AT THE END OF ATTEMPTING TO FILL OUR GAS TANK, FUEL EXPELLED FROM THE TANK BACK OUT ONTO MY HUSBAND, THE SIDE OF THE CAR AND THE GROUND AROUND THE PORT. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS REPEATED ITSELF AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND IN DIFFERENT OUTDOOR CONDITIONS (RAINY, SUNNY, SNOW, ETC.). WE PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER THAT DEMONSTRATED THE SAME ISSUE AND A REPAIR WAS MADE AS THAT MODEL YEAR WAS WITHIN A PREVIOUS RECALL RANGE. BEFORE WE PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE (USED) WE CHECKED THE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR RECORDS AND KNEW THIS ISSUE HAD NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED. SO, WE WERE SURPRISE TO EXPERIENCE IT. WE WERE EVEN MORE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT CHRYSLER IS NOT GOING TO ASSUME THE RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR THIS KNOW DEFECT ISSUE FOR A LATER MODEL (WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN FIXED?) WITH LITTLE CONCERN FOR PERSONAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY FOR FAMILIES WHEN REPORTED. ALL ATTEMPTS TO CONVERSE WITH CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVES ABOUT THIS HAVE RESULTED IN A "IT'S YOUR PROBLEM" ATTITUDE - NO RECALL, NO WARRANTY AND WRONG MODEL YEAR - AND ABSOLUTELY PUSHING US TO TAKE IT UP WITH THE DEALER TO GET FIXED. OUR DEALER IS AN HONEST, HARDWORKING BUSINESS AND WE KNOW IT'S NOT HIS ISSUE . . . IT'S CHRYSLER'S. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. THIS IS MY PRIMARY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER AND FOUND THAT IT HAS A FUEL BACK FLOW ISSUE. EVERY TIME I REFUEL, THE GASOLINE BLOWS BACK OUT UPON REMOVAL OF THE GAS NOZZLE. GASOLINE GETS ON THE GROUND, ON ME, AS WELL AS THE PAINT AND BUMPER OF THE VEHICLE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A SAFETY PROBLEM, LET ALONE AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD. WHEN INQUIRING INTO THE FIX I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE GAS TANK ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT QUITE A HIGH COST. (OF COURSE MY JEEP IS OUT OF WARRANTY.) DUE TO THE POTENTIAL LIABILITY I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF THERE'S NOT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IMPENDING. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS LEAKS ON THE SUPPLY AND RETURN TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES. AS PER NHSTA # 10041077, DEALER AND CHRYSLER CLAIM THAT THIS RECALL DOESN'T APPLY TO MY VEHICLE VIN. I HAVE SAME ISSUE AS EVERYBODY ELSE IN THE RECALL. OIL LEAKING AT THE FLEX HOSE SECTION OF THE LINE.
WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE, THE PUMP SHUTS OFF AND A BACKPRESSURE SPRAYS FUEL OUT OF THE TANK ONTO THE PERSON FUELING. IT HAPPENS AT MULTIPLE GAS STATIONS AND PUMPS. IT ALSO HAPPENS IF THE PUMP HANDLE IS SET TO SHUT OFF OR IF THE PERSON FUELING IS HOLDING THE HANDLE. ON MOST OCCASIONS THE GAS STATION IS OPEN AND I AM ABLE TO WASH MY HANDS. ON SOME OCCASIONS WHEN THE GAS STATION IS CLOSED, THE FUEL VAPORS FROM MY HANDS HAVE CAUSED HEADACHES WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD TO DECIDE TO DEAL WITH IT OR DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN WHEN IT IS 5 DEGREES OUTSIDE. A LITTLE RESEARCH SHOWS, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER TAKING TO DEALERSHIP WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $550. THIS ITEM WILL NOT ALLOW DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVERS AIRBAG WHEN NOT WORKING AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A STATION PROBLEM AS MY REGULAR STATION UNDERWENT A HUGE MAKEOVER INCLUDING NEW PUMP EQUIPMENT. AFTER TRYING MANY DIFFERENT STATIONS IN IL AND IN AND DOING RESEARCH ON THE NET, I FIND IT IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. NOTHING HELPS THE HUGE GUSH OF GAS THAT POURS OUT OF MY JEEP EVERYTIME I FILL UP!! . I'VE TRIED FILLING SLOW, FILLING MANUALLY (NOT AUTOMATIC SETTING ON PUMP NOZZLE), NOTHING WORKS! I EVEN HAD MY HUSBAND FILL IT JUST TO PROVE I WASN'T A HELPLESS FEMALE OR DUMB BLONDE. I DON'T KNOW WHY IT STARTED HAPPENING. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW SO I KNOW THE COMPLETE VEHICLE HISTORY AND SERVICE. AFTER FILLING UP YESTERDAY AND GETTING SOAKED WITH GASOLINE AGAIN, I HAD ENOUGH! TIME TO COMPLAIN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THIS IS REALLY A SERIOUS ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY INJURED IF THIS IS NOT CORRECTED. MANY TIMES I SEE PEOPLE AROUND GAS PUMPS SMOKING AND NOW I NOT ONLY HAVE TO WATCH WHAT I'M DOING, I NEED TO MAKE SURE NOBODY AROUND ME IS DOING ANYTHING CARELESS THAT COULD CAUSE ME HARM! EMAIL WAS SENT OFF TO CHRYSLER - WAITING FOR RESPONSE AS WELL AS INFO FROM MY DEALER. *TR
GAS WILL OVERFLOW AT VERY FILL UP, ESPECIALLY WHEN USING THE AUTO-FILL LEVER LATCH ON THE PUMP HANDLE. MANY TIMES, THE GAS HAS SPRAYED AND SOAKED THE ATTENDANT FILLING MY CAR (I LIVE IN NJ AND CANNOT FILL THE VEHICLE MYSELF). THE IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AS MANY GALLONS HAVE BEEN SPILLED DURING SINGLE INCIDENTS. MOST RELEASES ARE APPROXIMATELY A 1/10 OF A GALLON OR LESS BUT ONCE A MONTH OR SO, IT IS VERY SEVERE AND WILL CONTINUE TO SPRAY GAS UNTIL SOMEONE MANUALLY RELEASES THE LEVER. *JS
FUEL SPILLAGE DURING FILL UP, HAPPENS EVERY TIME. FUEL GUSHES OUT FORCEFULLY UPON TANK REACHING ITS CAPACITY. *TR
PROBLEM IS GAS SPILLING FROM MY JEEP EVERY TIME DURING FUELING. SOMEHOW, IT IS NOT TRIGGERING THE AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF VALVE CAUSING FUEL GASHING EVERYWHERE. I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE AND IT ONLY STARTED LAST MONTH. I DID NOT ALTER ANYTHING ON MY VEHICLE AND NO ACCIDENTS OF ANY TYPE. I'M NOT SURE WHERE THE PROBLEM IS BUT WHAT I KNOW IS THAT THIS FAILURE COULD BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM IF NOT RESOLVED. *TR
THE FUEL SHUTOFF FOR FILLING UP THE TANK NO LONGER WORKS. IF YOU FILL UP THE VEHICLE, WHEN THE SHUTOFF CLICKS FUEL GUSHES OUT. WHEN YOU REMOVE THE FUEL NOZZLE, MORE FUEL GUSHES OUT. I USE THE TERM GUSH BECAUSE IT IS NOT A SMALL AMOUNT BUT QUITE A BIT OF FUEL. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING ON A COLD AND ICY ROAD AND INSIDE WAS COLD DUE TO THE HEATER CORE BEING FILLED WITH CASTING SAND. I CROSSED A RIVER AND THE DIFFERENCE IN HUMIDITY CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO FOG UP AND FREEZE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD, BUT MANAGED TO STICK MY HEAD OUT THE WINDOW TO KEEP FROM CRASHING. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THE TEMP WAS ABOUT 5 OUTSIDE. I WAS NEAR GRAND ISLAND NEBRASKA. SOUTH OF THE WALMART ON SOUTH LOCUST STREET.
GAS GUSHES OUT AT THE END OF EACH AND EVERY FILL UP. *TR
MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT 2 DOOR OVERFILLS THE GAS TANK EVERY TIME I FILL UP. THE FUEL SPILLS OUT ALL OVER THE BACK PART OF THE VEHICLE AS IT SHUTS OFF ONLY AFTER FUEL IS SPILLING OUT. I HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE GAS FILLING SERVICE STATIONS OF DIFFERING BRANDS, AND ALL OF THEM OVERFILL. THIS JEEP HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL SENSOR AS I HAVE CHECKED ON MULTIPLE JEEP FORUMS AND THEY ALL DO THIS. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL TO HAVE THE SENSOR/FUEL TANK REPLACED? *TR
WHEN I'M FUELING MY JEEP AT THE GAS STATION, THE FUEL SYSTEM DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE SHUT-OFF MECHANISM. AS A RESULT, GAS SPILLS OUT AND RUNS DOWN MY CAR AND ON THE GROUND. I ALSO HAD THE GAS FREQUENTLY SPILLING ON MY HANDS BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. THE PROBLEM STARTED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY BACK IN NOVEMBER 2014. SINCE DECEMBER 2015, IT IS HAPPENING EVERY TIME I'M FUELING MY JEEP. THIS IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING. IT ALSO CAUSES CONCERNS FROM ENVIRONMENTAL STANDPOINT. I ALSO FEAR NEGATIVE IMPACT ON MY HEALTH DUE TO THIS ISSUE. BACKGROUND IS THAT THE PROBLEM RESULTS IN UNAVOIDABLE GAS SPILLING ON MY HANDS. WHEN I RAISED THIS ISSUE WITH MY JEEP DEALER, THEY INDICATED THAT THEY ALLEGEDLY NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE, THAT THEY "COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS" AND THAT THERE IS "NOTHING WRONG" WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM OF MY WRANGLER. I FEEL THAT I'M NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY MY JEEP DEALER. I LEARNED TODAY THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT MANY OTHER WRANGLER OWNERS ARE STRUGGLING WITH, SO I DECIDED TO REPORT IT TO THE NHTSA.
HEAVY OIL CONSUMPTION 3-4 QUARTS EVERY 2000 MILES .. I BOUGHT THE JEEP NEW IN AUG. 2010 IT HAS 48200 MILES ON IT.. IT IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND CALLED CHRYSLER. THEY WONT DO ANYTHING AND TOLD ME THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT. SO I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MACHINE SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PISTON RINGS ARE STICKING TO THE PISTONS ALLOWING OIL INTO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER. THEIR ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS EXACT PROBLEM
THE VEHICLE FAILS TO ACCELERATE AT A REASONABLE SAFE SPEED TO MERGE WITH INTERSTATE TRAFFIC IN THE GIVEN DISTANCE ALLOWED FOR MERGING. WHEN ACCELERATING TO A SPEED OF 60-65 MPH AND THE VEHICLES ENGINE REACHES AN INDICATED RPM OF APPROX 3500-4000 RPM, THE VEHICLE WILL CEASE TO ACCELERATE AND ACTUALLY DECELERATE WHILE THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE RPM CONTINUES TO INCREASE UNTIL THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS RELEASED. THE DRIVER HAS TO RELEASE FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO ALLOW THE ENGINE RPM TO DROP BELOW AN RPM OF 3500 AND THE VEHICLE TO RESUME ACCELERATION. THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. *TR
FUEL OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME I FILL UP. IF I FILL THE TANK TO THE AUTO SHUTOFF POINT A FAIR AMOUNT OF FUEL SPITS OUT AND DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD, AND NOT VERY GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. SO NOW I ONLY PUT THREE FOURTHS IN SO I DON'T HAVE IT POURING OUT AND ONTO MY JEEP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, FUEL SPEWED BACK OUT OF THE FUEL TANK AND OCCASIONALLY SPLASHED ONTO THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
IN 2012 MY VEHICLE ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY THAT RESULTED IN GASOLINE SPITTING OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE WHILE I WAS FILLING IT UP AT THE GAS STATION. THE DEALERSHIP REPAIRED IT UNDER WARRANTY ON DECEMBER 3, 2012. ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2014; THE EXACT SAME FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN. ALMOST 5 GALLONS OF GASOLINE SPILLED OUT BEFORE I COULD SHUT THE PUMP OFF WHICH RESULTED IN MY CLOTHS BEING SATURATED WITH FUEL AND A HAZMAT SPILL THAT CAUSED THE GAS STATION TO SHUT DOWN UNTIL IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF. THIS IS CAUSING BOTH A HAZARDOUS SPILL IN THE ENVIRONMENT AND A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ALL PERSONS SURROUNDING THE AREA. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $1,400 TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY STATED THAT THERE IS NO SAFETY RECALL OR TECHNICAL BULLETIN IN PLACE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND ALL THE SHOCKS WERE RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND ALL THE SHOCKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,400.
I'M OWNED THE JEEP FOR ABOUT A MONTH. I'VE FILLED THE TANK 4 TIMES AND TWICE THE FUEL TANK HAS OVERFLOWED. IT SOUNDS VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT I'M SEEING WAS RECALLED EARLIER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HEADLAMPS BLINKED ON AND OFF TWICE THEN WENT OUT. I TRIED CYCLING THE SWITCH ON AND OFF BUT THEY WOULD NOT TURN ON. SHORTLY AFTER SWITCHING TO HIGH BEAMS, THESE TOO TURNED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE 9/12/14. *TR
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014 FOR MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. EVERY TIME WE ATTEMPT TO FILL UP THE FUEL TANK, THE PUMP DOESN'T CUT OFF AND GAS SPEWS ALL DOWN THE JEEP AND WHOEVER IS PUMPING THE FUEL. I DID SOME INTERNET RESEARCH AND FOUND IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE JEEP AND HAD HOPED THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED BY NOW TO FIX. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE GAS TANK HAS TO BE REPLACED TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT A COST OF $1,300 AND THAT THE TANKS WERE ON BACKORDER. SINCE I DON'T THINK IT IS SAFE FOR MY DAUGHTER TO PUMP THE GAS, I WILL CONTINUE TO DO IT FOR HER BUT I THINK GIVEN THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS AND THE SAFETY ISSUES, A RECALL IS IMMINENT. *TR
I HAVE A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER THAT I RUN ON MAIL ROUTES. THE TPMS ALWAYS GOES OFF AND I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX THIS. FOR SAFETY REASONS, I PUT THE SPARE TIRE INSIDE SO I HAVE A BETTER VIEW IN MY REAR WINDOW SO I CAN SEE WHO IS BEHIND ME. I DROVE THE JEEP A FEW MONTHS LIKE THIS AND HAD NO PROBLEM THEN ONE DAY THE TPMS LIGHT AND CHIME GOES OFF EACH TIME I START THE JEEP. THE DEALERSHIP IS GUESSING IT MIGHT BE THE SPARE TIRE THAT IS INSIDE. I EMAILED CHRYSLER A NUMBER OF TIMES TO FIX THE ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP EXCUSE IS THE SPARE TIRE IS ON THE INSIDE INSTEAD OF THE OUTSIDE. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO GET THIS FIXED OR IS THERE NOTHING I CAN DO AT ALL BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO HELP? WOULD THIS NOT BE AGAINST THE LAW IF THIS IS FAULTY AND THEY ALSO TOLD ME IT WOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW TO TURN THE TPMS OFF OR LOWER THE POUNDS PER TIRE? THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WENT OVER ALL THE TROUBLESHOOTING INSTRUCTIONS FROM CHRYSLER AND THEY CAN NOT FIND THE ISSUE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. CLOCKSPRING MODULE IS BAD. *TR
THE CLOCK SPRING UNIT IS EXPERIENCING A BROKEN AIRBAG CIRCUIT. THE AIRBAG INDICATOR REPEATEDLY CHIMES AND ILLUMINATES A DASH PANEL INDICATOR. THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL FOR RHD, BUT NOT FOR LHD. THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTS ON LHD. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND WELL KNOW ISSUE AMONG JEEP OWNERS. PLEASE CHRYSLER, FIX THIS DEFECT. ADDITIONALLY MY HORN HAS NEVER OPERATED PROPERLY; IT EITHER DOESN'T ACTIVATE WHEN PRESSED OR WILL REMAIN ON AFTER PRESSED AND YOU HAVE TO HIT THE HORN OVER AN OVER TO GET IT TO STOP. ALSO MY CRUISE CONTROL HAS STOPPED WORKING. ALL OF THESE GO THROUGH THE CLOCK SPRING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,300...UPDATED 09-24-14 *BF UPDATED 02/25/2015*JS
WANT TO UPDATE ODI #10629109 WITH THIS INFORMATION: AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ELIMINATED AND STARTED A SEQUENCE OF 2 BELLS, LIGHT ON FOR APRX 10 SECONDS, THEN OFF FOR SAME, THEN SEQUENCE STARTS AGAIN. DEALER DIAGNOSED A BROKEN CLOCK SPRING BUT MY VIN NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL INFO I PROVIDED THEM. CONTACTED MANUFACTURER AND FILED COMPLAINT, THEY SAID THIS RECALL WAS FOR RHD VEHICLES AND I DISAGREED ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION; ACTION #PE11019 AND RECALL #11V52800. WHEN ASKED WHAT GRIEVANCE PROCESS WAS AVAILABLE TO ME, SHE SAID NONE. COMPLAINT #25543107 WAS FILED AND SHE SAID I WILL BE CONTACTED IF MY VIN IS ADDED TO THE RECALL. SHE COULD NOT TELL ME WHY WOULD MY VEHICLE DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL? I PAID FOR THE REPAIRS AND RETAINED THE BROKEN PART;, WHICH THE TEC SAID WAS CLEARLY BROKEN WHILE STILL IN THE COLUMN AND CAME OUT IN PIECES. WHILE THE WARNING LAMP WAS ELIMINATED IT AFFECTED THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED SWAY OR WANDERING WHEN AT HIGH SPEED ON THE FREEWAY. *TR

VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK AND THE IGNITION TURNED OFF. VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. TRIED DISCONNECTING BATTERY BUT DID NOT RESET. ALSO TRIED THE MANUAL OVERRIDE, WHICH DID ALLOW SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL, HOWEVER VEHICLE WOULD STILL NOT START. DISPLAY CONTINUED TO SHOW VEHICLE IN REVERSE REGARDLESS OF SHIFTING TO DIFFERENT GEARS. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DANGEROUS SITUATION, WITH POTENTIAL FOR INJURIES TO THOSE IN THE PARKING LOT. ALSO, COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT HAD IT OCCURRED AT AN INTERSECTION OR OTHER LOCATION. WHEN FILLING UP MY GAS TANK WITH FUEL ON MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED, THE TANK HAS OVERFLOWED. THE TANK CUTS OFF AT 17.5 GALLONS AND UPON CUTTING UP IT SPEWS FUEL FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK. THIS HAS CAUSE FUEL TO SPILL ONTO ME AND ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE STAINING THE GAS CAP AND SIDE FENDERS. THERE IS ALSO GREAT RISK TO THE PAINT ON THE VEHICLE WITH CONTINUED FUEL EXPOSURE. INITIALLY, AFTER MODERATE ACCELERATION FROM A STOP TO 35 MPH, ENGINE ELICITS A NEW LOUD RATTLING SOUND. THIS SOUND DIRECTLY CORRESPONDS TO ENGINE RPM DRAMATICALLY INCREASING WITH RPM OVER 2000. WHEN DECELERATING FROM A HIGHER RPM, THE SOUND INCREASES UNTIL MODERATE ACCELERATION IS AGAIN APPLIED. THE SOUND EMANATES FROM THE UPPER RIGHT ENGINE AREA AT ALL TIMES DURING ENGINE OPERATION. THIS SOUND FIRST OCCURRED WITHIN ONE WEEK OF A DEALER OIL CHANGE AND CONTINUES UNCHANGED AFTER 1400 MILES. THERE IS NO NOTICEABLE CHANGE IN VEHICLE PERFORMANCE.
