On April 9, 2021, I was driving on the expressway and felt an odd change in the vehicle's handling while I was accelerating. Very shortly after, I exited the expressway and came to a stop at the red light at the end of the exit ramp. At that point, the engine simply stopped functioning. The starter did not turn the engine over at all, though the battery was fully charged and the electrical systems were working. I managed to get the vehicle safely onto the shoulder of the exit ramp, and was able to call for assistance. I had the car towed to Pep Boys who told me the oil pan was empty and the engine had overheated, damaging the connecting rod and pistons. A complete engine replacement was necessary. Knowing that this sounded very much like the issue resulting from a previous recall (ID 297880/sc176), which had supposedly been corrected on 6/4/2019, I had the car towed to Sons KIA in McDonough, GA. Sons gave me a repair estimate to replace the catalytic convertor, along with several other replacement suggestions (bulbs, wipers, tires, battery, etc. NONE of which were actually in need of replacement). No mention was made at all about the engine or the fact that the car was inoperable. I eventually discovered that Sons had lost the key to the car, and had only learned of the converter through the DTC codes, and never even looked under the hood or attempted to start the car. Though they claimed to have performed recall update 370541/sc200, they were not even able to access the cabin or engine compartment without a key. I had the car towed to KIA Atlanta South in Morrow, GA, where it has sat since 5/26/2021 awaiting evaluation and repair. I was told that it may take 6+ months before their staff has a chance to look at the car, and it will take even longer to find a replacement engine to make repairs. The Dealership Manager suggested I sell the car to CarMax as scrap, which would be a loss of $7,000+ in value if I can wait indefinitely for repairs they are responsible for.
2015 KIA SOUL. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AN UNREPAIRED RECALL ISSUE. *AS *JS
Excessive engine oil usage.
RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION DATED JANUARY 25, 2021 REFERENCING A POTENTIAL OF AN ENGINE FIRE. THE NOTICE INDICATED TWO MIL LIGHTS, CHECK ENGINE AND OIL. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN ILLUMINATING THESE LIGHTS FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 WEEKS. HOWEVER, THEY WOULD NEVER STAY ILLUMINATED; CONTINUED TO TURN ON AND OFF. VISITED THE LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP, SUSSMAN KIA OF ROSLYN, PA. INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A LEAKY OIL PAN. PART WAS ORDERED. SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR MARCH 24. INFORMED PRIOR TO PICKING IT UP THAT THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCHED HAD TO BE REPLACED. KIA WAS ONLY COVERING THE OIL PAN. I HAD TO PAY FOR THE OIL AND THE PRESSURE SWITCH. AT NO TIME, WAS I INFORMED OF ANY POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. HOWEVER, ON APRIL 3, DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED. I ALMOST WAS RAMMED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. ON APRIL 6, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAM AND ENGINE TIMING WERE THE ISSUES. THE ENGINE HAS TO BE COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED. CONTACTED SUSSMAN KIA AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD ONLY DO WHAT KIA CORPORATION INSTRUCTED, THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DATA IN THE COMPUTER, AND THAT THE ENGINE PROBABLY BECAME DAMAGED BY THE LOST OF OIL. SUSSMAN KIA RELINQUISHED MY VEHICLE BEING AWARE THAT THIS COULD BE A PROBLEM. AGAIN, I WAS DRIVING ON THE I-476 HIGHWAY. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. KIA IS ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE BOTTOM LINE, NOT LIVES THAT COULD BE IMPACTED BY THEIR NEGLIGENCE. KIA MANUFACTURES VEHICLES THAT ARE CLEARLY UNSAFE AND THEN CONTINUES WITH POOR MAINTENANCE EVEN WITH THEIR OWN RECALLS. THEY "TIES" THEIR OWN DEALERSHIP HANDS IN REPAIRS; LIMITING WHAT KIA WILL PAY FOR UNDER WARRANTY. I HAD TO PAY FOR AN OIL PRESSURE SWITCH THAT ACTUALLY WAS FAULTY.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000.
I GET AN ERROR CODE P050A IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 50 F AFTER STARTING THE CAR. THE CSR HAS 68K MILES ON IT. THIS CODE RELATES TO COLD START IDLE AIR CONTROL PERFORMANCE. HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP AND A FAULTY PURGE SOLENOID WAS REPLACED AND THROTTLE BORE CLEANED. NOW THREE WEEKS LATER, I GET THE SAME CODE AGAIN. CAR SEEMS TO DRIVE FINE, BUT WHEN I FIRST START THE MOTOR SEEMS TO SURGE FOR A FEW SECONDS. I AM CONCERNED THIS ISSUE WILL DAMAGE THE MOTOR OR MIGHT EVEN CREATE A SAFETY HAZARD.
The contact owns a 2015 Kia Soul. The contact stated she had to add additional oil to the vehicle two weeks before needing the maintenance on the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that she did not locate any oil leaks. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, and it was diagnosed with needing an oil consumption test to be performed. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR A WEEK. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES BEFORE AND WAS TOLD IT HAD A CODE OF P05A. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THEY CAN'T FIX IT. I'VE EVEN SPOKEN TO KIA, AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON A SOLUTION. I DON'T WANT TO BE DRIVING AND SOMETHING MAJOR HAPPENS TO MY CAR AND I GET INJURED.
I received a recall notice from Kia. The notice said the engine may catch fire because of oil leaks and a Kia dealer would inspect the engine. The Kia dealer mechanic said there was no oil leak, though he noted oil on the valve cover (3-31-21). He also said one ignition coil spring was damaged. When I took the car to my mechanic, he said all the coil springs were soaked with oil due to a defective valve cover gasket. He replaced the gasket and the coils. I submitted documentation for all the claims in this note to the Kia Consumer Assistance department. They said I would have to wait 2 months for a response. I waited 2 months and have received no response. Sincerely, Joe Saccaro. What component malfunctioned? Valve cover gasket. Available for inspection upon request? Yes, I have all the parts. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Engine fire. The NHTSA required the recall. Has the problem confirmed? Yes, by a certified mechanic. (Document included,) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the dealer. Yes, the dealer mechanic confirmed the leak (attached) but did not say the valve cover gasket needed replacement. Were there any symptoms of the problem prior to the failure? Yes, oil on the engine cover, as noted by the Kia Mechanic. (attached)
Shucks was taken to Kia Country of Savannah for recall repairs. ECU update and seat belt cover repaired, however, I explained that car was burning oil (but not leaking) and engine was on and car was making a knocking sound. I had taken my car to a local mechanic while informed me that my car’s engine was bad. I even showed Pat Foran the printout that I was given. The local mechanic I found that I would qualify for the engine replacement based off of his inspection. So I took the car to Kia (barely made it because the car would not go over 60 mph. At Kia, I was told my car passed bearings test and that I would need to pay for a fuel consumption test to determine what was wrong with my car. I was told I would know if my car needed a new engine because it would sound like rocks in a milk carton, which it did but the folks at Kia said they drove it and didn’t hear anything. I find it very strange that my engine light was also off when I got the car back but 20 miles down the road, as I putted my way back home, it came back on. I feel this was there attempt to not fix the car, they were too busy trying to get me to trade it in because I only had 93000 miles on it at the time.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC RETRIEVED DTC CODE: P0420. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.

THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AND THE DEALERSHIP IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, SAID THEY REPLACED IT. KIA OF COLUMBUS ONLY HAD THE CAR 20 MINUTES WHEN THEY SAID THEY WERE COMPLETELY DONE CHANGING THE PART OUT. NOW THERE'S A KNOCK IN THE MOTOR, THE CAR LEFT MY DAUGHTER STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY, IT WOULDN'T GO OVER 40 MPH AND IT HAD TO BE TOWED. SONS KIA IN MCDONOUGH, GEORGIA DID A DIAGNOSTIC ON IT WHICH SAID IT NEEDED A NEW ENGINE ASSEMBLY. I DON'T BELIEVE THE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED IN THE FIRST PLACE CAUSING THE CURRENT DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELT SMOKE FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED UPON TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE WHEN DEPRESSED AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT FLAMES AROSE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE ONTO THE HEADREST AND UP TO THE DASHBOARD AND WINDSHIELD. THE CONTACT WAS THEN ABLE TO UNBUCKLE HER SEATBELT AND JUMP OUT THE VEHICLE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL MOVING. THERE WERE NO CRASH OR INJURIES DUE TO THE FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE CONTACT HAS NOT NOTIFIED LOCAL DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
IN NOVEMBER 2020 I HAD A DANGEROUS ENCOUNTER ON THE I 94 EXPRESSWAY IN CHICAGO. MY CAR A 2015 KIA SOUL ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , AND THE ENGINE BEGAN STALL, WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING A SEMI WAS BEHIND ME , THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO VEER OFF THE EXPRESSWAY TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. THIS WAS THE START OF THE CRAZINESS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ONAND OFF 4 TIMES SINCE THE EXPRESSWAY EPISODE.I'VE HAD MANY ENCOUNTERS WITH THE KIA DEALERSHIPS (5) AND KIA MOTORS OF AMERICA REGARDING THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE CARS POOR PERFORMANCE . IN BETWEEN THE TIME OF NOW AND THEN I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THEY HAVE REQUESTED FROM GETTING A CATALYTIC CONVERTER OIL CHANGES ALL THESE THINGS NOTHING HAS CHANGED IS ACTUALLY HAS GOTTEN WORSE I'VE EVEN GOTTEN A KNOCK SENSOR REPLACED WHICH AT THOMAS KIA IN INDIANA SEE IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM, DIDN'T. I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR THIS VEHICLE DATED JANUARY 27 2021 WITH ALL MY PRIOR COMPLAINTS DOCUMENTED, FROM THE OIL LIGHT BEING ON ,TO AGAIN THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING AND STAYING ON . KIA AND THE KIA DEALERS REFUSE TO STAND BY THERE WORDS STATED ON THE RECALL NOTICE OF THE VEHICLE . THE 2015 KIA SOUL IS CURRENTLY NAPLETON KIA IN RIVER OAKS ILLINOIS. I WAS TOLD BY A KIA OF AMERICA REPRESENTATIVE AND KIA NAPLETON SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY $400. TO HAVE THEM ASSESSED TO FIND OUT THE REASON FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYING ON. THE RECALL PLAINLY STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE ASSESSED TO DETERMINE WHY THE LIGHT IS ON.
The contact owns a 2015 Kia Soul. The contact stated that the vehicle had been idling roughly. The contact stated that the engine would vibrate and shake the entire vehicle while stopped at a traffic signal. The contact stated that she was adding amount of engine oil to the vehicle every week. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V750000 (Engine). The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed and determined the engine had passed a mandatory engine test. The contact was not advised if the Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS) software had been updated. The contact stated that following the recall, the engine failure recurred. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000.
KIA RECALLED MY ENGINE. THE ENGINE DIED YESTERDAY. KIA IS TELLING IT'S GOING TO BE MULTIPLE DAYS UNTIL THEY CAN EVEN SCAN THE CAR. THIS IS A SCAM. THEY NEED TO OFFER A LOANER OR A RENTAL IN THE MEANTIME, OTHERWISE, THEY'RE NOT FULFILLING THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE RECALL. MY HEALTH AND SAFETY ARE GREATLY AFFECTED WITHOUT MY CAR. THIS IS NOT A FREE AND SAFE REMEDY.
I HAVE 2 2015 KIA SOULS AND OIL LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AT LOW RPMS WITHIN A 2 WEEKS OF EACH OTHER. I REPLACED THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR ON MY DAUGHTERS SOUL TO FIX ISSUE. IT STARTED ON MY WIFE'S CAR THIS MORNING. I SEE RECALLS FOR OTHER KIA MODULES FOR THIS SENSOR AND LOOKS LIKE IT NEEDS TO EXPAND TO THE SOUL. GETTING A FALSE WARNING CAN MAKE YOU GET OFF THE ROAD IN HAST STINKING THERE IS A MAJOR ISSUE.
I WAS NOTIFIED OF ENGINE FIRE RECALL ON MY KIA SOUL. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN COMPLAINING OF BURNING SMELL, ENGINE LIGHT, TIRE LIGHTS COMING ON - EVERY TIME THEY REFUSE TO FIX ANYTHING. I WAS TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP BY SERVICE STAFF THAT 'HE'S SURE MY CAR IF FINE AND IT WOULD PASS THIER' INSPECTION, SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO. EVEN WITH THE RECALL LETTER. THE STAFF PERSON ALSO SAID THAT THE MEDIA (NEWS) IS 'MAKING IT ALL UP'. I AM DISABLED AND THEY REFUSE TO HELP WITH MY CAR AND THE ENGINE FIRE RECALL.
MY 2015 KIA SOUL HAS 71,500 MILES ON IT AND HAS THE BASE 1.6L ENGINE. APPARENTLY THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED YET EVEN THOUGH IT HAS THE SAME ISSUES AS THE OTHER RECALLED ENGINES REGARDING BURNING OIL. THIS CAR HAS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION BETWEEN REGULAR 3K MILE OIL CHANGES. IT BURNS OVER A QUART OF OIL PER 1K MILES DRIVEN. WE HAVE A CPO WARRANTY AND EXTENDED DEALER WARRANTY AND WE STILL ARE UNABLE TO GET THIS FIXED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP IS CLAIMING WHAT THEY'VE DOCUMENTED IS NORMAL OIL CONSUMPTION AND THEY REFUSE TO FILE A WARRANTY CLAIM. THE DEALER WILL NOT TAKE OUR WORD THAT WE'VE HAD TO PUT MORE OIL IN THE CAR BETWEEN OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS AND TOLD US WE'D HAVE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THEM VERIFY THE OIL LEVEL WITHOUT US PUTTING MORE IN IT--THEREFORE DRIVE THE CAR WHILE IT HAS NO OIL AND THE DIPSTICK ISN'T REGISTERING IT, WHICH IS UNSAFE. WE KEEP GETTING THE RUN AROUND WHEN THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE OTHER 1.6L ENGINES. WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN RECALLED?

THE CONTACT WANTED A SECOND OPINION AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HOMETOWN KIA (111 MIDTOWN AVE, MT HOPE, WV 25880) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE INTERNAL ENGINE RINGS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT RELATED THE ISSUE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V750000 (ENGINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.
2015 KIA SOUL. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING TO ENGINE FIRE COMPARTMENT SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER HAVING A RECALL REPAIR COMPLETED, THE DEALER ADVISED OF ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE ISSUES WERE RELATED TO THE RECALL AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED AS A PART OF THE RECALL. *JS
I'VE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH BURNING OIL, SIGNIFICANT OIL LOSE IN A SHORT TIME, HAVE ALREADY DONE THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, I ALREADY HAD THE KSDS SOFTWARE UPDATE, THE CAR STARTED JERKING AROUND AND SLOWED DOWN, LOST POWER, IT WAS FINALLY DETERMINED THEY WOULD REPLACE THE ENGINE, BEFORE THE RECALL ACTUALLY STARTED. THEY PUT ANOTHER BAND AIDE ON THE PROBLEM AND INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE ENTIRE ENGINE, THEY ONLY REPLACED THE BLOCK. I WAS ON A TRIP AND THE NEW FIX STARTED TO HEAT UP, I COULD SMELL BURNING OIL, I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS 1 QUART LOW IN ABOUT 378 MILES. I HAVE NOTICED OVER THE LAST 1 1/2 YEARS THAT IT GETS EXTREMELY HOT ON ROAD TRIPS AND LOOSES OIL FAST. I PUT OIL IN BECAUSE I WAS SO FAR FROM HOME AND DID NOT WANT TO BE STUCK IN TENNESSEE. I'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH THIS CRAP FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS. NOW THEY ARE SAYING I HAVE TO DO THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST ALL OVER AGAIN, 4 TIMES! The contact also stated that the coolant would evaporate without warning soon after refilling the coolant reservoir. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who confirmed the oil consumption issue. The mechanic referred her to a dealer. The contact took the vehicle to an unknown dealer where an oil change was performed, and she was instructed to return every 1,000 miles to check the oil level. Upon checking the oil level after 1,000 miles, the contact became aware that the oil level had not changed. The contact was concerned that the dealer had overfilled the engine oil. After another 1,000 miles, she noticed that the vehicle had consumed another quart of oil. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
I recieved a notification of an engine recall for my Kia Soul. Took it to the nearest dealership an was told the issue was resolved. This was roughly March 1 2021. My check engine light appeared and was diagnosed as a catalytic converter/engine issue . Had vehicle towed to the dealership and after a week or who was told the issue was related to the recall and good to go Roughly 4-6 weeks later check engine light reappered with the same malfunction code. Vehicle has been towed to the dealer to diagnose and fix. The kia dealerships in my area are quoting serviced appointments months out, with no courtesy cars offered. Some dealerships have refused service altogether,.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who added oil to the engine and stated that no oil leaks were present. The failure would occur several times after oil changes. THE PERSON WHO WORKED AT THE CAR DEALERSHIP TOOK IT OFF THE TOW DOLLY STATED IT WOULD NOT PASS THE ENGINE TEST. 2 DAYS LATER THEY SAID IT PASSED THE ENGINE TEST BUT I NEED $4600 OF WORK BUT THE ENGINE WAS OK EVEN THOUGH IT WAS BURNING OIL AND KNOCKING. VEHICLE TOWED 65 MILES TO DEALERSHIP. UPDATED SENSOR CODE. REPLACED PVC VALVE. USING 5-30 OIL. STILL LOSING OIL.THIS MORNING, AT APPROX. 92,300, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH COSTS RELATED TO TOWING. ON 1-18-21 THE KIA SERVICE MAN CALLED TO SAY THAT THE NEW ENGINE HAS BEEN INSTALLED BUT THAT THE CAR DOESN'T RUN RIGHT. IT NEEDS A NEW FUEL PUMP AT A COST TO ME OF ABOUT $900. I TALKED WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER WHO CHECKED WITH THE SERVICE DEPT. AND HE SAID THAT THE WARRANTY ONLY COVERS THE DRIVE TRAIN, PLUS THEY FOUND NO EVIDENCE TO SHOW THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS AFFECTED BY THE ENGINE INCIDENT. I PAID THE $896.40 FOR THE NEW FUEL PUMP AND PICKED UP THE CAR YESTERDAY. DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT? THE CAR RUNS FINE...THERE'S AN ENGINE INCIDENT WHICH IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY OR THE RECALL...NOW I HAVE TO PAY $900 TO GET MY CAR BACK TO WHERE IT WAS???

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING SHE NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER JONES KIA (2001 BEL AIR RD, FALLSTON, MD 21047, (410) 877-1700). THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE ENGINE HAD LOST ALL OF THE OIL AND CAUSED MAJOR ENGINE ROD BEARING DAMAGE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A CLAIM. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD BE CONTACTED.
