TAKATA RECALL. LEXUS NOTIFIED ME OF THE AIRBAG PROBLEM RECALL ON MAY 23, 2016. IT HAS BEEN 10 MONTHS SINCE I WAS NOTIFIED AND LEXUS CONTINUES TO TELL ME THEY ARE NOT PREPARED TO FIX MY CAR, AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY CAN! TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE L RECENTLY TRIED TO TRADE-IN MY LEXUS AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID NOT WANT THE CAR BECAUSE THE RECALL IS NOT FIXED ! RIGHTLY SO BECAUSE THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SELL THE CAR WITH A RECALL NOT REPAIRED! SO I'M STUCK WITH IT TILL LEXUS CAN FIX IT. SO NOT RIGHT!!

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED THE AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL IN JUNE 2016, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF MY CAR SINCE THEN. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANOTHER UPDATE ABOUT THE REMEDY FOR THE POTENTIALLY DEADLY AND EXPLODING AIRBAG IN MY CAR, AND IT HAS BEEN FOUR MONTHS. LOCAL AUTO DEALERSHIPS DO NOT KNOW THE TIMELINE FOR REPLACEMENTS, EITHER. THIS IS AWFUL. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO TRANSPORT PASSENGERS IN MY FRONT SEAT.
TAKATA RECALL. TODAY'S DATE: 01/27/17. I'M FILLING THIS COMPLAINT IN REGARDS TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. I AM UPSET AND DISSATISFIED THAT NO REMEDY/SOLUTION HAS BEEN TAKEN REGARDING THIS ISSUE. I RECEIVED A LETTER BACK IN JUNE 2016 ABOUT THIS RECALL AND ALSO A COUPLE PAGES OF FAQ. I CALLED UP MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TODAY, AND WAS INFORMED THE PARTS TO FIX THIS RECALL ISSUE ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. ACCORDING TO THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS LISTED ON THE RECALL NOTICE: "UNTIL THE REMEDY BECOMES AVAILABLE, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT." HOW MUCH LONGER MUST MY FOUR-PERSON PASSENGER CAR REMAIN A THREE-PERSON PASSENGER CAR? HOW MUCH LONGER MUST SO MANY OTHERS AND MYSELF HAVE TO WAIT FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE FIXED? HOW MUCH LONGER MUST I DRIVE MY CAR AND HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT POSSIBLY GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT AND HAVING SHRAPNEL PROPELLED AT ME FROM MY PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG? TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE JUNE 9, 2016. ON OCTOBER 3, 2016 I SPOKE WITH LAURIE WHO ALLEGED THAT I WAS IN ZONE A WHICH WOULD BE AMONG THE FIRST TO BE REPAIRED (ANTICIPATED DATE OF REPAIR THE FIRST OF THE YEAR). I CALLED BACK ON 1-11-17 AND SPOKE WITH JOEL. THE DEALERSHIP HAD NOT REC'D THE PARTS, THEY HAVE NOT HEARD FROM TAKATA. IN THE INTERIM I HAVE BEEN ASKED THAT NO ONE SIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE UNTIL THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED. I SHOULD CONTINUE PAYING FOR A LUXURY VEHICLE THAT THEY HAVE ASKED NO ONE SIT IN. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT NEITHER LEXUS OR TAKATA INTEND ON REMEDYING THIS DEFECT. I AM OUTRAGED THAT IN ALMOST A YEAR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. YET, LEXUS STILL EXPECTS PAYMENT. AND, TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY THEY HAVE PUT, IN WRITING, THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. IN WRITING: HIGH TEMPERATURES AND HUMIDITY (STATE OF GEORGIA) CAUSE THE ISSUE TO WORSEN. DOES THE NHTSA DEEM THIS APPROPRIATE?

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD MELTED CAUSING A STICKY SURFACE THAT REFLECTS OFF THE WINDOW, WHICH AT TIMES IMPAIRED HER VISION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. TAKATA RECALL PLEASE SEE CASE NUMBER 1039859. IT WAS MADE ON NOVEMBER 7, 2016. IN IT I MENTIONED RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE LAST SUMMER TELLING ME THAT REPAIR PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN NOVEMBER. THEN I WAS TOLD JANUARY. THE LATEST CONTACT FROM THE MANUFACTURER SAYS "FIRST QUARTER OF 2017". THAT EXTENDS THROUGH MARCH. THIS IS STUPID. IS THERE A PROCEDURE FOR HAVING THE AIRBAG MADE INOPERABLE? THE CAR STILL HAS SEATBELTS, AFTER ALL. I HAVE A USELESS CAR. I NEED SOME HELP HERE. THANK YOU.

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO USE THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT SINCE THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. THEREFORE, I CAN USE ONLY 3/4 OF THE CAR. THEY ARE TAKING WAY TOO LONG TO ADDRESS THIS. IF THEY CANNOT FIX IT, THEY SHOULD COMPENSATE ME FOR THE MISSING 1/4 OF THE CAR.

TAKATA RECALL-CANNOT GET DEALER TO RETURN CALLS AS TO THE PRIORITY STATUS FOR THE REPAIR FOR MY VEHICLE. IN JULY 2016, MY SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A PRIORITY LIST AND HE HAD PUT MY VEHICLE ON IT BUT I STILL SEE YOUR SITE INDICATES THERE ISN'T A RESOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM. LEXUS CONTINUES TO PRODUCE NEW SAFER CARS, WITHOUT REPAIRING OLDER ONES WHICH IS RIDICULOUS FOR OWNERS WHO ARE RIDING IN TIME BOMBS. TODAY'S NEWS REPORTS ARE STATING THAT THOSE OF US WITH RECALLS SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND OUT OUR REPAIR STATUS NOW SO I NEED HELP BECAUSE IT IS A RISK FOR MY PASSENGERS AND ME THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO HAPPEN.

I CALLED LEXUS JULY 19, 2016 AND ASKED WHEN THE REPLACEMENTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE "WE DON'T KNOW" WAS THEIR ANSWER. NHTSA SHOULD HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO TELL TAKATA YOU WILL PUT NO AIR BAGS IN ANY NEW CAR SOLD IN THE UNITED STATES UNTIL YOU HAVE FIXED ALL OF THE "TAKATA RECALLS". I NEED A WHOLE CAR WITH MY FAMILY.
