THE SEATBELT WILL NOT RETRACT AFTER BEING FULLY EXTENDED WHILE DRIVING. THE SEATBELT WILL THEN BE STUCK IN THE FULLY EXTENDED POSITION WHILE DRIVING.
I HAVE A 2018 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SPORT AND A COUPLE MONTHS AGO I HAD AN ERROR MESSAGE POP UP SAYING SERVICE SHIFTER NOT EVEN A WEEK LATER MY JEEP STARTED FLASHING LIGHTS INSIDE AS WELL AS THE ENGINE START STOP WARNING CAME UP AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. EVERYTHING THEN WENT AWAY FOR A LITTLE BIT AND THEN IT STARTED TO COME BACK BUT NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND IS STAYING ON THIS TIME.

TRAVELING WEST ON I 40 IN WILMINGTON NC APPROX 70 MPH WHEN VEHICLE BEGAN TO SUDDENLY SHAKE VIOLENTLY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. MY WIFE BECAME SO SCARED AS SHE DROVE, WE HAD TO PULL OVER AND I HAD TO TAKE OVER DRIVING. SHE WILL NOT DRIVE THIS JEEP AGAIN. I'VE NEVER SEEN A VEHICLE SHAKE SO VIOLENTLY AS IF THE ENTIRE FRONT END WAS ABOUT TO FALL OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR ANY SECOND. NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, I THINK IT DEFINITELY IS A SAFETY ISSUE. 3 LANE HIGHWAY, 70 MPH, CARS ON EVERY SIDE OF YOU AND YOU HAVE TO SLAM ON BRAKES, OR THE INSTINCT IS TO SLAM ON BRAKES BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO DIE OR NOT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS FRONT END ISSUE WITH JEEP WRANGLER.
WHILE DRIVING, THE BATTERY VOLTAGE LIGHT CAME ON. WE MONITORED THE VOLTAGE AND NOTED THAT IT WAS DROPPING QUICKLY FROM AROUND 11.7 TO A LOW POINT OF ABOUT 8.9. WHEN THE VOLTAGE GOT THAT LOW, MANY DIFFERENT WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED, ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET GOING UNDER 20 MPH. IT WAS IMMEDIATELY AFTER A TURN. CAUSE OF ISSUE IS UNKNOWN. THE DAY BEFORE, THE BATTERY VOLTAGE WARNING LIGHT HAD COME ON. I DID SOME BASIC DIAGNOSTICS AND DID NOT LOCATE AN ISSUE WITH THE BATTERY CONNECTIONS OR BATTERY ITSELF.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS I HIT 2 OR 3 SMALL BUMPS CONSECUTIVELY ON THE PA TURNPIKE. THE CAR STARTED TO WOBBLE AND STEERING WHEEL SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAD HAPPENED...COULD NOT REGAIN CONTROL, HAD TO DOWNSHIFT RAPIDLY TO DECREASE SPEED AND GET CONTROL. LUCKILY, AT THIS TIME, THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME BUT THERE ARE SO MANY PLACES ALONG THE TURNPIKE WHERE YOU'RE JAMMED BETWEEN CONCRETE BARRIERS, IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY SCARY.
STEERING INTERMITTENTLY BECOMES VERY TIGHT / LOCKED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE MORE COMMON IN COLD WEATHER BUT DOES HAPPEN IN SUMMER AS WELL.
I WAS GOING AROUND THE CORNER AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP MAKING IT TO WHERE I HAD TO PULL HARD THE OTHER WAY JUST TO UNLOCK IT. AND WHEN I FIRST GOT THIS VEHICLE THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERED WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF OWNING THIS JEEP. AND NOW THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKING UP AND ALSO MY CONTROLS ARE NOT WORKING ON MY STEERING WHEEL AND THE COLUMN IN THE MIDDLE AC HEATER HEATER ALL THE CONTROLS.
2018 JEEP WRANGLER. CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING, VIBRATING AND RATTLING. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE STEERING DAMPNER FAILED AND NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED, THERE WAS A RECALL PERTAINING TO THE FAILURE BUT, THE VEHICLE'S MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE DASH AND GAUGES' LIGHTS WERE BOUNCING AND FLICKERING. THE WIRING HAD BEEN DAMAGED AND THE DEALER WOULD NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY. *JS
I FEEL VERY UNSAFE TRYING TO KEEP MY JEEP GOING DOWN THE ROAD IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE STEERING RANDOMLY AND OFTEN WANTS TO JUST TAKE OFF TO EITHER SIDE OR THE OTHER ON PERFECTLY SMOOTH ROADS AND GENERALLY 'WANDERS' FOR NO REASON. I PRETTY MUCH DREAD IT WHEN I NEED TO DRIVE IT NOW. IT'S BASICALLY A FIGHT.
SUN VISOR FALLS OUT OF THE PLASTIC BRACKET. IS NOW HELD IN PLACE ONLY BY THE ELECTRICAL WIRE. THE SMALL PLASTIC CLIP HOLDING IT IN PLACE HAS BROKEN. APPEARS BY ON-LINE COMPLAINTS TO BE A PROBLEM EXPERIENCED BY MANY! MANY BROKE WELL BEFORE 40K MILES MINE BROKE ABOUT 1000 MILES PAST WARRANTEE ENDED. WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME. I'M ACTUALLY EXPECTING THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR TO BREAK ANY TIME. IN MY OPINION, HORRIBLE DESIGN FLAW.
WHEN GOING AROUND CORNERS AROUND 60MPH STEERING LOCKS UP AND WHEN FORCED TO TURN IT UNLOCKS AND SWERVES LEFT OR RIGHT DEPENDING ON THE CORNER. WORSE IN COLD CONDITIONS. VERY DANGEROUS IF IN TRAFFIC!
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP AND SAW AN ARC FLASH AND PULLED TO THE SIDE EMERGENCY LANE. I THEN SAW FLAMES DRIPPING FROM MY JEEP AND THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE JEEP WENT UP IN FLAMES AND CAUGHT FIRE.
A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2018 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA, I BEGAN EXPERIENCING REGULAR SHAKING EPISODES WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE SHAKING STARTS AFTER DRIVING OVER A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. AT FIRST I COULD GET THE SHAKING TO STOP BY SLOWING THE VEHICLE DOWN SOME, BUT THE PROBLEM QUICKLY PROGRESSED TO WHERE THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE SLOWED DOWN TO A COMPLETE STOP TO END THE SHAKING. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO HAVE HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY, AND IS ESPECIALLY TERRIFYING TO TRY AND MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THERE IS HEAVIER TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD. MY JEEP HAD FEWER THAN 18,000 MILES AND WAS IN SERVICE LESS THAN 2 YEARS PRIOR TO BEING BROUGHT INTO THE DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP. I HAVE SENT THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT LETTER VIA CERTIFIED MAIL AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH MARYLAND'S CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION (ATTACHED). MY JEEP HAS BEEN AT THE REPAIR SHOP FOR 3 MONTHS ALREADY, AND I WAS RECENTLY NOTIFIED THAT THE NECESSARY REPAIR PART IS NOT EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE FOR ALMOST 3 MORE MONTHS.
WHEN THE TEMPERATURES ARE COLDER I CAN NOT STEER THE VEHICLE. DRIVING ALONG GOING AROUND A CURVE AND THE JEEP WILL NOT TURN
IIF I DRIVE OVER 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE STARTS TO SHAKE LIKE A DEATH RATTLE. IT BECOMES HARD TO CONTROL AND ALMOST CAUSES AN ACCIDENT
AS THE CUSTOMER WAS DRIVING IF A FORWARD DIRECTION, TRAFFIC CAME TO A VERY FAST DECREASE IN SPEED CAUSING THE DRIVER TO APPLY THE BREAKS HARDER THAN NORMAL BREAKING. THE DRIVER FELT AND HEARD A LOUD POP, FOLLOWED BY A BIG JERK AND VIOLENT SHAKING. SOMETHING APPEARED TO BE DIGGING INTO THE GROUND AS THE DRIVE CAME TO A STOP.*DT *TR
DEVELOPED SPEED WOBBLES (OR DEATH WOBBLES) WHEN DRIVING ON 95 NORTH , GOING JUST 60 MPH .THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN ABOUT 1/2 PERIOD . HADN'T HAPPENED BEFORE , BUT WAS VERY DANGEROUS . SEEMS TO BE A MORE COMMON PROBLEM THAN I THOUGHT (SEARCHING TEH INTERNET)
2018 JEEP ONLY HAS 25,000 MILES AND VIBRATES VIOLENTLY WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP DRIVING OVER 50 - 60 MPH. HARD TO CONTROL. THIS HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY AND ON STREETS WHERE SPEED PERMITS.

STARTED UP MY VEHICLE AND BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. REALIZED I COULD NOT TURN LEFT. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TOTALLY LOCKED UP TO THE LEFT SIDE. I BRAKED AND STARTED TRYING TO TURN THE WHEEL. THEN IT LOCKED UP A SECOND TIME AS I TURNED RIGHT. THE WHEEL BECAME STUCK TO THE RIGHT. IT TOOK A LOT OF FORCE TO EVENTUALLY BREAK THE WHEEL FREE.
I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVE, TURNING RIGHT. NO PROBLEM UNTIL A LEFT TURN, AND I COULDN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT. I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 35 MPH WITH NO TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD OTHER THAN MYSELF, SO I HAD TIME TO MOVE THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT AND THEN BACK TO THE LEFT AND I HIT SOME RESISTANCE AND THEN IT STARTED WORKING NORMALLY. ABOUT ONE MILE DOWN THE ROAD IT OCCURRED AGAIN. 0830 HRS, DRY ROADS, SUNNY, 34 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE, IT HASN'T HAPPED AGAIN.
AXLE LOCKER SYSTEM HAS FAILED, I GET A CONTINUOUS WARNING THAT IT HAS FAILED. THIS IS A PROBLEM NATION WIDE THAT I CAME TO REALIZE AS I RESEARCH IT ONLINE. IT OBVIOUSLY IS A PROBLEM THAT IS EFFECTING A LOT OF 2018. CAN YOU PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, THANK YOU
I TOOK MY JEEP IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT BECAUSE IT STARTED MAKING A CLICKING SOUND. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM TO REPAIR THE JEEP. THE ACTUAL WORDING WAS "UPON INSPECTION FOUND IMPACT DAMAGE ON LOWER RIGHT CONTROL ARM. DROP DOWN SHACKLE BRACKET FROM FRAME HAS BROKEN AT WELD POINTS. RECOMMEND TAKING TO THE BODY SHOP FOR REPAIRS." THE SERVICE MAN TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE NOTICED WHEN I DID THIS... I HAVE NOT DONE ANY OFF ROADING RECENTLY AND HAVE CERTAINLY NOT DONE ANYTHING TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE. THEN I LOOKED AT THE ISSUE..... I ALSO HAD A PROFESSIONAL WELDER LOOK AT IT... THE WELD WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY. THERE IS NO WELDING MARKS ON THE SECOND PART OF THE WELD.*DT*JB*DT*JB
STANDARD 2018 JEEP WRANGLER, NO MODICATIONS, FACTORY TIRES, RECENTLY SERVICED WITH OIL CHANGE. DAY, DRY CONDITIONS, NO ROAD HAZARDS. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROX 70 MPH, THE ASPHALT AREA AROUND AN OVERPASS IS A LITTLE HIGH, AND WHEN OUR FRONT TIRES MADE CONTACT WITH THE UNEVEN SURFACE, THE CAR IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND WOBBLE FOR OVER 45 SECONDS TO A MINUTE, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOBBLED EXCESSIVELY WHILE I WAS TRYING TO TROUBLESHOOT THE MALFUNCTION, AND MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE JEEP. I PROCEEDED TO SLOW FOR TO APPROX 40 MPH USING MY BRAKES LIGHTLY, AND MAINTAINING A GRIP ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH I COULD BARELY HOLD ONTO AND THE OSCILLATIONS, WENT AWAY. I RESUMED ACCELERATION BACK TO 65-70 MPH, AND AGAIN ENCOUNTERED SOME MORE UNEVEN PAVEMENT. THE ENTIRE EPISODE RE-OCCURED AND WAS SO VIOLENT THAT I NEEDED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUTDOWN THE CAR AND VISUALLY INSPECT FOR DAMAGE. THE SHAKING WAS SO VIOLENT, I THOUGHT SOMETHING MIGHT HAVE BROKEN, OR THE TIRES WERE ABOUT TO FALL OFF. THIS CAR HAS APPROX 16,000 MILES, AND NEVER HAD ANY DAMAGE. THIS IS THE 6TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.IN THE PAST TWO YEARS AND IT ONLY HAPPENS ON TARMAC TYPE SURFACES, WHILE GOING 60-75 MPH.
THERE IS A VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN INITIATED BY A BUMP OR POTHOLE. IT IS KNOWN AS THE DEATH WOBBLE AND HAS TRIGGERED AT LEAST ONE RECALL. THAT RECALL REPAIR WAS DONE TO MY VEHICLE BUT IT HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. THE JEEP IS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW AND THEY ARE TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING AT VARIOUS HIGH SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOBBLED UNCONTROLLABLY WITHOUT WARNING AFTER GOING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GLENDALE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP (900 S BRAND BLVD, GLENDALE, CA 91204) WHERE IT WAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE DEALER WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE DEATH WOBBLE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS FAMILIAR AND THAT ENGINEERS WERE WORKING ON A REMEDY TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING GEAR BOX. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 18,000.
UNABLE TO CONTROL STEERING AT HIGH WAY SPEED 65MPH JEEP SHOOK VIOLENTLY UNABLE TO CONTROL ! . VEHICLE ALMOST FLIPPED OVER
WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL MODE ON A HIGHWAY DOING SPEED OF 70 MPH WHEN COMING TO A SLIGHT BUMP IN THE ROAD ON A CURVE CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO SEVERE SHAKING MODE, EVEN AFTER CANCELING THE CRUISE CONTROL BY EITHER BRAKING OR CANCELING MANUALLY IT CONTINUES. THE ONLY WAY IT STOPS IS IF I PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY AND STOP THE CAR COMPLETELY.
TOOK JEEP IN FOR A RECALL ON STEERING STABILIZER AND WAS CHANGED BUT STILL GETTING THE "DEATH WOBBLE" WHEN I DRIVE OR 50MPH AND HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD
WITH NORMAL STREET DRIVING - DRY CONDITIONS AND GOING 30 MPH MOVING STRAIGHT THE 'SERVICE AXEL LICKING SYSTEM' WENT ON. BECAUSE OF FALSE MESSAGES THAT CLEAR THEMSELVES I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN. IT DID NOT CLEAR. NOW IT SHOWED EVERY TIME I START UP MY JEEP. SEEMS THIS IS QUITE A PROBLEM IN 2018 JEEPS. ON JEEP FORUM THERE ARE OVER 100 COMPLAINTS AND THE REPAIR SHOP SAYS THE PART TO CORRECT IS BACK ORDERED FOR 6 MONTHS.
THE WIRING GOING TO THE STEERING COLUMN KEEPS SHORTING OUT MAKING IT SO THE HORN, STEERING WHEEL ELECTRICAL BUTTONS AND LIKELY AIRBAG STOP WORKING. THE DEALER SAYS IT IS THE CLOCK SPRING. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE PURCHASED WITH 12000 MILES AND REPLACED TWICE. AT 22000 MILES THE DEALER CANNOT KEEP IT FUNCTIONAL. I'M CONCERNED THAT THE LACK OF FUNCTIONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENT COULD LEAD TO INJURY OR DEATH. THIS ALSO LEADS TO LOSS OF VALUE IF THE MANUFACTURER CANNOT PROVIDE A SOLUTION.
MY 2018 WRANGLER VIOLENTLY SHAKES WHEN HITTING ANY SMALL BUMP ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 50+ MILES PER HOUR. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND EVERY TIME IT FORCES ME TO UNSAFELY SLOW DOWN TO WELL BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT OR PULL OFF OF THE ROAD UNTIL IT STOPS.
FRONT END WOBBLE OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (55-65)MPH DURING LANE CHANGES OR HITTING BUMPS IN THE ROAD. THIS GIVES A FEELING OF STEERING WILL CAUSE KEEP TO GO OUT OF CONTROL. SEVERE BRAKING IS ONLY REMEDY RIGHT NOW. IT CAN CAUSE ACCIDENT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS
PRESSURE PLATE BROKE CAUSING CLUTCH TO BURN OUT IN LESS THAN A MILE DRIVE. JEEP HAS 41K MILES ON IT AND ITS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP AWAITING REPAIR
SINCE PURCHASE THE STEERING WANDERS EXCESSIVELY, THIS LEADS TO DRIVER FATIGUE ON LONGER TRIPS BECAUSE I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO KEEP THE VEHICLE CENTERED. EVEN WITH THOSE ADJUSTMENTS WHEN ON A LONGER TURN ON THE INTERSTATE THE VEHICLE IS JUST NOT RESPONSIVE TO INPUT TO MAINTAIN A SMOOTH RADIUS TURN. I DON'T HAVE ANY SORT OF SHIMMY OR SHAKE AND I'VE HAD IT TO MY DEALER FOR INSPECTION, EVEN PAID FOR AN ALIGNMENT OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE I WAS CONCERNED. I KNOW HAVE 42K MILES ON IT AND JUST OUT OF MANUFACTURER WARRANTY AND FCA HAS ISSUED A TSB FOR REPLACING THE STEERING GEAR FOR THIS EXACT REASON HOWEVER, BECAUSE THIS ISN'T CONSIDERED A POWERTRAIN COMPONENT OR A SAFETY ISSUE I AM OUT OF LUCK. THIS ISSUE IS DESERVING OF MORE ATTENTION DUE TO THE NEAR UNCOOPERATIVE AND UNCHARACTERISTIC STEERING BEHAVIOR.
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THROUGH A DOUBLE CURVE ON A CITY STREET THE STEERING LOCKED UP ON MY 2018 JEEP WRANLGER. A STEERING ERROR, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHT ALL CAME ON. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THIS IS NOW THE 3RD TIME THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TWICE VIA TOW). EACH TIME, THE SCANNER HAS GIVEN THE SAME CODES YET FCA HAS RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME STATED ITS FIXED. THE STEERING LOCKING UP COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT HARMING MYSELF OR ANOTHER VEHICLE.
BOUGHT A CERTIFIED USED 2018 JEEP WRANGLER JKU WITH 41300 MILES AFTER A MONTH AND ABOUT 1200 MILES LOCKED 4X4 IN DRIVING IN MY FIELD TO CHECK MY CATTLE GOT BACK ON ROAD TOOK 4X4 OUT DROVE ABOUT A MILE HEADING HOME SMELT BURNING SMELL FROM TRANNY SMELT LIKE CLUTCH HEARD BANG MOTOR REVED UP QUIT MOVING PIECE OF CLUTCH CAME THREW TRANNY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STAND STILL, WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT FAILED TO RELEASE AND THE PLASTIC ADJUSTER DISINTEGRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER ZAPPONE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM CLIFTON PARK LOCATED AT 1780 AL-9, CLIFTON PARK, NY 12065, (518) 383-2277, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE REAR SEAT RELEASE ASSEMBLY TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,000.
THE CURRENT WRANGLERS HAVE A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM WITH STEERING. BECAUSE JEEP USED ALUMINUM STEERING BOX AND GEARS, AS OPPOSED TO STEEL, THERE IS AN UNACCEPTABLE AMOUNT OF "PLAY" IN THE STEERING, SPECIFICALLY ON CENTER. WHILE DRIVING AT 45MPH OR ABOVE, I CAN TURN THE WHEEL ALMOST A FULL INCH IN EITHER DIRECTION AND THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND AT ALL. THERE OTHER DAY I WAS ON A HIGHWAY WITH UNEVEN PAVEMENT AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY BECAUSE I COULD NOT CONTROL THE CAR. JEEP HAS NOW ISSUED A TSB REPLACING THE ALUMINUM BOX WITH A STEEL BOX. THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS TSB PERFORMED STATE IT FIXES THE STEERING. I TOOK MY JEEP INTO MY DEALERSHIP 3 WEEKS AGO, WHILE HAVING JEEPCARES, THE NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR FCA, INVOLVED FROM THE START. FIRST THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE I HAD AN "AFTERMARKET" LIFT. WHEN I TOLD THEN THE LIFT WAS NOT AFTERMARKET AND IS MOPAR, THEY DEMANDED A RECEIPT TO PROVE IT. I BOUGHT THE LIFT OVER 1.5 YEARS AGO SO NO LONGER HAD A RECEIPT. THE ISSUE WAS ESCALATED UP THE CORPORATE LADDER MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL THEY FINALLY AGREED TO REPLACE THE STEERING BOX UNDER WARRANTY. THERE HAD BEEN INSTANCES OF JEEP OWNERS COMING IN FOR THIS TSB BUT DEALERSHIPS WERE NOT REPLACING THE STEERING BOX WITH THE STEEL VERSION PER THE TSB, JUST PUTTING IN ANOTHER ALUMINUM BOX. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. THE MAIN POINT OF THIS IS THIS STEERING ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. THE DEALERSHIPS ARE PUTTING FORTH EVERY EFFORT NOT TO DO THE WORK. AND THE PROBLEM IS SO BAD THAT FCA IS ONLY LETTING DEALERSHIPS ORDER 1 STEERING BOX PER WEEK, DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING NUMBER OF JEEPS WITH DANGEROUS STEERING AND DEMAND FOR THE PART. VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE DAY. WE WHERE GETTING READY FOR A TRIP AND THAT NIGHT IT RAINED AND WE NOTICED WHEN MOVING THAT WAS A WATER LEAK. THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM THE CENTER OF THE FREEDOM PANELS. THE WATER DRIPPED ON THE ELECTRICAL MIRROR THEN ON TO THE RADIO AND FINAL INTO THE AUTOMATIC SHIFTIER. THIS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AFTER ON THAT DAY SINCE IT WAS A RAINY DAY THEN AFTER.
HAD ISSUE EARLIER THIS YEAR THAT CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF WHEN BRAKE WHERE APPLIED. NOW IT DOES NOT EVEN WORK. VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 54,000 MILES ONLY WHEN I TRIED TO TEST IT SINCE THE LAST INCIDENT.
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE AT 65-70 MPH IT STARTS SHACKING IF YOU HIT A POT HOLE OR A CRACK ON THE ROAD AND IT CONTINUES TO SHACK FOR ABOUT 5-6 MINS.
A DOING A BRAKE JOB FOUND THAT THE LEFT SIDE, FRONT AXLE WAS LEAKING. VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 53,500 MILES.
THE 2018 JEEP WRANGLER BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS IN OCT OF 2019 WITH A RACING ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES, MAY OF 2020 THE CAR HAD SEVERE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 5 DAYS. IN JUNE THE SAME ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS OCCURRED AND IT WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 6 DAYS. WHEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO US THE DEALERSHIP SAID NOT TO DRIVE IT VERY FAR. ON JULY 23RD. THE CAR WENT ROGUE IN REVERSE AT 60 MILES AN HOUR BACKWARDS. NO PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR, IT JUST TOOK OFF, IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT WORK. IT WAS IN OUR DRIVEWAY.
I WAS DRIVING THE SERVICE DRIVE OF A MAJOR FREEWAY IN DETROIT GOING ABOUT 30 MPH. I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT..NO TURNS. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. I THOUGHT THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE WAS FALLING OFF. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED THE CAR. I DROVE HOME WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES.

THE JEEP CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY YESTERDAY ON THE I95 HIGHWAY AT NORMAL SPEED.
EXCESSIVE PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL. THERE IS A DEAD ZONE FROM 1-2" LEFT AND RIGHT. VERY HARD TO STEER ON HIGHWAYS AND THE JEEP WANDERS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. DID NOT DRIVE LIKE THIS BEFORE AND I'VE HAD IT FOR TWO YEARS. AFFECTS IT AT ALL SPEEDS BUT IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY.
