The contact's son owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH and pulling into a parking lot, the vehicle felt like one of the front tires was not rotating. The contact was able to pull into a parking space. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the driver's side front tire was not rotating. The contact and a bystander noticed that the driver's side front tire was not rotating because the front brake caliper was protruding through the rim. The contact's husband arrived at the scene, removed the tire, and zip tied the caliper to the frame, and the vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the brake pads, rotors, and the calipers were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the front brake lines had rusted internally, causing the brake lines to collapse. The dealer informed the contact that the failure prevented the brake fluid to reach the brakes, which remained close to the rotors and had burned out. The dealer determined that the front driver's side brake line, rotors, calipers, and the brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,100.
UNKNOWN what failed because it burned to the ground. August 8, 2025 The Jeep was running and driving normal. I pulled over into Robert Louis Stevenson Park parking area to let my kids (ages 3 and 4) out for a potty break. I left the vehicle running since it was hot and the AC was on. As I was getting my first child out smoke started pouring out of the passenger side wheel well and hood, coming from the engine compartment. I got my kids out in a hurry and there were flames within about 45 seconds. The Jeep was fully engulfed within about 2 minutes. Fire department took 12 minutes to arrive on scene and extinguish the Jeep fire and accompanying tree that had caught on fire. All of my belongings inside the vehicle were destroyed and not covered under the vehicle insurance policy. I am grateful I managed to get my kids out of the car and to safety and that we are all okay, but this was an extremely dangerous situation and we are lucky we pulled over where we did. I reached out to Stellantis, and they sent out an investigator, but he was bound by privacy rules with them, and nobody ever told me what they found other than Stellantis sending a letter saying "they are not led to believe it was a manufacturing responsibility." Additionally, there was a police report filed with Napa, CA California Highway Patrol Office, as another car was melted a bit during the incident. There were ZERO warnings that anything was wrong with the vehicle while driving. Nothing to indicate that something catastrophic was about to happen or that anything was wrong at all. The Jeep only had 27,000 miles on it and had been dealer serviced its entire life and only 1,000 miles prior to this incident as well.
My car randomly illuminates every light on the dashboard and my speedometer will say zero mph and I lose all power steering and have to put my car into neutral and roll to a stop because my brakes won’t work either. Then I cannot turn off the ignition or accessory. Check engine light is on and my car starts but there are no brakes or power steering. Thankful my kids were not in the car!
On August 6, 2025, while driving at approximately 65 mph on the highway, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of motive power. The engine warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle would not accelerate, forcing an emergency maneuver across multiple lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder. This failure occurred just one day after a warranty repair for the same issue, and followed a previous 199-day repair for a known camshaft defect. This sudden power loss in highway traffic created an extreme and unreasonable risk of a high-speed collision and serious injury.
Front bracket control arm snapped due to bad welding
Paint, bubbling and corrosion not declared as a defect by the jeep dealership. I would have never purchased knowing this information. I am looking for a goodwill repair of the defect of mixed metal causing corrosion on the body. Jeep states I am out of the extended warranty for repair. I am hoping to open a claim to get a repair of this manufacturing defect that was not disclosed in good faith to me.
After filing my first concern with the vehicle and attempting to rack my brain with answers to why a 2018 is falling apart at the seams, I can only come up with either fraud, or the vehicle has been modified in major ways and glued together only to fall apart every bump I go over. After some reading I’m questioning 49 CFR part 565 form that was turned in after I purchased the vehicle means that I possibly have a replica, “remanufactured”, or altered vehicle. I’m not sure of the legality of selling a vehicle built from whatever vehicles I have, I do know that parts are not all the same years upon scanning modules I got some strange replacement identifiers that I will send. I also question if it really passed emissions being that my short term fuel trim sensor passed the catalytic converter on both sides stays over 99% consistently, also one of the “inspection” reports was done 2 minutes apart and the paper states that the vehicle passed at 5:08 then failed at 5:10 pm the same day. Not many vehicles tend to try again after passing and 2 minutes apart. I would have never bought a vehicle that not only has random foreign parts but a 2015 vehicle is also showing up under module information. I’ll never have recall information, and it seems that every system in the vehicle meant to warn or save me and my family when driving is compromised completely, yet somehow someone was allowed to pretend that I was buying a 2018 jeep Sahara unlimited with no record on carfax that what I am paying over 50 grand for with tax doesn’t just get bad gas and jump half the road when I hit a bump “because it’s a Jeep”. I should have been made aware that I was buying something scrapped, and that the odometer could be from any of them. I would like to receive a report of the form filed months after I purchased the vehicle and my entire jeep changed description and was no longer being monitored for safety. The IPC, BCM, TCM, and ECU aren’t properly communicating, and panels are all shifting.
Jeep randomly shuts off while actively driving. I have automatic JL. Screen shows to service clutch. All dash lights come on, no buss bar detected, ABS, No traction control, Airbags, park sense off, check engine, steering locks up. Engine shuts off while driving. MPH screen goes blank all electrical stops working. Connector behind stock bumper is expised to the elements causing shortage. Putting my life in danger everytime I drive
On [XXX] while driving my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport (VIN: [XXX] ), the braking system failed without warning while I was approaching a stop sign on a residential road. I pressed the brake pedal and felt extreme resistance and grinding, followed by a near-total lack of braking power. I was forced to abruptly swerve into an open driveway to avoid a collision. This sudden malfunction put my life and the safety of others at serious risk, especially had it occurred on a highway or near pedestrian traffic. The affected component appears to be part of the braking system—likely the master cylinder, brake booster, or brake line integrity—but a full diagnosis is pending inspection. There were no warning lights or messages displayed on the dashboard at any time prior to or during the failure. The vehicle gave no indication that a malfunction was imminent. Immediately after the incident, I parked the vehicle and did not attempt to drive it again. As of now, the issue has not yet been formally confirmed by a dealer, but I am in the process of getting it inspected by a certified independent mechanic, and I am willing to make the vehicle and its components available for inspection upon request. I also plan to provide documentation once the evaluation is complete. I only recently purchased this Jeep from Carvana a few months ago, and it is extremely concerning that such a critical failure could occur so soon. The vehicle has two completed recalls related to steering and rear windows, but none that address braking—making this unexpected failure even more alarming. I believe this could indicate a larger pattern or potential defect that has not yet been officially acknowledged or addressed. This event was dangerous and could have resulted in a serious accident. I am requesting that this complaint be formally investigated, and I am open to cooperating fully with NHTSA, Chrysler, or any affiliated parties in reviewing the failure and addressing issue. The engine blew while I was driving on the highway without warning. Several repairs since January and have had the car at just 2 years. Maintenance has been kept. Dealership replaced radiator, head gasket repair, etc. since just February. Car was towed to dealership. 2 holes in engine at the bottom. Dealership claims they don't know why. After researching this particular engine and car, I feel that vehicle has a lot of issues. I don't feel that it is safe. I think a safety recall should be considered.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the LD screen and instrument cluster were inoperable. The contact was unable to view critical safety information like the speedometer, warning lights, and the fuel gauge information. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the system was reset. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being on back order. The contact called the manufacturer and the parts company and sent an email to the CEO. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
All of our warning lights would come on at once we would lose steering power then it would go dark. We’d have to pull over shut it off then we’d have to wait at least 30 minutes before we could get it back in gear to drive it anywhere. This has happened more than three times. We now have it in a dealership and want to know, I think there was a recall on it in September but we did not get a letter so we want to know how to file the paperwork to get this fixed very disappointed with this we just put 2500 into it for new camshaft and now this is going to cost us around 600. I don’t have the receipts right now to download but I can upload them when I get the copies. Just wondering what help we can get it was very scary when all the power shuts down we were very lucky not to be in an accident
After purchasing seems the vin was updated with information I was not disclosed. The bcm has never worked correctly the instrument panel is erratic and even with a code reader showing P codes there’s no check light. The steering makes the entire vehicle jump over half a road. Blind spot monitors don’t know what to do sometimes they are unavailable, odometer has all 9s sometimes. I did all the checks on the vehicle at the time and what I was given showed I had a 2018 4 door Sahara and that was what I was led to believe. After having issues and getting my registration I started looking at everything more because the dealer registered me as a commercial passenger truck(still don’t know why) but found a report that says Moab/sahara and my seems my vehicles body chasis and motor are all over the place. I’m pretty sure the engine is failing as at one point in one of the reports I found it stated it failed emissions. But the overall worst is that the suspension looks like it came off the titanic compared to the body panels, there’s a lot of welding and rusted or “appearingly tampered” pieces in the chassis and the vehicle seems to be coming apart at every seam. I am currently not driving it because it looks to have sank down to where it could be dangerous I’m pretty sure the suspension, frame, and axles aren’t rated for what’s on it and sounded like something may be coming off at the wheel or axle area last time I did drive it. The vehicle I thought I was purchasing had safety guidelines and there is 2.0 parts, 3.6 parts on this along with random other countries parts. It was bought used “As-Is” but not under the pretense that they assembled it by hand from leftovers. It wouldn’t pass safety standards or emissions in a foreign country much less in the UNITED STATES. I am starting here but will be seeking legal counsel. No longer certain I even have a jeep frame or chassis or just some panels stuck to a rusting timebomb. I’ve only drove like 8,000 miles. Now I’m scared to
Instrument cluster panel needs replacing as odometer reading is 9999999 when turning the car on. Showing as a known issue in this make/model vehicle yet this VIN is not included for some unknown reason. Would like this included for reimbursement.
I have experienced an Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) display failure, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This failure poses a direct safety risk to myself, my passengers, and others on the road. The display initially flickered and flashed, which created a driving distraction, and now it has gone completely blank. Without the IPC, I cannot monitor the speedometer, fuel level, warning lamps, or other vital vehicle information. I believe this condition violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 101 regarding the accessibility and visibility of required controls and displays, thereby increasing the risk of a crash. The issue has been inspected by an independent service center, which confirmed the failure and encouraged me to contact the manufacturer about a potential recall. There were no warning lamps, error codes, or messages prior to the failure. The first symptoms appeared a couple of months ago when the display began flickering intermittently. Since then, the problem has worsened to the point where the display now rarely turns on at all.
This is a follow-up to NHTSA Complaint Number 11684726, submitted to provide additional information after the dealer diagnosis confirmed the defect. My 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara has experienced a complete Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) failure, which has been diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Jeep dealership. The instrument cluster remains blank during vehicle operation and is available for inspection upon request. As a result, I cannot view critical safety information including the speedometer, fuel level, warning lamps, turn signals, and other required driver displays. This creates a significant safety risk, as I am unable to monitor vehicle speed or receive warning indicators while driving. The vehicle has also experienced related electronic failures consistent with network communication disruption, including loss of the center infotainment display, radio failure, and HVAC malfunction with the defroster stuck in full operation and unresponsive to controls. Stellantis has declined repair assistance despite dealer confirmation. This failure mode is consistent with Recall 24V-652, which identifies internal instrument cluster failure resulting in blank displays. However, my VIN is not currently included in the recall population. Given the confirmed failure and safety impact, I respectfully request NHTSA review whether additional VIN ranges, including my vehicle, should be included. Vehicle: 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport Unlimited VIN: [XXX] Mileage at failure: 40,631 miles Issue Date: [XXX] Component: Engine / Cooling System / Head Gasket My 2018 Jeep Wrangler began experiencing overheating issues at approximately 40,000 miles. The engine cooling fan was frequently running on high, and I noticed an increase in coolant loss. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership, where a hydrocarbon test was performed and failed — confirming a likely head gasket failure on the driver-side cylinder head. The technician suspected a defect in the cooling system. I was quoted $4,500 just for engine disassembly, before any repairs. The vehicle is now undrivable and is being sent to another independent shop for a second opinion, costing an additional $250. My Wrangler has been properly maintained, and there is no evidence of abuse or neglect. I have attached a dealership invoice and diagnostic notes. This kind of failure should not occur on a well-maintained vehicle with only 40,000 miles. After researching the issue, I discovered that other Jeep owners have reported similar overheating and head gasket failures, particularly in models equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar engine. Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 18-078-18 Rev A describes cooling system concerns that may contribute to this type of failure. I believe this may indicate a broader defect in the engine or cooling system. Stellantis has not responded to my repeated requests for assistance. I am filing this report to document the issue and request a formal investigation, as this may be part of a wider pattern of early engine failure affecting this vehicle model. Tire size LT295/55R20 123/120Q E Driving on highway in fast lane going 65/70 mph heard a pop, moved over to slow lane , car started shaking and veering to right. Pulled over and got out on shoulder to see tire wall had separated from tire. I have driven 7000 miles , had them installed professionally by Tire Choice on April 20th 2024. Date today June 20th, 2025.
The check engine light came on in my car. I was waiting for the dealer to call me to fix it for the 3rd time. I was on my way home when every electrical option on the vehicle turned on- wipers, lights, dash lights, brake- which caused the car to brake- then it turned off and I had no brakes, the car had no steering, it accelerated and I went off the road.
The dash board stared to flash all sorts of symbols check engine light, auto start stop, sway bar disconnect unavailable, shifter problem. And then the power steering does not work, sometimes the throttle has no power, and sometimes the engine shuts off.
My dash board instrument cluster stopped working. No warning signs, just stopped. How is my vehicle not part of the dashboard cluster recall for 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler JL?
My Jeep began misfiring, giving a P0304 error code via the ODB. On June 2nd 2025, we took it to the Sandy Sansing CDJR Dealership. They determined that my 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine needed a new camshaft and lifters, despite having only 42,609 miles on it. To further complicate things, it took the dealership over a month to get a replacement camshaft in and installed, due to an abnormally high demand for replacement camshafts; this suggests a systemic problem with the engine, especially considering the problematic history of earlier versions of the 3.6L Pentastar V6 (1). https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2014/MC-10069161-0335.pdf
The steering gear box on my Jeep Wrangler has an active technical service bulletin regarding the faulty alluminum steering gear box causing wandering in the steering of the vehicle on all 2018-2020 Jeep Wranglers. This repair is a known issue by FCA as they have a service bulletin regarding the issue. However they have not recalled the defective parts and refuse to cover replacing the defective parts unless the vehicle is still under warranty, or at a substantial cost to me. When I purchased my Jeep from Westgate Jeep in Raleigh, NC in late September 2024 at 84,000 miles the TSB had not been completed by the original owner. The Jeep is lifted but was sold to the original owner in that manner. It is a Rocky Ridge package that was sold the way it still is to the original owner. My safety and the safety of my family is at risk in the vehicle because it wanders excessively in the road. The incident consisted of passing 18 wheeler driving by in the opposite direction causing the Jeep to wander excessively to the right off of the edge of the road causing near loss of control and potential roll over. The issue has been found by my certified mechanic to be related to excessive movement/flexing in the steering gear box. The mechanic drove the vehicle and also noticed the wandering steering. FCA/Jeep should not be allowed to refuse to repair such a significant known issue with vehicles that they manufactured with defective parts they should be held accountable and made to recall and repair those defective parts. There are no active warning lights on the vehicle and a recent alignment was done by a certified mechanic when the tie rod and tie rod ends, drag link and drag link ends, ball joints and steering dampener where replaced. All tires are balanced and have equal wear the steering gear box is the only component of the steering system that has not been replaced and the issue remains. Please reference Mopar T.S.B. 08-074-20 REV. B regarding the known issue. Thank you.
My ABS module has failed. Should be a simple fix however Jeep does not have this part available to be purchased. After doing a lot of research into this part it is a Mopar only part and there are thousands of people trying to find this part. This part is a vital part to the ABS system and is causing a lot of people to have to drive without it. Something needs to be done to ensure the safety of everyone that is going through this issue.
Vehicle loses power steering while driving and is near impossible to steer when this happens. If in a curve i'm afraid the vehicle will not respond in time and leave the roadway or cross into oncoming traffic.
I was driving about 65 MPH and was turning with the road and my Jeep started to shake violently. I just about lost control of the vehicle. I pulled over on the Interstate to check and see if I had a flat on a front tire or if the wheel was falling off of the Jeep. It was a very scary and unpleasant experience to have at 4:30 am going to work. Not sure what the problem is with the suspension or steering, but I thought for sure I was going to get in a wreck and Traffic is really heavy which would have been very bad for many drivers!
ABS malfunction. Power steering and brakes go in and out of operation due to a communication error. All lights come on dash, engine light stays on. Occurs mainly when vehicle is hot during summer or above 65mph highway driving. Safety concern as vehicle power steering is unpredictable during this time. The Drive shaft locks in park and requires manual override when lights are on, but then without intervention, all the lights go away except the engine light and it runs fine. ABS modules are on back order with no ETA because this is a recurring problem for many. Once new abs module is put it, problem can be confirmed and more details can be given by auto repair services.
The check engine light came on, I took it to the dealership from where I purchased it and always take for oil changes and repairs. I was told I need a right cam shaft replaced and that the part is on back order indefinitely. I was advised by one mechanic to not drive it and a different one said to go short distances and if the check engine starts flashing to immediately pull over and shut it off. I am paying a payment and insurance on a vehicle that I cannot drive while having no end in sight and no other options. There were over 12,000 people in line ahead of me a month ago.
My Jeep's steering is excessively loose. There is a good amount of dead space in the steering wheel that the vehicle does not respond. The vehicle wonders left to right constantly and have to continue to correct for it's action. It becomes more of a safety hazard when there is a slight wind or passing or being passed by a larger vehicle like a truck for instance. The vehicle also shifts let and right depending on road conditions, meaning cracks in the pavement or pot holes of any size. I feel very unsecure or unsafe particularly at higher speeds. Please help and thank you in advance.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle slid before coming to a stop. The contact stated that the traction control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle with ABS failure, and determined that the braking system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, who related the failure to the ABS module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
There is a recall for the vehicle VIN I have entered however the dealership is telling me that my vehicle doesn't qualify even though it was purchased in the US and I was not aware of recall and I just purchased it in March 2025. When I took it to a Dodge dealership regarding the pressure plate recall they would not take the vehicle.
I have read a lot about the "Death Wobble." It appears there has been no recall on this but I believe there have been many incidents. Almost every day that the vehicle is driven and we hit a bump in the road going between 30-45 miles the steering wheel shakes aggressively. Would you not call this a definitely a safety hazard? The second issue is the dash board reading goes blank occasionally. Unable to see the speed and or gas usage. Both issues I would say are safety issues. It appears that many Jeep owners have faced the same issues. Neither of these issues have been inspected. I don't feel that we should be responsible for the cost of the inspection. Jeep should stand behind their product.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the contact became aware that the instrument panel was dark. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the instrument cluster failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 61,308.
The 3.6L Pentastar engine has a know engine problem with the Cam, valves, lifters. I am a lucky enough to have the same ticking issues as millions of other unsuspecting customers. They was just quoted $6,000 dollars for the repair at our local Dodge dealer for a know defect on this particular engine. This issue should be brought up to US consumer protection and be covered by the manufacturer. My 2018 Jeep has 71,000 miles! The Engine should not have a catastrophic failure this early in its life.
First it was my clutch blowing up including the transmission from underneath me while I drove down a hwy. Then it was a month later before I got it back. (I'm single, and it's my only vehicle). Once I got my jeep back the start/stop button stopped working. I had to lock/unlock with the key fob for it to start. Even with both fobs in the jeep. Now every code, 101 to be exact) is being thrown out of nowhere. Every light goes off, the wipers start going off, the sway bar and traction control disconnects while I'm driving along with the steering wheel locking up while I'm driving down the hwy. The brakes are pulling very badky to the left and /or right. The entire thing is absolutely a death trap. I can't believe this was passed by someone who has the customers best interest for safety. I'd like to know if any of this is recalled because it's been every jeep from 2018-2021 that have this issues. Also 5th gear now vibrats pretty bad.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the instrument panel had gone blank while driving at moderate speeds. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System); which the contact linked to the failure. The contact searched the VIN on the NHTSA website and discovered that the VIN was not included in the recall. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
The jeep screen delaminates which will cause 'ghost taps' on the screen. These ghost taps could do anything that can be changed in the vehicle while still or driving. For example, while driving at highway speeds, the rear view camera will activate on the screen causing a major distraction from driving. Additionally, anything else can happen from dailing random phone numbers, calling 911, turning the heat to high or off, changing any setting.....all while driving. Driver distraction is a major cause of accidents and a known delamination issue must be investigated. This is a common issue for certain model years of the jeeps or similar FCA cars.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the stability control and traction control warning lights along with several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The power steering and fuel gauge were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the Can Buss Connector to the circuit board located behind the glove box had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the part was on back order and not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 54,000.
The primary component that failed is the brake caliper, which caused a dragging brake, overheating, and visible smoke after a brake pad replacement. This is a defect in a critical safety system, not routine wear and tear. The caliper failure, combined with rapid deterioration of the pads within only seven months of purchase, makes clear that the Jeep was sold to me with preexisting and undisclosed defects. The defective caliper and removed parts remain available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others were directly at risk. A dragging brake drastically reduces stopping ability, can cause sudden brake failure, and creates a fire hazard when smoke and heat build up. These risks make the vehicle unsafe for road use. In addition, there is a well-documented steering defect known as the “death wobble.” Some sources classify this under a recall, while others describe it as covered only by an extended warranty. This inconsistency has prevented me from obtaining clear assistance despite the serious safety implications. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by a certified Jeep dealership. I have service records, dealer inspection notes, and photos documenting the condition, including metal-on-metal wear, dragging brake, and resulting smoke. The vehicle has been inspected by dealership technicians and is also under review with FCA, who have assigned a claim number. When I initially sought assistance, I was told the failures were “wear and tear.” That is inaccurate, as no reasonable consumer could cause this level of brake and steering deterioration in such a short period. I have been forced to pay out-of-pocket for defects clearly present at the time of sale, even though Carvana, SilverRock, and FCA denied responsibility. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, consumers are protected when vehicles are sold with hidden defects, regardless of warranty status. This Jeep was sold in unsafe condition. The caliper failure and death wobble are preexisting hazards
The Jeeps Instrument Cluster went blank. There is nothing on the screen. No speed gauge, indication of the amount of gas, temperature, etc. This is a safety issue with speed and gas.
The instrument cluster went out on the vehicle. I cannot see my speed, how much gas, temperature of the coolant, etc... The whole instrument cluster went completely blank.
My 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has experienced repeated no-start failures and electrical/CAN-bus communication issues. The vehicle has intermittently failed to start and ultimately became completely inoperable. Due to the electrical failure, the vehicle was towed to an authorized Jeep dealership on June 8, 2025. Despite remaining in the dealership’s possession for several months, no diagnostic testing or repairs have been completed. The electrical failure prevents safe and reliable operation of the vehicle and poses a risk of being stranded without warning. As of December 2025, the vehicle remains inoperable and unrepaired.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The dealer informed the contact that the parts were on backorder. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
It is the death wobble. I took the car in once. My cars started violently shaking when I would hit 58 Miles per hour and curve to the left, or the right and shakes so uncontrollably that I would have to tap the brakes but not too hard. Is I did not want to go off the road period there were cars that were behind me. That would shoot off to every direction trying to get around me. And yes, of course it's dangerous. Not supposed to be going down the interstate. Drinking a d*** Bloody Mary anyways. I took it into 2 dealerships. There are car places around where I live. They went ahead and diagnosed it and charged me $5060 or no 70 something. To fix it and it was even worse, so I brought it back to them. They tried to balance the other tire but that did not work, and that is the point where the other mechanics came over and said, that's the death wobble, which I had never heard of. He then told me about the staring damper, which then I looked everything up and saw that you had a class action settled where you were supposed to take cars in and fix them. However, this person seems scared of their own shadow, so who knows, but I asked for the history to see if anything had been done? And you guys, Jeep or Jeep, refuse to give it to me, said I would have to call the dealership, I called the dealership, they said, oh we don't give you a copy of that. I said, well, why wouldn't you? I mean, it is my car that I'm buying from y'all and they said, yeah, sorry, we don't do that. You'll have to get like a car, fax or something. I'm like, hold on, you guys. Sure, don't want to pay for anything. Considering this whole entire thing. Is your fault? And uh, the fact that you guys asked for a Vin number in order to fix my vehicle is ridiculous because whether you had the Vin numbers stored or not, it's a 2018, and I got the d*** death wobble. Now, mine happens to be a limited edition golden eagle. And you will see in the videos. I told them it was going to end up costing them a lot mor
This part is required to make the vehicle drivable. 68661147AA intake camshaft. The vehicle has been off road in a dealership since 2/26/2025. No part is available; we are told more than 10,000 are backordered. This is a daily driver. The vehicle is 2018 with only 78,000 miles. No known answer to why the part failed however with this many backordered parts it is clear there is an ongoing and significant issue related to this.
The instrumental panel started blinking two days ago and now is completely out. I'm unable to read speedometer or my gas gauge.
The brake line and caliper. The safety of myself and my children were at risk. Yes it has been confirmed as a problem from a dealer mechanic. It has not been inspected by police or others listed. There were no warnings or symptoms. It started smoking and the car shook while driving. This has now happened twice.
Having issues with the instrument panel cluster. It intermittent flickers and has gone black several times. The issue is the same as recall 30B from Mopar. My VIN is not included in the recall even though it falls under make, model and years affected. I feel that it should be replaced due to safety concerns. This issue has happened 4 times in the last month.
I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL series. I was driving down the highway, and the soft top latches sheared off, causing the top to rip back off the top of the Jeep. These clips fell down inside the car and sharp plastic pieces hit my sunglasses. The place where they sheared off was not at any boat locations or latching sections. This year was at the curve where it boats on to the soft top roof frame. The flat section where the sheer occurred was about 2 1/2 inches to 3 inches by only a quarter inch thick. This thickness was not substantial enough to hold the roof locked down tight. This could have created an accident as I was going down the highway at 60 miles an hour almost losing control of the vehicle. I have visited the dealer and called Jeep. Customer care they offer no support. I feel like this is a substantial safety issue that could cause someone to lose control of the vehicle and endanger themselves and others.
Engine oil cooler - This Mopar factory part is sub par. It is made out of metal and plastic and placed in the hottest spot of the vehicle and fails at approx 50, 000 miles. After I have done some research at local garages, this item failure is very common. I think Jeep Chrysler Dodge needs to take action for a recall.
