BRAKE PADS NEEDED REPLACEMENT (TOLD BY DEALER) AND WHEN THEY TRIED TO REPLACE THEM THEY FOUND OUT THE ROTORS NEEDED REPLACEMENT ALSO. I ONLY HAVE 18000 MILES ON THE CAR!! THE PADS SHOULDN'T EVEN NEED REPLACEMENT, MUCH LESS THE ROTORS TOO!*AK
SEAT BELT CATCH DEVICE RELEASES THE CLIP AND SEAT BELT FROM HOLDER APPROXIMATELY 75% OF THE TIME I PUT ON MY SEAT BELT. I HAVE NOT REPLACED AS THE ITEM WAS NOT DEEMED NECESSARY BY DEALER THAT WANTED $375.00 FOR REPLACEMENT. *JB
BRAKE FLUID HAS BEEN CONTINUALLY LEAKING OUT, RIGHT NOW BRAKING DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE AFFECTED, BUT HAVE TO FILL UP RESERVOIR AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. NLM
VEHICLE FAILED SAFTEY INSPECTION DUE TO LOOSE RIGHT FRONT BEARING, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR SERVICE AND BOTH FRONT WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLIES WERE REPLACED, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT HUBS WERE CORRODED DUE TO FAULTY INNER SEALS.*JB
ENGINE STALLS IN TRAFFIC AND LOSES POWER.TOOK TO DEALER, HEY CLEANED ENGINE, AND PROBLEM REOCCURRED.*AK CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED AFTER 2 MONTHS OF OWNING VEHICLE, 2 OXYGEN SENSORS SENSORS WERE REPLACED, THE THERMOSTAT WAS REPLACED, DEFROSTER WAS DEFECTIVE, THE EXHAUST SYSTEMS WAS REPLACED, AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLEW OFF.*JB
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE STALLED AND CONSUMER HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, DEALER STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE, HOWEVER, IT CONTINUES TO HESITATE EVERY TIME WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND DEALER CAN NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *SLC
CONSUMER HAD VEHICLE PARKED IN GEAR WITH PARKING BRAKE NOT ON, AND VEHICLE ROLLED BACK. VEHICLE WAS NOT RUNNING. HAS NOT CONTACTED DEALER. *AK *SLC
LEFT REAR SEAT RETAINER HOOK PULLED OUT OF INSIDE WALL AND SEAT FELL BACKWARDS WITH PERSON SITTING IN SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH HEARD A GRINDING SOUND FROM LEFT FRONT WHEEL. THEN, 3 LOUD CLICKS. SHE PULLED OVER TO CHECK WHEEL, AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE LEFT FRONT TIRE BACK AND FORTH WITH BOTH HANDS ABOUT 2 INCHES. SHE THEN DROVE AT A SLOW SPEED TO NEAREST DEALER. DEALER REPLACED DUST BOOTS ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS/ REPLACED BEARINGS, AND BOTH ENDS OF AXLE. ON THE WAY HOME AFTER THIS REPAIR, VEHICLE MADE SAME NOISE AGAIN. VEHICLE AT DEALER AT THIS TIME. DEALER STATED THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON 2000 SPORTAGE.*AK
HAD TO HAVE ROTORS AND PADS REPLACED FOR 2ND TIME IN 23000 MILES. WHILE BRAKE JOB WAS BEING PERFORMED THEY FOUND OUT THAT BOTH BEARING SEALS WERE COMPLETLELY GONE. REMOVED TIRES AND HUBS TO FIND HUBS COMPLETELY CONTAMINATED WITH CORROSION. RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS ABOUT TO FALL OFF. 4-WHEEL DRIVE WAS ALSO INOPERATIVE. REPLACED BOTH HUS TO INCLUDE BOTH RUBBER VACUUM LINES, FOUR WHEEL SOLENOID AND VACUUM CANISTER BECAUSE OF CONTAMINATION. CAR DROVE FINE FOR 3 DAYS , NOW IT HAS A LOUD SQUEEL AND FRONT END VIBRATION WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT A NORMAL BREAKING SPEED OF AROUND 45 MPH. SERVICE DEPT. COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM....I WILL BE RETURNING VEHICLE BACK FOR FURTHER SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. THERE IS NOW A GROOVE IN LEFT FRONT ROTOR AFTER ONLY ABOUT 400 MILES OF WEAR.
CAR LOSES POWER WHILE IN MOTION, TAKEN TO DEALER ON 4 OCCASIONS IN A TIME SPAN OF THREE MONTHS, EVERYTIME THEY SAY SOMETHING DIFFERENT IS WRONG WITH IT, YET IT HAS BEEN THE SAME TYPE OF FAILURE EVERYTIME. I HAVE BEEN IN ONE NEAR FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER GOING 70MPS, I HAD TO DRIVE OFF OF THE HWY SO THAT I WOULDN'T BE HIT FROM BEHIND, THEN MY HUSBAND HAS ALMOST BEEN IN ATLEAST 4 ACCIDENTS, WHEN THE CAR LOSES POWER WHILE TURNING ONTO A BUSY INTERSECTION (CAR STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD). DEALER CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, YET I KEEP HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I JUST GOT THE CAR BACK FROM THE DEALER THIS PAST FRIDAY, AND IT IS STILL STALLING OUT ON ME. IS IT GOING TO TAKE ME, OR ONE OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS, DYING IN THIS CAR TO SEE WHAT THE REAL PROBLEM IS? PLEASE HELP ME. I DON'T KNOW WHERE ELSE TO TURN TO.*AK

THIS VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE DEFECTS IN WHICH THE MANUFACTURER/DEALER IS UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO CORRECT. CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD. MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, FAILING BATTERY, ELECTRICAL SHOCKS, MULTIPLE BLOWN FUSES FOR WINDOWS, FUSES BLOWN PRIOR TO PURCHASE BUT DISCOVERED WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF PURCHASE, PULLS TO THE RIGHT SUDDENLY, SKIDS OFTEN WITH 'FACTORY EQUIPPED' TIRES, HAS ELECTRICAL SURGES,FUMES COME FROM THE HEATING SYSTEM, CANARY SOUNDS FROM THE ENGINE AFTER 'SERVICING BY AUTHORIZED DEALER', ADDITIONALLY, DEALER'S SERVICE PERSONNEL ARE 'UNABLE TO DUPLICATE' OR RECOGNIZE ANY PROBLEMS
WHEN THIS FRONT END SYSTEM PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES PER HOUR, I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL TO TRY TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT FELT AS THOUGH THE CAR WAS BEING BLOWN ACROSS THE ROAD AS THOUGH A GUSTING HEAVY WIND WAS PUSHING THE CAR TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN IT WOULD FEEL AS THOUGH THE WHEELS WERE GOING TO COME OFF OF THE CAR. THE POWER BRAKES ALSO LOST POWER AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND WOULD NOT STOP THE CAR, AND THE THE STEERING BECAME MORE DIFFICULT BECAISE THE CAR WAS JUST PULLING TO THE RIGHT. I WAS TERRIFIED AT DRIVING UNDER THESE CONDITIONS AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AT A VERY SLOW RATE OF SPEED AND WAS ABLE TO PARK THE CAR IN A PARKING GARAGE UNTIL IT WAS TOWED TO A KIA DEALERSHIP IN PHILADELPHIA PA. (VALUE KIA). THE KIA DEALERSHIP THEN APPARENTLY FIXED MY CAR, BUT IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE DEALER USED OLD RECALLED PARTS TO REPAIR MY CAR AND THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED TEN DAYS LATER. THE DEALER IN OHIO. COURTESY AUTOWORLD DISCOVERED UPON MY PROMPTING THEM TO CHECK THE WORK DONE AT VALUE KIA, WAS DISCOVERED TO BE DONE IMPROPERLY USING BAD UNAUTHORIZED PARTS TO REPAIR MY CAR AT THE TIME. THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT WITH THIS VEHICLE WHICH IN MY ESTIMATION CAN CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. THE KIA CORP. NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM AND ALSO ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF USING BAD UNAUTHORIZED PARTS TO FIX THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM, BECAUSE USUNG THOSE PARTS ONLY INCREASED THE CHANCE OF THIS HAPPENING TO THE VEHICLE. THERE MAY BE THOUSANDS OF CARS ON THE ROAD WITH THIS POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING DEFECT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH BACK PART OF VEHICLE STARTED TO FISHTAIL RAPIDLY ACROSS 3 LANES. TOWED TO DEALER WHO FOUND FRAME WELDS THAT HOLD SUSPENSION HAD BROKEN. *AK
WAS DRIVING 5MPH AND PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT, APPLIED THE BRAKES WHICH FAILED, AND VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES IN ORDER FOR VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN AND THEN STOP.*AK *SLC
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START DUE TO EGR AND FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILURES,DEALER REPLACED, ALSO THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON DUE TO MAF CIRCUIT RANGE PROBLEM *YH
WHENEVER HEAT IS ON THERE IS A STRONG SWEET ODOR THAT COMES OUT. TOOK TO DEALER, AND THEY COULDN'T FIND CAUSE. *AK

VEHICLE SPUN AROUND & FLIPPED OVER TRAVELING AT 25-30MPH. CONSUMER FEELS SPEED ISN'T THE CAUSE. DEALER IS SENDING A REPRESENTATIVE TO INSPECT VEHICLE. *AK THE CONSUMER SAYS THE VEHICLE IS TOO LIGHT AND TOO HIGH UP UNDERNEATH. IT IS UNSAFE. *YH
WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY REAR WINDOW FELL DOWN. ELECTRICAL MOTOR ISN'T WORKING.DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
BRAKES DEVELOPED PULSATION AND VIBRATION ON APPLICATION AT ANY SPEED. DEALER REPLACED FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS TO CORRECT PROBLEM. PROBLEM CONTINUES TO RECUR REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF SAME COMPONENTS. FOUR FAILUIRES EXPERIENCED IN 31,000 MILES AND 24 MONTHS OF DRIVING. OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE BRAKE DESIGN.*AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 30MPH UP A HILL, AT TOP VEHICLE JERKED TO LEFT. CONSUMER MANAGED TO STEER IT BACK. VEHICLE BEGAN DOING A 180 DEGREE TURN, HIT AN EMBANKMENT, AND AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. CONSUMERS WAS GOING 5-10MPH UPON IMPACT. DEALERSHIP, AFTER INSPECTION, COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *AK
POWER LOCKS WOULD OPERATE ERRATICALLY, LOCKING / UNLOCKING BY ITSELF WHILE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING/DRIVING. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND PROBLEM STILLOCCURS. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION . *AK
LEFT FRONT BRAKE PADS WORE OUT EXCESSIVELY/ UNEVENLY. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND REPLACED PADS. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
PASSENGER DOOR IS NOT ALIGN PROPERLY, IT CASUSES WATER LEAKAGES WHEN WASHING AND WILL NOT CLOSE PROPERLY; DEALER REPLACE THE WEATHER STRIPPING AND THE DOOR STILL WILL NOT CLOSE PROPERLY, BEEN IN /OUT OF DEALER BODY SHOP ON FOUR OCCASION AND THE DOOR STILL WILL NOT CLOSE PROPERLY, NOT UNLESS YOU SLAM THE DOOR CLOSE. POWER WINDOWS FAILED TO OPERATE PROPERLY, AND CAUSED ELECTRICAL SHOCKS TO PASSENGERS WHENEVER THEY TOUCHED METAL OF DOOR. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALER'S SHOP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS BEFORE CORRECTION WAS MADE. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

WAS DRIVING ALONG...STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ..ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ..KEPT FLASHING ON AND OFF.AT THIS TIME I COULD SMELL SOMETHING VERY HOT AND STINKING..(NOT ANTIFREEZE)..I PROCEEDED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD BARELY HAD ENOUGH POWER TO MOVE IT OUT OF TRAFFIC...RUNNING VERY VERY ROUGH AT THIS TIME . *AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 22MPH ON A SIDE ROAD. THERE WERE VEHICLES PARKED AHEAD OF HER VEHICLE. CONSUMER APPLIED BRAKES, AND VEHICLE SLID INTO THEM. UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS WENT OFF, DRIVER AND PASSENGER WERE HURT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH THERE WAS A NEED FOR AN EMERGENCY STOP AND VEHICLE BEGAN SLIDING WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED, STRIKING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN REAR. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED.*AK *SLC

VEHICLE EXPERIENCES FUSE PROBLEMS WITH STEREO, POWERED LOCKS, ALARM, WINDOWS, AND NOW THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS INOPERABLE, POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL FUSE PROBLEM. *SLC
FRONT DRIVERSIDE DOOR WON'T OPEN AND ALL DOORS LOCK WITHOUT WARNINGS WITH SLIGHTEST MOVEMENT OF CAR. CAR FAILED FIRST VT SAFTEY INSPECTION NOV. 00 BECAUSE SEVERE DEFECT WITH WHEEL BEARINGS - BRAKES PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED WITH ADJUSTMENTS NECCESARY TO WHEEL BEARING AS VERY LOOSE. FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CHECKED IN NOVEMBER BY KIA DUE TO POSSIBLE HUB FAILURE, FOUND NO PROBLEM. FIRST TIME USING 4WH DR, FAILED HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP (DEC 00) ALL 4WH DR EQUIPMENT REPLACED.
MY DAUGHTER WAS FLIPPED!! HIT IN THE REAR PANEL WHILE CLEARING AN INTERSECTION THE SPORTAGE ROLLED OVER. THE CHEVROLET S10 HIT HER GOING AROUND 30 TO 35 MPH. IT SPUN HER AND FLIPPED HER OVER AND THIS SUV SLIDE ACROSS THE PAVEMENT ON IT'S ROOF. SHE WAS AT A STOP THEN PROCEEDED ACROSS INTERSECTION 10-15 MPH AT THE MOST.. AGAIN SHE WAS FLIPPED OVER....THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED!!!
FRONT ROTORS WENT OUT THREE TIMES. WHEN APPLYING BRAKES VEHICLE SHOOK A LOT.*AK
CONSUMER HAS REPORTED ELETRICAL PROBLEMS TO THE DEALER WHO HAS BEEN UNCORPORATIVE. THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF SUBSTANCE DRIPPING ON DRIVER'S FOOT & A BURNING SMELL FROM THE INSIDE. CONSUMER PULLED/LIFTED UP HOOD AND VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. DEALERSHIP HAS NO CONCERN OF THE PROBLEM OR CAUSE.*AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT 25MPH. UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, RESULTING IN MINOR INJURIES.MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED.*AK
A TAXI CAB CROSSED A DOUBLE YELLOW LINE ON A 2 WAY ROAD AND HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HEAD ON, AND ALL THREE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINS OF ENGINE STALLING AND SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATION, MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *TT
ONE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO GET THESE DIFFRENT PROBELMS FIXED ALWAYS SOMETHING ELSEWENT WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE WITHIN A HOUR OR SO OF TIME AFTER PICKING VEHICLE UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I CURRENTLY HAVE A MAJOR ENGINE PROBELM THAT STILL EXISTS WITH A VERY STRONG ODOR OF SULFUR SMELL. VEHICLE HAS LEFT ME STRANDED ALONG ROADSIDE WITH 3 CHILDREN IN IT ON AT LEAST 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTER AND THEY WILL NOT REPURCHASE THIS VECHILE BACK NOR DO THEY ACKNOWLEDGE CURRENT ENGINE PROBELMS AND THE SAFETY ISSUE OF THIS VECHILE. I HAVE A TECHINICAL NO PARTIAL PARTY REPORT ABOUT THIS VECHILE AND THE ( MAUFACTURE WILL STILL NOT REPURCHASE THIS VECHILE FROM ME) I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF PROBELMS THIS VECHILE HAS GIVEN ME AS OF THIS POINT ONLY OWNING THIS FOR 6 MONTHS WITH 4000 + MILES ON IT. *AK

WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND KICKS OUT, CONSUMER HAS HAD PROBLEMS STARTING VEHICLE IN THE MORNING, ON ONE OCCASION AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO START THE VEHICLE BUT IT CUT OFF, THE GAS WAS PUMPED A FEW TIMES AND THE VEHICLE BACKFIRED WITH A LOUD POPPING NOISE. *SLC
VEHICLE DEVELOPED AN UNDER HOOD FIRE WHILE TRAVELING AT 40-50 MPH. LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED TO EXTINGUISH FIRE. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER, AND CAUSE STILL UNKNOWN, POSSIBLE ENGINE FAILURE. *AK *SLC
WHEN STARTING VEHICLE, IT RUNS ROUGH AND ALMOST STALLS. WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE, IT HESITATES AND BUCKS, HAS TOTAL LOSS OF POWER IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, BUT DOES HAPPEN FREQUENTLY. HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CANNOT LOCATE PROBLEM. CAR HAS LOST POWER SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ENTERING TRAFFIC CAUSING A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT. *AK
A STRONG WIND IS CAPABLE TO MISDIRECT VEHICLE OR BLOW VEHICLE OFF ROAD IN WET CONDITIONS. VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP IN ONE LANE WHEN THERE ARE WINDY CONDITIONS. THIS GENERALLY HAPPENS AT SPEEDS HIGHER THAN 35 MPH .*AK *JB
