MY 2006 KIA SEDONA SEEMS TO CONTINUALLY BLOW LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE 3 YEARS AND HAVE GONE THROUGH 7 BULBS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IN 2010, BUT CLAIMS THAT THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE TURN SIGNAL BULB ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ALSO WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. *TR
WE OWN A 2006 KIA SEDONA, PURCHASED USED. THE ESC AND ABS INDICATORS ON THE DASH GO ON RANDOMLY ON A REGULAR BASIS. WE HAVE NOT ADDRESSED IT YET WITH THE DEALER. ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND ON AGAIN, THE INDICATOR GOES AWAY, BUT WILL EVENTUALLY COME BACK ON. *TR
2006 KIA SEDONA. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATING. *TGW THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE RESULT OF THE DIAGNOSIS CAME BACK AS ONE FRONTAL AND ONE REAR CRASH SENSOR HAD CORRODED AND MALFUNCTIONED, AND ALSO THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SWITCH MALFUNCTIONED. AFTER RESETTING THE DIAGNOSTIC CODES, THE TECHNICIAN TURNED THE VEHICLE ON AND THE SAME FAULTS REGISTERED. *JB
OUR 2006 KIA SEDONA AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DRIVER?S DASHBOARD CAME ON. A KIA DEALER DIAGNOSTIC REVEALED A $1,900.00 IN REPAIR COSTS TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG SEAT SENSORS. THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY UNTIL REPAIRED. OUR SEDONA HAS 61,000 MILES; 1,000 BEYOND THE 60,000 WARRANTY. THIS RENDERS THE SAFETY RATING OF THE KIA SEDONA USELESS UNTIL REPAIRED AND ENDANGERS THE LIVES FOR OUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN TO RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED RIGOROUSLY FOLLOWING ALL MANUFACTURER MAINTENANCE. THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY KIA AS A RECALL; NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. KIA CORPORATE DECLINED TO COVER THE COSTS. THE NUMBER ONE REASON WE PURCHASED THE 2006 KIA SEDONA WAS THE SAFETY RATING. NOW WE ARE STUCK WITH OUR PRECIOUS TWO LITTLE CHILDREN FAR FROM HOME WITH A SAFETY DILEMMA RENDERED BY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT THAT KIA WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE. THIS HAS PUT A YOUNG FAMILY IN A DILEMMA OF HOW TO SAFELY TRANSPORT OUR CHILDREN HOME AND HOW TO PAY FOR A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT IS BEYOND OUR MEANS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR BECAUSE IN A CRASH THEY WOULD NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA LX. WHILE DRIVING IN THE DRIVEWAY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BUSHINGS BEGAN TO EXHIBIT AND ABNORMAL SQUEALING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLACE THE BUSHINGS UNTIL THEY HAD FRACTURED AND COULD NOT PRESS OUT FROM THE SUB FRAME WITHOUT CAUSING DAMAGING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED WHO CONTACTED THE DEALER TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE AND WHAT COULD BE DONE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE FAILURE UNTIL IT WAS FRACTURED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,400.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR DID NOT CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE LOCK WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED ON A VOLUNTARY RECALL AND HE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE SINCE IT WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE TRIED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS UNABLE TO SPEAK TO ANYONE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,300 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,600.
2006 KIA SEDONA EX, PASSENGER POWER DOOR OPENS WITHOUT WARNING USUALLY AFTER ANY MOISTURE, HEAVY RAIN OR CAR WASH, WON'T CLOSE. *TR
ELECTRONIC "MEMORY" REAR VIEW MIRRORS ON THE KIA SEDONA MINI-VAN TURN ON THEIR OWN RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS EVEN AFTER THEY ARE RESET. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED SEVERAL TIMES TO KIA AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET REARVIEW MIRRORS TO REMAIN IN THE POSITION THEY ARE SET TO. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS WHILE DRIVING AND SWITCHING LANES UNDER THE BELIEF THERE ARE NO CARS PRESENT, MEANWHILE THE MIRROR IS FACING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. KIA HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THESE MIRRORS TWICE BUT THE ELECTRONICS CONTINUE TO HAVE "GHOSTS" AND THEY REFUSE TO STAY PUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 5 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKES WHEN THE CONTACT SIMULTANEOUSLY DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STOP BUT THEN ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO ALTER THE PEDALS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
WE HAVE A 2006 KIA SEDONA, WITH POWERED SLIDING SIDE DOORS. WE HAD OUR THREE GRAND KIDS WITH US, ALL UNDER 6 AND THE SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. IT WOULD GO SHUT, AND THEN OPEN WITHOUT LOCKING. WE WERE TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THERE WAS A BAD ELECTRONIC SWITCH. THE PROBLEM: THERE WAS NO MANUAL OVERIDE TO THIS PROBLEM. I HAD TO DRIVE IT IN THE SHOP BY JAMMING THE DOOR MANUALLY, AND EVEN THEN IT CAME OPEN SEVERAL TIMES ON MY TRIP TO THE DEALER. IF WE HAD BEEN IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM, OR A BLIZZARD, WE COULD HAVE BEEN IN REAL TROUBLE. THERE MUST BE AN OVERIDE FOR THIS. I PULLED THE FUSES, BUT THAT DID NOT HELP. THE DEALER IS DON SEALYE FORD, KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN. *TR
PROBLEMS: AIR BAG LIGHT ON AGAIN. HAS BEEN REPAIRED BY DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. AC DOES NOT BLOW COLD CONTINUALLY AND HAS BEEN REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES. NEW COMPRESSOR, ADDITIONAL FREON, ETC. HORN MALFUNCTIONING AGAIN. TRANSMISSION PROBLEM - THE VEHICLE "BANGS OR SLAMS" WHEN YOU COME DOWN A HILL TO A STOP. WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP LIGHT IT ACTUALLY HAS A SURGE OR ACCELERATION. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 64000 ON IT AND THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES (FRONT AND REAR). NOW WHEN I AM DRIVING I GET A TERRIBLE GRINDING FEELING - AND AT A HIGHER SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN YOU GO TO SLOW DOWN FASTER IT VIBRATES TERRIBLY. ALSO THE BRAKING IS TERRIBLE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ACTUATOR REPAIR/REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES, HORN NOT SOUNDING PROPERLY, AIR BAG LIGHT (REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES), CRUISE CONTROL ISSUES (WON'T MAINTAIN SPEED - ACCELERATES OR DECELERATES), BATTERY OR ELECTRICAL ISSUES (TOLD TO REPLACE BATTERY WHICH I DID & PAID FOR), HEADLIGHT ISSUES (HAVE REPLACED LIGHTS SEVERAL TIMES), VIBRATION ON HIGHWAY (NEW TIRES AND TIRES HAVE BEEN REBALANCED. ALIGNMENT DONE). AFTER REVIEWING MULTIPLE WEBSITES ON KIA REVIEWS, THESE ABOVE ITEMS ARE VERY COMMON EXPERIENCES FOR KIA SEDONA OWNERS. I WANTED TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF THESE ITEMS SINCE I FEEL THAT IF CONSUMERS DO NOT NOTIFY THE AUTHORITIES NOTHING WILL BE CORRECTED OR KNOWN. I HAVE REALLY NOTICED IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS, ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER PASSING THE WARRANTY MARK, THE VEHICLE HAS TAKEN A TURN FOR THE WORSE AND PROBLEMS SEEM TO BE ESCALATING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH HE STARTED TO HEAR A THUMPING NOISE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A TIRE DEALER AND THEY FOUND THAT THE REAR LEFT TIRE TREAD HAD SPLIT AND THE STEEL BELTS WERE TWISTED. DIAGNOSTICS WERE DONE ON THE TIRES, ONLY ONE OUT OF THE FOUR TIRES WAS NOT DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH KONA, MODEL KH16 TIRES 22570C16. THE CONTACT REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES AT HIS EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THE FAILURE MILEAGE ON THE TIRES WAS 19,083, AS WELL AS THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 10/27/10. *LJ
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED SHE HAD HER VEHICLE SERVICED FOR THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V130000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING: BRAKE LIGHTS: SWITCH). AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALER, SHE WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL INVOLUNTARILY ENGAGED. THERE WAS AN UNUSUALLY LOUD BUZZ COMING FROM THE DASH AREA. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND WHEN RESTARTING, THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS DEACTIVATED BUT THE NOISE CONTINUED MOMENTARILY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING A RECURRING FAILURE IN WHICH SHE HEARS A LOUD "CLUNKING" NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING OVER BUMPS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON MANY OCCASIONS WHERE THE RIGHT AND LEFT SWAY BAR LINKS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR WHENEVER DRIVING OVER A BUMPY ROAD SURFACE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE FRONT HOOD UNLATCHED AND FELL FROM OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SHE MUST HAVE LEFT THE HOOD OPEN IN ORDER FOR THE FAILURE TO OCCUR. THE HOOD WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 105,000.
THIS CAR HAS HAD PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM WITH THE SUSPENSION SINCE IT WAS 4 YEARS OLD. IT DOES NOT FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE AT ALL. THE DEALERSHIPS REPEATEDLY TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, BUT EVERY TIME SOMEONE GETS INTO IT, THEY ASK WHATS WRONG WITH IT. IT HAS FELT LIKE THE WHEELS ARE GOING TO FLY OFF AT ANY MOMENT. KIA SEDONA 2006. I WAS PARKED. I WENT TO BACK UP AND IT STARTED FORWARD. I NEVER STEPPED ON ACCELERATOR ONLY THE BRAKE. IT CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE FASTER AND FASTER ALL THE WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. THERE WERE SKID MARK TO SHOW THAT I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. A CINDER BLOCK WALL STOPPED ME. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2006 KIA SEDONA ON THE HIGHWAY THE REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF WITH MY CHILD SEATED NEXT TO IT IN HER CAR SEAT. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS AT TRYING TO CLOSE THE DOOR BY THE POWER SWITCHES, I HAD TO PUSH THE DOOR CLOSED MANUALLY. I GOT IN MY VEHICLE AND DROVE TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT TO MOVE MY CHILD'S CAR SEAT TO THE OTHER SIDE. I CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP TO LET THEM KNOW I WAS ON MY WAY AND GAVE AN EXPLANATION OF THE ISSUE. I WAS ASKED TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT DAY, THAT THEY WERE BUSY AND ALREADY HAD PEOPLE WAITING. I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD MY CHILD IN THE CAR AND WAS TOLD PERHAPS I COULD USE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT HER IN THE CAR, BUT THAT THEY PROBABLY WOULD NOT GET A CHANCE TO FIX THE PROBLEM TODAY. I EXPRESSED MY DISAPPOINTMENT AND TOLD HIM I WOULD BE COMING NOW TO THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS I COULD GET THERE. THE DOOR CONTINUED TO OPEN THROUGHOUT MY 30 MINUTE DRIVE TO THE NEAREST KIA DEALERSHIP, LEAVING ME TO PULL OVER AND, AGAIN, MANUALLY TRY TO CLOSE THE DOOR. THIS OCCURRED 6 TIMES. ON PULLING INTO THE DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT, WHICH IS DOWN A SMALL HILL, THE DOOR AGAIN SLID OPEN AND CLOSED. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT IT WAS A MECHANICAL PROBLEM WITH THE LATCH ON THE SLIDING DOOR. THAT THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SYSTEM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE A BROKEN LATCH AS IT IS A MECHANICAL PART. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR LOOKS AT THE OPEN LATCH AS IF SOMEONE WANTS THE DOOR TO OPEN, NOT UNDERSTANDING THAT IT COULD BE A DEFECT OF THE PART ITSELF. THE PART WAS REPLACED AND I PAID OUT OF POCKET FOR THE EXPENSES, AS MY LIMITED WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP IF THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD SEEN IT BEFORE, BUT WOULD NOT CALL THIS ISSUE COMMON. MY CONCERN IS FOR THE SAFETY OF MY CHILD. MY CHOICE IN THIS VEHICLE WAS MADE BASED ON SAFETY. THIS DEFECT OF THE LATCH ON THE DOOR IS NOT SAFE. AND, COMMON OR NOT, MUST BE ADDRESSED. *TR
THE FOLLOWING IS COPY OF A COMPLAINT I FILED ON 3/13 WITH KIA REGARDING MY 2006 KIA SEDONA MINIVAN, WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND NEW ON JAN. 11, 2007. "THIS PAST WEEK I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY VAN SLIDING DOORS CLOSING ALL THE WAY. ON 3/9 THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR FLEW OPEN WHEN I MADE A SHARP TURN WHILE MY SONS WERE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE SEATS. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A FLUKE BUT ON 3/12 AS I WAS DRIVING DURING RUSH HOUR ON THE HIGH WAY AND HIT A BUMP, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR FLEW OPEN WHILE MY SON WAS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE SEAT. I FREAKED OUT COMPLETELY AT THE HORROR OF IT AND THEN PULLED OVER, SHUT THE DOOR, AND HELD IT AS I DROVE STRAIGHT TO MY KIA DEALER. I WAS RELIEVED THE NIGHTMARE WAS OVER AND THAT WE MADE IT SAFELY UNTIL I WAS TOLD THAT MY WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 60,000 MILES (I AM AT 71,000) AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME 423.67$ TO HAVE MY VAN SAFE FOR MY CHILDREN AGAIN. I EXPRESSED MY ANGER TO THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO EXPLAINED THAT HIS HANDS WERE TIED BY THE WARRANTY. I TRIED TO CALL KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT IT WAS CLOSED. I AM ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGED THAT INSTEAD OF BEING GRATEFUL THAT WE MADE IT SAFELY AND THAT I AM NOT SUING KIA IF THE UNTHINKABLE HAD HAPPENED, THAT KIA HAS TAKEN THIS OPPORTUNITY TO CHARGE ME TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE LATCH IS FAULTY BECAUSE LATCHES DON'T JUST WEAR AFTER 3 YEARS, AND THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WEAR AND TEAR OF THE LATCH. IT IS A CHEAP AND FAULTY LATCH, AND KIA MADE ME PAY FOR THEIR INCOMPETENCE. FURTHERMORE, I JUST CO-SIGNED FOR MY SON TO BUY HIS 1ST NEW VEHICLE FROM THIS SAME KIA DEALERSHIP AND I AM NOW HOPING AGAINST HOPE THAT I DIDN'T SIGN HIM INTO A DEATH TRAP! IT IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD THAT A CUSTOMER WITH A BARELY OVER 3-YEAR-OLD VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE THIS ISSUE. I HAVE HAD OTHER MINIVANS WITH 100,000 MILES AND NEVER DID A DOOR FLY OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING. *TR
THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS SHORTS AND HARNESS ISSUES ALL OVER. YOU HAD A RECENT RECALL, BUT NOT INVOLVING 2006 SEDONAS ONLY 2007. OUR VEHICLE HAS SAME ISSUE AS FOUND IN THE RECENT RECALL. RUBBER MAT COMES OFF THE FLOOR POST WHICH CAUSES THE MAT TO SLIP FORWARD. I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND FAMILY. 2006 KIA SEDONA, SLIDING DOORS KEEP STICKING OR LOCKING SO YOU CAN NOT OPEN THEM, IN COLD WEATHER AND IN WARM WEATHER. I PULLED THE NEG. BATTERY CABLE AND RESET THE ECM. I DROVE THE VAN FOR 200 MILES WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE NEXT MORNING THE VAN STARTED NORMALLY, BUT WITHIN A MINUTE BOTH LIGHTS WERE ON AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ANY THROTTLE INPUT. THE CODES PULLED FROM THE COMPUTER ARE P1295, P2106, AND P2135. AFTER LOOKING ON GOOGLE, THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM PLAGUING KIA AND HYUNDAI VEHICLES. ACCORDING TO WHAT I'VE READ, IT CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME, ON ANY MODEL YEAR. NOBODY HAS BEEN ABLE TO ISOLATE THE CAUSE, EXCEPT TO REPLACE THE ECM, AND REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. THE INTERNET IS LOADED WITH THIS SAME COMPLAINT EVEN TO THE POINT OF OFFERING A SOLUTION TO JUMP ACROSS THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM TO ELIMINATE THIS PROBLEM. MY 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS ADJUSTING THE SEAT BACK IN THE REAR ROW OF THE KIA SEDONA - WHEN SHE UNLATCHED THE ADJUSTMENT LATCH THE REAR SEAT BACK SPRUNG FORWARD (SHE WAS FACING THE REAR TO SEE THE SEAT MOVE) WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT HIT HER IN THE MOUTH AND DROVE HER BOTTOM BRACES THROUGH HER BOTTOM LIP - SHE REQUIRED IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION TO UNHOOK THE BRACES AND THEN PLASTIC SURGERY TO CLOSE THE WOUND (6 STITCHES IN BOTH THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF HER MOUTH). *TR

AFTER HEAVY RAIN OR PROLONGED RAIN PERIODS, THE CARGO AREA IN THE BACK OF THE VAN SATURATES (FLOODS) WITH WATER. THIS WAS FIRST NOTICED WHEN THE VAN WAS PARKED FOR THE FIRST TIME OUTSIDE THE GARAGE DURING THE STORM OF THE END OF 2008 IN THE SNOHOMISH, WASHINGTON AREA. SINCE THEN, THIS PROBLEM PRESISTED UNTIL NOW. THE KIA DEALER, WHERE THE VAN WAS BOUGHT FROM AS NEW VEHICLE, ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE LEAK 4 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY SEALED BODY LEAKS AT THIRD BRAKE LIGHT AND LEFT REAR WHEEL WELL, BUT THE LEAK SHOWD UP AGAIN AT THE CARGO AREA DURING THE FOLLOWING RAIN EVENT. THE SECOND REPAIR ATTEMPT, THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT THEY INSTALLED SOP REAR HATCH WEATHERSTRIP DUE TO DEFORMATION. AGAIN THE LEAK PRESISTED AND THE CARGO AREA WAS FLOODED LATER. THE THIRD ATTEMPT, THE KIA DEALER FOUND THAT THE REAR HATCH SEAL WAS NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY, AND THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY CLEANED, RESEALED, AND RECHECKED AND NO LEAK. AGAIN THE LEAK RETURNED AGIN FLOODING THE CARGO AREA. THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT THEY FOUND A LEAK IN THE ROOF SEAM, AND CLAIMED THAT THEY CLEANED THE SEAM AND SEALED THE SEAM AND SEALED THE REAR SEAT BOLT HOLES AS THE FOURTH REPAIR. STIL THE LEAK RETURNED. A FIFTH REPAIR BY THE DEALER WAS REPLACING THE REAR HATCH SEAL. STILL THE PROBLEM OF THE LEAK EXISTS SATURATING THE CARGO. IN ADDITION, MOLD STARTED GROWING VISIBLE AROUND THE CUP HOLDERS ON THE SECON AND THIRD ROW OF THE DRIVER SIDE, AND THE DRIVER SEAT BELT IN THE AREA WHERE THE BELT SLIDES INTO IT'S COMPARTMENT. THIS HAPPENED TWICE. AS I ATTEMPTED TO PULL OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, MY CAR WOULD ONLY GO 5MPH. I HAD NO GAS FEED. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE THROTTLE BODY AND WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY THE FIRST TIME. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER AT THE TIME THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM FOR MY VEHICLE. IN FACT, HE WAS HELPING ANOTHER OWNER WITH THE VERY SAME PROBLEM WHEN I CAME IN. THE SECOND TIME WAS DEC 2013. THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THIS TIME IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY (87,000 M) AND I HAD IT CLEANED AT MY EXPENSE. IT HAS WORKED SINCE THEN. I AM NOW AT 97,000M. I AM EXPECTING IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN SOMEDAY. *JS
2006 KIA SEDONA WINDSHIELD WIPERS MOTOR HAS A DESIGN FLAW. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED DURING A RAINSTORM ACCOMPANIED BY HIGH WINDS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS SIMPLY STOPPED WORKING. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE WIPERS BECAME LOOSE BECAUSE OF AN OFFENDING NYLON DEVICE WHICH WAS SIMPLY PRESSED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD WIPER DRIVE MOTOR. IN ORDER TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR, THE DEVICE WAS DESIGNED TO POP OFF UNDER PRESSURE. *JB
KIA SEDONA 2006 MINIVAN WITH ROTOR PROBLEM. TERRIBLE GRINDING NOISES WHILE BRAKING, WAS TOLD ROTORS AND PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT ONLY 11,000 MILES OF MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING. THEN 9,000 MILES LATER WHEN NOISE/GRINDING/SHUDDERING RETURNED, TOLD ROTORS AGAIN HAD TO BE REPLACED. NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE BUT DEALER AND MANUFACTURER REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,823. UPDATED 2/25/15*CN
