ABS and check engine light. I am a rural mail carrier, because my ABS light is on it causes my jeep to not accelerate pulling away from mailboxes therefore putting myself and other drivers at risk. The problem has been reproduced at the dealer. Warning lights illuminated at 19687 miles and are still on to this day, no resolution from Jeep. Jeep engineer came to dealership and could not say what was wrong with vehicle.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER IT RAINED, WATER WOULD LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR SEALS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. SAFETY RECALL N28/NHTSA 13V-234 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE. I CALLED AS SOON AS I GOT THE RECALL NOTICE. THE DEALER TOLD ME TO CALL BACK IN A MONTH OR SO BECAUSE THE ITEM(S) WERE BACK ORDERED! I AM CALLING APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 MONTHS LATER. THE PART(S) IS NATIONALLY BACK ORDERED! I CALLED TODAY, 8/14/2014 AND IT IS STILL BACK ORDERED!!!! RECALL N28 WAS ISSUED IN SEPTEMBER 2013 BUT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AT MY DEALER, THEY SAID CHRYSLER ONLY GIVES THEM 2-3 REPLACEMENT PARTS PER MONTH AND THEY HAVE 100+ ON THE WAITING LIST SO I MAY NEVER GET THE PART FIXED. *TR

"ON THE 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING." *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP WRANGLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE MANUAL CLUTCH FAILED TO SWITCH GEARS. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CLUTCH. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,858.
THIS IS SPECIFICALLY REGARDING THE N28/NHTSA 13V-234 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE RECALL. WE HAVE WAITED FOR PERHAPS A YEAR FOR THE SPECIFIED PART TO BE DELIVERED TO THE DEALER. I AM NOW FACED WITH MOVING OVERSEAS WITH THE MILITARY AND CANNOT SHIP MY VEHICLE UNTIL ALL RECALLS ARE REMEDIED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. *TR

2013 JEEP WRANGLER WITH 15K MILES, MANUAL TRANSMISSION, VEHICLE PARKED IN GARAGE WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED, (HANDLE PULLED UP 4 CLICKS). VEHICLE STARTED AND PLACED IN NEUTRAL, ALLOWED ENGINE TO RUN AND EXITED FOR A BRIEF MOMENT, RETURNED TO FIND IT ROLLING OUT OF THE GARAGE AND DOWN MY FRONT DRIVEWAY, CRASHING INTO A CULVERT IN MY FRONT LAWN. THIS IS A SERIOUS AND VERY DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW WITH THE PARKING BRAKE BY CHRYSLER. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 30 + YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A VEHICLE NOT HOLD WITH THE E-BRAKE ENGAGED, (MAYBE WEAK BUT WILL ALWAYS HOLD ON BASICALLY A FLAT SURFACE SUCH AS A GARAGE). THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A KNOWN ISSUE, THERE ARE MANY FORUMS DISCUSSING IT. I HAVE ACQUAINTANCES WITH NEW 2011-2014 JEEP WRANGLERS WITH THE SAME PARKING BRAKE NOT HOLDING ISSUE. I FEEL THAT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT PEOPLE ARE MADE AWARE OF THIS DESIGN FLAW BY CHRYSLER. DEALER CONTACTED, THEY INSPECTED AND STATED ?PARKING-BRAKE WORKING?, THEY WOULD ADJUST BUT NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY (OVER 12K MILES). THE PARKING BRAKE HAS BEEN ADJUSTED, BUT I ALWAYS USE A CHOCK BLOCK ON THE WHEEL WHEN PARKED. I DO NOT TRUST THE PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY ON THIS JEEP AND FEEL THERE IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW. WITH A STANDARD TRANSMISSION THE PARKING BRAKE HAS TO BE RELIED UPON TO HOLD THE VEHICLE, THIS FLAW INHIBITS SAFELY LEAVING THE VEHICLE WHILE IT IS RUNNING. *TR
I'VE RECEIVED THREE NOTIFICATIONS BY CHRYSLER GROUP LLC SINCE SEPTEMBER 2013 FOR SAFETY RECALL ON TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE COMING IN CONTACT WITH POWER STEERING FLUID RETURN TUBE. I'VE CALLED THREE TIMES SINCE SEPTEMBER AND RECEIVED DIFFERENT RESPONSE.PARTS NOT AVAILABLE, TAKEN MY NAME AND NUMBER, WILL GET IN TOUCH, YOU'LL BE ON A LIST, ETC. NO REMEDY APPEARS TO BE AROUND THE CORNER. CHRYSLER OUTLINES WHAT THE DEALER WILL DO TO FIX THE ISSUE. WHAT ACTION NEEDS TO OCCUR FOR THIS TO HAPPEN??? *TR
BEEN NOTIFIED THREE TIMES BY CHRYSLER GROUP LLC IN MI USA OF SAFETY RECALL ON THIS NEW WRANGLER AND TO CALL DEALER FOR APPOINTMENT... HAVE CALLED THREE OR FOUR TIMES IN PAST MONTHS SINCE FIRST LETTER AND HAD VARYING RESPONSES... HAVE TO ORDER PARTS, TOOK MY NAME AND NUMBER, WILL SEND YOU A LETTER, WILL CALL, ETC. ALL IN PAST SEVERAL MONTHS. HERE IT IS NEAR SUMMER SEASON AND NO FIX FOR THE WRANGLER. WHAT ARE MY ALTERNATIVES HERE???? BOUGHT SEVERAL WRANGLERS FROM THIS DEALER SO NOT SURE IT'S THEIR DOINGS???? I WAS NOTIFIED LAST FALL THAT MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER RECALL. THE RECALL HAS TO DO WITH THE OIL COOLER TUBE COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE POWER STEERING RETURN TUBE WHICH MAY CAUSE A FIRE. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL CALLS TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND THE BEST THEY CAN DO IS PUT ME ON A "WAIT LIST" BECAUSE DAIMLER IS ONLY RELEASING ONE REPAIR KIT PER DEALERSHIP EVERY 10 DAYS AND I HAVE MANY PEOPLE AHEAD OF ME. IT IS NOW MAY AND STILL NO CALL, HOWEVER, I KEEP GETTING NOTICES TO GET IT DONE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A RECALL CAN BE PERFORMED IN THIS MANNER. NO ACCIDENT...YET. I HAVE RECEIVED 3 RECALL NOTICES IN THE MAIL FROM CHRYSLER REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE - SAFETY RECALL N28/NHTSA/ 13V-234 OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR. WITH EACH NOTICE I HAVE CALLED THE SUPERSTITION JEEP CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE. EACH TIME I AM TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER THE PART AND THEN CALL ME BACK TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. THERE IS NEVER A CALL BACK. WITH TODAY'S 3RD NOTICE, I WAS AGAIN TOLD THE PART WAS NOT IN. THIS TIME THEY SAID THE PROBLEM IS THAT ONLY A VERY LIMITED NUMBER OF PARTS HAVE BEEN SHIPPED OUT AT A TIME. IT SEEMS WRONG OF THEM TO HOLD BACK ON SHIPPING THE PARTS IF THEY KNOW THEIR IS A POTENTIAL RISK TO OWNERS. PER THE RECALL NOTICE, I AM ISSUING THIS COMPLAINT. *TR
I HAVE BEEN REGULARLY RECEIVING A NOTICE TITLED "SAFETY RECALL N28/NHTSA 13V-234 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE" FROM CHRYSLER MANY TIMES FOR THE PAST YEAR. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO PERFORM THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH I HAVE OFTEN TRIED TO SCHEDULED IT. THEY CONTINUALLY TELL ME THAT THEY CANNOT GET THE REQUIRED PARTS FROM THE FACTORY, BUT WHEN THEY DO THEY WILL CALL ME. I CALLED THE FACTORY RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER (1-800-853-1403) LISTED ON THE RECALL NOTICE AND THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED GAVE ME THE SAME STORY; "CHRYSLER IS HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE REQUIRED PARTS FROM THEIR SUPPLIER". I AM CERTAIN CHRYSLER HAS THE ABILITY TO BUILD ANYTHING, SO THE FACT THAT THEY SAY THEY CAN'T GET SOME SIMPLE HOSES BUILT IS A RIDICULOUS EXCUSE. IT IS CLEAR THAT CHRYSLER IS NOT RESPONDING SINCERELY TO THIS NHTSA RECALL. PERHAPS, LIKE THE CHEVY IGNITION KEY FOB ISSUE, COST VS SAFETY IS MORE IMPORTANT TO YET ANOTHER AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURER. NOTE THAT THE CHRYSLER NOTICE DID SAY THAT IF THE DEALER FAILS TO REMEDY THE DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME TO FILE A COMPLAINT AT WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV AND THIS FORM IS THE ONLY COMPLAINT FORM I COULD ACCESS FROM THAT SITE. RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE. HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED ON JAN 20, 2014. CALLED THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD AGAIN THAT THEY ARE RECEIVING ONE PART PER WEEK FOR THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP WAS WORKING ON VEHICLE #17 AND I WAS #42 IN THE WAITING LIST. AT ONE PART BEING ORDERED PER WEEK, IT WILL BE AT LEAST ANOTHER 25 WEEKS BEFORE I EXPECT TO HEAR THAT THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. *TR

WHEN I GO TO THE GAS STATION TO FUEL UP, I ENGAGE THE PUMP LOCK LEVER SO THE PUMP WILL FILL UP AND SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHEN MY GAS TANK IS FULL. UNFORTUNATELY, THE FUEL PUMP DISENGAGES TOO LATE, AND AN UNBELIEVABLY EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF FUEL WILL SPURT OUT, CASCADING DOWN THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS HAVE ATTEMPTED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, YET THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I HAVE FILLED UP AT GAS STATIONS ACROSS NO LESS THAN 10 DIFFERENT STATES - FROM THE WEST COAST TO THE NORTHEAST; WITH A VARIETY OF FUEL PUMP STYLES; AMID VARIOUS TEMPERATURES; YET THE ONLY VARIATION IS THE VELOCITY WITH WHICH THE FUEL SPRAYS FROM THE PUMP. *TR

ON SATURDAY, I RECEIVED THE SECOND NOTICE FOR RECALL ON MY VEHICLE (N28). I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR MONTHS TO HAVE THIS REPAIR DONE AND THE DEALER HAS A LONG LIST OF CUSTOMERS WAITING FOR PARTS. I AM CURRENTLY NUMBER 30 ON THE LIST. ANOTHER LOCAL DEAL HAS 40 PEOPLE WAITING. THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO WAIT 6+ MONTH FOR REPAIR PARTS FOR A RECALL. THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED IN JUNE OF LAST YEAR AND THE DEALER IS GETTING 1 TO 2 SETS OF REPAIR PARTS A WEEK. *JS

DEALER NOW, TWO MONTHS LATER TELLS ME THE MANUFACTURER IS ONLY RELEASING 1 PART A WEEK FOR RECALL CORRECTION. THIS SEEMS TO BE A POOR WAY OF REPAIRING RECALLS AS THE RISK CONTINUES.. TRIED TO START THE JEEP AND DASH READS HOTOIL, CHECK TPM SYSTEM, SWAY BAR LIGHT AND CHECK/SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON AND ENGINE WILL NOT START/ EVEN CRANK OVER. THE KEY FOB WILL NOT UNLOCK OR LOCK DOORS. THE LAST THING IS THAT CANT DISARM JEEP SECURITY SYSTEM. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

THE AFFECTED PARTS IN MY 2013 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED IS THE TRANSMISSION (MILEAGE 27,200). THIS EVENT HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THE FIRST TIME IT WAS TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP IN APRIL 2014. I WILL BE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR (I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAST OR SLOW I AM GOING OR IF I AM ON FLAT AND HILLY ROADS. I WILL HAVE TO PUNCH THE GAS AND ACCELERATE TO 60-65 MPH BEFORE THE GEAR SHIFTS. IT SCARES ME ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM ONLY DRIVING 30-40 MPH. THE RPM'S WILL BE UP TO 5000 AND FINALLY THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT GEARS. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS SERVICED FOR THE PROBLEM (APRIL 3, 2014) THE MECHANIC DID HAVE THE PROBLEM HAPPEN TO HIM WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE. THEY FOUND A VACUUM HOSE DISCONNECTED FROM THE AIR-INLET ELBOW. ONCE THEY FIXED THAT IT SEEMED LIKE THE PROBLEM SUBSIDED BRIEFLY(3 WEEKS) THEN RIGHT BACK TO GEARS NOT SHIFTING. I HAVE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 2 OTHER TIMES NOW AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, OF COURSE!!! I LOVE MY JEEP, BUT FEEL VERY UNSAFE WHEN DRIVING IT. ON FRIDAY MARCH 14, 2014 I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 1 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER ON HARMONY CHURCH ROAD (ROUTE 704) ON MY WAY TO MY SON'S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN A CAR SEAT IN THE BACK SEAT, DIRECTLY BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT. WHILE EN ROUTE, MY 2013 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED HIT DRIFTED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT TIRE WAS PULLED INTO SOFT MUD. I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE WAS PULLED TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND I WENT OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A TREE AND VARIOUS BUSHES. THE LOUDOUN COUNTY SHERIFF?S DEPARTMENT AND LOUDOUN COUNTY FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDED TO THE SCENE. MY HUSBAND AND I RECENTLY PUT LARGER TIRES AND RIMS ON THE JEEP AND A 3? LIFT KIT. MY HUSBAND COMMENTED THAT WITH THE LARGER TIRES AND THE RAISED HEIGHT, THE JEEP WAS MORE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL ON THE ROAD AND I HAD NOTICED THE VEHICLE VISIBLY ?WANDER? ON THE ROAD WHEN I HAD FOLLOWED MY HUSBAND WHILE HE WAS DRIVING THE JEEP. THE SHERIFF?S DEPARTMENT CALLED MY HUSBAND AT HOME AND HE RESPONDED TO THE ACCIDENT SCENE AND TOOK OUR DAUGHTER. BILL CONFIRMED THEY ARE ONLY ALLOWING DEALERSHIPS 1 PART EVERY 14 DAYS. WHY YOU ASK? BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO RUN OUT OF STOCK! MY DEALER LUCAS CHRYSLER AND JEEP, 1624 NEW JERSEY 38, LUMBERTON, NJ 08048, TOLD ME THAT CHRYSLER ISSUES ONE PART FOR THIS RECALL EVERY 2 WEEKS. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE A LIST OF OVER 25 CUSTOMERS WHO NEED TO HAVE THIS RECALL PERFORMED. AT THAT RATE IT WOULD TAKE ME CLOSE TO A YEAR TO HAVE THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION CORRECTED. SEVERAL MILES FROM HOME I CROSSED A BRIDGE DOING BETWEEN 45 AND 50 MILES PER HOUR AND THE JEEP STARTED BOUNCING AND SHAKING SO BAD (LIKE IT HAD 4 SQUARE TIRES) AND VEERING TO THE LEFT. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AS THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SHAKING SO HARD I HAD TROUBLE HOLDING ONTO IT. I BRAKED REALLY SLOW AND KEPT IT ON THE ROAD TILL IT CAME TO A STOP. TODAY (JAN.9, 2015) MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE JEEP AND CROSSED THE SAME BRIDGE WHEN I HAD THE FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THE SHAKING OF THE JEEP........NOW HE BELIEVES ME THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE JEEP. HE CALLED THE SALESMAN AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED.......ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT.
