WHEN ON ANY HIGHWAY AND REACH SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND HIT A HOLE/BUMP THE WHEEL STARTS TO SHAKE.
WHEN I CRANK UP MY JEEP START BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND MAKE THE TURN TO GET ON TO THE ROADWAY MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AS I AMD DRIVING FOWARD ALMOST CAUSING ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. THEN ABOUT 1/2 MILE DOWN THE ROAD I CAME TO A ROUNDABOUT, IT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR MENTO ENTER AND EXIT THE ROUNDABOUT, AND FOR A SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN ONE MILE THE LOCKING UP OF MY STEERING WHEEL COULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO WRECK AND KILL MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 4 DIFFERENT TIMES WITHIN THE 7,000 MILES MY JEEP HAS ON IT, SOMTHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE A LIFE IS LOST TO THIS DEFECT.
RIGHT AROUND 7000 MILES, I BEGAN EXPERIENCING DEATH WOBBLE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE DEATH WOBBLE IS INITIATED WHEN SPEEDS ARE GREATER THAN 35MPH AND THE WRANGLER HITS AN IMPERFECTION (BUMP, SEWER CAP, HIGHWAY BRIDGE EXPANSION GAP, POTHOLE, ETC). THE WRANGLER'S STEERING WHEEL BEGINS SHAKING/OSCILLATING VIOLENTLY BACK AND FORTH AND DOES NOT STOP UNTIL THE VEHICLE SPEED IS BROUGHT DOWN TO A STOP. THIS IS NO FUN WHEN IT HAPPENS TO YOU AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO FCA BUT THEY TOLD ME THIS IS NORMAL FOR A FIXED-AXLE/SOLID-AXLE VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT NORMAL, IT IS ACTUALLY QUITE DANGEROUS. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE.
VEHICLE SHAKES AND VIBRATES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AFTER A BUMP IN THE ROAD IS HIT. ONCE IT WAS SO VIOLENTLY AND CONTINUOUS THAT I HAD TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE VEHICLE SO THE SHAKING WOULD STOP. I WAS TOLD THIS IS "DEATH WOBBLE" A KNOWN ISSUE IN JEEP VEHICLES. BECAUSE I LEASE THIS 2018 WRANGLER, I'D LIKE KNOW IF THERE IS A LEMON LAW PROTECTING ME AS A LEASOR SO THAT I MAY EXIT MY LEASE.
THE VEHICLE WILL UNEXPECTEDLY PULL TO THE LEFT WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS OCCURS AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AND WILL WORSEN THE LONGER THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. I HAVE DEMONSTRATED THIS TO MULTIPLE DEALERSHIP SERVICE ADVISERS AND ALL ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE ISSUE HAVE NOT WORKED. THE LAST ATTEMPT A FIX BY A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD CHRYSLER DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS AT THIS TIME. I BELIEVE THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT ESPECIALLY IN POOR ROAD CONDITIONS.
1. RADIO STARTS TO GLITCH WHEN OUTSIDE TEMP DROPS BELOW 36 - 38 DEGREES. IF THE TEMP STAYS COLD LONG ENOUGH THE GLITCH DOES NOT RETURN UNTIL THE TEMPS GO BACK UP AND THEN DROP AGAIN. 2. WHEN THE GLITCH STARTS - BACKUP LINES DISAPPEAR IN THE REAR VIEW CAMERA PREVIEW. 3. PULLING FUSE 97 BRINGS SYSTEM BACK TO NORMAL. 4. MAKING A PHONE CALL IS NOT AFFECTED. IT WORKS PERFECT EVEN IF SYSTEM IS GLITCHING. (IF THIS WORKS PERFECTLY SHOULD IT BE ASSUMED THAT THE AMPLIFIER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT?) 5. IF ENGINE IS ON BUT NOT RUNNING SYSTEM WORKS PERFECTLY.... ONCE YOU START IT UP IT WILL GLITCH AGAIN.
WHEN CAR IS DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY 60 M/H AND ABOVE, WHEN YOU HIT A POT HOLE OR MANHOLE, EXPERIENCE VIOLENT STEERING WHEEL/FRONT END VIBRATION 'DEAT WOBBLE'. IT'S STARTED WITH ONLE 5000 MILES ON A CAR.
*UPDATE* BEEN TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES AND GOING BACK FOR A 5TH FOR THE "DEATH WOBBLE" AND "WANDERING STEERING". THEY'VE TRIED TO FIX THE WOBBLE, BY REPLACING THE STABILIZER/DAMPER WITH AN AFTER-MARKET, WHICH THEY COMPLETED, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. SIDENOTE* I OPENED UP A CASE W/ FCA AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THIS SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN DONE BUT MAY HAVE BEEN DONE BECAUSE THE OEM NEW MODEL STABILIZER WAS ON BACK-ORDER. REPLACED THE AFTER-MARKET STABILIZER/DAMPER AND PUT ON ANOTHER OEM AND YET, THE ISSUE STILL EXISTS (DEATH-WOBBLE). "STEERING WANDERING" HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED. I'VE GOT ANOTHER APPT. AT ANOTHER JEEP DEALERSHIP ON 1/14/19. WILL UPDATE AFTER MY APPT. TO SEE IF THERE'S AN IMPROVEMENT.
DRIVING AROUND 40 MILES PER HOUR ON THE STREET, SUDDENLY IT HAD NO POWER, I STOPPED AND THE TRANSMISSION WONT TAKE ANY OTHER GEAR EXCEPT PARK.
WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD DRIVING 60 MPH OR HIGHER YOU LOSE CONTROL OF STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY
ON 1/2/2019 I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN THE MORNING. THE FRONT END STARTED WOBBLING RAPIDLY AFTER HITTING A POTHOLE ON THE HIGHWAY. MY SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 70 M.P.H. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND SLOWLY BRAKED. THE WOBBLE DID NOT STOP UNTIL I WAS AROUND 55 M.P.H. I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CENTER LANE BECAUSE TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AND RUNNING PAST ME IN BOTH LANES. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS OCCURRED. THE FIRST TIME I JUST THOUGHT IS WAS A FLUKE BECAUSE I HIT TWO POTHOLES IN A ROW. THAT HAPPENED ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO. I AM MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY DEALER FOR A SERVICE INSPECTION. I HAVE FELT SMALL WOBBLES SINCE I GOT THE VEHICLE. THESE TWO WERE SUSTAINED AND ONLY STOPPED AFTER SLOWING TO AROUND 55 MPH.
2018 JEEP WRANGLER JL RUBICON 300 MILES STEERING IS VERY SLOPPY AT ALL SPEEDS. STEERING IS VERY SOFT AND UNRESPONSIVE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO WANDER FROM SIDE TO SIDE IN THE LANE WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. STEERING DOES NOT HOLD POSITION, OR REMAIN CENTERED, VEHICLE DRIFTS IN THE LANE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. ALMOST CONSTANT CORRECTION IS NEEDED TO KEEP VEHICLE MOVING IN A SOMEWHAT STRAIGHT LINE NEED TWO HANDS ON WHEEL AT ALL TIMES TO KEEP IN LANE WILL NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE
AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WHEN TRAVERSING BUMPS OR EXPANSION JOINTS, VIOLENT FRONT END SHAKING OCCURS UNTIL VEHILCLE SPEED IS REDUCED BELOW 45 MPH. STARTED OCCURING AFTER VEHILCLE WAS PAST 10,000 MILES.
MY JEEP SHAKES VIOLENTLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD OR ANYTHING THAT IS UNEVEN. IT'S NOW AT THE DEALER FOR THE 4TH TIME THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG. I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS TRUCK IT'S DANGEROUS.
DEATH WOBBLE. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS LOOSE CONTROL OF WHEEL REQUIRING IMMEDIATE SLOWDOWN. VERY DANGEROUS. ALSO ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION GETTING STUCK IN LOW GEAR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE.
DEAD ZONE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE VEHICLE WANDERS AND REQUIRES CONSTANT STEERING WHEEL ACTION TO MAINTAIN LANE CONTROL.
WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND IT STARTED SHAKING TERRIBLY WHEN I HIT A BUMP. HAD TO PULL OVER. HAPPENED THREE TIMES TODAY. I'VE NOTICED IT RANDOMLY ON OTHER RDS BUT NEVER THIS BAD.
AT EXPRESSWAY SPEEDS 55 - 70 MPH, WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS A SMALL BUMP OR TRANSITIONS THE PAVEMENT LIKE ON AN OVERPASS, VEHICLE WOBBLES AND STEERING WHEEL SHACKS. JEEP HAS 5000 MILES AND IS STOCK. THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP WHERE WE DROVE OVER 50MPH.
DEATH WOBBLE. I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING DEATH WOBBLE - ESPECIALLY DRIVING OVER BRIDGE CONNECTIONS - GOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. MINI DEATH WOBBLE ON BUMPY PAVED ROADS. MY 2018 JLU NOW HAS 25K - I'VE OWNED IT FOR 9 MONTHS. IT STARTED A MONTH OR SO AGO- DEALER REPLACED STEERING STABILIZER. STILL NOT FIXED. GOING BACK TO DEALER FOR THE 2ND TIME ON 2/19/19. THIS JEEP IS UNSAFE!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE JEEPS & ALSO OWN ANOTHER OLDER YJ. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM & NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
LOSE STEERING. CAN TURN THE STEERING WHEEL CONSIDERABLY WITHOUT TURNING THE WHEELS. THIS MAKES TRYING TO DRIVE STRAIGHT EXHAUSTING AND DANGEROUS. MEETING OR PASSING LARGE RIGS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS.MY DEALERSHIP DENYS AN ISSUE.
MY CAR IS SHAKING NON STOP AFTER I HIT A BUMP ON THE ROAD, IT CAN LAST UP TO 1 1/2MINUTE NON STOP. TOOK INTO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD AFTER 1 WK THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I HAVE UNDER 5,000 MILES ON MY CAR.
WHEN HITTING A POTHOLE, BRIDGE CONNECTION, OR OTHER LARGE BUMP AT SPEEDS OF 60+ MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL AND VEHICLE SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THIS REQUIRES A DRASTIC REDUCTION OF SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY, ALONG WITH TIGHT CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THE SPEED REDUCTION IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO YOU AND OTHER VEHICLES NEAR YOU, LET ALONE THE VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING POTENTIAL MECHANICAL PROBLEMS AND HUMAN ERROR. QUICK FIX AT JEEP DEALERSHIP REPLACING STABILIZER ACTS AS A BAND AID WITHOUT ANY ACTUAL SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE.
A VERY EXTREME VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL OCCURS AT CERTAIN TIMES WHEN AN UNEVEN ROAD IS ENCOUNTERED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ALSO KNOWN AS DEATH WOBBLE. THE STEERING DAMPER WAS REPLACED AND DOES NOT SOLVE THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE MUST BE PULLED OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND A COMPLETE STOP MUST OCCUR BEFORE CONTINUING ON. UNTIL THIS PROSES HAS BEEN COMPLETED IT FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE IS LOOSING CONTROL BY THE OPERATOR. THIS USUALLY OCCURS AT A SPEED OF 45 MILES AN HOUR ON UP.
VIOLENT STEERING WHEEL SHAKING AND FRONT END STEERING SHAKING WHEN DRIVING OVER ROAD IMPERFECTIONS OVER 60 MPH. LOOSE AND WANDERING STEERING RESULTING IN MULTIPLE STEERING CORRECTIONS TO REMAIN STRAIGHT IN LINE ON A FLAT STRAIGHT AND LEVELED SURFACE. WRANGLER WAS IN DEALERSHIP FOR MORE THAN 40 DAYS TOTAL FOR BACKORDERED PARTS AND REPAIRS. WRANGLER PICKED UP TODAY AFTER 3RD VISIT. STEERING DAMPER REPLACED FOR 2ND TIME. DRIVER SIDE SHOCK ABSORBER REPLACED. VIOLENT SHAKING HAS BEEN RESOLVED SO FAR. BUT LOOSE AND INDIRECT STEERING IS STILL PRESENT. VIDEOS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEEDS FROM 65-75 MY JEEP WILL START TO 'DEATH WOBBLE' WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP OR UNEVEN SPOT ON THE ROAD REQUIRING ME TO DECELERATE OR COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES SINCE MY PURCHASE IN NOV OF 2018. FIVE DIFFERENT THINGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND ONE OF THE DAMPENERS HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE NOW. IT'S BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR 3 WEEKS STRAIGHT NOW. CHRYSLER SAYS THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO AT THIS TIME AND REFERRED ME BACK TO THE DEALER, THE DEALER SUGGESTED I GET AN ATTORNEY SPECIALIZING IN THE LEMON LAW. I HAVE DONE SO AND ALSO WILL BE TALKING TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. SO FAR I HAVE LOST A DAYS WORK AND FIVE 30 MILE TRIPS TO AND FROM THE DEALERSHIP ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE NEW ONES WILL SOMETIMES HAVE A LITTLE 'WIGGLE' TO THEM AT TIMES AND I INFORMED HIM THAT IF I HAD KNOW THIS I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT HAD I KNOW THIS. I AM VERY UPSET WITH CHRYSLER AT THE MOMENT . I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OUT OF MY 2015 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA UNLIMITED OR MY 2009 JEEP ALI WRY. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN JEEP.
I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN 5 TIMES FOR THE LOOSE STEERING AND WOBBLE ALONG WITH BUMP STEER, EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO FILE A LEMON LAW WITH THEM AND THEY REFUSED TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE BACK. THEIR NEWEST FIX IS A DIFFERENT STEERING STABILIZER THAT DID NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP GOING A STRAIGHT LINE WITHOUT CONSTANT INPUT AND WILL JERK THE STEERING WHEEL RIGHT OUT OF YOUR HANDS WHEN HITTING TINY BUMPS AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, NOT SAFE AT ALL BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE IT.
WHILE IN MOTION, VEHICLE DOES NOT STEER STRAIGHT AND REQUIRES CONSTANT STEERING ADJUSTMENTS. DEAD SPOT IN STEERING RESPONSE WHERE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT TURN WHEELS. WHEN A SMALL STEERING ADJUSTMENT IS REQUIRED, SIGNIFICANT STEERING INPUT IS REQUIRED, OFTEN CAUSING EXCESSIVE OVERSTEER AND MAKING VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL.
AT SPEEDS AROUND 65 MPH THE FRONT STEERING STARTS SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY AFTER HITTING A BUMP OR DRIVING OVER A BRIDGE WITH AN EXPANSION JOINT. I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN AND PULL OVER QUICKLY. EXTREMELY UNSAFE. THE DEALERSHIP AT FIRST WAS "SURPRISED" TO HEAR OF THE PROBLEM BUT FINALLY SAID IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE STABILIZER ROD. IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN 1 WEEK AFTER THE FIX. ~6,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE KNOWN "DEATH WOBBLE" I AM NOW FINDING DESCRIBED BY A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE. *DT CONSUMER STATED DEALERSHIP FIXED THE PROBLEM ON THE SECOND TRY.*JB
EXPERIENCED DEATH WOBBLE TODAY. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 70-75 MPH AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND STARTED VIOLENTLY VIBRATING. I FELT THE VIBRATION FROM UNDER THE SEATS AS WELL. THE ONLY TIME IT STOPPED WAS WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 40 MPH. I COULDN'T MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL.
WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND HITTING A BUMP OR GOING ACROSS A RAILROAD TRACK. I GET SUDDEN VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END END AND THROUGH MY STEERING WHEEL ALSO KNOWN AS THE DEATH WOBBLE. VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF GOING IN A CORNER ON AN INTERSTATE.
NOW THAT IT'S EARLY WINTER AND HIGHWAYS ARE BECOMING ROUGH I'M EXPERIENCING WHAT IS REFERRED TO AS THE 'DEATH WOBBLE' ON MY NEW JL WRANGLER WITH 10,000 MILES AND NO ALTERATIONS. I TOOK A TRIP AND EXPERIENCED 4 SEPARATE EXTREME STEERING WOBBLES AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHERE I HAD TO SLOW DOWN BELOW 55 MPH TO GET IT TO STOP. ONE TIME I WAS PASSING A SEMI WITH 2 VEHICLES BEHIND ME THAT WERE NOT TO IMPRESSED WITH MY SLOWING DOWN IN THE PASSING LANE WHERE THEY ALMOST HIT ME FROM BEHIND. THE NEXT DAY I EXPERIENCED ANOTHER GETTING ON THE BYPASS IN TOWN ON THE ON RAMP FROM HITTING A CHUCK HOLE. I HAVE TO LIMIT MY SPEED TO UNDER 62 MPH TO REDUCE THE ISSUE. I'M PAYING WAY TOO MUCH FOR THIS VEHICLE TO HAVE THIS SCARY OF AN ISSUE. THE WOBBLE ISN'T AS SCARY AS SLOWING DOWN IN TRAFFIC RANDOMLY AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS IS A MAJOR FLAW.
THE JEEP STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT END SHAKE, AT TIMES VIOLENTLY. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THERE IS NO PARTICULAR SCENARIO FOR THE OCCURRENCE, ONLY WHEN IN MOTION, AND IS RANDOM.
ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE TRAVELING STRAIGHT AHEAD AT SPEEDS ABOVE 65 MPH ANY TIME THE VEHICLE IS INTRODUCED TO A BUMP, DIP IN THE HIGHWAY, TRANSITION TO A BRIDGE OR CHANGE IN PAVEMENT THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND THE VEHICLE IS VIRTUALLY UNCONTROLLABLE. IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP SHAKING SPEED MUST BE REDUCED TO 30 MPH OR LOWER. THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AS EVERY BUMP, DIP OR ROAD TRANSITION CAUSES THIS SYMPTOM.
COMPLETELY STOCK JEEP JL SAFARI WITH 1469 MILES HAS SEVERE FRONT END SHAKING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 70-75 WHEN HITTING OVERPASS HIGHWAY JOINTS OR DRAIN JOINTS. I HAVE NOT REPLICATED THIS AT LOWER SPEEDS. IT STOPS WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN WHICH COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD IN TRAFFIC AT SUCH SPEED.
BACKUP CAMERA RANDOMLY DOES NOT WORK. SOMETIMES THE BACKUP CAMERA WILL WORK BUT WITHOUT THE GUIDELINES. AND SOMETIMES THE BACKUP CAMERA WILL NOT WORK AT ALL, ONLY SHOWING THE NAVIGATION GPS SCREEN COMPLETELY BLACK. IT MALFUNCTIONS LIKE THIS WHILE BACKING UP IN MY GARAGE, OR BACKING UP INTO A PARKING SPOT IN A PARKING GARAGE OR ON A CITY STREET. I WAS INFORMED BY TWO DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVES THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNLESS IT IS NOT WORKING WHEN I BRING IT IN, SO THEY WILL BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM CORRECTLY. OF COURSE, IT ALWAYS WORKS PROPERLY WHEN I BRING IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE VIDEOS FROM MY IPHONE WHEN IT MALFUNCTIONS BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WERE SORRY AND CAN'T DIAGNOSIS IT WITH THE VIDEO, AND THAT IT HAS TO BE IN THE MALFUNCTION MODE AT THAT TIME BEFORE THEY CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I CURRENTLY HAVE AROUND 8,600 MILES ON MY 2018 JEEP JL SAHARA WRANGLER AND THIS PROBLEM STARTED AROUND 4,500 MILES OR MAYBE SLIGHTLY LESS. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING! I SPECIFICALLY PAID EXTRA FOR THIS JEEP MODEL TO GET THE BACKUP CAMERA. AND IT ONLY WORKS PROPERLY ABOUT 60% OF THE TIME! I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL WORK PROPERLY OR WHEN IT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL.
STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN TRAVELING AT SPEEDS ABOVE 60 MPH. I AM UNABLE TO TURN AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN FORCED OFF THE ROAD ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHEN THE HIGHWAY CURVES, AND I CANNOT TURN TO MEET IT. STEERING ABILITIES RETURN WHEN I LET UP OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND SPEED DROPS BACK UNDER 50MPH. ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT MOST OF THE TIME, BUT IS COMPLETELY CONSISTENT WHEN TEMPERATURES DROP BELOW 40 DEGREES.
DRIVING IN A WYOMING SNOW STORM, OUR LED HEAD & DRIVING LIGHTS COMPLETELY ICED OVER -- AFTER CLEANING THEM A BIT, THEY ICED AGAIN. SAYING THIS WAS A PROBLEM IS A UNDERSTATEMENT! WE HAVE OWNED A JK 2014 & 2017 WITH REGULAR LIGHTS & NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. NOT SURE WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO --
2018 JEEP WRANGLER JL. FRONT END WILL SHAKE VIOLENTLY ON OCCASION WHEN GOING OVER 55 MPH- HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. I INITIALLY THOUGHT I HAD A FLAT TIRE AND IT FEELS LIKE THE TIRES ARE GOING TO FALL OFF. IT WILL CONTINUE UNTIL VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN WHICH IS DIFFICULT TO DO ON THE HIGHWAY!! THIS IS A STOCK VEHICLE WITH ONLY 2800 MILES ON IT. I'VE SEEN OTHERS DESCRIBE IT AS A "DEATH WOBBLE" AND IT'S DEFINITELY SCARY WHEN IT HAPPENS. SEEMS LIKE OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT. I'VE OWNED 6 JEEPS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS.
ON COLD MORNINGS WHILE PARKED, THE BRAKE WILL NOT DEPRESS AND THE CAR WILL NOT START. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS OR AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP, IT WILL START. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ON CHRISTMAS MORNING AFTER FINALLY GETTING THE CAR TO START, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY (65 MPH) ON A STRAIGHTAWAY. IT HAPPENED TWICE THAT DAY. I WAS TOLD UNTIL THEY CAN DUPLICATE IT, THEY CANNOT FIX IT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE.
"TAKATA RECALL" - WHILE COMING OFF THE INTERSTATE, I STARTED BRAKING BECAUSE VEHICLES WERE STOPPED AT THE TOP OF THE EXIT RAMP TO TURN ONTO THE OVERPASS (HIGHWAY). THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. ON THREE SEPARATE TIMES THE BRAKES DID NOT FUNCTION PROPER. THEY WOULD NOT GRIP. FELT LIGHT HYDRO-PLAINING OR LIKE THEY WOULD NOT LOCK. THE VEHICLE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH DISTANCE TO STOP AND I WAS BRAKING BEFORE I LEFT THE INTERSTATE. ON THE THIRD TRY, THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. MY SON WAS IN THE VEHICLE AND KEPT ASKING WHY WE WERE NOT SLOWING DOWN AND STOPPING. THE VEHICLE DID SLOW DOWN, BUT NOT ENOUGH OR IN ENOUGH TIME. *DT*JB

THE RADIO IS BEING REPLACED FOR THE SECOND TIME. IT HAS THE START STOP FEATURE AND IT WILL GO COMPLETELY DEAD AND REQUIRE TIME TO RESTART I WAS DRIVING 60 MPH AND IT STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND IT HAS DONE IN TWICE IN TWO DAYS. IT IS TERRIFYING I HAD TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER.
STEERING AND CONTROL DRASTICALLY IMPAIRED WHEN HITTING A BUMP OVER 50 MPH. CAR AND STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND CAUSES ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. CAR IS STOCK WITH 0 MODIFICATIONS AND LESS THAT 700 MILES ON IT. WHOEVER SAYS THIS IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN IS WRONG. I NEARLY CRASHED ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 55 MPH. FAMILY WILL NOT DRIVE WITH ME IN THE CAR ANYMORE DUE TO ISSUE. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR. HOW CAN THIS BE JUSTIFIED?

THE DRIVER HAS NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING YOU MUST SLOW DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. ONE INCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY HAPPENED WHEN WE WERE SWITCHING LANES ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH THE ROAD CONDITION WAS SMOOTH AND AS WE MERGED INTO THE LEFT LANE THE STEERING VIBRATED AND SHOOK AND TEMPORALLY DID NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IN TILL WE SLOWED DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM HAS AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE CLAIMED THEY FIXED IT. THIS IS NOT THE CASE IT IS STILL A PROBLEM
SEVERE DEATH WOBBLE. VIOLENT SHAKING WILL NOT STOP UNLESS I PULL OVER AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE TRAVERSED A POTHOLE AND EXPERIENCED WHAT WAS KNOWN AS THE DEATH WOBBLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE, WHICH CORRECTED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL ESTES CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 745 E 56TH ST, BROWNSBURG, IN 46112, (317) 620-5175) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRACK BAR OR SWAY BAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FIVE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.

REPORTING THAT WHEN I RIDE OVER A BUMP, SUCH AS A TRANSITION FROM PAVEMENT TO AN OVERPASS, AT A SPEED GREATER THAN 55 OR 60 MPH, THE FRONT END VIOLENTLY SHAKES / WOBBLES AS WHAT I HEAR OTHER DESCRIBE AS A DEATH WOBBLE. THIS FORCES ME TO REDUCE SPEED TO AS LOW AS 20 MPH FOR THE WOBBLE TO CEASE. THIS HAPPENS EACH DAY AS I DRIVE THE SAME ROUTE TO WORK AND THEREFORE DRIVE OVER THE SAME OVERPASS. RELEVANT IS THAT THE BUMP WITHIN THE TRANSITION FROM PAVEMENT TO OVERPASS IS NOT WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER A SIGNIFICANT BUMP.
WHEN YOU HIT AN IMPERFECTION IN THE ROAD YOU GET DEATH WOBBLE IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH SHAKES THE WHOLE VEHICLE AND YOU HAVE TO COME TO BRING THE VEHICLE TOTO A COMPLETE STOP TO GET IT TO STOP. ONE TIME WAS CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS IS AT45 MPH THE NEXT TIME WAS ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH VERY UNSAFE
DEATH WOBBLE WHEN HITTING BUMPS ON THE HIGHWAY ABOVE 60MPH. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND SLOW DOWN TO 45 MPH FOR IT TO STOP. DEALER REPLACED THE STABILIZER WITH AN AFTERMARKET ONE SINCE THE REPLACEMENT PART IS ON BACKORDER AND THE ISSUE IS STILL PRESENT.A STEERING STABILIZER WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE, IT ONLY MASKS IT. THE VEHICLE HAS 1200 MILES ON IT AND IS COMPLETELY STOCK. THEIR IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH EITHER THE TRACK BAR JOINTS OR THE STEERING GEOMETRY. FCA WILL NOT ADMIT THE KNOW ITS AN ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED AND HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE WILL START TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. AT THAT POINT I'M REQUIRED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 40 MILES AN HOUR BEFORE IT WILL SUBSIDE. THIS IS HAPPENED TO ME NUMEROUS TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY. WE HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT HAPPENING AND DISMISSED IT. HOWEVER ON MY WAY TO WORK TODAY WHICH IS AN HOUR DRIVE ONE WAY IT HAPPENED TO ME FOUR TIMES IN WHICH I HAD TRAFFIC BACKED UP BEHIND ME AND ANGRY BECAUSE I HAD TO SLOW DOWN ON A 3-LANE HIGHWAY IN THE CENTER OF TRAFFIC IN ORDER TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THIS IS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I HAVE TRIED TO GET OFF THE ROAD AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
