WRANGLE'S ARE ALREADY BEING COVERED UNDER CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION L05 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES
GAS OVER FLOWS WHEN FUELING AND SPILLS ALL OVER PERSON WHO IS PUMPING GAS
THERE HAS STILL BEEN NO REMEDY TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG WHICH CAN EXPLODE UNDER EXTREME HUMIDITY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH INTO A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE ALTERNATOR STARTED TO SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY AND DESTROYED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND THE COMPUTER. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 99,600.
TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR A YEARLY INSPECTION AND GARAGE TOLD ME THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LINES RUBBING ON THE TIRES WHEN THE WHEELS WERE TURNED ALL THE WAY. MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE WEAR AND ASKED IF I PUT ANY AFTER MARKET PARTS ON THE VIHICLE. I CONFIRMED EVERYTHING WAS STOCK. TOLD ME THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BEING THIS WAS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM WHERE THE BRAKE LINES WERE ROUTED TOO CLOSE TO THE TIRES AND ALMOST WORE THROUGH THE BRAKE LINES. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE LINES REROUTED AND NO RECALLS WERE ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM. DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON SEVERAL JEEP FORUMS. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH PROBLEMS.
TIPM ISSUES. THE HEADLIGHTS WILL RANDOMLY FLASH 3-5 TIMES EQUAL IN LENGTH AND THEN SHUT OFF COMPLETELY WILL NOT RESET EVEN IF JEEP IS TURNED OFF AN TURNED BACK ON. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE LIGHTS CAN RANDOMLY BEING TO FLASH AN THEN SHUT OFF.
TAKATA RECALL WHEN AT A STOP AND IN FIRST GEAR, WHEN I PROCEED TO GO FORWARD THE GEAR WILL POP OUT OF 1ST INTO NEUTRAL. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. SPORADIC.
AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET I CAM ACROSS THE ACRONYM OF THE ISSUE. WHAT HAPPENED IS EXACTLY DESCRIBED IN THIS ARTICLE AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE." HTTP://ABC7NEWS.COM/ARCHIVE/8547340/ THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE I'M DRIVING AT AN AVERAGE SPEED OR HIGH SPEED. IF I HIT A DIP OR TURN AT A AVERAGE TO HIGH SPEED MY JEEP SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY. TODAY I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE 60 EASTBOUND IN THE HIGH SPEED LANE GOING THE SPEED LIMIT (CRUISE CONTROL). MY JEEP HIT A DIP AND SHOOK SO UNCONTROLLABLY I ALMOST HAD TO DO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE FREEWAY. I TRIED THE BEST I COULD TO MERGE TO THE SLOW SPEED LANE TO POSSIBLY EXIT THE FREEWAY. A FEW VEHICLES WERE BEHIND ME WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND IT ALMOST CAUSED A SEVERE ACCIDENT. IT LITERALLY FEELS LIKE THE AXEL IS GOING TO SNAP IN HALF OR THE VEHICLE MAY EVEN FLIP IF THE SHAKING WERE TO CONTINUE. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHAKING LIKE THIS THE ONLY WAY I'VE EXPERIENCED FOR IT TO STOP IS QUICKLY SLOWING DOWN ALMOST TO A COMPLETE STOP. IF I SLOW DOWN SLOWLY IT STILL SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY SO MUCH SO THAT IT PUTS ME IN THE OTHER LANE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND CAN MOST DEFINITELY KILL SOMEONE. THIS HAPPENED TODAY AT LEAST 3 TIMES. I THEN FINALLY PUT MY VEHICLE IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AT 2H WHILE DRIVING FEARING IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, MY AXEL MAY BREAK; OR WORSE MY LIFE TAKEN. BEFORE THIS INCIDENT I'D SAY IT'S HAPPENED EVERY NOW AND THEN. APPROX. ONCE EVERY 3-6 MONTHS SINCE I GOT THE VEHICLE. I ALSO HAVE MY TIRES ROTATED EVERY TIME I GET MY OIL CHANGED AT 3,000 MILES. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING
AFTER AIRBAG RECALL SERVICE, THE HORN STOPPED WORKING AND THE DEALER DIAGNOSIS IS THE TIPM MODULE.

I HAVE A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA. MY WRANGLER AS A DEFECT ON THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING IT TO VIOLENTLY POP OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE (EVERY SINGLE TIME). LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE, I HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS VERY COMMON WITH THE 2010 MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS, YET THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ISSUED REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION- EVEN THOUGH IT CAN BE DANGEROUS. BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT, I HAVE TO START MY JEEP IN SECOND GEAR CAUSING EXTRA WEAR AND TEAR ON MY CLUTCH. ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, IN ORDER TO FIX THE ISSUE, I WILL HAVE TO EITHER COMPLETELY REBUILD MY TRANSMISSION OR GET A NEW ONE (IN THE TSB THAT CHRYSLER PUT OUT REGARDING THE ISSUE, ONLY THE 1-2 SYNCHRONIZER ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO REPAIR THE ISSUE.) IT IS ABSURD THAT CHRYSLER HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS ISSUE, YET A RECALL HAS STILL NOT BEEN ISSUED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 68 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOTIFIED (CAMACHO AUTO SALES INC, 1358 E PALMDALE BLVD, PALMDALE, CA 93550 (661) 449-8600). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SURRENDERED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT SOMEONE WAS INVESTIGATING AND WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.

DEFECTIVE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). I DISCOVERED MY CAR HAS PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHT (WHICH INTERMITTENTLY ON AND OFF) WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE FROM HOME AT NIGHT. THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME $1757.57 FOR REPAIRING BY REPLACING THE TIPM WHICH HAS A HISTORY OF DEFECTIVE ON MILLIONS OF CARS MADE BY CHRYSLER. IT'S DON'T MAKE SENSE!
WHILE DRIVING APPROX. 10 MPH MY JEEP STARTED SMOKING IN THE CAB. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE CAR, JUMPED OUT AND ALREADY THERE WERE FLAMES COMING FROM THE ENGINE. MY ENTIRE...I MEAN ENTIRE JEEP BURNED WITHIN A FEW MINUTES. NOTHING BUT A SHELL LEFT. WHAT HAPPENED? IT WAS SO SCARY!
ON 5/12/17 MY WIFE LEFT FOR WORK ABOUT 7:20 AM, ABOUT 20 MIN. LATER SHE CAME BACK IN OUR HOME AND SAID THE JEEP WENT CRAZY, SHE EXPLAINED ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN OUR DRIVE WAY WHICH IS ABOUT A 1/4 OF A MILE, THE WIPERS SPEEDED UP ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE GAUGE CLUSTER LIT UP,A CONSTANT NOISE LIKE A SMOKE ALARM STARTED AND LASTED FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN THE WIPERS WERE GOING REAL SLOW AND JUMPING, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD ON THE LEFT SIDE. SHE SWITCHED OFF THE JEEP AND ALL THE CLUSTER LIGHTS STAYED ON. I WENT TO THE JEEP THE CLUSTER LIGHTS WERE STILL ON, I OPEN THE HOOD AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND REMOVED THE FUSE BOX COVER, THERE WERE MELTED FUSES IN THE BOX AND I COULD SEE SOME MELTED WIRES UNDER THE FUSE BOX. I CALLED A LOCAL BODY SHOP TO COME AND PICK UP OUR JEEP. I CALLED MY INSURANCE AND FILLED A CLAIM. SINCE THERE WAS NO FIRE WE HAD NO CLAIM. I RENTED A TOW DOLLY AND TOOK IT TO STATELINE DODGE IN FORT MILL, S.C. I DECIDED TO CALL JEEP FOR HELP. THEY SENT SOMEONE FROM ENGINEERING ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE WHAT HAPPEN. I DON'T REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT HE TOLD ME IT WAS A MASSIVE TIPM FAILURE. JEEP SENT ME A LETTER SAYING IT WAS NOT A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND WOULD NOT HELP US OUR JEEP HAS ONLY ABOUT 67000 MILES ON IT. I WAS RETURNING HOME FROM THE GROCERY STORE AND WAS DRIVING ON A PAVED CITY STREET WITH NO POTHOLES, SPEED-BUMPS, OR OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS. AS I MADE A LEFT TURN INTO OUR DRIVEWAY I HEARD A NOISE AND THEN SUDDENLY THE JEEP TURNED HARD RIGHT AND I HIT ANOTHER CARE PARKED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF OUR DRIVEWAY. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING. UPON INSPECTION, I NOTICED THAT THE STUD COMING FROM THE STEERING GEAR BOX HAD SHEARED IN HALF BETWEEN THE STEERING GEAR BOX AND THE PITMAN ARM. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I DID THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. ALSO, THIS JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID I NEED TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE.
S33 RECALL WAS ESTABLISHED IN MAY 2016, BUT ALL THE DEALERS I CONTACT STATE THAT THE RECALL PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. MY JEEP WAS INSPECTED BY A JEEP DEALER, BUT NO PARTS AVAILABLE. MEANWHILE, MY DAUGHTER STILL DRIVES THIS JEEP WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY BE UNSAFE. I WANT MY JEEP FIXED UNDER RECALL S33, BUT WITHOUT THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDING PARTS TO COMPLETE THE RECALL, I AM LEFT DRIVING A POTENTIALLY UNSAFE VEHICLE DUE TO THE AIR BAG CLOCKSPRING DEFECT.
TAKATA RECALL: MARCH 2017 WE RECEIVED NOTICE FROM FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES DESCRIBING A RECALL FOR OUR VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR. ON 1 APRIL 2017 I CONTACTED SPARTANBURG CHRYSLER JEEP, I WAS TOLD PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THEY WERE AVAILABLE. AS OF 24 OCTOBER 2017 I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM SPARTANBURG CHRYSLER JEEP AND HAVE NOW RECEIVED NOTICE FROM TK HOLDINGS INC., THAT THEY ARE FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY PROTECTION AND I MAY LOOSE MY ABILITY TO FILE A CLAIM. I WOULD LIKE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED WITH A SAFE ONE AT NO EXPENSE TO ME.
