There are 50 owner-reported air bags & restraints complaints for the 2014 Jeep Wranglerin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
FCA is not handling this recall professionally. Dealerships are stating they do not handle the towing, despite this being a DO NOT DRIVE recall that has resulted in deaths. FCA has used a call center that employs people who barely speak English. Lack of ability to communicate with the customer and dealership staff should disqualify someone from serving in this capacity. The service department at my local dealership seems to be suggesting I just drive the vehicle down, which contradicts the DO NOT DRIVE portion of this recall. I do not believe FCA is acting in good faith to perform these recalls in a safe manner for the customer.
The Clock Spring has been identified as being bad, (nothing in the steering wheel works). I have owned it for 5 years and it hasn't worked for at least 3-4 of those years. I don't know if it has been replaced... However, for something that is a safety concern, such as the airbags, I would think that it would work longer than 1-2 years... if it has been previously replaced. I can't find any records of it. The air bag lights have been on for a few years; I thought it was normal. I wasn't aware of any recalls on the clock spring/air bags until recently.
The airbag light is turning on and off, and I'm wondering if it's related to the same recall that was issued previously.
Driver side airbag warning light came on, took vehicle to dealer for inspection and report is the airbag system has a fault in it and whole system will need to be replaced. Vehicle is available for inspection, and issue has been confirmed by dealer. Told airbag unlikely to go off, but may not deploy in the event of an accident.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated the rear driver's and passenger's seat belts were ripped. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and confirmed that the seat belts were ripped and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000. The VIN was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated the air bags, and the traction control warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with needing the clockspring to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V288000 (Air Bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,500.

ALL MECHANICAL REPAIRS WERE MADE AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN 2014. BACK ON 6 FEB 2019 I ASKED THE MECHANIC THAT WAS REPLACING THE CLOCKSPRING IF THE REPLACEMENT PART HAD BEEN UPGRADED, IMPROVED, A DIFFERENT NEW UNIT ----"ANSWER WAS NO", IT'S THE SAME OLD JEEP INSTALLED ORIGINAL PART BY CHRYSLER /JEEP COMPANY. "IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED AGAIN" !!! MY QUESTION, IF I HAVE TO PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT CLOCKSPRING AGAIN, HOW MUCH I IT GOING TO COST ME AGAIN FOR THE SAME ORIGINAL PART THAT FAILS SO FREQUENTLY ??????
My dash indicates that there is a problem with airbags, service engine soon, tire, and brakes. My controls on the steering wheel will not work. My seat belt doesnt stay hooked. I sometimes smell like a oil burning smell. Had to replace oil housing. And suspension feels very loose. My vehicle is not in recall, but make and model are with all recalls needing fixed. What do I do now?
Was in a car accident in which my jeep wrangler sport rolled twice and the front end is smashed. The car adjustors reviewed it as totalled out. The driver, I was the driver, airbags did not deploy. I'm highly concerned with this considering the damage to the vehicle and the wreck happening at a speed of over 50 mph.
The vehicle has a drivers side airbag fault and problem with the clockspring. This is not a recall but seems as though it should be as other models have recalls for the exact same thing.
According to the dealership the part for this recall is on indefinite back order with no eta of arrival I want to know why I can’t get my recall fixed if it’s saying parts are readily available
Clock Spring failed, Left multi function switch failed, air bag recall
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V018000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE GOT THE MACHINE ATTACHED THE CODE READ PO520 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT. WHEN WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY ANY LONGER AND WOULDN'T REPAIR. WHILE I RESEARCHED WE FOUND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT WAS ISSUED PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION. THE OIL SENSOR SHOULD HAVE AND COULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRING IF THE DEALERSHIPS WERE MANDATED TO NOTIFY AND FIX ALL REPAIRS RELATED TO DEFECTIVE PARTS. DURING MY RESEARCH WE FOUND THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS A RECALL IN EXTENDED WARRANTY STATUS. REGARDLESS IF WE GOT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A DEALERSHIP TO SELL A USED VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG OR A RECALL. IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL FOR ME NOT TO GET IT FIXED OR MY REGISTRATION CAN BE REVOKED. I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS COST TO REPAIR EITHER OF THESE ITEMS. I AM JUST ASKING YOU TO PLEASE TAKE THESE ISSUES SERIOUSLY AND TO HAVE BOTH THESE PARTS REPLACED. IF THIS WASN'T BAD ENOUGH, THIS TIME OF YEAR, COVID AND MY CURRENT FINANCIAL SITUATION IT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME. PLEASE HELP ME.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT AND AUDIBLE TONE COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY GOES AND COMES WHILE DRIVING AND OR IDLING. PASSENGER SIDE INFLATOR WAS REPLACED WITH RECALL. RESEARCHING THIS WARNING MANY 2014 JK'S ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. RESEARCH POINTS DIRECTLY TO THE CLOCK SPRING. FCA USA SHOULD REPLACE THE PART AS A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR RHD JK'S AND MANY LHD JK'S ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.
THE BACK SEAT BELT WRAPPED AROUND MY DAUGHTERS NECK AND THE LOCK MECHANISM WOULD NOT RELEASE AND EVERY TIME SHE PULLED ON IT THE BELT GOT TIGHTER UNTIL THE POINT SHE FAINTED AND COULD HAVE DIED HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR A PASSERBY CARRYING AN ARMY KNIFE, ALLOWING US TO CUT THE BELT THEREBY FREEING HER. ALMOST A DEATH SITUATION OUT OF THE BLUE. THIS HAPPENED WHEN WE WERE DRIVING AND THEN STOPPED IN A PARKING LOT TO RELEASE HER.*DT*JB*DT*DT*JB*JB*JB*DT*JB
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT DOES NOT ALWAYS STAY LATCHED IN PLACE. WHETHER OR NOT THE LATCH IS CONNECTED, IT SHOWS THAT THE SEATBELT NEEDS CONNECTED AND THE CHIME CONTINUOUSLY RINGS, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WORRIED WHETHER THIS WILL AFFECT OTHER SAFETY FEATURES, IN THE VEHICLE. ESPECIALLY THE AIRBAG. THIS ISSUE STARTED ON JULY 27, 2020.

I HAVE RECEIVED TWO NOTICES ABOUT THIS AIRBAG RECALL. BOTH TIMES I CALLED THE SAME JEEP DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY HAD THE PART. THEY NEVER RETURNED A PHONE CALL EITHER TIME. TODAY, I CALLED A 2ND DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE FIXING THE RECALL IN A MATTER OF DAYS. THE FIRST DEALERSHIP THAT IS COMPLETELY ABDICATING THEIR RESPONSIBILITY IN REGARDS TO THIS RECALL IS JAKE SWEENEY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 85 W KEMPER RD, CINCINNATI, OH 45246; (513) 782-1000
WHEN DRIVING OR STATIONARY THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND A DING FOLLOWS. IT HAPPENS NO MATTER THE SITUATION WHEN I MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL.
