MY CAR FEELS LIKE IT STEERS SIDEWAYS DOWN THE ROAD,IT BOUNCES,HARD TO CONTROL,IT LOSES POWER IN 3RD GEAR,THE BRAKES DON'T WORK WELL AT ALL,ENGINE PINGS LOUDLY CONSTANTLY.I TOOK MY CAR TO CARFAX IN MODESTO CALIFORNIA WHOM I PURCHASED FROM AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG,TH S IR LIEING,LIVING, CAR WAS WRECKED AND PAINTED OVER ,ITS FULL OF OVER SPRAY,THE CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE,I WANT IT REPLACED WITH A NEW KIASOUL
BOUGHT A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2017 KIA SOUL IN 2019 AND 1 YEAR AFTER USAGE THERE WAS AN ENGINE FAILURE FOR WHAT IT APPEARED TO BE NO REASON. I'VE READ THAT OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING AROUND 60,000 MILES AND CONVENIENTLY ENOUGH OUR VEHICLE HAD 65000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE ENGINE FAILURE. THERE WAS A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE AND THEN SMOKE WHEN IT FAILED. IT CAUSED A CRACK TO GO UP THROUGH THE SHORT BLOCK AND LUCKILY WASN'T ABLE TO DAMAGE THE VALVE TRAIN. I'VE TRIED CONTACTING EVERY KIA DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM BUT I GOT THE SENSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THE COSTLY HEADACHE, ESPECIALLY DUE TO THE FACT I WAS BARELY OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY THRESHOLD OF 60000 MILES. I FEEL LIKE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE ENGINES ESPECIALLY IF THEY IS AN ONGOING LAWSUIT AGAINST OTHER KIA MODELS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS.
GOT IN MY CAR SEPTEMBER 2020 AND HEARD KNOCKING UNDER HOOD. DRIVE IT TO THE PENZOIL LESS THAN 15 MINUTES AWAY AND I KNOCK GOT FASTER AND LOUDER. PENZOIL TOLD ME PARK IT AND TOW TO NEAREST KIA. EXTREMELY DISHEARTENING I'M 23 Y/O SINGLE MOTHER. NOW WITH A BROKEN CAR. 16000 IN DEBT FOR A YEAR AND HALF WORTH OF DRIVING LESS THAN 80000 ON ODOMETER JEEESHHH KIA . HOPEFULLY WE GET RECALL SOON
MY 2017 KIA SHOWED NO SIGNS OF PROBLEMS UNTIL I WAS DRIVING TO STORE ON STATE ROAD 9 GOING 40 MPH AND WHILE IN DRIVE IN DIED OUT ON ME. I TURNED THE KEY OVER A FEW TIMES. IT FINALLY CAUGHT AND STARTED. I CONTINUED HOME AND IT DID THIS AGAIN. ONLY THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I GOT IT STARTED AND MOVED OFF THE ROAD AND HAD IT TOWED TO MY MOTHERS. WHEN I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN IT WOULDNT START. MY STEP FATHER LOOKED AT IT AND THE PISTON HAD FLOWN IT TO THE SPARK PLUG. AND I WAS TOLD MY MOTER WAS BLOWN.
I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND MY CAR CUT OFF. I WOULD NOT CRANK BACK UP. THE. MECHANIC SAID THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE. MY CAR WILL NEED A NEW MOTOR. I HAVE ONLY 80,000 MILES. NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM AND LOVED MY CAR.
SOMETHING IS KNOCKING OR TICKING IN THE MOTOR FEELS LIKE UNDER MY FEET OF DRIVERS FLOOR BOARD. HAVE KEPT REGULAR OIL CHANGES ND IT STARTED OFF BY SPITTING AND SPUTTERING WHEN I WOULD COME TO A STOP TO NOW TICKING. WENT TO START IT THE NEXT MORNING TO GO TOO WORK AND IT SOUNDED AWFUL SO I DIDNT DRIVE IT. NOW WHEN I START IT THE BATTERY LIGHT IS ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND IT WILL START FOR ABOUT 3 SEC AN SHUTS OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE ENGINE JERKED AND SHUTOFF. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AFTER PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE MATT CASTRUCCI KIA DEALER LOCATED AT 3013 MALL PARK DR, DAYTON, OH 45459, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.
AT 91K MILES, THE ENGINE BLEW. AT 84K MILES THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS CONDEMNED.
TL* THE CONTACT STATED THEY WERE CALLING FOR THEIR PARENTS WHO OWN A 2017 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THEIR FATHER WAS DRIVING AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN WHEN A VEHICLE TWO CARS IN FRONT SUDDENLY STOPPED CAUSING THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THEM TO REAR-END THE VEHICLE THEN BOUNCE AND HIT THEIR VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE PASSENGER RECEIVED A HEAD AND NECK INJURY. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NEEDED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OTHER VEHICLE'S DROVE OFF WITH NO ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILUR3E MILEAGE WAS 2.800.
Kia started knocking loudly and then seized while driving turnpike. Car had to be pushed off road. Unable to restart. It had blown a rod. Oil was dry but had not appeared to be leaking prior and no warning lights were on before failure. Now needs new engine but is not in any current recalls thought the engine seems to have been recalled in other models.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 65 WHEN I HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE MOTOR. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NO OVER HEATING NOTHING. LOUD KNOCK CAR GOES DEAD.I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 1YR. GOT IT AT 52.000 MILES IS NOW AT 84.000. STILL UNDER KIA 100.000 MILE WARRANTY. BUT THEY WON'T COVER IT . AND THERE MAIN THING IS I PUT 30.000. MILES ON IT. I HAVE KIDS. I TRAVEL. KEPT UP ON OIL CHANGES EVERYTHING

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TWICE TO GARDEN GROVE KIA LOCATED AT 13731 HARBOR BLVD, GARDEN GROVE, CA 92843, (888) 992-1833, WHERE THE MECHANICS WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE APPROXIMATELY WAS 93,705.

TOOK OFF FROM STOP SIGN GOT UP TO 55 MPH AND ENGINE BLEW. NO WARNING LIGHTS. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. NOTHING. IT JUST BLEW. OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WAS NORMAL. IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY KIND OF NOISE OR HESITATION. I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF ROAD AND WAS TRAVELING SLIGHTLY DOWNHILL WHEN IT BLEW. IT WAS 5:20 AM WHEN IT HAPPENED.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR 1 HOUR OR MORE AND TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN ON AGAIN MY CAR AND IMMEDIATELY TURN ON THE AC MY CAR ENGINE SHAKES AND TURN OFF THE MOTOR. I LEFT MY CAR IN THE DEALER WHEN I BUY THE CAR IN 4 TIMES BUT NOBODY FOUND THE PROBLEM. SO I FEEL FEAR FOR WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE I NEED HELP. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2018.*DT*JB *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL CEASED WITH THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE DISCONTINUED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000.
MILEAGE 75,000 AND THE ENGINE THREW A ROD THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE BLOCK AND THROUGH THE OIL PAN. I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH ABOUT 22,000 MILES. I'VE DRIVEN THE CAR LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND HAVE PUT ABOUT 50,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE MAINTAINED THE VEHICLE ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGES EVERY 5000 MILES. I HAVE NEVER HAD THE CHECK ENGINE OR OIL LIGHTS COME ON SINCE I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE ABOUT 80 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON, THE CAR STRUGGLED AND FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT, LIKE IT WASN'T GETTING GAS OR THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAILING. THE CHECK ENGINE AND OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND SMOKE WAS BILLOWING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I HAD TO DRIVE FOR ABOUT HALF A MILE OR SO TO THE NEAREST EMERGENCY PULL OFF AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. WHEN I WAS FINALLY BRAVE ENOUGH TO POP THE HOOD, THERE WAS OIL SPRAYED ALL OVER THE ENGINE BAY, A SMALL PUDDLE ON THE GROUND, AND NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY LOCAL GARAGE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE BLEW THE CONNECTOR ROD OUT OF THE ENGINE BLOCK AND THROUGH THE OIL PAN. MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE BUT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON 2012-16 KIA SOUL FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. IT CANNOT BE A COINCIDENCE THAT MY VEHICLE HAS THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. MY LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP HAS SAID I CAN BRING IT IN, PAY THE $100 DIAGNOSTICS FEE, AND THEY'LL DECIDE IF IT CAN BE COVERED SINCE THE WARRANTY HAS LAPSED. SINCE I AM THE SECOND OWNER, I DO NOT HAVE THE 100,000 MILE 10 YEAR WARRANTY. THE WARRANTY IS REDUCED TO 3 YEARS 60,000 FROM THE ORIGINAL (FIRST OWNER) PURCHASE DATE.
THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A TICKING NOISE. WHICH GOT LOUDER AND FASTER AS I DROVE. I WENT 20 MINUTES DOWN THE RODE AND THE CAR STOPPED AND STARTED ROLLING FORWARD WITH NO POWER AS IF I WAS IN NEUTRAL. I TRIED TO JUMP THE CAR AND DID NOT SUCCEED, THE OIL WAS BONE DRY. I ADDED OIL AND THE SAME NOISE AROSE AND THE CAR STOPPED AGAIN. LASTLY. I COULD NOT GET MY CAR TO GO 2-4 MIN WITHOUT IT TURNING OFF. I WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A VIDEO OF THIS HAPPENING, I DO COULD NOT LOAD THE FILE CHOOSEN
I WAS WAITING IN THE DRIVE-THRU OF FAST FOOD RESTAURANT, WHEN MY OIL LIGHT STARTED TO FLICKER THEN CAME ON SOLID. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE OIL LIGHT HAD EVER COME ON. I DROVE DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET TO A GAS STATION AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. I CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL, BUT NO OIL REGISTERED ON THE DIP STICK. I ADDED 2 QUARTS OF OIL, IT NOW REGISTERED ALMOST FULL AND DROVE IT HOME (APPROX. 1 MILE). WHEN I GOT HOME I NOTICED THE ENGINE WAS KNOCKING. THE NEXT DAY I CHANGED THE OIL ADDING ONE QUART OF LUCAS OIL ADDITIVE. THE KNOCKING DID NOT GO AWAY AND I NOW NOTICED STEAM COMING OUT OF MY TAIL PIPE WHEN I WAS LETTING THE ENGINE WARM UP. I LEFT MY CAR PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR FEAR OF DOING FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. A FEW MONTHS LATER (WHEN I WAS IN A BETTER FINANCIAL POSITION), I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO KIA OF RIVERSIDE, WHERE THEY SAID THEY WOULD START A CASE WITH KIA MOTORS TO RUN TESTS TO DETERMINE IF THEY WOULD COVER THE FAILURE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED ON 6/23/20. ON 7/15/20, THE KIA DEALERSHIP TOLD ME KIA MOTORS WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR BECAUSE I WAS THE SECOND OWNER AND IT HAD 69K MILES. I BOUGHT IT WITH APPROX 33K MILES. THEY SAY I NEED A NEW MOTOR AT A COST OF OVER $6,600. FOR THE RECORD, I GIVE MY CAR REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND THERE ARE NO EXTERNAL SIGNS OF AN OIL LEAK ANYWHERE ON THE ENGINE. AT THIS TIME MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE NOT YET SEEN THE OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS.
WE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND THE ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING THEN LEAKING OIL
ENGINE LOCKED, COULDN'T START
ENGINE- 2017 KIA SOUL 2.0 L 4-CYL. MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE 42,788. MILEAGE AT FAILURE WAS 89,144. USAGE PREDOMINATELY HWY MILES. AT THE TIME OF FAILURE, WE OWNED THE VEHICLE 19 MONTHS. REGULAR OIL CHANGES WITH CASTROL GTX AND EDGE 100% SYNTHETIC 5W20 OIL. FEBRUARY 02, 2020 MY WIFE STARTED THE DAY DRIVING AWAY FROM HOME. THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IN THE 60'S AND SUNNY. DROVE 4.5 MILES TRAVELING 45MPH ON A STRAIGHT LEVEL CITY ROADWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. SHE COULD HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED OR WHEN TURNING OFF THE ROADWAY WITH LOSS OF POWER T-BONED TRYING TO EXIT THE ROADWAY IN AN EMERGENCY. THERE IS NO BREAKDOWN LANE OR ENOUGH GROUND ON THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY TO PULL OFF. ALL OF A SUDDEN, FOR NO REASON, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND MADE A KNOCKING SOUND. SHE CHECKED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, NO WARNING LIGHTS. TEMPERATURE GAUGE READ NORMAL. WITHIN SECONDS, SHE PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND TURNED OFF THE MOTOR. NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF ANY DAMAGE ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE MOTOR OR UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. WE ARE THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. MANUFACTURES INITIAL TRANSFERABLE WARRANTY EXPIRED. WE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO OUR REGULAR ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC. THEY DETERMINED THE ISSUE TO BE A ROD KNOCK. FURTHER DIAGNOSIS DETERMINED FROM A COMPRESSION TEST THE #2 CYLINDER IS AT 80#'S COMPRESSION THE OTHER THREE AT 150#'S. I HAVE READ YOUR REPORT REGARDING THE ONGOING INVESTIGATION INTO KIA'S MOTOR FAILURES. I BELIEVE THIS MOTOR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE INVESTIGATION ALTHOUGH BOTH VIN SEARCHES TURNED UP NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. WE ARE CURRENTLY TRYING TO GET THE LOCAL DEALER TO WORK ON THE VEHICLE AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE A MINIMUM FEE OF 1500-1600 TO TEAR THE MOTOR DOWN AND COMPLETE AN INVESTIGATION INTO WHY THE MOTOR FAILED. WE HAVE AN AFTERMARKET WARRANTY PROGRAM AND THEY ARE TRYING TO FIND A WAY NOT TO PAY FOR ANY CLAIM ON THIS ISSUE. OUR DILEMMA IS ONGOING AT THE TIME OF THIS COMPLAINT.
OIL LIGHT KEEPS FLICKERING WHEN AT IDLE OR LOW SPEEDS. I HEAR THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS FOR MANY YEARS OF KIA CARS.
WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE, AND GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED THE CAR JERKS FORWARD AND BACK AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. IT SHAKES THE WHOLE CAR.. DOES IT IF CAR IS COLD OR HOT BUT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE WHEN CAR IS NOT FULL HOT. UNSAFE WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC.
The paint is continuing to peel off and its getting worse. When I called Kia they said it is not covered. Apparently this is a manufacturing defect. I would really like this to be corrected if possible. T;hank you, Gail LeBrun
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THE AIR BAGS HAVE NOT GONE OFF IN A CRASH ON THIS CAR THE FIRST CRASH WAS AT 55 MPH HEAD ON AND THEY DIDNT GO OFF AND THE SENSORS WERE HIT AND DAMAGED. TODAY THE CAR WAS IN ANOTHER HEAD ON CRASH WITH INJURY TO THE DRIVER AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AGAIN THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN AS TO MY WIFE AND I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED DUE TO FAULTY AIR BAGS . IN BOTH CRASHES THE VECHILE WAS IN MOTION.I WILL BE TAKEN PICTURES OF THE CAR TOMORROW. SOMEONE COULD HAVE DIED IN THIS CRASH.
MY KIA SOUL WAS MANUFACTURED 11/16 & HAS 8,643 MILES ON IT AS 10/8/19. I STARTED MY CAR THE MORNING OF 10/719 & THE AIR BAG AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHTS WENT ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. THIS MORNING THE PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT LIGHT WAS FLASHING ALSO. ARE THERE ANY RECALLS ON THESE ITEMS FOR MY VEHICLE?

THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE TIRE COULD BLOW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN SLOWLY TO CAR PROS KIA (18835 BEACH BLVD, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92648, (714) 274-4632) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON; HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT WANT TO REPAIR THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE DOT NUMBER AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
TAKATA RECALL MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED, THE BRAKES NEVER TOOK EFFECT TO MAKE ME SLIDE SKID OR STOP. SEATBEAT NEVER HELD ME BACK FROM SLAMMING INTO STEERING WHEEL.
AT 75K MILES THE ENGINE FAILED ON MY 2017 KIA SOUL. SPECIFICALLY, IT THREW A ROD. THE CAR WAS SOLD TO ME AS A CERTIFIED USED CAR, THAT BEING THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I TOOK THE CAR INTO GOSSETT KIA IN MEMPHIS, WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I WAS CALLED LATER AND TOLD THE ENGINE WAS KNOCKING. THE SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME, "DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THIS. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2016 AMD 2017 KIA SOUL AND YOUR CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY." KIA TOLD ME THE CAR WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE I CHOSE TO DRIVE FOR A RIDE SHARE COMPANY AND THAT VOIDED THE WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM IS THEY SOLD ME A CAR AS CERTIFIED WHEN THEY KNEW ABOUT THE ENGINE FAILURE ISSUE.
PURCHASED THIS CAR USED WITH 16K MILES IN SEPT 2018. STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL. ENGINE REMAINED AT AN IDLE EVEN AFTER FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES. ALMOST GOT HIT!! I RECYCLED THE KEY SEVERAL TIMES AND FINALLY IT WORKED. I TOOK TO THE DEALER AND GOT THE " NO PROBLEM FOUND " NOW I EXPERIENCE A ROUGH IDLE AND A STRANGE FEELING IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN BRAKING. TODAY I STARTED THE CAR AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT GO OVER 3000 RPMS. CYCLED THE KEY AND IT WAS OK. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR FOR FEAR IT MAY KILL ME! PLEASE HELP.
STEERING WHEEL KEEPS LOCKING WHILE DRIVING
WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION BACKING IN MY DRIVEWAY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL DRIVERS HANDLE WHILE LOCK ENGAGED AND DOOR OPENED WHILE VEHICLE WAS STILL MOVING. ALTHOUGH I PLANNED ON OPENING THE DOOR AS CAR CAME TO A REST I WAS SURPRISED HOW EASY IT WAS TO OPEN WHILE CAR IS MOVING, AND DOOR HAD DONE SO PREMATURELY THEN I EXPECTED. CONCERNED I TESTED WHILE DRIVING FORWARD LIKE 20 MPH & DOOR OPENS WHEN GRABBING ON HANDLE. MY CONCERN IS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ONE SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO MANUALLY UNLOCK ANY DOOR BEFORE IT OPENS. I ADDRESSED WITH MY KIA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THIS IS NORMAL THAT OPENING HANDLE OVERIDES THE LOCK. THIS WOULD MAKE SENSE TO DO WHEN CAR IS PARKED, NOT WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGED. I HAVE 2004 SATURN AND MINE DOESNT DO THAT. I UNDERSTAND DOOR/LOCK FEATURES CAN VARY FROM MANUFACTURER TO MANUFACTURER. I CAN SEE A BENEFIT TO THE HANDLE OVERIDE FEATURE THAT PEOPLE COULD BE IN PANIC IN CASE OF FIRE OR OTHER DANGER THAT ALL THEY THINK ABOUT IS THE HANDLE AND STAY TRAPPED BECAUSE THEY FORGET ABOUT THE LOCK. THE CONSUMER SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DECIDE IF THIS IS A FEATURE THEY WANT ENABLED OR NOT. KIA HAS TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO. I FEEL THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN SINCE ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS BARELY GRAB HANDLE AND DOOR RELEASES; DONT NEED TO PULL HANDLE ALL THE WAY. IF NOTHING ELSE IT SHOULD RELEASE AFTER 5-10 SECONDS OF CONTINUOUS PRESSURE WHILE HANDLE IS IN MAXED OUT OPENING POSITION TO OPEN DOOR WHILE TRANSMISSION IS IN ANY GEAR OTHER THAN PARK. AND IF NOTHING ELSE, ONLY THE DRIVERS DOOR SHOULD BE ABLE TO OPEN WHILE CARS IN MOTION WHILE PULLING ON HANDLE. FRONT PASSENGER DOOR TESTED AND DOES SAME THING. KIA SAYS ONLY THE REAR DOORS SHOULD STAY SECURE WITH CHILD LOCKS, I DISAGREE! HAD ANOTHER TIME WHEN I WAS GONNA BE DROPPED OFF AS A PASSENGER AND PLANNED ON OPENENING DOOR, IT FLEW WIDE-OPEN WHEN TURNING IN DRIVEWAY AND ALMOST DAMAGED 2 CARS!

I WAS IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WEARING MY SEAT BELT AND HIT MY HEAD ON THE SUN VISOR AND EDGE OF WINDSHIELD. BASICALLY SCALPING ME. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED YES BUT AFTER I WAS BLEEDING AND REACHING TO UNDO MY SEATBELT. HITTING MY HAND WHICH BROKE MY WRIST HAVING TO HAVE SURGERY TO PUT A PLATE AND PINS IN IT. ALSO HITTING ME IN THE CHEST SO HARD IT KNOCKE THE BREATH OUT OF ME. IT WAS SMOKING REALLY BAD TOO LIKE IT WAS GOING TO CATCH FIRE.

I BEGAN TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY ENGINE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018, MY CAR WOULD JUST TURN OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREETS. NOTE THAT WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN I ONLY HAD 29,800 MILES ON IT. I TOOK IT INTO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED MY ENGINE IN WHICH I DID NOT GET MY VEHICLE BACK UNTIL JANUARY 2019. EVERY TIME I WOULD GET MY VEHICLE BACK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD BE ON, AND THE CAR WOULD DRIVE TERRIBLY. IN THE COURSE OF 4-5 MONTHS I HAD A BAD VEHICLE RETURNED TO ME 3 TIMES. I'VE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR A WEEK AND I STILL DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT AND WHEN I REACH THE SPEED LIMIT OF 40 MPH IT BEGINS TO SHAKE. LASTLY, WHEN I PRESS ON THE BREAKS I COULD FEEL THAT MY FOOT BEGINS TO TREMOR/SHAKE AS IF I'M IN A GO-KART I STILL DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS. I HAVE ATTACHED TWO PHOTOS. ONE OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THE DAY THE DEALERSHIP RETURNED MY VEHICLE, AND TWO OF THE NEW ENGINE.

When I bought my car in 2018, I didn’t like the way it drives. I had to take it back the next day to return it, but the dealer in North Aurora Gerald Kia said they wouldn’t take it back & I paid cash. I’ve been taking it back and forth from Gerald North Aurora to Bob Rohrman in Schaumburg Il. They have been been telling me every time, there’s nothing wrong. I’m hearing several noises in the Suspenion. So finally I told Bob Rohrman dealer to check everything before my warranty runs out. So far nothing didn’t happen until after my warranty. So I paid for 4 tires, front brakes, rotors. They finally said that I needed an Arm Control & a Strut, with low mileage, but Im steady hearing noises. I know know what to do. After I paid cash & had start going to find out what’s wrong with my car, the service dept was never friendly or professional. I always was told there’s nothing wrong with my car and that I know better. I’ve been driving since 17 yrs old and I’m 68.
REAR CAMERA STAYS ON WHEN DRIVING FORWARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 5 TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR, WHILE 7000 MILES WERE DRIVEN. I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, GO IN TO PARK, THEN DRIVE, SOMETIMES MORE THAN ONCE, FOR THE CAMERA TO SWITCH OFF, REGULAR DISPLAY TO LIGHT UP.
MY ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A RAILROAD CROSSING, ON AN INCLINE. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN IT HAPPENED. ONCE THE TRAIN PASSED, I LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT A WARNING OR INDICATION. THE CAR PROCEEDED TO ROLL BACKWARDS INTO TRAFFIC. I TURNED ON MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT TOOK A MINUTE OR SO BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR. THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED 3 DAYS LATER - I WAS JUST ABOUT TO MAKE MY TURN OUT OF A PARKING LOT INTO A MAJOR STREET. I MADE A STOP TO MAKE SURE THE ROAD WAS CLEAR. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND HIT THE ACCELERATOR AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I HAD TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK TO RESTART THE ENGINE AGAIN.
WE DROVE THE CAR FOR 5900 MILES WHEN WE NOTICED A BUBBLE ON THE SIDE WALL FOR ONE OF THE TIRES. THE TIRES ARE KUMHO SOLUS TA31. WE CONTACTED THE USA REP AND WERE DIRECTED TO A SEARS AUTOCENTER FOR AN INSPECTION. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE SEARS CENTRE WILL OPEN THE CLAIM FOR US. TE SERAS CENTER DID NOT OPENED THE CLAIM AND ISSUED A REPORT WITHOUT ANY DETAILS ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE TIRE. WE MADE A SECOND CALL TO THE KUMHO REP AND GOT THE RUN AROUND ABOUT GOING TO THE CENTER WITHOUT A CLAIM OPENED. THEY OPENED FINALLY A CLAIM AND THEY SUGGESTED TO GO TO A KIA DEALERSHIP. WE VOICED OUR CONCERN ABOUT LOSING TIME AND WORK HOURS, NOT TALKING ABOUT USING A CAR THAT MAY BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WE ARE CONCERNED THAT ANOTHER TIRE MAY EXHIBIT THE SAME ISSUE IF THEY ARE FROM THE SAME SERIES?! WE ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE WAY THAT KUMHO HONORED THE WARRANTY THEY ISSUED FOR THESE TIRES. IT WILL BE MUCH FASTER TO PAY 120$ AND PURCHASE A NEW TIRE, HOWEVER WE ARE CONCERNS ABOUT THE TYPE OF WARRANTY THAT IS OFFERED BY KUMHO
THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION FAILS TO SEE MOST BUSES, RVS, AND LARGE TRUCKS WITH TRAILERS. IT SEEMS THAT ABOUT 90% OF THESE VEHICLE TYPES IT DOES NOT SEE. CARS ARE NOT A PROBLEM. WE NOTICED THAT HIS WAS THE CASE NEARLY EVERY TIME WE PASSED A SEMI OR BUS. I COULD BE GOING 40 TO 75 MPH. SPEED DID NOT SEEM TO MATER. I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID YES IT DOES THIS ON THIS MODEL. WHY PAY FOR BLIND SPOT DETECTION WHEN IT CANNOT SEE A TRUCK?
ON FRIDAY, APRIL 20, 2018, ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, TRAFFIC BEGAN TO SLOW AND AS I APPLIED MY BRAKES, THEY FELT AS THOUGH THEY TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR, AND EVEN THOUGH I HAD PLENTY OF SPACE TO STOP, I WAS UNABLE TO AND WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED BY A NON-KIA DEALER VIA MY INSURANCE. WITHIN TWO DAYS OF ME HAVING THE VEHICLE BACK IN MY POSSESSION, IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THIS TIME WHILE COMING TO A SLOW GRADUAL STOP AT A LIGHT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, PRICE KIA, TO REPORT THE CONCERN. AFTER MULTIPLE TEST DRIVES, THEY FELT THE BRAKES TRAVELING TOO FAR AND REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, WITH THE CLAIM THAT THIS COULD BE THE "ONLY POSSIBLE CAUSE." OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS, THE CAR HAS BEEN BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE; IT HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE MASTER CYLINDER. PRICE KIA NOW CLAIMS THE ISSUE ISN'T RELOCATABLE AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. SHOULD FURTHER DOCUMENTATION BE NEEDED THE WORK ORDERS, ACCIDENT REPORT, AND OTHER DOCUMENTATION CAN BE PROVIDED.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE, THE BRAKE'S WILL RELEASE AND THEN GRAB ONTO THE ROTORS AGAIN. ALSO HAVE A SOFT PETAL AND HISSING WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED STATES THAT NOTHING IS WRONG; HOWEVER, I AM EXPERIENCING GRINDING, MY CAR SHAKING AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP, OR RANDOMLY FAILURE TO STOP, RESULTING IN HAVING TO GO OFF THE ROAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. JENKINS KIA OF GAINESVILLE (2810 N MAIN ST, GAINESVILLE, FL 32609, (352) 815-2555) WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED THE PHONE NUMBER FOR THE MANUFACTURER. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND STATED THAT TTHEY WOULD REVIEW THE CASE. THE MANUFACTURER REQUESTED PHOTOS AND A COPY OF THE POLICE REPORT FROM THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT SUBMITTED THE REQUESTED INFORMATION AND THE MANUFACTURER ACKNOWLEDGED RECEIPT OF THE INFORMATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
