COMPLAINT NO.WHILE TRAVELING DOWN HWY 377 TOWARD GRANBURY, TEXAS. THE UNDERSIDE OF MY CAR BURST INTO FLAMES. FORTUNATELY I WAS TRAVELING AT 70MPH AND THE PERSON WHO WITNESSED THE FLAMES BEHIND ME, RAN UP TO MY CAR WHEN I STOPPED AT A RAIL CROSSING TO TELL ME WHAT HAPPEN. I WAS LUCKY I WAS DRIVING 70MPH AND IF I HAD STOPPED WHILE IT WAS BURNING THE CAR WOULD HAVE BURNED UP. IT LOOKS LIKE THE PLASTIC PANELS WERE IGNITED BY THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER.. COMPLAINT NO.2 WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF IMPACT, NEAR THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, A CRACK APPEARED FROM THE TOP EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD DOWNWARD ABOUT 2.5" LONG. SINCE IT IS NEAR THE REAR VIEW MIRROR I KNOW IT APPEARED WITHOUT ANY FLYING OBJECT HITTING THE WINDSHIELD. SINCE IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TOP EDGE, I'M WONDERING IF IT IS A STRESS CRACK AND OTHER KIA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME EVENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF, SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE THEN BURST INTO FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000. *TT THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS UNKNOWN. *JS
LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS GO OFF AUTOMATICALLY. HAVE TO TURN THE HEAD LIGHTS BACK OFF AND BACK ON BEFORE THEY WORK AGAIN. ONLY HAPPENS IN THE BEGINNING OF THE DRIVE. I BOUGHT NEW HEAD LIGHTS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 KIA SORENTO DOWN A CITY STREET WHEN MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF . LUCKILY I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 30 MPH. IT LOST ALL POWER AND WONT RESTART. IT SHOWED AND CURRENTLY SHOWS A RED STEERING WHEEL LIGHT (I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE) AND A DIM BATTERY DISPLAY( WHICH BATTERY ISN'T EVEN 4 MONTHS OLD AND ALL FEATURES WORKED LONG AS CAR WAS IN AUX MODE) AND ALSO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. IT WAS PUTTING OFF A BAD ODOR AFTERWARDS, DIDN'T SMELL OF OIL OR ANY OTHER FLUIDS SORENTO DOESN'T HAVE ANY BLOWN FUSES NOR DID IT HAVE ANY SERVICE TYPE LIGHTS ON AT TIME IT SHUT OFF. IT SEEMED TO BE DRIVING FINE UNTIL IT SHUT OFF. NO LOUD NOISE OR SHAKING OR ANYTHING HAVE TO TAKE TO DEALER TOMORROW HAD IT CHECKED FOR CODES AND ISN'T SHOWING ANY HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP IS MY ONLY CHOICE
VEHICLE DISPLAYS NO WARNING LIGHTS. VEHICLE SUDDENLY CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD AT AN INTERSECTION, AND UPON TRYING TO RE-CRANK, IT MAKES A LOUD KNOCKING AND CLANKING NOISE. COULD ONLY SEMI-OPERATE CAR IN NEUTRAL. CAR WILL ONLY CUT ON FOR ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS AT A TIME. THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON THIS YEAR AND MODEL VEHICLE, FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE, BUT ACCORDING TO MY VIN, MY VEHICLE DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL ALTHOUGH OTHERS DO. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE RODS ARE KNOCKING TO A HIGHLY EXTREME LEVEL.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR HOME AND JUST AS I PULLED UP ON MY STREET I AND BEGAN TO SMELL SMOKE AND THE SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC, JUST AS I WAS PULLING UP TO MY HOUSE AND ABOUT TO PULL INTO MY DRIVEWAY, A TOW TRUCK DRIVER DRIVING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION STOPPED HIS TRUCK, JUMPED OUT AND STARTED YELLING FOR ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE MY ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. AT THIS TIME I TURNED THE CAR OFF, GRABBED MY THINGS AND JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR. FLAMES WERE COMING OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE CREASE IN THE HOOD COVERING THE ENGINE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER OPENED THE HOOD AND THE ENGINE WAS STILL ON FIRE. HE GRABBED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER THAT HE HAD IN HIS TRUCK AND PUT OUT THE FIRE.
MY 2014 KIA SORRENTO IS NOT BEING RE-CALLED AFTER 403 KIA SORRENTO'S ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE NTSA THINKS YOU SHOULD JUST CARRY A FIRE EXTINGUISTER BUT THAT IS NOT THE ANSWER. I AM NOT SURE THAT I TRUST EVEN A RECALL AT THIS POINT. AS KIA AND THE NTSA ARGUE ABOUT WHOSE TO BLAME MORE CARS ARE BEING EFFECTED. NO PERSON LIFE HAS BEEN TAKEN. IS SOMEONE JUST WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO BE KILLED TO TAKE NOTICE. YOU SHOULD BE SHAMEFUL. WOULD YOU LET SOMEONE YOU LOVED DRIVE A KIA SORRENTO KNOWING THAT 403 CARS HAVE HAD ENGINE FIRES? I TRAVEL WITH KIDS, I TRAVEL DISTANCES, I TRAVEL AT NIGHT. I AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR FEAR OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN. IT IS CAUSING STRESS IN MY LIFE. I WANT SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS, NOW MY DOCUMENTATION IS THE EVENING NEWS WITH LESTER HOLT ON JULY 18, 2018. THERE WAS A SEGMENT ON REGARDING THIS ISSUE. NO RE-CALL HAS BEEN ISSUED BECAUSE NO ONE HAS DECIDED WHOSE FAULT IT IS; A PRETTY POOR EXCUSE. I HAVE CALLED KIA HEADQUARTERS IN IRVINE, CA AND ASKED TO SPEAK WITH THE CEO (XXXX) AND AN WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. PLEASE DO NOT FORCE ME TO MORE PUBLIC DRASTIC MEASURES. MY SPOUSE WAS DRIVING HER KIA SORENTO HOME FROM WORK WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED. THE LANE CHANGED FROM 2 LANES TO 1 LANE SO SHE HAD TO MERGE OVER DOING 70MPH. WITH THE LACK OF BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE, SHE HAD TO BRAKE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. WHEN SHE DID MERGE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF. SHE THEN WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. SHE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TO RESTART IT AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. SHE THEN CALLED OUR INSURANCE COMPANIES ROADSIDE SERVICE. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER TRIED TO SEE IF HE WAS ABLE TO GET IT STATED BUT COULD NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE KIA DEALER IN KILLEEN, TEXAS. THE SERVICE ADVISOR CALLED US BACK AND INFORMED US THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. MY WIFE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. THERE WAS APPARENTLY A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES THAT WE WERE NOT NOTIFIED BY EITHER MAIL OR A PHONE CALL. THIS IS COMPLETELY UN-ACCEPTABLE.
(XXXX) AGAINST KA MOTORS 07/06/18 CASE # (XXXX) (WAITING 15 WEEKS) REFUND DUE ME TOWING AND KEEPING MY CAR 5 TO 6 WEEKS $456.06. MOTOR RECALL EARLY 2018 TOOK IN KIA SHAWNEE MISSION, KS NO PROBLEM, NO RECALL, ABOUT 30 DAYS B4 VACATION. ON 07/13/18 MOTOR BLEW UP ON HIGHWAY IN MIDDLE OF NIGHT ABOUT 4 HOURS FORM MY HOME WITH 2 MINOR GRANDCHILDREN, SCARED TO DEATH MANEUVERED TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY WITH NO POWER, I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND DISABLED, VERY FREIGHTING. TOOK KIA ABOUT 5 TO 6 WEEKS TO REPLACE ENGINE. I HAD TO REFILE THIS CLAIM 2 SEPARATE OCCASSION7/13 & 9/13 DUE KIA CONSUMER AFFAIRS FAULT. SUP ALBERT SAID WOULD REFUND $456.96 FOR THE TOW FEE AND CUTTING, KIA CONSUMER AFFAIRS NOT RETUNING CALLS FOR OVER 2 WEEKS, VACATION SHORT AND TROUBLES GETTING BACK HOME.10/23 TOMAS SUP. SAID BECAUSE OF DELAYS ON SENDING CHECK OUT, CHECK WOULD BE SENT BY 2ND DAY OR NEXT DAY AIR. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN, BROKEN PROMISED AGAIN! WHEN I WENT BACK TO GET MY CAR 4 HOURS AWAY I HAD TO PAY A FRIEND TO GO WITH ME TO DRIVE MY CAR, SO I COULD DRIVE THE RENTAL CAR BACK TO BRANSON, MO. I FEEL I AM DUE ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION DUE TO EXTRA EXPENSIVE TO GO BACK THE 4 HOURS AND 30 MIN TO DRIVE BACK TO GET ME CAR, PAYING MY FRIEND. HIGHWAY BETWEEN SPRINGFIELD MO AND BRANSON MO HIGHWAY GOING UP THE MOUNTIAN/HILL. I have to replace the low beam and high beam bulbs several times a year. The low beams are SO dim, I can’t even tell if they are on- forcing me to drive with my bright lights on all the time. The bulbs blow all the time- I have driven without low beams and not none they were blown. The lights are now constantly flickering while driving. Very dangerous.
WE BOUGHT OUR CAR IN OCTOBER 2016. DURING OUR TRANSITION FROM NEW YORK TO GEORGIA OUR ENGINE FAILED ON US. MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK IT TO A KIA AUTOBODY SHOP IN GREENVILLE SOUTH CAROLINA. THEY FIXED IT FREE OF CHARGE DUE TO A RECALL ON OUR SPECIFIC YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF OUR CAR. WE THEN PROCEEDED AS USUAL TAKING CARE OF IT GETTING THE STANDARD OIL CHANGE AND CHECK UPS. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OR WARNINGS FOR WHAT WOULD HAPPEN FOUR MONTHS AFTER. ON JULY 10, 2018 AT 2:45 PM MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY I20 E HEADING HOME. THE CAR STARTED SHAKING MY HUSBAND PULLED OVER. THERE WAS BLACK SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE CAR. HE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STEPPED OUT A FEW SECONDS AFTER OUR CAR EXPLODED ON HIM. COUNTING OUR BLESSINGS THAT HE, NOR I AND OUR THREE KIDS WERE NOT IN THE CAR. WE REPORTED TO KIA THAT SAME DAY. WE ARE CURRENTLY WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM SOME ONE.

"TAKATA RECALL" I PURCHASE MY 2014 KIA SORENTO FROM A USED DEALER WITH 85,052 MILES ON IT. IN JULY I STARTED HEARING SOME LOUD POPPING NOISE SO, I CONTACTED MY VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACT AND WAS ADVISE THAT IT NEEDED TO GO TO A SHOP, UPON GOING TO THE SHOP IT WAS DIAGNOSIS AND I WAS TOLD IT HAD A SEC147 ENGINE RECALL DUES TO THIS ISSUE BACK IN SEPTEMBER OF 2017 THIS SAME VEHICLE HAD AN SEC147 ENGINE RECALL ALSO ALONG WITH REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR INSIDE THE HUBS.
POWER STEERING FAILED TWICE WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION AT APX. 60 MPH.
ON 7/5/2014 9:00 A.M. I PLACE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, TURNED THE KEY BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER TO START. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ACCELERATION ISSUE ALSO.
LAST WEEK WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 65MPH MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON(STAYED ON) AND MY VEHICLE STARTED KNOCKING. I WENT HOME PARKED IT FOR THE NIGHT AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. THE DEALERSHIP SAID AS LONG AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS SOLID (NOT FLASHING) IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE THE 30 MIN TO BRING IT TO THEM. THEY CALLED TODAY TO STATE THE ENGINE IS BLOWN DUE TO METAL SHAVINGS IN THE ENGINE AND OIL. I AM LUCKY THE CAR EVEN MADE IT THERE, SINCE THE ENGINE HAS "BLOWN" SINCE THEY HAVE HAD IT!!!! I HAVE KEPT UP HAVING OIL CHANGED REGULARLY, AND I DO HAVE RECEIPTS. THEY ARE SAYING MY I NEED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE AND IT IS NOT COVERED AND MY WARRANTY IS EXPIRED EVEN THOUGH I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE PAST STATING THE WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO 120,000 MILES!! THEY SAY THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF THE LETTER, SO IT MUST BE FAKE!!. I DONT KNOW WHAT I'M GOING TO DO I USED ALL OF MY SAVINGS TO BUY THIS CAR FOR $22,000 JUST THREE YEARS AGO!!!!! IT CURRENTLY ONLY HAS 79K MILES ON IT!!
WHEN BRAKING, BRAKES GIVE OUT AND CAR SKIDS. ON TURNS, I HAVE TO PUMP BRAKES TO TRY AND REGAIN CONTROL.
ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING LOST POWER AND LOCKING UP ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED ON THE HWY HAD TO PULL OVER BEFORE IT COMPLETE LOCKED THE ENGINE UP
I BROUGHT MY CAR TO DEALER BECAUSE AIRBAGS WARNING LIGHT WAS ON. THEY CHARGED $124 TO DIAGNOSE AND RECOMMEND REPLACING DRIVER SEAT BACK TO FIX IT. IT WILL COST $2100. I DECLINED, THEN I SAW MANY PEOPLE HAD SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUE AND COMPLAINED ON THE INTERNET. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER.
SC147. WHY WASN'T ALL THE 2014 KIA SORENTOS INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. MY VEHICLE STALLED OUT ON ME TODAY DOING THE SAME THING THAT THIS RECALL WAS FOR. REPORTED IT TO KIA AND THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING. MY VEHICLE WAS GOING 55 WHEN IT LOST ACCELERATION AND NO POWER STEERING AND THE LIGHTS FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD WITH ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ON. COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT, THANK GOD NO OTHER TRAFFIC WAS AROUND.
CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL FOR RADIO, AND SPEED CONTROL AND HANDS FREE PHONE FEATURES STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY YOU PRESS THE PHONE BUTTON AND VOLUME GOES UP OR DOWN HIT MUTE AND VOICE COMMAND GOES ON DIALS NUMBERS AT RANDOM STARTLING YOU GIVES STRANGE BURNING SMELL FROM STEERING WHEEL . THE POWER SEAT BUTTON ON DRIVERS SIDE WORK ON AND OFF HAS BEEN BOUGHT TO DEALER FOR PROBLEMS AND THE SAY THE FIXES WIRES FOR SEAT CONTROLS TWICE BUT STILL HAVE PROBLEMS. WHEN TURNING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT HAS WEIRD SOUND LIKE TIRES ARE RUBBING OR SKIDDING ON LOOSE ROCKS THOUGHT IT WAS TIRES BOUGHT NEW ONES BUT STILL HAPPENING DEALER DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS APPEARED DIM, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO DRIVE WITH THE HI-BEAMS ACTIVATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WOULD BURN OUT EVERY 4-6 MONTHS. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOE MYERS KIA (16484 NORTHWEST FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77040) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 103,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY BLOW THE BULBS AND THE BRAKE LIGHT HOUSING LOOKS TO BE BROWN LIKE IT OVERHEATED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. ALSO THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS HAVE A MIND OF THERE OWN, YOU PUSH SAY THE VOLUME DOWN KEY AND THE VOICE RECOGNITION COMES ON NONE OF THE BUTTONS ON THE DRIVER SIDE SEEM TO DO WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO ON THE STEERING WHEEL

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT GLASS SHOP RECOMMENDED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CASE NUMBER: 12745485 WAS OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
Paint continues to peel on the hood and a pillars of the vehicle. Issue seems to be common enough that something needs to be done. My vehicle will not pass for a safety inspection once its starts to rust/rot due to the loss of paint. The uploaded quote and pictures is for the a pillar peeling, I put a bug reflector over the hood to try to cover it and stop the peeling.
HEADLIGHT LO BEAM QUITS FUNCTIONING EVEN THOUGH BULB IS GOOD. REMOVING AND REINSTALLING SOMETIMES STARTS IT AGAIN. SOMETIMES JUST BUMPING IT MAKES IT WORK. CURRENTLY I CAN NOT GET IT TO WORK AGAIN AND THE BULB LOOKS GOOD. BEGAN 5/25/2018

THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY ADVISED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A GLASS COMPANY TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURES WERE NOT DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. CONSUMER STATED THE SUNROOF EXPLODED FOR NO REASON AT ALL. I DID NOTIFIED THE HEADQUARTERS OF KIA AND PROVIDED PICTURES FROM BOTH INSTANCES AND THE PERSON SAID THAT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL. WE DROVE TO THE STORE AND I HEAD A NOICE THAT'S WHEN I WENT HOME AND CHECK IT OUT HAD IT LOOKED AT BY COUPLE MECHANICS AND TOLD ME TO PARK IT IT WAS ROD BEARINGS SENT VIDEO TO KIA DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED WHAT I WAS ALREADY TOLD MOTOR SHOT. COST TOO MUCH FOR ME TO REPLACE MOTOR SO IT'S JUST SITTING THERE PAYING ON A CAR I CANT DO ANYTHING WITH. THE COST FOR REPLACEMENT IS 7500 TO 8500 THAT'S NOT IN MY BUDGET.
TODAY, I WAS PUTTING MY SON IN HIS CAR SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT. I HAD PLACED THE KEY IN THE FRONT SEAT WHILE PUTTING HIM IN THE CARSEAT. WHEN I HAD SHUT THE BACK DRIVER SIDE DOOR, THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED. EVERY DOOR OF OUR VEHICLE LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY WHILE MY 2 YEAR OLD SON WAS INSIDE THE CAR. WE HAD TO CALL A TOW COMPANY TO COME AS AN EMERGENCY TO UNLOCK OUR CAR. IT TOOK THEM 30 MINUTES TO EVEN GET TO OUR LOCATION. WHEN THE CAR WAS UNLOCKED MY SON WAS HOT TO THE TOUCH AND SWEATING. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 72 DEGREES. THIS IS A SAFELY HAZARD FOR THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT LOCK ON ITS OWN WHILE NOT IN MOTION IF ANY AT ALL. IF IT HAD BEEN ANY HOTTER DURING THIS DAY, I WOULD HAVE HAD TO BREAK THE CAR WINDOW JUST TO SAVE MY SON FROM BECOMING A HEAT RELATED CASUALTY AND GOING TO THE HOSPITAL OR ANYTHING WORSE.
BOTH REVERSE LIGHT ASSEMBLIES HAVE BEEN MELTED BY THE BACKUP LAMPS CAUSING A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD.

WHILE DRIVING 45 MILES PER HOUR ON A STRAIGHTAWAY, I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THEN A CLUNKING NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL KIA DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT BOTH AXLES SHEARED OFF AND THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS SPLIT, WITH ALL FLUID LEAKING OUT. THIS 2014 SORENTO ONLY HAS 105,000 MILES ON IT, MAINLY FROM HIGHWAY DRIVING. THIS WAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. HAD I BEEN GOING FASTER, THE LIKELIEHOOD OF AN ACCIDENT WAS HIGH.

THE YELLOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. TODAY WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC THE CAR WHILE DRIVING WENT LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. RPMS ON TAC WENT HIGH CAR SEEMED TO BE STUCK FOR A BRIEF MOMENT IN NEUTRAL. I COST TO A RED LIGHT. SEEM TO CORRECT ITSELF THE SHIFT INDICATOR ON DASH KEEPS GOING OUT. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME A FEE FOR DIAGNOSTIC. I FEEL THIS IS PUTTING MY SAFETY AT RISK. KIA WONT STAND BEHIND THEIR 100K MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT USED IN 2014. I TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE IT CAME UP A MODULE ERROR CODE. BUT WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE IT.

The paint is pealing around the front door pillars, on the hood and on top in the back of the car. The paint has started to bubble on both sides of the car just behind the back doors. In the attached pictures I try to point out several of them but not all. I have seen so many Kia's with the same peeling issues around town and online.

MY 2014 KIA SORRENTO EX STARTED LEAKING MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL AT 99,000 MILES. THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND THE BACK OF MY CAR ARE COVERED IN OIL FROM THE LEAK THAT STARTED WHILE DRIVING. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT LAST YEAR. IT IS THE OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT. IT WILL BE A $300 REPAIR. WHEN I ASKED IF THIS WAS A NORMAL ISSUE WITH VEHICLES, HE SAID IT WAS NOT. The paint is peeling off of the car. My safety is not at risk but this is a serious manufacturer defect. The defect has been confirmed by the dealer but they are now refusing to repair the paint. The pint has been inspected by auto repair shops and it is called delamination where the paint peels off the primer in sheets. There were no warnings but the paint began peeling in 2018.
