TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, A CLUNKING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE AND IT STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE OIL LEAKED OUT AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000. THIS JEEP HAS A RECALL FOR THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS FOR THE HEATED MIRROR FOR POSSIBLE FIRE. THE AUTONATION DEALER IN GOLDEN COLORADO SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART AND JEEP RECALL DEPARTMENT SAYS THEY DO. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THE DEALER DOESN'T WANT TO FIX RECALL ITEMS DO TO THE PROFITABILITY. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. JEEP RECALL IS SAYING THAT ISN'T THE CASE. THE MANUFACTURE AND DEALERS NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS HAZARDOUS RISK BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS FOR SOME TIME NOW AND JEEP SHOULD BE MORE COOPERATIVE.
ABS BRAKES ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT TOUCHING BRAKES. THIS CAUSES THE ABS LIGHT TO TURN ON AND ALL FOUR WHEELS GO THROUGH THE ANTI-LOCK STUTTER PATTERN AND CAN DRAMATICALLY AFFECT STEERING CONTROL WHEN IT IS UNEXPECTED, PULLING THE VEHICLE HARD IN EITHER DIRECTION. THIS HAPPENED TO ME 4 TIMES YESTERDAY WHILE MAKING A 250 MI ROAD TRIP ON THE WAY BACK HOME. THE DASHBOARD LIGHT ILLUMINATES BRIEFLY EACH TIME AS THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGES FOR ROUGHLY 2-3 SECONDS AND THEN RELEASES. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENED ROAD SPEEDS WERE BETWEEN 45-65MPH.
DEATH WOBBLE - I HAD HEARD OF OTHER JEEP WRANGLER DRIVERS TALKING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS, BUT HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED IT UNTIL LAST WEEKEND. IT STARTED WITH A SLIGHT SHIMMY AT AROUND 35MPH AT THE BEGINNING OF A ROUGHLY 250 MI. ROAD TRIP. BEFORE HITTING THE END OF THE TRIP, THE SHIMMY HAD TRANSFORMED INTO AN INCREDIBLY VIOLENT JERKING MOTION OF THE STEERING BETWEEN 10:00 - 2:00 AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. VERY NEARLY RESULTED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, HAD TO REPLACE THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS, WHEEL BEARINGS, TIE ROD ENDS, STEERING STABILIZER, TRACK BAR AND DRAG LINKS. THE TRACK BAR BOLTS IN THE END SLEEVES SEEMED FAR TOO SMALL IN DIAMETER AND ROUTED OUT THE BUSHINGS OVER TIME AND THIS LOOKED TO BE ONE OF THE MAJOR CULPRITS OF THE PROBLEM. INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION AND ALSO AN INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE FIX AS ALL OF THESE PARTS ARE AFFECTED AND INTERCONNECTED. WHEN ONE STARTS TO GO IT HAS A DOMINO EFFECT ON THE OTHERS.
THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON, BUT IT APPEARS IT'S ACTUALLY THE CLOCKSPRING THAT IS FAULTY. I DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW THAT IT'S THE WIRING THAT IS FAULTY OR THE CLOCKSPRING IT'S SELF, EITHER WAY, A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WANT $500.00 TO FIX IT. WITH ALL THE RECALLS ON THIS PARTICULAR PART, THIS VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. AFTER MARKET WARRANTIES WON'T TOUCH IT.
TAKATA RECALL WE FEEL WE CANNOT SAFELY USE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL IT IS FIXED. WHEN DO THEY ANTICIPATE HAVING A PROPER FIX?
2011 JEEP JKU CLOCKSPRING FAULTY WHY ONLY 2007-2010 RECALL WHEN ALL YRS ARE CRAP!
MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG SYSTEM SO I FINALLY TOOK IT IN AND HAD IT REPAIRED BUT THE LIGHT DID NOT GO OFF AND NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT I HAVE NO AIRBAGS BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS NO BUT THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH RECALL SO I NEED TO PAY TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? WHY WOULD MY AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON AND THEN I GET A RECALL BUT YET THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT?? I DO NOT KNOW EXACTLY WHEN THIS HAPPENED BUT I THINK AT LEAST A YEAR OR MORE AGO WHEN THE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE RECALL CAME OUT BUT NOBODY HAD PARTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. AT VARIOUS TIMES, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO LEAKING OIL FREQUENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
TAKATA INFLATORS. AFTER CALLING JEEP CHRYSLER REGARDING THE RECALL NOTIFICATION I WAS INFORMED THAT THE COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE A FIX, OTHER THAN NOT ALLOWING PASSENGERS. AS THEY DO NOT HAVE A REPAIR I INQUIRED ABOUT THE OTHER OPTIONS (BUY BACK AND TRADING FOR A NON AFFECTING VEHICLE) AND WAS INFORMED THAT JEEP CHRYSLER WOULD NOT PERFORM EITHER ACTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NHTSA GUIDELINES. IF COMPANIES ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH FEDERAL GUIDELINES, HOW CAN THEY ARBITRARILY CHOSE NOT TO HONOR THEM? WE ARE A SINGLE VEHICLE HOME AND NOW WE CANNOT USE IT TO TRANSPORT OUR FAMILY WITHOUT RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH AND JEEP CHRYSLER HAS NO REPAIR IN PLACE AND THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT A RETURN OR A SWAP TO A SAFE VEHICLE.
WE HAVE THE JEEP DEATH WOBBLE. IT HAS HAPPENED 3X'S SINCE PURCHASE, 06-21-2016 STARTS WHEN GOING OVER BUMPY ROAD, MAYBE 40-45MPH. VIOLENTLY SHAKING, DIFFICULT TO CONTROL STEERING. BOUNCES ME OUT OF THE SEAT, TEETH RATTLING, FEEL LIKE WINDOWS WILL BREAK. STOPS SHAKING WHEN I TOUCH BRAKE PEDAL. VERY SCARY. CRUISE/SPEED CONTROL ONLY WORKS PART-TIME AND RADIO BUTTONS 5 AND 6 DO NOT LIGHT UP LIKE 1-4. I FEAR THEY HAVE BEEN "BOUNCED APART" MAYBE. I LIVE IN BUTLER CO, PA THE BIRTHPLACE OF THE JEEP. JEEP MUST COME THROUGH AND FIX THIS. THIS IS EMBARRASSING FOR JEEP PEOPLE LET ALONE DANGEROUS. HELP!
2011 JEEP WRANGLER IS VERY HARD TO FUEL. WHEN FUELING FUEL PUMP CONTINUALLY SHUTS OFF. MUST REDUCE TO A VERY SLOW RATE AND EVEN THEN IT WILL SOMETIMES SHUT OFF NO MATTER WHAT PUMP IS USED. OCCURS AT EVERY GAS STATION AND EVERY PUMP. SO NOW I HAVE TO PUMP GAS INTO THE JEEP REALLY SLOW BEEN CARE FULL AS NOT TO HAVE A FUEL BACK SPLASH.

TAKATA RECALL (RECALL DATE JULY 1, 2016) OF RECALL NUMBER S43 FOR A FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG, AND I HAVE CALLED JEEP/MOPAR ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS. ON THE LAST CALL THEY ASSURED ME THAT I WOULD HAVE THE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED ON OR ABOUT JANUARY 31, 2017. THERE WILL MOST CERTAINLY BE A RECORDING OF THIS CALL, WHICH WAS ON OR ABOUT DECEMBER 24, 2016. ON FEBRUARY 17, I AGAIN CALLED MOPAR AT 1-800-853-1403, AND WAS TOLD BY [XXX] (EMPLOYEE/[XXX] NUMBER RI183) THAT THE PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MARCH 31, 2017. I AM IN ONE OF THE HOTTEST AND MOST HUMID AREAS OF THE USA, SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, AND MY VEHICLE, A JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED, VIN # [XXX], IS A 2011 MODEL, SO IT IS AMONG THE OLDER VEHICLES IN THE RECALL. I ASKED THE CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE NAMED ABOVE TO TRANSFER ME TO A SUPERVISOR, AND FIRST SHE TOLD ME THAT NO SUPERVISOR WAS AVAILABLE, THEM THAT NO SUPERVISOR COULD BE LOCATED, THAN THAT THE SUPERVISOR WAS IN A MEETING. SHE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO RECEIVE A CALL-BACK, OR I COULD HOLD. I WAS ON A CELL PHONE, SO I ASKED FOR A CALL-BACK. THAT WAS AT ABOUT 10:30 IN THE MORNING AND I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL AT ALL THAT DAY. AUTO MAKERS CAN, WITH IMPUNITY, CONTINUE TO PUT AIRBAGS AND SENSORS IN NEW VEHICLES, AND CONTINUE TO SELL THEM, WHILE NOT STANDING BEHIND THOSE THEY HAVE ALREADY SOLD. SENSORS NEEDED FOR THOSE CONSUMERS WHO PREVIOUSLY PUT THEIR TRUST IN THIS COMPONENT MANUFACTURER AND IN JEEP. I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP, AS I DON'T EXPECT TO GET A RETURN CALL AS I WAS PROMISED, AND I DO EXPECT THAT WHEN I CALL AGAIN, MOPAR WILL WALK BACK THE PROMISE OF A MARCH 31, 2017 PARTS ARRIVAL. ON TWO OCCASIONS, WITHIN A TWO WEEK PERIOD, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AFTER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAD BEEN RELEASED. THE MOST SEVERE OCCURRED WHILE PASSING AND OVERTAKING ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES AND THE PARKING BRAKE DID NOTHING TO STOP THE ACCELERATION. DURING THE INTENDED PASSING THE VEHICLE REACHED 70 MPH. THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION TOOK THE VEHICLE TO 85 MPH. EVENTUALLY THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY.
AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON CONSISTENTLY AND STARTED ABOUT 55,000 MILES. DEALER TESTED AND SAYS IT IS CODE B1B02. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE I SAW WHERE THIS HAS BEEN AN KNOWN ISSUE FOR SOME TIME.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON TODAY 4:10PM 06/18/16 WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX 55MPH IN TRAFFIC, STRAIGHT INTERSTATE IN CHICAGO, IL AND HAS STAYED ON. STOPPED BY A JEEP DEALERSHIP TO CHECK CODES (I WAS AWAY FROM HOME DEALERSHIP), SERVICE DEPT WAS CLOSING BUT SVC MGR SCANNED FOR DIAGNOSTIC CODE - SAID IT WAS AN AIRBAG CODE/ AIRBAG MALFUNCTION. MY DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED. HE TURNED OFF JEEP AND TURNED IT ON AGAIN WHILE STATIONARY IN JEEP DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT, WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND STAYED ON ALL THE WAY HOME, APPROXIMATELY 2 1/2 HRS OR 150 MILES. I RECEIVED 2 EMAILS ON MAY 27, 2016 FROM NHTSA RE: AIRBAG RECALLS ON JEEP WRANGLERS BUT MY VIN/MODEL WASN'T LISTED.
DEATH WOBBLE- CHRYSLER/JEEP AS LONG COVERED UP THE ISSUE WITH THEIR WRANGLERS "WOBBLING" UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN DRIVING OVER THE SLIGHTEST BUMP IN THE ROAD. THIS IS DUE TO FAULTY WHEEL BEARINGS/TRACTION BARS/ AND STEERING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEAR AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED CORRECTLY AND CHEAPLY. CHEAP PARTS AND FIXED CAUSE DEATH.
DEATH WOBBLE. ANY TIME A BUMP IS HIT WITH THE JEEP ABOVE 35MPH, IT GOES INTO THE DEATH WOBBLE, WHICH DOESN'T GO AWAY UNTIL THE CAR IS STOPPED. I'VE TRIED FIXING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE, BUT IT STILL HAPPENS. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT IT CERTAINLY SEEMS LIFE-THREATENING, AS THE JEEP FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO BREAK INTO PIECES!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE, THE TIRES SEIZED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STOP INDEPENDENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE ONCE SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
THE FUEL TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME I FILL UP. IT SPILL FUEL EVERYWHERE.
I RECEIVED 2 EMAILS FROM NHTSA IN MAY 2016 REGARDING THE FAILED AIR BAGS DUE TO FAILED CLOCKSPRING ASSEMBLY. TWO (2) WEEKS LATER MY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS FAILED. THE JEEP DEALERSHIP SAID IF I GOT INTO A CRASH, THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY. HOWEVER, I WAS FORCED TO PAY FOR THIS MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. THIS WAS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND A SAFETY ISSUE. I SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR THIS. MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES AND MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND HAS BEEN ON FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS OR MORE. WHY IS THE RECALL ONLY FOR RH DRIVE WRANGLERS, FROM WHAT I AM READING THERE ARE SEVERAL LH DRIVE WRANGLERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO EVERY TIME IT RAINS FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOORS ARE WET UNDERNEATH FLOOR MAT. I HAVE READ SEVERAL OWNER COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE BUT MANUFACTURE DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE.

THERE IS FUEL CAP MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD. I CHANGED THE CAP AND THE MESSAGE CONTINUED. I TOOK THE RUBICON TO THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL TANK AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A HOSE THAT GOES FROM WHERE THE FUEL GETS FILLED TO THE ENGINE AND THE WHOLE TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND A SAFETY HAZARD. THE JEEP IS NOT BEING DRIVEN RIGHT NOW DUE TO MY CONCERN. THE JEEP IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND IT ONLY HAS 36K MILES. THIS SHOULD BE A MANUFACTURE REPLACEMENT> I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH ISSUES ON OTHER VEHICLES EVEN AFTER 50+ YEARS. PLEASE ADVICE ME ASAP ON MY NEXT STEP. THANK YOU *TR
MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 2011 JEEP RUBICON. A RECALL WAS ISSUED TWO DAYS AFTER I CALLED BOTH CHRYSLER AND BY DEALERSHIP COMPLAINING ABOUT MY ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS BASICALLY ON MY OWN TO COVER THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT CLOCKSPRING. RECALL INFORMATION "(FCA US LLC) IS RECALLING 394,258 MODEL YEAR 2007-2010 JEEP WRANGLER JK VEHICLES MANUFACTURED MARCH 2, 2006, TO AUGUST 13, 2010." THIS DOES NOT COVER MY 2011 JEEP WHICH WAS MANUFACTURED SEPTEMBER 2010. A MONTH FROM THE CUT OFF DATE. MY JEEP HAS THE SAME ENGINE AS THE THE 2010S UNLIKE THE LATER BUILD 2011 JEEPS. IT ALSO HAS THE SAME EXACT CLOCKSPRING AS WELL.
CLOCK SPRING FAILED CAUSING THE AIRBAG TO STOP FUNCTIONING. THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN RECALLED IN THE 2011 RIGHT HAND STEER VEHICLES AND IN THE 2008-2010 MODEL YEAR LEFT AND RIGHT HAND STEER WRANGLERS APPARENTLY IT IS STILL A PROBLEM
UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CAUSING ACCIDENT AND RISK OF LIFE !
THE ENGINE CUNSUMES OIL AT A VERY HIGH RATE! TOLD 1 QUART EVERY 1,000 BY THE DEALERSHIP! IN AUGUST 2013 WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY I HAD A ROD BARING SNAP AND SHOOT METAL CHIPS INTO THE OIL PAN AT 52,000, THE WHOLE ENGINE LOCKED UP AND NEEDED REPLACED. ON MAY 7TH 2016, AGAIN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 56,000 MILES ON THE NEW ENGINE, SAME EXACT THING ROD BARING SNAPPED, METAL HIPS INTO THE OIL PAN, ENGINE LOCKED UP AND NEEDED REPLACE! THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTED THE OIL PAN AND I WAS TOLD THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO NEGLECT ON MY PART! I ALWAYS HAS THE OIL CHANGED BETWEEN 3,000-5,000 MILES.. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS ENGINE HAS NOT BEEN TOTALLY RECALLED!!

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT BECAUSE THE RECALL INDICATED A RIGHT-HAND DRIVE AND THE CONTACT HAD A LEFT-HAND DRIVE, THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,454.

I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP JULY 25, 2016 CONCERNED THAT WE HAD NOT BEEN CALLED TO SCHEDULE REPLACEMENT, WAS ADVISED THEY WOULD CALL AS SOON AS PRODUCT WAS AVAILABLE. "TAKATA RECALL" RECENTLY, ON A DRY, SUNNY, MODERATELY WARM DAY I WAS DRIVING A NORMAL SPEED ON A NORMAL ROAD, DOWNWARD SLOPING, AT A LOW SPEED AND THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CHIMED AND ILLUMINATED. IT'S BEEN FOUR DAYS AND THE LIGHT REMAINS ON, AND CONTINUES TO CHIME. I HAVE OWNED THIS JEEP FOR TWO YEARS AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY COLLISIONS AND THE JEEP HAS NOT BEEN OFFROAD, NOR DID I HAVE A CHILD IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, WHERE AN AIRBAG MAY SENSE A SMALL PASSENGER. THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR FROM WHAT I'M FINDING ON FORUMS BUT ALSO A SAFETY DEVICE IN A VEHICLE THAT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY BEYOND A STANDARD 3YR/36K WARRANTY. SEATBELTS DON'T EXPIRE NOR SHOULD AN AIRBAG IN A VEHICLE.
NEARLY EVERY TIME I REFUEL MY JK, WITHIN ONE SECOND OF SHUTTING OFF THE FUEL NOZZLE, APPROXIMATELY 3-8OUNCES OF GAS IS FORCEFULLY EXPELLED FROM THE FUEL INLET ON THE JEEP. SEVERAL HUNDRED JK OWNERS HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THEIR JKS ON A NUMBER OF INTERNET FORA ADDITIONALLY, THERE ARE SEVERAL YOU TUBE VIDEOS DOCUMENTING THIS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM SPANS ALL MODEL YEARS OF THE JK, BOTH TWO AND FOUR DOOR. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. I'VE REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO JEEP AND THEY CLAIM IT'S NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY SINCE NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED BUT I FIND THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND A POTENTIAL HAZARD.

ODI INVESTIGATED THE RHD (RIGHT HAND DRIVE) WRANGLER FOR A CLOCKSPRING ISSUE UNDER PE11-019 WHICH LED TO NHTSA RECALL 11V258 ON MODEL YEAR (MY) 2008-2012 RHD WRANGLERS AS WELL AS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGN ON MY 2007 LHD WRANGLER VEHICLES. CURRENT INVESTIGATION: PE 15-025 HAS THE SAME SYMPTOM AS MY LHD WRANGLER.

WHEN YOU FILL THE VEHICLE, AT TIME OF AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF AT PUMP, FUEL SPURTS OUT OF FILL. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED CONDITION BUT CONTINUOUS.
THE CLOCKSPRING ON MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LEFT HANDED DRIVE) HAS FAILED CAUSING THE AIRBAGS TO BECOME DYSFUNCTIONAL AND AIRBAG LIGHT TO ENGAGE. FCA HAS RECALLED RIGHT HANDED DRIVE JEEP WRANGLERS 2007-2012 UNDER THE ATTACHED RECALL NOTIFICATION. FCA HAS ALSO RECALLED 2007 LHD JEEP WRANGLERS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. THE ROOT CAUSE OF THESE RECALLS WAS DETERMINED TO BE DUST ACCUMULATION IN THE GREASE OF THE CLOCKSPRING AS SEEN IN THE ATTACHED RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE CLOCKSPRING PART IN BOTH LHD AND RHD VARIATIONS OF THIS MODEL JEEP WRANGLER INCLUDE A SIMILAR, IF NOT THE SAME, CLOCKSPRING PART. THE AMOUNT OF DUST THAT A JEEP WRANGLER IS SUBJECT TO DOES NOT CORRELATE TO THE POSITION OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND CLOCKSPRING. I WOULD SUSPECT THAT A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAT 70,000 MILES AND 5 YEARS OF USE SHOULD NOT HAVE AIRBAG FAILURE. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP WHICH THEN INSTRUCTED ME TO CONTACT THE FCA JEEP WARRANTY/RECALL 800 NUMBER IN ADDITION TO THE FCA HEADQUARTER'S 800 NUMBER. AFTER SPEAKING WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE FCA HEADQUARTERS HOTLINE I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO MY LHD 2011 JEEP WRANGLER AND THE REPAIR WAS TO BE MADE FROM OUT OF MY POCKET. TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY OVER 45MPR, OVER MINOR BUMPY ENTRANCE TO OVERPASS, MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCES THE KNOWN "DEATH WOBBLE". NBC NEWS I-TEAM REPORTED ON THIS VERY SAME JEEP MANUFACTURING ISSUE. MY RUBICON IMMEDIATELY BEGAN SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY AND I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 15 MPR. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. NOW, IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IN THE SAME AREA. THE ROAD IS STRAIGHT, NO TURNS AND THE "BUMPS" ARE NOT POT-HOLES. I HAVE TO HANG ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL VERY TIGHT AND PRAY NO CAR IS NEXT TO ME. MY TIRES ARE ALIGNED AND I HAVE THEM INSPECTED REGULARLY. MY DEALERSHIP SAID IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THEY ACTUALLY HAVE A "COUPLE OF ROADS BY THE DEALERSHIP THEY TEST DRIVE THEIR CHRYSLER & JEEP VEHICLES WITH THAT PROBLEM BECAUSE IT ALWAYS HAPPENS." JEEP WRANGLER 2011 STALLED ON THE CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY IN SEVERAL OCCATIONS. IT OCCUR SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS ON THE ROAD, THE JEEP WENT OUT COMPLETELY, IT DID NOT BRAKE, IT DID NOT TURN ON, IT DID NOT HONK, I DID NOT RESPOND. SEVERAL TIMES THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION HAPPEN EXACTLY THE SAME AND I ALMOST RISKED MY LIFE. I ALREADY BEEN ON THE EDGE OF CRASHING AND I HAD TO STOP IN THE GRASS OR GREEN AREAS TO NOT KILL MYSELF. MECHANICS DO NOT COME UP WITH THE PROBLEM. IN THE DEALER THERE ARE SEVERAL JEEP WRANGLER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. LAST VISIT TO A PROFESSIONAL AND AUTHORIZE REPAIR CENTER 6/11/18. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT THAT ATTENDS LIFE AND SECURITY.
ON MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2007-2012 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2008-2012 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING."
I HAVE A BAD CLOCKSPRING WHICH HAS BEEN RECALLED ON RIGHT HANDED WRANGLERS FOR THE SAME YEAR BUT HAS NOT YET FOR THE LEFT HANDED WRANGLERS AND IT IS CAUSING MY AIRBAG LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE WHILE I AM DRIVING AND WHILE I AM STAYING STILL AND COULD AFFECT MY AIRBAG FROM DEPLOYING WHEN NEEDED.
