MICHELIN DEFENDER TIRES JUST HAVE 10 MILES ON THEM . THEY HAVE ALWAYS HAD EXTREME ROAD NOISE, THEY HANDLE AWFUL. I'M REALLY THINKING OF TAKING THEM OFF AND PUTTING ON YOKOHAMAS OR GOODYEAR OR ANY TIRE OTHER THAN MICHELIN DEFENDERS,ALSO WHILE TURNING WITH DEFENDER TIRES IT FEELS LIKE I HAVE TO HOLD THE WHEEL EXTRA TIGHT BECAUSE IIT FEELS LIKE THE TIRES FEEL BIGGER THAN THEY ARE,LIKE I'M TURNING IN MUD. ALSO I ROTATE MY TIRES EVERY OIL CHANGE. ALL IN ALL TERRIBLE TIRES. I WISH I COULD GET SOME KIND OF REFUND FROM MICHELIN TIRE COMPANY.
TAKATA RECALL OR TAKATA ISSUES - I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IN MY 2012 LEXUS ES 350. I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER VEHICLE (2005 JEEP LIBERTY) AT ABOUT 45MPH AND MY FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I READ THE OWNERS MANUAL WHICH INDICATED THAT IF HIT FROM BEHIND THE FRONT AIRBAGS DO NOT DEPLOY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FRONT COLLISIONS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE FOR ALL CONSUMERS BECAUSE THE FORCE OF THE ACCIDENT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET CAUSED ME AND MY HUSBAND AS THE PASSENGERS BODILY HARM. MY HEAD HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND HIS HEAD HIT THE DASHBOARD - CONCUSSIONS AND LOST CONSCIOUSNESS. HAD WE BEEN HIT ANY HARDER IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN DEATH. ALSO, HAD THE LEXUS BEEN DESIGNED TO DEPLOY THE FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHEN HIT FROM BEHIND AT A CERTAIN SPEED, IT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED US FROM HITTING OUR HEADS ON SUCH HARD SURFACES. I AM OUTRAGE AND DISAPPOINTED THAT SUCH A LUXURY CAR COULD NOT KEEP US SAFE. BECAUSE OF THIS EXPERIENCE I AM HESITANT ABOUT PURCHASING ANOTHER LEXUS OR RECOMMENDING THAT ANYONE ELSE I KNOW PURCHASE A LEXUS.
TAKATA RECALL NHTSA RECALL NO. 6V-340 & 17V-006. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A REMEDY TO THE RECALL PROBLEM FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. I CONTINUE TO GET A MESSAGE THAT THERE IS NO REMEDY AT THIS TIME AND WE WILL CONTACT YOU WHEN WE HAVE IT.
TAKATA RECALL: RECEIVED INTERIM NOTICE FROM LEXUS BETWEEN JULY AND OCTOBER 2016 (LETTER NOT DATED). LEXUS OF NASHVILLE SAYS THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PART TO PERFORM THIS RECALL ON OUR MODEL....OVER ONE YEAR LATER! WE HAVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO DRIVE WITH A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER. THIS IS NOT PRACTICAL AND NOT ACCEPTABLE. WE NEED A FIX NOW.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE LEXUS DEALER (HENNESSY LEXUS OF ATLANTA, 5955 PEACHTREE INDUSTRIAL BLVD, ATLANTA, GA 30341, 770-457-6800) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

TAKATA RECALL. LEXUS TOLD US THAT HEAT & HUMIDITY AFFECT THE AIR BAG MORE QUICKLY. WE LIVE ON COAST OF SC WHERE THESE ARE VERY HIGH. LEXUS STATED WE WOULD BE IN THE FIRST RECALL DUE TO THAT FACT. SEVERAL MONTHS HAVE PAST WITH NO ACTION. I DO NOT WANT ME OR MY KIDS TO BE KILLED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG. PLEASE HELP.
CONSUMER WAS A PASSENGER IN A 2012 LEXUS ES340. SHE CLAIMS THAT THE PLASTIC SHROUD HOLDING THE AIR BAG CUT OPEN HER LEG, CAUSING VERY SERIOUS INJURIES AND PAIN. *BF THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A TWO-VEHICLE, SIDE IMPACT CRASH. UPDATED 07/26/16.*JB
WAS MOVING SLOWLY IN TRAFFIC HEADING TOWARD AN INTERSECTION (AROUND 15 MILES PER HOUR). WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE WHEN TWO CARS IN FRONT OF ME WENT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, MY CAR ZOOMED TO AROUND 60 MILES PER HOUR (FELT LIKE THE ACCELERATOR WENT LIMP). I PUMPED THE POWER BRAKES AND THEY WOULD NOT HOLD (PER LEXUS BECAUSE THE CAR WAS GOING TO FAST FOR THE AIR BRAKES). I WENT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND SWERVED AROUND A CAR AND WAS HEADING TOO FAST IN THE LANE OF TRAFFIC THAT I WAS GOING TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I TURNED QUICKLY INTO A PARKING LOT LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO CRASH THE CAR BECAUSE I COULD NOT STOP IT. A CAR APPROACHED ME COMING IN THE OTHER END OF THE PARKING LOT, AND I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKE. WHEN I DID THAT THE ZOOM WENT OUT OF THE CAR, AND THE BRAKE HELD. THERE WERE 2 ADULTS AND 2 CHILDREN IN THAT CAR. (WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE GOOD DURING THIS DRIVING PERIOD).
I PARKED THE CAR IN MY INDOOR GARAGE (PART OF THE INTERIOR OF MY HOME). SEVERAL HOURS LATER, I BEGAN TO FEEL ILL AND COLLAPSED ON THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO CALL 911 AND AN EMERGENCY CREW RESPONDED TO MY HOME. I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR, BUT THEY WERE ABLE TO GAIN ACCESS. THEY IMMEDIATELY DETERMINED THAT MY HOME WAS FILLED WITH CARBON MONOXIDE AND FOUND THAT THE SOURCE WAS THE CAR IN THE GARAGE. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CAR'S ENGINE HAD BEEN LEFT ON AND THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. THIS WAS THE RESULT OF ME WALKING AWAY FROM THE CAR, WHICH HAS A "SMART-KEY" IGNITION, WITH THE ENGINE STILL RUNNING. I DID NOT HEAR ANY ALERT FROM THE CAR WARNING ME THAT THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. THE MEDICS SAID THAT 5 MORE MINUTES IN MY HOME WOULD HAVE BEEN FATAL, AND I WAS RUSHED BY AMBULANCE TO A HOSPITAL, WHERE I REMAINED FOR 3 DAYS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THE PERSON DRIVING SAW SMOKE STARTING TO EMIT FROM UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT, AFTER THE SEAT HEATER WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN FOUND A SMALL BURN HOLE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER SEAT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,200. UPDATED 2/24/15*CN LEXUS INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE BURN HOLD WAS NOT LOCATED NEAR THE SEAT HEATER GRID OR WHERE THE ELECTRICAL WIRING WAS LOCATED AND THEREFORE, THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS. THE SWITCHABLE RETRACTOR WAS BROKEN IN THE CENTER REAR SEAT OF THIS VEHICLE. WHEN YOU PULLED THE SHOULDER BELT OUT ALL THE WAY, AND THEN LET IT BACK IN SLOWLY, THE ALR DID NOT ENGAGE. THE BELT REMAINED IN ELR MODE THROUGHOUT - AS SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=GKKQVRSRF8Q THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR THE VEHICLE CLEARLY STATES THAT THERE IS A SWITCHABLE RETRACTOR FOR ALL 3 REAR SHOULDER BELTS - BUT THE CENTER ONE IN THIS VEHICLE WOULD NOT ENGAGE. THIS DEFECT IS IN VIOLATION OF THE LOCKABILITY REQUIREMENT IN FMVSS 208. *TR
DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG CAUSED HEMATOMA, SECOND DEGREE BURN ON L. LEG, RESULTING IN 2 SURGERIES, USE OF WOUND VAC FOR 2 1/2 MONTHS, AND PERMANENT LYMPEDEMA AND SCARRING ON L. CALF. DRIVER HAS REPLACED KNEES THAT ARE AT HIGH RISK IF FURTHER CRASH AND KNEE BAG DEPLOYS AGAIN. DRIVER NEEDS ON-OFF SWITCH INSTALLED FOR DRIVER KNEE AIRBAG. DRIVER WAS NOT AT FAULT IN THIS ACCIDENT AND WANTS KNEE AIRBAGS REMOVED OR AN ON-OFF SWITCH INSTALLED. THE AIRBAG ON STEERING WHEEL DEPLOYED CORRECTLY AND CAUSED NO DAMAGE. THE KNEE AIRBAG IS A DANGER TO DRIVER.
ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD NEXT TO TEMPERATURE CONTROL SWITCH, DASHBOARD VINYL IS MELTING, IT HAS BUBBLE AND ONE BUBBLE WAS BROKEN TO MAKE A HOLE. I NOTICED IT ON APRIL 1, 2014. WHEN I CHANGED THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON MARCH,31 IN GLOVE COMPARTMENT, I DIDN'T SEE IT. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO NEW COUNTRY LEXUS AND DESCRIBED THE ISSUE HOPING THAT THEIR TECHNICIAN MAY SEE ISSUE WITH TEMPERATURE CONTROL RESISTANCE MAY CAUSING WIRING TO HEAT THAT IS CAUSING VINYL TO MELT. BUT THEY DIDN'T SEE IT THAT WAY, INSTEAD THEY ARE SAYING THAT I MIGHT HAVE DROPPED A CHEMICAL ON IT, I SWORE TO THEM I DIDN'T USE ANY CHEMICAL AND I DON'T HAVE ANY PASSENGER EXCEPT MY WIFE. I DON'T WANT TO FIX THE VINYL UNTIL I FIX WHAT CAUSED IT. BUT, UNFORTUNATELY LEXUS DEALERSHIPS TRAINED TECHNICIAN DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING CAUSING IT FROM THE INSIDE THE DASHBOARD. BY TAKING SECOND OPINION FROM OUTSIDE REPAIR SHOP, HE MENTIONED THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL RESISTANCE MAY BE HEATING UP THE WIRE THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE VINYL TO MELT. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A REAL ISSUE AND IT MAY CAUSE A FIRE. I HAVE OPENED A CASE WITH LEXUS CORPORATE AND A CASE MANAGE PROMISED TO CALL ME BY APRIL 4, 2014. UPDATED 04/17/14
I HAD A 2012 LEXUS ES 350 AND HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT. THE FIRST PROBLEM OCCURRED WHEN I WAS PARKING. I WAS ANGLE PARKING AND HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN THE CAR JUMPED INTO A BRICK WALL. FOUR AIR BAGS EXPLODED IN MY FACE AND RENDERED ME UNCONSCIOUS. I WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL IN AN AMBULANCE. I COULD HARDLY WALK AND MY LEGS WERE EXTREMELY SWOLLEN AND I HAD MANY OTHER BRUISES. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT OF THE CAR WENT ON FIRE AND BURNT THE SEAT. I FEEL I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THE FINAL EXCESS WEAR AND TEAR BILL OF $829.50. IN FACT I BELIEVE I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE LAST PAYMENT OF $455 SINCE THE CAR WAS NOT IN MY POSSESSION. I HAD RETURNED IT TO WILDE LEXUS OF SARASOTA ON MARCH 16, 2015 AS I WAS EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 55 MPH AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AFTER BEING CUT OFF. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE WHEELS SEIZED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED AN ABNORMAL NOISE AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD UNUSUALLY. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A RESTRAINING WALL. THE CONTACT WAS REPORTED INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD NOT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 7,000.
