THE STARTER MELTED CAUSING THE ENGINE TO LOCK UP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 KIA OPTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A CODE NUMBER: P1326. THE CONTACT CALLED THE NATIONWIDE KIA DEALER, LOCATED AT 1600 YORK RD, LUTHERVILLE TIMONIUM, MD 21093, AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
I OWN A 2013 KIA OPTIMA WITH THE SNOW-WHITE PEARL PAINT AND IT IS DEFINITELY PEELING AT A RAPID RATE. IT IS PEELING OFF ON THE SIDES OF MY TRUNK, NEAR THE WINDSHIELD, ON THE HOOD, AND ALSO ON THE EDGES OF THE DOORS. I BOUGHT IT USED, BUT HAVE ONLY OWNED IT FOR 3 YEARS AND THE PAINT WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING TO MAKE THE PAINT CHIP OR PEEL. IT LOOKS HORRIBLE!! KIA NEEDS TO FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY. WE PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR NEW CARS AND SHOULD EXPECT THAT THEY HOLD UP. MY PARENTS OWN CARS THAT ARE 20+ YEARS OLD AND THEIR PAINT IS STILL IN GOOD SHAPE! KIA NEEDS TO STEP UP AND REMEDY THIS!!
All my paint on my WHITE Kia is coming off. So many white Kia’s are having This problem.
TURBO SHUTTING OFF CAUSING VEHICLE TO NOT ACCELERATE
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET ON 75 WITH 67 MILES TO EMPTY WHEN ALL SUDDEN THE CAR START SLOWING SPEED I LOOKED CRUISE CONTROL HAD SHUT OFF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE JUST WENT DEAD ON THE SIDE OF ROAD THE WILL TURN ON TURN OVER TO WANNA CRANK BUT WON'T CATCH TO CRANK I CALLED THE DEALER SHIP AND EXPLAINED HE SHE SAID SHE SURE IT'S FUEL PUMP BECAUSE THEY JUST INSTALLED 2 THIS WEEK ON THE SAME CAR
THERE IS A LOUD CLANKING NOISE WHEN STEERING OR HITTING BUMPS. THIS HAPPENS OVER TIME AND HAS SIGNIFICANTLY GOTTEN WORSE. IT SEEMS TO BE UNSAFE NOW AND MY VEHICLE IS EVEN BELOW 100K MILES SO THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE AT ALL.
I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING ROUGHLY 65 MPH. MY VEHICLE PRETTY MUCH WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO TRAVEL AT A CERTAIN TOP SPEED. OVER HEATING THEN BECAME A VERY DRASTIC ISSUE. I LOOKED ON THE NHSTA WEBSITE FOR ANY KNOWN RECALLS THERE WERE SOME FOR MY YEAR AND MODEL BUT MINE WASN'T LISTED? I CALLED A FAMILY MECHANIC AND DESCRIBED IN MORE GREATER DETAIL ABOUT MY ISSUE FROM START TO FINISH, HE ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE THAT IT WAS DISPLAYING THE EXACT QUALITIES AS THE LISTED RECALL AND I SHOULD CALL KIA MOTOR COMPANY TO HAVE THE LOOK INTO MY CLASS OF VEHICLES FURTHER. LONG STORY SHORT I WAS BASICALLY LEFT HOMELESS IN A CITY AND STATE PRETTY MUCH BEAT ON THE WHOLE IDEA OF EVERY GETTING MY CAR BACK AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT IT DROPPED BELOW 28 DEGREES OUTSIDE. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 200 MILES FROM HOME. BECAUSE OF THIS CORPORATIONS NEGLIGENCE. I LOST MORE THAN A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP I HAD TO START BACK OVER AGAIN AND I'M UNFORTUNATELY AN ONLY CHILD WITH NO PARENTS SO IT WAS VERY MIND BOGGLING.. I MADE REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO COME TO SOME SORT OF AGREEMENT WITH KIA TO NO AVAIL. SOME ONE WENT SO FAR AS TO STEAL A SAFE OUT OF MY VEHICLE. WHICH I HAD PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED AND VANDALIZED THE INSIDE OF MY CAR BEYOND REPAIR. THANKS KIA, FOR VICTIMIZING ME TO MAKE YOUR MILLIONS.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE STEERING WHEEL IS MAKING A CLACKING NOISE. THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOOSE

ON 12/11/2019 , I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 KIA OPTIMA SX TURBO WHEN SUDDENLY IT STARTED TO SPUTTER, AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PULL OVER THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF/ SEIZED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.. I WAS FORCED TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PUSH IT ONTO THE NEAREST SIDEWALK RAMP ONTO A STORAGE PARKING LOT.. AFTER THAT THE ENGINE WOULDNT TURN.. THE BATTERY WASNT DEAD BECAUSE THE RADIO, LIGHTS , DASHBOARD WOULD ALL TURN ON , BUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER, IT WOULD NOT EVEN MAKE A SOUND AS IF IT WERE TRYING .. I TOWED IT TO THE NEAREST MECHANIC TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THEY SAID THE ENGINE FROZE/ SEIZED AND THEY FOUND METALLIC PARTICLES IN THE OIL... I DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT LOOKS LIKE SOME KIA OPTIMA ENGINES HAVE A CERTAIN RECALL FOR PREMATURE BEARING WEAR AND TEAR INSIDE OF THEM THAT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO SEIZE, THIS SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO MY KIA ... THE MECHANIC ALSO ADVISED ME THAT THERE WAS A SHORTAGE THAT CAUSED MY COMPUTER TO BURN OUT... NOT SURE IF RELATED BUT THE ISSUE WITH MY ENGINE DEFINITELY SOUNDS LIKE A COMMON RECALL ISSUE WITH 2011-2014 KIA OPTIMAS ... I LOOKED UP MY VIN # NOTHING POPS UP BUT WHEN I SEARCH FOR GENERAL INFO ON KIA RECALLS , ENGINE SEIZING IS ONE OF THEM.. PLEASE ADVISE ON WHAT TO DO..
MY BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON HUDSON BRIDGE RD. AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR WOULD NOT TAKE OFF AFTER THE LIGHT CHANGE. I TRIED TO TURN THE CAR OFF TO RESTART, BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF OR MOVE. THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. SOMEONE HELPED ME PUSH OUT THE STREET AND THE NEXT THINK WE NOTICE ARE FLAMES COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CAR WAS ON FIRE AND A WORKER AT A NEARBY SHOP USED AN ENTIRE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BUT THE FLAMES CONTINUED UNTIL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED TO PUT OUT. THE FIRE BURNED THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND TIRES.
DRIVING THE CAR DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60MPH ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MOTOR STARTING VIOLENTLY SHAKING AND IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER
DRIVING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THEN CAR JUST STOPPED RUNNING AND WOULD NOT START, ON A STATE ROAD
WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR STOP RUNNING WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET.
WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET, VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE, ALL LIGHTS WOULD BLINK AND ENGINE SOUNDED LIKE IT SPUTTERED BUT DID NOT TURN ON.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK CAR TO LOCAL O'REILLY AUTO PARTS FOR THEM TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. GAVE CODE P0091 WHICH YEILDED PART PR536 - FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. CALLED RICK CASE KIA, DULUTH, GA (ABSOLUTE TERRIBLE SERVICE/CUSTOMER SERVICE, NUMEROUS TIMES)...CAR ISN'T UNDER WARRANTY, WILL NOT COVER...IMMEDIATELY SAID O'REILLY'S WAS WRONG - IT'S THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP - QUOTED $800 TO CHANGE. CALLED A SECOND TIME, SPOKE WITH SOMEONE DIFFERENT, SAID $600 TO CHANGE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. CAR ISN'T RUNNING ANY DIFFERENT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT $170K MILE MARK.
OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES: I GOT AN OIL CHANGE ON 11/27/19 I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD TO PUT OIL IN IT SEVERAL TIMES IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. THE PERSON AT KIA TOLD ME TO COME BACK IN 1000 FOR THEM TO CHECK IT (NOT TO ADD OIL) I CHECKED IT THE MORNING 12/8/19 AT 900 MILES - IT WAS UNDER THE LOW MARK AND I WAS 2 HOUR AWAY FROM HOME. I TOOK IT BACK TO KIA ON MONDAY EVENING 12/9/19 ALMOST 1200 MILES FROM THE LAST OIL CHANGE.). PERSON AT KIA STAID I WAS DOWN 2 LITERS (VERY LITTLE OIL ON THE END OF THE DIP STICK . THE OIL LIGHT DID NOT COME ON, BUT IT DID FLICKER A FEW LIGHT ON MY 2 HOUR DRIVE HOME ) ' KIA ADVISED I'M OVER MY 100,000 MILES AND THAT'S NOT PART OF THE ENGINE RECALL. I WENT HOME, CHECKED THE INTERNET AND THERE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF BLOG ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION. 1 DAY AGO THERE WAS A NEW STORY, WHERE KIA DENIED A PERSON CLAIM AFTER THE ENGINE SEIZED. AN INSPECTION FOUND A HOLE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. THE MECHANIC WROTE IN A REPORT THAT IT WAS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY A LACK OF LUBRICATION; THEREFORE KIA DID NOT PAY. KIA IS AWARE OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP RECEIVED HUNDRED'S OF COMPLAINTS BUT I WAS TOLD THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THAT ISSUE. IF YOU GET IT CHECKED IT'LL READ FOR A DIFFERENT ISSUE OTHER THAT THE CURRENT ENGINE RECALL; IT WILL MISS UP YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING A NEW ENGINE WHEN IT SEIZES UP.) I DON'T FEEL LIKE I'M SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE AND KIA'S STILL PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE WITH OUR LIVES.
My SWP paint is peeling and chipping in multiple spots. Ive noticed it since I bought it back in November of 2019 but its only gotten worse

THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V224000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,404.
PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT SENSOR R/F SEAT CUSHION THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 70 MPH, PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND THEN THE ENGINE ACCELERATED AND THEN DECELERATED BACK TO ACCELERATING. BY THAT TIME, THE CAR LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TURN ON AND THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT ACCELERATE THE CAR ANYMORE. THE CAR SLOWLY STARTED DECELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY, WHERE I MANAGED TO GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY INTO A DIP ON A BIG STREET. HAD IT TOWED BECAUSE THE CAR'S ENGINE WOULD NOT START ANYMORE, BUT THE LIGHTS AND RADIO INSIDE WOULD TURN ON. I SAW OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE TALKING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM AND HOW THERE IS A RECALL ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, BUT WHEN I SEARCHED UP MY CAR'S VIN NUMBER, IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ON THE RECALL LIST.
I WAS LEAVING WORK AND MY CAR WOULDN'T CRANK, I THOUGHT IT WAS MY STARTER SO I REPLACED THE STARTER ONLY TO HEAR LOUD KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS CONCERNED WITH THE WORK FROM FIRESTONE SO I TOOK MY CAR. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON A BUSY INTERSECTION MY CAR, A 2013 KIA OPTIMA JUST SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AFTER THE STARTER WAS REPLACED. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT HAPPENED DURING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE STARTER BUT AN ADJUSTER CAME OUT AND RULED THE STARTER WAS BRAND NEW AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE. AS I CONTINUE TO READ ONLINE REVIEWS I SEE IT CAN BE A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINES ON KIA. I HAVE A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE WITH METAL FLAKES IN THE OIL.
2013 KIA OPTIMA SPORT WITH APPROXIMATELY 47,000 MILES LOSS OF TURBO. PULLED OUT OF MY GARAGE AND MY CAR SEEMED SLUGGISH. I NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. AS I ACCELERATED MY TURBO DID NOT SEEM TO KICK IN AND MY CAR WOULD REV UP AND NOT ACCELERATE VERY WELL. CALLED KIA THEY SAID I HAVE 5 YEAR OR 50,000 MILE WARRANTY. I TOLD THEM I ALSO HAVE 10 YEAR 100 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. JUST RAN A RECALL CHECK AND NHTSA STATES RECALL ON LONG BLOCK ENGINE AND TURBO RECALL ON MY SPORT MODEL.
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
FIRST I HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION THEN I STARTED GETTING A WARNING MESSAGE STATING HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING SAFETY. FOLLOWED BY CHECK BRAKES WARNING. THIS OCCURED WHILE I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT.THE BREAKS COMPLETELY GO OUT AND BEGIN TO MAKE A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. ONCE I SHUT THE CAR OFF FIR ABOUT 30-60 MINUTES THE LIGHT GOES OUT UNTIL THE NEXT OCCURANCE. PRIOR TO LOSING ALL BREAK CONTROL THE CAR IS FINE. THIS PERSISTED TO A POINT THAT I CANNOT DRIIVE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS A HYDRAULIC PROBLEM AND COULD BE FIXED FOR $2700. THIS IS A KIA MANUFACTURING ISSUE AND KIA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO FIX IT. I DID SUBMIT A COMPLAINT TO KIA CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO NO AVAIL. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ISSUE OR PUT THIS ON A RECALL LIST. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND FILLED THE VEHICLE WITH OIL, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE RECENTLY HAD AN OIL CHANGE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE ROD AND IGNITION COIL WERE DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WAS DRIVING MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL FOR THEATER PRACTICE ON A SUNDAY AND WITHIN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE OF PULLING OUT OF OUR DRIVE ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON IN MY CAR AND IT WAS TOTALLY SEIZED, IT DIED . WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. ONE OF THE BUSIEST ROADS IN NASHVILLE ..AND WE HAD NO CONTROL OF THE CAR. WE WERE TERRIFIED WE WERE GOING TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. WE MADE A TURN AT THE LIGHT.. COASTING AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF ANOTHER BUSY ROAD .. WHERE WE BLOCKED A FAST FOOD DRIVE. THAT'S AS FAR AS IT WOULD GO. I TRIED TO START THE CAR BUT COULDN'T TELL IF IT WAS ON OR OFF. PUSH BUTTON IGNITION WAS NOT WORKING .. THEN SMOKED STARTED ROLLING OUT. WE JUMPED OUT AND CALLED 911 AS IT'S MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION AND BEING A SINGLE PARENT CAN'T AFFORD FOR IT TO BURN UP. IT SMELLED LIKE BURNED PLASTIC OR WIRES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME BUT THE FIRE WAS OUT. THEY COULD SMELL WHERE IT HAD BURNED AND THEY HELPED ME PUSH IT INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT TO GET US OUT OF TURNING TRAFFIC. I HAD NO POWER STEERING AND ALL THE POWER WORKED BUT THE ENGINE WAS SEIZED.. OUT OF NO WHERE. HERE WE WERE STRANDED AND CRYING. SHE WAS CALLING SCHOOL AS TO NOT GET IN TROUBLE AND I WAS CALLING MY PARENTS FOR A RIDE.

I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS CALLS TO KIA AND THEY NEVER CALL BACK- I EVEN ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER IF HE HAS DRIVEN MY CAR AND HE SAID NO. A FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS A MECHANIC SAID HE'S NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS.
THE STEERING IS MAKING A VIBRATING, CLICKING NOISE. IT DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING, TURNING EVEN IF THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND STATIONARY.

ON INTERSTATE 675 NORTH-GA CAR STALLED, LOST POWER TO THE ENGINE, EPS LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OIL LIGHT CAME ON ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, NO POWER STEERING. I HAD TO CROSS TWO LANES OF INTERSTATE TRAFFIC TO TRY TO MAKE IT SAFELY TO THE SHOULDER. MY CAR WOULDN'T TURN OVER OR START. I LET THE CAR SIT FOR AN HOUR AND TRIED AGAIN TO START IT. I RECEIVED NO NOTICE OF ANY RECALLS FROM THE DEALER OR THE MANUFACTURER. IT WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE IN ON THE INTERSTATE OR ANYWHERE FOR THAT MATTER.

MECHANIC STATES THE ENGINE TEST DID PASS BUT FEELS IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AT SOME POINT?? MECHANIC SAID HE DIDN'T SMELL ANY GASOLINE BUT HE DID NOT TEST DRIVE THE CAR OR RUN DIAGNOSTIC TEST AS HE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE $129 FEE......I DECLINED PAYING THE FEE AND REQUESTED IT BE DONE AS THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM BUT THAT WAS DENIED. THE DEALER CALLED THE CONTACT AND PROVIDED THEM WITH THE VEHICLE'S REPAIR HISTORY. THE ENGINE WAS REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST REGARDING AN UNKNOWN RECALL. IN MAY OF 2019, THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE SHE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A KNOCKING NOISE THAT WAS GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER. THE MANUFACTURER DIRECTED THE DEALER TO INSTALL A DEVICE TO ELIMINATE THE KNOCKING NOISE. THE DEVICE WOULD ENABLE THE VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN 35 MPH SHOULD THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION FOR AN UNKNOWN DISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
KIA ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE ENGINE BURNING CYLINDERS CAUSING FOREIGN OBJECTS TO GET INTO THE OIL CYCLE, AND CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL OUT. SO MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR ALONG THE HIGHWAY GOING 70MPH AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED OUT AND COULD'VE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS WRECK, AND IF IT WOULD'VE THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN SUED. SO MY CAR WON'T RUN NOW, AND I GET IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER I SEE THIS RECALL ABOUT THE ENGINE. THE DEALERSHIP TEST THE ENGINE AND TELL ME THE ENGINE IS FINE, BUT MY TURBO IS ACTUALLY BURNING METAL AND CAUSING FOREIGN OBJECTS TO GET INTO MY OIL CYCLE. SINCE IT'S NOT THE ENGINE THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX IT. THE SAME EXACT THING THE RECALL IS CALLING FOR IS WHAT IS GOING ON IN MY CAR BUT IN A DIFFERENT PART. THEY ARE REFUSING TO GO IT AND WANT ME TO PAY OVER $2,500 TO HAVE IT FIXED WHEN IT'S A SERIOUS MALFUNCTION ON THEIR PART.
