TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER GETTING AN OIL CHANGE AND DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL METALLIC SCRAPING SOUND COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PULL OVER WHEN THE CHECK OIL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE SHUT-OFF AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT RELATED TO THE RECENT OIL CHANGE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO KIA OF BOWIE (16620 GOVERNOR BRIDGE RD, BOWIE, MD 20716, (301) 820-7500) WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MECHANIC REFERENCED A RECALL FOR 2014/2015 MODEL YEARS HOWEVER, THE 2018 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES WERE NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE CONTACT'S MODEL YEAR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MILEAGE 68000 - TICKING NOISE BEGAN APPROXIMATELY 5 DAYS BEFORE THE ENGINE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN PARKED FOR TWO DAYS (FOR THE HOLIDAY). TWO DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO MECHANIC AND RAN CODE AND PERFORMED AN OIL CHANGE. NOISE CHANGED IMMEDIATELY TO KNOCKING AND SQUEAKING AND CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING HOME. TOWED VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE RODS EITHER BROKE, BLEW, OR WERE GOING TO, AND A NEW MOTOR WAS NECESSARY. MY VEHICLE HAS THE 2.0L MOTOR THAT IS SUBJECT TO MANY OTHER RECALLS AND ISSUES BUT YET NOT ON THE RADAR OF THE AUTHORITIES. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR LESS THAN 10 MONTHS AND APPROXIMATELY 20,000 HIGHWAY MILES, AND JUST OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD.
2018 KIA SOUL #3 PISTON AND CONNECTING ROD SHATTERED WITHIN 1.5 BLOCKS OF INITIAL KNOCKING DETECTION WHEN TRYING TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT OFF OF THE STREET.. THE MOTOR SEIZED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STOP AND ALMOST BEING REAR ENDED BY OTHER DRIVERS.
2 INSTANCES HAVE OCCURRED. 1. IN REVERSE, THE CAR MOVED FORWARD AND NEARLY HIT A WALL. 2. IN REVERSE, THE CAR MOVED FORWARD AND NEARLY HIT ANOTHER CAR. THEN PUT IN NEUTRAL TO PUSH BACK. BUT CAR MOVED FORWARD IN NEUTRAL AS WELL. LET THE CAR SIT FOR A HALF HOUR. AND IT SHIFTED INTO REVERSE CORRECTLY AGAIN.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2018 KIA SOUL ON MADISON HWY IN VALDOSTA,GA.L SAW SMOKE COMING OUT MY HOOD SO I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A CONVENIENT STORE ! THE PEOPLE IN THE STORE CAME RUNNING OUT WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AND WE WERE ABLE TO PUT OUT THE FIRE.
CAR CONSISTENTLY WON'T START AS IF THE BATTERY IS DEAD. WILL START ONCE BATTERY IS JUMPED. BATTERY, STARTER, AND ALTERNATOR TESTS COME BACK FINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT STEAM CAME OUT THE VENTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE AND FOGGED UP THE WINDOWS. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD AN ABNORMAL GURGLING SOUND COMING FROM BEHIND THE DASHBOARD AFTER THE DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VISION KIA OF EAST ROCHESTER (201 E LINDEN AVE, EAST ROCHESTER, NY 14445, (585) 249-9000) WHERE THE AIR CONDITION DRAIN TUBES WERE CLEARED. THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED FOR A WHILE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,638.
AT 2AM ON SATURDAY AUGUST 22ND MY HUSBAND'S 2018 KIA SOUL, WHICH WAS STATIONARY IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND NOT IN OPERATION AT THE TIME, WAS SET ABLAZE FOR UNKNOWN REASONS. WE WERE ASLEEP AND WERE WOKEN UP BY THE SOUND OF, WHAT WAS POSSIBLY, THE TIRES EXPLODING, THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY ON FIRE BY THE TIME WE WERE ABLE TO WAKE UP AND EVACUATE THE PROPERTY. WE HAVE A DOORBELL CAMERA THAT WOULD HAVE PICKED UP A PERSON IN OUR DRIVEWAY SO WE DO NOT BELIEVE THE CAUSE WAS ARSON. ONLINE RESEARCH AFTER THE INCIDENT INDICATES THAT THIS COULD BE RELATED THE THE RECENT RECALLS OF KIAS AND HYUNDAIS, WHICH OUR MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED AS FAR AS WE KNOW.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO WORK, VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WOULD NOT TURN ON. AT FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY BUT THE TOW TRUCK CHARGED THE BATTERY AND WHEN STARTED THE RODS WERE KNOCKING. WE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, REGAL KIA AND THEY DIAGNOSED MY CAR FOR NEEDING A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. IF WE WERE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ANY FURTHER THE ENGINE WOULD BLOW. OIL CHANGE WAS JUST A MONTH BEFORE AT THE REGAL KIA DEALERSHIP SO IT WASN'T DUE TO LOW OIL. THE 2018 KIA SOUL HAD 61,000 MILES AT IT AND ENGINE WAS RUINED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 KIA SOUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS PRESENT WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (KIA OF MUNCIE 6732 W HOMETOWN BLVD, MUNCIE, IN 47304) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THAT THE ENGINE ROID FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
I HAVE A 2018 KIA SOUL+ AND RECENTLY THERE IS A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE CAR ESPECIALLY WHEN THE A/C IS ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER REGARDING THE PROBLEM, BUT WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG OR SMELL ANYTHING BURNING ON THE CAR. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS MOSTLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I'M AFRAID THAT THE CAR IS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE. THE CAR ALSO LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING EX. I CAN BE DRIVING 60 MILES AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STARTS TO DECREASE IN SPEED AND YOU HAVE TO RAVE UP THE CAR TO GET IT GOING AGAIN. NOT GOOD AT ALL.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON JULY 11 2020. THE OTHER DRIVER RAN A RED LIGHT AND I T-BONED HIM. MY CAR SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END AND WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. IN THIS ACCIDENT NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
The contact owned a 2018 Kia Soul. The contact stated that while driving 35-40 MPH in an intersection, another vehicle ran the red light, causing his vehicle to crash into the passenger side of the other vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to exit the vehicle on his own. The contact sought medical assistance the next day and was diagnosed with a ruptured disk on his neck and lower back. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and advised the contact that the air bags acted as intended and did not have to deploy. The contact became aware of the recall for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V031000 (AIR BAGS). The contact followed with the manufacturer who informed him they could not assist as his VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
During a front end accident the car burst into flames and the driver was trapped and passed away at the scene.
DASHBOARD IS BECOMING STICKY AND GLOSSY CAUSING A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD
ON 7/8/20, MY CAR MADE A VERY LOUD NOISE AND SHUT OFF ON ME. NO SENSORS, NO LIGHTS CAME ON. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE KIA IN WHICH I PURCHASED IT FROM, AND THEY TOLD ME MY ENGINE BLEW. MY WARRANTY WAS SUPPOSE TO COVER THE REPAIRS BUT THEY ARE REFUSING TO COVER THE REPAIR.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND EVERY TIME I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE I WAS TOLD I USED BAD GAS AND TO CHANGE THE GAS. I WAS EVEN TOLD THE COMPUTER ON MY CAR NEEDED TO BE UPDATED AND UNTIL THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND MAY NOT GO OUT. MY CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND WOULDN'T MOVE.
AROUND 11:40PM ON 12/3/2019 I PARKED MY CAR IN AN EMPTY PARKING LOT - CAR WAS STATIONARY. IT WAS 51 DEGREES OUT AND CLOUDY, BUT NO RAIN OR ANY PRECIPITATION. THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING; THE HEAT/AC WERE NOT ON. NO ONE WAS AROUND. SUDDENLY, THE WINDSHIELD IN THE BACK (LARGE HATCH DOOR WINDOW) SHATTERED ENTIRELY. IT SOUNDED LIKE A SHOT. NOTHING FELL ON THE CAR, NO PEOPLE OR ANIMALS WERE AROUND. THE WHOLE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED AND CRUMBLING ALONG THE EDGES. NO ROCKS, BBS, PELLETS, BRANCHES, BALLS, OR OTHER OBJECTS ANYWHERE. NO OTHER DAMAGE MADE AT THAT MOMENT TO THE CAR AT ALL. THE PANE STAYED TOGETHER UNTIL I OPENED/CLOSED MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THEN IT STARTED TO FALL APART. NO EVIDENCE OF FOUL PLAY. ONLY 12,600 MILES ON THE CAR. CHECKED WITH THE POLICE, BUT NO SIMILAR INCIDENTS HAD BEEN REPORTED. OCCURRED IN KIRKLAND, WA. NO PREVIOUS ACCIDENTS AS FAR AS I KNOW. EXCEPT A FEW WEEKS PRIOR, ON THE HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR, A LON CRACK APPEARED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD, STARTING FROM THE TOP EDGE ABOUT 9" LONG. NO EVIDENCE OF ROCK, DEBRIS, OR IMPACT.
CITY STREET. WAS TEST DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WHEN IT CAUGHT FIRE AT THE LOWER BACK END OF THE ENGINE.
WHEN MY WIFE WAS STOPPED IN A SCHOOL PARKING LOT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PREPARING TO BACK INTO A PARKING SPACE THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. I RAN INTO A PARKED CAR AND THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET IT TO STOP WAS TO TURN THE CAR OFF. ME, OUR DAUGHTER AND SON ALL HAVE HAD A SURGING ISSUE BUT WAS ALWAYS A MINOR ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE AND KIA NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.
I RENTED THIS '18 KIA SOUL FROM HERTZ. ON 10/17 AT 9 PM I WAS INVOLVED IN A SOLO VERY HARD FRONT END COLLISION WITH A LARGE BOULDER ON A CALIFORNIA MOUNTAIN HWY. THE FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE SIDE ONES DID FOR NO APPARENT REASON. BECAUSE I WASN'T WEARING A SEAT BELT I ENDED UP HAVING SERIOUS HEAD TRAUMA AS WELL AS OTHER BRUISES. AT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE IS IN THE POSSESSION OF HERTZ RENT-A-CAR.
1ST OCCURRENCE - DRIVER ENTERED VEHICLE AND DROVE THE VEHICLE FORWARD DOWN A GRADED DRIVEWAY. AS VEHICLE CAME TO THE ROADWAY, DRIVER APPLIED BRAKES. BRAKES WERE PRESSED TO FLOOR WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THE BRAKE. AFTER THE VEHICLE ROLLED TO A STOP IN THE ROADWAY, DRIVER PUT THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE, AND PRESSED ON GAS - VEHICLE MOVED FORWARD - NOT BACKWARDS AS EXPECTED. DRIVER THEN TURNED VEHICLE OFF, AND RE-STARTED VEHICLE. VEHICLE THEN PERFORMED NORMALLY AFTER. SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2019 2ND OCCURRENCE - AFTER DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MINUTES, DRIVER CAME TO A STOP SIGN, CLEARED INTERSECTION, AND ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BY PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR...NO RESPONSE...NO CHANGE IN IDLE OF ENGINE. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, IN THE ROADWAY, AND TURNED BACK ON. THE CAR THEN DROVE NORMALLY. SEPTEMBER 28, 2019 2 SEPARATE DRIVERS, BOTH OF WHICH ARE FREQUENT DRIVERS OF THE VEHICLE, REPORTED THE ABOVE ISSUES. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT DEALER FOR ANALYSIS. THEY HAVE CALLED AND STATED THEY CAN FIND NO ISSUES - THEY WILL CONTINUE TO TEST IT. TRANSMISSION (ACCELERATION/CHANGING DIRECTION) AND BRAKING ARE TWO SIGNIFICANT CONCERNS.
I GOT TOLD BY A KIA MECANIC WELL AT LEAST SEEN IT ON MY DASH CAM THAT I AM SOL THAT MY TICKING PROBLEM IS AN ENGINE DEFECT ON KIA'S PART THAT IS CAUSING ENGINE ISSUES AS WELL AS SOMEHOW MAKING MY ENGINEREV EXTREMELY HIGH WHILE STARTING UP AND SOMETIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY TO THE POINT IF I DON'T HAVE MY BRAKES ON I WILL GO THROUGH A WALL . THAT'S A MENTION SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE AIR CONDITION UNIT/HEATER THAT THE HEATER WILL BLOW EXTREMELY HOT SO HOT THAT THE VENTS BECOME PLIABLE AND THE AIR CONDITIONER AND WON'T COME ON UNLESS I START MESSING WITH BUTTONS OFF AND ON OFTEN ON HIGH AND LOW HIGH AND LOW.I HAVE BEEN IN TO KIA MOTORS FIVE TIMES FOR THE ISSUE

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BULBS WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES WITHIN THE SAME MONTH. GREENWAY KIA OF HICKORY HOLLOW (5406 TARGET DR, ANTIOCH, TN 37013 (615) 731-0099) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE COVERED DUE TO THE MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
MY 2018 SOUL HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND FROM EARLY ON AFTER I BOUGHT IT "NEW" LAST YEAR "08/30/2018" THE TRANSMISSION STARTED ACTING UP FOR NO APPARENT REASON. WHAT IT DOES COMES OUT OF NOWHERE IT WILL NOT SPEED UP WHEN YOU GIVE IT THE GAS. IT HESITATES FOR JUST A BRIEF SECOND THEN IT MOVES SLOWER THAN NORMAL. THIS HAPPENS FROM A DEAD STOP AND WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC TOO. IT WILL GO ALONG DRIVING PERFECTLY FOR A WHILE THEN WITHOUT ANY REASON IT WILL ACT SLUGGISH AND OR STUMBLES. IT CAN HAPPEN WHEN IT IS COLD OR WELL WARMED UP AND IN ALL TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. THE END RESULT IS IT MAKES THE CAR DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE PERSON DRIVING DOES NOT EXPECT IT TO FALTER AT VERY INORDINATE TIMES. ONE TENDS TO FORGET ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THEN BOOM YOUR HEART SKIPS A BEAT BECAUSE YOU JUST DROVE YOURSELF INTO A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TRAFFIC SITUATION. MY CAR NOW HAS 5,600 MILES AND THE DEALER IS JUST GIVING ME THE RUNAROUND REGARDING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE CHECKED ON THE INTERNET "KIA FORUMS" AND I AM FAR FROM THE ONLY OWNER TO HAVE THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. IT IS LIKE HAVING UNRELIABLE BRAKES. THE DRIVABILITY IS UNPREDICTABLE!
WHEN YOU TURN OFF THE CAR THE KEY WON'T COME OUT IF IT'S RAINING YOU GET WET AND SOMETIMES THE CAR WON'T START AND THE REMOTE DON'T WORK. YOU SMELL GAS WHILE YOU DRIVING.
TIRE SEPARATION DRIVERS SIDE REAR. JUNE1ST. VEHICLE GOING APPROXIMATELY 70MPH ON FREEWAY TEMPERATURE WAS 90 F AND ABOUT 60% HUMIDITY CAR HAD NO SPARE PROVIDED WITH CAR. NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED.
FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON A CITY STREET, THANKSGIVING NIGHT 2018. MADE LEFT TURN AT LIGHT, LOST CONTROL OF STEERING WHEEL, RAN UP ONTO SIDEWALK AND BACK INTO THE STREET. SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED THE NIGHT BEFORE MOTHER'S DAY 2019, MADE RIGHT TURN AT LIGHT AND LOST CONTROL OF STEERING AGAIN
I WAS SITTING AT A JACKS DRIVE THROUGH WHEN MY CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS ON. MY CAR WAS STOPPED WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. IT PLOWED INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BUT THE REESE HITCH ON HIS TRUCK WENT THROUGH MY BUMPER. THERE WAS NO INJURY.
THE STEERING WHEEL IS MANUFACTURED OF MATERIAL WHICH CONTAINS A TOXIC SUBSTANCE WHICH HAS CAUSED THE OWNER TO SUFFER A MEDICAL CONDITION OF SEVERE CONTACT DERMATITS. THE CAR CAN'T BE DRIVEN WITHOUT THE USE OF A COVER OVER THE STEERING WHEEL, WHICH WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO FAIL THE MARYLAND STATE SAFETY INSPECTION.

THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM CLICK KIA (866-376-4307, LOCATED AT 775 W WETMORE RD, TUCSON, AZ 85705), BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE CONSUMER SUPPORT ACCELERATION TEAM. THE CONTACT CALLED KIA MOTORS AMERICA AT 949-468-4800 (LOCATED AT 111 PETERS CANYON RD, IRVINE, CA 92606) AND WAS PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 13283232. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,000.
TWO INCIDENCES OF DECELERATION..ONE CAUSED ME TO EXIT FREEWAY ONTO THE FRONTAGE ROAD.. ONE INSPECTION AT DEALERSHIP AFTER 2ND INCIDENT STATED "NOTHING FOUND"...HAD I BEEN SURROUNDED BY VEHICLES FRONT AND REAR, I AND OTHERS COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT...I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE FRONTAGE ROAD ONTO A SHOULDER. THE 2ND INCIDENT WAS NEAR MY RESIDENCE AND FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ONE ON THE STREET AT TIME....WHILE THE DEALER TECHNICIANS MAY NOT HAVE THESE EVENTS OCCUR AT THE TIME OF SERVICE, THESE INCIDENCES I BELIEVE ARE SPONTANEOUS AND THEREFORE DANGEROUS TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF MY AND OTHER VEHICLES. THESE INCIDENCES KEEP ME IN FEAR OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE ASKED THE LOCAL DEALER FOR A TRADE TO ANOTHER BRAND BUT ONLY RESPONSE SOMETIME APRIL 2019... WE WILL WORK ON IT. I STARTED BY EMAILING SALESMEN AND MANAGERS OF DEALERSHIP AND FINALLY CALLED WHICH FINALLY PRODUCED A RESPONSE TO ATTEMPT TO FIND A DIFFERENT BRAND VEHICLE...THIS IS A NEW LOAN OF MARCH 2018.,THIS VEHICLE SUPPOSEDLY WAS BUILT IN SEPT. 2017.....FIRE HAZARD IS MENTIONED WITH ONE DEATH OF WOMAN IN TEXAS DUE TO ONE OF THESE TWO CAUSES.MY VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER KIA SOUL.
I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT ON A CROSS STREET INTERSECTION AT A STOP SIGN I LOOKED BOTH WAYS NO VEHICLE ON SITE UNTIL I STARTED TO CROSS OVER WHEN A DRIVER SPEAD DOWN THE ROAD AND HIT ME THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE SOUL IS GONE THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS. NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYED (NOT EVEN ONE DEPLOYED). I SUSTAINED CHEST INJURY AND BREAST INJURY I WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL AND CHECKED FOR CHEST PAINS XRAYS REVEALED INTERNAL BRUISES. MY CHEST BREAST AND PART OF MY STOMACH ARE BLACK AND BLUE
a.e.b. ,autonomous braking system has been a defect since the day it was delivered in 2018. the company and the dealership have attempted to fix this problem 13 times in five years, and it keeps coming back. they kept throwing parts at it until the warranty expired on 12/31/2023 and they refuse to fix it again. they will not extend the warranty or buy it back as requested. the factory tech that the company sent to look at it stated he did not know what was wrong with it back in 2019 but he will start with the forward camera. fast forward to 2/2024 and i paid to have it looked at the dealer and the tech stated on the work order that he did not know what was wrong with it and he would start with the forward camera, same problem five years later. the car is like new with only 37,000 miles on it. not only is it a defect but kia has been commenting fraud by hiding the defect. now i have a car that cannot be fixed and i cannot sell. i have all of the work orders and Communcation with kia. your help in this issue will be appreciated

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
USUALLY AFTER A RAINY NIGHT OR WHEN THERE IS DEW IN THE MORNING, WITH THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND STATIONARY AT MY HOME, THE HEAD LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN ON AND THE WINDSHIELD/BACK GLASS WIPERS WILL NOT WORK. AFTER TURNING THE WIPERS ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES THEY MAY COME ON FOR A MOMENT AND THEN WILL NOT OPERATE AGAIN. DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE ISSUE TWICE SO FAR. HAS LESS THAN 6000 MILES ON IT. IT IS NOW DARK WHEN I AM LEAVING FOR WORK AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I CAN NOT DRIVE IT WITH OUT HEAD LIGHTS. IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL TO DRIVE WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS/WIPERS IN THE RAIN WHERE I LIVE.
THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT, WITH NO ONE AROUND IT, WHEN THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE AND DESTROYED THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. FIRE INSPECTOR STATED CAUSE OF THE FIRE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED.

THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED THAT THE CONTACT VISIT THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

REAR RIGHT TIRE BLEW UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 60MPH WITH NO WARNING (NO LOW PRESSURE SIGN), NO EXTERNAL FACTORS (DID NOT RUN OVER ANYTHING). CAUSED THE CAR TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL, BUT DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. VEHICLE HAS NEXEN TIRES.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE PERFORMED AS DESIGNED. THE TECHNICIAN CLEANED THE TURBO, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND FOUND NO FAILURES. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 16,000.
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. THE CAR STALLED AND DIDN'T KNOW IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. ALSO SEVERAL TIMES I START THE VEHICLE AND IT STALL OUT IMMEDIATELY. DEALER COULDN'T FIND NOTHING WRONG. STOPPED AND IN DRIVE OR PARKED.

FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE HAS A SIGNIFICANT HESITATION PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN/REDLIGHT ETC. AS YOU PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL DOWN, IT HESITATES THEN ACCELERATES HARD. HAS 340 MILES ON IT AT THIS TIME. DEALER AND KIA STATE THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE NEW TRANSMISSION/TURBO DESIGN. EVEN THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS SHOCKED WHEN HE DROVE IT SAYING HE WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT. I WOULD THINK THIS PROBLEM COULD BE RESOLVED WITH A PROGRAMMING UPDATE. MY CONCERN FOR SAFETY IS TO PART: 1ST, ANTICIPATING THE VEHICLE MAY GO WHEN IN FACT IT HESITATED TO PULL OFF CREATES AN ANTICIPATION EVENT. 2ND, THE HARD ACCELERATION WHEN IT ENGAGES COULD RESULT IN REAR-ENDING SOMEONE. ON JUNE 22 2018 I WAS TOWING MY KIA BEHIND MY RV ON I-10 NEAR MONTICELLO FL. IT BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES. IT WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED .THE FHP ARRIVED SHORTLY THEREAFTER AS DID THE LOCATION FIRE DEPARTMENT. UNFORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS HURT HOWEVER RV SUSTAINED $20K DAMAGE. THERE A FHP REPORT ON FILE (FHP01LRO23143). I REPORTED THIS TO KIA IN LAKE CITY, FL.THERE RESPONSE WAS YES THERE HAD BEEN REPORTS BUT NUMBER WAS WASN'T TOO BAD. CALLED THEM SEVERAL TIMES BUT ACTION. I HAVE PHOTOS AND THE FHP REPORT IF NEEDED. NO FUTURE SAFETY RECALL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED, VEHICLE.IA IN THE BONEYARD.

WE WERE HIT IN REAR BY A TRUCK. MY WIFE AND I WENT FORWARD TO ALMOST THE DASH AND STEERING WHEEL, THE BELTS NEVER CAUGHT. I CALLED KIA TALKED TO OFFICE IN CALIFORNIA HE SAID THEY SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT. TOOK TO KIA DEALER HAS ADVISED AND THEY SAID IT WORKED FINE. THEY ADJUSTED BECAUSE NOW YOU PULL A LITTLE WAYS THEY LOCK. THE SERVER WRITER SAID THE TECH TOLD HIM THEY WOULD NOT LOCK FOR BEING HIT IN REAR. TALKED TO CALIFORNIA AGAIN THE SAME PERSON AND HE SAID THEY WOULD NOT LOCK BECAUSE WE WENT BACK FIRST AND THEN FORWARD. WE WAS STOPPED AT A YIELD SIGN FOR TRAFFIC ON A HIGHWAY WAITING TO GO TO ANOTHER HIGHWAY WHEN WE WERE HIT.
My vehicle recall is to do with electrical issue that not only may have affected the air bag, but the electrical system shorting that’s burning the bulb holders that holds all of the brake and tail lights bulbs on this vehicle. These brand new bulbs consistently burn or short out within 1 to 2 weeks. This expense has grown expeditiously over the years of ownership, and because there is nothing in the information center to warn us, we are constantly due to no fault of our own, unknowingly driving with no brake light. Having to drive regularly on interstate 4, with traffic stopping warning, this is a great safety concern. Brake light are very very essential driving in sudden stopping traffic. Kia should be liable and responsible for correcting this traffic hazard. Thank you notes.
