FUEL OVERFILL SHUT OFF NOT WORKING RESULTING IN LARGE SPRAY OF FUEL.
AFTER MY HORN STARTED GOING ON AND OFF ON ITS OWN, I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS TYPICALLY RELATED TO THE TIPM PROBLEM. CONTACTED MY DEALER, AND THEY QUOTED ME $1200 TO REPAIR. ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THE 08 MODELS AND THAT THE PART NUMBERS ARE THE SAME, BUT FOR SOME REASON CHRYSLER STOPPED THE RECALL AFTER THE 08 MODELS. MY JEEP HAS ABOUT 71,000 MILES ON IT, WHICH IS BASICALLY NOTHING. AGGRAVATED TO BEYOND BELIEF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED FUNCTIONING, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IDLING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER FIVE MINUTES. THE FAILURE HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM MODULE MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. GASOLINE OVERFLOWS THE TANK WHEN FILLING AT EVERY FILLUP, REGARDLESS OF FILLING STATION BRAND NAME, TIME OF YEAR OR FILLING WITH THE NOZZLE HANDLE HELD BY HAND OR USING THE AUTO FILL MODE.
FUEL OVERFLOWS FROM THEIR TANK DURING THE REFUELING PROCESS. THE FUEL SYSTEM DOES NOT SEEM TO RESPOND TO THE SHUT-OFF MECHANISM, WHICH MEANS GAS SPILLS OUT ONTO THE GROUND, THE CAR AND EVEN THE OWNER. THIS ISN'T A SIMPLE LITTLE FUEL LEAK EITHER, THIS IS MORE LIKE A FUEL GEYSER.

BRAKE PEDAL ISSUE. BRAKES ARE NEW, BUT PEDAL IS SOFT. CREATES A STOPPING ISSUE AS IT IS DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE AND TIME THE STOPPING DISTANCE WITHOUT INCREASING BRAKING PRESSURE. HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS, BUT MOST NOTICEABLE AT LOW SPEEDS BELOW 30MPH.
"ON THE 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING."
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORST OVER TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
MONDAY, JANUARY 11, 2016 4:21 PM TRANSMISSION FIRE. 2011 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON WITH 81K MILES ALL MAINTENANCE. NO MODIFICATIONS AND NO OFF ROADING. LOST POWER ON AN INCLINED ROAD. THEN THE CAR SHUT OFF AFTER ALL THE PANELS WENT CRAZY AND THEN BLACK SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT OF THE HOOD AREA. ONLY THING THAT KEPT MY CAR FROM GOING UP IN FLAMES WAS IT WAS POURING DOWN RAIN AND I WAS ON AN INCLINE. THE 100000 MILE / 5 YEAR POWER TRAN WARRANTY ENDED THE DAY BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. AT THE TIME I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS AN ENGINE FIRE DO TO THE RAIN AND ALL THE BLACK SMOKE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN NO HELP AND BOTH DID NOT EVEN MENTION FIRE UNTIL I DID FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND HAD A PRIVATE MECHANIC LOOK AT IT. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF WAITING ON AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER TO COMPLETE THEIR INVESTIGATION.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V288000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,997.
RE: NHTSA RECALL #14V-631, MY MIRRORS, AND THE DEFROSTING ON THEM AS WELL AS MY REAR WINDOW WORKED FINE BUT I RECEIVED 2 OR 3 RECALL NOTICES IN THE MAIL EARLY 2015. I TOOK MY RUBICON (WRANGLER) INTO A DEALERSHIP, HAWK JEEP IN FOREST PARK, IL (CHICAGO) FOR THE SAFETY RECALL REPAIR. THE FIRST TIME I HAD TO USE THE DEFROSTERS AFTER THE REPAIR WAS A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO WHEN IT SNOWED - NOTHING WORKS! I USED TO SEE THE ICE/FOG DEFROSTING WITHING 10-15 SECONDS. SINCE THEY DID WHAT THEY DID, THE SIDE MIRROR DEFROSTERS DID NOT WORK NOR DOES MY REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. THE DEALERSHIP OBVIOUSLY DID SOME ADDITIONAL DAMAGE THAT MAY PUT ME AND MY CHILDREN AT RISK OF FIRE OR WORSE. I HAD NO VISIBILITY DRIVING AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO PULL OFF ON AN EXIT TO A GAS STATION TO CLEAR MY REAR WINDOW AND SPRAY DEFROSTER ON MY OUTSIDE MIRRORS.
PURCHASED THE VECHICLE NEW, WITHIN 2500 MILES VECHICLE LEAKED WITH OVER 1INCH OF WATER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD, THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEALS MOVE FORWARD 40K MILES DRIVE SIDE DOES THE SAME, REPLACED THE SEALS. AS SOON AS THE SEALS HAVE WERE REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE CENTER SEAM OF THE FREEDOM PANEL STARTED LEAKING. MY VECHICLE HAS MOOD AND MILD ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF THE ROOF AND UNDER THE SEATS. WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE VERY FIRST FIX WAS AN OBSOLETE FIX AND THEY HAVE COME OUT WITH A BETTER SEAL KIT BUT IT WOULD BE AT MY COST TO REPLACE. MY VECHICLE IS NOW JUST OVER 70K MILES AND HAS NEVER BEEN DRY SINCE WE BOUGHT IT NEW. NOT TO MENTION I'VE GONE THROUGH THREE STEREOS DUE TO THE LEAK AND SHORTING OUT AS WELL.
RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING WIPERS, LIGHTS LOCKS AND HORN WILL OPERATE. THIS ALSO HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHEN THE DOORS ARE OPENED WHILE STATIONARY. IT HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY FREQUENT. I BELIEVE IT TO BE THE TIPM BASED ON THOUSANDS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS.
DRIVING ALONG ABOUT 75MPH ON I-26. ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL THE LIGHTS INSIDE FLASHED AND THEN WHEN DARK. JEEP SHUT DOWN AND WENT DEAD. COASTED TO SHOULDER. SHUT OFF IGNITION AND REMOVE THE KEY. INSERTED KEY AND STARTED JEEP. ABOUT 2 HOURS LATER, I PULLED OVER AT A REST AREA, SHUT OF THE JEEP, AND WENT TO USE THE REST ROOM. WHEN I RETURNED THE JEEP WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE FOB TO UNLOCK THE DOORS, I USED THE KEY IN THE MANUAL LOCK. JEEP WOULD NOT START. I DISCONNECTED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS, AND RE INSTALLED. JEEP STARTED AND EVEN 2 DAYS LATER NO RETURN OF SYMPTOMS.
MY JEEP WRANGLER 2011 SPIT BACK EVERY TIME ME OR MY WIFE REFUEL THE VEHICLE GETTING GAS OVER ME AND THE FLOOR .IF WE PARK THE VEHICLE INSIDE THE GARAGE THE ODOR OF GAS IS VERY STRONG WE DECIDE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE OUT SIDE . I CALL THE AUTHORIZED DEALER THEY TELL ME THAT ARE NOT ANY RECALLS REGARDING THE FUEL SYSTEM,. THE MAIN CONCERN OF THIS SITUATION ARE IF THAT SITUATION CAN INITIATE A FIRE OR THE FUMES CAN BE A HAZARD FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY .
TWICE IN LAST 2YRS MY STANDARD WRANGLER HAS REFUSED TO SHIFT INTO GEER AND MADE A WINDING NOISE.. THEN STALLED AND REFUSED TO START FOR UPTO 10 MIN. IT HAPPEND LAST FAL WITH APPROX 2900 MILES ON IT THEN AGAIN A FEW DAYS AGO WITH 4800 MILES... NOT SURE WHY OR WHAT IS CAUSE NOTHING IS WRONG ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP GARAGE. ALSO HITTING ANY LITTLE BUMP FOR THE LAST 30000 MILES HAS MADE JEEP JUMP LIKE THE REAREND IS FLOPPING TO ONE SIDE ALSO HARD BREAKING CAUSES SAME ISSUE.. ALL SUSPENSION PARTS ARE EITHER NEW OR NEWER.. LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE TRIED TO FIX THAT ISSUE AND FAILED... I AM AFRAID THESE ISSUES WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSED SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS TO BECOME ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LOWER BACK AND NECK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CRASH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO LIMP MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
TAKATA RECALL, THESE AIRBAGS REMAIN IN MY VEHICLE WITH THE RECALL OF TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY IN MY AREA MAKE MY VEHICLE A CONSTANT DANGER TO MY LIFE AND ALL THOSE ON ANY ROAD OR HIGHWAY I MAY DRIVE ON. THEY CONTAIN METAL COMPONENTS THAT KILL. NHTSA IS NOT DOING NEARLY ENOUGH TO GET THE MANUFACTURER TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION TO REPLACE SAID AIRBAGS BEFORE, HIGHLY POSSIBLE MULTIPLE DEATHS OCCUR. THERE ARE SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE, WATER ACCUMULATING ON THE FLOOR IN 8 TO 12 INCHES ON BOTH FRONT PASSENGER SIDES. NOT A DROP WAS FOUND ANYWHERE ELSE WITHIN THE VEHICLE. IT TOOK 4 ATTEMPTS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND THERE IS NO, REPORT OTHER THAN THOSE I HAVE ON A HARD DRIVE FROM SOMEONE MY DEALERSHIP HAD TO CALL IN TO FIX THIS ISSUE, BY THE NAME OF,"THE WATERMAN." WHY ARE THERE NO REPORTS ON FILE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF MY DEALERSHIP. THERE ARE CONSTANT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, ICONS LIGHTING UP, REPAIR DEPARTMENT CLAIMING THEY CANNOT REPEAT THE ISSUE. THOUGH I HAVE TAKEN IN PHOTOS OF THE DASHBOARD AS PROOF AND EVIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY MECHANICAL AND BODY OUTSIDE S WELL AS THE ENTIRE INTERIOR.THE CARPET REQUIRES REPLACING REFUSED BY THE SERVICE DEPT. THE WATER CAUSED THE CARPETING TO BECOME LOOSE, THE CHEAP PLASTIC CLIP TO HOLD THE MAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOES NOT HOLD IT IN PLACE ,CAUSING IT TO PUNCH UP UNDER THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS.THERE IS ALSO A RIP ABOUT AN INCH OR SO BESIDE THE PLASTIC CLIP MEANT TO HOLD THE MAT IN PLACE. THIS IS A DEADLY DEFECT WAITING TO HAPPEN. AFTER TWICE BEING DEEMED REPAIRED, BOTH SIDE VIEW ELECTRIC HEATED MIRRORS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO KEEP THEM CLEAR FROM WATER, THE DANGEROUS PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE WATER DAMAGE HAS CAUSED RUST AND CORROSION TO ACCUMULATE UNDER THE CARPET WHERE MOST OF THE WIRES AND PARTS TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ARE PLACED AND COMPROMISED.THERE ARE SUSPENSION PROBLEMS,VISIBILITY
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH, AND I EXPERIENCED A WOBBLE/VIBRATION/SHAKING IN THE STEERING. I SLOWED DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 40MPH, AND ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION. A FEW DAYS LATER, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AGAIN AT APPROXIMATELY 50MPH, AND MY JEEP STARTED VIOLENTLY WOBBLING/SHAKING/VIBRATION TO THE POINT WHERE I COULD BARELY MAINTAIN CONTROL OF MY JEEP. UPON SLOWING DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 35MPH, THE JEEP CONTINUED TO WOBBLE/SHAKE/VIBRATE VIOLENTLY TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO PULL OFF OF THE ROAD. I CHECKED TIRES FOR LOOSENESS AND DID NOT FIND THAT THEY WERE LOOSE. I GOT BACK IN MY JEEP AND CONTINUED TO MY DESITINATION DRIVING UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT AT APPROXIMATELY 35MPH WITH MY FOUR WAY HAZARD LIGHTS FLASHING BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID OF LOSING CONTROL OF MY JEEP. ONCE I GOT TO MY DESTINATION, I PROCEEDED TO PULL OFF THE PASSENGER FRONT TIRE TO CHECK FOR ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY THAT WOULD EXPLAIN THE WOBBLE/VIBRATION/SHAKING. NOTHING LOOKED DAMAGED/LOW ON FLUID/BROKEN SO I PUT THE TIRE BACK ON. I THEN PROCEEDED TO A TIRE BUSINESS AND HAD ALL FOUR TIRES BALANCED AND ROTATED. THE WOBBLE/SHAKING/VIBRATION SEEMED TO IMPROVE BUT THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. THE JEEP CONTINUED TO WOBBLE/SHAKE/VIBRATE WHEN TRYING TO SLOW DOWN THEREFORE THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE. THE STEERING STABILIZER HAS ALSO BEEN REPLACED WHICH SEEMS TO MAKE THIS ISSUE WORSE AND THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT NOW DUE TO SAFETY ISSUES/CONCERNS.
TOOK 2011 JEEP JK TO CAR WASH. AFTERWARDS "SWAY" BAR LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH. SHUT CAR OFF, RESTARTED AND RAN THROUGH DISCONNECT PROCEDURES- PUT TRANS/DIFF IN NEUTRAL AND HIT DISCONNECT BUTTON- LIGHT WENT OFF. WHILE DRIVING JEEP TO WORK NEXT MORNING, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD FLASHED AND CAR SHUT OFF. JEEP WOULD NOT START. TIPM WAS FRIED WITH DISCONNECT MOTOR. WATER HAD GOT INTO CONNECTION BY SWAY BAR DISCONNECT MOTOR. THEY ARE NOT WATER TIGHT. HAVE READ OTHER STORIES OF HAPPENING DURING RAIN STORMS.
I WENT FOR BRAKES PRIOR TO 30,000. VEHICLE HAD 25,000 MILES AND THE ROTOR COULD NOT BE CUT... IT ROTTED THROUGH. I HAD TO REPLACE 1 ROTOR ALL OTHERS WERE FINE. COULD HAVE POSSIBLY AFFECTED MANY OTHER VEHICLES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING WIRING ASSEMBLY CAN LEAD TO NON DEPLOYMENT OF THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DOOR LOCKS ARE SPORADICALLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING AND NOT RESPONSIVE SOME OF THE TIME. ONLINE RESEARCH INDICATES THAT MANY OTHER 2011 JEEPS ARE ALSO HAVING FAULTY TIPMS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH AND GOING OVER A BUMP, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

I CURRENTLY OWN A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER THAT IS EXPERIENCING SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES. CURRENTLY THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND THERE IS A CHIME INDICATING SUCH. THIS CHIME OCCURS APPROXIMATELY EVERY 1 TO 2 MINUTES. AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME THE AIRBAG LIGHT PROBLEM OCCURRED, THE OTHER CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL SUCH AS THE HORN, CRUISE CONTROL AND RADIO CONTROLS STOPPED FUNCTIONING. I CONTACTED JEEP (CHRYSLER) ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WITHIN 24-48 HOURS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE. APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS WENT BY AND I HAD NOT HEARD BACK FROM JEEP. I CONTACTED JEEP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS ISSUE. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THE SAFETY CONCERNS WITH NOT HAVING A WORKING HORN AND A QUESTIONABLE AIRBAG. THIS DID NOT SEEM TO BE AN ISSUE THAT THEY WERE TO CONCERNED ABOUT. I'VE BEEN IN LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW, AND I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A FUNCTIONING AIRBAG. THIS IS COMING FROM SOME OF THE ACCIDENTS THAT I HAVE EITHER WITNESSED OR WORKED AS AN INVESTIGATING OFFICER. I HAVE FOUND THROUGH RESEARCH THAT SEVERAL EARLIER MODEL (2007-2008) JEEP WRANGLERS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SIMILAR ISSUES. THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND I AM SURE YOU HAVE RECEIVED COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE IN THE PAST. THIS IS MY SECOND JEEP AND THE COMPANY REPLACED THE PART THAT WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE BEFORE. IT WAS A 2007. THIS PART IS REFERRED TO AS A CLOCK SPRING AND COST OVER $500.00 TO REPLACE. I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE IS GRAVELY AFFECTED.
WHILE FRWY. DRIVING AT APPROX. 72 MPH / 2600 RPMS AND WITHOUT WARNING OR INDICATION OF MALFUNCTION, WE HEARD A POP, AND IMMEDIATELY NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE I NOTICED SMOKE AND FLAMES COMING FROM THE UNDERSIDE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT. MY FAMILY IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE VEHICLE AND I USED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE THAT WAS ENGULFING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE JEEP. AFTER EXTINGUISHING THE FIRE, I WAS ABLE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED A LARGE HOLE IN THE LOWER ENGINE BLOCK JUST BEHIND THE OIL PAN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. ADDITIONALLY, THE METAL HEAT SHIELD THAT SITS JUST TO THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE WAS BENT BACKWARD. IT APPEARS THAT THE ENGINE MALFUNCTIONED AND THREW A BEARING OR OTHER ENGINE PART THROUGH THE OUTER MOTOR CASING RELEASING OIL AND CAUSING THE RESULTANT FIRE AND DAMAGE. HOWEVER, I CAN NOT RULE OUT A COMPUTER MALFUNCTION RESULTING IN ENGINE FAILURE VS. PURE MECHANICAL ENGINE FAILURE. IT HAS BEEN OVER TWO WEEKS SINCE THE INCIDENT AND CHRYSLER HAS JUST INFORMED ME THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS UNDER THE EXISTING 5 YEAR/50,000 MILE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY THAT HAD NOT EXPIRED AND WAS PROVIDED AS PART OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE AGREEMENT IN JULY 2011. THEIR RESPONSE WAS "WE HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THE INSPECTION REPORT AND MUST INFORM YOU THAT WE ARE NOT LED TO BELIEVE THAT THE INCIDENT WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITY."
WHEN FILING THE GAS TANK WHEN THE PUMP SHUTS OFF THERE IS FUEL THAT COMES BACK OUT OF THE TANK. HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED TO FULL.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN TURNING ON AND OFF, IT IS MOSTLY ON. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS THE "CLOCKSPRING" AND IT WOULD BE ABOUT $500 TO REPAIR. I DECLINED TO REPAIR BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD IT RIGHT NOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE ROUTER AND BRAKE CALIPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPRINGS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000.
ON MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON UNLIMITED (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2007 AND NEWER JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING.
6/9/15 HAD TIRES REPLACED & ALIGNED MERCHANT'S TIRE. 1 DAY LATER TIRE WOBBLING TOOK IT BACK, THEY CLAIMED THEY COULDN'T ASSIST. TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP & BALANCE IT 3 TIMES IN 2 WEEKS. NOTICED WHILE DRIVING, COMMUTERS STAY ABOUT A HALF A MILE AWAY FROM ME & FLASH LIGHTS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MARLOW HTS, THEY CLAIM THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. TIRE STILL WOBBLING TOOK IT TO WAL MART AUTO, WHILE TRYING TO CHECK, THEY BROKE MY WHEEL LOCK! LOOKING FOR A TRUSTWORTHY PLACE TO FIX MY VEHICLE. NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO WORK THESE DAYS. A FRIEND JUST SENT THIS SITE & I LEARNED OF THIS DEATH WOBBLE THING IN JEEP WRANGLERS. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR 7 MONTHS NOW AND I'M LIVID!

I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER ABOUT 5-8 MPH WHEN I HEARD A POP TYPE OF NOISE. I THEN SAW A FLAME UNDER THE HOOD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. ALL OF A SUDDEN, MY THROTTLE LOCKED UP AND MY CAR WOULDNT STOP. I HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKES, BUT MY TIRES KEPT SPINNING. MY ELECTRICAL WAS LOCKED UP AND I COULDNT GET THE JEEP OUT OF DRIVE AND INTO PARK. MY BOYFRIEND RAN OVER, JUMPED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE TO TRY TO GET THE JEEP INTO PARK, AS I COULDNT GET IT TO MOVE. HE FRACTURED HIS HAND IN TWO PLACES GETTING THE GEARSHIFT TO GO INTO PARK. AT THIS POINT THERE WAS BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE UNDER THE HOOD. HE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT INTO PARK. AT THAT POINT HE HELPED PULL ME OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE JEEP AS THE FIRE/FLAMES WERE STARTING TO COME THRU THE DASHBOARD INTO THE INSIDE OF THE JEEP. IT TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR TO GET THE FIRE OUT, THEN APPROX. 15-20 MIN LATER THE FIRE STARTED AGAIN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V176000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
INITIALLY THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROL BUTTONS FRO THE COMPUTER WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THEN LOST THE FOLLOWING: INTERIOR LIGHTS, ALL SWITCHES IN THE SWITCH BANK, HEATED SEATS, ELECTRONIC TRACTION CONTROL, HILL DESCENT ETC. STOPPED WORKING. DEALER CHECKED IT OUT SAID THAT IT WAS A BAD TIPM. IT IS GOING TO COST $850 TO REPLACE BUT IT IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER, SO NO ESTIMATION AS TO WHEN IT COULD BE REPLACED. THIS UNIT CONTROLS EVERYTHING FROM THE FUEL PUMP TO THE AIR BAGS AND THE DEALER SAID THAT ANY OF THAT COULD STOP WORKING AT ANY MINUTE. *TR

MY GAS CAP KEEPS FALLING OUT AND A LIGHT THAT SAYS GAS CAP ON MY DASH WITH ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE THEY PUT IT ON THEIR MACHINE AND IT SAYS NEED TO REPLACE GAS CAP SO WE DID THE LIGHT DIDNT GO OUT BUT TODAY SEPT 8,2015 THE GAS CAP THAT I BOUGHT FELL OUT AND BROKE TO PIECES ON PAVEMENT GOING 55 MILES PER HR. 1. LAST YEAR I HAD TO REPLACE MY ENGINE BECAUSE CHRYSLER SAID IT RAN LOW ON OIL WHICH CAUSED ENGINE DAMAGE. I HAD 11 OIL CHANGES AND PROOF OF SERVICE FROM OIL CHANGE SHOPS THAT ENTIRE YEAR. I NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO BECAUSE I COULD NOT "SERVE" ANYONE AT CHRYSLER CORPORATION PROPERLY. 2. THE NEW ENGINE THAT I BOUGHT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY DID AN OIL COMPRESSION CHECK AND IT LOST ALL OF ITS OIL IN 1000 MILES. MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP NOW. CHRYSLER WILL COME BACK AND PROBABLY REPLACE THE ENGINE FOR FREE THIS TIME. 3. WHILE MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP THIS WEEKEND , IT WAS BROKEN INTO. BOTH WINDOWS BROKEN AND SPEAKERS STOLEN. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WOULD PAY FOR THIS AND FIX IT. WHAT I WANT IS NOT A NEW ENGINE. I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR THE ENTIRE JEEP SINCE THEY SOLD ME A CAR THAT HAS HAD TWO BLOWN ENGINES NOW AND I HAVE ALL THE RECIEPTS TO PROVE THE FIRST TIME I WAS NOT AT FAULT. I EXPERIENCED THE SO- CALLED DEATH WOBBLE LAST NIGHT AND THIS MORNING ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. I WAS GOING JUST ABOVE 40MPH. IT FEELS LIKE AN UNBALANCED WHEEL?
