TAKATA RECALL----IT IS RIDICULOUS TO SEND OUT NOTICES THAT ADVISE YOU TO NOT HAVE A PASSENGER-----PROVIDE COMPENSATION FOR A RENTAL CAR UNTIL IT IS FIXED
TAKATA RECALL: RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE OVER A MONTH AGO. STILL NO REPAIR SOLUTION. THEY JUST TELL US NOT TO HAVE A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER. WE NEED TO USE OUR CAR.....ALL SEATING POSITIONS. WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN SOLVED?
TAKATA RECALL - THERE HAS BEEN NO VIABLE SOLUTION ISSUED TO PROTECT CONSUMERS WHILE THE REMEDY FOR THIS RECALL IS DEVELOPED. THE RECOMMENDATION TO NOT DRIVE WITH A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER IS NOT FEASIBLE OR PRACTICAL. NO INJURY HAS BEEN SUSTAINED AT THIS TIME.
I HAVE CALLED THE NUMBER PROVIDED ON THE LETTER THAT NOTIFIED ME OF THE RECALL TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. I WAS TOLD THE NEW AIR BAGS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET AND IN THE MEANTIME, I CAN RENT A CAR (NOT A LEXUS) THROUGH ENTERPRISE RENT A CAR. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I BOUGHT A LEXUS AND SINCE MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THE AIR BAG IS REPLACED, I SHOULD HAVE A COMPARABLE CAR TO DRIVE.
TAKATA RECALL- YOUR DATABASE IS NOT UP TO DATE; I RECIEVED A RECALL LETTER FROM LEXUS AT BEGINNING OF THIS WEEK. I AM TRYING TO GET A RENTAL WHILE WE WAIT (MONTHS? 2012 LEXUS ES 350. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FAILURE TO REMEDY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL NOTICE IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. *SMD UPDATED 04/18/2017 *JS
TAKATA RECALL. ON FEBRUARY 25, 2017 I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL AN INTERIM NOTICE (IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL) FROM LEXUS REGARDING MY 2012 LEXUS ES 350, VIN [XXX]. FIRST, I CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON AND WHEN IT WOULD BE FIXED. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN SEPTEMBER 2017,WHICH I ASSUME MEANS I WOULD THEN BE IN LINE FOR THE REPAIR SOME TIME AFTER SEPTEMBER. I THEN CONTACTED THE LEXUS DIVISION, CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 800-255-3987 ONLY TO BE TOLD THE SAME THING. THE SOLUTION UNTIL THE FIX IS DONE IS HAVE MY WIFE SIT IN THE BACK SEAT. LEXUS WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THERE WAS A TAKATA AIRBAG ISSUE FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY EXCESSIVE WAIT TIME FOR A FIX, ONE THAT LIMITS MY ABILITY TO USE THE CAR FOR ITS INTENDED PURPOSE. THERE ARE NO ASSURANCES THAT IF I AM THE ONLY ONE IN THE FRONT SEAT DRIVING THE CAR THAT IF THE AIRBAG EXPLODES THAT THE SHRAPNEL WOULD NOT HIT MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE IN THE BACK SEAT. I CANNOT SELL OR TRADE THE CAR IN AS THE VALUE HAS BEEN REDUCED SIGNIFICANTLY. LEXUS IS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT HIS IS MORE OF AN INCONVENIENCE THAN A THREAT TO ITS OCCUPANTS. MY VEHICLE WAS PAID OFF THE YEAR I PURCHASED IT. LEXUS ACTS LIKE THIS IS JUST TOO BAD AND IT WASN'T THERE FAULT. I WOULD ASSUME THAT ANY PARTS THEY SUBCONTRACT OUT FOR TO INSTALL IN MY LEXUS WOULD HAVE BEEN DESIGNED, BUILT AND TESTED WITH LEXUS APPROVAL, SO THEY DO HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY IN THIS. TAKATA RECALL: RECALL NOTIFICATION RECEIVED 2-23-2017 WITH STATEMENT THAT ANOTHER NOTIFICATION WILL BE RECEIVED. AS OF NOW, NO REMEDY NOTIFICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED. I FEEL THAT THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS RECALL SHOULD REQUIRE MORE TIMELY CORRECTION.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED AN INTERIM RECALL NOTICE ON 02-23-2017. I AM STILL WAITING FOR A NOTICE THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES VIA EMAIL TO DISCUSS THE DELAY BUT LEXUS REPRESENTATIVES REFUSE TO RESPOND TO MY QUESTIONS VIA EMAIL. THEY INSIST I CONTACT THEM BY TELEPHONE.
"TAKATA RECALL" WE JUST BOUGHT A LEXUS350ES IN SEPTEMBER 2016, AND WERE NOT AWARE OF THE TAKATA RECALL UNTIL WE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER ON 2/17/17. THE LETTER STATED THAT "LEXUS IS CURRENTLY PREPARING THE REMEDY FOR THIS PROBLEM AND WILL SEND ANOTHER NOTIFICATION TO ALL AFFECTED OWNERS WHEN THE REMEDY BECOMES AVAILABLE. AND, WHAT SHOULD WE DO? "UNTIL THE REMEDY BECOMES AVAILABLE, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT" AND, "WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS WILL CAUSE, BUT WE ARE TAKING THIS ACTION TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY" ARE YOU FRICKIN KIDDING ME?? WE DID NOT BUY THIS SO CALLED, NICER CAR, AND SPEND THIS MUCH MONEY, TO NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT WITH AN OCCUPANT...TO TRANSPORT, TO GO TO & FROM WORK, OR SHOP, TO DO THAT PART OF OUR LIFE THAT REQUIRES A VEHICLE!!! NO, NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET, AND WE HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT THAT WOULD TRIGGER THE AIR-BAD TO INJURE OR KILL THE PASSENGER; BUT HOW CAN WE UTILIZE THE CAR IF IT IS DANGEROUS TO OUR LIFE AND NEEDS A REPAIR, THAT IS NOT EVEN AVAILABLE?? ON TOP OF ALL THIS, WHEN WE WERE DOING THE PAPERWORK TO PURCHASE THIS CAR FROM CARMAX, AND IT CAME TO THEIR DISCLOSURE FORM "IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR PURCHASE- MANUFACTURER RECALLS AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT", IT INDICATED THAT THE BOX MARKED WAS " NO OPEN RECALLS REPORTED BY NHTSA". THE TAKATA RECALL WAS A REPORTED RECALL! WE WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS LEXUS ES350 IF WE HAD KNOWN ABOUT THIS AIRBAG RECALL. AND, IF THE FORM THAT CARMAX USED STATING THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS, STATED THAT THERE WAS AN AIRBAG RECALL IN MASSIVE NUMBERS; WE WOULD HAVE INVESTIGATED AND REALIZED THAT THIS RECALL DID NOT HAVE A REMEDY, WE WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR!! TAKATA RECALL. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN FOR OVER 7 MONTHS OR BETTER NOW. IT IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE AS NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF MY CAR. DEALERSHIP KEEPS SAYING THE PARTS ARE NOT IN YET AND THEY WILL CALL WHEN AVAILABLE. STILL NOTHING AS OF SEPTEMBER 2017.

TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM LEXUS IN FEBRUARY 2017 INDICATING A RECALL ON THE TAKATA INFLATORS. THE LETTER STATES THAT UNTIL A REMEDY BECOMES AVAILABLE THAT NO OCCUPANT BE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IT FURTHER STATES THAT I WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE REMEDY BECOMES AVAILABLE. THIS REMEDY IS NOT PRACTICAL AS IT IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE AND IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO GET AROUND WITHOUT A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. I AM VERY SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT THIS IS THE RECOMMENDED SOLUTION. WHEN DO YOU EXPECT TO HAVE THE SOLUTION AND CAN THE FIX BE PRIORITIZED SO THAT I AM CLOSER TO THE TOP OF THE LIST?

TAKATA RECALL WHILE THE RECALL LETTER WAS UNDATED, I RECEIVED IT IN JANUARY 2017 OR AT THE LATEST, EARLY FEBRUARY 2017. I CHECKED WITH TWO LEXUS DEALERSHIPS ON MARCH 20, 2017, ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY WERE WORKING ON 2010 MODELS AND THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS WERE AVAILABLE FOR MY MODEL LEXUS. FOR 8 MONTHS I HAVE AVOIDED HAVING PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT SEAT. THAT IS A LONG TIME. THERE IS SOME FOOT-DRAGGING ON THE PART OF TAKATA OR LEXUS OR BOTH. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO EXPEDITE REPLACEMENT OF THE AIRBAG?
