ENGINE ERROR CODE P050A, NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES EXCEPT REVVING TO 2500 RPM'S WHEN COLD CRANK START IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 50F. COLD AIR IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM. ERROR OCCURED ON THIRD MORNING OF HIGH REVVING. ALSO HAD BOTH OUTSTANDING RECALLS SERVICED INCLUDING HAVING A NEW CAT. CONVERTER INSTALLED 4 DAYS AGO (NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES WITH ANY OF THE RESOLVED RECALL PROBLEMS OR THE CURRENT ERROR CODE) DEALER COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY SOLUTION BUT IS AWARE OF NUMEROUS SOUL OWNERS 2014-2017 WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
In the past year my 2015 Kia Soul has been loosing power, burning oil not leaking and if you have to drive more then 2 hours you have to put oil in it. The engine shakes we took it for a recall but the issue was never fixed.
The contact owns a 2015 Kia Soul. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V750000 (Engine). The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and an engine software update was performed. The contact stated that later while driving at 70 MPH, the vehicle started to decelerate and failed to accelerate above 55 MPH. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to second local dealer; Wyatt Johnson Kia (2285 Trenton Rd, Clarksville, TN 37040: (800) 748-8230) and the vehicle was diagnosed with needing the knock sensor system to be installed. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and made the mechanic aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.
ARE 2015 KIA SOUL HAD CLOSE TO 100,000 MILES ON IT AND WE STARTED TO HAVE LOW LOSS OF OIL AND A LIGHT CLICKING SOUND. WE DID NOT THINK VERY MUCH OF THIS. THERE WAS NO OIL LEAKING AND SO SIGNS OF OIL BURNING THROUGH THE EXHAUST. WE CONTINUED TO CHECK OIL AND KEEP IT FULL BUT IT SEEMED TO BE RUNNING OUT FASTER THEN IT SHOULD. ONE WEEK AFTER PUTTING OIL IN IT WE WERE ON THE INTERSTATE AND LOSS POWER AND STARTED HEARING A LOUD KNOCKING. THE ENGINE IS DEAD AND NEEDS REPLACED. OUR CAR IS NOT UNDER RECALL AND WE STILL HAVE 10,000 DOLLARS LEFT TO PAY ON THE CAR. TO REPLACE THE CAR WITH A NEW ENGINE IS AROUND 5000 DOLLARS. WE HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TODO BUT AFTER RESEARCHING WE LEARNED THAT 2015 KIA SOUL 2.0L MOTORS ARE EXPENSIVE AND IN HIGH DEMAND.
Vehicle is rapidly consuming oil, regularly burning through all 5 quarts of oil within 2,000 miles of an oil change.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT AND ATTEMPTING TO PROCEED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAITED TEN MINUTE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT ON ANOTHER OCCASION WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE WAS SHAKING AND MAKING A KNOCKING SOUND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE RELEASED THE BRAKES, THE NOISE WOULD STOP BUT WHEN THE VEHICLE STATIONARY, THE SOUND RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RECENTLY THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BERWYN KIA (7050 OGDEN AVE, BERWYN, IL 60402) WHERE THE REPAIR OF AN UNKNOWN RECALL WAS COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 123,947.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
THE ENGINE DEVELOPED A ROD KNOCK.. NAPLETON KIA IN ELGIN, IL HAS SAID THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS CRUISING AT MEDIUM SPEED WHEN THE ENGINE KNOCK DEVELOPED. VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN REVVING THE ENGINE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND WILL NOT SHIFT
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE FOR MONTHS NOW. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE PARTS REPLACED THAT CLEARLY ARE RELATED TO THE ENGINE , CAN NOT DRIVE IT AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO THE KIA DEALERSHIP . THEY CORRECTED TWO RECALLS , BUT DID NOT CHECK FOR PROBLEMS WITH MY ENGINE. THEY DID A DX TEST HOWEVER DID NOT DRIVE IT TO CLEARLY SEE IT STILL HAS SAME ISSUES AS WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN , BUT WORSE THAN BEFORE NOW. MY VEHICLE IS PART OF THE CAMPAIGN 20V750 WITH CODE SC200. MY VEHICLE IS ALSO BURNING OIL , TWO TIMES I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THEY ARE SURE IT HAS TO DO WITH ENGINE ISSUES. I CALLED THEM BACK AND ADDRESSED MY CONCERNS AFTER LEAVING WITH IT THE SAME PROBLEMS AS BEFORE AND WAS TREATED AS IF I WAS MAKING UP THE ISSUES I AM HAVING WITH THE VEHICLE . DUE TO I AM THE 2ND OWNER THEY DID NOT WANT TO USE MY WARRANTY I HAVE ON THE ENGINE TO REPAIR OR EVEN CHECK INTO THE ENGINE FOR PROBLEMS . NOW I AM HAVING TO WAIT UNTIL THE MANAGER COMES BACK TO WORK IN TWO DAYS TO GET A RESOLUTION, I CAN NOT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING FOR TOW CHARGES FOR THE 2ND TIME.

SOON AFTER THE STALL, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT A WHITE SMOKE BEGAN TO EMIT FROM VEHICLE. SHE IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE VEHICLE AS THE ENGINE SOON CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED DUE THE FAILURE. DUE TO THE FIRE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAVE YET TO BE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V750000(ENGINE) WHICH SHE LINKED TO HER FAILURE; HOWEVER, HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.
DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND CAR ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH RAPIDLY THEN MY CAR STARTED JERKING AND HESITATING WHEN COMING TO A STOP

An unknown dealer was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the engine failed due to the catalytic converter and a burnt valve inside of the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the previous vehicle owner had received a recall notification on the vehicle. The failure mileage was 160,000. MY 2015 KIA SOUL STALLS AND WON'T PASS 45 MPH I WAS AT THE TURNPIKE WHEN IT HAPPEN. I ALSO KNOW PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. BUT WHEN I LOOK UP FOR MY CAR ITS SAYS I DON'T HAVE A RECALL. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL FOR THIS?

WITHIN A FEW MINUTES, I HEARD A NOISE, AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. THERE WERE NO OIL LEAKS OR ANY FLUIDS UNDER THE CAR. I TOWED THE CAR HOME. I TOWED TO RAY BRANDT KIA IN HARVEY LA 12/7/20. A MONTH LATER, I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE FAILED. BY 1/4/21, I WAS ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO TEAR DOWN THE ENGINE FOR INSPECTION. 1/8/21 [XXX], SVC MGR. SAID VALVE COVER TO BE REMOVED FOR INSPECTION. FIDELITY WARRANTY/RAYBRANDT KIA APPROVED REPAIRS RE: RO101874. PER [XXX], THE INSPECTOR DIRECTED THE TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT. ON 1/13/21, TEST RUNS DONE TO SEE IF IT FIXED THE PROBLEM BUT NO COMPRESSION. NO ACTION TAKEN ON RECALL 20V750. PER [XXX], RAY BRANDT RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE ENGINE. THIS WAS PRIOR TO TWO MORE INSPECTIONS WITH DIFFERENT CONCLUSIONS. FINAL INSPECTION SHOW ENGINE WARPED. DUE TO IGNORING THE RECALL, NO ACTION ON SERVICE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS AND TEST RUNS WITHOUT REPAIRS, THE ENGINE WARPED. BEFORE THIS FAILURE, I HAD NO ENGINE OVERHEATING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED IN JUNE OF 2019 UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V120000 (ENGINE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, AN UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER PRESCOTT VALLEY KIA (5600 MARKET ST, PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ 86314, (928) 759-5600) WHOM ADVISED HIM TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2015 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CONTACT TOOK HIS VEHICLE IN FOR A RECALL REPAIR. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V120000 ( ENGINE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) WAS COMPLETED AT THE DEALER HOLLYWOOD KIA 6011 PEMBROKE RD, HOLLYWOOD, FL 33023 (954) 967-5665 FOR THE ISSUE WITH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE ENGINE WAS ALSO DAMAGED BUT THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY FOUND NO CODE INDICATING DAMAGE. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A REBUILT TITLE EVENTHOUGH THE OWNER BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN A CRASH AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED IT TOTALED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE CRASH SITE. THE VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED WITH DAMAGE TO THE REAR BUMPERS AND TRUNK. THE CONTACT HAD TO SIGN OFF ON THE VEHICLE HAVING A REBUILT TITLE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A SETTLEMENT CHECK TO REPAIR THE DAMAGES. THE MANUFACTURER GAVE THE CONTACT A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE SHOULD BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE REPAIRS TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BUT THE DEALER REFUSED TO HONOR THE ENGINE DAMAGE PORTION OF THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS UNREPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
CAR IS BURNING OIL AT A VERY RAPID RATE AND THE ENGINE IS MAKING NOISE WHEN IN IDLE. MECHANIC CHECKED THE COMPRESSION AND FOUND THAT THE PISTON RINGS ARE WEARING OUT AND WE NEED A NEW MOTOR. KIA WILL NOT WORK WITH US AT THE MOMENT, AND SAYS THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF THE CAR BURNING OIL EVEN THOUGH WE'RE HAVING TO ADD OIL EVERY 500 MILES. WE ARE NOW STUCK MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CAR THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE FOR OUR FAMILY. WE FEEL THIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE MOST RECENT RECALL ON KIA'S.

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON THE STREET AND ON THE FREEWAY, THE HEADLIGHTS BEGUN TO FLICKER ON AND OFF WHEN USING THE TURN SIGNAL, AND WILL TURN OFF COMPLETELY FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN TURN BACK ON. ALSO, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL RANDOMLY FLICKER. I REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT BULBS BUT IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I FIRST GOT IN THE CAR WENT TO A MECHANIC THE CODE SAID IT WAS AN OXYGEN SENSOR SWITCH WISH I HAD CHANGED LAST YEAR AND THEY RECALL AT THE KIA DEALER AFTER ABOUT TWO DAYS THE LIGHT WENT BACK OFF AGAIN WAS OFF FOR ABOUT A WEEK CAME BACK ON AGAIN WENT BACK TO MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE SAME CODE AGAIN THE LIGHT WENT OUT HE TOLD ME MAYBE IT WAS BAD GAS IN THE CAR CAR ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER I WENT TO KIA PAID $90 FOR DIAGNOSTIC THEY SAID IT WAS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER $1,500 JOB I ASKED THEM IF IT WAS PART OF THE OXYGEN SENSOR RECALL THEY SAID NO AND THEY SAID IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER MY HUNDRED THOUSAND MILE GUARANTEE I WENT TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC TO HAVE IT REPAIRED FOR $1,000 AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON A WEEK LATER HE PUT IN A BRAND NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER FROM KIA I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE BECAUSE I LOVE THE CAR BUT I CANNOT SPARE THIS EXPENSE AND I'M AFRAID IF IT WILL CATCH FIRE OR DIE WHILE I'M DRIVING

Leasing a 2015 Kia Soul + from Weston Kia in Portland, Or. on 9/1/20 with 94,191 miles on it. I’ve had routine oil changes done on 12/14/20 @ 99,961 miles & again on 3/8/21 @ 104,432. Now from about 1-2 months after leasing my Kia, the MIL would turn on for some time then go off just to turn back on again. I had an ASE certified mechanic where I work run a diagnostic Check on it with a code of P0014. Called Weston Kia service department about it and I was told that I would have to bring it in to them, charge me $139 to run their diagnostic check to see what’s up! Now On 1/25/21 I received a letter from Kia about a safety recall, #20V750 for my Kia, after 3 months I was finally able to get it in for the recall service. I’ve looked up my vin number again to find out that nothing was done with my car however, now both my MIL & EOPWL, only at idle, is flashing, and I’ve had to add oil to my engine 2 times between oil changes, occasionally during acceleration my car hesitates from lack of power! Now I’m scheduled today, 5/25/21, to go back to the dealership service center to again have my car looked at. Now after reading all 459 complaints from other Kia owners with similar issues, that my first high interest rate, leased car that I still owe 10k on, is either going to cost even more to get fixed or it’s just going to die because I can’t afford to get KIA’s faulty engine problems fixed nor keep going back to have a diagnostic test done @$139 just to tell me it’s nothing! 459 similar complaints is telling me that I just dug myself into a hole.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS AND IGNITION COILS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
THE CAR BROKE DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR BEGAN MAKING A LOUD NOISE AND BEGAN SHAKING AND THEN JUST SHUT DOWN. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP. SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE HOLES IN THE ENGINE BLOCK AND DAMAGE TO THE CYLINDER HEAD. SERVICE DEPARTMENT REQUESTED AND RECEIVED AUTHORIZATION FOR SHORT BLOCK AND CYLINDER HEAD REPLACEMENT. KIA SOUL WAS JUST FIVE YEARS OLD, HAD FEWER THAN 50,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON THE ODOMETER, AND WAS MAINTAINED REGULARLY.
MY VEHICLE KEEPS RUNNING OUT OF OIL AND THERE'S A KNOCKING/RATTLING NOISE. THE NOISE CAN BE HEARD WHILE DRIVING. I TAKE IT TO THE CAR SHOP AND THERE'S NO OIL IN THE CAR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED THE SAME INFORMATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000.

I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY FROM DINNER WITH MY FIANCE AND SON WHO'S 10 YEARS OLD DOING ABOUT 65. THE ENGINE FELT LIKE IT WAS STUTTERING SHAKING AND I LOOKED AT MY DASH BOARD AND ALL MY LIGHTS WERE BLINKING. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. I GOT OUT AND LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND IT WAS ON FIRE. I TOOK OUR SODAS FROM THE CAR FROM THE RESTAURANT TO TRY N PUT IT OUT BUT IT DIDN'T HELP SO I TOLD BOTH MY FIANCE AND SON TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND WE GOT AWAY FROM IT SO WE DIDN'T GET INJURED AND ALL WE COULD DO IS STAND THERE AND WATCH IT BURN.

ON NOV 3RD 2020 I WAS WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ACROSS A ROAD WITH TWO WAY TRAFFIC. I ACCELERATED THROUGH THE TURN IN ORDER TO GET IN FRONT OF ANY ONCOMING VEHICLES. AS SOON AS I DID THIS I NOTICED MY CAR HAD TROUBLE GAINING SPEED AND FELT OFF. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND REALIZED I COULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY AND MY ENGINE WAS MAKING A TERRIBLE KNOCKING NOISE. I DROVE TO WORK AND HOPED IF I LET IT SIT DURING MY SHIFT MAYBE IT WOULD BE BETTER IN THE MORNING (I WORK OVERNIGHT SO THIS HAPPENED IN THE EVENING). AFTER WORK MY CAR WAS STILL MAKING THE SAME NOISE SO I TOOK IT TO MEINEKE WHERE I NORMALLY GET MY OIL CHANGED. THEY DID THE DIAGNOSTIC AND CALLED TO TELL ME I BARELY HAD ANY OIL AND I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. AT FIRST THEY TRIED TO TELL ME IF WAS MY DOING BUT AFTER SOME RESEARCH I HAVE COME ACROSS THIS THREAD WHERE ALMOST EVERYONE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I DO HAVE THE 2.0L ENGINE ON MY 2015 KIA SOUL THAT I PURCHASED IN 2016. CURRENTLY I AM AT AROUND 88,000 MILES WHICH SEEMS TO BE A COMMON THEME. UNFORTUNATELY AFTER TAKING IT TO KIA I WAS INFORMED THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THIS ISSUE. THIS IS BECAUSE SOMEONE LEASED THE VEHICLE BEFORE I PURCHASED IT AND SO I AM CONSIDERED THE SECOND OWNER AND I DO NOT GET THE SAME WARRANTY. TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A MEANS TO FIX MY VEHICLE. TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR INSPECTION AND IT WAS SAID TO BE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND OR TRANSMISSION. BOTH WERE CHANGED AND VEHICLE IS STILL DRIVING SLUGGISH.
I WAS DRIVING ON A ONE LANE ROAD INCLINING WHEN LOUD NOISE STARTED COMING FROM THE ENGINE. WHEN I FOUND A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER, AS I PULLED OVER, THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT ELIMINATED SOLID. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. I THEN TOWED IT TO KIA, AND WAS TOLD BY KIA THAT THE ENGINE THREW A ROD. WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS SO MUCH METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL PAN, THE PAN WAS REPLACED. THERE WAS NO OIL ON THE DIPSTICK AT BREAKDOWN. KIA TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE ALL THE OIL HAD BURNT UP. 30 DAYS PRIOR TO BREAKDOWN I HAD A SOFTWARE UPDATE DONE TO THE EUI, WHICH UPDATE WAS TO ALERT PRIOR TO ROD END BEARING FAILURE. I PROVIDED ALL OIL MAINTENANCE RECORDS TO KIA AND THEY REPLACED MY ENGINE FREE OF CHARGE. IT TOOK 6 WEEKS TO COMPLETE..
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 70 AND NOTICED THAT MY TIRE WAS GETTING LOW. I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY JUST IN TIME. THE TIRE SHOP. AT 9550 ST CHARLES ROCK RD, BRECKENRIDGE HILLS, MO 63114 AT 5PM. THE TWO YOUNG MEN CAME OUT LAUGHING AND ONE CHANGED MY TIRE. LEFT THE SHOP AND 30 MINS LATER MY TIRE WAS ON FLAT. CAME BACK THE NEXT MORNING. YOUNG MAN SAID HE'LL FIX IT. HE DIDN'T GIVE ME ANOTHER BUT STATED A NAIL WAS IN IT. HE THINK I'M STUPID. HE KNOW HE SOLD ME A BAD TIRE WITH THE NAIL IN IT ALREADY. HE PAINTED THE TIRE THEN PUT IT BACK ON MY CAR. I WAS SUSPICIOUS ABOUT THE PAINT AND PAINT BRUSH. LEFT THE SHOP AND WENT HOME. ON MY WAY TO WORK THE SAME DAY ALMOST HAD TWO ACCIDENTS. TIRE WAS HARD TO STEER AND THE WHEEL DIDN'T TURN. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH. I COULD OF LOST MY LIFE 😔. . PEOPLE NEED GOOD USED TIRES. FINALLY I WENT TO CAR X AND THEY TOOK CARE OF MY PROBLEM AND I FELT SAFE TO DRIVE AGAIN.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A COLORADO HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY WHEN MY CAR STARTED TO SMOKE. ONCE WE PULLED OVER THE CAR BEGAN TO SMOKE EVEN MORE, AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE FRONT PART UNDER THE HOOD CAUGHT ON FIRE. WE HAD TO QUICKLY EXIT AS THE CAR IMMEDIATELY WAS ENGULFED INTO FLAMES.
I WAS GOING 65 MPH, WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL ON, WHILE IT WAS RAINING. I HIT SOME STANDING WATER, WHICH CAUSED ME TO HYDROPLANE. TWO WEEKS AFTER RECEIVING A LETTER FROM KIA MOTORS THAT THE EXPECTATIONS OF OIL MAINTENANCE HAS CHANGED FROM WHAT IT WAS WHEN I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED MY VEHICLE. I NOTICE THAT MY CAR BURNED OIL QUICKLY AND EVEN ACCUSED THE DEALER OF NOT PUTTING ENOUGH OIL IN MY VEHICLE AT OIL CHANGE INTERVALS BUT I NEVER SEEN OIL LEAKS ON MY DRIVE WAY. WHILE DRIVING, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY WOULD NOT ACCELERATE IN MID TRAFFIC. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. COME TO FIND OUT THAT THE OIL THAT I THOUGHT WAS BURING WAS ACTUALLY GETTING INTO MY CAT. CONVERTER WHICH CAUSED THE DAMAGE. MY VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 100K MILES. REPORTED TO THE KIA CONSUMER ASSISTANCE FOR RECALL AND AFTER 4 WEEKS OF GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH THEM ON CLAIM NUMBER 13810354, THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT THEY COULD NOT REACH ME AND DENIED MY CLAIM. I HAVE ACTUAL DATES AND TIME THAT I HAVE CALLED AND REACHED OUT TO THEM TO GET A ASSISTANCE. I WAS CONSTANTLY TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT REACH THEIR DPSM AND ECR TO GET APPROVAL. MY CASE WAS CLOSED. I FIND OUT THAT OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THEIR KIA SOULS. PLEASE HELP. THIS APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT CAUSING THE OIL TO BURN AND DESTROYING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IN THESE VEHICLES. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE BOWIE KIA MOTORS SERVICE STATION FOR 4 WEEKS WHILE I WAS WAITING ON A RESPONSE FROM KIA CONSUMER ASSISTANCE. CALLED KIA CONSUMER ASSISTANCE TODAY AND WAS TOLD OF THE DENIAL FOR REPAIR ASSISTANCE.
VEHICLE IS LOSING OIL SO MUCH THAT OIL LIGHT IS FLASHING ON AND KIA SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. IT'S LOSING MORE THAN 3 QTS IN LESS THAN 3K MILES. THERE ARE NO OBVIOUS SIGNS OF A LEAK AND THE CAR IS MAKING AN UNEXPLAINED KNOCKING SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND AROUND 40 MPH.

Purchased my 2015 Kia Soul in March 2020. Its has been burning oil forever. My husband, literally has to top off the oil every other day. I've called Kia Corp and they say it's not included in any recalls. Now, the car sputters and is having issues with accelerating. I've taken to my local mechanic and they have no clue why it's doing this. I also have a cat converter issue that needs to be fixed. I first started having issues at 90000 miles. How can my car have issues described in 3 recalls, but not be included in them? I've sunk so much $ into this thing! Will never purchase another.
